despite knowing nothing but designer purses and the corporate ladder, you uproot your entire life to take over your grandfather's old farm in the town you were desperately trying to remember - alongside a familiar face from your youth that permanently finds his way into your heart.

iv. the caretaker
“gonna be real, i’m sure you know why we’re looking at you funny.” jungkook was blunt, but you had to give him kudos for it.
“oh, why is that?” you replied dryly,
the way you had narrowed it down for your parents seemed more simple in your head when you rehearsed it a dozen times over before having each individual sit-down. the property was just going to rot and go to waste. it’s what grandpa would have wanted. so many sweet words intertwined with one another, but not once did you mention your perpetual unhappiness.
explaining it to two people who were essentially strangers should have been easier, but something told you that the look jungkook was giving you hinted that he knew there was more of a story than that. on the other hand, namjoon, who was still confused by the entire conversation somehow, either didn’t care to ask or knew it wasn’t his place to press.
by his sympathetic glance towards your dirty duffel bag, it seemed to be the latter. he slowly came to the ground from his horse and gave you one of those sweet smiles that only a gentleman from the countryside could give. it was the same one your grandpa and jungkook had.
namjoon gestured down the road. “need a ride into town?”
your eyebrows furrowed in confusion when namjoon said “ride” and then your eyes fell on the beautiful stallion that he had a gentle hand on. oh. somehow, the idea made you stomach drop and you were shocked to find that.
“what’s wrong? we used to ride all the time when we were kids,” jungkook said, having read the expression formed on your face.
one of the thing that your mom warned you about was that no one was going to take you seriously in the valley. your grandfather was a well seasoned farmer, as the property had been passed down for generations until your mom declined the responsiblity. and, of course, you grew up in the city and you definitely looked like it. there wasn’t another reason to add onto this obstacle.
you shook your head. “i, uh, injured my ankle a week back. pilates.” a hollow chuckle that jungkook and namjoon overlooked and nodded in understanding. “so, it’s best if i don’t ride into town.”
you weren’t sure why the idea of getting on a horse made you nervous. it had been many years, but there was a time where you rode more often than you walked on your own two legs. pushing the feelings away to deal with another time, there was a bigger issue at hand. the movers were likely going to make it to the farm before you were at this rate.
“oh, no worries! stay put, we’ll come back for ya,” jungkook said, “shouldn’t take long. you’ll be okay waiting here?”
you smiled and nodded, giving the two kind semi-strangers a thank you and off they went.
it was a relief that small-town hospitality was a thing. you hoped that would be the case, as you remembered amber valley to be a tight-knit community, as everyone knew each other. this left you to wonder who else you would be encountering in your new life here from your past. there weren’t too many kids your age growing up and you assumed that most of them would want to leave the valley like you did, given the lack of opportunitites. you wondered why jungkook and namjoon were still around.
although you were just standing on the side of the road alone, you didn’t feel unsafe at all. after all, your grandpa would allow you and jungkook to roam around the town until late at night with no supervision when you were kids. there was not a single vehicle that passed by as you waited. if you hadn’t gotten namjoon’s attention as he was riding by, you were going to end up hitchhiking and probably in the wrong direction, too.
soon enough, you saw a car in the distance and you breathed a sigh of relief. a baby blue mustang, its age was apparent by the blaring roar of its engine and clank of its metal. coming to a stop, the windows rolled down and you gave a small wave.
while jungkook sat at the passenger’s seat, there was a different face behind the steering wheel. another person around your age, you couldn’t recognize him by face, even calculating his smile that reached his eyes. however, when he opened his mouth, the man’s voice hit you like a truck.
  “hi, you’re - “
  “park jimin?” you gaped.
the park family ran a generation spanning fishing business in amber valley and your mom was once high school sweethearts with jimin’s father. that’s why his mom was particularly snippy with you as a child and didn’t want you hanging around her son, feeding him ideas of how evil you apparently were - or so, that’s what the gossip from jungkook’s mom was. the three of you were baking cookies one day and jungkook wanted to drop some off to jimin. you went along and jimin called you a witch, so when you cried the entire walk back to jungkook’s house, his mom told you not to worry and that his mom was just a bit petty. ever since that day on until your last summer in amber valley, you declared jimin an enemy after realizing why he had done the same to you.
jimin peered over, analyzing your face for a few seconds. beside him, you could see jungkook noticeably stifling a laugh. when the realization clocked in, jimin mirrored your slightly dropped jaw.
he couldn’t help but laugh. “oh shit, you’re bunny.” there was no sense of resentment or snarkiness, which was surprising with your history - but, then again, this wide-eyed individual with the sweetest smile you’d ever seen was nothing like your childhood bully.
“i remember one time you ripped all of my silly bandz. you were evil!” jimin exclaimed.
once you got into the backseat, duffle bag nestled beside you, the atmosphere was actually quite lively. a beyonce album from the 2000s was shuffled in the background and although the road was bumpy and old, no one seemed to mind. you raised your eyebrows, trying to recall jimin’s anecdone.
jungkook added in, “yup, you guys hated each other. i had to play peacemaker all the time.”
  “hmm
” you trailed off. “oh yeah. i think you had to physically hold me back from jimin a few times.”
apparently, from “forcing” jungkook to eat mud and terrorizing jimin’s dinosaur silly bandz collection, you were a menace. thankfully, it was all fun and games, as the three of you exchanged giggles about being kids in the valley. slowly, piece by piece, you were grasping some memories that you didn’t even know were tucked away at the back of your mind.
jungkook looked at you from the mirror. “you doing okay? we’ll be reaching the farm in a few minutes.”
“where did namjoon run off to again? i was supposed to lend him something,” jimin said.
“something about helping his dad with something, i dunno,” jungkook shrugged at jimin and then turned back to you. “he says good luck with moving in, by the way, and that he would have helped out if he could.”
jimin sighed. “he’s always at the beck and call of mayor kim. poor guy just wants to get out of here.” you assumed he was talking about amber valley as a whole.
this made you a bit curious, thinking again why these young adults were sticking around the small town. the average demographic for the town was definitely on the older side, from what you saw at your grandfather’s funeral service. you ended up asking what both of them did and while you noticed jungkook go quiet, jimin piped in.
“just helping my parents out with the family business, probably become the owner when they retire. i actually don’t mind it here and i could see myself staying here - “
“ - that’s because you’ve never left your entire life,” jungkook interjected.
“and it’s great! except the dating pool is a bit shallow. gotta figure that out.” jimin’s pout made you laugh and made it feel even more bewildering that this was the little brat from your childhood.
eventually, you all drove right past the path leading into the centre of town and made a sharp turn towards another dirt path that had a singular route to your grandfather’s property. the lively air of the conversation distracted you from the confrontation due, despite your hasty acceptance of your new role. the last two weeks had been a whirlwind and you grew anxious of what it would feel like to see your grandfather’s greatest pride and joy once again.
it’d been almost half a year since your grandfather’s passing and you prepared yourself for extensive work on the farm. there were also floating questions about the property that you weren’t sure who to ask. the property was in your name and the transition to move happened in the blink of an eye. but, what about grandpa’s other possessions? the animals? the furniture?
the moving truck was already parked out front and checking the time on your phone, you were relieved to see that you weren’t too late past the agreed arrival time. the three of you exited the car and you gave the two men a warm smile.
“hey, thanks for the ride. i really appreciate it, i would’ve been toast without your guys’ help.”
“it’s no problem at all! i think it’s really cool you’re taking over the farm, keeping it in the family,” jimin replied. “plus, we’ll probably be business partners. don’t worry, my days of being a pain in the ass are over.”
the two of you laughed and exchanged a playful handshake. meanwhile, jungkook took out your duffel bag from the trunk for you and walked over. you thanked him and took the bag from him, quietly impressed by his quick chivalry.
jungkook smiled at you and you couldn’t help but smile just a little bit wider. “do you need help with anything, by the way?“
“oh, no! trust me, you have definitely helped enough.” you waved him off. the neighbourly spirit was definitely strong in amber valley, but you already felt bad about having them fetch a whole car because the idea of you riding a horse was going to give you  a heart attack.
  “you sure?” jimin added.
you said, “absolutely. the movers got most of it anyway.” you were slightly worried about exploring the property and looking at the state of it, but that was just the first task you had to take care of in your new role.
“alright, cool. well, i hope to see you around! jungkook, you’re good?” jimin turned to the other male, who nodded. “nice. see ya then!” and just like that, jimin was off. a ray of sunshine, but seemed like the type who was always on his feet.
you were confused why jungkook didn’t leave with jimin and then you remember he lived about a five minute walk away. that reminded you why the two of you seemed to never leave each other’s sides.
“okay. you probably remember where everything is, but the chickens were fed this morning and - “ jungkook started and you were confused. what was he talking about?
