hate my sister's shitty good for nothing boyfriend. can you imagine being a 30yo man with two kids who won't even scramble an egg. Not for his kids, not for his girlfriend, not for himself. literally if my sister doesn't leave out pre-made meals when he's watching the kids he will rip up bread or pour them dry cereal or open a granola bar and make himself microwave dinners. like, lowest effort possible. but if i mention this to my sis, she'll be like "no he's definitely cooked for the kids! he scrambled an egg for them once! i watched him do it!" but it's like...so he scrambled one egg in the last five years. just to like, prove he can? at your direct insistence? should we all clap? like seriously. hate this guy. had to really hold back recently because he had someone over and he was interacting with the kids more than usual for appearances, and he had to keep asking me and my sis what the 5yo was signing because he barely bothered to learn his own son's primary form of communication. i was so tempted to say "that one means 'go home' but you wouldn't know that because you don't take them anywhere." so hard to hold that in. If I had to describe this man in two words they would be these: Low Effort. Not quite bare minimum, but JUST enough to convince my sister that it would be too much hassle to get rid of him. he's stupid as fuck, but just smart enough to quickly stop shit like screaming obscenities at the kids for doing normal kid things. and he once stomped on my headphones and broke them in a fit of rage, but gave my sister money to replace them so it was "fine." Like, my sister thinks that he's just struggling with his anger issues, because he had a bad childhood, blah, blah, and oh he would never actually hurt her or the kids. and like, good for you, but i don't trust like that. genuinely hoping he gets struck by lightning and dies instantly.
#my sister and i do all the hard stuff and most of the easy stuff too tbh#cooking and cleaning and sorting out benefits and insurances and getting the kids to school and events#doctor's appointments and medications and dentist appointments and taxes#we get the groceries and care for all the pets and kids and household things#we both have jobs#i actually have 3 jobs#good for nothing boyfriend makes $12 a year plus some under the table cash as a “private trainer”#which means between that and selling his plasma and borrowing money from his mom he can...pay his super cheap tiny part of rent#and occasionally hand my sister like $20#he doesn't buy groceries or diapers or household supplies or clothing or toys or literally anything#literally the only household chore he does is fold laundry#that's it. and it's not “DO” laundry. it's just folding the clean and dry stuff#you know. the chore my parents would have us do when we were like 10 so we'd feel helpful#the 5yo is medically complex and we frequently make trips to a slightly distant hospital with him#and they literally asked us to stop bringing my sister's boyfriend along because he was disruptive and confusing#which was a polite way to say 'obnoxious and stupid as shit'#do you know how many times in one visit w/the same doctor he would ask 'so when does he get superpowers?'#he also obviously didn't know how to answer basic questions like 'how many times does he poop a day on average'#and 'how often has he been eating and what has he been eating day to day?'#like bro this man can go days without changing a diaper and will not even heat up a can of spaghettios to feed his own kids#he cannot answer those questions with any kind of accuracy#also i'm saying boyfriend because my sister desperately wanted to at least be engaged so she could say fiance in front of ppl#but just like marriage this was apparently a 'waste of effort'#not even the cheapest ring or the most underwhelming proposal or a courthouse wedding was worth his energy so...#yeah glad she hasn't married this waste of air. and i'll be praying for that lightning strike

