notes from bambi: here you go!
Matt did see everything. He liked to lurk in the triplet’s fandom spaces, and when his mental health was good, he even found it kinda fun, though he would never reveal this aloud. He definitely enjoyed watching those same spaces work themselves into a tizzy at his knowledge admittance–these kids were so funny. So it came as no surprise to him when the Tumblr TikTok video showed up on his feed.
Matt hadn’t had a good night. He’d tried to jerk off earlier, all to no avail. His antidepressants were helpful for his mood and overall outlook on life but goddamn did they make it hard to masturbate. With a snarl, he had pulled up his boxers and opened TikTok. That was over an hour ago, and now Matt scrolled aimlessly on his private account. He was quite proud of it actually. He disguised it as some random fanpage and had made it a personal mission that week to reblog a few videos about himself. No one would know, and he was nothing if not a Matt girl.
The video on his Following page was formatted simply–a girl in her room, as most of them were, and he saw it was one of his favorite fan accounts. She always had good takes and the drama in her comment section kept him incredibly entertained. She was expressing her fear at his now-infamous “I see everything” line, and with a chuckle, he pressed the heart icon, preparing to scroll away. In his sleepy haze, he missed, hitting the comment bubble instead. What he saw made his head tilt.

Matt rolled his eyes at that one. He knew it was a valid concern, but he also knew that there were prices to be paid for being famous, and he would take a few weird stories in exchange for the life of his literal dreams. And besides, he reasoned to himself, they were always so off-the-mark anyway that it didn’t even feel like he was reading about himself.
But back to the matter at hand. Matt had never even heard of Tumblr, so there couldn’t be that many triplet fan accounts on there, and he figured that after everything he’d seen on Twitter, he was ready for anything.
“Well this is fucking ridiculous,” he grumbled to himself, scrolling to the end of the “headcanon”, as it was called. Matt read the name of the “blogger” (he was learning so many new terms tonight) that posted it - some strange amalgamation of letters and numbers, with, of course, “sturniolo” tacked on to the end. Matt elected to keep his thoughts on the spelling to himself. “You’re weird for that. All of it.” He swiped out of the app, fully prepared to roll over, go to sleep, and forget all about it.
…
But what else did they get wrong about him? What did the rest of them think he did when he had sex? Matt figured he should check that “sturniolo triplet” hashtag one more time.
He sat up properly for this, sighing as he flicked on his bedside lamp. It illuminated his room, its soft light showcasing the woodsy decorations he’d furnished months ago. With a grimace, he opened the accursed app once more and began a deep dive.
It seemed the entire community centered around “smut” of him and Chris. He saw a few for Nick, a handful for Nate, all of which he scrolled past quickly, blinking them away. He wasn’t trying to dive that deep.
The first thing Matt noticed was that almost every story had a line of photos at the top, like a faux header. None of the images contained anything amiss–all were photos posted by him and his brothers throughout the years, pictures taken by fans at shows, and the like. No, the real stuff lay in the words. This was a community–he could tell that much from the amount of reposting–of very good writers. Many of their stories spanned thousands of words with multiple parts and real plots woven throughout. And there were a lot. It was dizzying. He adjusted himself.
There were stories for almost every situation, some even making him a drug dealer (though most writers seemed to think that out of anyone, it would be Chris, which he found hilarious due to the fact that Chris couldn’t tell a convincing lie if his life depended on it), a mafia boss, a father, a mechanic, or simply just a doting boyfriend. Some wrote him as a harsh, domineering man, quick to take his bratty girlfriend to task. Some wrote him as a needy submissive individual, and the words they used made his head spin. Matt adjusted himself again. His dick didn’t normally bother him this much. Maybe he needed new boxers.
Matt himself only had a bit of experience in the wide world of sex. He knew there were some wild kinks out there, but he found he was never much interested in watching that kind of porn, and he’d only been with a few girls his entire life, none of whom had ever asked him to perform such tasks on them, so he really didn’t know what he liked and didn’t like. As he lay in his bed, his lamp casting fuzzy shadows over his room, Matt couldn’t tear his eyes from the screen.
They think I’m capable of actually…spanking someone? Am I? If she wanted it, I guess…Apparently I’m some sort of sex god, super posessive, I have a breeding kink, whatever the fuck that means, and Chris and I fight over girls a lot. To him, that was the most unrealistic–he and Chris had wildly different types.
The sheer amount of stories depicting him absolutely rearranging the guts of the reader or y/n (he still had no idea what that meant) made his brain short-circuit, and he tried to tap out of the one currently pulled up. But alas, Matt still had no idea how Tumblr worked–the images below every story just took him deeper, and it was one of those images that he misguidedly clicked on, an innocuous lilac purple, covered in sparkles. Seems harmless enough.
As Matt tapped around, trying to get back, he found himself on another account and thoroughly lost. An underlined word in the first post caught his attentionconcepts. Subtitled below were the words, “short headcanons about the triplets! both sfw and nsfw”. He tilted his head. ‘Sfw’? What does that mean? A quick Google search quieted his questioning. Surely a “safe-for-work” headcanon would be fine to read. He tapped the link, and it directed him to a simpler page, one organized using just his name and Chris’s, each one with links below them. His thumb hovered over one near the top, its title mildly intriguing–“soft!dom!matt”.
