i have been rereading sakadays, and nagumo's hair looks longer in the early art style compared to the recent one. ever since then, i can't stop thinking about how nagumo would come to us for help in cutting his hair. the bonus comic where rion cut his hair didn't help either haha. he would use it as an excuse to spend time together with us too, and make up lies like 'i don't feel like going to the salon. too noisy there!' when asked why he didn't go to a salon instead.

for him, it could be one of the rare times where he feels more ease. he would chat (and teasing) with you, but i like to imagine him staying silent most of the time to enjoy the rare times he gets to feel peace and safe in your hands. it's just you, him, and the sound of scissors snipping his hair in the background. even if you mess up his hair a little, he wouldn't mind haha.

Nagumo retracted his touch as swiftly as he had initiated it, feigning innocence when you shot him a glare through the mirror. Nagumo: (smirks) Careful there, don't wanna end up with bald spots now. You: Don't tempt me. Inwardly, he appreciated that you weren't tempted, instead enjoying the delicate touch of your fingers against his scalp as you worked meticulously.

End note: Can't guarantee how the hair looked afterwards, nor what the favour you end up cashing in is about. It's all up to your...

Y/n watches with curiosity as the new visitor yelps, stumbling back in his surprise, seemingly not expecting the librarian to be there. Standing behind their desk, they tilt their head, waiting for the answer to their question. Of course, unless there is something wrong with him..?

“Do you scare everyone who walks in like that? Hell…” He groans, fixing his robes before speaking, “but yes. I could do with some help; for my research.”

Research? Y/n’s interest piques, and they lead their guest to the shelves of books penned by all manner of scholars. A pleased smile finds its way onto their face when excitement sounds by their side, the stranger clearly happy with y/n’s selection of research material.

“If you require anything else, I shall be at my desk.” And Wooyoung bows his head in thanks as the librarian returns to their spot, eager to dive in and absorb all the potential knowledge looking back at him. Take that, Kim Hongjoong; the magic of Lemuria will be his to learn, Siren’s wrath be damned.

He reaches for one of the books, and the librarian is back by his side in a flash of light., stopping him in his path. What is it with people stopping him from furthering his research? He turns his head, only to be met by a deep oceanic glow staring through his soul.

“Human mage, if it is Lemurian magic you’re after, you will not find it within these shelves.”

“Tell me where I can, then. Where will I find research into—”

“I will show you to the archives, human mage.”

“Wooyoung.” Y/n pauses. “My name is Wooyoung. Jung Wooyoung.”

“I see. In that case, I am y/n, and I shall show you to the archives.”

This is my official summer drawing everyone :> In the middle on August HGEHEH

Soooo if its not obvious, this is another huge-ass drawing I had to overwork myself to finish :'[ Made me so mentaly and physicaly tired I couldnt properly draw for a day. Not that I wasnt able to just.. I really didnt fell like it :/

But anyway, here it is <:) At 1st, I thought whether it could just be based on just one franchise, but ultimatly I decided I wanted to do a crossover with various nintendo franchises haha And as you can see, I went overboard with it :P

1st we have Kirby taunting DK for being stuck in the sand.

Then we have Isabbele getting drunk at a bar- (Thnaks to @artsy-n-smartsy for the idea :D)

Then there is Peach gathering seashells and finds a Korok bc those lil shits are everyhwere-

Also, this drawing has by far the most characters within a frame. (From my portfolio I mean) totalling to 17 characters! I didnt go into this epxceting it to be this many, but life found a way lmao-

For the two people who read my description they are probbaly thinking why I do this to myself, and the answer is that I wanna make the best art that I can... and I dont want to take forever on just one piece. Everyone has their own tempo of course, and thats ok. Everyone should do what they think is right and good for them.. And I have my own way HHEHEHHEUH

Babs, Bruce and Danny in my dpxdc merfolk au!!!

Babs has her info Here. But this is her design! I’m not actually entirely sure if any of these designs are final, i might tweak them, but here she is! I gave her necklaces.

