Main Characters: Odarem Mortis (His POV) & Seifer Sanaca Side Characters/Mentioned Characters: Vrikoh Havlok (Odarem's official fleet general) & Seifer's Fleet Captain (Armand Buleis) Setting: Seifers' Newest Fleet Ship, some 2 or so sweeps back CW(s): Mentions of Blood and allusions to a murder
----- Google Docs Link -----
You step off of the small transport vessel that had ferried you to your new assignment, the scent of blood hitting your nose immediately, causing you to raise your face mask into place. Well, you’re actually catching two distinct blood trails coming from different directions, but one is a lot fresher… You can’t help but find this curious, as the murder you’re meant to be investigating happened two days ago. Despite your curiosities, your outward demeanor does nothing to show that as you approach to meet with the captain of the ship.
“Doctor Mortis… good to see you’ve finally arrived. I’m sure I don’t need to waste my time briefing you on the situation at hand, do I?” The seadweller raises a harsh brow, tapping his cane to the floor in obvious impatience.
“Not at all, Sir. I read the report on the way, with permission from General Havlok to take as long as required.”
He studies you, perhaps bothered that he can’t see most of your face to scrutinize your expression for not being respectful enough, given the eyepatch and mask you wear. “I give you free rein of the main floor to investigate and find the culprit as you must. If, for whatever reason, you require access to another floor, my Lieutenant will see to you and handle it from there. I expect this dealt with in the next two hours or less, cusp-blood.”
“Just for you, Captain, I’ll have it done in one.” He may not know you’ve got a smarmy little smirk on your face, or that you would’ve winked there as you give your ‘to attention’ salute, but you know, and that’s what really matters here.
After getting that asshole off your back, you don’t waste a second before you’re turning toward the fresh scent of blood, slipping your mask down as your nose twitches and you head towards it. You’re careful to listen for any footsteps or other noises following after you, but hear nothing besides your own boots hitting the floor.
This isn’t a scent you’ve encountered in some time, you think, puzzling over what it could be, when the scent of something distinctly unfamiliar clouds up the mix in your head. This is peculiar, it wouldn’t match up with the killer's profile at all, as far as you know. This drives your curiosity ever higher, and you walk quickly and with purpose… until you come to the end of a series of shoebox-style rooms for the military grunts and reach a… repurposed supply room?
You lean close to the door, listening in, but only hear a grunt and the creaking of a bed. Perhaps an isolated soldier with some kind of odd illness? Why the blood? Why no medical staff nearby? You can’t help it, you know you’d be able to track the murderer down in 20 minutes tops, so you have some time to spare.
With that, you raise a gloved hand to knock gently on the door and speak only loud enough to hopefully be heard by whoever’s inside. “Hey in there, I’m here under your captain's orders. My name is Odarem Mortis, may I come in?”
There’s a long pause where you wonder if they even heard you, until a rasped voice answers you, hesitant confusion lacing their tone. “What…? You... no, leave me alone...”
You’re really not one to push, but your curiosity and concern for this individual push you to ask once more. “Are you sure..? I won’t pry, but I’d just like to check and see if you’re alright, if I can. I won’t cause you trouble, swear on my last good eye.” Shifting your weight slightly from foot to foot, you await their answer through another pause.
“There is nothing to check…”
As the voice trails off, you’re readying yourself to respect the refusal when the voice interrupts your line of thought.
“But you may come in if you really wish to…”
You open the door slowly, your other hand up in the air passively as the tired-sounding stranger comes into view. The shade of violet he possesses immediately ticks your box for a likely mutant, and your gaze gets a little more sympathetic than it already was. You can’t help but note the dried blood on his clothing, that you must’ve caught the scent of to lead you here. He looks at you warily for a moment before hanging his head, as though hoping to avoid any judgement and conversation.
Still, you can’t help but want to converse with him, shutting the door and moving away from it so he doesn’t feel trapped by any chance. “Are you hurt?” you ask softly, trying to be forthright and genuine, to hopefully ease that heavy tension you can tell sits in his whole body like a rock.
His fins flick, but you can’t tell if that’s good or bad yet. “I have no injuries…” The violet refuses to look at you as he answers.
