Mythological Creature AU: Part 2

Okay, going off this post.

So the Unfortunate Gen is really the first one with a lot of hybrids. Occasionally you'll see a few in SBG, but the SBG is the really the first generation that was doing the whole interspecies relationship thing.

Their offspring tend not to show nonhuman traits until they’re 13 unless triggered somehow.

In this AU, along with V.F.D as a whole, the Baudelaire children would be completely unaware that they're nonhumans until they slowly figure that out, having their first transformations within the story. Beatrice and Bertrand kept their wings hidden.

Olaf absolutely freaks them out the first time he shapeshifts. They have to get used to Monty's tail and the fact he can literally talk to all his reptiles. They get paranoid every time Josephine screams, etc.

Duncan and Isadora are their first nonthreatening first impression of nonhumans. Mostly because they were a lot more eased in to it.

Note: Hybrids don't have perfect genetics. They can get features from one creature much more heavily than the other.

Ex. Say a Vampire/Siren (Not to be confused with Sirin) Hybrid exists. They may look much more aquatic and only really have the fangs from the vampire parent. You know, like how real genetics get screwy.

So....

The Unfortunate Gen:

Violet: Angel/Sirin Hybrid (Violet is a late bloomer, hence not knowing her parents were nonhumans. Unknown whether her parents used magic to suppress her transformation. She grows her wings after being triggered by the stress of the events at Heimlich Hospital)

 Klaus: Angel/Sirin Hybrid (Klaus actually grows his wings before his sister does, his first transformation happening shortly after his thirteenth birthday as is traditional)

Sunny: Angel/Sirin Hybrid (Sunny is an incredibly unusual case as almost no Volunteers have been known to take their true form so young. However, during the events on the Mortmain Mountains, her insistence that she is no longer a baby is punctuated by her sprouting a small pair of wings to match her siblings!)

The Quagmire Triplets: Gargoyles (Creatures known to shift from flesh to stone, though this takes great concentration at a young age. Have wings but only in stone form. Known to be incredibly protective of loved ones)

Carmelita: Human (For now. Too young to know her true form if she is a nonhuman. Possibly slowly transforming into a Changeling due to being stolen by Esme)

Fiona: Selkie w/ Prophecy (Yeah, I do like the theory that Miranda is Fiona and Fernald’s mother. Thank you for asking. Since Oracles only pass down magic, Fiona would be the same, or similar, species as her biological father)

Friday: Human (For now. Too young for her true form and her mother passes for human. Starting to see flashes of her gift of prophecy. Can easily speak to Ink due to being a latent Tannin.)

Beatrice Baudelaire (B.B.) Snicket: Human (For now but believed to be an Algea hybrid. Though, the other half is up in the air.)

Obviously Olaf doesn't realize the kids don't know they're hybrids at first by the way. He openly wonders where the hell Violet's wings are.

Imagine him openly making an awful comment to Violet about her mother clipping her wings and not meaning it metaphorically.

He sees putting Sunny in a bird cage as funny rather than really dangerous because "C'mon her dad's a bird thing!"

And scariest, when he's about to drop Sunny.

"If you're so worried about her, just fly."

For the Selkie au, Pedro could be alive! His seal coat could've just been stolen by someone who wanted him for a husband like in typical Selkie stories, could lead to some interesting stories of Alma vs. Pedro's kidnapper and maybe some half-siblings for the triplets

No but. She doesn’t believes he’s dead. Like she is actively looking for him. Probably only found him cause he’s allowed in the sea once a month under intense supervision. Hatched a plan and everything 😭 and you already KNOW Alma won the fight too. As soon as Pedro got in the water he threw that ring right back at her, no remorse 💀

And before anyone asks. Yes there is a difference between the gray and the white hair. Gray is from age. White is not (hinthintwinkwink)

Probably no kids with her cause. One she kidnapped him and two HE TOO LOYAL 4 DAT⁉️⁉️⁉️ and yeah, she would probably try to kill Alma if she saw her. Hence why Alma got into the fist fight with her (and won)

Bee’s Prompt Post

So, as some of you know, I have a lot of ideas for different aus, which I rant about at random. Some of you may also know I don’t usually like prompts where I just get a sentence and have to create a whole world - my brain goes in too many places and I write way too much to be manageable lol. So this is my solution! I’ve listed out AUs I’m willing to write prompts for and I’m taking requests.