“wait, has someone been taking care of the farm?”
you finally got a good look around the front and you realized everything looked. . .normal. it was exactly like how it looked in your memories, when your grandfather took meticulous care of the property. the grass was cut and emerald green, not missing a day of water.
your grandfather’s farmhouse had never gotten an renovation since being built and while it certainly showed, the age of the house accentuated a certain charm that only old houses gained over the years. the wrap-around porch was still in tact, despite its chipped paint. its unique bright red roof faded into a dirty maroon, losing remnants of what was your mother’s favourite colour, which your grandfather had customized the roof to match. the shrubbery around the house was overgrown, but didn’t look like it had been so for nearly half a year, indicating there was maintenance at some point between now and then.
jungkook took a second to speak. “well, your mom was paying for basic maintenance every now and then. for the grass and stuff.”
you didn’t know that, but you weren’t too surprised. after your grandpa died, there was really no talk about where his property was going to go. you didn’t know that he had left it to you, but you later found out that your mother was actually aware of this, but assumed you would be disinterested and didn’t say anything to you.
“i guess she thought i wouldn’t care about the property and took matters into her own hands,” you shrugged. “but, sorry, you said something about the chickens? and what about the fields?”
he put his hands into his pockets. “well, you know before your grandpa passed i was helping him around the farm and stuff. i just. . .kind of continued even after.”
you responded, “you’ve been taking care of the farm?”
you weren’t sure how to feel. you were certainly shocked, having not understood how truly deep jungkook’s relationship with your grandfather ran. for him to come out to the farm and perform labour on his own accord, as well as the way jungkook spoke about him, there was a true sense of care involved.
“well, yeah. there was no one else to do it. your grandpa worked all his life to grow this place and i didn’t want any of it to go to waste. i wasn’t sure what the situation was with the property until you came today, but the animals had nowhere to go!” jungkook seemed genuinely exasperated by the situation. “don’t worry, it’s not like i’ve been profiting off of his animals. i’ve used everything just to back into taking care of the farm and it’s been just enough, since there aren’t any crops.”
“jungkook. . .” you were left speechless. you couldn’t believe how golden of a heart this man really had to be keeping your grandfather’s memory alive, all behind the scenes and for no recognition.
he just chuckled. “look, i’m not just glad someone is here now to get things up and running again, but the fact that it’s you. you’re the perfect person for this.”
“am i?” you asked, looking down at the ground. you were about to fill some really big shoes and you knew it. those words of affirmation meant the world to you, suddenly feeling immense pressure on your back once actually seeing the farm in person for the first time in years.
jungkook said, without missing a beat, “of course. you’re here because you care about your grandpa’s legacy and all the work he’s done, i can see it in your eyes. you’ll be a natural, don’t worry - i’m sure all the little things are gonna come back to you!” he was so confident and you couldn’t believe it. you could only try to hope he was right.
“hey. . .” you began and couldn’t help but approach him. he seemed to share the same idea as you and opened his arms at the same time you did, enveloping you in a hug. neither one of you knew that the other had tears forming. “thank you, jungkook.”
“of course. maybe it’s actually best that i show you where everything is?”
you agreed without hesitation. after making sure that the movers didn’t need anything from you, the two of you left to embark on a quick tour of the property and its different buildings. when you were little, everything on the farm seemed so big and far and the entire world seemed to be unimaginatively endless. now, as an adult, things seemed just as daunting with the new chapter in your life, despite things not looking as big and far.
after an hour or so, jungkook said his goodbye and the movers had long finished their job. now, with your grandfather’s farmhouse living room filled to the brim with cardboard boxes and wrapped up furniture, you knew there was a lot ahead of you. you made a cup of tea and before getting to anything, found yourself outside and sitting criss-cross on the steps to the front door, wondering what was to come next.
  v. the sister
there was just one grocery store in town, about half a kilometre of a walk and wasn’t going to pose any trouble for your vehicle-less self. this was your first time going into town since moving in, having been cooped up and living off of ramen noodles since you lacked the energy to go grocery shopping. friday night, after finishing work for the day and unpacking the last of your boxes, you decided to put on your big girl pants and run some errands.
the first few days on the farm were exhausting, to say the least. thankfully, because of jungkook’s help and your mother’s contributions to the property, it was a lot less work than you remembered. you performed many of the tasks naturally, having spent summers doing the same thing over and over again. this didn’t mean you weren’t tiring come the weekend and you just wanted your trip to be a quick in and out.
with an hour to closing, the store was basically empty and this gave you a sense of relief. you walked in, wearing stained sweatpants that were far older than you were willing to admit and your hair held up into a messy updo by a claw clip.
after about ten minutes, you were in the cereal aisle and deciding on if you wanted to pick out the one with the best cartoon on the cover or the one with the best nutritional value. this is when you felt something tugging on your pant leg.
  “oh..? oh!”
you jumped slightly when you saw it was a beagle with the cutest eyes you’d ever seen. noticing the dog lacked a leash or collar or any kind, you quickly put the cereal you had been inspecting back on the shelf and crouched down.
you whispered, “who do we have here?” your own eyes softened, as you crouched down to pet the tiny animal.
from behind you, you hear the sound of spongy footsteps - almost like a squeak with each step. turning around, you were met with a little girl and realized the squeakiness was coming from her hot pink light up sneakers, the kind that only ever made noise on tiled flooring. with a leash that matched the colour of her shoes perfectly in hand, her distress visibly eased upon laying eyes on you and the dog.
“oh, peanut! oppa is gonna be so mad at me,” she gasped, immediately enveloping the puppy into her arms and re-attached the leash. looking at her, she couldn’t have been more than ten years old.
still crouched on the ground and meeting her at eye-level, you asked, “are you okay?”
“sorry, yeah! it just looked like she needed a second, so i took it off.” her frown, despite how distraught she was, was adorable. “thank you, miss!”
so much for the in and out. you didn’t mind, though, as peanut approached you again and jumped up, narrowly missing your face with an excitable lick. you giggled in a way you hadn’t in a while, petting the puppy.
soon enough, another round of frantic footsteps followed. you looked up and weren’t surprised to see a familiar face.
“jiwon, how many times have i told you to keep peanut leashed when we’re inside the store?”
honestly, it was to your luck that you ran into jungkook here. after he left you at the farm on your first day, you realized you didn’t get his contact information. you were definitely considering it as he gave you a quick tour of where everything you needed was, but the idea of asking a man for his number for any given reason made your stomach jump. thankfully you didn’t need immediate assistance, save for the various things that were just broken around the property, but it would have been useful.
clad in a graphic muscle shirt depicting a band you didn’t recognize, you couldn’t help but admire the way his tattoos were exposed and adorned his arms. you had to snap out of it. he finally made eye contact you and raised his eyebrows ever so slightly.
“y/n. how’s your first week gone?”
“oppa, why are you making your voice sound like that - “
jungkook cleared his throat. “shut it, jiwon.” you thought you saw his ears turned pink, but he adjusted the baseball cap on his head and his hair fell down to cover them.
you looked between the two of them, confused. who was this little girl? putting the thought at the back of your mind, you opened your mouth to answer his question when two other figures began to approach.
“hey! there you guys are - we got the cake.”
you’d never seen so many people wear cowboy hats in one place than amber valley and this individual was no exception. he was easily one of the most handsome men you had ever physically laid eyes on - what was with this town? and of course, blue jeans. the friend beside him was also incredibly good looking, but dressed more like your neighbour from your old apartment complex and stood out against the other people you’d seen in town. apple watch, expensive nike dunks and a hoodie from an instagram streetwear brand that recently blew up.
“who’s this?” the first man asked and his gaze made you a little more frozen than you were willing to admit.
jungkook replied, “this is y/n. she’s taking over the old farm, it was her grandpa’s.”
“oh, i’m sorry for your loss. welcome to amber valley, though. i’m taehyung,” he smiled and offered his hand, which you took. “i’m new, too. i moved here last year.”
the other man also offered you his hand. “i’m yoongi. welcome to amber valley - good luck.”
“i’m not new - wait what?” you looked at yoongi, confused. “what do you mean, good luck?”
the other three began chuckling amongst themselves. yoongi only looked exasperated. you raised an eyebrow.
jiwon cut in. “yoongi says he got tricked.”
  “tricked?”
“tricked to come here,” taehyung said, in between his laughs. “he’s from the city, something about his realtor lying to him about what the town’s like before he moved here.”
yoongi rolled his eyes. “it’s not a joke - i didn’t know i would be moving to the middle of nowhere!”
you learned that yoongi was a computer programmer and lived at home, worked from home, and hated leaving his home. he stayed in amber valley because on the few occasions he was forced to go into the office, it was only a short drive to where his company’s headquarters were in the next town over.
“i mean, it’s definitely different from the city. . .” you tried to offer, but yoongi waved it off. his friends were just amused and you could see the tiniest smile at that, so you assumed he wasn’t totally unhappy.
meanwhile, taehyung proudly declared that he - wait for it - chose to move to amber valley. he was a novelist and moving to the town inspired the setting for the newest manuscript he was working on.
