Eyeless Jack Headcanons That Won't Leave My Brain

Despite being a serial killer, he's the only one who "appreciates" death, in some sense. He's had to learn so much anatomy and how the human body works that he's learned to appreciate and also detest the way it works and how everything's situated

Finds some thrill in encountering a victim who's actually more difficult to take down, who can sustain more injuries than most, and figuring out what it'll take to finally end their life

Will get exasperated if they don't go down after he inflicts an injury he believes should kill them, though. Goes in for a particularly vicious kill after that

At some point had a journal where he documented victims like that but eventually lost the journal and didn't bother looking for a replacement

Sometimes he'll tell Ben, though. And Ben will document for him if asked. And so now he'll document it digitally through him

Is a bit of a masochist, but would never admit this

Constantly has to refrain and restrain himself from self-mutilating to figure out what his limits are

Looks up at the stars or into lakes (or just stares out into nature in general) to distract himself, since the serenity of it all seems to do wonders on his psyche

It's also why he smokes

Fighting other killers is really the only time he can find out what his limits might be, but his need to keep his limits a secret from literally everyone else prevents him from testing thoroughly

He figures Jeff could probably kill him quicker than he'd like to admit, though

Back to learning how the body works, he's also learned animal anatomy and how different that all is to humans

Has become a makeshift vet when the time calls for it (see: Smile Dog)

He never really knows how to treat the vaguely humanoid creatures that come to him for help so he just mixes methods that work for humans and animals with each other and hopes for the best

There was an incident where he had to patch Seed Eater up. It was an unsettling time

I remember seeing people a while back portray Seed Eater as EJ's pet and I personally don't agree but because I don't think Seed Eater would allow himself to be belittled with such a title (it's still a nice idea though, I liked the fanart I saw from it)

I like to think that they tend to stay away from each other as much as possible unless their interaction can mutually benefit them. EJ can give Seed Eater things to lure people to eat them and Seed Eater lets him live and leaves him alone

They never seek each other out, they just happen to run into each other sometimes

Which is wild when it does happen because neither of them stay in one place for too long

Seedeater

He's the guardian of the manor, and mainly in charge of hunting small beasts and creatures that attempt to weasel their way into the manor walls.

He’s very much sentient, even if he can only muster few english words he’s picked up from the folks around him. And he recognizes job shifts, patterns, moods of people, and venomous beasts trying to scamper around the boundary of the territory.

Humans are the only creatures that have a sixth sense, and they're very useful to have around the manor since they can feel oncoming negative presences, such as an unwanted demonic guest.

Seed does not have a sixth sense, but he will pick up of anyone's heart dropping to their stomach or goosebumps rising on the back of their neck.

He will go out and hunt the grounds, finding whatever is triggering the human's fear and will to survive.

Most times it's a simple PuffBall, a creature covered in fur that rolls around and latches onto a host to suck out their memories. If left on for too long, they'll eventually forget who they are, and how to eat and breathe.

It's nothing but a little mid-day snack for Seed.

Considering Eyeless Jack first discovered him, he is the closest to him. And with how often Nina bothers Jack, he's grown a soft spot for her as well.

He often begs for scraps if they ever go out together for a hunt.

Jack will get the organs, and Seed will swallow the rest of the evidence (aka the entire body).

He's also just the best to take a nap on. The two of them will often nap under a tree, and Jack will melt into his plush mane dedicated to being a pillow for the time being.

If Seed stays v e r y still, he might wait for a bird pecking for worms beneath him before opening his quadrant-split beak and swallowing it whole.

He's also friends with Widemouth, because the creature bribes Seed with rotting flesh despite being in a Tom-and-Jerry relationship with each other.

The Rake is well...The Rake. They are never keen on making friends outside of not killing allys.

But Seed will either get a pat on the shoulder or a jump in the other direction while passing manor residents. They either love him or they're scared shitless.

Here are some more headcanons about Eyeless Jack :))

Eyeless Jack has lived in the mansion for a while, but was expelled from the mansion after killing a proxy.

Jack hates almost everyone who lives in the mansion, the only exceptions are Sally, Ben Drowned, Seed Eater, Nina the Killer, Clockwork and Lulu, he basically only lived in his room, he had counted on anyone, the only real friendship he It was with Seed Eater.

Some of the Creepypastas tried to be Jack's "friends", but they didn't want to be really friends of Jack, as they just wanted Jack's protection since he was one of the strongest and frightening Creepypastas of the mansion.

