Okayyy Theory time! (Ch 114.5)
So my main subject of concern is the Tripolar Singularity. It is very obvious that the flying guy Atsushi and Akutagawa were fighting in the end is that singularity.
But my main question is how would you defeat a Singularity without a Singularity? Because as we see in Chuuya's case, Arahabaki if unleashed would destroy everything. So how would Shin Soukoku defeat this Fukuchi Singularity without any other.
(Please note that a lot of information here is from multiple sources)
Now, lets talk about
Atsushi:
During Dead Apple, we see that Shibusawa always feels that something is missing and the feeling messes him up. Fyodor then tells him about an ability that "guides the envy of all ability users". That ability is contained within Atsushi and we know that Shibusawa tries to attain that by experimenting on him but it backfires. This brings up a very interesting question of : How does Fyodor know about Atsushi?
But lets put that aside for a while and talk about Shibusawa and Atsushi. Atsushi's tiger is referred to as "Byakko" while the original translation of of tiger in Japanese is "tora". This is being referred to the "Four Guardians of the Four Compass Directions" where the dragon (Seiryu)guards the east and the white tiger (Byakko) guards the west.
One of the cores of Dead Apple was to highlight Atsushi's Ability as more than just a tiger. Shibusawa’s ability was not a singularity, though it might look like one, but as Fyodor goes on in dead apple and says that it is a chaos  born from the abilities. Meanwhile, Atsushi's ability is described as "the anti-thesis of abilities". Byakko also doesn't regenerate but 'denies the wound' and revert it back to its original state.
As for Singularities ,they aren’t bound to the conventional rules that an ability usually has like , the ability will leave as their owner dies and therefore are much more powerful for that reason. In order to create a singularity one has to crash contradicting abilities with each other or join the extremes as we see Fyodor doing.
My point being: Given the origin of the ideas for their abilities, it is plausible to say that Byakko and Shibusawa's dragon stand on the plane when it comes to power. The dragon was strong enough to be called a Singularity; and if Atsushi's ability can contradict the nature or the bounds the abilities cannot break, given the right circumstance, it can either be turned into a Singularity or become strong enough to face one off.
Which brings me to
Akutagawa:
Akutagawa describes his ability to Atsushi as "My Rashƍmon is something of a gourmand. It eats through all in its path. My black beast eats through all it encounters, even if that something is space itself."
Rashoumon is a very strong ability, that can devour space itself. Yk something else that is also not bound by space: Amenogozen.
When they combine, they can defeat anything together, the unknown factor of Shin Soukoku making a singularity together or being powered up enough to very similar to a singularity might have something to do with Akutagawa. We don’t know now that Bram is gone, whats gonna happen to the Vampire army, do they revert back or something?? But there has to be something very important from his side. And when they all combine, as we see Astushi and Akutagawa often combining their abilities , its gonna be strong enough to defeat the Tripolar Singualrity.
All of these raise multiple questions though: "How strong can Atsushi's ability actually is?" or "What more can it do?" or "How does it serve as being a guide to The Book?"
and if Atsushi was created to protect the fourth barrier of The Book, "What does Sigma's existence entails?". If Dazai was going to figure out Fyodor's ability on his own, "What is the purpose of creating Sigma?" (I also haven't read Beast so I don't know how Dazai found The Book in that one).
Also the all the time enigma: Fyodor Dostoevsky

It's been a solid few months now of Her Highness living in her own little tank with the company of only a single nerite snail that she isn't physically capable of assaulting, and I am happy to report that not only is she still exhibiting active and curious behavior, but also that I am finally actually starting to be happy with how the tank turned out.
My original plan for the visual design of the tank was to have a mix of Iwagumi and Dutch: I wanted some pretty seiryu stones with a foreground of monte carlo carpet, and a Dutch-style planted backdrop behind the stones.
The monte carlo carpet is growing in great now that I've yanked out the last vestiges of the glossostigma I'd also planted in there, but unfortunately 3/5 of the background plants that I used either died off or just weren't what I wanted and expected. I finally just yanked out the slowly decomposing stems and replaced them with a small forest of crypt wendtiis, and I think I'm very happy with that. Crypts are pretty, they'll grow pretty huge if the ones in my big tank are anything to go by, and they're nowhere near as much maintenance as stem plants. I'm tired of trimming, replanting, and dead lower stems.
I am hoping this will also help the algae get under control. The diatoms are finally dissipating, but I've started getting hair algae, and I'm convinced that it was at least partly from the decomposition of the struggling plants, since it's extremely easy to not overfeed a single betta fish. That, or I'm not fertilizing enough. Fingers crossed!