Where to Sell Your Diamond: Finding the Right Buyer
Selling your grandmother's diamond necklace or saying goodbye to your engagement ring can be a tough choice, but when it's time to let go, you want to make sure you get the best deal. So, here we've put together this guide to help you navigate the options and find the best place to sell your diamond. We'll cover everything from getting a fair price to finding a secure way to make the transaction.
Understanding the Diamond Selling Landscape
The diamond selling landscape offers diverse options, each with its own advantages and drawbacks. Let's explore the most common venues:
1. Local Pawn Shops:
Pros: Often the quickest and easiest option, requiring minimal effort. Pawn shops typically offer cash upfront.
Cons: Pawn shops usually don't give you a lot of money for your diamonds. They are more interested in making a quick buck than getting you the best price.
2. Auction Sites:
Pros: You can reach more people who want to buy your stuff, which could mean you get more money for it. You get to choose how much you want to start the bidding at, so you have some say in how much you end up getting.
Cons: Selling your diamond on your own can be a lot of work. You'll need to write up a clear description of your diamond and take high-quality photos. You'll also need to deal with security risks and fraudulent buyers. And don't forget about the fees that come with listing and selling your diamond.
3. Private Buyers:
Pros: You might be able to get a better deal than you would at a pawn shop, especially if the buyer is looking for a diamond with the same features as yours.
Cons: It's tough to find a private buyer you can trust. The whole thing can be confusing and shady.
4. Jewellers:
Pros: Jewelry experts know their stuff when it comes to valuing diamonds. And if you want to trade your diamond for a new piece of jewellery, they might give you a decent deal
Cons: Jewelry stores are mainly interested in making money, so they might not offer the best price you can find. Not all jewellers are willing to pay cash for diamonds, either.
Finding the Perfect Match for Your Needs
Now that you understand the various options, let's delve into the key factors to consider when making your decision:
1. Price:
Market Value: Research the estimated market value of your diamond based on its carat weight, cut, clarity, colour, and any certifications it has. This will give you a benchmark for negotiation.
Offers Received: Compare offers from different buyers to see who is offering the most competitive price. Consider the final net amount after accounting for any fees or commissions.
2. Convenience:
Time: How quickly do you need to sell your diamond? Pawn shops and online marketplaces can offer a fast turnaround while selling privately or to jewellers might take longer.
Effort Involved: Selling online requires creating listings and managing communications with potential buyers. Pawn shops and reputable online diamond buyers typically handle most of the work.
3. Security & Trust:
Reputation: Always research the buyer's reputation before proceeding. Look for online reviews and testimonials, and choose a company with a proven track record.
Security Measures: Reputable online diamond buyers should offer insured shipping and a secure payment process. Choose a company with clear communication regarding their security protocols.
4. Transparency & Communication:
Valuation Process: Understand how the buyer determines the value of your diamond. Reputable sellers should outline their valuation process and provide detailed explanations.
Communication Style: Choose a buyer who is easily reachable and responds promptly to your questions and concerns. Clear communication throughout the process fosters trust.
Considering Reputable Online Diamond Buyers? Here's what Diamond ICQ Offers:
Diamond ICQ is a reputable online diamond buyer specialising in providing a convenient and secure way to sell your diamond jewellery for cash. Here's how they can potentially be a good fit for your needs:
Competitive Offers: Diamond ICQ strives to offer fair and competitive prices for your diamonds based on current market value and their expert evaluation.
Fast and Secure Process: Their streamlined online system allows you to receive a free quote and schedule an appointment (if needed) to finalise the sale quickly and securely.

“Price won’t let a divorce stop him from being with his wife“
“Like he's taunting you but also not”
this delights me to no end because yeah, he probably signed the papers to make you happy or give you some kind of peace of mind but you’ll always be his—it doesn’t matter if you take off the ring or yell at him, you were his the moment you met, his when you said yes, and you’ll always be tied to because you bore his child. It’s not malicious, not from him—but he locked you down with no real intention of ever letting go, silly papers or not, and that is utterly delightful to me
Or maybe none of this but idk I’m a simp and I love your brain
In this particular verse, it's exactly this. When you first told Price that you were divorcing him, sure it momentarily stung because he hadn't seen it coming (he knew you were frustrated with constantly moving and the military lifestyle, but he thought you'd come to terms with it over the years) and it came as a shock, followed by the immediate thought of, "What did I do? Could I have stopped this?"
But that initial feeling of hurt very quickly falls away to just "Alright, it is what it is." If anything, he approaches the divorce as just another chapter in your story. A fun little side journey. It's not like either of you two would be moving on.
You still have his boys at home and he still has a key to your house (technically, his house too because the house is in both of your names; you didn't sell it because you bought it before property values started going up and it just doesn't make sense to sell the house when it's the perfect distance between school and your work). You still keep his ring in your jewellery box with your other rings and earrings, so he knows you haven't parted with it quite yet (you probably would've made a bit of extra cash if you'd pawned it, but you didn't).
Because he knows that it wasn't totally his fault. In essence yes, it was, because of his job, but it wasn't him. You never fell out of love with him. You still go to him for help around the house, still seek him out when you're in a bind or in trouble, still invite him over for dinner with your parents because your dad still loves Price (they bonded over old Louis L'Amour novels and books about Ernest Shackleton), and still look up at him with wide, desperate eyes when you're aching for it because he knows you'll never find another man that knows you as well as he does.
He's looking forward to your second wedding :) your boys could be the ring bearers this time around.