Then he paused. Was he really doing this? His dick began to throb. He should have just left the whole thing alone, but now…well, now he had to know.
Five words in and he was pumping his rock-hard cock in his hand. Matt’s neck strained, his left thumb shaking as he tried to scroll to read more. Such a short piece of fiction and yet…
His stomach began to tie itself into knots. The more he read, the more he panted. His whole pelvic region felt tingly and his cock was so warm in his hand, and getting warmer by the second. This was different than anything he’d ever jerked off to before–this wasn’t a video, or even a naughty selfie from a girlfriend. This was pure porn, about him bringing some unnamed girl to completion over and over again. Matt didn’t even know that was possible. The unnamed girl couldn’t even handle his cock, that’s how tight she was-
The moment he realized this fact, his nuts clenched and he spurted cum all the way up to his chest. Pumping furiously, even raising his hips into his hand, he continued his explosive orgasm, letting out breathy groans as he did so. His chest heaved with heavy breath, and Matt felt the beginnings of a headache forming behind his eyes from how hard he’d just finished. He collapsed on his bed, sheets askew, pillows rearranged, staring blankly at the ceiling.
And then Matt realized which head had been doing all his thinking for him this entire time. Letting his now-limp dick flop to the side, he let out one more gasp of air. “That was weird,” he said aloud into the empty room. “Never doing that again.”
notes from bambi: i referenced my own work because it didn’t feel right to use anyone else’s without their consent, and i wanted to put this out today, not because i think my writing is better than anyone else's or because i think matt would prefer mine over yours. remember that it’s all just fiction and we write for fun. i hope you all enjoyed!

Debunking fandom rumors: Erin and Jensen
It has come to my attention that someone is creating multiple accounts and posing as ITK while claiming that Erin and Jensen have hooked up or have a love story. It seems some bloggers and users actually adopted this person's narrative without digging deeper and asking for evidence. My reason for this post is I have received asks and dms from people actually falling for these rumors and the stories behind them make absolutely no sense and there is zero evidence. I have also received warnings from the people who have, thankfully, not fallen for them and had things to share about the person responsible. There is a huge difference between speculating about your fav celeb and full on gaslighting people with made-up stories.
The story seems to vary a bit from person to person as it gets passed down by the people who have been misinformed. The web is so spun some have adopted these claims as truth. Let's debunk a few of those versions. Please note that I don't know them by heart and so they aren't super precise but the claim behind them is the same:
You may have heard that Erin posted about Austin and then deleted the post. - An actress going to Austin could be about an infinite number of events, from art to auditions to modeling etc. There is absolutely nothing out of the ordinary there because Austin is bustling with entertainment industry opportunities. Jensen was in the process of moving to Connecticut, moving involves preparing everything not just the actual move. If someone keeps insisting Erin was there for Jensen then please ask them for clear evidence and you will soon find there is none.
You may have been told that some woman who worked on set for the Boys caught Erin and Jensen in the act. - First off, Erin and Jensen barely intersected each other on set. Secondly, on-set crew signs NDAs. Thirdly, no professional actor would risk getting fired over flirting or anything related, that's a super fast way to get fired. A set is a professional environment. Most of all, people who are a part of the crew don't have so much access to the stars. They may get to interact and be around them when doing make-up, costume and other set-related situations but actors have their own designated areas and security is tight. Aside from this, rumors on a set travel at lightning speed and yet no such rumors about the cast ever surfaced. I can also add the fact that actors are trained to create chemistry and so they use various exercises to achieve this. Often, people end up believing they are in love precisely due to the powerful chemistry those exercises generate. Don't believe me? Cool, have a look here.
Some friend of a friend saw Erin in Jensen's lap in some social media post. All that was visible was the beard. 🤣🤦🏼♀- The beard belonged to Jai Courtney. No Jensen was involved.
Erin and Jensen got matching tattoos - In reality, Jai tattooed Erin's ankle, which had zero to do with Jensen. Here's a pic:
These are just a few examples, in some cases, the person sharing these rumors claims to be Jensen's hookup and that Jensen confided to her that he is involved with Erin. The person responsible for sharing these stories has multiple sock accounts and is posing as multiple people. The person has even resorted to stealing someone's online pictures to pose as that friend so as to differentiate one of her sock accounts from her original one.
Aside from this, this person has also taken to SM to harass the actors in their comment sections, in an attempt to make it seem as if the rumors have taken off. They have not.
Neither Jensen nor Danneel nor Erin deserved to be harassed over made-up stories. To avoid doxxing anyone involved, I have made this a general post to bring you awareness and give the person responsible a chance to reassess their actions and do the right thing. As mentioned in my disclaimer, I want to strongly remind everyone that anything you read online or on my blog or any other blog should be taken with a huge grain of salt. Just as when people contact you claiming they are Misha, Jensen etc. ask them for evidence and once they fail to provide it report and block. If someone contacts you to share gossip, stay grounded, ask questions, ask for supporting evidence and details, and make your own decision rather than adopting someone's idea of the truth. It's one thing to entertain a rumor and quite another to harass real-life people over adopting these rumors as truth. Gossip can be fun and entertaining but it should never, ever cross the line into slander, impersonation and other violations. Let's keep in mind that there are teenagers with naive perspectives, fans who suffer from erotomania or other mental disorders or people who simply lack information who might all fall victim to these machinations and suffer consequences. We all play a part in keeping fandom safe so let's exercise caution. Please stay safe online and help others do the same. I am feeling kinda tired so I apologize for not being able to compose this post as clearly as I wanted, feel free to DM me if anything is unclear.

