Keanu Reeves reminds me of Gregory Peck, another handsome movie star of limited acting range who succeeded by being eminently likable. Just as Peck was miscast as the demonic Captain Ahab of John Huston's Moby Dick (1956), Reeves struggled to be convincing as the villainous Don John in Kenneth Branagh's Much Ado About Nothing (1993) -- something about both performers seems to draw a sympathetic response from the audience. That something is certainly needed in John Wick, with Reeves playing a remorseless hit man, though the actor is so innately likable that the filmmakers didn't really need to kill Wick's puppy to elicit audience sympathy. Shoot-'em-up thrillers are so common these days that adding another franchise to the action genre seems like overkill. But what makes John Wick work is screenwriter Derek Kolstad's ability to craft a believable alternate world in which the character can seem plausible. Director Chad Stahelski (and his co-director David Leitch, who was denied that credit by the Directors Guild) manage to create an ambience that evokes both French gangster movies and Hong Kong martial arts films -- Jean-Pierre Melville meets Tsui Hark -- while retaining a peculiarly American love of artillery and automobiles.

Bart had a brief solo run as the Flash; Avery Ho uses the name; if we're counting the future of the main universe there's also John Fox, Sela Allen, Jace Allen, Thondor Allen, Blaine Allen, and implicitly Iris West II.

I feel like you’re low-balling the number of Flashes there.

It's specifically only the ones using the name Flash. So, Jay Garrick, Barry Allen, and Wally West.

As far as I'm aware, that's the lot on the main DC Universe.

Who do you think are the most OP members of the FlashFam? I think it's difficult, the majority of them has almost the same powers.

Wally, Bart and Barry.

I think we forget sometimes that the vast majority of the crazy feats of godlike powers we see from speedsters are coming from these three. Wally, Bart and Barry have insane connections to the speedforce and their skill level is unmatched. What these three can do is by no means normal or average. They are op as fuck.

You have to remember that even... let's say Max Mercury is nowhere even remotely near their skill level. And we're talking about Max Mercury. The guy who knows more about the speedforce than anyone else and trained for years to master it. But Max (although he was faster than Bart when Bart was a child) isn't on the same playing field as Wally, Bart and Barry. Max couldn't enter the speedforce without Bart's assistance, Max couldn't leave the speedforce without Barry and Wally's assistance, Max can't time travel to a destination of his own choice, Max can't speed steal or fully pause time, ect ect. Max is one of the most skilled, most knowledgeable, most trained and most respected speedsters of all time. Max is the cream of the crop. You won't find another speedster better than Max. He's a shining example of what's humanely possible for speedsters to achieve.

But Wally, Bart and Barry aren't humanely possible. Those three are insane.

Do you guys remember how fast Wally used to be? When he was younger and struggling with his speed and stuff? THAT'S THE GODDAMN AVERAGE. Wally AT HIS SLOWEST was still faster than every single goddamn speedster he came across, including Jay, Johnny, Jesse, the Blue Trinity, the Red Trinity, ect. HE JUST WASN'T FASTER THAN BARRY OR EOBARD SO HE THOUGHT HE WAS THE WORST. Because Wally is fucking insane. He's an insane human being. Anyway, Wally at his slowest is the typical representation of an average speedster. That's how they typically are.

I just adore the concept of speedsters being the personification/embodiment of the Speed Force/those in the Speed Force like this Impulse and Sela Allen and Wally that one time. It’s just such a cool and interesting concept!

Oh yeah John totally kissed his great whatever grandmother so that's really weird. But it's also not the only case of weird time travel caused incestuous relationships in the Flash family.... Unfortunately.

Malcolm Thawne is Barry's twin brother so every Thawne is technically an Allen.... So then Bart's parents.... Well.....

Oh but if you guys want some deep cuts for the Flash family tree there's Jay Garrick's late son Jimmy, Bart's lesser known clone Cherub, Jay Garrick's clone, Charlotte West (Iris, Rudy and Daniel's older sister) and her daughter Inez, and then of course Iris' adopted son Joshua who unfortunately died.

(but to go back to John Fox, his whole existence means that Kyle has a kid one day and that kid has a kid with one of Wally's kids or that Kyle's grandkid has a kid with Wally's grandkid. Wild stuff right there)

I hate it when a one-shot character from a "hypothetical future" comic that canon made impossible by the end of the story itself works their way into my brain and lodges there
