VALENTINES DAY SPECIAL (BatCat)

Happy Valentines day, I'm writing this because I can't spend this day with my Girlfriend so I'm updating for all you lonely people.

Summary: Bruce and Selina go on a date on Valentines day, all is going well until...

"Move your head undead I can't see!"

"Well excuse me Demon I want to see too" *shuffling sounds* "ow that's my foot!" "Sorry not sorry goldie" *Bruce glares at the table*

Third person pov...

It was Valentines day in Gotham City, the usual crime ridden city seemed happier for once, Couples old and young were out celebrating together.

In Wayne manor in the master bedroom. Bruce was getting ready, he had a date with Selina Kyle that evening

The usual stoic vigilante was fussing about his outfit in the mirror.

He untied the bow again ans redid it, huffing he repeated the process.

"You know you'll be fine right" comes a voice from behind him, jumping slightly cursing himself that he didn't hear him come up behind.

Sighing the man turns around tie undone. Alfred smiles at the man and walks closer. Bruce turns back to the mirror and fiddles with his bow tie again.

Alfred pulls his hands away and starts tying it for him, Bruce looks up and away from the Butler. "I don't know why im nervous, it's Selina for god sake" he mumbles angerly to himself, Alfred pats the young man's cheek.

Blue eyes looks into his, with a closes eyed smile Alfred speaks. "You're nervous because you lover her and wa t the date to go well Sir" Says the older man, Bruce smiles at the man and pats his shoulder.

"You're right as always Alfred, thanks he says Alfred smiles at his 'son' "of course sir, now you must be off or you'll be late" he tells the man, Bruce's blue eyes widened.

He grabbed his coat, hat and bouquet for Selina. "See you later be good boys!" He yells into the manor before running to his car. Alfred waved from the door as the car became smaller and smaller.

As he closed the door we was ambushed by the boys. Back against the door with Dick, Jason, Tim and Damian all looking at him the Butler raised his eyebrows.

"No boys, I will not be telling you anything. Now off you pop and leave your Father alone" he tells the boys, before walking to the kichen. The boys all looked at each other before running to the cave.

Dick stands with his hands in his hips. "Shall we go see how Bruce's date is going?" He asks his brothers. Jason grins "do you have yo ask dickiebird" The four boys use the tracker in thr car Bruce was using and found where he was meeting Selina.

With Bruce and Selina...

The man and woman are sat a table in a semi fancy restaurant, both have large smiles on their faces, surround by other happy couples.

"So how are the boys?" Asks the beautiful woman, Bruce takes a sip of his wine then smiles he loves talking about his son's. "They're doing great, Tim's Top at everything in school, Dick just started working at the bludhaven police force, Jason got his masters degree in literature, Damian has started Gotham academy" he tells her, his voice filled with emotion.

Selina smiles and takes his hand in hers "you sure are proud of them" she says sipping at her glass. Bruce smiles at her captured by her beauty. He was very happy when she agreed to go on a date with him, knowing she liked Batman more.

Suddenly he heard familiar voices squabbling behind them. "Move your head undead I can't see!"

"Well excuse me Demon I want to see too" shuffling is heard, as if someone was climbing over someone else.

"ow that's my foot!" "Sorry not sorry goldie" now knowing exactly who it was behind them Bruce turns his Dad glare on full.

"Boys"

Dick, Jason, Tim and Damian all stilled and visibly gulped. Slowly entangling themselves from the table and menus they were hiding behind, the 4 boys made their way towards their pissed of Dad and his beautiful Date.

Bruce dad glared at his sons as they stood single file next to his and Selinas table. Arms crossed he looked at his eldest for a excuse. Infront of him Selina was hiding her smiling face.

Dick swallows thickly a grin on his face. "Hi B didn't see you there, we were just-" "-how did you four get in here only couples are allowed tonight" Says Bruce in a tired Dad voice.

Damian pips up. "We are not stupid father, we bribed the person at the desk-" Jason covers the 11 year old face shutting him up, the 16 year old turns his smile to Bruce.

The man sighs and covers his face with his have before turning to apologise to Selina, then the woman bursts out in a fit if laughter. "It's okay Bruce, I'm not made instead I'm surprised, they are just protective over you" she tells the man through her laughter.

The man turns to his sons who have bowed heads and visible blush on their ears, suddenly the man was smiling and pulling his four boys into a hug. "Thank you boy, but I am okay " he tells them.

"We know and we accept" whisper Dick making the man blush and quick sit down again in his chair. The boys soon left the two alone and drove back to the Manor.

Still blushing Selina leans over and kisses the man on his bright red cheek a smirk on her red lips. "Thank you for such an entertaining date Bruce" she whispers to him, Bruce smiles at the woman.

"I had no idea they would go that far I'm sorry Selina" he tells her as they stand finished with their meal. Arm in arm they walk out of the restaurant and to Bruce's car.