Concept for Like A Dragon 9:
Given how both of the big bads have been his brothers, Ichiban decides to head off any potential future trouble by tracking down every woman that Masumi Arakawa had a relationship with. His most recent mistress died a few years back of Covid, but he finds out she did have a son, Kenji. Ichiban tracks Kenji down to a small fishing village, but when he gets there, the trail goes completely cold. No one has even heard of the guy.
While he's in the fishing village, he meets a tall, beautiful, and powerful woman named Kyoko. She takes part in some underground fights and is having trouble with a small-time local gang leader. He helps her fight the gang, and she reveals that she knew Kenji, but she hasn't seen him in years. But he always resented Arakawa for abandoning him like that. Ichiban realizes that abandoning people was a real pattern for his father and the two part amicably.
A year or so later, the Seiryu Clan is suffering from a power vacuum. It's still the largest remaining Yakuza family in Japan, but no one has been able to maintain control for very long. Suddenly, Kenji Arakawa returns, and he's the small-time gang leader! Also, he and Kyoko must have settled their differences because she's his girlfriend now.
He takes over the Seiryu Clan and engages in a brutal but insanely reckless purge of all of their enemies. Among the targets are Ichiban himself and all of his friends. Ichiban doesn't believe it and goes to Kyoko to find out what's going on. She tells Ichiban that "Kenji" is a total fraud (duh), with him having overheard their conversation and tracked down the real Kenji. That's how he faked the DNA test, and the only reason she's working with him is to get Kenji back.
I should note at this point that there are several fights with Kyoko. She's the first female enemy in the series, and she often has other women fighting with her, too. She's an extremely capable fighter and easily Ichiban's equal if not superior.
Kyoko proves herself a capable leader, but Kenji is erratic and unstable, a small timer playing in the big leagues. Some of they younger Yakuza start to respect Kyoko far more, but the older, more conservative Yakuza make all sorts of derogatory comments about Kyoko, which he almost seems to encourage.
Meanwhile, Ichiban tracks down where Kenji is supposedly being kept, but when he gets there, it's an ambush, and it looks like he's killed in an explosion. The Seiryu Clan celebrates this at a hostess bar, but the vibe seems off. Something isn't right. The younger Yakuza peel off one by one with flimsy excuses or not even a word. Once they're all gone, the hostesses pull out knives and slit the old Yakuza's throats or hold them down and stab them repeatedly, with the men too drunk to really fight back. Kyoko comes out and finds "Kenji" still alive, being held down. He rants about how they had a deal and she tells him that he shouldn't trust a yakuza. They'll always abandon you in the end.
Ichiban survived, of course. In the house–Kyoko's house–he found evidence that proved Kyoko was born as Kenji. She's a trans woman and his missing sibling. This should feel very different from the typical trans reveal because of how much it's been reinforced that society is unfair to women, and being a woman has only made Kyoko's life difficult. She should have absolutely no chemistry with Ichiban because she knew they were siblings from the start. This is an opportunity for the series to confront its less than stellar gender politics, especially the earlier handling of trans issues.
When she transitioned, Arakawa accepted her gender identity, for good and ill. But first he gave her a cruel choice: Woman or Yakuza. Either way, she would lose some vital aspect of herself. She chose woman, so he embraced her, called her his daughter, and then cut her out of his life. When Ichiban showed up, it brought back all of that old pain, and she decided she couldn't live without that part of herself anymore. She would reclaim what was rightfully hers.
When she has her shirtless fight (with a tasteful sports bra on), her tattoo is of Amanozako. A female demon born of Susanoo's repressed desires, whose name means "she who opposes everything in heaven."
There would be more to this story. Some stuff about Bleach Japan, probably. But it would once again be about the sins of the past and how the Yakuza need to change in the modern world.
(PS: because this is the piss on the poor site, I should note that I am transgender and this is coming from a place of wanting more representation)

