The God Who Is Our Salvation
“The God who is our salvation” appears immediately before and after a Selah. What can we learn from this pause?
Selah means to pause and carefully consider. “The God who is our salvation” is on each side of this sacred pause. What can we consider from this? God is my salvation God is for me God is my daily provision God is my light and my life God is my escape from death God is worthy of all my worship Let’s take time to slow down and truly savor the inspired thoughts when the Holy Spirit moved the…

Any Christian music you can recommend? I listen to too little of it. I don't believe a genre of itself is wrong, but most of modern Christian music fails to attract me. If I listen to a spiritual/gospel song, it mostly is something from the 1960's (back when secular music was better also)
The Gray Havens and The Arcadian Wild are incredibly rich artistically and theologically. Principium by Arcadian Wild is one of the most heartwrenchingly beautiful pieces I've ever heard.
For excellent corporate worship, I highly recommend Keith and Kristyn Getty who are producing some of the best modern hymns in the world as well as Matt Boswell and Matt Papa. Shane and Shane and CityAlight also do some excellent work.
If you like the spirituals/gospel songs of the sixties, you might like The Ball Brothers and Selah. I recently discovered Reawaken Hymns and have enjoyed the revitalizations they have done to beloved classics.
A bit more niche but who need more attention is the New Scottish Hymns Band. I love their song "See How Eden's Children Fell." I'll also give a shout out to some friends of mine, Blood and Hyssop, who excel at creating a variety of songs drawn directly from Scripture that are bouncy and fun like Honeycomb and somber and reflective like Thorns and blow your socks off convicting like This World Will Soon Be Over
If you are looking more for music made by Christians and with Christian themes but not intended to be worship music, then I would recommend Skillet for soft rock and Owl City for Owl City.
Feel free to check out this running playlist I have for theologically sound worship music.

For the director of music. A song. A psalm.
1 Make a joyful noise unto God, all the earth; 2 sing forth the glory of his name; put glory into thy praise. 3 Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! Through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee. 4 All the earth shall worship thee and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah. 5 Come and see the works of God; he is terrible in his doing toward the sons of men. 6 He turned the sea into dry land; they went through the river on foot; there did we rejoice in him. 7 He rules by his power for ever; his eyes watch the Gentiles; the rebellious shall not exalt themselves. Selah. 8 O bless our God, ye peoples, and make the voice of his praise to be heard. 9 It is he who placed our soul into life and did not suffer our feet to slip. 10 For thou, O God, hast proved us; thou hast refined us as silver is refined. 11 Thou didst bring us into the net; thou didst lay affliction upon our loins. 12 Thou hast placed a man over our head; we went through fire and through water, but thou didst bring us out into abundance. 13 I will go into thy house with burnt offerings; I will pay thee my vows, 14 which my lips have uttered and my mouth has spoken when I was in trouble. 15 I will offer unto thee burnt sacrifices of fatlings with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah. 16 Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he has done unto my soul. 17 I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue. 18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: 19 But verily God has heard me; he has attended to the voice of my prayer. 20 Blessed be God, who has not turned away my prayer nor his mercy from me. — Psalm 66 | The Jubilee Bible (JUB) The Jubilee Bible (from the Scriptures of the Reformation), edited by Russell M. selah knows nothing but worship and sisterhood so she either views your muse as a
1. a sister 2. a goddess 3. an enemy
she loves her sisters and is so enmeshed with the surviving ones that she can't see beyond what they want/believe and what she wants/believes for herself. due to selah's wavering faith and no longer rigid views, this is not reserved for other members of her religious order or women, but she becomes enmeshed just the same. if she finds your muse virtuous and kind? sister.
she idolizes easily. she envies confidence and a strong sense of identity. if she finds your muse powerful and beautiful? inspiring? any trait to be admired? goddess.
well anyone that doesn't fit in the first two categories, she views as wanting to sway her from her faith. this is the most common category. many magic users, force users, politicians, nobles. the sisterhood intentionally weakened all trust for those with more power or influence in order to make sisters fearful of the "other" and maintain loyalty. selah struggles to let this go. most muses live here before moving to one of the prior two categories. for some the journey is faster than others.