Selians stops just as they get to the door. "How about this make it up to me with another date" she tells him, Bruce nods his head eagerly, the blonde woman smiles and kisses him fully on the lips.

Cheering is heard from thr car park.

"Woo go Selina!"

"I knew it cough it up Todd!"

"That's cheating, now im out of 20 dollars"

"We are happy for you two"

Bruce blushes bright red again twisting his head to the voices of his sons. "You little shit, I'm telling Alfred about you!" He yells shaking his clenched fist their way making the boys burst out in laughter Selina joining in.

Everyone knows Selina. You know Selina.

But no one really, truly knows Selina. No one knows that even though she rejected you, she actually liked you, too.

She'd found that little confession of yours adorable. It was sweet, even. How cute of you, she thinks. But she figures you'd probably want someone else and not her. You could do better than her, she thinks. Well, not thinks. She's sure of it.

But you? You're convinced you are nowhere near being worthy of her. You'd gotten the answer you expected, and yet...

And yet here you are, coughing up flowers. Coughing up flowers stained a deep crimson from your blood. Pretty little flowers, filling your lungs because of a love you know is hopeless. Something unfortunate, and not meant to be.

So you spend your days withering away, because you just don't have the heart to admit that your own self was right. You're just a little stubborn. Okay, maybe a lot stubborn.

Selina had always loved that stubbornness. But for once, she just wished you weren't. Because when she decides that she should give it a chance, she is all but too late.

Because here she is, cradling your cold hand. Because she got there too late to tell you that she loved you, too. She is all but too late to tell you she lied, that she felt you deserved someone else.

How unfortunate that out of all things she wants besides wealth, she lost it. She lost you. You were the one thing she wanted in this life more than any piece of fine jewelry or money. You stole something from her that she couldn't ever hope to take back.

I mean? It’s really not that different from the first one you mentioned? In general, he’s not a very physically affectionate person on his own.

That being said, if you need a lot of physical affection, that’s not going to be a dealbreaker for him. It’s not a hard limit boundary-- it’s just that he’s not always very comfortable initiating it himself.

As such, he’s going to rely on you coming to him when you need physical touch, on a day to day basis. He’ll let you flop on him or lean on him, give you a little squeeze, and continue going about his work.

He’ll absolutely let you lean on him or lay on him as long as you want; it’s not going to bother him. Whatever makes you comfortable.

If you’re in the kind of mood where you’re down enough where you need him to be the one who comes to you, though, fear not-- Bruce Wayne is nothing if not an observer and will notice when you need him, and he’ll come find you and deliver whatever hugs and snuggles you need.

One of a bats closest relative is a puma, ironically they have nothing in common. Bats come in big groups, there always surrounded by at least one other bat. Pumas are solitary animals, they don't share their territory. They're recluse, and more viscous than bats.

You were more vicious. You didn't control your anger and grief, it controlled you, but you had to find a way mange it. Tomorrow was a special occasion after all, well that's what everyone was saying but...it didn't feel like it. Tomorrow, Bruce was bringing Selina Kyle over. The famous kleptomaniac aristocrat, also known as Catwoman. The thief turned...bat? You weren't exactly sure but it'd be nice for her and Bruce to finally clear up what they were. It must've been serious if she was going to have dinner with the family. Then again, you never really saw your dad be in a committed relationship. ... 'Dad'...nope still didn't sound right. Even after all the years living together he didn't deserve that title, at least not from you. The daughter of Bruce Wayne? it sounded so foreign to you, people saying that-it sounded wrong. No, you were your mothers daughter. It didn't matter if you couldn't picture her face anymore...yeah.

. For this special occasion you needed something special to where! You chose a vest suit, an off-white shirt underneath the brown, tattersall patterned vest. Paired with some old, black palazzo pants. It was a similar outfit your other had worn a while back, you saw it an old magazine rotting in the corner of your room. It felt nice to be dressed up for once, it'd gave you a reason to finally take a shower. With everyone making a big deal out of this you had a little hope that they would acknowledge you today. Maybe Selina could change things around here.

But as people ran chaotically in the hallway and different aromas travelled into your room, you realised something. Jason wasn't here. What. No, no...you couldn't survive these without him. Your leg shook as you waited for the phone to pick up. He was the only one that properly acknowledged your existence without being cruel. He was your favourite brother, favourite sibling. I mean the bar was low but, favourite nonetheless!

"What's up Star?" His voice sounded hoars, had he just woken up? Your irritancy only growing when he used that nickname. It was usually nice when he called you it, but right now it was the last thing you needed. "Don't call me that Jay. Where are you?" ...