“i love it here, it’s really peaceful,” he said.
the last to be introduced was jiwon, whose appearance baffled you more and more when you looked at her. it was because she looked just like jungkook. and she was calling him oppa. you put two and two eventually.
“my annoying little sister.” jungkook reached over, but jiwon instantly slapped his hand away from her head, as if on instinct.
there wasn’t too much surprise at the sibling you’d never met before, just a little bewildering to think a whole new human was made while you were gone from amber valley. after all, jungkook’s parents were relatively young, both the same age your own parents, who had you at nineteen. this explained two main things in your childhood, the first being why it was a no-hesitation decision for your parents to send you away to your grandfather’s care over the summer. free childcare was incredibly unreliable in the city and it was just easier for them.
and, of course, like most kids from the valley, your mom grew up alongside jungkook’s parents. for that, it was encouraged and even expected for the two of you to eventually become friends. there was also a high level of trust because of this. out late biking with jungkook? oh, you’re with jungkook, it should be fine. left unsupervised on the fields? it’s okay, you and jungkook would look after each other.
“it’s nice to meet you all. it’s a little weird that you have a little sister this grown now - has it really been that long since i left?” you shook your head.
jungkook only laughed. “longest nine years of my life since this brat was born.”
  “hey!”
“your mom did always say she wanted a daughter,” you attempted to joke, but ceased when you saw the atmosphere explicitly shift.
taehyung and yoongi looked away, eyes darting anywhere but the current conversation. jiwon looked like she had just seen a ghost. on the other hand, jungkook’s expression went blank. what the hell did you do wrong?
it was taehyung who broke the silence. “hey, jiwon. wanna go pick out a card for jin?”
jiwon nodded enthusiastically - a little too enthusiastic. she happily skipped away, giving peanut’s leash over to jungkook, and yoongi and taehyung both left with her.
“i’m so sorry, was it something i said?” you blurted to jungkook, as soon as the three were out of your line of sight. what a horrible first impression you must have just made.
jungkook said, “ah, no, it’s nothing, really. . .there is something you should know, though.” he took a second, as if preparing himself. “you see, my mom and dad passed away six years ago.”
  “what?”
the familiar feeling of grief struck you like a lightning bolt, causing your chest to drop and you blood to run cold. you thought you heard him wrong. six years ago? your grandpa never told you this - or maybe he did and it went in one ear and out the other. you couldn’t believe it, your body frozen and detached.
“hey, it’s okay, you couldn’t have known.” he reached over and placed a gentle hand on your shoulder, instantly calming you down at his touch.
you shook your head anyway. “i’m so sorry, jungkook.” you didn’t know what else to say.
“really, it’s fine,” he broke out into a light chuckle. “it was an accident and it happened a long time ago. it’s just a bit hard on jiwon because she doesn’t really remember them.”
  “oh, i feel awful!”
“it’s okay, y/n,” jungkook continued to assure you, while peanut just looked up at you with those big eyes.
you still didn’t seem to find the words, as you mentally grasped at any remaining memories of jungkook’s parents. they were always around during the summer and were always so good to you. they cared for you like one of their own. jungkook’s mom always joked that you were the daughter she always wanted.
jungkook decided to be the one to change the subject, even though you had lingering questions about his and jiwon’s situation. he told you the reason why the four of you were in the grocery store in the first place, talking your ear off about how excited he was for his friend’s birthday party tomorrow.
“we’re throwing him a surprise party at the local pub - well, i guess it’s the only one in town,” he prattled and looked at his feet. “do you, uh, want to come? it’ll be a lot of fun.”
you felt your cheeks turn hot. “oh, i really shouldn’t intrude - “ something about jungkook inviting you out to a social setting made you nervous like a school girl.
“no! no, it’s no intrusion at all,” jungkook interjected, “trust me! there aren’t a lot of people our age in town and we’re all pretty close, so it’d be nice if you could meet everyone, too. jin is a really friendly person, he’ll want to meet you and make sure you’re fitting in well and everything.”
  you paused. “i don’t know. . .”
“think about it!” he continued to insist, as he reached into his jeans and pulled out his phone from his back pocket. oh no. now, you were really frozen in place.
what was it about the way jungkook made you so nervous? this was literally the little boy that used to cry if your beyblade was stronger than his. you couldn’t believe yourself.
jungkook tapped on his phone a few time and then turned it around for you. “put in your contact. i’ll text you sometime tomorrow afternoon and see if you made your mind up?”
you did, in fact, give jeon jungkook your number. your hands were quivering ever so slightly when you did, but at least you didn’t have to be the one to ask. it gave you heavy relief that you didn’t have to be the one to text first either. but, then, you came to terms with the fact that you were certainly going to be checking your phone every two minutes for a text from the man in question. this was insane.

From The Start
Semi Eita has loved you from the start
Semi x reader
wc: 2.2k
a/n: back on the grind. this fic is inspired by laufey's song from the start (i obviously don't own the song or any rights etc.) specifically the cover by Good Kid
Don’t you notice how I get quiet when there’s no one else around?
Me and you and awkward silence
You, Semi, and Shirabu have been a trio since sophomore year of college. The three of you were unfortunate enough to have a horrible anthropology professor that permanently bonded you all the way to senior year.
The three of you walked through campus laughing at a post that someone from the boy’s highschool uploaded.
“Dunno how, but it looks like Tendo ended up in Osaka.” Shirabu laughed holding his phone in front of you and Semi.
“Seems like an interesting guy.”
“Always is. I gotta head to the west side of campus today so I’ll catch you later.” Shirabu waved before walking away.
The two of you walked in silence as you approached the front gates of campus.
“Tomorrow?”
Tomorrow.”
The two of you went your separate ways.
Don’t you dare look at me that way
I don’t need reminders of how you don’t feel the same
“You know you’re not really too good at this. You should stick to the whole singing thing, Semi.” You laugh holding your face in your hands. Semi was probably about to break the rhythm game he was playing with how hard he was hitting it and how poorly he was missing.
“Shut up. I can beat the high score.”
“Maybe your own.” You hold your beer up to toast the gray haired man.
“Shut up.” He muttered. His eyes were trained on the screen.
“I’ll play the same song after you and if I win, I heard that you’re buying the next round.”
“Yeah, you’d like that wouldn’t you, ya alcoholic.” He held his hand on the final note of the song, returning his gaze to you.
You stood up from your stool, slightly wobbling as you made your way beside him.
“Hold.” You smiled, shoving the beer into his grasp. Your eyes met his, squinting with determination. For you it was a childish staring contest. For him, it was everything.
He smiled, leaning his head forward.
After about 5 seconds your body shifted in front of the game, starting it back up. Unfortunately for Semi, you were missing the notes without a beat.
About half a minute in, you turned from the game and grinned. Smiling ear to ear.
“Told you I was gonna get that drink.”
Oh the burning pain
Listening to you harp on ‘bout some new soul mate
he’s so perfect blah blah blah
“Did you hear that Yamada from psych confessed to Y/N in the courtyard today?” Shirabu asked.
Semi was laying down on Shirabu’s bed, reading his copy of this week’s volume of the shonen jump. He tilted the book forward slightly, raising an eyebrow at him.
“What else is new? People confess to her all the time.” He straightened the book.
Shirabu placed his hands behind his head, propping his feet up on the desk, releasing a small chuckle. “This time she said yes.”
Without thinking his hands crumpled the sides of the thick magazine.
“Woah there.” Shirabu swung his legs down leaning towards him. “Don’t act all upset because you didn’t act quick enough in the swarm of competition. Plus if you ruin that copy, you better have a thousand yen in your pocket.”
He quickly closed the magazine and tossed it off to him.
“I’ll see you in class.”
“I’m sure I will.” He laughed, watching his friend basically sprint out of the room.
-
Luckily, you had a routine that couldn’t be broken no matter what. Semi slowed his pace as he entered the coffee located next to Miyagi station. Catching his breath at the door, he slowly entered to see you at your usual seat, typing away at your laptop.
Siding into the seat in front of you, he forced a playful smile.
“I heard a rumor today that you’re officially off the market.” He used the tips of his fingers to close your laptop.
Immediately you felt your face start to burn.
“I am.” You smoothed your hair down with your hand, looking away.
“When did you start liking Yamada?” He asked, placing his chin in his hand.
“Well
 um
We’ve studied together sometime in the library. He seems like he’s pretty funny and a pretty decent guy. And he’s pretty handsome too.”
“Oh yeah? Why didn’t you tell me and Shirabu about him? I thought we were always in the loop?” Semi was concerned only for a moment that his questioning was sounding condescending, but your eyes immediately lit up.
Semi gave you the green light.
“Well you two have been busy with the work in your majors and sometimes when we can’t have our group study, he was always free. There was this one time
”
Semi listened to you talk about your new boyfriend for about twenty minutes before he faked a phone call and returned to the dorms.
Oh how I wish you’ll wake up one day
“You've been together for a year already and he won’t take you on dates anymore. When was the last one?” Shirabu asked you.