Jack doesn't like very hot places, he remembers that in the ritual the temperature was very, very hot, he felt as if his skin was burning, so he prefers to stay in cold places.

In addition to Jack eating the organs, he also eats the meat of his victims, Jack no longer feels a kind of normal hunger, the hunger he feels is horribly colossal, it seems that even if the ritual has not worked, something was still inside from Jack, something really bad.

Jack spends all day sleeping and only goes out to eat or do anything else at night, after the ritual Jack started to feel very sleepy, so much so that it was difficult for him to stay awake.

It took a long time for Jack to get used to his "new" body, he had gotten bigger, stronger, he couldn't see, his nose was much more sensitive, he had a syrup and claws now, it seemed like his body was more cold resistant except his nose that was still sensitive to cold, very sensitive.

Jack had a lot of bad experiences for not having eyes and especially for not being able to see, things like snow, dust and rain drops ended up falling inside their orbits, and every time that happened a lot, so Jack began to be even more careful.

Over time Jack ended up unlearning to speak, he was slowly losing his humanity and sanity, a long time ago he didn't talk to someone, and his throat hurt when he was talking, the only thing Jack did now was grunt like a one animal type.

Jack began to forget things about his past, began to have nightmares and hallucinations, his mental health was getting worse every day, Seed Eater tried to help, but Jack needs the help of another human.

Jack stole an iPod from one of his victims, he always listens to music when he is stressed or going through a bad time, what it was always.

Jack now "worked" for Zalgo, because Jack was housing in a territory of Zalgo, so for him to keep living there, he would have to do some tasks for Zalgo.

After a while Jack met Toby, and the two tried to kill herself several times, many times Jack really didn't like Toby, especially for Toby being a proxy, Jack hated everything with Slenderman.

One day Zalgo decided to make a peace treaty with Slenderman for reasons no one knows, and designated Jack to be Toby's partner, Jack obviously hated that, because now he would have to spend all his time with Toby.

Jack and Toby beat each other a lot, they fought and ignored themselves most of the time, Jack stopped beating Toby after he realized that he would have to take care of Toby's injuries anyway, so he continues to retrieve and hurt Toby I would only give him more work.

Jack was almost asphyxiated by Toby as he was sleeping, they had had a fight again and Toby tried to kill him "accidentally".

After a while Jack started to get along with Toby, and he started to open more to Toby and started talking to him more, leading them to become closer and closer, it helped Jack to return to speak right.

Jack was upset with Toby for days, because on a day she was snowing, Toby touched a snowball in the face of Eyeless Jack, which made a lot of snow get into his orbits, Toby apologized a lot and did several things to Eyeless Jack to forgive him.

After Jack began to develop romantic feelings for Toby, he began to do almost everything Toby sent without even questioning, and Jack followed Toby anywhere as well.

Jack has many scars, some are from the ritual and the others are of self-mutilation, he stopped injuring himself a while later, but the scars are very visible.

Jack likes to touch Toby's body, he likes to feel his scars and skin, and he likes to mark him, he finds Toby's blood delicious.

Eyeless Jack has a butcher shop on his cabin, he doesn't like to put humans there, but when he gets out of control he puts them there.

If Jack loses control and if he spends a long time without eating, he turns into a total creature, just like his canonical version, he totally loses his human thoughts, he will attack anything near him.

My version of Jack is Mexican, he came from Mexico for the United States, he knows how to speak English very well.

He also doesn't like most creepypastas, he hates mainly people like Jeff, because Jeff makes Jack remember the people who hurt him and killed in the ritual.

More vessel biology headcanons?

Vessels are actually really, really good at burrowing. It’s probably how so many escaped the abyss after they got sealed. They got it from both parents, and the void. Which per my silly little brain, can old be contained in round glass.

Vessels all have one major flaw or imperfection the void couldn’t remove, THKs was either a desire for perfection or being able to make familial bonds.

Ghosts flaw is an endless well of willpower. They will never, ever, stop. They inherited from their mothers conceptual side, because their will is the slow burrowing of roots through stone and the deceptively gentle trickle of water on metal. Greenpath vessels was a sense of adventure/desire to explore. And the nosk vessels all had a sense of longing for companionship which led to their deaths.

The vessels also seem to have physical flaws too? Like structurally I mean. The prime example is THKs missing arm, in the pure vessel boss fight that same arm is what they use for the void tendrils attack and by the time we fight them in the egg it’s entirely rotted off. I think it honestly was never as strong or stable as the other arm and was bound to be lost eventually. Broken Vessels flaw would be their third horn(the one that’s broken off).