Bruce is based on a leatherback sea turtle! The spots aren’t actually super accurate to a leatherback’s underside, but if you look at it a little harder... you may find a fun little easter egg. It’s subtle... or at least i tried to make it that way. (If people don’t get it i’ll explain in a rb lol) Did you know that leatherback sea turtles can be up to 880 pounds? Idk what that is in metric but that’s roughly 7 and a half Bahfevs. They’re also much more triangular/less round than other turtles, so I reflected that in his design. And ofc, Bruce and Damian are both sea turtles bc they’re related. But they’re different sea turtle species so it doesn’t make much sense. Who gives a flip. What’s Talia, you ask? To that I say: 🤷‍♀️

(Side note: apparently, I’ve conditioned myself so I can’t draw nuetral expressions. It’s gotta have some emotion or else it looks wrong, and it feels natural to always have something going on there. So... drawing Stoic McStoicface here was a pain in the penis. He kinda has an expression anyway lol)

Danny is based on a ghost knife fish! I’ll be honest, i didn’t even know these existed until I looked up “ghost fish” in the hopes of finding something thematic. But then... omg! They’re black with little white accents? Like Danny’s design? And they have cool, funky bodies? AND they produce electricity!?? That’s so FKING COOL! I’ll have to do more research, but so far i’m pretty sure they don’t produce enough electricity to hurt someone. They are related to electric eels though! I first learned that electric eels were knife fish and not true eels when I was researching the moray eel for Duke. Funny how that connects!

Danny’s story under the cut!

Heehoo!

Okay so basically: Danny went diving to gather pearls because he wanted to make his parents happy/proud. While he was diving, His foot got caught in a rock and he couldn’t get it out. He panicked and he begged— to who? God, maybe? The universe, or the ocean? Maybe just begging fate or any higher power that could be out there, he doesn’t know. His only prayer was “Don’t let me drown!”. Unbeknownst to him, one of the pearls he’d grabbed was a magic, wish granting pearl. They’re rare enough that humans don’t even have legends of them... but the merfolk do ;).

The pearl took his very non-specific wish and decided to give him a tail and gills. He swam back up in a panic, and saw his new tail. Of course, this is a very horrifying thing to happen. But in less than a minute... it was already starting to dry off. As it dried, it turned back into skin.

Now, Danny has to be extremely careful not to get his legs or hair wet when he’s near people, because he’ll turn back into a merboy.

i... probably should have given him a shirt? He’d be wearing it, right? But i also did need to see what I was doing with that fin thing lol. I mean, a shirt would get annoying with that fin- he’d probably take it off. Tbh he’d probably have it off when swimming in general? Idk.

So: funny thing that happened when I was drawing Danny:

A first grader came up to me while I had it open on my desk, and she was like:

“Oh my god, that’s so good! Like, how did you even draw that?”

so I was like: “Oh thank you! ❤️”

And I think she asked again “How did you even draw that?”

so I was a little confused on how to answer, so I said:

“Well, I used my pencil...” and held up my pencil—

and then she got distracted by a spinny chair.

it's just reader from the dad!ross universe! there's crossover between a couple of my ross asks and the flatmate etc universe anyway (flatmate reader setting ross up with her best friend/maid of honour lol), and lowkey i think birthday party and shy gf would work in the same universe together too. but matty is bitchless in the ross x girlband gf au because it's funny lol. but yeah! idk. i like the little crossovers, i think they're fun. but i was raised by taylor so you KNOW i like an easter egg lmfao.

