weird things I did in my childhood that makes me (and my family) believe I am some eldritch being.
number one!
ever since I can remember I've had visual snow syndrome (vss) and I've had three eye doctors and two specialist diagnose me with it. but a strange symptom I have from it isn't exactly normal, I thought it was until I guess last year?
but if I'm in a dark room I see black slimy shadows pour from the corners. if there is absolutely no light then they get closer and closer until they're writhing in front of my nose and my vision fades to nothing but pixels and swirling mass.
haha fun yep.
so you can just IMAGINE tiny 5 year old me waddling up to mother dearest going, "can you keep the light on, I don't want to see the specks," since that's what I called them. my mother assumed (and dearly hoped) what I was referring to were merely floaties on my sclera. so for about 9 years after I referred to them as floaties. but no they were certainly not that.
I could always see shrouds and weird little things buzz around or fly by. (docs think it's from some head trauma when I was a kiddo! so FYI I'm not clairvoyent or anything lol) but wouldn't it be just lovely for a lil tot to look at you deadpan, missing their two front teeth and go, "there's a shadow person behind you." ever so matter of factly.
yes I have terrorized my family my whole life thank you very much. poor sods.

FLOHIO is back with new track ‘Whiplash’, marking her first new solo release of the year and sees her reunite with producers God Colony. Listen below.
There's no question that women have been making some of the biggest waves in rap music lately, and The Savagez are no exception. Two young Southern Belles who now reside in Los Angeles, Kellye “Kell” Hardy and Jessica “Jet Dope” Thomas have created a chemistry together that is unmatched. Now, they’re dropping their newest video (soon to be the newest TikTok trend) full of twerking, motorcycles, cash, and all the ‘RICH B*TCH SH*T’ they’re known for. In this latest video, The Savagez definitely deliver, proclaiming, “Call the plug, I’ma have him drop the bricks off. Get it up, I can't work it when it's this soft. Yellow diamonds in the Rollie like it's pissed off, when I call him on his phone he drop his b*tch off…” [via Flaunt]
youtube
Santo Domingo-born, US-based rapper Esteisy delivers an unapologetic and fearless jam titled ‘Freak,’ which is exactly what the title says. The bilingual rapper's latest doesn't mince words for anyone, confidently encouraging women to embody their freaky and wild side. Bolstered by the vibrant, bass-heavy trap backdrop crafted by Lil Rod, Esteisy brings an interesting element to the forefront. From her high-pitched vocals, energetic flow, and seamless language switch, she delivers a catchy and somewhat addictive tune that guarantees a whole lot of rear shaking in the clubs. The video was directed and styled by Otheezy Burnside who help bring Esteisy's vision to life. It displays confident and fearless women of different backgrounds who flaunt their bodies with much gusto alongside seamless performance shots of the rapper as she brings her sultry and seductive aura to the screen. Bronx emcee Remy Ma has decided to bless the masses with a new single titled ‘GodMother,’ a Cool & Dre and 808-Ray-produced effort that keeps with the aggressive and boastful subject matter that Remy is known for. [via Revolt]
Tomorrow, Arkansas rapper-producer Kari Faux is releasing the deluxe version of her 2020 album Lowkey Superstar. She’s already shared the new song ‘Too Much, Too Fast,’ which is one of the four new tracks from the extended version. Lowkey Superstar Deluxe will hold three more new songs and three remixes with features from J.I.D, Smino, Yung Baby Tate, Deante’ Hitchcock, and Jazz Cartier. Today, Faux has shared a video for the song ‘Chattin’ Shit.’ In the video, co-directed with Brennan Pierre, Faux rides around in a spicy red sports car. Elsewhere she’s rapping while lo-fi, pixelated effects overwhelm the background. Childlike animation keeps the video in constant motion even when still images of Faux flash on the screen. Amidst the ever-changing atmosphere Kari Faux is calm, cool, and collected. It’s a fun and fitting visual for the somewhat voyeuristic track. “‘Chattin’ Shit’ is about people who watch and admire from afar but never actually show love,” she said in a statement about the song. Back in action with the ultimate best-friend anthem, Platinum superstar Coi Leray serves up a new single entitled ‘TWINNEM’. Sharing just a snippet on TikTok, its sound has already inspired a staggering 300,000+ fan videos thus far. Now, the final recording pops up off as the perfect banger for besties to share. Coi’s fiery flows practically singe the beat before she delivers an unshakable hook. In the video, she gets dapper with her crew as she declares “that loyalty everything.”