Vessels actually do still have some of their own light, you can see this in game actually—even without the lantern you give off a subtle glow. I think that some vessels actually retained some of the godly light and status they otherwise would have had, only a little though.

The above idea comes from my headcanon that Wyrms specifically are really resistant to void as far as gods go, because they always dig deep and far and in that sometimes burrow into pockets of void far below the surface. They need to be able to survive contact with it in the short term at least. This nature would explain how some vessels retain minute traces of light, and why the pale king was the one actually standing at the mouth of the abyss waiting for vessels.

in fact I wonder if any of the seeds/eggs dropped into the abyss hatched young Wyrms instead of vessels? Maybe they escaped or something? I don’t think this is likely but it’s a cool idea.

Void and water don’t mix, it’s like oil and water. That’s why we float in the blue lake.

The void itself might be the remnants of an ancient sea that covered the world beyond Hallownest before the age of bright gods. It would explain the trilobite creature we see in deepnest and the way the abyss and the rest of Hallownest appear to be made of fossilized shells. Plus if it’s the remnants of the sea then it could be something like a microbial mat that’s really toxic to life? Like maybe it’s a magic microbial soup? Magic microbial goop even. Vessels are goop.

Vessels are really really strong compared to other ways of containing things, like THK held the radiance for a long ass time. If a vessel tried to contain a weaker god they’d probably just be able to tbh. Like anything weaker than the nightmare heart if probably fair game for yoinking.

Vessels also sometimes inherit the hunger of Wyrms, and looking into their eyes gives the sensation of falling into the maw of some great beast. Godseaker did call Little Ghost a wielder of nail and eater of soul

Vessels are also really susceptible to outside influences, kinda like evee if they were Pokémon. This is how Ghost can use so many charms at once but also why said charms can change them so easily.

Theoretically a vessel raised by or containing a god could take on some of their traits-either by force or by accident.

Unrelatedly THK has a voice to cry out with…

I think radiance may have eventually tried turning them into something more like Grimm is for the heart, a body for her to use and a mind thoroughly broken to her will.

If they could eat, Vessels would have a truly remarkable number of tastebuds, because Wyrms will eat anything and I feel like the white lady has ways to “taste” the soil to see if it’s nutrient rich and has fertilizer.

Finally the horns of vessels are actually their “branches” and will keep growing indefinitely unless trimmed or broken periodically, this comes from both parents. Wyrms need to constantly replace burrowing teeth and Roots are beings of constant growth and pruning.

Thank you for the asks, it gave me a reason to try and think more about what I actually want from a post-book 7 story since I usually prefer to diverge from canon before book 7. I already talked a bit about the epilogue here, but this is more of a list of things I would like to see instead of reasons I don't like the existing one. There are going to be a lot of headcanons here, so be ready for that. I don't have something super thought out in terms of how it'll happen or who will be involved in everything in the long run. But I have a few bullet points about the epilogue itself and further in the future for the HP characters.

Like, for the epilogue itself, as I wrote in the past, I'd make it only a few months in the future, not years. What I'd put there is:

Showing a bit of the Golden Trio's friendship, and the three being hopeful about the future.

They are back at Hogwarts for 8th year and offhandedly mention Harry tried to go straight to Auror training and regretted leaving Hogwarts behind so quickly.

Ron was with Harry in Auror training and when Harry told him he was dropping out, Ron dropped out too. Kingsly assures them they could both return and continue the training from the point they dropped out after 8th year (Ron would return, Harry wouldn't).

They all get to worry about a future they weren't sure they'd have.

It's mentioned Neville is helping out Sprout and Harry is helping out the changing roaster of DADA teachers (since McGonagall decided to not really sign one on permanently to avoid the curse until it could be broken).

Some sections of Hogwarts are still a little worse for wear or were rebuilt completely after the battle and it shows.

Society is a little different. I want to see a Hogwarts where houses don't matter as much. Actually, start building the unity the sorting hat sang about. Show Harry has a few Slytherins he's friendly with. Show a pure-blood Slytherin be at least polite to Hermione — show the seeds of change.

Harry and Hermione are both mentioned going to the ministry for various meetings, and we get a hope that the ministry could be changed from within. That the system that let Voldemort and the Death Eaters take over so easily could be helped.

The epilogue won't show the actual changes or politics, just imply they are happening/or will happen. Many of the ex-DA members are primed for key positions in the ministry which would help this change to happen. Still, it would be slow, but now that there is no war, they have time. Like, the epilogue would mention people like Susan Bones getting a good position in the DMLE or something.