‘The old times’ wasn't an efficient term to fully encapsulate the heavy meaning behind all the memories of childhood to which he’d been referring. Samuel missed the unmatched view of the town from their property, the solace of his father’s church, or the comfort of his embrace. Hell, he could hardly remember anything about his mother but her scent – like honeysuckle, and even in that faint nostalgia, he longed for it.
While his faith hadn't diminished, it was undoubtedly being tested. It was mentally strenuous to always remind himself about God’s promises and Word when he was plagued by the echoing crack of gunfire, the spray of a brother’s blood, the rot of dysentery, and the stale stench of a mixture of sea salt and death.
When he closed his eyes, he saw the nightmarish image of Selah’s corpse beside him, how he’d watched the light leave his eyes as he'd recited scriptures to soothe his soul’s journey to an eternal place with their Lord and Savior. There had been nothing but the sound of the creaking and groaning bowels of the Jersey to haunt his ears.
All these things caused Samuel to drift into uncomfortable hazes. His skin would prickle as his body trembled with dread and his lungs ached so painfully that he was always certain he would die.
"Our eyes are on the front of our heads for a reason," Benjamin reminded with the softest tone he could muster, "We need to keep looking forward, Sam -- not behind. No matter how deeply we may wish to."
For but a moment, Benjamin’s touch prompted Samuel to tense, only to relax once his brain was able to determine that he was in no immediate danger.
"What brought this on? Are you that eager for me to whoop your arse in a game of cards, just like 'the old times?'"
“You always cheated, and you know it.”
It mattered little whether or not that was true anymore. All that mattered now was winning the war. After all, they'd sacrificed, they had to succeed. They just had to.
"We can't ever go back,” Benjamin added, his expression softer, “But I wish we could –”
With a weary sigh, he forced a smile. It was good to see Benjamin genuinely grin at something, especially nowadays, so the last thing Samuel wanted was to ruin it. They were soon to witness the hanging of a fellow Patriot soldier who had become a traitor, so it was better to claim victory where he could.
“Remember Job’s story? How despite losing everything, he fell to his knees and worshiped God? ‘The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.’...then later, he was in such agony that he cried ‘I have no peace, no quietness; I have no rest, but only turmoil.’

Psalm 66 (NKJV)
Make a joyful shout to God, all the earth! Sing out the honor of His name; Make His praise glorious. Say to God, “How awesome are Your works! Through the greatness of Your power Your enemies shall submit themselves to You. All the earth shall worship You And sing praises to You; They shall sing praises to Your name.” Selah
Come and see the works of God; He is awesome in His doing toward the sons of men. He turned the sea into dry land; They went through the river on foot. There we will rejoice in Him. He rules by His power forever; His eyes observe the nations; Do not let the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah
Oh, bless our God, you peoples! And make the voice of His praise to be heard, Who keeps our soul among the living, And does not allow our feet to be moved. For You, O God, have tested us; You have refined us as silver is refined. You brought us into the net; You laid affliction on our backs. You have caused men to ride over our heads; We went through fire and through water; But You brought us out to rich fulfillment.
I will go into Your house with burnt offerings; I will pay You my vows, Which my lips have uttered And my mouth has spoken when I was in trouble. I will offer You burnt sacrifices of fat animals, With the sweet aroma of rams; I will offer bulls with goats. Selah
Come and hear, all you who fear God, And I will declare what He has done for my soul. I cried to Him with my mouth, And He was extolled with my tongue. If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear. But certainly God has heard me; He has attended to the voice of my prayer.
Blessed be God, Who has not turned away my prayer, Nor His mercy from me!

your presence is everything.
I've called on it for ages.
you can pride yourself on this
healing you cause me to need.
selah. a break for the grief
you force on me.
for the worship at your feet.
is it love if it boils down to anger?
my rage, your wrath,
welcoming companions.
maybe that's what you mean
when you say you know me.
and when you proclaim to know everything,
it feels like laughter pointed at me.
the prayer comes back to this:
remember when my devotion was soft?
when the strife wasn't so sharp,
taking up this space, deafening?