BPP Hiiiii. I was reading the comments of a reaction video and saw this comment from a non-shipper. It reminded me of your post abt the types of people in the fandom n how they react to jikook. I think this commenter is a Type 2. It made me feel a better that armys see jikook as close friends and notice how they click. But some Vmin shippers saw the comment and started flooding it with how it's actually Vmin that are closer. 😅 It's like Type 3 rival shippers are really the worst huh.
**
(@tanniephile, I go on a bit of a tangent and ramble in this one)
Hi @tanniephile!
The comment you posted doesn't seem complete, but it does give the general idea that the commenter thinks jikook "click" and that jikook have a close friendship. And yeah, with nothing else to go on, it seems OP fits into Type 2.
I think like that commenter, a lot of ARMYs are actually cool with jikook. Most of the angst around any of the pairs in BTS is driven by the shippers rather than anything the pair does or is, and that's exactly what happened here. OP said nothing we don't already know: Jimin and Jungkook are close and their families are close too, but that was apparently enough for Vmin shippers to feel put on the defensive, spamming the comments section to highlight their ship. This is one reason I've said before that the sordid reputation shippers have is well earned. Too many of y'all are loony.
Like whatever the fuck happened yesterday with that taekook picture their poor friend had to delete right quick because taekookers were posting NSFW taekook fanart under it, while acting a fool in jikook shipping spaces at the same time. Who knew one picture could energize thousands of taekookers to multitask so efficiently? I saw a few jikook bloggers try to deal with that mess, and regardless of my dislike of shippers in general, I have to give the jikook bloggers who at least tried to act like thinking decent people their full kudos. Y'all are better than me cause I just kept deleting that insanity.
One thing that annoys me about jikook vs taekook shipping discourse, is that a sizable chunk of disturbed individuals have turned it into sport. The real game is not about anything jikook or taekook are actually doing. Instead the majority of people shipping taekook are playing a game that is all about one upping jikookers, using primarily Jimin as the game piece. Even Taekook themselves are only side pieces on the game board. Jimin is the person taekookers actually care about and they use 'wins' against Jikookers as proxy to keep score. Most jikook shippers appear to be more self-aware, but you'd be lying to yourselves if you didn't admit there's a growing faction who are drawn more into playing that game alongside taekookers, than actually enjoying or keeping up with Jimin and Jungkook.
Because there is no reason on god's green earth why one picture of taekook (unconfirmed) bowling with their friends, should cause anybody to care.
When I saw the volume of asks I was getting yesterday, I thought something more must have happened. I thought to myself how I would've felt if jikook was spotted bowling instead (jikook have done this too before btw), and my feeling would've been the same - I'd note it as just another random outing we've been made privy to and leave it at that. I wouldn't think of it as a date or proof of romantic attachment, the thought of taekookers would not even cross my mind until when they would inevitably become abusive towards Jimin and Jungkook on all online platforms. Like, honestly, I get why jikookers feel compelled to respond to this nonsense - taekookers can be disgusting, manipulative, and almost mind-numbingly absurd in how they think and behave that some of that filth begs to be exposed and corrected, but I really do wish more people including jikookers left them on read.
People that disturbed are bound to self-destruct if left to their own devices. Give them any oxygen and you give them a reason to not just keep existing but to become even more intense.
I wish more jikookers realized that their engagement, more than anything else, even more than confirmation that taekook are dating, it is the engagement from jikookers that taekookers are after. Like that's the whole game. It's the same for other toxic shippers (such as the Vmin shippers above) who treat their relationships as some kind of competition. Once taekookers successfully bait you into responding, into comparing and counting 'moments', into acting like Jimin, Jungkook, and Taehyung aren't real life breathing human beings who have actual friendships in real life, then they've gotten exactly what they want. And the entire space gets overheated over nothing. Energy is redirected from more enjoyable things (their photofolio reaction vid is still fresh, RUN BTS dance practice dropped only two days before, and RM is dropping the album of the year in 2 weeks). It entrenches people deeper into their respective teams, and common sense becomes even less so.
It's weird.
It takes borderline harmless instances and artificially inflates the importance into something angsty or catastrophic. Things then take on outsized meaning only because shippers think of it so.
For example,
So what if Taehyung mentions Jungkook in his Vlives because he knows shippers would care? And so what if Jimin does the same? Or Jungkook for that matter?
Is this something that is completely impossible? Of course not. They are idols and they know many people in their fanbase enjoy hearing about their pairing interactions.
Will this mean he *only* mentions Jungkook or Jimin for that reason? Of course not. They are actual friends in real life who actually hang out. They clearly enjoy spending time together and sometimes don't mind sharing those tidbits with their fans.
Is he saying this to deliberately manipulate millions of people into hating Jimin or Jungkook because he's secretly malevolent or wants to hurt his bandmate? Of course not. Again, these are real life friendships corroborated by their own words, and that of their other 5 bandmates, etc. The people acting a fool on account of one bowling outing should be held responsible for their own actions. Taehyung is not the reason Patricia from Manila is spamming jikook blogs on Tumblr about taekook fucking under the stage in Busan to make Jimin jealous.