Cautiously, you approach to sit on the far end of his bed and he tenses, though he relaxes a bit more when you don’t make any further movements.
“Can I ask about the source of the blood?”
Immediately his fins flatten and his head turns a little further away from you, indicating that this was the wrong question, so you quickly supply more to follow it up, “You don’t have to tell me anything, your privacy is your own… it would be nice to know your name though, if you’re feeling adventurous?” Your tone is playful at the tail end; non-threatening.
Something about your response eases a lot of the tension he was holding, and he finally turns to look at you, even if his body language remains closed and curled in on itself.
“Seifer…”
The seadweller, Seifer as he’s told you now, studies you- though unlike his captain, his gaze is like that of a prey animal rather than a bored predator. You feel a bit of pain in your chest at whatever put this man in such a state, though instead of showing that, you smile at him brightly. “Nice to meet you, Seifer. I’m Odarem, though you probably heard that through the door already.”
Seifer gives an affirmative sound, eyeing you with a bit of curious interest of his own now as you continue.
“I’m here on work, so I can’t stay long, but… did you want some company? I’ve got half an hour to do something other than my job, give or take, and you seem like you’d be good to chat with. Handsome too, if it’s not overly forward of me to say.” The smile on your face remains relaxed and easy, keeping the pressure as low as possible.
At the compliment to his obviously disheveled appearance, he blushes, fins twitching again. You note that the twitch is probably a positive sign at this point.
“I… y-you can stay, if you would really like, but… I cannot promise I’m good company.”
“I think you’ve done a fine job of it so far, Seif, I’m already having a nice time. And well, you seem like you could use some good company, yeah?”
There’s some hard-to-read look in his ringed eyes like he’s almost in disbelief at how kind you’ve been. He leans slightly closer in your direction, though you suspect it to be subconsciously. You can’t help but wonder if the fact he let you nickname him so quickly and is no longer moving away from you means anything… is he that starved for kindness here? You suppose that you shouldn’t be surprised, given the state you found him in, and the fact he doesn’t even have a proper room- along with the sour attitude his commanding captain wears.
Cautiously you reach a hand forward, stopping when you see him stiffen a bit, though not fully retracting your reach. “Apologies, I should ask… You seem tense, is all. It isn’t my place to ask you why-- though given this place I don’t blame you.”
He seems put at ease by your casual insult to the ship, though, and he doesn’t lean away from you, so you press a little more. “I can loosen up those knots in your shoulders if you’d like. Might make the place a little more bearable? And don’t worry, I’ve got a degree in easing tension.” You joke, keeping it light.
Seifer fiddles with his necklace as he seems to consider your offer, another slight blush dusting the tips of his ears behind his fins, though you’re not sure exactly which part of your words prompted this.
“Go… go ahead,” Seifer mumbles, looking away from you, but not moving as you shift closer now, slightly behind and beside him on the bed and lifting your hands to hover over his shoulders.
“I’m going to place my hands on you now, just a heads up, Seif.”
He makes a low, appreciative grunt of acknowledgment, and you gently place your hands down on his shoulders, easing into pressing your thumbs into the muscle to work them loose. A little bit of time passes as you feel him melt beneath your hands, giving sounds of approval when you break the tension spots up.
You lean forward to ask him how he’s feeling, right as he seems to turn his head to say something to you, and you nearly bump foreheads as both he and you still. Seifer looks a bit wide-eyed from what you think must be out of surprise until his face darkens with blush once more.
Speaking without thinking too much you ask, “Can I kiss you? I’d be gentle.”
Violet fins flutter even harder than they had before, though this time they remain more upright. Your question seems to do nothing to assuage his blush, though he appears too stunned to answer, so you speak again. “You can say no, of course. If that went too far, I can back off--”
“N... no, I--” He seems surprised by his own sudden protest, eyes glancing downward as he forces out the rest “Please do…”
You smile softly, brushing his lip with your thumb to catch his attention. “Of course.” And when he looks up, you kiss him gently.

Images and Propaganda/Info under the cut !
