I absolutely LOVE the Squirtle/Wartortle illustrations by kantaro in Pokemon 151!
The Squirtle jumping so joyfully from the rock into the ocean, the colors are STUNNING! I love the contrast of the Squirtle's aqua blue framed in the vivid orange sky, the soft bit of blue reflecting in its shell and its tail just catching the sun, how little and squishy its body looks as it launches itself towards the water with such tremendous excitement!
The lineless style of the background gives me the feel of a travel poster and I sense the tropical environment around it from the rocks and trees framing the corners, the waterfall splashing with as much energy as the Squirtle!
The layered blues on the surface of the water and the bubbles rising at the corner make me FEEL the liquid rising to meet the Squirtle--I can just feel how the next moment it's going to break through and be immersed in a cool island swim!
And the Wartortle running along the sunset beach, this is somehow everything I always imagined for Wartortle! I adore the way the rich purple melts into the warm red/orange sky, the matching purple clouds and shadows in the foreground, and how the dimming sunlight glows red on Wartortle's deep blues!
I love how the yellow and orange of the sky illuminate the lapping waves, I can just feel the gentle motion of the sea at dusk. The aqua color of the ocean matches Wartortle's ears and tail and sets off the red-orange sand, I just love how the colors are here!
Wartortle looks so round and squishy, I love its happiness as it goes frolicking through the shallows, chasing the bubbles caught in the setting sun! The shine and deep shadow on its shell give it an almost jewel texture like real tortoise shell; I love the silhouetted splash Wartortle leaves as it goes running across the shore. It's so full of energy and delight at the end of a gorgeous day! The colors in these are SO vivid and harmonized and the style is so cute and bursting with energy and joy. I just LOVE it (also Squirtle is my starter)

SO many beautiful illustrations (but there always are)#it's like having little pieces of art of my favorite characters and it's only.. slightly... less expensive than actually commissioning ....#i KNOW it's less expensive to buy the individuals online but it's so much less fun#part of the fun is having YOUR own pokemon journey ((going to the store)) and seeing what YOU encounter ((when you open the pack))#i do buy them online sometimes but i usually dont form as strong associations with them as when i open a pack in a certain setting or place#i tend to try to save them to open right before a significant event like starting something new or a holiday. so that i form associations#and it's like 'oh that's the galarian obstagoon from when my mom came home for christmas'#and 'that's the snorlax who reassured me when i was hurt'#i don't buy them too often so i've got to make it count#anyway i know i should wait for the prices on this one to come down because it's absolutely ridiculous#i didn't buy anything at release because i was like $6 for one booster pack??? but i couldn't take just sitting and watching them sell out#i really like the poster because i can look at so many beautiful pictures all together#i could say stuff like this about literally every pokemon illustration (if i had time to write it out) and sometimes i've wanted to#i just chose these two because these are a couple of my original favorite pokemon and i just couldn't keep it to myself. i LOVE these

*Rolls eyes.* Just holy freakin' poo! I just came across on my Facebook-roll an advertisement, using an image from the Fallout TV series - the characters standing together - advertising a service to filter out from Netflix shows all of the "profanity, nudity and objectionable content" for people who do not want it / to make things family friendly... Well, putting aside that Fallout isn't on Netflix, it's an Amazon show... I looked in on the comments to see if it was a joke and I saw people saying "I'm a Pastor and this is a godsend!" and "what a great service!" - Probably bots. But anyway... WHY Fallout used as an example for censorship? WHY. JUST WHY??? It's like, excuse me. That show starts off with a nuclear explosion and an entire children's birthday party getting thrown through plate-glass windows and then cuts to a young woman living in a Vault putting in her qualifications to be a breeder and talking to a friend about not wanting to do "cousin stuff" anymore!!! And there's a (clothed) but very rauncy sex-scene right on (you do see man-butt, but he didn't wait for his bride to get out of her dress). And shortly afterward, the bloody violence starts... And there's people losing limbs and heads and a man having every player's reaction to their first meeting with a Yao Guai (mutant bear for those non-Fallout heads reading this): "FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!!!" "Family friendly Fallout" is NOT Fallout! They're games / a series designed for us to lore-dive into an objectively horrible world, to explore the limits of ethical-questions in such a world and for those of us who are sick of Humanity in the real world to harmlessly let off stress by blowing fictional NPCs apart with rocket launchers, k? And if there's anyone out there who's like "But my kid plays the games and wants to see the show!!!" Um... do you pay attention to what your kids play? Mature rated games are rated mature for a reason! Children and the easily-offended are NOT the audience for Fallout! This ad had to not be for real. Probably links to a damn virus or something. False advertising at the least. I mean. Nope. Just no.