đŸŽ” I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was đŸŽ¶ (Cora & The Four Lords)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ ID: A set of FFXIV Pokemon Trainer portrait parody images. The first image is a young 14 year old Cora and his four starter auspices: L-R Suzaku the red bird, Seiryu the snake, Byakko the tiger cub and Genbu the tortoise. Cora holds Byakko in one arm like a kitten, and Seiryu is so small he has to perch on Cora's head or he gets lots. The second image is an older 24 year old Cora and his four evolved auspices: L-R Seiryu the serpent, Suzaku the firebird, Genbu the tortoise and Byakko the white tiger. They are in their full auspice animal form and looking extremely fierce... Except for Genbu who is still cute and tiny but will Hydro Cannon you to the face if you tease him. ]

Hello, I recently setup my first brackish tank. I started with freshwater for 1 week. Then added 1 teaspoon per gallon of instant ocean sea salt to achieve 1.001 SG. After 1 week I did a 50% water change and added 1.5 teaspoons per gallon and somehow landed at 1.003 SG. I also have aragonite sand mixed with inert sand and some large seiryu stone pieces. My concern is my GH is testing insanely high. With strip tests it's off the charts and with sera liquid test it's around 32dGH. Is that normal?
That is extremely high yes. Have you tested your tap water to see what your "base" Hardness is?
That might not be a deal breaker... some fish love super hard water (the Poecilia livebearers come to mind). What is it you are trying to stock here? The interesting thing is that many classic low end brackish fish like Mollies, Orange Chromides, and Bumblebee Gobies are actually perfectly happy in rock hard freshwater.

A little bit about DongHai: The current acting leader of the House Sieryu. He has been chosen to step up as the newest emperor due to the death of his older sibling.
Though the Suzaku House is reclusive, House Sieryu is even more so closed off; even to their beloved neighbors and fellow guardians. They can come off as extremely hostile if there is an intruder or outsider within their home. Now that their previous emperor has been killed, they are on the verge of an all out war in the upper realm.
DongHai is extremely gifted, and controls the rains to storm ever lastingly throughout the human realm as we speak. Nature itself takes to his call, growing rampant and angry with every passing day.

[Just then, a limousine shows up with three people getting out of it. These three are called “The Dojima Lieutenants.]
[Daisaku Kuze: He is an old man who stands at above-average height, with black hair, that he wears in a pompadour. He has a lean build, despite his age, possessing extremely good musculature. Kuze's tattoo depicts Enma, the judge and ruler of Hell on his back, while the guardians of Hell, Gozu (Ox-Head) and Mezu (Horse-Face) adorn his left and right upper arms respectively. Kuze's standard attire consists of a light grey suit, an unbuttoned white patterned dress shirt, matching white snakeskin belt and loafers and gold rimmed sunglasses.]
[Keiji Shibusawa: He is a middle-aged man, having a round face, sporting a light goatee. Out of the three lieutenants, Shibusawa is the most formal in terms of appearance, save for his hairstyle, which is short at the top and closely shaved on the sides. His hair is black, with a few white strands on his sides and stubble. He stands at above average height, and possesses a fairly muscular build, in spite of his outwardly business-like appearance. Shibusawa's tattoo depicts a green Azure Dragon, or "Seiryu", one of the four Chinese celestial beings and the protector of eastern Japan. It is shown to be flying downward as a bringer of wealth and prosperity to the earth, befitting of Shibusawa overseeing the Dojima Family's financial matters and bringing in large amounts of money for his boss. Shibusawa's wears a black pinstripe suit with a grey dress shirt and gold necktie underneath, and a pin depicting his family's crest on his left jacket lapel. The rest of his attire consists of a black leather belt, gold-frame, rimless wayfare glasses; brown, cap-toe, monk-strap dress shoes; and a gold watch with a black, crocodile-leather band.]
[Hiroki Awano: He is a tall, middle-aged man with black hair styled in a pompadour. His face is slightly chubby, but despite his gluttonous lifestyle, he retains an extremely muscular body. Awano's tattoo depicts Momotaro, the main character from a popular Japanese folk tale where Momotaro travels to an island of demons that are threatening his village and slays them. Awano's attire is a purple paisley pattern designer double breasted peak lapel jacket with a black turtleneck sweater underneath and a small gold chain. He wears basic black suit pants and a pair of black patent leather shoes.]