Paswon: Super sweet, easily flustered at times... Acts tough but he's a tender troll, usually... Submissive but will top or bottom, though she's much more of a mess if she bottoms, Always makes sure their partner gets off too,
Jejune: They're fairly dom leaning, i don't think they'd sub for anyone they weren't very close to.. they love to tease, and if you're into a bit of light mocking they're great for that too.. they're a talker also, they don't shut up in bed, Can handle things getting rough too,
Marlox: If you like a tsundere type, Marlox is it for you.. they prefer to bottom, but can and will top.. surprisingly easy to embarrass and knock his attitude out of him if you know what you're doing.. also, bc of his psionics, he's always vibrating slightly.. do w/ that what u will,
Drazms: Very sweet and attentive, but inexperienced... Will probably ask lots of questions any time they try to make you feel good to make sure they're doing it right but is very willing to try, Submissive leaning, but I think they'd top or bottom no issue.. they also prefer things slow and romantic,
Seifer: Hardcore submissive, totally incapable of being a dom these days... incredibly reactive and timid, but considerate... will let you do just about anything if you sprinkle in some praise and tenderness, even freak shit, Also he has excellent boobs,
Excirz: Either a very softcore dom or a sub that aims to please and make you feel good.. focuses more on his partner but isn't averse to attention... Has that round padded muscle and also has good boobs, Gets really noisy at times too.. Oh, and if you prefer things rougher or are a werewolf fucker, he's got that going on too,
Lucien/Lane: Kind of a brat ngl... he likes to antagonize a little and be put in his place, Prefers to bottom, but in the right mood and circumstances, he'll top... Willing to dom or sub, just depends on the person and his mood.. he also doesn't really need a dynamic either.. Can go vanilla or get into things like knife and breathplay too,

seifer + tavi
It comes down to how much prep time is involved, who knows what, and how unexpected the fight is.
If Seifer is adequately prepared, say, got gear that could stop or nullify Tavi's magic, then all he has to do is bind Tavi's hands to render him useless after that. Tavi is still agile and knows how to fight physically, sure, but he hasn't maintained his strength in a long time, you've seen those limp wrists and little waist. Meanwhile, Seifer's body perpetually resets to his peak physical health and strength each time he dies.
Without magic, I think it'd be an interesting fight, but Seifer might have the edge. And well, with magic.. Tavi is made to be a bit overpowered, you know? That's his thing, he just doesn't really take advantage of or abuse it. But if he had it and needed to, he could turn Seifer to ash, he could imprison him in a little pocket dimension, he could turn him into a goldfish,! Tavi is the clear winner in the unfair fight.

Seifer Softie Moments..
---- Google Docs Link I Guess ----
--------------
Seifer kneels down to the tide pool on the edge of his beachside home, scanning the various low-tide puddles in search of his lusus for the last time. After a quick moment, his eyes lock onto the little creature wiggling about to get his attention.
With a snaggletoothed smile, he reaches into the pool, pulling his parent into his cupped hands with the motion. As he lifts his lusus, he speaks in hushed tones, nervous and eager in equal parts.
"It's finally time, tomorrow I enter the fleet. This'll be the last time we see each other..."
The nudibranch lusus swims in a small circle in some form of acknowledgment that only Seifer can understand.
"I'll miss you too, but I think it'll be good for me. I'm tired of being lonely and directionless, you know?"
His lusus begins to glow faintly and it makes Seifer chuckle quietly.
"Besides you, yeah, I always had you- and thank you... for everything. Be safe, alright?"
The beast bumps its little head against his hand and slowly stops glowing.
"Love you too."
With that, Seifer gently places his now former lusus into a bigger, nicer tide pool, waves goodbye, and makes his way back hive for last-minute preparations.

Wild crazy one Navika and Seifer (My phone wanted to correct his name to swiffer)
Oh?? This IS a wild one...... this is so tough augh..
1) … rate the ship:
pls N O | not shipping it | nah | maybe | I WISH it’d work | yasss | I ship it | wOW PLEASE!
2) … tell you shortly about how I think they’d work (or why they wouldn’t) in that quad/general opinions!