They reference rebuilding Diagon Alley and many places that were destroyed along with setting up a war monument and a separate monument for muggleborns.

Basically, I just want to end on a note of hope, of seeing a reason to work towards a future Harry finally had, you know?

But, that note of hope needs to have a bitter taste to it. I'd mention how this year, almost all the students could see the Thestrals leading the carriages to Hogwarts, an entire generation who gazed upon death.

Like, I don't care that much who Harry marries and what he names his kids, so I don't really mind not seeing that and leaving that to each reader to imagine their own future for him. If I were to rewrite the epilogue, that's what I'd do, I'd keep it vague.

As for other things I have in mind for Harry's future after the books, well, I think I mentioned some of them in the post I linked but I'll note down a few:

Harry becomes DADA professor and eventual deputy headmaster for McGonagall and Professor Potter doesn't let an abused kid go unnoticed. He's going to do something about it, for all houses.

Ron does still become an Auror, and I see him getting really good and valued there. I want Ron to become head of the DMLE instead of Harry.

I like to imagine Hermione becoming an Unspeakable actually, I think she'd enjoy it more than politics. Like, as much as she cares, she isn't very politically savvy. She is going to use Harry's Potter Wizengamot seat and war hero status (+ her own war hero status) to help him and other ex-DA members push for more creature rights and changes in the Wizarding World though.

Neville becomes a Herbology Professor and head of Gryffindor, and he and Harry become closer friends when they work together at Hogwarts.

Harry also breaks the DADA curse, either by figuring it out (he's very intuitive about magic and he knows how Tom thinks, so he could figure it out) or the curse recognizes him and just ceases. Even if Harry isn't a Horcrux anymore, I think carrying Tom's soul for so long had a lasting effect, so he just might get a pass. I think Luna continues editing the Quibbler with her father, as well, and after the war, it becomes a real competition for the Prophet. She still becomes a Magizoologist in my headcanon.

Harry would eventually become Hogwarts headmaster, I think, in my version of events. Obviously, this would be way later, but I really see it happening. I'm hoping in his time as headmaster he'll finally fire Binns and get an actual history teacher into this school.

As for shipping, in my ultimate vision, Harry and Theo get together either during 8th year or by meeting in the ministry, maybe in Wizengamot warlock conventions (since Theo's father was a Death Eater and is either dead or in Azkaban, it'll be Theo there). I believe Theo wasn't actually in Britain during book 7 and the war and that's how he got out of being a Death Eater. He wasn't mentioned among the Slytherins that were in Hogwarts, so it's possible. I disagree with everything Cursed Child did to my boy Theo Nott except him being an Unspeakable since I can see that happening. His and Hermione's work dynamic in the DOM could be really fun, I think and it might be how he and Harry start talking.

For everyone else, I'm honestly less picky. I'm fine with Ron and Hermione together at the end, but I'd also be fine if they won't be, so 🤷‍♀️

Elven cuisine Headcanons

High Elves:

Haute Cuisine, but make it 🍁𝓬𝓸𝓽𝓽𝓪𝓰𝓮𝓬𝓸𝓻𝓮🍁

...at least, that's how a lot of humans would describe it, for lack of better words.

Pretty-looking dishes that are served in small proportions. Anyone who is still hungry after a 'normal' ration can repeat: High elf families who invite people of other races for brunch tend to already be used to their guests asking for refills.

Mainly vegetarian: Lots of leaves, fruits, roots, seeds, flowers and even bark from edible trees, as well as fungi. If a plant is edible and can be harvested without risk, it will be in the menu.

That is not to say that high elves don't eat meat, though their idea of what's game and what's not can be very culturally different from another race or even another clan: Some high elves might abstain from eating deer or elk because they are seen as sacred in their clan, while some humans might find the idea of froghemoth terrine "disgusting".

Wood Elves:

Cuisine is a reflection of someone's culture, and with wood elves said culture is one of respect for nature. Veggies tend to be foraged rather than grown in a farm.

"Agriculture" and "wood elf" are words that are very rarely in the same sentence, and their food reflects that. Their traditional bread and other baked goods use wild grain instead of wheat.

When meat is consumed, it is based on whatever animals are necessarily hunted, and when that happens, no part of the animal is wasted: Offal and organ meat is cooked and eaten in a variety of ways, and bones are used for stock. If you are gonna eat an animal, then honor its sacrifice by using it all.