anyway, back to d word girly and mrs mac! given that you started at dh just as bfiafl was in its final production stages, it didn't take long for the two of you to meet, when she came into the office for meetings about tour and stage design (because that's her job!) - she said something like "oh thank god, we need more girls around here to keep these shits in check", smacked her husband and matty on the back of the head simultaneously, and gave you the biggest hug ever. icon! and then when you started hanging out with everyone outside of work, you got to know her more, and you met baby eilidh, who took a liking to you, which as you can imagine matty was both thrilled about and emotionally damaged by lol. actually, speaking of, i think matty did his fair share of pining over you to ross and his wife and eilidh, all three of whom (well, eilidh just kinda nodded as babies do) encouraged him to ask you out because "it's clear she's got a soft spot for you too, mate" lmao; mrs mac, however, stared him down and said "if you ever hurt that angel of a girl, though, healy, i'll actually murder you myself. she's a sweetheart. don't fuck it up", and ross was like "damn babe ok. but she's right, mate". but the macdonalds are very happy when you and matty get together - they love him, and love seeing him happy, and you make him that way, so they grow to love you too. i think matty worries a little at first that you'll be freaked out by the fact his bffs, the people you hang out with a lot, are married with a kid, but you love spending time with them and playing with bestie eilidh; it's all good, all love, and you KNOW she's so hype when lyla is born three years after her. yeah, it's a cute friendship <3

Ok so here’s a few thoughts after watching the Mutant Mayhem trailer

keep in mind, I haven’t been analyzing too long but I’m just super excited and wanted to share my thoughts.

Okay so, first thing I want to talk about is the scene with Splinter. I really love his voice actor, he sounds like an actual loving and worried dad instead of just a sensei, and I am loving the glasses rep that we have!

Not really any eggs i that I noticed from the scene, just wanted to say how I like the touch of “it’s 2023 Mikey” (I love these boys sm)

Next Scene! The brother bedtime (that’s what I’m calling it cause I’m not creative on the spot)

The brothers have a ton of stuff on their walls and Donnie has so many things on his bed, these are definitely teenagers lmao. I just have to say that I really love the art style I’m so excited for this movie!!!!!

When asked what he would do if they were accepted, Leo says “I dunno, get a girlfriend?” And Mikey says “can you imagine that!” To which Donnie answers “not likely”. I know it’s probably just a few snippets of their scene put together and that might not be exactly how the scene goes, or it could be just brother teasing, but I’m also a little hopeful that this is a hint that they’ve kept up the tradition of Leo being queercoded and he might be in denial. (Again, it’s probably not, but i think it’s be neat)

Next thing! The villain mutants-

I don’t have a lot to say here because I haven’t watched most of the iterations and can’t point out too many familiar faces, but I do recognize repo-Mantis from Rise!

She seems to be a teenager who wants to be a reporter so when she finds the turtles she wants to interview them so that maybe she can get into the mindset of the other mutant forces (Superfly/ Baxter Stockman)

I’m thinking what happened is maybe they caught her off guard and she freaked out but then they fixed the misunderstanding and now she’s teamed up with them and wants their help (well duh, that’s part of the trailer),

OOH! They might have run inter her outside (or inside) of whatever grocery store they went to (the errands Leo mentioned as he held up grocery bags)

Absolutely in love with the designs and I think she looks so badass but also like a super sweet big sister.

it seems like there won’t be any Casey Jones appearances, much to my disappointment but I’m still very excited nonetheless. Maybe at the very end there’ll be a small glimpse of Casey for a sequel, because he usually does join in sequels or later seasons (save for 2k3) and I’m just so excited for this movie!!!

I had to add this shot because just look at the brother interaction!! That is some adorable bonding and I am so excited to see these little booger beans in the theater!!!!!

SPOILER REVIEW FOR ACROSS THE SPIDER VERSE BELOW THE CUT

1000000/10, best movie, go see it immediately, Spider-Man my beloved 💖💖💖

- The Visuals

• Holy shit guys, this might be THE best animated movie ever created. They took the visuals and art styles from the first movie and cranked it up to 10,000!!

• Seeing all the Spider people in different art forms had my eyes glued to the movie, there were so many Easter eggs and nods to other popular Spiders, I know I didn’t see them all!

• The backgrounds were absolutely gorgeous! My personal favorite being the ones from Gwen’s universe, almost every shot had different colors in the background and it was just mesmerizing!

• They did a fantastic job distinguishing each universe from one other by using different color schemes and art styles, even when some of them looked similar, you could tell there was something different!

- The Characters

• They definitely go all in on character development in this film, they wanted to give everyone more character and personality and backstory. We’re missing a few of our Spider friends from the first film but they’re replaced with some new faces!