*
At some point, y'all are going to have to realize that taekookers enjoy doing this. It's a game. They're the og shippers because they do not see the guys as people. They're here because they think they've found an interactive telenovela game with the option to proxy self-insert. Many of them are not capable of thinking beyond the game of their ship, they are not capable of giving a fuck about possibilities outside the fantasies and narratives they create. I know it, they know it, and that's probably why after the 12th taekooker ask sent into my inbox yesterday, that person finally took a hike. There's nothing to be done for taekookers, vminers and other toxic shippers, they're too far gone. Jokers still seem like they have their wits about them and know how to have fun, so I'm addressing this to y'all instead.
These people are insane and have no one to tell them. It doesn't have to be your problem. Jimin is and will be fine. As will Jungkook and Tae. Engage with the lunatics if you must, but also please consider all the above.

On writing “In Character”
The fanfic writer’s biggest fear: waking up to an inbox comment of “This is OOC”.
While I’m mostly joking, this is still a sentiment that exists among fanfic authors, especially those who are new to the fandom. I was actually so terrified of my work being described as “out of character” that I didn’t even publish my first fanfic until 5 years after I first joined what I consider to be “fandom”.
Here’s some of my thoughts on the matter, and what helped me get out of stressing about my fanfics. Because after all, we do this for fun!
I’m not Togashi. You’re not Togashi. The only true person who can write the HxH characters perfectly “in character” is Togashi himself, and that’s because they are all his characters. Every fanfic we write with them is merely an extrapolation of their existing traits which we use to tell our own stories. Think of the characters as clay that have different properties. While you can mold them, the clay itself can have different characteristics that impact how easy they are to mold, or what tools to use with them. Instead of stressing about trying to perfectly emulate the characters, do what feels right and natural to you.
Sometimes what you see as “in character” someone else will see as “out of character”, and that’s okay. Here’s an example from a conversation I had with a friend of mine the other day.
He proposed the question to me- “Assuming he were allowed to, is Killua the kind of person to wear a skirt or dress?”
My initial thoughts on the topic were as follows: Since we see Illumi, Kalluto, and Alluka* dress in feminine outfits canonically, Killua would definitely be allowed to wear dresses or skirts. However, we never see him wearing such, therefore he likely has no interest in wearing them.
*No idea if the Zoldycks know Alluka is a trans girl, I don’t want to get into the debate right now, but regardless they allow her to dress in feminine clothes.
To that my friend brought up the idea of Killua layering a skirt over some pants and I decided to consider his idea because why not, I have no strong feelings about it one way or the other, and came up with a justification for why he would wear skirts: we see Killua change outfits many time throughout the series, suggesting he has an interest in fashion. If he saw male models with skirts in some of the fashion catalogues (or wherever he gets his outfit ideas) he may emulate those.
So... which one is correct? Was my first argument more convincing, or my second? Truth be told, I see both as correct, and here’s why.
The characters only exist in the text as we see them, but there are many facets of their existence that are up for debate. I presented a logical argument for either way, therefore they’re both “in character”, despite being opposites. Though some people would say one is “more in character” than the other, it just boils down to personal preference and interpretation at that point.
tldr of this section: if you justify it with the text it’s “in character”
To that brings my next point. Louder =/= “more correct”.
Let’s use my example again, just for fun. Let’s pretend I’m a really famous blogger, and my platform is built on the idea that Killua would never, in any circumstance, ever wear a skirt. Maybe I make memes about him rejecting frilly outfits, or even write it into a ton of fics. People reading these fics then adopt a similar headcanon for him, to the point where it seems like everyone in the fandom is accepting this. It can feel frustrating if you don’t think that’s canon, especially if everyone else is telling you that it is.
The point is, sometimes what the fandom majority says is “in character” isn’t any more “in character” than your own headcanons, it just feels like it is because everyone seems to be doing it. In this case, try to seek out people who do agree with you- or at least are willing to have conversation about your ideas. Still write that content, even if it’s against the fandom norm. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had people leave me comments that my fics that I myself was worried were “out of character” that they really enjoyed how I interpreted the characters. And I’ve made some fandom friends that way, too. You don’t have to please the masses to be “in character”.
tldr of this section: disagreeing with popular fandom interpretation doesn’t mean your headcanons are “out of character”.
Lastly, with those two talking points out of the way, if you’re not having headcanon justification / fandom issues and it’s more of a technical “how do I write this character” topic, I would suggest going back and reading the manga.
The manga, in particular, because you can skip to whatever scene easily and read the dialogue, see the sentence structure they use and get a feel for how their dialogue reads in your own head. This has helped me many times when coming up with dialogue. A little hack I use when coming up with dialogue is using the character’s voices in my head to read it out loud, and if it sounds natural then I throw it into the fic.
Another thing is if you have some supportive fandom friends, you can run ideas by them, like “oh what do you think of this concept?” and ask for a bit of feedback. 9/10 times I’ve found that friends mostly hype each other up or even might come up with some justification for why the headcanon works (akin to the killua in a skirt example) so mostly this solution is just to hype your confidence back up.
