I absolutely LOVE the Squirtle/Wartortle illustrations by kantaro in Pokemon 151!
The Squirtle jumping so joyfully from the rock into the ocean, the colors are STUNNING! I love the contrast of the Squirtle's aqua blue framed in the vivid orange sky, the soft bit of blue reflecting in its shell and its tail just catching the sun, how little and squishy its body looks as it launches itself towards the water with such tremendous excitement!
The lineless style of the background gives me the feel of a travel poster and I sense the tropical environment around it from the rocks and trees framing the corners, the waterfall splashing with as much energy as the Squirtle!
The layered blues on the surface of the water and the bubbles rising at the corner make me FEEL the liquid rising to meet the Squirtle--I can just feel how the next moment it's going to break through and be immersed in a cool island swim!
And the Wartortle running along the sunset beach, this is somehow everything I always imagined for Wartortle! I adore the way the rich purple melts into the warm red/orange sky, the matching purple clouds and shadows in the foreground, and how the dimming sunlight glows red on Wartortle's deep blues!
I love how the yellow and orange of the sky illuminate the lapping waves, I can just feel the gentle motion of the sea at dusk. The aqua color of the ocean matches Wartortle's ears and tail and sets off the red-orange sand, I just love how the colors are here!
Wartortle looks so round and squishy, I love its happiness as it goes frolicking through the shallows, chasing the bubbles caught in the setting sun! The shine and deep shadow on its shell give it an almost jewel texture like real tortoise shell; I love the silhouetted splash Wartortle leaves as it goes running across the shore. It's so full of energy and delight at the end of a gorgeous day! The colors in these are SO vivid and harmonized and the style is so cute and bursting with energy and joy. I just LOVE it (also Squirtle is my starter)

SO many beautiful illustrations (but there always are)#it's like having little pieces of art of my favorite characters and it's only.. slightly... less expensive than actually commissioning ....#i KNOW it's less expensive to buy the individuals online but it's so much less fun#part of the fun is having YOUR own pokemon journey ((going to the store)) and seeing what YOU encounter ((when you open the pack))#i do buy them online sometimes but i usually dont form as strong associations with them as when i open a pack in a certain setting or place#i tend to try to save them to open right before a significant event like starting something new or a holiday. so that i form associations#and it's like 'oh that's the galarian obstagoon from when my mom came home for christmas'#and 'that's the snorlax who reassured me when i was hurt'#i don't buy them too often so i've got to make it count#anyway i know i should wait for the prices on this one to come down because it's absolutely ridiculous#i didn't buy anything at release because i was like $6 for one booster pack??? but i couldn't take just sitting and watching them sell out#i really like the poster because i can look at so many beautiful pictures all together#i could say stuff like this about literally every pokemon illustration (if i had time to write it out) and sometimes i've wanted to#i just chose these two because these are a couple of my original favorite pokemon and i just couldn't keep it to myself. i LOVE these

#can you imagine if i had the ability to think through things easily and just know stuff and be able to work on this consistently#imagine! well anyway#when did i actually start the screenplay itself. i guess it was sometime last year. or the year before actually#but ive had this idea since 2019#tumblr poll do you care if my main character has an established backstory. its fine you don't need it#i think i need to have every element and detail of my story in place and making sense and then i watch a movie that has none of that#im also thinking more abt my short film idea#which is essentially a prequel of sorts to my main film idea#looking online to see what the general length of a short film should be and people..... hate living in the no attention span world#people being like if its longer than 10-15 minutes no ones gonna care/it'll be harder to sell are you fucking with me right now#its called short film not instagram reel. jesus#anyway that just means i will have to condense all my ideas which may make them funnier in doing that in a short amount of time#but you people have got to learn to sit down and watch things sometimes#its me and my screenplay against the world#<- my screenplay tag which is mostly full of posts talking about how i need to write it