• Miles, the absolute GOAT, was such a great protagonist in this film. We spend a lot more time with his family this time around and they didn’t shy away from the slow and heavy moments. His mom even gets more of a role in this movie and she was great! He’s only 15 y/o in this movie and absolutely outsmarted every single other Spider at one point which was great to watch! There’s a plot point in the movie concerning Miles that will absolutely break your heart 😭

• Gwen gets a lot more screen time than in ITSV, she’s a stand out character in this movie! We get to see the relationship she has with her dad and get to go more in depth about how she lost her Peter! And I’m happy they didn’t rely too heavily on the romantic aspects between Gwen and Miles, but they touched on it and it was incredibly sweet!

• Miguel O’Hara my beloved!!! (I’m an Oscar Isaac stan, Moon Knight was the best Marvel tv show, fight me on it, lmao) I wouldn’t consider Spider-Man 2099 a villain, but he made a very good antagonist to Miles, he was very threatening! He didn’t get a very in-depth back story but you were given just enough information to sympathize with his pain. Something seemed fishy about his story, maybe I’m reading too much into it, but I’m hopeful they dive into it more in the sequel!

• SPIDER-PUNK, HOBIE BROWN OMG, what a fantastic new addition, he’s such a fucking anarchist and it’s great! He speaks in a thick cockney accent and I love his rebellious nature, he don’t give two shits about what anybody thinks! His character’s look might be the most impressive in the film, apparently it took animators 3 years to make him look the way he did!!

• Pavitr Prabhakar, baby boy, sunshine!! He’s a little cocky but in a cute way! His home of Mumbattan was SO GOD DAMN COLORFUL! I honestly wished he had more screen time because he was super funny and HIS HAIR, SO FLUFFY AND SOFT!!!

• Everyone’s favorite Peter B Parker makes a return! I can say he didn’t have as big of a role in the film as ITSV but he was still great regardless! And now he has a baby girl named Mayday!! And he kept trying to show everyone pictures of her like an actual new parent would lol.

• Jessica Drew is also a new character! She was super badass with her Spider Cycle! AND she was pregnant the whole movie which is even more badass! (Also, side note, when Gwen asked about her pregnancy, I really appreciated that Jess said that they she didn’t know the sex of the baby instead of saying gender, it was small but I liked that little detail!)

• Spot, the main villain of this movie (and the next) was interesting! If I had any real complaints about this movie, it would be that Spot was not in this movie as much as I hoped. I understand why because this is the first part of a 2-part movie, but by the end of the movie, he shows up and I was like “Oh yeah, Spot, where the hell has he been??” But he technically is a character we’ve seen before (I don’t wanna say who because it’s actually funny who he turns out to be!) He starts out being kind of goofy but he gets very threatening!

• There are bunch of other minor characters that I won’t go too deep into but my favorite minor character had to be Ben Riley, he was made to be super over dramatic and stated really obvious things while he was on patrol, got a few laughs out of me!

- The Plot

• Babes, the story is so good in this. I don’t want to give EVERYTHING away cuz I want y’all to see it for yourselves but I will say that this is a 2-parter! There is a “to be continued” at the end of the movie just so you’re prepared!

• The basic premise is that the Spiders have to take down Spot because he’s hopping to different dimensions, making himself more powerful. Spot has a personal grudge against Miles and wants to take away everything from him. You can tell from the trailers that Miles is trying to defy Miguel and what he’s doing, which ends up going in a very suspenseful direction! Again, not going to spoil everything, but it’s just such a great story!

• Like I said, they focus more heavily on family dynamics in the sequel which I loved! More time with Jeff and Rio which was nice to see, Rio has a great talk with Miles during the movie and it was so heartfelt! Gwen and her dad have a few scenes together too, it’s a really great relationship to watch unfold. Gwen and Miles have some great character moments together, but of course it’s not all positive!

• The dynamic between the different Spiders is a blast as well! I was never bored with this movie, it kept me engaged even during the non-action sequences because they did a great job making you care about these characters!