Anesu has released their second single ‘Crown.’ ‘Crown’ is another moment of artistic and meaningful glory for Anesu, with a blaring production sitting nicely amongst a dreamy, more R&B-aligned hook and Anesu's darting verses, which navigate the boldness of the single's production with their sense of driving empowerment. The end result is this defining celebration of Bla(c)k existence, one full of catharticism and celebration at its core. "In light of all the hectic stuff going on in the world right now, my song ‘Crown’ is a tribute to Bla(c)k existence & how just expressing joy is activism in itself," Anesu says on the single. "I wrote this song earlier this year, three hours before a gig one night and really just wanted to get off everything that was on my chest at the time. I hope that yall feel it too and catch vibe while doing so." ‘Crown’ arrives accompanied by a video directed by Bernice Jiang and Anesu themselves, which further celebrates Bla(c)kness through a visual means, doubling down on the single's potent lyricism. BXKS, who hails from Northampton via Luton, has given us the video for her latest offering, ‘Mean Amount’. Linking up with producer Finn Wigan, BXKS creates a fun vibe on ‘Mean Amount’ by coming through with a catchy flow to outline her dreams and ambitions which involve breaking the bank. Shot in her local area just outside of Luton, the visuals show BXKS in good spirits on the streets as she details her plans to better her life. [via GRM Daily]

hate or love? | lee donghyuck
Tumblr media
You awake with a start, blurry vision slowly swimming into focus. You stare at the mass of sky blue around you and almost fall right out of the bed. Since when were your bedroom walls blue? Then you look down at the bed beneath you and gasp aloud, because it isn’t yours either.
That’s also when you realize an arm around your waist holding you in place, and you whip around to see the sleeping face of the bane of your existence, Lee Donghyuck.
You would have screamed, if not for the searing headache that tears through your skull right at that exact moment, threatening to rip it apart. You let out a moan of agony and shift uncomfortably beneath the deadweight of Donghyuck’s arm.
“You shouldn’t have drunk so much last night,” a husky voice slurs in your ear, and in spite of yourself, you feel chills running down your spine.
“Shut up,” you recollect your senses and hiss, latching your hand onto his arm to detach it from your waist, filled with regret at agreeing to come to his stupid party with Mark last night. But Donghyuck refuses to remove himself from you and even has the nerve to pull your body closer to his. Your body goes rigid in his arms.
“Don’t leave,” he murmurs softly, lips grazing the shell of your ear. The usual acerbic bite is gone from his voice, replaced with a pleading tenderness and a quiver of uncertainty that makes you forget your resolve to hate him, just for a little bit.
“Why?” You venture to ask, wanting but fearing his answer.
“You shouldn’t move too much yet; you’re hungover. You’ll get nowhere with that headache and you know it. Don’t want you fainting in my house.” It’s bullshit and you both know it, a diversion from his true feelings beneath that mask of cavalier.
You don’t say anything for a moment, your fogged-up brain trying to register the feel of his strong arm draped across your stomach, the back of your head resting against his chest. So close to his heart you swear you can hear the steady rhythm of its beating.
You’d never admit that you don’t ever want to leave the warm embrace of the boy you hate so much.
“Fine. But after this we’re going right back to hating each other’s guts, and don’t you dare bring this up ever again.
You can feel him stiffen behind you, just for a fraction of a second, but his hold on you doesn’t loosen. If anything, he pulls you impossibly closer.
And then he gently snuggles his face into the crook of your neck, as though trying to breathe as much of you in as possible before having to let you go.
“Of course,” Donghyuck whispers against your skin.
It’s hard to miss the hurt in his voice.

SO! A week or two ago I got the DVDs for both seasons of "Justice League: The Animated Series", which I hadn't seen in ten years and remembered loving a lot. Spoiler: I still love it a lot. I put off watching it for a while because I was scared I wouldn't, but then I watched it pretty much straight through without even stopping to liveblog.
So. THOUGHTS! ^_^ Any of y'all who've ever shared a fandom with me know I'm always around for one particular character. In this case, that's J'onn J'onzz, the big green guy, whose official comics codename (sensibly not used on the show) is Martian Manhunter.
(There's a bit in one of the tie-in comics where a parent is telling their kid "don't be scared, honey, he won't hurt you, that's the uhh... Martian Maneater..." which has never ceased to amuse me.)