The two of you were sitting in an empty lecture hall, passing back and forth crumpled paper.
“It’s busy this semester. Midterms and all.” You threw the ball towards your friend.
“You said he hasn’t taken you out since the beginning of summer break.”
He threw it back.
You sighed, crumbling the paper again, hoping it’ll keep its shape. “We had a misunderstanding. You know this.”
Throw.
“Yeah he doesn’t want you to be friends with us anymore.”
Throw.
“Well I defended you too and we’re still friends.”
Throw.
“In empty classrooms when he’s not on campus-“
“Hey, sorry I’m late.” Semi entered the room, placing his guitar case by the front door.
“Band’s been practicing pretty late recently.” He took a seat across from you.
“Any particular reason?” You ask.
“Actually, yeah.” He took a piece of paper from his coat pocket and unfolded it in front of you.
“Our first gig.” he said proudly.
“No way!” You nearly shouted, your eyes quickly skimmed the page.
“We’re there.” You smiled.
“We?” The boys said in unison.
“He can’t tell me not to be friends with you guys. If it’s gonna work out he’s gonna have to accept it.” You said defiantly.
-
“I said you can’t be friends with them! How am I supposed to be with you if I can’t even trust you?”
“They’re my best friends! What’s the difference between being with them rather than being with two girls all the time?”
“Two girls wouldn’t want you!”
“Sexuality is a spectrum!” You countered.
“I knew you’ve been sneaking around me.” He pointed a finger at you from across the room amidst his pacing.
“I’m not sneaking around! I’m spending time with my friends!”
“Friends that want to nail you!”
“Untrue! They tried so hard to be your friend-“
“Yeah the punk one tried a little too damn hard-“
“What’s that supposed to mean?!”
“Are you stupid?” He quit pacing, cocking his head at you.
“Apparently.” You crossed your arms.
“Go to his show by yourself if he’s so important to you, but if you do, don’t come back.”
Run to me confess your love, at least just let me say
That when I talk to you
Oh, Cupid walks right through and shoots an arrow through my heart
And yes I sound like a loon
But don’t you feel it too
Confess I loved you from the start
You stood in the crowd next to Shirabu in awe. From the first note that came out of Semi’s mouth his eyes never left yours.
As the instrumental progressed you looked to your friend and he nodded back towards you sympathetically.
What’s a boy to do?
Staring in my bed, staring into the blue
It was dipping into the cold months of winter. The four of you sat in the library studying for finals. Hours of silence with small talk here and there.
Semi anxiously glanced at his phone, waiting for the clock to strike midnight.
“Hey. King Gnu just dropped a new song.” He whispered to you, passing a wired earbud.
“Just now?”
“Just now.”
Yamada sleepily looked up at the two of you, finally finishing up his notes. You gently nodded your head listening to the music, Semi did the same, but he never looked away from you.
“Babe.” He quickly shut his notebook.
“It’s getting kinda late. I think we should head out.”
You pulled the earbud out of your ear. “Aw, really? I was just getting in the zone!”
“Please?” He smiled.
“Okay.”
Unrequited, terrifying
Love is driving me a bit insane
“What do you mean he doesn’t want you to hang out with us?!” Semi’s voice faltered. Shirabu and Semi sat on the floor of your dorm room, staring up at you.
“I don’t know. He just says for us to move forward together I need to be willing to put distance between you guys
”
“So you’re cutting us off?” Semi rose to his feet, standing toe to toe with you.
“For some dude?”
“Obviously, not.”
“So are you going to break up then?”
“No, I-”
“We’re supposed to be your best friends! We’ve been attached at the hip everyday for the last two years and now you’re letting me go?” He frowned at you. Shirabu remained silent.
“That’s not what’s happening!”
“Then what is?” He stared at you blankly.
A moment passed.
“Exactly.” He pulled his backpack over his shoulder.
“I’ll see you after spring break , Kenji.” He left the dorm without turning back.
Have to get his off my chest,
I’m telling you today
He sang the chorus, pulling the mic to his lips.
Going into the summer, Semi slowly came around you and shirabu again for the secret hangouts, at arm's length. You never understood why, but now it’s all coming together

“Where’s Yamada?” Shirabu yelled over the music.
“He broke up with me before I came here.” You yelled, not taking your eyes off of Semi.
It was all coming together.
I know I’ve loved you from the start
Hanging on the last note, the crowd erupted into cheers.
“Thank you everyone!” He laughed into the mic. “Thank you to everyone who came out to support our first gig! I wrote this song with a special someone in mind.” He talked to the audience with ease, finally taking in the front of him.
“I think we can call it a hopeless confession, but now that I’ve got that out of the way we have a couple more songs to play for you!”
The crowd cheered again.
He played the opening chords to next song before you turned to Shirabu, pulling the sleeve to his jacket to bring him down to your height.
“I don’t get it!”
“Don’t act like that I know you do!”
It was all coming together quickly. All of his quirks that you thought were just him were making sense. He knew all of your orders without having to tell him. He always brought a jacket when the weather would be slightly too chilly when you thought you didn’t need one, which seemed like always. He always needed to study harder even though he was at the top of the dean’s list because you always needed a body double before a test. So many things

“I didn’t realize!”
“You’re both kind of stupid!”
“What?!”
“You’re stupid!” He yelled right in your ear. You slapped him.
“What!? It was fun watching and waiting!”
“You knew?”
“So did you!”
The two of you continued to bicker til the set drew to the close. Semi started making his thank yous to the crowd once again. You quickly moved to the side of the stage where they’d exit from the second the last chord played.
The crowd clapped and whistled as him and his band exited the stage. You hadn’t even realized a line of other girls.
Before he could even raise a hand to greet them, you grabbed the hem of his shirt and dragged him to the back of the venue followed by protests from his new proclaimed fan girls.
Semi’s brazen confidence from being on stage seemed to falter with each step. You kept grip of his shirt without looking at him.
“So what did you think of the set list?” He wondered aloud. You finally turned your body to look at him. Your face was unreadable.
“I think it was pretty nice to be up on a real stage for once. The bright lights made it feel pretty real despite this place being so small.”
Nothing. But now your eyebrows were furrowed.
“I really think you-” it happened so slowly yet so quickly, placing both of your hands on each side of his face, tucking his sweaty hair behind his ear, you pulled him forward for a kiss.
His body couldn’t even begin to react before you pulled away. Your fingertips gently caressing his cheeks.
“Where’s Yamada?”
“We broke up. I think he saw what I couldn’t all this time
”
“Wait, actually?” His hands rose to grasp yours. His eyes had a small sparkle.
“Wait a second, you just kissed me?” He mumbled. The next band’s song began to play. You nodded earnestly.
“Can we have a second take on that?” He shouted over the music. His hands slid down your arms to slither around your waist.
He didn’t wait for you to answer before pulling you into another kiss. Moving your lips to his ear you said loud enough for him to hear. “I think I’ve loved you from the start.”

Tumblr media
You never expected to be here with Kuroo on his knees for you. It had started off as nothing more than an inspired little thought that struck you one day when you'd had enough of seeing Kuroo walk around like he was some kind of god's gift to mortals.
You'd done your best to ignore it all through high school; suffering through 3 years worth of his witty remarks, of the smirk that seemed a permanent addition to his face, of watching girls (and sometimes boys) fawning over him wherever he went.
It's only when you walk into your first lecture at university to find Kuroo sitting near the front of the class, eyebrow raised with a pleased grin playing about his lips as he watches you, that you decide it's finally time to teach him a lesson.
Like hell you're going to put up with this for another 3 years. This is a man who needs to be humbled. And now is the time to do it.
You know you're exactly the right person to do it. You've always been aware that you've been on Kuroo's radar but never had any interest in remotely entertaining the idea. He was already arrogant and had his arrogance fed by everyone around him throughout school, from his volleyball team to the teachers in class, and students from Nekoma and beyond. There was no way you were going to contribute to his inflating ego.
But now you're both at university there's something vaguely interesting about playing a little game with him. It wouldn't work to be too obvious with it - a snarky comment or public take down would be ineffective. Something that he could easily shrug off.
No. Let him think he's got you in the palm of his hand. That somehow, after all these years, the quadruple threat of his charm, wit, intelligence and good looks had finally worked their magic on you. Then slowly begin to pull the rug out from under his feet, little by little.
Make him work for it, make him beg, make him lose all composure. Then floor him.
The image of Kuroo flustered before you, realising that he's been outmanoeuvred, sends jolts through your veins. Your course has been set.
Let the games begin.
It starts off fairly simple with increased eye contact and lingering looks during class. Nothing too intense or sudden as this would seem suspicious after years of ignoring him. Nor anything too forward to give the impression that you were pursuing him.
He initially seems surprised but pleased with the attention. Of course he does. You throw in a few little comments now and then; saying hello to him when you pass in the hallway or actually responding if he asks you a question in class. It doesn't take much before he bites.