• This movie clocks in at almost 2 1/2 hours but I promise you, you’re not gonna feel that time. I did not want this movie to end! They throw so much at you but at the same time, you’re gonna leave wanting more!

• Where this movie ends is…wow!! I can say I definitely didn’t see it coming until a few seconds before they revealed what was going on, and I sat there and just went “oh…oh no…” for the last 10-15 minutes lol. And apparently the sequel will be out next year! And thank God cuz I could not wait another 3 years!

• A heads up! There aren’t any end credit scenes so you don’t have to stay for those! The only thing that happens after the initial credits is text appearing saying “Miles Morales will return in…” and it gives you the next movie title (won’t say what it is!)

- Miscellaneous (mostly Easter eggs and cameos)

• There were so many GOD DAMN Easter eggs in this film, it’s insane! I know I’ll have to watch it a few more times if I want to catch everything the put in here! There is def one cameo that stands out above everything else (I won’t say who, but you’ll know when you see him 😏)

• They actually showed very brief scenes from Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s movies which caught me completely by surprise, but I sure as shit was happy about it!!

• They don’t show any scenes from Tom Holland’s Spider-Man (which I understand cuz Marvel 🙄) BUT they make two references to it, one with a line from Miguel and with the cameo I mentioned previously!

• The Spectacular Spider-Man had a fucking voice line and I almost passed out, like I watched the shit out of that show, I was so happy he was included! They also showed the PS4/PS5 version of Spider-Man which I thought was pretty funny!

- Final Thoughts

• Peak cinema! The story, the characters, the visuals…all incredible! Go watch it right now immediately!!

I should preface this by thanking you for my most recent microcrisis, AKA the abrupt realization that somehow, somewhere along the line... the Theatre Kid Agenda™ has discreetly overtaken my top 3 list.

Speaking of the list:

1- You thought this would be Yuuya, but as it turns out... it's Yuuya! lol.

I'd go ahead and wax the usual poetry about the layers and symbols and all that jazz, but you've already seen me gush about that several times over, so I'll just focus on the babyboy factor for once instead. Yuuya may not have wet kitten energy even at his angstiest, but he sure is a sunshine bean of debatable genuity, and that's just as adoptable!

Looking at him alone is enough to make me want to offer comfort ok. I'm stuffing him in a blanket burrito and shipping him off to my place for a long, long break and some overdue therapy. We can cope with life together, cry a little, cry a lot, bake sweets to recuperate, melt into happy little puddles after a good treat, and then nerd out about theatrics and play a few duels to test silly strategies! This kid is my Son and he deserves all the best things in the world, so for every bit of pain he goes through I'm giving him a truckload of comfort.

2- You may have noticed this in ARC-V Month, you may have picked up on it through my sporadic, scattered mentions of the guy, but if not, then here's a fun fact: I have more than one ARC-V blorbo.

Introducing the central piece of a great many of my conflicted thoughts, confused feelings, paradoxical opinions, abrupt perception shifts, and eventual (semi-)begrudging affection that had me questioning my taste in pixels for like a whole year:

I've known this fucker for 5 years, hated him for a solid 3, and then woke up one winter day in 2023 and realized that oh shit, he managed to land himself a spot in blorbo tier. Is this what people mean when they say a character grew on them? Were my feelings playing the most long-winded joke on my mind for 4 years? Trust me, I don't know. What I do know is that maining his deck was definitely an endearing factor, and so was the 3rd ARC-V watch (this is where I started uncovering most of the easter eggs I know about the show, so perhaps the build-up made me a touch biased over time, but I genuinely found the 136-139 marathon more entertaining than annoying for once. We speak not of 140).

TL;DR: I think the lettuce clown is neat. Past me would have a stroke if I told her I'm a Zarc apologist now tho.

Sawatari is actually the one surprise in this list to me because, huh, I didn't realize how much I liked him over other nearly as cool characters until I put them side by side and pondered who brings me more joy when on-screen. I thought 3rd place would be someone like Yuugo, maybe Serena, but it seems I've taken a spontaneous shine to the banana peel?