Anyway, we all know I have a tendency to give reviews in the vein of "Good story but no werewolves", and it must be granted that I never did bother watching Justice League Unlimited because Carl Lumbly (J'onn's voice actor, Minnesota born and raised with Jamaican parents, which is apparently how you get a Martian accent I couldn't place to anywhere on Earth) wasn't a regular anymore. But y'know, it's a really good ensemble team too, even if I like Tim Daly's Superman (from Superman: The Animated Series in the same animated universe) a lot better than George Newbern's. Or, well, I did. I haven't heard *him* in ten years either. Anyway! Off topic.
SO ANYWAY. Obviously, spoilers hereabouts, although it's what, fifteen, twenty years old by now? But if you care about spoilers for somewhat elderly TV, you might not be following me anyhow.
So the meta premise, just in case anybody was unfamiliar, is thuswise: First there was Batman: The Animated Series, in which Mark Hamill was the best Joker while not being an asshole as a person, because he is a competent actor and not a dickwad. Then there was Superman: The Animated Series, which I remember as being a delight and I want to watch it again too someday. Then, because apparently if you have Batman and Superman the next step is the entire Justice League, there was this.
The actual premise is, that during an alien invasion of Earth, Superman and Batman rescue a prisoner, J'onn J'onzz, the last survivor of the Martian society the invader aliens wiped out. (J'onn and Clark get little bits of bonding over the last-of-their-kinds thing but I've always wanted more. In a fandom auction I once donated $60 for a fic on the topic, but life happened and I do not hold it against the person. Still a little sad though. It's not something I've ever quite been able to write myself.) J'onn has a whole grab-bag of superpowers including telepathy, with which he summons additional heroes The Flash (speedster, this one is twentyish goofball Wally West), Green Lantern (specifically John Stewart, a black ex-Marine), Wonder Woman, and Hawkgirl (a winged humanoid-alien woman with an energy mace). Together, they fight crime! Mostly.
Specific episodes: I'm going to use "episode" to refer to the runtime covered by a single title so I don't have to say "two-parter" or "three-parter" every single time, because this show had literally only one single-part episode out of the whole 52 episodes.
* Secret Origins, three-parter: In which the Justice League is formed and repels the invasion of Earth by the aliens who wiped out J'onn's people. A very strong start, good character intros. I will never be over the very small worldbuilding fact that J'onn is rescued by Superman and Batman, and has seen nobody else on Earth yet but invader aliens (these are what used to be called the White Martians but the show does not use this name either which I think was a wise choice), so when he shapeshifts from his more alien "natural" Martian form to the look which will be his default for the series, he chooses a briefs-and-cape look because based on the two examples he's seeing, that's what Earth people wear. It's not explicitly called out, but it's a great way to make it a little less... comic-booky that you have no less than three extra-beefy guys with almost identical costume silhouettes here.
I think the arc between Batman and J'onn is one of my favorite parts of this, the way Batman starts out being like "I still don't trust him" and winds up trusting him enough that it's their teamwork which saves the world this go-round. Also, speaking as a fan who likes me some whump, can we talk about the scene where J'onn is being mindprobed with all those tentacles under his skin? I have so fucking many feels about that scene, okay. God, that whole climactic sequence is so damn good. And his tiny lil smile at the end of the last episode! I do love me some microexpressions, nonetheless that they are animated. (I can't draw so I am constantly boggled by just the skill it has to take to draw a character so on-model that varying one line by a few pixels Says Things.)
* In Blackest Night, two-parter: The one where the extremely Kirby-designed cop robots frame Green Lantern into believing he blew up an inhabited planet. Introduces several alien members of the Green Lantern Corps. Flash trying and failing to act as GL's lawyer is fairly embarrassment-squicky to me; many of the things anybody does with Flash on this show are fairly embarrassment-squicky, although he does get some great moments. René Auberjonois does two voices, as a spherical Green Lantern and as the "witness" who helps frame GL. The climactic scene is great -- sometimes the Green Lantern ditty just doesn't work, but between the sound design and the animation and Phil Lamarr's voice acting, this scene blows me away every time. I feel like this one could have been shorter though.