Here’s what to do (actually read this if you’re going to make a request):

Pick one of the AUs below or suggest another one you remember from some of my rantings, read what I said about it below to check there aren’t any special instructions, and tell me about a scene you’d like to see in that universe. Want to see Selkie Chase get Selkie sick? Experimenter Anti kidnapping Jackie? Marvin from Marvin’s Cage coming home to his brothers after years away? Let me know! I might have to turn down or adapt one or two of these but honestly I would love to get them. I love to know what you guys are interested in and often it’s the same as what I’m interested in lol.

This is my first time trying this so let’s see how it goes!! Thanks for helping me try something new, guys!! Okay, here are the au options I’ve thought of for now! Remember, you can request others you’ve seen, but these ones are listed because they are more fleshed out in my head or in my writing.

Mythology AU - Chase is a Selkie, Marvin’s a star spirit, Jameson’s fae but likes to look like a little black dog, Henrik’s the seventh son of a seventh son, and Jackie is Jackie!

Marvin’s Cage - Marvin is the one keeping Jameson in the little puppet box so that Anti can’t use him to hurt his family. When Jackie finds out, he sets Jameson free and throws Marvin out of the house, cutting off all communication from him and leaving him to devolve into hatred and magical corruption. Jackie becomes ferociously over-protective and grieves the loss of his brother while Jameson is just trying to understand what it is that happened to him and learn to live a normal, happy life with the help of his brothers. Please specify time period: Jameson still in the box, Jameson freed from the box recently, or Jameson freed from the box some time ago.

Experimenter Anti - Anti sees the other egos as experiments, less than human. He keeps them in his facility and runs experiments on them, obsessed with all the ways they resemble Jack. There are specific prompts for this one here if you’d prefer. Please specify if you would like it set during or in recovery from Anti’s treatment.

Kidnapped Anti AU - based on this fic, this features a soft Anti who was kidnapped and abused for weeks only to be saved by Jackie and returned home. He’s known for being violent, wild, selfish, and reclusive, but he’s finding a way to get along with the family he ran away from months ago as he recovers from what he went through. Maybe his struggles will even give him a chance to save another captive demon, one who likes pumpkin-carving and always wears black and white.

What We Have Left - a scene from the aftermath of the What We Have Left fic, where everyone but Marvin belongs to Anti. Similar to My Brothers, Corrupted, but gives us some space to try new scenarios.

Jameson from the Fish - written in my experimental style, highly focused on Jameson’s introspection and relationships. I’m currently obsessed with the version of him from “the Fish.” He was recently freed from Anti’s control and everyone is trying to teach him he doesn’t have to act like anybody’s pet. He is often confused and childish, or at other times violent and paranoid, but he’s trying really hard. Feral little man with no concept of normal. Similar to My Brother’s Keeper, but gives us some space to try new scenarios.

Bastard Cats AU - my fluffiest au. Chase has five cats named Anti, Marvin, Jackie, JJ, and Dr. Henrik von Schneeplestein, Ph.D, MD. There are specific prompts for this one here if you’d prefer.

Favored Puppet AU - Based on the relationships in this post, Anti has certain egos he’s kidnapped and come to favor. Some are his “pets,” some he genuinely sees as friends. Let me know which ego(s) you’d like to see with him.

Mermay - okay fine it’s not May anymore. But I’m still interested in talking about Chase as a little ghost who follows around the merrow and siren friends he’s found. The others can’t talk in this au and it mostly focuses on Chase trying to help them out of trouble.

Graceling AU - based on Kristin Cashore’s Graceling books, this is a universe where Jameson is a child who’s been raised by Anti - a powerful Graceling and abuse survivor who’s come to believe that everyone is evil and wants to hurt him. The others, including the Graceling warrior Jackie and his Monster brother Marvin, catch news of the captive Prince Jameson and go to help him. Please don’t request for this one unless you remember the asks where we were talking about it and have read the fic with Anti and JJ.

My One (1) Markiplier Egos Universe - you remember my Eric Derekson fic? oh you like that? a little found family? as a treat? yes i am willing to write a little Mark egos lol. Or the au where Wilford and Jameson knew each other before WKM is good too!

MerDucks AU Headcanons

Ok so firstly this AU belongs to the lovely @squorkal  Secondly,  I do apologise for how I written out the headcanons ((it’s best not write them at 2 in the morning lol. So I’ll edit it later probably when I’m more awake and notice all my horrible spell/grammar mistakes.)) So sorry in advance. 