See, Shingo's character may be on the simpler side by virtue of being the... designated comic relief, but that simplicity is part of his charm! The mix of charismatic and pathetic aura is a also rare thing, you know- It's not easy to be so cool and cringe at the same time and make it feel natural. That takes skill.

And speaking of skill, Shingo has my respect for always putting up a good fight, even in the games he loses to all sorts of jobber bullshit. He's a genuinely good duelist and a great entertainer, and I love that for him!

Guesstimate: Around a thousand. I've been around the fandom long enough to read all sorts of fics on ff.net and Ao3 (among other sites), and it sure feels like I've seen a lot, looking back.

Actual number: Approximately 600, rounding down. On Ao3 alone. Huh, I was expecting the number to be like, 200, so this is not too far off, actually! Maybe the reason the fic count feels higher than it is because the memorable reads tend to be REALLY long multichapters. Why are these so common in the ARC-V tag, by the way? Is it the allure of crossovers? The canon divergence AUs?

(The answer is both, and a few other factors as well. Good for us, I say! Longfics are a serious test of commitment, and I'm glad to see and follow so many talented and dedicated authors!)

Thanks to you I'm on Team "Gabriel is the cooler O'hara" and I'm sad bcuz the chance of him appearing in the movies is non-existent. Anyway, recently came across someone saying that when Miles went to meet Miguel, he passed through Miguel's "trophy room" and apparently you could see something of Green Goblin there, which implied Miguel killed him or something?? Now I don't remember seeing the trophy room or any trophies, but I'm also terrible at noticing background details, so... here's a penny.

man apologies for how late my response on this is. i am ALSO really bad at noticing background details lmao but i've had another look at the scene.

A couple things though. I feel like calling it a trophy room is like. a pretty generous term for something that's just a cramped, dark hallway filled with what looks to be unfinished tech fksdfjkdsfhk nothing in that room is displayed in such a way that implies Miguel like. wants it to be shown off.

And secondly, I think we have to approach stuff like this with like. knowledge in mind that these tidbits, given their blink and you miss it presentation, most likely exist just as easter eggs (like Miguel's partially built white suit you can see in one of the frames) and we need to consider them within that context. Especially the team has talked about reimagining Miguel to some extent (and thus us not knowing what elements of his various comic runs they want to include as canon to this iteration of him) it's kind of like. not really worth it imo to be drawing conclusions about the character from easter eggs until there's more substantial evidence actually pointing towards that being the case.

THAT ALL SAID. I rewatched the scene and didn't personally spot any green goblin memorabilia? there could be and i just missed it, of course, but even if there is I don't think that at all means Miguel killed his brother??? thats kind of a wild conclusion to draw imo fkdsjhfk

also. long story short. gabri as green goblin was a thing that came about in the 90s run because a whole bunch of the comic's staff got fired and the issue was rapidly approaching cancellation. so it wasn't even in the original plans for the storyline (was instead supposed to be a different character entirely) and actually ended up getting retconned in a later run anyways. so i don't think it's a detail spiderverse would bother resurecting.

so tldr, i don't know what happened to gabriel but i don't think miguel killed him no.

hii again!! i am so excited to hear your thoughts on fo4 after you get a chance to play it!! (also thoughts on pl once that’s finished.) very glad you liked the show. there are a lot of easter eggs for all of the games, but since you’re playing 4 after watching, you might notice things from the show! the ending was such a big reveal, im surprised they did it so early on but it makes me really eager for whatever they have in store for s2. (the mantis blades are very fun!! i miss running through enemies with them.)

i soso get what u mean by wanting to live in neuromancer, i really need a physical copy so i can rly be immersed in it. it’s definitely something i’m gonna be rereading for awhile. i’m about halfway through now and soo much has happened, im about to go to bed and i got to the scene where molly tells case ab her past and oh my god. i have no words. just laying in bed staring at my ceiling like What The Fuck. and like right after that, case got arrested. so i dont know whats gonna happen with that, excited to continue listening tomorrow bc i cannot get enough of it.