This lalafell single-handedly makes it so I can do lvl 70+ extreme trials in FFXIV unsynced. My brother plays as summoner and I play as warrior during the trials. We’ve been able to get through all but 2 of the Stormblood raids with just the two of us so far. We just have Shinryu and Seiryu and then we have all of the wolf mounts!  I plan on opening commissions in a couple of days when I finish two more examples. So, if you’d like a headshot commission like this keep an eye out for when I announce them!

#8, 9, 10, and 25!
8. BGM/Vocal Music:
There are so many extremely good songs and second place goes to the Twinning because holy hell is that the Good Shit. Also shout out to any time I get to relive any previous FFs music in-game; I become a squealing fangirl
But the music for The Final Steps of Faith is MASTERFUL. You start with Dragonsong, already in this emotional place because Hraes is downed and you have to save Estinien and the game is playing this bittersweet song
And the change into the Estinien phase, which is an intense rendition Heavensward the oh shit moment of we are fighting our friend he is being twisted
AND THEN! AND THEN! THE HEAVY CHORAL PART OF HEAVENSWARD FOR PHASE THREE MY GODS BECAUSE THAT PART IN THE SONG IS THE DRAGONS SINGING, ITS NIDHOGG'S CHORAL I-
Holy hell do I get goosebumps every single time even when I'm just helping people do mount grinds
9. Trial:
I mean yeah, clearly Final Steps of Faith has a special place in my heart. But second place is probably Seiryu. Especially unsynced mount grinding EX--once I got the mechanics down it was pretty fun and the music is A+
10. Dungeon:
Playing the Twinning on Dancer is so fucking fun y'all.
25. What region/city would you live in?
I live in the northeast and wear shorts as much as I can so probably post-reform Ishgard. I am a delicate flower when it's hot and humid out.
I like the feel of Revenant's Toll but I would want to be in a more populated place than that

headcanon: phoenix associations and Akiyama’s gold pendant
The Yakuza games have always played with references to the mythical four gods or four beasts, originally with heat actions or abilities that could be unlocked and were named after a dragon, a phoenix, a tiger and a tortoise. These are the four sacred gods of several Asian cultures, and they have been given different names depending on the country (but the myth is largely similar).
In Japan, the four beasts are known as Seiryu (the Azure Dragon of the East), Suzaku (the Vermillion Bird of the South), Byakko (the White Tiger of the West) and Genbu (the Black Tortoise of the North). And in Y4, they are very clearly represented by Kiryu, Akiyama, Saejima and Tanimura, respectively - the connections to Kiryu and Saejima are obvious, given their names and even their irezumi; but even Akiyama and Tanimura have added similarities, with Akiyama exhibiting a fast/kick-based style (not unlike a bird) and Tanimura having a mostly defensive/evasive style (similar to a turtle).
(One could argue that the symbolism carries over to Y5 considering how little the main cast changes and how Shinada feels like a Tanimura replacement sometimes, but I digress.)
In addition to the above, I also headcanon that Akiyama has adopted the phoenix as some sort of symbol for himself - as far as my portrayal is concerned, the gold pendant that he has around his neck is a golden medal depicting a phoenix, similar to this one. It is a reminder that hitting rock bottom doesn’t necessarily mean the end to everything and that rebirths are fully possible.
For Akiyama, his life is very clearly divided by the embezzlement scandal that led him to the streets - while he doesn’t openly hide or renegade the person he used to be and may talk about these years from time to time (such as when he explained to Kido why he believed/support Arai so much in Y4), Akiyama is ashamed of the man he was brought up to be. He sees his past self as someone biased, arrogant, prejudiced, extremely ignorant of everything that truly mattered and blinded by greed and false notions of success.
In short - his fall from grace was the best thing that happened to him; it served only to make him open his eyes, understand himself at his core and emerge as someone much more comfortable in his skin, confident of his choices and with a selfless, protective nature. His willpower to live and the burning desire to make the difference were awakened, and he now knows that - should these flames be extinguished again - he will be able to make another comeback.
Akiyama (despite appearances) does not give up - he doesn’t know how.