We’re our own harshest critics (except for this one guy who went to town on my nanowrimo original story from 2019, but fuck that guy in particular) so really just read the text again and have a bit more confidence in your writing. And remember, we do all of this for fun, because we want to write little stories and share them with the world. It’s not that serious, have fun with it!

AN OPEN LETTER TO THE BRIDGERTON FANDOM
Okay so context for why I decided to write this: I had started drafting the last two Salty Asks since I got them yesterday but the fandom drama and fighting really has reared such an ugly head. It's just awful the language and hostility on both sides - especially to those on anon. Just because you can hide behind the screen and anonymity to throw such terrible rhetorics that are just straight up being racist and misogynistic, doesn't mean you should do it.
That being said I don't think posting my answers for those questions are going to be productive or create positive content in the fandom tags and spaces no matter how funny or in jest I make it. So I'll refrain from posting them and if the anons who sent them would still like to know my answers, you can hit me up again via asks off-anon so I can reply privately or even drop me a DM if you're feeling comfortable enough to do so. I promise I don't bite! For reference these were the questions the last two anons asked:
Anon 1 - 15 (Show/Books Unpopular Opinion) , 26 & 27 (Most & Least Shippable Char) Anon 2 - 7 (NoTPs in fandom) , 11 (Unpopular Char I like) , 14 (Unpopular Opinion About the Fandom)
Now to the Main Part of this post. I would really appreciate it if EVERYONE could read this. Like literally if you don't wanna read the first two paragraphs fine, just scroll and:
EVERYONE PLEASE READ FROM THIS POINT ON
I initially wrote this part as an answer to the asks and was going to post it last to close out the Salty Asks because it felt like a good way to end out everything that had been answered and make it clear how to maintain fandom boundaries and just be civil and nice. Here it is as I wrote it last night and just added a section about the language and 'defences' used on anon but are really attacks on the blog user:
We all need to take a breather and cool off - even me I'll admit. We need to stop clutching our pearls every time our faves get criticised.
Across the board and depending on the ship/story, it's a scale of "Yes, he's trash but he's my trash <3 what about it?" (Me about Anthony tbh) to "HOW DARE YOU INSULT THEM - THEY CAN DO NO WRONG" (this goes without saying which stans defend their characters like this). It's the doubling down on awful actions that get to me. And now I'm seeing that once these toxic people (I'm not even going to dignify calling them fans - if you were fans you wouldn't spend all day harassing other blogs about their ships) hiding behind anons run out of defences for why their ship is superior and should be liked by everyone, they start attacking other ships. Especially if the blog that they are sending anons to like this particular ship. This point is very much an observation of what I saw unfold last night and it was absolutely vile:
I do not understand how discourse on Promogate (coined by my brilliant friend 🔔) had devolved to toxic people who claim to be Polin fans slinging mud at Francesca and Franchel? Like Francesca has literally done nothing and isn't even around and THEY ARE USING THAT??? against her. Like please guys Frannie is the least problematic Bridgerton, why single her out?
Like I mentioned earlier, once the toxic anons run out of any semblance of a defence to 'protect' their faves, they either start attacking bloggers themselves or reduce to being petty and going after the blogger's ships in hopes to make them feel as bad as they clearly feel to lash out like this.
Then of course, going straight to the root of the problem and the original reason that I disliked Show!Penelope was how her storyline with Marina concluded. That was fully on the writers and CVD's shoulders. They should have never written it like that or at least taken a step back to evaluate the racial implications of Penelope lashing out at Marina in such a vitriol and public manner, leading to Marina almost dying after being publicly humiliated and outcast from society. And instead of toxic anons using some critical thinking for once in their lives we get shit like this:
I'm not even going to explain why these comments are horrible and let the obvious racism and misogyny that jumped out tell it for you.
Like Jesus Christ, I know they are fictional characters. But think about why you (toxic anon) have such a deep rage about a black woman being chosen and loved by a Bridgerton, and why you feel the need to throw awful words and comments like this at her. And yes, Marina is fictional and this won't affect her but the BIPOC fans and people who follow the tags will see these comments. I can tell you as a WOC myself, it fucking hurts to see these kind of asks. It shows us there are people in the fandom who do not give a shit about us or view us as humans beings, probably see us as disposable and find our opinions and concerns about these storylines as irrelevant.
The main takeaway from this is that if someone - especially a person from the targeted community - tells you why these characters' actions are hurtful/disgusting/ problematic, LISTEN. As a whole fandom, we have forgotten to listen and take into account of other voices. Especially within our fandom, the biggest problem I would say is not listening to minority group's voices - be people of colour or the queer community.
[Examples include: Black fans about the treatment of Marina, the Desi community about the Sharmas and the unnecessary India plotline and backstory as well as the Queer community with the Benedict Being Bi/Lesbian Eloise discourse. LISTEN to us when we talk about these issues and try to see it from our point of view.]
On the flip side, the fictional 'crimes' (I use this term loosely and I mean the bad problematic behaviour/actions) aside, I think snarking on characters you dislike is fine but don't go around attacking people who like them just stay in your own corner of the fandom.