* The Enemy Below, two-parter: In which (blond) Aquaman guest-stars, J'onn takes on the first of many roles where he acts as bait by impersonating a villain's target, and the thing where Aquaman cuts off his own hand to escape a manacle is very tastefully handled for a kids' show. I probably would have found that scene way too suspenseful and traumatic as a kid but I was an extremely sensitive small child. Opinions on this episode: I don't really have many. This universe's Aquaman is a *dick* who appears to live by the rule that you must always fight a superhero when you meet one on the street before explaining your business. I always squee when somebody turns out to be J'onn, because I've usually forgotten. (He usually is people and not animals or, like Odo more than once, a bag. I wonder if he has some conservation of mass thing going on or if it's just easier to animate when you keep your same basic arrangement of limbs.)
* Injustice for All, two-parter: Lex Luthor, dying of kryptonite poisoning, puts together the Injustice Gang to try to destroy the Justice League. He didn't invite the Joker, but Hulk expy and heavy hitter Solomon Grundy is also voiced by Mark Hamill, so the Joker naturally turns up around the point where Luthor captures Batman, commentating on Luthor's misguidedness in keeping Bats alive and generally providing a running peanut gallery. Clancy Brown and Mark Hamill are both always fun, so this one is pretty entertaining.
* Paradise Lost: Wonder Woman backstory-ish episode. A sorcerer turns the other Amazons to stone, then blackmails Diana into stealing four artifacts for him, which he assembles into a key to free the god Hades from Tartarus. Notable mainly for the extreme mangling of Greek mythic cosmology into an aggressively Christian shape. Not good. It does have J'onn and Flash teamed for a bit, which is interesting, and J'onn gets to one-punch a giant magic brass cobra, but that's about all there is to speak for it. It looks like the writer also did my very least favorite two-parter of the whole series, unless this is some sort of Alan Smithee situation, because the name is Joseph Kuhr and I have a half-memory I can't catch that there is *something* more than coincidence in the whole, you know. "Joe-Kuhr" thing?
* War World: Apparently this one was pretty nearly universally hated. I do not hate it, because the concept "Superman and J'onn are accidentally blown across the galaxy together and sold to an alien gladiatorial arena" is something I am 110% down for, but I wanted a lot more interaction between them and possibly a lot more fic. I can't decide if I actually want to ship them, but they're obviously very close and I want to see more than snippets of that, dammit.
That's halfway through season one. Imma go sleep. more later.

Hey! I see you have good story telling recs for like video games and stuff and I just got a ps4, is there anything you recommend? I have wolf among us and Detroit become human on my list THATS all I have so far
omg girl u have come to the RIGHT place ! story-based games are my shit ok... im gonna start by doing a lil self-plug which is that i’m streaming one i really love called firewatch tonight (at 7pm PST hehe) on my twitch so we can start with that one. its such a pretty game and has a really touching story. but that aside, non-exhaustive list below:
the last of us — i havent played the second one yet, but both 1&2 are playstation exclusive i believe and the first one is probably one of the greatest games ever made. better than most movies i’ve watched story-wise; i fell in love with the characters and i doubt anyone could play this without shedding a few tears.
the walking dead by telltale — same studio that made the wolf among us (which i fucking love also), and all four seasons of this game are a masterpiece. clementine is probably my all time favorite video game character, and there were some side characters who i really sobbed over during the course of the game. plus all the characters you play as are characters of color so there’s a specific attention to diverse viewpoints there!
life is strange — i would hope you’d have played this already if you like story games, but if not, go play the original game ASAP (LiS2 is alright, but the first one is what really shines) and you can also play the prequel before the storm. beautiful atmosphere, attention to detail, gameplay mechanics, etc. good good shit
dragon age — HELLO my fave shit omg, again not to self-plug but i’m gonna be doing a stream series of this and starting with an intro to the lore for beginners because there is serious worldbuilding for these games and the storylines are immaculate. there’s three so far and including the various DLC you will be entertained for weeks if not months.
mass effect — made by the same studio as dragon age, essentially it’s dragon age in space. same great characters, worldbuilding, plotlines, etc. just... ignore andromeda and only play the main three ME games.
uncharted — i will fucking die for naughty dog games omg so they also made the last of us plus all 4 uncharted games and these ones are SO much fun. much less emotional turmoil, think indiana jones in the present day with an extra serving of wisecracking banter and there you go. really excellent fully fleshed out female characters as well. nathan drake is a treasure.
until dawn — more of a horror game but has weirdly excellent actors (hello rami malek???) and a super cool/creepy story with not so much focus on combat (more QTE based) which helps when you’re just there to be entertained. i love this game, i’m not a huge horror person myself but it’s just so good and your choices really impact the outcome.