Wood elven dishes are the polar opposite of high elves': Little thought is given to a meal's visual presentation, what's important is to make it hearty and delicious.

Dark Elves:

Drow cuisine is one that was very much shaped by the Underdark and what few things are edible and easily harvested in such a hard place.

Mushrooms and edible fungi in general are prevalent: Mushroom stew, mushroom pie, mushroom bread, even mushroom wine! (That last one is canon!)

Some Underdark monsters are hunted for their meat. The Cave Fisher and the Darkmantle in particular are considered delicacies.

"Spider eater" is a derogatory slur sometimes used against dark elves. In truth, Lolth-sworn dark elves see eating spiders or killing spiders in general as highly blasphemous. It is the surface-born Seldarine drow population the ones to actually partake in the consumption of spider meat, and that's something they only started doing precisely to give Lolth the middle finger and then continued doing because, as it turns out, it is a good protein source that doesn't actually taste bad at all, thank you very much.

Surface drow cuisine is marked by a cultural need to replicate the flavors found in Underdark as best as possible using what's available to them. Expect a lot of spices, algae, shellfish, some bugs and, yes, lots and lots of mushrooms.

Draco in Leather Pants, Ron the Death Eater and Greek Mythology

I've never seen anyone adressing these two tropes when talking about Greek Mythology, so I'm going to be the first person who does that.

Draco in Leather Pants and Ron the Death Eater are two fictional tropes that are present in a LOT of pieces of Media, and gained their official names back when the Harry Potter series was ridiculously popular and JKR still hasn't revealed her real persona. While you probably don't know them by their names, once I'll give you the explanation behind them you'll figure out quickly what I'm refferring to.

Draco in Leather Pants is when a character who either made controversial/questionable choices or is straight-up pure evil gains a lot of fame and simpathy from the public for one reason or another (which usually happens to be either physical appearance, certain personality traits or a sad background story), which ultimately leads to the downplaying of their actions and their romanticization, to the point where the character becomes an object of desire, or an innocent woobie who did nothing wrong.

Ron the Death Eater, on the other hands, represents the other side of the same coin; a character is depicted as more morally flawed or completely demonized. This character is usually a good or a morally grey one, but cases of villains being portrayed as more evil by the fandom compared to their canon version exist too.

So now that we're familiar with these tropes I'm going to write a list with figures from Greek Mythology who most oftenly fall into these Tropes.

Pretty Much Any Major God: Draco in Leather Pants + Ron the Death Eater

Almost all deities from the Pantheon tend to be either romanticized and idealized by their fans and have their flaws excused/erased, or demonized and turned into complete monsters due to their less admirable actions. (save for Hestia, she did nothing wrong). However, I will choose to focus only on two of them, since they received either one of these treatments throughout the years the most.

Demeter: Ron the Death Eater

Demeter is usually presented as a nice person (when not provoked), being depicted either as a caring mother or a helping figure in many myths, a good example being that one scene from the myth of Eros and Psyche where she comforts Psyche. However, nowdays a lot of people know her purely based on that one time when she caused a global famine on earth due to the grief of losing her own daughter. And the ridiculous amount of people who idealize the relationship between Hades and Persephone along with the significant amount of retellings based on this myth slowly led to the demonization of Demeter and the modelling of her character into an abusive, toxic mother who infantilizes her daughter and did nothing more but "threw a tantrum" when she was gone.

Hades: Draco in Leather Pants

The unnecessary satanization of Hades by the Christian Hollywood made a lot of people grow fond of him and perceive him as a severe but just ruler, who does his job and only cares about loving his wife and playing with his dog Spot. However, the overexaggeration of his qualities, both canon and headcanon, led in time to an aggressive romanticization of the god, to the point where we have people claiming that in some versions of the myth of Hades and Persephone there was no kidnapping and she willingly went with him, or that Hades never cheated on his wife. Pretty much every surviving written work of this myth emphasizes the fact that it was an abduction, and in Homeric Hymns to Demeter, the oldest and most complete version of that we have found, it is clearly stated that a) Persephone felt miserable in the Underworld, b) she missed her mother and c) Hades didn't trick her to eat those pomegranate seeds, but forced her to do that: "...but he, stealthily, put into my hand the berry of the pomegranate, that honey-sweet food, and he compelled me by biâ to eat of it."