You begin to notice how his eyes follow you wherever you go, how he starts off making eye contact with you before roaming his eyes down as you walk away. Let him look. On occasion you allow your eyes to do the same to give him the impression that these admiring looks are reciprocated. And although it's mostly all part of the game, you can't deny that he is pleasing to look at, in a way. And hey, why not enjoy your mission whilst you’re on it?
One morning he shows up at your table with an extra coffee.
"For me?" you feign surprise. "Thanks, I don't drink coffee though." You pass it off to your best friend next to you and study his reaction. He shrugs but you can see him falter behind his carefully curated mask.
He tries casually extending invitations to house parties and study sessions, all of which you turn down much to the surprise of your envious classmates. He asks for your number, pretending it would be helpful if he has questions about assignments even though you know he's smart enough not to need help. Sometimes you entertain his fake questions or social texts to give him just enough to keep him interested, but mostly you ignore these too.
He shows up to the lab more frequently and stays longer into the nights when you're there working away on experiments for your assignments. You find excuses to sit at the same table as him, sitting just a little too close so that your arm or leg brushes against his. He responds in kind.
On day's when you're feeling particularly mischievous you play around with the lab equipment to see if anything sparks a reaction; suggestively grasping full-bodied glasses, slowly grinding materials down with a mortar and pestle, firmly and repeatedly squeezing the nib of pipettes whilst maintaining eye contact. Kuroo always watches you keenly during these, but the last one in particular causes his nostrils to flare and the tips of his ears to turn ever so slightly pink.
After months of toying with him you decide to kick things up a notch. He texts you to ask if you'll be going to the upcoming Halloween social, you say you'll see how you feel on the night though you've been planning to go with your friends all along.
You spend the evening putting on your fancy dress outfit and getting ready with your housemates. You've all decided to go for matching catsuits in different colours. You choose the red one. You make an effort to look good, as you always do, not for anyone else's pleasure but your own. Looking in the mirror you know what Kuroo's reaction will be.
He's not there when you arrive even though the party is well under way by then. You spend most of the night dancing with your friends and having a good time. It must be nearing midnight when you feel the intensity of a pair of eyes on you and look over to see Kuroo with a group of boys. He's wearing a tightly fitted shirt and trousers that shows off his slender but muscular form, though doesn't seem particularly Halloweeny to you. You make your way over to the drinks table and it isn't until he approaches you that you see the drops of blood on the shirt and the bloody handprint on his throat.
He sees your eyes linger at his neck and smiles, showing off a pair of fangs. He bends down towards your ear.
"Like what you see?" He purrs. There it is. That arrogance. He's so sure of himself.
You ignore him whilst you pour yourself a drink. Once you're done you glance back at him.
"I could ask you the same thing. You're the one who can't take his eyes off of me."
Kuroo leans against the table looking down at you with his eyebrow raised. "Is that so?"
"Well, I guess I'm pretty hard to miss huh?" As you say this you slowly run your hand down your chest and stomach, bringing it to rest on your hip and watch as his gaze follows. His eyes flicker back up to yours and even in the low light you can see the desire burning in them. He steps towards you.
"I certainly wouldn't say no to a taste of you," he flashes you a toothy grin, his fake fangs glinting in the light. You suppress the instinct to roll your eyes.
"Hmm..." you say instead, as though you're pondering this. You step forwards, closing the gap between the two of you. You've never stood this close to Kuroo before and it's only now that you realise just how tall he is. You elevate yourself on your tip toes slightly to bring yourself closer to his face. He smirks and dips his head down to meet yours.
Just when his face is about to meet yours, you divert to the side so your mouth is by his ear, and bring your hand up to gently place over the handprint on his throat.
"Come back to me when you have more enthusiasm and we'll see then." You quickly release his throat and walk away from him, disappearing back into the crowd to find your friends. It's an effort not to turn back to see his reaction but it gives you satisfaction knowing that you'll be able to see an even better one soon.
Your plan of teasingly enticing him with just a little but then snatching it away again works just as you expected it to. Of course it does. Kuroo is not the kind of guy who has ever been denied anything and knowing that he just might get what he's after is enough to incentivize him to work even harder for it. You know that you have him now, he can't possibly walk away from something he wants but can't get with his pride intact.
Little does he know that there's no outcome for him where he walks away from you with any pride intact.
Over the next few weeks you continue to make little comments to him in passing, leaning over him at the lab tables to reach things instead of asking for them, pressing up against him when making your way down the busy hallways. You're pleased at the effect it has as you begin to see him unravel. The stumbling over his words, the flushed looks on his face, knocking things over in class. The one that gets you the most is the surreptitiously placed bag held in front of his crotch.
One evening, whilst you're at home doing some extra reading for class, you receive a text that brings a smirk of its own to your face. A single line that reads: I can't stop thinking about you.
You feel gleeful at this admission that you're on his mind so much. That you've brought him to a place where he's openly admitting it. You briefly consider not responding but you've done your work for the day and are feeling playful.
You shoot a message back: Oh, and what do you want to achieve by telling me that?
A few minutes pass by before your phone vibrates with another message. I want you.
You take some time before replying, considering your options and the short, directness of his messages. You begin to type a reply: tell me
before deleting it and rewriting the message. For a brief second you hesitate before sending it, before committing to the fork in the road you're about to go down. You hate to admit it but your heart begins to beat a little faster.
Show me how much you want me
There's a much longer pause this time and you start to wonder if maybe you've miscalculated. You set your phone to the side and go to the kitchen to grab a drink, stopping to talk to your housemate about the new show he’s obsessively bingeing on the couch. By the time you return, there's a picture message waiting for you.
You open the message. There's no text attached, just an image of Kuroo's hard on through his grey tracksuits. You smile and thumb another response.
Not quite good enough. Try again. And don't keep me waiting this time.
A few minutes later your phone vibrates with another picture. You open it. A hot flush creeps up your neck and a grin spreads across your face.
This time his tracksuit bottoms have been pulled down to reveal the full package. Kuroo's long, thick dick is on display for your private viewing and you're pleased with what you see. Of course he's big. Of course he's thick. His right hand rests towards the base, almost nonchalantly, as if it just so happened to rest there. But knowing Kuroo it was a planned move. He's aware of how big his hands are and how he can use them as an effective scale here.
You tilt your head to the side and can't help but think what it would be like to have this inside of you. You feel your clit tingle, the wetness that's been building. Well, you don't have to wonder. There's an easy way to find out. You glance at the clock to check the time.
Do you know the office across the hall from the labs?
A few seconds later you get a reply. Yes.
As you head off to the bathroom for a quick shower you shoot off another message: Meet me there in half an hour.
You take your time getting ready, fully intending to be late. To keep Kuroo waiting. On your way out of the door one of your housemates asks you where you're going and laughs when you respond that you're on your way to meet Kuroo as there's something he's helping you with.
"Oh? What could Kuroo possibly help you with at this time of night?" she asks with her hand on her hip, a knowing smile on her face.
You throw up a peace sign as you close the door behind you and make your way through campus to the building where your labs are, and the office where Kuroo is waiting for you.
When you finally open the door to the office, you're greeted by Kuroo leaning against one of the desks. As you close the door, you take a few moments to roll the blackout blind down and lock the door behind you. The building is always empty at this time but you don't want to be interrupted.
"Took your time," he remarks lowly, quirking his eyebrow up.
You walk slowly across the room, bringing yourself to a pause in front of him. Although he's shorter from leaning against the desk, he's so tall that you still have to look up at him. Not for much longer. Soon it'll be him who will be looking up at you.
"Oh, were you getting impatient?" You flash him one of his own trademark smirks.
"I'm sure you'd love that, as if you haven't kept me waiting long enough," he scoffs. You bring your face up towards his until your lips are almost touching.
"Careful," you growl. "Or you'll be waiting even longer."
You watch as a blush spreads across his face. You know how much he wants to retort, you can see him having to hold it back, and you get a kick out of silencing him. He wants to bite back, but he wants you more.
You reach up and run a finger lightly over his bottom lip then down to trace his jaw as you hum. His eyes watch you keenly.
"Now, where were we?" You run your finger down his throat, pausing at the bottom. "I believe you were showing me how much you want me but you seem to be awfully overdressed for that, don't you think?"
You feel him swallow and his pulse quicken. You pull at the top of his jumper.
"Take it off."
He reaches down to pull his hoodie over his head and throws it carelessly onto the floor behind you. You take your time, letting your eyes slide over his body. You knew he was fit, you could tell from how toned his arms were, from the way his clothes hugged his frame, but you hadn't expected him to be quite so... ripped.
You step forward so that your bodies meet and then, this time, bring your lips to meet his. Kuroo’s lips are surprisingly soft but his kiss is firm. As you begin to intensify the kiss and part his lips to slip your tongue inside, he begins to kiss back more hungrily and you feel his arms snake around your hips, his hands eagerly roaming your body.