oxenfree — deeply underrated game with some of my favorite voice acting ever, such a gorgeous art style, and an incredible and resonant story. so much lore to unpack here too, this game was really made with so much love (like there is deadass a morse code message hidden in the beat of the main song that leads to an irl mystery... google that shit its so cool) and it has major replay value. lots of choices to make and they all impact the ending in a ton of ways.
pillars of eternity — i actually liked the second one more than the first one and i enjoyed them both a lot so that’s saying something! you can play on easy mode and ignore the fighting and there’s tons of quests and choices to make and an interesting story/mystery to uncover. plus in the second one you get a pirate ship.
divinity original sin 2 — played this recently and it’s definitely more of a combat game, but as with POE you can just play on the easiest setting lol and then explore the game for its world and storyline. similar to POE in that it’s quest-based as well, the characters are super well done, and it’s all voice-acted which is nice.
star wars knights of the old republic (aka KOTOR) — listen this game is old as hell and looks like ass but its so good. idk what else to say i mean its literally like 20 years old and people are still playing it. there’s a ton of mods you can download to make it look better, but the storyline and the plot twist hold up as one of the all time greats. i’ve replayed it and the sequel multiple times. even if you don’t like star wars, worth it.
stardew valley — HELLO THIS GAME IS SO CUTE its essentially just harvest moon and yes it’s pixel graphics but it’s so charming and the characters are very enchanting. there’s not a ton of story but it’s still worth a play as it’s just very soothing and earnest. i’ve logged like 200+ hours in this game lmao
hopefully you haven’t heard of all of these already!! i love all of these games and i love sharing story-based recs because there aren’t a lot of them out there. if anyone knows of any other good ones please drop ur thoughts in the replies!

I've been thinking of so much more for my Lazybug AU but stress at work and my contused hand made it impossible to write anything down or try to draw any more
So, to give you at least a little content you didn't ask for while my hand only hurts a little:
I present to you
The different fighting styles of each Miraculous Holder
Lil explanation: though it's never directly stated in Miraculous Ladybug canon i see it ad heavily implied that, when a Kwami powers up a human, they somewhat fuse. Not like the fusion Ha dance. But a human will display not only physical but character traits from the Kwami of their Miraculous. They're still clearly the same person! Just with a few tweaks to their priorities most of the time. So yes, pointing this out so clearly brings this close to theory or headcanon territory but shhh it's my au, i make the rules
Trixie as Lucky Bug
Lucky Bug has a strong instinct to fight, there are only very few things that could stop her from heading into battle.
Trixie is always set for confrontation and Tikki has the unwavering urge to always do whatever is possible to help. The combination of these two working together as one gives Lucky Bug her strength to take on everything that stands in her way.
When in battle She will make sure to keep her opponents attention fully on herself. She holds the strong belief that while she bears the brunt of attacks she can make sure nobody else gets hurt and that's how she fights. Thanks to the weapon her Miraculous grants her she can exceed in close combat as well as having quite ranged attacks. The lather she will mostly use to pull someone's attention away from others if necessary. Closer ranged combat is definitely her preference though. Here she can use her magical yo-yo like a morningstar and really hammer down in fight. A yo-yo with endlessly extendable cord is incredibly versatile and Lucky Bug is smart enough to always find new ways to mobilize this weapon but good old brute force shouldn't be underrated.
Stephanie as Pitch Serval
Pitch Serval always has an urge to move and that definitely includes battle. Once she gets going there is nothing that'll get her standing still again.
Stephanie will literally jump at any opportunity to start moving and help others, Plagg has deep confidence in his abilities and will let everyone know. In combination that makes Pitch Serval a little bit of a show off. While well able to quietly observe a situation, once she gets into action she will not stop until the job is done.
Watching Pitch Serval fight looks more like watching a professional dancer who just so happens to beat people up while performing. The extendable pole she got as a weapon seems almost to become part of her body. In fluid motions she is capable of a variety of attacks that are both unpredictable without the music only she must hear and so natural that it becomes mesmerizing to watch. Whether she actually fights with the pole for proper hits or uses it to propel herself around, it will be effective and beautiful.
Sportacus as Álfurildi
Álfurildi is not a fan of fighting in a confrontational sense, however, practiced as a sport he finds great enjoyment in it. To him the only reason to actually fight is to protect others.