Okay, so I'm wracking my foggy brain for everything I remember abt how Navika is with quads and stuff... taking that into consideration I think it wld be possible for them to have some kind of cordial relationship! However, Seifer has always been against killing other living things and Navika does do that A Bit, which wld be a big point of contention I think. I also know Seifer is also horrifically touch-starved and I don't think of Navika as someone who's all that touchy. As good as they wld look together and how badly I wont Navika idk if I could see any kind of quad there yk?

SLAMS IN LOST FOR SEIFER THANKS
Prompt 45 / Lost - Seifer Sanaca:
Major Characters: Otavah Minera (The Reshaper) and Seifer Sanaca Minor Character: Leiere Kedrie (NPC)
Setting: The Exchanges Fleet Vessel; Very distant past
—– Google Docs Link —–
“Up for a spar, General?” Spoke up the voice of Seifer, as he absently rotated his wrist, causing the blue metal of his dagger to gleam under the artificial lights-- unlike his short sword, which rested still in his other hand.
Two members of The Exchange's crew had just finished with a little sparring match of their own, ceasing the fight only when General Minera finally called it a draw. The combatants had shaken hands with sweaty palms and through labored breaths, but they both seemed content with the fact that neither of them had taken a loss in their friendly battle.
The General liked to watch their crew duke it out, stating that it was 'not only good for morale but made for excellent entertainment as well'. No one could really disagree with that sentiment either, it was a solid point. A lot of the crew would often stop in to watch a match going down, it really was a strong point of camaraderie on the ship.
Rising up from their lounging position off to the side of the ring, Otavah smiles cheekily at their lieutenant. “Think you can handle me at my best, Seifer?”
He lets out a puff of air from his nose in amusement, “I won’t start flying if you don’t.”
“You drive a hard bargain, Celeste, but I’ll try and hold off for your sake.”
The General has always been a bit of a tease, and it rarely mattered who he was talking to, Seifer was certainly no exception anyway. No one would expect Otavah to pass on the use of his wings, the man never put them away, and they were essential to the style of fighting he’d cultivated over the sweeps.
That being said, it wouldn’t kill him not to fly 15 feet up in the air, where the only one who could fight properly was him. Even he could admit things might get boring in that case, no matter how much the General loved playing a little dirty.
As the two men step up to take their opposing spots in the ring, their eyes meet. Seifer shakes his head slightly to knock his poof of a ponytail over his shoulder to rest against his back, then brings both of his weapons up in a readied stance.
Meanwhile, Otavah puts out both of his arms straight in front of him, rotating them in a swift motion so they cross over each other, hands now gripping an apparated pole blade and untwisting with a flourish to be in a more battle-ready position. It was hard to deny that despite how extra he was in everything he did, it was rather impressive to watch.
Seifer's mind wasn’t particularly focused on that aspect of things, although that didn’t stop Leiere, a member of his own squad, from cheering out, “Woohoo! Go, General! Kick his ass!” with all four of his arms fist pumping in the air for added emphasis.
Seeing the pleased and smug look that came over Otavah’s face was enough to make Seifer playfully roll his eyes. “Thanks for the damn vote of confidence, Lee! The support is noted!”
In that brief moment of distraction, Otavah already starts to play. Large, shimmering wings flit in small movements to aid in his languid approach. Seifer only has a moment to react to the pole blade curving up for his jaw, his arm twitching into a reaction to parry with his dagger. The metal clashes loudly, and several of the crew members around hoot and holler at the clutch counter.
There’s a brief pause where ringed violet eyes meet bronze crescents and General Minera laughs. Though the two of them are holding against each other in a seemingly effortless display, both are exerting enough strength to keep their strifes pressed together with a slight tremble on both sides.
“Already playing dirty, Otavah? I expected better.” Seifer says through a smile.
“Did you now? Your mistake, then, Celeste.” he retorts, a matching smile set on his own features.
In their brief back and forth, Seifer had moved his other hand slowly up, only to then bring it down in a swift move to try and slice into his combatant's shoulder. Otavah doesn’t even look toward the incoming threat as his wings flutter, allowing him to shift his shoulder back and away from harm. Without pause, he follows the movement up with a rotation of his blade to the left, forcing the sword into the ground.