okay okay okay okay okay so at the end of The Runaway Bride Donna is still wearing the bio-damp wedding ring, right? I think she keeps it. I think at first it's just a sort of sentimental trinket- a reminder to keep traveling and explore the world and seek out the weird around her. And, well, it's a little thing, so might as well keep it on a necklace, right?
Then it comes with her on her adventures with Ten. And really it becomes less of a totem and more utilitarian. Both because of the actual bio-damp ability and because in their heart of hearts both Donna and Ten have a grifter's spirit and they WILL pretend to be married if convenient and/or funny.
Then she loses her memories. She doesn't even remember most of her failed wedding but her ring for that looked quite different and she was perfectly fine to pawn it for some quick cash. But this one. This one doesn't make sense. She asked around, of course she did, but no one around her has claimed this thing. It's just a plain gold band that happens to fit her like it was custom made, but that's not that weird, for a ring. She should sell it. She should give it away. She doesn't even need it, she has a real wedding ring now, given to her by the love of her life. Yet every time she thinks about getting rid of it, she feels a sharp pain in her chest and a tightness to her lungs, so instead she shoves it to the back of her jewelry box and tries not to think about yet another little mystery from her missing year.
14 comes into her life. Her memories come back with him. She doesn't actually remember the ring until Rose is going through her jewelry for something to wear to dinner tonight and Donna spots the chain out of the corner of her eye. She doesn't point it out, but after Rose has left she sort of. Starts wearing the necklace again. Just for her, not for anyone else, she tends to hide it under layers. The Doctor ends up spotting it. Of course he does. He looks a little stricken, recognizing it instantly, but she sends a pleading look that stops him from talking.
Rose and Shaun both talk to her about what The Doctor is to her. It feels a bit like pulling teeth, trying to explain where he fits, because best friend feels inadequate and brother isn't even close to right and she feels equally intense about The Doctor as she does about Shaun but she doesn't feel the same about them, they're different kinds of love and it's okay. They let her know it's okay. That she can have multiple people that are the loves of her life and they can be different but no lesser kinds of love and. Well. She starts wearing two wedding rings on her finger.

As exciting as it sounds, it comes with a considerable number of risks of things going completely south. All that grand gesture seems to be futile after all, and you end up getting a hole in your pocket with that proposal and ring you planned for.

Dream first date
I meet up with a man from the internet, no idea what his face looks like. I get a cheap hotel room and get a doormat and leave a key under the doormat for him and go inside to wait.
Before he arrives I strip naked, put on a blind fold, pour out some rice and kneel on the dirty hotel floor in the painful rice and wait, mouth open tongue out.
He might be an hour late or 4. Who cares.
When he gets there he walks in and doesn't speak. I'm kneeling, shaking from the pain. He grabs my hair and wretches my head back and spits in my mouth, that's my hello.
He gropes me and fingers me and inspects me as I kneel. When he's done he slaps me around to see how I take it. He then pushes my head down and with no lube, or warning begins to fuck my dry ass. I cry but you punch the back of my head and tell me to hold still until you cum. Then you make me stay kneeling in rice with cum dripping from my ass.
Then he goes to the bed and lays down. My phone is on the nightstand unlocked, with my unlocked laptop and he goes through them while laying on the comfy bed and I stay kneeling in the rice. He goes through my purse. Takes my ID, my social security card, my borth cirtoficate. He finds my wallet full of cash, he told me to cash my check before showing up. It's my rent and bill money but he takes it.
He goes through my credit cards and uses my laptop to do some online shopping. He buys shit for himself or other girls he's with and I just listen to the keyboard knowing he's spending my money. He'll tell me every time he makes a purchase. "There goes another $575 for a Dimond necklace for my other girlfriend," and "there goes 2,000 for a new gaming system for me," and "oooops that card is all maxed out. Too bad." And I hear the scissors as he cuts it up and moves on to another card.
When he's done maxing out all my credit cards he goes on my laptop to check my bank balances and browse my social media. He might post on there, I won't know for hours.
Once he's bored he will walk over to me and fuck my throat while he looks at pics of my little sister on Facebook or my best friend on Instagram. When he cums he'll begin pissing down my throat then go back and sit down and transfer money from my bank account to his. "Oh poor piggy, I took every cent you have," You'll tell me while I sob.
After you'll walk back to me and see my Dimond tennis bracelet, my sapphire earrings and necklace, and my wedding ring. All gifts from my late husband. You'll rip the necklace off me while I cry. Take off the earrings and bravelet and then make me take off my ring and hand it to you. I don't need it anymore I'm yours now.
You'll then make me get dressed and drag me roughly your car and take me to a pawn shop and make me go in and sell them all. When I come out sobbing with the ticket you'll burn it and use it to light your cigarette.
When you're done you'll put out your cigarette on my nipple and my new life will begin.