Small little ledged thing just so it’s easier to understand MerDuck=Mermaid/merman/merperson Mortal/Duck= Human (not merfolk)

Possible story plot wise etc ((this can be used or tossed away. It’s just what my mind came up with))

-MerDucks hardly ever surface since the since the time period of the 1500’s ((pirate days)) -1950’s ((when traveling Freak Shows were popular/very common though it did start in the 1800’s)) the reason for that is pretty simple. Most mortals took MerDucks and well place them in circuses or kept them for ‘the treasure’ they have, or even to experiment on ((1940s with human experimentation))

- MerDucks slowly age ((as they live thousands of years)) so Donald, the triplets, Scrooge etc are hundreds of years old

-Della is pronounced dead as the last time she was seen was when a pirate ship was sailing by.

-The triplets aren’t allowed to see the surface world due to Donald fearing mortals ever since Della’s disappearance ((and what mortals would do to his nephews if they were discovered)) and of course the boys disobey Donald’s main rule and they met Webby. A regular mortal Duck who’s renting out a cottage nearby.

-The triplets (MerDucks in general) has zero idea about the modern world. So phones, certain type of music, electricity, style of clothing/hair, etc. They had a hard time figuring out how it works and why certain electronics didn’t work in the water ((non-water proof))

-A lot of things Webby actually taught them like grass, trees, forests, buildings, what a town looks like, and the world and all the places to visit ((each thing Webby told sparked an interest in each one of the boys)

-Donald does eventually discover the boys have seen the surface world and of course boys do get captured by group of villains ((I say the beagle boys)) to be displayed which would gain a lot of attraction and a ton of money.  With that Donald has face one of his fears and work with a mortal (Webby) in order to save his family!

More so random headcanons -Once each MerDuck reaches a certain age they wear a shell that represents them ((each shell has a different meaning))

- A lot of the myths and legends mortals place on MerDucks tends to be false. To the MerDucks, mortals love to make up the most insane things. However a few things are true about MerDucks that mortals got correct ((if a MerDuck is out of water, they can sprout legs, a kiss from a MerDuck can give you the ability to breath underwater, MerDucks can be evil etc))

- MerDucks are offended if anyone mix up the differences between them any water mythical creature (seines, selkies, Creature of the Black Lagoon, Makara, Melusine etc) Webby made this mistake.

-After the triplets heard about the story the little mermaid, they felt like it was an insult to MerDucks or just a straight up stupid story.

Five Near Misses between Harbour Seal Selkie Yuuri and Harp Seal Selkie Viktor:

Viktor keeps disappearing on Thursday afternoons. Yuuri knows this because he sees Christophe dogsitting Makkachin at the bar. He knows he’s not supposed to pry, but he asks Christophe about it anyway, and Christophe shrugs, says something about a call to his agent. ‘But then why would he need to get a dogsitter?’ he wonders. Christophe asks him to write down the question, and when Yuuri does, he reads it, sighs, and shrugs again.

Viktor almost catches him that one time they’re at the little cove, though it’s hardly catching when part of Yuuri wants Viktor to know, more than anything, what he’s capable of. But somehow Viktor doesn’t quite add two and two together, doesn’t quite form the line between Katsudon and Yuuri, and it burns inside him like a secret he’s dying to tell.

Viktor rambles like nobody’s business and sometimes his words don’t string together right, and Yuuri wonders if it’s because he’s speaking English as a second language, or something else. He doesn’t make a comment on it -- he’d be a bit of a hypocrite if he made comments about how people communicate -- but it’s interesting, all the same, how Viktor peppers his sentences with sounds that have no meaning.

But Viktor is quiet around Nishigori, and quieter around Jean-Jacques Leroy, especially when the man brags about buying his fiancee a “whitecoat muff”. He curls into Yuuri’s side, turns his face away. He shakes. Yuuri squeezes his hand and doesn’t comment on the way his shirt invariably gets a water stain on the shoulder minutes later. 

And sometimes, Yuuri sees a silvery spotted harp seal in the water and wonder what it is doing here in Scotland, so far away from home. The harp seal appears without fail on Thursday afternoons, sometimes hauling out onto the sand to chase after Makkachin. Yuuri wonders if it’ll become a fixture of the town, like Katsudon is. He wonders what the triplets will name it.