“Shit-” is all Seifer has time to say before he has to make an evasive maneuver of his own, bending back at the waist to try and dodge the pole as it comes back for the upswing to the right. His reaction is only a fraction too late, but it’s enough that the weapon draws a small cut into his jaw, letting neon violet drops fly into the air.
At the first draw of blood, there are wide eyes and even more cheers from the onlookers. Things continue this way for a while, easily for over twenty minutes, as the two narrowly dodge each other's well-timed movements- or they seemingly fail to account for something, and they acquire a knick from one of the various weapons at play.
Moments occur where Seifer can feel the haze of magic buzzing around certain movements, but he keeps his mouth shut and allows himself moments of pride when his skills seem to keep him level with the mild fuckery afoot. Those continued moments of added confidence eventually become Seifer’s downfall, however, as his eyes track a repeated movement that the General had been using to go for a chest hit.
Seifer moves to parry it as he had in previous times, but the blade never actually makes contact with his dagger, and he notices the change too late.
Using a dancer's step, Otavah suddenly pivots in a spin to Seifer’s left, letting his right leg slide along the floor to bring him down low where his pole blade then sweeps behind his Lieutenants legs and knocks him down onto his back with a resounding thud. As the air comes back to Seifer’s lungs, he sees the tip of his opponent's blade hovering over his chest.
Several voices let out ‘ooh’s’ of sympathy, and a couple of others suck in air through their teeth at the sound. Just as many others also offer up a round of cheers or applause for the performance that the two of them gave.
“I believe you’ve lost, my dearest lieutenant.”
“Yeah, well,” A grunt as he pushes himself up onto his elbows, “I’d say I did pretty good given the integrity of my opponent, wouldn’t you?”
Another rich chuckle escapes his superior at that. “If I didn’t know better, I would think you were insulting me, Seifer.”
Otavah pulls his blade away and vanishes it off to gods only knows where before reaching out an olive branch of assistance: offering to help Seifer up. The violet reaches up to take it before it suddenly gets pulled away from reach. Another roll of Seifer's eyes, “You’re such an asshole, you know that?”
The Generals eyes glitter in amusement before reextending his hand. “Only messing with you my friend, no tricks this time.”
A skeptical look levels itself at Otavah for a long moment before Seifer, once again, reaches out to take their hand, and this time he makes contact, smacking their hands together audibly as he’s pulled to his feet.
“Alright, I’m gonna go take one hell of a power nap, if you don’t mind, General.” With that comment, Seifer begins to take his leave, followed quickly by Leiere- who was about to start chatting him up, before a voice calls after them both.
“By all means, Lieutenant,” they shrug, relaxed as always, “but don’t forget that your group is scheduled for a scouting mission at o-800 sharp!”
With a soft groan, Seifer only gives a thumbs-up in reply as the duo turns the corner.

“We’ve begun to reevaluate old information regarding the fall and disappearance of The Exchange.”
You sit still and remain silent, gaze looking off to the side. The title makes you feel a lot of things, but you let them stay buried deep within you.
“As you’re one of the previous members of his crew, you’ll need to answer some questions for us. Most of them will pertain to this particular subject matter, but it is in your best interest to answer any and all other questions we have for you.”
You offer the same behavior as before, apart for a small hum of affirmation. You squeeze one hand with the other as it rests in your lap.
“Now before we begin, I’ll need you to state your name and previously held rank.”
There’s a long pause before you reluctantly look up and answer, “Seifer Sanaca... former Blue Angel Lietenant.”
--Seifer Sanaca is Available for Asks--

mr sanaca, do you anything about why the exchange disappeared?
"Because he was a fucking coward... he gave the order before considering the repercussions he wasn't prepared for. We were his friends..."
> There's a distinct waver in Seifer's voice when he speaks again.
"None of us were ready, but only we live with his consequences..."

> Seifer is quiet for a long moment, and a quick flicker of several different emotions passes over his face before he settles on one of recollection.
"He was my general... he was one of the space-traveling types, meant to find aliens and acquire their knowledge and resources, and he was incredible at it, but..."
> A look of frustration takes its place on his face.
"We were supposed to be peaceful, we always had been, until the end..."