Without breaking the kiss, you reach around to unwrap his arms and pin his hands either side of him on the desk.
"Uh, uh," you whisper into his mouth. "I didn't say you could touch me. You haven't earned that privilege." He lets a little groan slip out as you return to making out with him and that's when you feel the hardness of his dick pressing against your stomach.
You want to stop for a moment to laugh because of course this arrogant, spoiled little shit gets off on being told what he can and can't do.
You let go of one of his hands, bringing yours back to continue lightly tracing down his chest as you kiss. You break away.
"So tell me Kuroo, what was it you wanted from me?"
Let him think he's going to get it. As you look up at him with a feigned coy look, you can see the hazy look of desire in his eyes, the flare of his nostrils.
"I want you..." he murmurs. You've never heard his voice so low.
You smile as you drag your fingers slowly down his torso. He bites his lip.
"Tell me, stop holding out on the details."
"Uh...well. I'm sure you can see how turned on you make me." You bring your hand lower, right to the waistband of his tracksuit pants. You glance down and bite your own lip as you take in the outline of his dick showing through them, humming your acknowledgement before looking back at him.
"I haven't been able to stop thinking about the feel of your body pressing against me and what it would be like to have your skin rubbing against mine." You stretch up to place light kisses on his neck, your hand still resting against his waistband.
"I've been thinking about how much I want to kiss you, to know what you taste like..." As he continues to talk you pause your kissing of his neck for a second to lightly and ever so briefly stroke your fingers up his length. Kuroo gasps as though he's been electrocuted.
"God, I want to fuck you so bad. I want to feel my dick in your pussy. It's all I can think about."
You have to admit that you're affected. You can feel how wet you are, how much you want him in this moment. And though your own heart rate is picking up and you want to throw him back onto the desk so that you can climb on top of him, you know that you're not ready for this game to be over. It would be too easy to end it here.
Instead, you step away from him.
Kuroo looks back at you, his eyebrows knitted together, confused by the sudden loss of contact. You know there must be a part of him that wonders if it's over, if that's all he's going to get. And it is, to an extent. But it's not all that you are going to get.
"Get on your knees," you order. He looks back at you blankly. "Kuroo, did I fucking stutter? Did you not hear me? I said get on your knees."
He stands up, his torso elongating in a way that shows off his abs even more. For a second you wonder if he will refuse, if his ego isn't willing to take the hit, but he simply steps to the side so that you can take a seat on the desk.
Once he's moved, you drop your trousers, step out of them and hop up onto the desk. When you're seated Kuroo looks at you and holds your gaze as he wordlessly gets down on his knees in front of you.
You take a mental photograph of this moment, the moment you've been working towards for over half a year. The perfect image of Kuroo Tetsurou on his knees for you.
"Good boy," you purr, taking note of the blush returning to his face. You file that away for later too. "Now, let me tell you about what I want, Kuroo, because you are very much mistaken if you think that this is about you. I want you to fuck me..."
You pause as you see his eyes light up and hold your finger up.
"With your mouth and your fingers." His face flickers with emotion - surprise, disappointment, desire - before he gets it back under control. "You've always been so proud of that sharp tongue of yours and those big, powerful hands. So put them to use."
He edges forwards on his knees so that he's closer to your closed legs and waits, knowing better now than to reach out. Sitting on the edge of the desk you spread your legs slowly so that he can see all of you. You watch the hunger spread like wildfire over his face.
You reach out, caressing the back of his head before grabbing a handful of his messy hair and pulling his face towards you. You feel the warmth of his mouth as he takes your clit in it and sucks. You hold back a groan. He sucks slowly a few times before you feel his tongue take a long, firm lick at your opening. At that he groans before returning to your clit. His caresses it with his mouth hungrily, alternating pressure between firm, slow sucks and lighter, quicker ones.
You lay back on the desk, your hand still running through his hair and arch your back. You can't deny it feels good or that Kuroo knows exactly what he's doing. You become completely lost in the sensation.
Before long, you become impatient. You grind your hips against his mouth, against his tongue, pushing his head further down.
"Fuck me..." You feel him pause for a second. "With your hands."
He gives you a last, long suck using his teeth lightly to nip you cheekily at the end.
"Can I stand?" he murmurs. "So I can get a better angle?"
You raise your head briefly to look down at him and consider his request. You suppose it isn't the best angle for fingering. "Yes, you may."
You lay your head back down and a moment later he's leaning over you on the desk. Before you have time to think he simultaneously pushes two fingers into you as he lowers his lips down to yours, kissing you deeply. You can taste yourself on his lips.
A groan slips out of you into his mouth.
Damnit. But it feels so good.
His fingers are long and thick, like his dick, and they fill you perfectly. He begins to thrust them in a slow rhythm whilst continuing to kiss you, and your hips respond, rising to meet him. He begins to speed up and you can hear your own wetness as his fingers slip in and out.
You grab hold of his shoulder, feeling the powerful muscles, your nails digging into his skin. You let out a long groan. It’s not enough.
"Harder, fuck me harder, Kuroo."
You hear a short huff as he laughs and responds immediately. You feel his hand pull back and then pound back into you. His eyes flick to yours and you nod for him to continue. He does it again slowly a couple of times, each one increasing in force and dragging further moans out of you.
You glance down to take in how it looks for Kuroo to be between your legs; his big hand buried in you, the taut muscles in his forearm and bicep as he thrusts in and out, the intense focus in his narrow hazel eyes, his raging erection pressed up against you and the way it smears pre-cum over your exposed thigh.
"Yes...Perfect
 keep going," you choke out.
With every thrust of his fingers, you can hear how dripping wet you are. You’re not the only one to have noticed either. Kuroo lets out a pitiful whine, his eyes closing in ecstasy.
“You’re so
 fucking
wet,” he groans. You shoot a hand out to cover his mouth.
“That’s enough out of you,” you rasp, even as you feel your clit twitch in response to his words.
He speeds up, managing to still maintain the strength and rhythm of each thrust. You drop your head back onto the desk and close your eyes, completely overtaken by how good it feels. You continue to buck your hips up to meet him as his hand comes down, and the angle of it is exactly right for his knuckles to impact against your clit each time. He keeps going.
Again, and again, and again, and again.
Your heart feels like it's about to beat out of your chest and every muscle in your body feels tense. You know you're close. You dig your nails in harder and smile when Kuroo doesn't even flinch.
"Keep going, don't stop..." you can barely catch your breath. It only takes a few more thrusts before you're there. His fingers slide forcefully inside you and his knuckles hit your clit at the exact right moment so that it sends you over the edge. You climax, feeling yourself pulsing around Kuroo's fingers as you orgasm.
"Fuuuckkk..." you hear him groan through your hand as he hovers above you, his voice dripping with arousal as you continue to contract around him. Once you've stopped you feel his fingers slowly and reluctantly slip out.
You lay there for a few moments, enjoying the high, giving your heart time to slow back to its regular pace. You let out a long exhale and look up at Kuroo, his arm propping him up as he leans on the desk. You vaguely register that there isn't even a drop of sweat on him.
As you sit up, you take a deliberate glance down and are satisfied to see he's still hard. Well, if he thinks that you're going to be doing anything about that he's got a big surprise coming. And not the kind he's probably hoping for.
"Good?" He asks, grinning. Clearly pleased with his performance. You'll give him that it was definitely good.
"Yeah, it was good.” You pause. “But I want it better."
You slide out from under him and begin pulling your trousers back on. When you look back at him, his expression is puzzled.
"I don't know what you're looking at me like that for, Kuroo. I told you that you'd be mistaken if you thought this was about you. I got what I came for and now I'm going home."
"But..."
"But what? You're not done? You wanted to fuck me with your dick? As I said, you haven't earned those privileges. Yet." You pause, letting the yet hang in the air between you. Kuroo tilts his head to the side. Confused, but also very clearly intrigued.
"What do I need to do to earn that?"
You hum mischievously, stepping closer so that you can run your hand up his chest.
"I'm sure I'll come up with something. In the meantime though," you glance meaningfully down at his dick, still standing to attention. "You can't touch yourself, I want you to save it all for me. And I want to see evidence that you're still thinking about me." At this, he raises his eyebrows.
"Don't worry, I'm not going to do anything with your images if that's what you're worried about. They're just for my own viewing pleasure. But don't try to cheat, because I'll know. And then you definitely won't get what you want."
You flash him a smile and then retreat to the door, flicking the latch to unlock the door.
"Oh, and Kuroo?"
"Hm?” He looks at you with a faint glimmer of hope.
You nod your head towards the desk. "Make sure you clean up this mess before you go."

I am hopelessly in love with this story. The imperfect people LZ and WY are with their own anxieties and fears is captured here with warmth and care. I liked the characterization of both characters very much. The way they are drawn to each other and fit in each others lives felt so natural and also realistic. LZ’s POV throughout was excellent.