On Monks (and why they might or mightn't be making up fake news)

1. The monk made up Eostre to rail against non-Christian Easter traditions. ….But then why would he think the traditions were non-Christian in the first place… if they didn't come from non christian paganism???

2. He had a desire to copy the Romans, because Romans used cool polytheism names for things so he wanted to name things after pagan stuff too. Anglo Saxon paganism names = roman prestige. Okay so then why wouldn't he just name it after actual existing Anglo Saxon stuff. Did no Anglo Saxon gods exist? This doesn't explain the need to make up a fake god. 

3. He wanted to incorporate fake Anglo Saxon lore… to make Easter more palatable to Anglo Saxons?  🤔😂 Lmao wouldn't the Anglo Saxons immediately recognize that he was making up fake stuff about them? 

As you stated monks are known to document some existing pagan traditions, and that makes sense. Gathering knowledge on the people to better understand them/ be better able to convert them. Nothing exists that indicates Bede is not a reliable source. Nor do any historical documents contradict what he wrote on Eostre. Nor is there a plethora of written material from the dark ages of europe detailing pagan gods and customs such that it would be suspicious not to see more sources. Annnnd from what I'm seeing, scholars have some kind of linguistic link to Bede's Eostre as a Kentish goddess, so they are less likely write it all off as fake. 

On Eggs

Yes yes yes, the Christians have made up lots of stories to explain why they use eggs at easter. Some more examples are:

1. Mary Magdalene brought cooked eggs to share while waiting around outside the tomb, and when they saw the tomb empty the eggs turned red. 

2. In another Mary, the mom, took a basket of eggs to the cross and offered them to the guards and Jesus' blood dripped onto the eggs and colored them red. Or another version says her tears fell on the eggs and spotted the eggs with bright colors. 

3. Another one says that Mary Magdelane went to Tiberius Caesar and told him Jesus rose and he said "lol sure when eggs turn red" and then the eggs actually turned red. 

4. Another story is Early Mesopotamian Christians had a tradition of dying eggs red like blood on Easter. Although the only source for this last story is a 19th century catholic magazine. And the catholic church is known to NOT be a reliable source, rather they're known for absorbing pagan customs and claiming it's Christian. Obvious motive here. Also their magazine would had to have gotten the information from an older source… But none exist that I can see.  

So... when were the first stories of the various Marys being associated with eggs first documented? Because to me, it sure sounds like a bunch of made up excuses by the church after they already absorbed the pagan symbols. 

On Bunnies

Ishtar was associated with venus. Venus was associated with aphrodite. And those two were both associated with rabbits. And virgin Mary was also associated with Venus. So that's why Mary is associated with rabbits... And Mary was a character who exists in the Easter story… So Therefore… Easter bunnies??  

Why bust out this particular association for mary at Easter time? Kind of random. At least with the eggs there's stories to explain it… Mary is also associated with doves. So why don't we have an easter dove then? Goes better with the eggs, no? 

You know what makes more sense?

In 51 B.C. Julius Caesar says that in Britain they didn't eat hares or chickens due to their religious significance. And the discovery of skeletons of carefully, ritualistically buried chickens and hares in Britain also suggest that hares and chickens (eggs) were a religious symbol.

Historians think Eostre was associated with the Hare and egg, though, it is just a best guess situation. But it certainly would fit. 

Oldest references to the character of the Easter bunny are actually the Easter hare, Osterhase, and the character does originate in actual Germany, (as well chocolate easter bunnies.)

So based on available evidence, the Easter bunny and eggs coming from an association with the old english Eostre festivals, makes a lot more sense than anything else.

Addition about the image, courtesy of Twitter user @lui_log: wrt the background image, which is a stone plaque showing a winged goddess flanked by owls: “Also, we don't know whether this is a depiction of Ishtar, as the piece has been looted, thus has no archaeological context that could point us to whom it shows. Nor does it bear an inscription. The owls could mean that it is Ishtar's sister Ereshkigal, Goddess of the Underworld.”