You can stay in your lane by: unfollowing/blocking, tagging posts accordingly like let's say you often reblog snarky comments and posts about a certain character, just tag it as '[Character] Critical' and then if you have a follower who likes the character they can just block that tag. And stay out of ask boxs if you're going to be overtly mean and not offering any constructive criticism.
This is a lesson I learnt personally as well over the last year being in the fandom. I'll admit I snark a lot on a couple of characters I just cannot stand but I'm trying to do better to minimise the snarking from now on. I also know there are groups of people who like them and view the tag. We are all real people behind our screens, so I respect their preferences and them as a person. It's not like I am running a hate blog about these characters and sending death threats via anon. There's just that line between snark and being cruel and we should be mindful of it.
This is the first and last time I'll ever laid it all out in a post like this but that does not mean I will stop calling out bad behaviour should it come to my blog. If not, I'm going to follow my own advice and block tags.
If none of you read any of that, here's a TDLR:
1) Racist/sexist/homophobic and generally hateful anon asks are not it!
2) Listen to the minorities groups within the fandom when we bring up valid issues and concerns with problematic storylines/promo/character actions
3) Just be civil and respect fellow fans - we are all in the same fandom at the end of the day and have to co-exist.
4) Carve out your own fandom space on your blog and curate your fandom experience via unfollowing/blocking and tagging posts accordingly if you want to keep away from different parts of the fandom.
[Note: I will be keeping my ask box open for constructive discussions but the moment I catch any whiff of hate or distasteful comments about me or any characters, I will block you and turn off anons. As my personal rules goes: if you have something rude to say or want to shit talk me, say it to my face.]

Hi. I was wondering how you did your research? Apart from reading the manga or watching the anime. Your thoughts have obviously evolved and changed with time, and you have a good pulse on what other fans think. The rest of SNS fandom, NH or SS fandoms. For research, do you hold discussions with other Tumblr bloggers or stick to Quora or Reddit or Narutopedia? Do you follow up on Twitter or Insta?
I did a lot of research after my first watch, Anon.... Because I became restless after realizing the nature of SNS bond towards the very end of the series. I'll be posting about how I came to ship SNS today.. LOL... That's quite an experience.
So, After I realized, there's no way these guys could be friends and they love each other... I started to research in Google. But all I got was a severe Acid-Burn in my stomach. Because It was full of lies and delusions. Like there was this question in Quora, Was Sasuke really trying to kill Sakura after the Kage Summit Arc?.... One of the poster answered, No...... And with some bullshit theories which didn't even made any sense.
I wasn't even that strong of an SNS shipper after my first watch. I had only this faintest feeling that maybe they love each other even though I knew they won't end up together. But still, as a Non-Shipping Responsible viewer, those lies irritated me a lot. The more I researched, the more I got restless... Because of Lies and Homophobia. This is when I got to know what Naruto Fandom, especially How shipping fandoms really functions.... There's not one single space in Internet where discussion about Naruto was without any Headcanons and Delusions. Sometimes I got existential crisis, you know??? Am I blind or brainless?? How come I never saw this in the Anime??
Reddit was full of Dudebros. They really care more about Power Levels of their Favorite character and Hinata's "Prospects". Lots of homophobia over there. You really cannot comment Sasuke have feelings for Naruto over there.... If you do, then you will be demolished without any existence.
Then comes Instagram.... God!!!! Totally full of rabid Assholes. And most of them are Girls. I spent a whole day to block and filter Naruto tags in Insta.... Because SS girls repulsed me a lot. Their fan arts and head canons and the words they use to abuse people..... Ewwww!!!
Then comes Quora.... It is pretty Okay. And yet bad. Some write ups are really honest with full of facts and panels. Whereas some are entirely bordered on delusional Zone. From there, I got perspectives. Like how SS, NH, NS shippers think about their own ships and other ships. I came to this conclusion that, when it comes to bashing other ships they are completely Analytical comparable to the level of Sherlock Holmes and their posts were full of Manga panels. However when it comes to their own ships though, they go full-on delusional!!!! LOL. Quora is a good place to get the thought process about other ships in a less irritable and decent way. [[Oh, If you decide to check Quora.... Instead of only going through the answers, you should check the Comment section... That’s where the fun part lies.]]
I DID ALL OF THE ABOVE BEFORE COMING INTO TUMBLR.... So, Before I even decided to write my first post here, I pretty much knew how other shipping fandoms’ brain got wired and functions.
And finally Tumblr.... I think this is the only safe-haven for SNS shippers. Even if you don’t ship SNS, you will still find most of the reliable information about Naruto Series from here, especially in SNS related tags. I discussed with few SNS bloggers about SS and NH Fandom.. But most of the times, we end up talking only about SNS.. LOL. Sometimes they share about their bitter experience they faced from other shippers, some ugly fan-arts and Head Canons.... And some delusional posts they came across.
So, Yupp!!! Quora and Tumblr is where I get a lot of opinions about other ships. But venturing into SS and NH tags here, in Tumblr, is not Recommended for people with Faint Hearts or irritable eyes, especially SS.