Sportacus was already a locally famous hero before receiving a Miraculous and brings all the best qualities this encompasses to the table. Nooroo however is a hurt soul, as a surviver of horrible abuse by a past master it took him a long time to extend enough trust to willingly give his powers to someone else again. The combination of these two makes Álfurildi appear a lot more calm or even reserved compared to the Sportacus we all know and love. It makes him worry more and more careful but he's still very energetic, confident and capable in basically anything he tries.
This of cause reflects in his style of battle. Until he's made sure his opponent cannot be swayed without it he won't go in for an attack so most of his battles he spends dodging his opponents attacks while making sure to stay close enough to keep tge encounter from breaking off. He encompasses the phrase "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee" as watching him avoid the incoming attacks looks almost supernatural at times, like gravity just doesn't apply to him the same way it does to others. His in depth mastery of most sports in existence surely help with that. Once he switches lanes to actually attacking himself he will use the cane that is his assigned weapon almost exclusively like a bat or racket or other similar sport equipment. You surely can image the punch that packs.
Robbie as Bullock
Bullock is not one to start a fight but he sure is great at ending them, by winning obviously.
Robbie has efficiency, wit and persistence on his side. Stompp, caring and deterninted, speaks his mind without hesitation. These two together give Bullock a reserved and stubborn appearance but when fending for what is right those are strong attributes to have.
Bullock operates best when following a plan so he will mostly be seen as a detached observer which can be accurately described as the calm before the storm. The phrase "mess with the bull, you get the horns" might as well have been coined just to describe him. Once he starts fighting he is quite literally going to bulldoze his opponent. With the ease from a Kwami's powers elaborate movements require no effort anymore do the usually so lazy man can now go all out, but old habits die hard so he aims to be done fighting as quickly as possible. This results in his attacks coming in rapid fire blasts of assaults. Using his armored fists and legs for precise hits, the chain of his tail like a whip and even his horns make him an overwhelming opponent in close combat. At distance, any distance, his miraculous granted weapon, his darts, never miss a target he locked on to and can only be removed by him so no fight will stay at distance for long.
Pixel as Spectra
Spectra needs a good overview of the ongoing battle to unleash the modt effective Amok but that surely doesn't stop him from getting physically involved once the chance arises.
Pixel follows his strong intuition and always has a quick and effective solution to help others out, Duusu is straight forward about everything and easily get enthusiastic. With this passionate combination Spectra often jumps into battle with his friends despite that not being the most logical step. His powers and costume lend themselves a lot easier to defensive fighting, more blocking, enduring, studying and only then striking. Thanks to his extensive theoretical knowledge from video games he knows an expansive array of moves only someone fighting with a fan as their weapon can use so once he gets his chance to actually fight he is far more effective than he would expect from himself.
Jives as Grinder Turtle
Grinder Turtle is really not much of a fighter. But there will never be anything in his way when he has someone to protect.
Jives is a very calm guy, the human embodiment of the gentle giant trope. Wayzz has persistence, patience and a deep respect for everybody. This combination makes Grinder Turtle incredibly passive in battle. He will use his shield only to push people away, which works great because as someone who is much taller than almost everyone he always has the high ground; but for the most part he finds his spot in the back of the team to set up his Shell-ter for them and be content holding up a safe space for everyone.
This style of fighting unfortunately takes a lot of energy out of him, leading to him quickly losing the turtle miraculous to Stingy.
Jives as High Duke
High Duke finds his flow in fighting. Here he can let lose and push himself to his limits.
Again, Jives is calm and unshakable, always too passive to not get along eith everybody. Now, Xuppu playful and mischievous, holding enjoyment to high value. Their combination makes High Duke a force to be reckoned with. They fuse in perfect addition to each other, making him a well confident, experimental fighter who does exactly what feels right in the moment. His wish to protect everyone around him, now fueled with confidence from a new perspective, allows him to move swiftly during battles like he never did anything else.
Thanks to the flexibility this transformation gifts him with he doesn't just stand back and wait anymore, he jumps head first into the fight. His favorite ways of attack is to duck down all the way to the ground and use his weapon, his staff, or the rope he has as a tail to trip his opponents, and to use the dtaff as leverage to jumo high in the air and strike from up above with great force.
Stingy as Vault
Vault is a presence that demands attention, with powerful attacks to back it up he is a heavy hitter even though he isn't so prone to charge to front line.
Stingy's determination and confidence elevate his sharp focus even more while Wayzz is anchored, calm and has a great sense of duty. The combination they create gives Vault a presence of security everyone can feel. He is strong and unwavering in what he does and knows it full well.