The silence was deafening, he cleared his throat and it made you want to cry. "I'm sorry...I'm not coming kid." No. That wasn't fair. "Tch-Then can you...pick me up?" Your voice desperate as you hated all of it. A room full of people that don't even know you, and a stranger. It was personal hell. "Look, Star, I really think you'd benefit from thi-" You ended the call, scoffing, you pushed yourself off your bed.

She's so pretty She sat on the right side of Bruce. Who was, per usual, at the head of the table. Soon the peaceful moment turned loud. The sounds of knives scraping against plates, Steph's nails tapping the table, Tim an Damian bickering back to hell. Huh, the chicken was just out of your reach, usually Alfred would put it closest to your seat. After a few embarrassing minutes of reaching for it, and no one helping you, your just grabbed whatever was closest. At one point you swore you locked eyes with Tim while you were still reaching for the chicken and he just flat out ignored you. Maybe it was time to speak "uhm...can you pass...can you" why was this always so hard? "Can I...Can you pass the chicken please?" Now you were sure people heard you. You watched as Grayson picked up the plate and gave it to...Selina. Of-fucking-course.

"What am I, chopped liver?"

Shit. Your shoulders tensed up and your hands balled into fists on your lap. You were in so much- "Ha." Huh? Did she...laugh? Whatever. "Sorry...can you pass the chicken please?" She nodded, was it getting hot in here? Or was it just everyone looking at you?

"You never told me she had a sense of humour." She said, her soft smile shining as she turned to Bruce, the her eyes squinted. "I don't think you told me much about her at all actually." That sounds about right. He probably doesn't even know much about you. Her elbow leaned on the table and her chin rested on her fist. "Your Mother...she was a model right?" With those words she instantly got your attention, with your eyes shining you nodded. "Yeah! She was"

With the nod of her head she leaned back in her chair. "That outfit...she wore something similar to it." Oh you definitely like her.

Before you could respond, someone had to open their mouth. "She wasn't a very famous one." Damian said, his annoying voice once again ruining your mood. "Damian." Bruce muttered. You scoffed, usually these comments would be ignored. "privileged asshole." You poked at your plate, not really hungry anymore. In fact it felt like you might throw up, or break something. "What did you call me?" He said sitting up in his chair. "I called you a privileged asshole." You banged your fork onto the table, no everyone's attention was on you. From the corner of your eye you could see Tim's scowl, it was surprising him and Bruce weren't related. You couldn't take it when he slandered your mother, but for some reason you were the villian. "Star. Don't be like that." Dick nudged you, only making you recoil with disgust. "Who said you could call me Star? Don't call me that, dick." You heard your name being called, Alfred standing to the side. He was warning you. "Sorry-" "No need to be a bitch about it." Of course Steph had to join in, you felt your mouth open, ready to spew an infinite amounts of insults when you heard your name being called a second time. Pushing the chair and table hardly you walked behind him, being led to the kitchen. "I apologise for her behaviour." Bruce's voice rung in your ears. Fuck this. .

You stood, arms crossed out tapping your foot. "You need to have some decorum-" "Decorum? Me? What about Damian?" You hated arguing with the old man, you hated when he was upset at you. The tears were already pouring, could they here this? The door was slightly ajar after all. "Master Damian has been through a lot-" "Okay?" Your voice shook, it was so wrong. But it felt right, right screaming like this. "Yes. Yes he has, and? So have I."

Alfred, mouth was agape for a second, he hadn't seen her this upset before. "Now Miss...you can't compare-" Great now you lost first name privileges. "Right. Everyone's been through tough shit, guess what? So have I!" Your voice getting louder, the anger pulsing through your veins. "I've been hurt and I'd never treat them like how I've been treated!'' Your arm extended out to the door, your other hand slapping your chest. Where your heart would be.

"WHY!...Why is their pain different from my pain?"

The question hung in the air, you held back sobs. Alfred looked tired now, almost guilty. His composure wilting slightly. "It...that's not what I mean-" Now that you had started you couldn't stop. "Do I not deserve the same amount of recognition, the same amount of love?" You felt yourself taking a step back, your whole body shaking. It's like it had a mind of it's own. "You do deserve it, please calm down..." Calm down?. Calm down? She wanted to shout at him, this wasn't fair. "You know what Alfred?" The breaths getting shorter. "What Miss.." "I wish I had stayed inside that day, I wish I burned with my mother." He looked visibly shaken for a moment, his voice gave it away. "You don't mean that." "I mean it. That way I would've died with her, knowing she loved me." Your voice got quiet at the end, barely above a whisper. Why was it always this way? What did you ever do to them. You hated this, you weren't their family. With every similarity there was difference, not a Wayne and not a Bat. But even so why couldn't they accept that and accept you.

The butler placed whatever he was holding down, you didn't know what it was and didn't care. The sobs were too hard to control, it made your body ache. He stepped closer, arms wide as you fell into them. Clinging on like you were going to fall apart.