I am heavily contemplating on buying myself a dvd player soon and buying all the DVDs for a ton of movies and tv shows I grew up watching cuz I miss the magic of dvds
#hear me out on this one okay. but the Barbie movies were magic on dvd back in the day#and I do wanna see if stores are still selling the old strawberry shortcake dvds before I go online for those#I wanna snort that nostalgia so bad#and of course I’ll need to get the dcau on dvd#like all of it cuz I’m so bored with the dccu since we don’t get as much new stuff#it’s always Batman or superman and love them but I’m kinda bored from always seeing a new bman or sups movie#Wonder Woman I wouldn’t mind a new actor for her but I know she’s not gonna be a muscle mommy which I’ll be sad about#give me a Wonder Woman that is built like rhea ripely god damnit#the flash is eh cuz I found out this whole time I’ve been watching the Wally west flash#but yeah Wally is who I want and then there’s the green lantern like dude is so cool iams all we have is the 1 from 2011 I think#sure I could watch some of the tv series they have but I have too many shows on my watch list it’s overwhelming at times so I skip over lots#tho I will have to pray like crazy cuz some of the things I know I want are probably gonna be expensive as fuck even as second hand#saw a class of the titans season 1 dvd going for $81 cad 💀💀💀#the world is not kind to those who don’t love the digital age#I prefers my dvds cuz I own it and no one can take it away from me unless they physically steal it#omg I’m turning into my grandma cuz she still had the vhs player with some tapes too#just wish she never donated the tapes for swan princess 1-3 and Anastasia and ferngully and basically all my faves that she owned#like Ngl a part of me wants to hit up value village just to see if maybe they’re still there or if I’ll find other copies of the same things#cuz a perk about cities with older people is that you get so much older tech and other items it’s insane

#personal#WHY DO SO MANY BRANDS NOT SELL MENS XS SHIRTS#like. yes im a tiny dude i realize that#but im not exactly an outlier! if i went to a busy mall and people-watched for a bit id for sure see other guys my size#brands will put XS on their fucking size charts and then NOT MAKE ANY CLOTHES IN THAT SIZE#i shop in kids sizes sometimes to compensate but the problem is theres often not a good selection#OR the kids sizes wont go up big enough!!#and ill be right in the horrible void between standard size ranges#where do the teen boys shop. i dont believe that they all grow so fast they skip right into adult sizes#see: all those other small guys at the mall#actually what im pissed off about today is sewing patterns because THEYRE THE SAME#was looking online in preparation for a fabric store trip#like. i will be able to find something. but it might have to be a pdf pattern and im pissed off about it

What if they didn't put ads every 3 posts. Three posts between ads, literally. Not even counting the ad for Tumblr Live.
Also what if tumblr didn't know what city Im in. I do not want my location tracked or stored anywhere unless I give explicit ongoing permission, like with my GPS app that I allow to track me only when the app is open, and then it deletes the data (allegedly) when I stop giving permission.
#ugh i do SO much to try to keep my location private. i use an android with all the tracking things Off (except for my weather app#which is a highly specific app that does NOTHING except provide weather; and i have the location turned Off so it doesnt even know where i#live). my tumblr email is not connected to any real life stuff because i made it when i was very closeted and made a new email and password#for it and never linked them to anything else. i have bare minimum apps. i use firefox and duckduckgo.#for shits sake i use a small barely-known map app because any Map App that has had large success under capitalism is inevitably going to#start selling private info or working with a cheap security system designed to allow quiet data leaks.#i guess i use gmail and gphotos but my phone doesnt HAVE a native Photo App. i have to use one i download and im too damn skittish to try#i guess i did get netflix recently....sigh.... i figured they WERENT tracking me because they email me EVERY TIME I USE NETFLIX to alert me#that OHHHH A NEW DEVICE IS USING NETFLIX AAAAA WHAT IF ITS AGAINST NETFLIX POLICY OH NOOOO. so i figured they didnt have a way to ID me.#UGH. CAN I PLEASE EXIST WITHOUT BEING MONITORED FOR FIVE SECONDS. can i please access Social Media which is a shitty substitute for actual#human connection but its the best i have--without someone noting my location and then trying to sell me things??? can i please watch film???#i cant go to a theater because my region does NOT believe in covid and not even medical staff attending Very Ill Patients wear masks anymore#stupid fucking homophobic transphobic anti-vax society has made it too dangerous for me to access most Not-Online forms of enrichment. and i#cant even use the Internet (a magnificent ASTONISHING human creation) without being tracked and advertised to.#ugh..#humanity is just so cool and brave and kind and amazing and yet we have taxes and advertisment IDs and traffic and medicine shortages.#its not like the ads even work. even when it shows me stuff i DO want. i cant fucking afford things. i already have spent too much money on#things that i dont need like Good Food and Entertainment and Juice. ugh....okay i do need food and liquids....Good food even. my body cant#survive on College Foods like it could in the past. Magfest was fun! Walked around as Cammy, made a lot of “merch,” talked to a bunch of cool dudes, traded wares, met new friends and finally met old ones, got a jello shot from a Raccacoonie cosplayer, ate so much awful food, learned of new games, and got inspired.
I made so many buttons of cammypus and other funny creatures, folded 50+ origami boxes for the perler bead crafters, and drew on any paper I can find. It was nice and now I have no money.

All the colors and being surrounded by folks who enjoy the same things i do#also i got to meet an online friend of over a decade. We played games and watched anime and did what friends would do#true friendship. But now. I gotta uhh fix the things i eat because we ate nothing but carbs#i have gained five pounds. I am squishie. But iv been inspired to try and fail because hey not everyone wins on their first try#we got a free hamster plushie for a game dev company whose game HAMSTERDAMflopped#im sure making so many pkushies hey anticipated a hit. But we cant have it all#and it inspired me to just believe we’ll have a hit and do our best. And if it flops. We can try again with something else or improving#on what we had.