There is a weight in his stance like nothing can make him falter, even when not creating a Shell-ter around himself he is undeniable at the center of something powerful. With this mass of confidence he doesn't just hold on to his shield to push intruders back but it also becomes a projectile weapon to knock opponents out from afar. Though he isn't as animated as others on the team each move he makes carries weight and purpose everyone can see.
Ziggy as Mouse the Mighty
Mouse the Mighty looks harmless compared to what he is capable of. He will fight with all he has for what he believes in.
Ziggy is a simple guy, excited by the best qualities of a hero and deterninted to work as hard as possible to achieve whatever goal he has. Mullo has an optimistic approach to everything and shies away from no challenge. Together they make Mouse the Mighty eager to show everyone the qualities of a true superhero
Fueled with so much excitement he could overflow he sonetines bites off more than he can chew. When he rushes into battle, blinded by the chance to prove himself his flight response is a little too strong and he uses his Miraculous power to split into many tiny versions of himself to run away, halfway through running he remembers who he id though, how powerful he now is and that his friends need him and he comes back with even more confidence and determination than he started with.
He has all it takes to be an outstanding hero and once he gets going he shows all he got. Armed with the knowledge of pop culture and the brain of a suorrhero obsessed boy he can quickly switch styles drastically mid movement. This unpredictability together with his size varying from one bear to many mice makes him practically unstoppable. Not only does he have brute force at his disposal but also he uses his weapon, a jumprope, like nunchucks or to trip people or any other way he once saw and thought looked cool.

I hope you enjoyed this. I was just hoping i could breath a little more life into the characters I've been playing around with for a while now but you so far only got one still image of each (also hoping to change that soon, I'm really working on that story)
For some of the Kwami's there's just barely any info about them, i hope it doesn't show too much where i was just winging it

every time i see someone claim that fireflies were scrapped because they're poisonous to frogs, i frown a lil inside like, that was just the nail in the coffin on something that they just did not have time for in 1.19. 1.19 was fairly crunched and meant to be small scope they just showcased too many of their plans :P the firefly like... it wasnt known whether it should be a particle or a big mob like the bee. the particle is more ambient, and even assuming they had decided on it being a 2 pixel particle... well, is it a mob? is it a particle? how do you implement masses of particles on both editions without lag? sporeblossoms only produce particles when you're close to 'em! And I imagine mojang just wasnt happy with the state of them. with them being 2 pixels. they have a (sometimes to their detriment) high quality standard. but they clearly didnt have any concepts for what it would be like as an actual proper bee-sized mob done. and thats just... too much for what was a catch up update with a little cherry on top (mangroves) 1.19 wasnt perfect, but they had just come off one of the most stressful updates and were delivering the most like, intricate system a single biome will probably ever have (sculk) Whether you think thats good or not, thats for you to decide, but like. too many people call mojang lazy, i think the real fault is they try so so hard for such high quality and overwork themselves because of it, while outsiders see a "lack of new things" despite "big company" anyways, dont blame the frogs. if they had a clear idea of how to do fireflies, we wouldve had them despite them being poisonous.

hey I'm a sha//kar//ian shipper and I agree with your post, I don't even interact with other fans of the ship (only a few who are normal) I can't stand the rest of them I don't even want to be associated with them, they don't understand they're harming a lot of people in the fandom with that attitude (including their lowkey racism and sugar-coated homophobia) it's just disgusting what they're doing and I wish they'd stop
yep they can be really shitty people with them insulting other romances and bullying people who don’t agree with them (i haven’t gotten any hateful anons yet though :/)
people give L*ara shit for having so much content but shi/ara people are honestly the chillest shippers in the fandom while *others* tend to be the most obnoxious ones. Like G is one of the most popular characters and the romance with the most content and yet they still complain when somebody critcises their lil garebear (this is petty as fuck but that is legit the cringiest nickname i ever had the misfortune to read)
I know I come off as such a bitch but it makes me salty as fuck that some people pretend they own the fandom and harass others because they think their ship is superior. There was a post that put G on a pedestal because he was the only person who talks about having children with Shep so that clearly means that he loves Shep the most and all the other romances are invalid because their lack of baby talk. Also they complain that not every squadmember talks about their relationship when some other romances aren’t even acknowledged by anyone. They have this whole tango scene and the booby trap scene and they still complain about the “lack of content”?? dude.