sorry if you’ve already answered this before but what is wrong with the usage of “fujoshi?” i tried finding sources but couldn’t find any. thanks!!
hi anon from 3 months ago, I’m going to copy in your follow-up ask here as well because I appreciated it and want you to know I saw it:
i sent an ask a few days ago about the term “fujoshi” and i just wanted to say if you are uncomfortable with answering it, it is totally fine and i can always dig further, ur mental and physical health comes first!!
anyways. short, glib answer: there's nothing wrong with it
longer answer: oh god.
honestly, I can't really do a post that's any more extensive than this one here which is broken down into easy to understand sections, contains a wealth of links, sources, etc. with lots of information that is also new to me!
you can also take a look at the fanlore page on fujoshi and the chinese equivalent, funü which have brief summaries but also lots of links that you can trawl through in the references sections. @satans-tiddies tag on fujoshi discourse has a lot of information as well.
two personal sidenotes: 1) probably because I'm too young (and from the US), but I never associated fujoshi being used as a serious insult. by the time I got into fandom as a kid, it was already pretty prevalent as an affectionate self-identifier in the anglophone spaces I was in. I HAVE lived through the period where it became super cringe to use fujoshi though (yes I too found it very cringe), and of course, the current state of the discourse :') for some reason, my brain always thinks of the 腐 in fujoshi not as "rotten" which is how it's intended, but as "fermented" because it's part of the term 腐乳 in chinese, which means fermented bean curd :'D the puns are also excellent.
2) my mom absolutely bodied me once over dinner by being like "omg cyan so i read this gay blogger on wechat and I learned today that you're a FUJOSHI--" and i had to leave the fucking table
#Anonymous#asks and replies#fujoshi#fujoshi discourse#mine#uhhhhhh god it's not really mine is it?#meta#mymeta#??#idk i need to get a better tag i say like i do every time#anyways before you ask yes this was at dinner with my father too so like#i can only be grateful that my brother was out of town#assigned fujoshi by mom#as my friend put it#anyways to be clear: yes i do think the anti-fujoshi stance is heavily steeped in racism and misogyny#if i see you using fujo or fujoshi as an insult you do immediately lose 126 trust points in my book#resources

Transphobes other than TERFS
Writing a cohesive post about identifying radfems and terfs got me thinking about transphobes and their different faces. As someone put it to me in conversation, people miss-apply terms like terf when the person in question isn't even a feminist. She wasn't wrong; the word we use for folks like that is just "transphobe." But I've been mulling this over, and I've realized that just as many people have a general understanding that terfs are bad but can't really explain what they look like outside the most egregious examples, many people have little experience identifying what I have previously called "garden variety transphobia." More than one person I spoke to recently was surprised when I described the sort of transphobia I experience from inside and outside the queer community. I don't say this to make anyone feel bad; as I've said before, it's functionally impossible to know everything or to be invested in every problem everywhere all at once. So I've put together another post about another type of transphobia.
Keep in mind, I will be talking here mostly about trans men, and my experience as a trans man. I can't say I speak for all trans men, and I definitely can't speak for all other trans folks. I'm not trying to say anyone has it better or worse that anyone else. Other trans folks are welcome to add on about their experiences that might parallel this situation - especially trans women.
To start off, I'm going to say that I generally dislike bringing up fandom in the same conversation as other issues. I feel like saying "oh this happens in fandom too" cheapens the original message of the discussion. On the other hand, I've noticed some people acting like behavior and experiences offline are the only ones that "count" - both in terms of what you're allowed to feel hurt by, and what you're allowed to get away with. Additionally, I was prompted to write this by a fandom-related post I saw, which is adjacent in function to the terf posts I talked about previously (innocuous posts to draw people in to their blogs, and engage them in deeper transphobic conversation). See below:
I'm sure more than one of you has seen the sims gaming section, which some popular bloggers screenshotted and have been mocking. That's how the whole post came to my attention. This is why I'm bringing up fandom and media. A lot of people are talking about queer fetishization in the media and in fan spaces, and while some people are trying to do that in good faith, it quickly becomes obvious that some are not.
So how does trans-man hating connect to vent posting about fandom? I’m going to try and break down how transphobes describe and smear trans men, how they slip it into discussions of fan behavior, and transphobia lives on in the cis-gay community.
There are a group of folks on tumblr who call themselves TEHMS (trans exclusionary homosexual males) - effectively, gay guys that don’t consider trans guys to be men and don’t consider us to be gay the same way they are. Offline, we would just call these guys transphobes.
The post above is pretty absurd. But I first want to draw people’s attention to the bullet points about height and femininity. When we consider writing about gay characters, I would challenge people to think about what a man looks like. Is there any set definition of what a man is? Do men like baseball? Must he have a beard? Hair on his asscheeks? Hands that span a certain width? My point in saying this is that if you go to a gay bar and look at the people you find there, you will not find two people that look the same, sound the same, or have the same interests. I find it real funny that "short man" must mean a lady is writing a self-insert character. Look, I'm short for a man (even among other trans men). But my cis partner is not much taller than me, he is not white, and he's very much not "female coded" for being 5'5." Trying to apply these standards to cis guys shows how dumb they are, and it reeks of the same selective biases as "no fats, no femmes, no asians."
The other thing is the focus on authors like Albertalli. Albertalli is a queer author, who was forced to out herself after some extreme community gatekeeping. The language here describing her makes it clear that this fellow doesn't see her as queer, or perceives that she came out falsely as a ploy to ... idk, she hasn't shared her evil manifesto with me /sarcasm. This, in combination with a title like "straight/bi women fetizishing men" is what tipped me off that a post like this is really about having a dig at trans men.