Note: Just read this masterpiece again - non-stop, cuddly, in bed. ❀❀❀❀
Quotes:
Lan Zhan puts the bottle on the sink, where a couple of his plates and cups have found a semi-permanent residence. It distresses Lan Zhan a great deal, but in order to wash them, he has to unload the dishwasher first. He prefers bed to all of the above.
It’s week three, and Lan Zhan thinks he’s gotten a hang of napping instead of sleeping. Lan Zhan suspects he is lying to himself because, at this point, any vertical surface seems excruciatingly appealing. Blinking too slowly is dangerous, too.
Nestled in the crook of Lan Zhan’s left arm, A-Yuan yawns. Lan Zhan knows that there’s no one in the house to make fun of him for being too – emotional about it, but he still feels like a thief whenever he peppers those cheeks and eyebrows and tiny baby feet and hands and knees every other second.
————
Zixuan fumes, but obeys. Jiang Yanli will find it insightful. “Fine, just – be quick.”
Lan Zhan will not be quick. He needs to learn to swaddle.
“Tell me if it is too loose or too tight,” Lan Zhan says and folds one side of the blanket over Zixuan’s left side.
Working with four safety-pinned blankets is not ideal, but Lan Zhan can’t wrap Zixuan in a duvet.
“With all your Lan money, you could’ve hired someone with a baby and learn with them. And yet,” Zixuan says as Lan Zhan shoves his palm between Zixuan’s chest and the blanket.
“Loose?”
“A bit, yeah,” Zixuan agrees.
Lan Zhan unswaddles him, makes another attempt.
“With all your Jin money, you could have hired someone and make them look like Yanli-jie. And yet,” Lan Zhan says, tightening the fold. Zixuan tries to kick him through the blanket.
“Shut up,” Zixuan hisses. “You promised me a date with her.”
“I promised you her number,” Lan Zhan amends, and tugs on Zixuan’s arm. “Good?”
“Yeah, I feel like a baby in the womb.”
“Safe?”
“No, fucking wet, it’s so hot in here, unwrap me now,” Zixuan grumbles.
————
Since brother moved in, A-Yuan picked up from him something essential that Lan Zhan would never be able to deliver in a mandatory amount – smiling and laughing.
A-Yuan smiles at Lan Zhan without anything significant to summon such a reaction. Lan Zhan can be doing baby massage and A-Yuan will laugh his time through it, enjoying the touch and a song.
A-Yuan smiles at him or brother first thing in the morning, and Lan Zhan’s breath catches every time. He doesn’t know if A-Yuan would do it if it wasn’t for brother’s emotional proficiency, which took no time to spark a proper response from the boy.
With his son being a lavish source of smiles, Lan Zhan can’t help but echo them, which delights A-Yuan more than any toy or game or a daily kissing session. It’s like A-Yuan encourages him to smile, too. Not demanding – simply appreciative of Lan Zhan’s tries.
Years later, if A-Yuan decides to ask him if there’s anything he taught Lan Zhan, among other things, Lan Zhan will tell him that he taught Lan Zhan to smile.
“Love you,” Lan Zhan murmurs into A-Yuan’s palm, heading for the sunny garden. “Baba loves you very much, baobao.”
————
Lan Zhan is a shameful liar and even more shameful stalker, he realises about three minutes into digging around his bursting email box.
He is not working, he is not helping anyone in the office, he is not reading his humongous debrief paper – Lan Zhan is watching Wei Ying and A-Yuan planting tomatoes, potatoes, sweet peas, chilli peppers, and other vegetables from his shaded corner of the patio.
Lan Zhan situates his laptop on his outstretched legs so that he can see Wei Ying and A-Yuan and make sure that if Wei Ying looks at him, he won’t suspect anything. Lan Zhan thinks he is doing a good job of spying until Wei Ying winks at him and brandishes a crumbling clump of soil.
T, 42k
Summary:
Lan Zhan doesn’t flick any lights on, and the heavy darkness of the snowy day makes him feel safe and sure when he musters some semblance of his voice, but in the end, still whispers, “Welcome home, Lan Yuan.”

Perfect Eyebrows Made Easy With Semi Permanent Make Up
Eyebrow style began with the ancient Egyptians. They adorned the all seeing eye of their Sun God Ra with a very bushy eyebrow which later went on to be the symbol of Freemasonry. Another eye commonly seen in Egyptian art was the Udjat Eye which had a thinly lined eyebrow.
This thin eyebrow became very popular in the 1920’s and 30’s when Marlene Dietrich and Greta Garbo appeared on the screen with thinly plucked and penciled eyebrows

Powder Brows in Atlanta: Achieve Flawless, Natural-Looking Brows
Powder brows, also known as ombré brows, have become a popular beauty treatment in Atlanta. This semi-permanent makeup technique is designed to give individuals perfectly shaped, fuller brows with a soft, powdered effect, similar to makeup. Unlike traditional microblading, Powder Brows Atlanta use a machine to create a gradient look that is more customizable, making it suitable for various skin types and preferences.
What Are Powder Brows?
Powder brows are a semi-permanent tattoo technique that fills in your eyebrows to create a subtle, soft look. The process involves the use of a fine tattoo machine that deposits pigment into the skin. Instead of individual hair strokes, this method creates tiny dots that form a gradient from lighter at the front of the brows to darker at the ends, giving a natural, shaded appearance.
This technique is ideal for anyone who prefers a soft makeup look or wants to achieve fuller brows without the daily application of eyebrow makeup. Powder brows typically last between one to three years, depending on skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare.
Benefits of Powder Brows
Long-lasting Results: Unlike regular makeup, powder brows last for years, giving you the convenience of low-maintenance beauty.
Suitable for All Skin Types: Powder brows work well on oily skin, unlike microblading, which can sometimes fade quickly on such skin types.
Customizable Style: You can achieve various looks, from light and natural to more defined and dramatic, based on your preferences.
Less Invasive: The powder brow technique is less invasive than microblading, resulting in a more comfortable experience and less trauma to the skin.
Perfect for Sparse Brows: Whether you have thin brows due to overplucking or natural sparseness, powder brows can give you a fuller look.
The Procedure
Before the procedure, a consultation with an expert artist in Atlanta is essential. During the consultation, the artist will shape and map your brows, ensuring they are symmetrical and suit your facial features. Once the design is approved, a numbing cream is applied to reduce discomfort during the process. The artist then uses a machine to apply the pigment, creating the ombré effect. The procedure typically takes around two to three hours, including consultation and application.
Healing Process
After the treatment, the healing process begins. Your brows may appear darker initially, but they will lighten over the next few days as the skin heals. It is important to follow the aftercare instructions provided by your technician, which may include avoiding excessive moisture, touching the brows, and exposure to the sun.
Most people experience mild scabbing, and the final result is usually visible within four to six weeks. A follow-up appointment may be needed to touch up any areas that need adjustment.
Finding the Right Powder Brow Artist in Atlanta
Choosing the right artist is crucial to achieving the best results. Look for experienced technicians who are licensed and have a portfolio of work. Reading reviews and scheduling consultations can help ensure you’re in safe hands. Atlanta has a wide range of qualified professionals who specialize in Powder Brows Sandy Springs, offering top-notch services to clients looking to enhance their natural beauty.

Discover Exceptional Microblading Services Near You for Flawless Brows
If you’re searching for “microblading near me,” you’re on the path to achieving beautifully shaped and naturally fuller eyebrows that can enhance your overall appearance. Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup technique that allows you to say goodbye to daily brow grooming and hello to effortlessly perfect brows. With skilled technicians and a variety of services available nearby, you can find the right option to transform your look.
Microblading involves the use of a specialized handheld tool with ultra-fine needles to create precise, hair-like strokes in the brow area. The process begins with a thorough consultation, where your technician will assess your facial features and discuss your desired brow shape, thickness, and color. This personalized approach ensures that the final look will complement your unique features, creating symmetry and balance.
One of the most significant advantages of choosing microblading is its ability to save you time in your daily beauty routine. With microbladed brows, you can wake up each morning with perfectly shaped eyebrows without the hassle of filling them in or worrying about smudging. The results are waterproof, sweat-proof, and smudge-proof, making them ideal for busy lifestyles, active individuals, or anyone who wants to look polished without the effort.
When searching for microblading near me, it’s essential to do your research. Look for licensed and experienced technicians who have a strong portfolio of their work. Reading customer reviews and testimonials can also provide valuable insight into the quality of service and results you can expect. A reputable salon will prioritize safety and hygiene, using high-quality pigments and sterile tools to ensure a comfortable experience.
After your microblading session, you’ll enter a healing phase where it’s crucial to follow the aftercare instructions provided by your technician. This typically includes avoiding water, makeup, and excessive sweating in the brow area for a few days. Once healed, you’ll enjoy the benefits of beautifully defined brows that can last anywhere from 12 to 24 months, depending on your skin type and lifestyle.
In addition to microblading, many local salons offer touch-up services and related brow treatments, such as shading or tinting, to further enhance your look. By choosing a nearby salon, you can maintain your brows with ease and convenience, ensuring they always look their best.