G is featured on almost every single media Mass Effect put out, they wrote him into every single game in the trilogy and he has next to L (who can’t die at all) the highest survival rates and he always takes banter priority.
I don’t even hate him as a character, I just hate how he is treated by BW and the fandom. I’m tired of seeing him anywhere, I’m tired of the “lulz Kaidan is such a loser, Garry is the best, I can’t wait to let Kaidan blow up on Virmire and sometimes I let Kaidan live so Garebear can shoot him lololol” bullshit in Kaidans tags and I’m tired of having this ship shoved down my throat.
other people have to deal with so much hate in the main tags of their favourite characters but boohoo someone made a mean textpost about Garry that wasn’t even tagged wahhwahh, the big meanies on the internet made a joke about a bunch of pixels, time to act like a child about this.
Sorry this is really ranty and no offense to you but I’m done talking about this now lmao

POST EGX WRAP UP
Tumblr media
So now that EGX is over and I’m slightly less sick and bed bound, I’ve written a lil blog post about how EGX went for Supremely Excellent Goblins! (and me, Gracie, specifically).
For those that don’t know, EGX is the largest gaming convention in the UK. Held in the NEC in Birmingham, each year it attracts about 70,000 people over 4 days! Woo!
It was a simply incredible experience, over 250 people came in person and played our demo!

(above are some of the afformentioned kickass people) We recieved an absolutely incredible response from people, including our industry peers such as the awesome Tommy Refenes from Team Meat, who gave us some valuable advice and feedback.
Tumblr media
Having never gone to such a convention to exhibit work before, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t scared. I worked with my team for such a long time, working late nights and early mornings to make sure this demo was as close to perfect as we could get it (even still requiring an emergency bug fix session after the first day. It is incredible what people will try and do to your game lol).
Heres what I would advise any other indie devs heading to their first public convention/public showing of their project:
Be prepared for fairly extreme negative feedback. Not everyone is gonna love your game, which is obvious! However, not everyone is gonna be polite about that. Honestly, we received about 98% positive feedback from people, but the first person that played the demo absolutely hated it and was not shy about that fact. That utterly crushed me and made the first day a lot harder than it needed to be. Have thick skin and have faith in what you’ve made, but don’t be blind to it. Honestly, the negative feedback is going to be what helps you the most in the end, so take it with a “Thank you!”, even if it leaves you feeling a little shitty.
Bring hand sanitiser and wet wipes. The filthy unwashed masses are, unsurprisingly, filthy and unwashed. Jokes aside though, not everyone at a convention understands basic hygiene (just being brutally honest) and you’ll probably need to degunk your kit at some point.
Bring stuff to give out to people! People LOVE stickers, badges, postcards etc - and it means free advertising for your game, and a lot of people will play just to walk away with a cute sticker or a cool badge. Dead Pixels 2 was displaying behind us and they were giving special shiny badges to people that played the whole demo and you bet your ass people were coming round multiple times.
Don’t be scared to invite people to play your game! If you see people umming and awwing around your stand, invite them over to play. Give em a hello and a quick introduction and they might just walk away as a newly converted fan.
Bring! Business! Cards! You will meet industry types there and you will need to give them some way to remember your details. I met over 70 different industry folks while I was there, and the only reason I can remember that is because I got business cards (and gave cards to) all of them!
Thank people that give you feedback or who talk about your game on social media! This is such a simple but easy thing to forget. Journalists, streamers, lets players and even the average joe are your best friend. They took the time to play your game and give you feedback, take a few seconds to thank em <3
Support your fellow devs! If you have time, visit their stands, play their games. Get numbers, twitters, badges, stickers. Make friends! These people are your peers and they love what you do as much as you do, and we all gotta stick together, y’know? I made some amazing friends while at EGX and meeting them was honestly my top highlight!
Lastly, expect the unexpected. Why? Cuz at this EGX, while displaying my first video game, I met the man who inspired me to take up game design to begin with: Lorne Lanning.
Tumblr media
Yes, thats me, in the shirt (with our sound designer in the red hoodie). Standing mere feet away from my childhood hero and creator of my all time favourite game series. Did I cry like a fucking baby after he wished me luck and gave me a hug? Yes. Yes I did. A lot.
Thats all from me for now, I gotta go chug a bunch of cough medicine and nap, but I want to thank everyone that came to see us at EGX and to everyone that worked with me to make it possible to begin with. Love ya <3