*Rolls eyes.* Just holy freakin' poo! I just came across on my Facebook-roll an advertisement, using an image from the Fallout TV series - the characters standing together - advertising a service to filter out from Netflix shows all of the "profanity, nudity and objectionable content" for people who do not want it / to make things family friendly... Well, putting aside that Fallout isn't on Netflix, it's an Amazon show... I looked in on the comments to see if it was a joke and I saw people saying "I'm a Pastor and this is a godsend!" and "what a great service!" - Probably bots. But anyway... WHY Fallout used as an example for censorship? WHY. JUST WHY??? It's like, excuse me. That show starts off with a nuclear explosion and an entire children's birthday party getting thrown through plate-glass windows and then cuts to a young woman living in a Vault putting in her qualifications to be a breeder and talking to a friend about not wanting to do "cousin stuff" anymore!!! And there's a (clothed) but very rauncy sex-scene right on (you do see man-butt, but he didn't wait for his bride to get out of her dress). And shortly afterward, the bloody violence starts... And there's people losing limbs and heads and a man having every player's reaction to their first meeting with a Yao Guai (mutant bear for those non-Fallout heads reading this): "FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!!!" "Family friendly Fallout" is NOT Fallout! They're games / a series designed for us to lore-dive into an objectively horrible world, to explore the limits of ethical-questions in such a world and for those of us who are sick of Humanity in the real world to harmlessly let off stress by blowing fictional NPCs apart with rocket launchers, k? And if there's anyone out there who's like "But my kid plays the games and wants to see the show!!!" Um... do you pay attention to what your kids play? Mature rated games are rated mature for a reason! Children and the easily-offended are NOT the audience for Fallout! This ad had to not be for real. Probably links to a damn virus or something. False advertising at the least. I mean. Nope. Just no.

#personal#WHY DO SO MANY BRANDS NOT SELL MENS XS SHIRTS#like. yes im a tiny dude i realize that#but im not exactly an outlier! if i went to a busy mall and people-watched for a bit id for sure see other guys my size#brands will put XS on their fucking size charts and then NOT MAKE ANY CLOTHES IN THAT SIZE#i shop in kids sizes sometimes to compensate but the problem is theres often not a good selection#OR the kids sizes wont go up big enough!!#and ill be right in the horrible void between standard size ranges#where do the teen boys shop. i dont believe that they all grow so fast they skip right into adult sizes#see: all those other small guys at the mall#actually what im pissed off about today is sewing patterns because THEYRE THE SAME#was looking online in preparation for a fabric store trip#like. i will be able to find something. but it might have to be a pdf pattern and im pissed off about it

Magfest was fun! Walked around as Cammy, made a lot of “merch,” talked to a bunch of cool dudes, traded wares, met new friends and finally met old ones, got a jello shot from a Raccacoonie cosplayer, ate so much awful food, learned of new games, and got inspired.
I made so many buttons of cammypus and other funny creatures, folded 50+ origami boxes for the perler bead crafters, and drew on any paper I can find. It was nice and now I have no money.
#magfest#i may not have partied played video games all day or whatever but fun is diff for everyone#my fun is just seeing everyone having a good time. All the colors and being surrounded by folks who enjoy the same things i do#also i got to meet an online friend of over a decade. We played games and watched anime and did what friends would do#true friendship. But now. I gotta uhh fix the things i eat because we ate nothing but carbs#i have gained five pounds. I am squishie. But iv been inspired to try and fail because hey not everyone wins on their first try#we got a free hamster plushie for a game dev company whose game HAMSTERDAMflopped#im sure making so many pkushies hey anticipated a hit. But we cant have it all#and it inspired me to just believe we’ll have a hit and do our best. And if it flops. We can try again with something else or improving#on what we had. Thank you funny hamster plush named pim. Support their new game WILDMENDER#failure isnt the end of the world. And sometimes we’ll lose time money or effort on something that wont succeed#but thats jsut a step towards actual success#so heres hoping we get the balls to table at a convention and sell silly little trinkets we made#akso i want a button maker now#shoutout to zack viet and matt.