Finding microblading services near you opens up opportunities for enhancing your beauty routine and embracing a more polished appearance. With skilled technicians, personalized services, and the promise of beautiful, natural-looking results, microblading can transform your brows and boost your confidence, allowing you to face each day with self-assurance and style.

"Gas jets in federal prison cells denied by commissioner," Montreal Star. December 16, 1969. Page 3. --- Canadian Press OTTAWA - Penitentiaries Commissioner Allen J. MacLeod denied yesterday that cells at a federal prison near Montreal are equipped with gas jets to quell excited prisoners.
But Mr. MacLeod said in an interview the contention that prisoners are frequently gassed as a control measure is "ridiculous it's just not true.'
However, he said that guards in some prisons carry cans of "tear gas. shall we say," as a defence against violent prisoners.
The contention that gas jets are installed in the ceilings of the special correctional unit at St. Vincent de Paul Penitentiary was made by Robert J. Deslauriers, assistant research director for the Public Service Alliance of Canada, and backed up by a correctional officer.
They were part of a union move seeking better wages and working conditions for about 2,000 federal prison employees. A dispute with the treasury board, the federal bargaining agent, is before an arbitration tribunal headed by Mr. Justice André Montpetit of Montreal, a Quebec Superior Court judge.
His eyebrows rose somewhat as Mr. Deslauriers, reading a brief, said that guards at St. Vincent de Paul "are constantly bombarded by sudden deafening outbursts of yells and cries of men clinging to cell bars screaming to high heaven about their desperate state, of others being gassed to semi-consciousness by the emission of gas through jets permanently installed in the wall or ceiling of the cells, of dealing with homosexuality."
Mr. Justice Montpetit interrupted to ask who had written this and Mr. Deslauriers said he had.
The vivid description was used to illustrate the need for shorter hours, a shorter working career and better pay for guards. The brief frequently mentioned the depressing and dangerous aspects of the work. It said that since a rehabilitation program gave prisoners more freedom of movement in 1961, violent incidents in which guards have been injured, held hostage or killed has numbered in the hundreds. Mr. Deslauriers said in an interview he visited the special correctional unit in 1967, before it was opened, and was shown the gas jets by a reluctant warden.
"He didn't want to show them to me." Mr. Deslauriers said. "I mentioned that's how you treat animals.
"Whether or not they use it, it's inhumane."
A guard, also helping present the union brief, said the jets have been used often since the prison opened. It is designed for hard-core prisoners who don't respond to incentives to rehabilitation in other institutions.
Mr. MacLeod said there is a special program "for trouble-makers" at the special unit but the gas jets were news to him. Negotiations between the guards and the government collapsed several weeks ago after the government put an offer of two per cent on the table.
The guards said the government position also would remove some of the benefits they now enjoy.
At least 10 of the 26 points they raised for arbitration yesterday were rejected by treasury board negotiators as non-negotiable.
The guards, who staff 34 federal institutions, have voted to hold an illegal strike if progress isn't made in arbitration.
Their brief said the government has consistently refused to recognize their special occupational problems and an explosive situation has developed as a result.
They are asking an average 13.7- per-cent wage increase retroactive to Oct. 1, 1968, and an average 8.5 per cent retroactive to Oct. 1, 1969.
This would raise the maximum in the lowest grade to $7,812 from the current $6,133 and in the highest to $9,928 from $7,843,
Among the union demands rejected as non-negotiable by the treasury board bargainers:
-A $25-a-shift bonus for handling canine patrols so vicious the guards are often bitten.
-Access to personal files to counter mistakes or "slanderous" reports. -$1,000 annual bonuses for work in maximum security prisons rather than the present $700.
"Rehabilitation leave" at age 55 or after 25 years of service, with pension at 60.
The brief said a man needs some time to get straightened out after 25 years of work in a federal prison.

Ultimate Guide to Permanent Makeup: The Future of Effortless Beauty
In today’s fast-paced world, maintaining flawless makeup every day can be time-consuming. Imagine waking up with perfectly defined eyebrows, eyeliner, or lips without any effort! This dream is now a reality thanks to the growing popularity of permanent makeup. If you're curious about how permanent makeup clinics work, and whether this beauty treatment is right for you, read on!
What is Permanent Makeup?
Permanent makeup, also known as micropigmentation, is a cosmetic procedure that uses specialized techniques to apply semi-permanent pigment to the skin. It’s often used to enhance facial features like eyebrows, eyeliner, and lips. The result is long-lasting, natural-looking makeup that reduces the need for daily touch-ups.
Services Offered by Permanent Makeup Clinics
Permanent makeup clinics offer a range of services designed to enhance your natural beauty. Here are some of the most popular treatments available:
Eyebrows (Microblading) Microblading is a semi-permanent tattooing technique used to fill in sparse eyebrows or reshape them for a fuller, more defined look. A technician uses a handheld tool to create fine, hair-like strokes that mimic natural brows.
Eyeliner Permanent eyeliner enhances the eyes by defining the lash line. Depending on your preference, you can opt for a subtle, natural look or a more dramatic, bold style.
Lip Blushing Lip blushing gives the lips a natural tint and fuller appearance. This treatment adds definition to the lips, making them look fuller and more symmetrical while reducing the need for lipstick.
Scalp Micropigmentation For those dealing with thinning hair or bald spots, scalp micropigmentation offers a solution by replicating hair follicles and creating the illusion of denser hair.
Benefits of Permanent Makeup
Permanent makeup has gained popularity for many reasons:
Time-Saving: No more spending hours applying and reapplying makeup.
Waterproof: Your makeup stays intact whether you’re sweating, swimming, or in humid conditions.
Smudge-Free: No need to worry about your eyeliner smudging or your lipstick fading.
Customizable: You can choose the shade, thickness, and style that suits your personal preferences.
Long-Lasting: Depending on the procedure, results can last from 1 to 3 years before a touch-up is required.
What to Expect at a Permanent Makeup Clinic
When you visit a permanent makeup clinic, the process begins with a consultation. During this session, the specialist will discuss your beauty goals and assess your skin type. After agreeing on the desired look, they’ll apply a numbing cream to minimize discomfort during the procedure.
Most procedures last between 1-3 hours, depending on the area being treated. Aftercare instructions will be provided, which may include avoiding direct sunlight, water exposure, and certain skincare products for a few days.
How to Choose the Right Permanent Makeup Clinic
Here are some key factors to consider when choosing a permanent makeup clinic:
Certification and Experience Ensure that the clinic is licensed and the technicians are certified in permanent makeup techniques. Experienced professionals will provide better results and ensure your safety.
Portfolio Look at the clinic’s portfolio to see examples of their previous work. A reputable clinic will have before-and-after photos showcasing their skills.
Reviews and Recommendations Check online reviews and seek recommendations from friends or acquaintances who have had the procedure done. Positive feedback from previous clients can give you confidence in your choice.
Hygiene Standards Ensure the clinic follows strict hygiene protocols, such as using sterilized equipment and disposable needles, to minimize the risk of infection.
Is Permanent Makeup Right for You?
Permanent makeup is suitable for anyone looking for a low-maintenance beauty routine. It’s particularly beneficial for those with:
Sparse or thinning eyebrows
Allergies to traditional makeup products
Busy lifestyles
Difficulty applying makeup due to medical conditions like arthritis or poor vision
However, it's important to remember that permanent makeup may not be suitable for everyone, particularly those with certain skin conditions, allergies, or sensitivities.
Conclusion
Permanent makeup clinics offer an innovative solution for individuals seeking hassle-free beauty. Whether you're looking to enhance your eyebrows, lips, or eyeliner, these procedures provide long-lasting results that save time and effort. When choosing a clinic, prioritize safety, experience, and a personalized approach to ensure you get the best results.
Thinking of taking the plunge? Visit a professional permanent makeup clinic today and wake up flawless every day!

At its core, brow embroidery is essentially a semi-permanent makeup procedure, where pigments are inserted into the epidermis to form a natural, natural-looking shape for the eyebrows. This procedure requires a unique skill set as it requires an evenly distributed application of pigment to create a consistent, desired brow shape.
Brow embroidery in Singapore has become increasingly popular for those who are looking for fuller, well-defined eyebrows that can last up to 3 years.
Below are the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions:
Tumblr media

2. Is Brow Embroidery In Singapore Painful?
The areas that require treatment are numbed using a topical numbing cream beforehand. As such, you will feel minimal to no pain during the procedure. Following brow embroidery, you may feel a little tenderness and redness in the area. However, this is normal and should subside within a day or two.

6. What Aftercare Is Required?
Post-treatment, your technician will provide instructions for aftercare. It includes avoiding activities that would cause excessive sweat or steam on the eyebrows, such as washing dishes, exercising, and taking hot showers. In addition, you should avoid exposing the area to the sun and use a non-fragranced moisturiser.
7. Are There Any Risks Involved?