After he overcame all temptations and casted away satan, the adversary of Truth brought under Truth's feet! O love Yah!
He,The Life preached repentance ,because the Kingdom of The Heavens was and is at hand ..For one to repent is to return to The Source of living waters and forsake one's own way, thus turning away from evil and divorcing sin believing the one who died to pay our penalty we owed ,from birth ....
Today if even tempted we can say NO TO TEMPTATIONS and take every thoughts into captivity because The messiah gives us strength to do so,as he is the Living Word, The same working in us .Our help from The Highest ... So must we pray not to be led into temptations.and look up .... So Soldiers, know this is the field, and there's a battle ..until the end comes ,and we receive crowns ...At the end, the very beginning ...
A pure heart ,he came to offer . Must it be purifies , like jars of clay in the fire , and as silver becoming mirror , the reflection of his maker ... The men in Yah have strength ,their glory . The women have virtue ,grace and Joy exceedingly ,their honor in Yah alone. The Mothers never cease singing his praises in dances and the melodies they bring forth strengthen the hearts of those who hear! In Yah have they found life and mercies ,unendingly ..... And Old Men in Yah are as ancient oaks, righteousness clothes them, they shine brighter than clouds and their Wisdom is Heavenly ...
So he who came in the name of The Heavenly Father, does work ..He reconciles , yes and atones ....like the coil from the altar ,he gave his soul an offering for sins... unto whoever believes.Mercy is given ,our past sins and shame no longer remembered
We have longed for Yeshua . Who will stop The Lion King , O kosi! Resurrection ,COME! You who lead by waters, and make us fishers ... wash us.. And YOU INCREASE .
He came in the name of YAHUAH (YHWH), YAH is I AM (AHAYAH).The one who saves,so he who created with his word ,saves with his word ,his power ,his strength, his very own and first born,YAHUSHUA .
So deliverance came ,our salvation is Yeshua who came in the name ...In the "SHEM" Selah..How blessed !? Son of King Dawid! Out of the flood, the waters bow!
It is he The King of Y'israel who saves Y'israel by his own hand, his first born, his strength, O his right hand! Happy Father is he. His Word can not fail.
His Son, is himself ...El is with us! Thus when we behold The Son, we behold The Father, The Heir .... On him, is THE NAME, above all names . YHWH who saves .... Worship Yah alone ,and only him, serve!

Psalms chapter 81
1 (To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm of Asaph.) Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.
2 Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.
3 Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.
4 For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.
5 This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.
6 I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots.
7 Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.
8 Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me;
9 There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.
10 I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
11 But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me.
12 So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels.
13 Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!
14 I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.
15 The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.
16 He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.

PSALMS S.O.A.P. ~ PSALM 84
Tuesday, 11/14/23
SCRIPTURE:
How happy are those who reside in Your house, who praise You continually. Selah ~ Psalm 84:4 Happy are the people whose strength is in You, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage. ~ Psalm 84:5 Better a day in Your courts than a thousand anywhere else. I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God than live in the tents of wicked people. ~ Psalm 84:10
OBSERVATION:
Interesting opposites here:
Reside - have one's permanent home in a particular place;
Pilgrimage - a purposeful journey, often into an unknown or foreign place, where a person goes in search of new or expanded meaning about their self, others, nature, or a higher good through the experience. It can lead to a personal transformation, after which the pilgrim returns home to their daily life;
And then,
the threshold of the house of God - implies permanence, residing...
...tents of the wicked - implies impermanence, moving from place to place...
Happy - residing and pilgriming in Him and in His presence... even for just a day...
APPLICATION:
Reside in Him;
Travel with Him;
Praise Him continually;
PRAYER:
Father God - may I travel with You, pilgrimage with You, return with You to Your house and accept my place at Your door... I ask forgiveness for my wandering... Please accept my praise and thanksgiving and worship for Your grace and mercy... through and in Jesus's Name, for Your honor...
Happily trusting in Him... 𝖌