On the 'never cheated on his wife' part, Minthe exists and she was his mistress. Literally the only source that I've found where this myth is presented in a different light is one where she was his ex-lover who got angry after finding out that he got married and boasted about how she's more beautiful than Persephone and Hades will soon get tired of her and make her his queen in her place. Demeter did not find it funny. But we cannot have Demeter being a supportive mom and protecting her daughter's dignity by turning that homewreker into a plant, because everybody knows that she has to be a Helicopter Parent and Hades' Nr.1 Nightmare.

Medusa: Draco in Leather Pants

Despite the fact that in the oldest version of her myth Medusa was said to be always a gorgon and had consentual sex with Poseidon (Hesiod's Theogony), the popularity of Ovid's version led to a lot of misinformation, misconceptions and headcanons spread as facts surrounding Medusa (ex: Medusa was Athena's priestess, Athena blessed Medusa, Perseus killed Medusa for glory etc.) leading to the overexaggeration of her background story and her portrayal as the ultimate tragic character from Greek Mythology, despite the fact that there are a lot of female figures (Alcmene, Callisto, Leto, Metis, Aura etc.) who went through worse than her.

Perseus: Ron the Death Eater

The romanticization of Medusa led in time to the demonization of Perseus as well, due to the fact that he killed her. What people usually don't remember though is that the myth of Perseus killing Medusa was much older than the roman addition of Medusa's background story, or that Athena herself helped Perseus to behead her. On top of that it should be also noted the fact that Perseus didn't kill her for wealth or glory, but because Polydectes asked him to bring the head of Medusa as a wedding gift in the hope that he would eventually die so that he could marry his mother. After Perseus saved his mother via petrifying her assaulter he didn't take the throne for himself, but gave it to the fisherman who helped him and his mom instead.

Achilles: Draco in Leather Pants

Achilles is generally presented in a heroic/sympathetic light both in movies and by Greek Mythology Enthusiasts, and the homoerotic undertones his relationship with Patroclus has led in time to his perception as a queer icon. What his stans tend to ignore though is the numerous amount of people he killed, including Briseis' family, a girl whom he took as a sex slave during the Trojan War.

Hector: Draco in Leather Pants

Despite of being an arguably better person than Achilles, Hector also commited a considerable amount of foolish acts due to his overconfidence, the cruelest one being trying to decapitate Patroclus' corpse.

Paris: Draco in Leather Pants

Paris was already married with Oenone before the Trojan War started, yet he willingly abandoned her just to have the most beautiful woman from Sparta as his wife. Later, he proved himself to be a coward willing to let thousands of people die just to keep Helen. Nowdays, he's usually presented as a tragic romantic hero who lost the love of his life.

Helen of Sparta: Ron the Death Eater

Helen is believed to be the woman who caused the Trojan War just to be with Paris, when in reality she was rather a victim of her own circumstances. People also tend to forget the fact that Aphrodite threatened her to have sex with Paris, or that she was perceived as a prize by almost all people around her due to her beauty. Thanks to Hollywood she is nowdays one of the most bastartized figures from Greek Mythology.

Menelaus: Ron the Death Eater

While he has done a lot of hardly honorable actions, Menelaus is presented in a lot of sources as a loving husband and father. Nowdays he is depicted as an abusive man, sometimes even worse than Agamemnon, just so that Paris and Helen could be the greatest love tragedy that makes the Titanic drown.

Cronus: Ron the Death Eater

A lot of people, both with a surfface-level of knowledge in Greek Mythology and Greek Mythology Enthusiasts, have a tendency of villainizing Cronus due to the fact that he's infamously known for a) throwing the Cyclops and Hecatoncheires into Tartarus after having his father's testicles tortioned and b) eating his own children in order to prevent that one fate (Spoiler Alert: It didn't work!). What many people don't know or either forget about him is that he ruled during what was called the Golden Age of humanity, and the ancient sources imply the fact that humans had it better back when he was the king before being overthrown by of Zeus. So while he was indeed cruel and malevolent, reducing him to a 2D cartoonish villain without any sort of complexity is far from his character as well.

Ovid: Ron the Death Eater

Ovid made a lot of interesting changes to a lot of already existing myths, giving more nuance or different perspectives to some of them (Ex: Demeter had a long-term relationship with Iasion until he died of old age), and a lot of stories beloved by many were written by him (Ex: Cadmus and the Dragon). Nowdays he is known as that one poet who had beef with the Emperor and is unnecessarily hated due to that one Medusa addition. Because it's much easier to put the blame solely on a dead guy than the contemporary people who write all those Medusa retellings and spread the Medusa Feminist Agenda further.