Was reading the fic, saw the twins have the surname Khanna. What about others? I can assume North and South have Dakota, Butch has Flowers, Locus has Ortez, Siris has Wu, and Reginald has Wyoming, but what about the other unknowns? Epsilon, Texas, Sheila, Sarge, Sigma, Gamma, Omega, Delta, and Theta? (Lol one senile soldier and a bunch of computers)
Of course! Most of the fill in names, are as you guessed, either their call signs or actual last names.
The non-canon adjacent names are usually a nod to something in the canon of the fic, a reference to something about their personality, or a joke.
The Khanna twins are a reference to the fact that their team is lead by Sigma. The surname having ties to sun-worshiping.
Epsilon's surname is Oroitz which means Memory in Basque.
Texas is Selah, which has two interpretations in its Hebrew origins. Those being "To praise" (Presumably praising God.) or "To pause, reflecting on what has been discussed." I prefer the latter.
Sheila is nothing more than a robotics joke, as her last name is Asimov.
Sarge, being a clear parody of an American military Sargent, is simply known as Smith.
Gamma's last name is Keme, an Algonquin name meaning "Secret", in reference to being the Alpha's deceit.
Omega's surname is French in origin, being Harbin. The various translations always referring to some kind of "warrior" or "army." Often with implications of brilliance or shining.
Delta's last name is Hugo, a German surname referencing his intelligence.
And finally, Theta's last name is Shael, which means "to inquire", as they are a nervous, but curious character.

I just read something that is making me insane so I need to share it with you. It’s a commentary on the Puritans called Helpful Truth in Past Places. This chapter is about Jonathan Edwards and emotions and how he stressed
the need for believers to recognize that David’s laments which deal with depression or anger or fear were intended to be sung publicly and thus to be instrumental in helping us develop more godly lives. And yet today, the tendency is to only sing praise oriented psalms and neglect the difficulties of the laments. Perhaps this is one cause of the relative shallowness of Christian experience in the western world today. (emphasis mine)
Can you imagine that? Think of hundreds of people, think of your church singing in one voice
my eye grows dim through sorrow. Every day I call upon you, O LORD; I spread out my hands to you.
Do you work wonders for the dead? Do the departed rise up to praise you? Selah
Is your steadfast love declared in the grave, or your faithfulness in Abaddon?
(Ps 88:9-11)
Or
He has made my teeth grind on gravel, and made me cower in ashes; my soul is bereft of peace; I have forgotten what happiness is; so I say, “My endurance has perished; so has my hope from the LORD.”
(Lam 3:16-17)
Can you think how cathartic that would be? How unifying? How even in the expression of our suffering there is relief, especially when we bearing it’s burden together and bringing it before the Lord?
“b-but we can’t praise God by singing about how sad we are.”
WRONG. Go to the throne room of heaven and see what is proclaimed there
When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne. They cried out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you will judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” (Rev 6:9-10)
Do you want to know why it is so good and God glorifying to go before God with our questions and burdens? Because of what it says in verse 11, “Then they were each given a white robe and told to rest a little longer. . .” God comes to us in our suffering! He answers! When we go to Him with our sorrows He gets to be our Comforter!
He clothes us in righteousness and honor and helps us to rest a little longer! God doesn’t want a bunch of worshipers who can only express vague ephemeral happiness in response to Him. We were meant to glorify Him with all feelings. We are giving Him less than He deserves by not bearing our souls to Him with all its burdens and failings.

God Will Punish the Proud
For the director of music. A maskil of David. When Doeg the Edomite came to Saul and said to him, “David is in Ahimelech’s house.”
1 Mighty warrior, why do you brag about the evil you do? God’s love will continue forever. 2 You think up evil plans. Your tongue is like a sharp razor, making up lies. 3 You love wrong more than right and lies more than truth. Selah 4 You love words that bite and tongues that lie.
5 But God will ruin you forever. He will grab you and throw you out of your tent. He will tear you away from the land of the living. Selah 6 Those who do right will see this and fear God. They will laugh at you and say, 7 “Look what happened to the man who did not depend on God. Instead, he depended on his money. He grew strong by his evil plans.”
8 But I am like an olive tree growing in God’s Temple. I trust God’s love forever and ever. 9 God, I will thank you forever for what you have done. With those who worship you, I will trust you because you are good. — Psalm 52 | International Children’s Bible (ICB) The Holy Bible, International Children’s Bible® Copyright© 1986, 1988, 1999, 2015 by Thomas Nelson.