So I hop over to this fellow's blog. My suspicions are almost immediately confirmed by the blog heading:
"actual homosexual, actual opinions." So... as opposed to the fake homosexuals with invalid opinions? Who exactly are these fake homosexuals? If we were gonna compare this to how radfems and terfs talk, using phrases like "real woman" and "actual lesbian" as a way to covertly identify themselves to each other as trans-women exclusionary, one can see that the "fake homosexuals" here are gay trans men. It gets even better, just wait.
This guy is actually pretty transparent about it. His blog is stuffed with this crap - usually, I have to hunt for it. Immediately, I find posts like this:
note how he uses "TiFs." This is an acronym that stands for "trans-identified females." Trans-identified female is a transphobic term for a trans man (TiM is the term many transphobes use for trans women). It is transphobic because it focuses on the sex we were assigned at birth, and positions our gender identity as being of lesser significance. It's misgendering to bring up the fact that our genitals and other bodily characteristics do not match cis folks', that gender affirming medical therapies may never achieve a physique like our cis counterparts, and to use a term that heavily implies that transness is the mental aberration of perverts who can never truly be or satisfy cis gays.
Other things to note about this post: the strong aversion to porn. Note the claim that porn is not realistic and doesn't portray real world social or relationship dynamics. This is technically true, but look at what he uses this kernel of truth to say. That cis gay adult actors are simply earning a paycheck by shooting scenes with trans men - that no cis gay man would date or sleep with a trans man, and that a cis gay man cannot genuinely be attracted to a trans man. Note also that he refers here to a bisexual adult actor. The assertion here is that the actor is bisexual and not gay, because only cis men are men, that gay men can only be attracted to cis maleness, and that the bodies of trans men are not male but female.
But wait! There's more. Further down I find another post about homophobia. Let's take a look.
Obviously this person is in a vulnerable position and has experienced homophobia in their community. I'm gonna start by saying that individuals are the experts on their lived experiences, and it's likely true that this person has a keen sense for detecting homophobia. However, it's not true that being cis or being white is a magical protective factor against all harm, and it's disingenuous for him to say so - when people say that being a person of color or being trans makes life hard, they mean that it has a unique impact on their lives and the sort of bigotry they face, not that it erases how other people are suffering. But looking at this tells me how this person was radicalized to think like this: vulnerable people who lack support are most at risk for radicalization (and cult-like indoctrination in general). Transphobes are good at poking around for weak links, and exploiting people's pain. They position themselves as the only safe harbor for storm-battered ships, and teach people that anyone else seeking shelter alongside them is their enemy.
I want to draw your attention now to the second paragraph. Look at how he describes trans men/ afab genderqueer folks. We're straight (and therefore trying to coerce gay men into relationships, or to spy on their lives for voyeuristic pleasure). We have bad hair and ugly clothes, and no social life (aside from our physical bodies, we must be immature and unappealing). We use "ratself" pronouns. For what it's worth, there's nothing wrong with neopronouns, and genderqueerness doesn't need to fit inside existing binaries or be a neutral third category, but it's very telling that this dude picks something he thinks is unflattering in an attempt to make us look mentally unwell. And it's worth addressing how this is ableist. Mental illness or neurodivergence does not invalidate someone's gender. How paternalistic to say that we must all be little confused girls, who should be prevented from mutilating ourselves, cured of the delusion that we're men, and prevented from sexually traumatizing ... our willing cis gay partners? make it make sense, because this sounds more like someone under the effects of heatstroke than any cohesive ideology.
In the context of writing (professionally and in fandom) how does this manifest? Well, refer to the first post about writing gay characters, and this:
Rhetoric like this is interested in finding Those That Don't Belong, and Those With Bad Intentions. I will say first that I am very much not interested in sorting the chaff from the wheat here, when the consequence is that in trying to remove the chaff, we forcibly out queer writers. And that really is the end result here. Trying to figure out if someone is writing something for the wrong reasons will only lead to picking people's lives apart. Look, I'm not even a fan of Albertalli's writing; I'm rather outside the target age demographic for high school meet-cute lit. But I think claiming a queer woman is fetishizing other queer folks fails to use Occam's Razor (forget the razor, it's a bit like trying to shave your legs with an orbit sander - why is an orbit sander your tool of choice??). Try going through some more plausible options first: her writing is good but you don't personally like it, her writing is bad and you don't like it, or she has some rather natural spots in her writing that lack the insight a gay man might have (let's face it, even with plenty of research, I don't think I could write about a Finnish character as well as someone who lives in Finland; that doesn't mean I can't get pretty close or do a respectful job researching).
What does this have to do with trans and genderqueer people specifically? Well, there are still people talking about the "plague of fujoshis" in fandom. I don't deny that there have been many fans who have behaved inappropriately. Between showing explicit rpf to actors/singers/youtubers; stalking, doxxing, and grabbing people's asses at cons; and either not doing enough research or challenging biases about sexuality/gender and how that impacts how they interact with fandom, there is plenty to talk about. But when we have been talking about bad fan behavior for over ten years now (I've been on this site a long time, I'm showing my age)...
Look. We have got to address bad behavior on a case by case basis. Because making sweeping statements about "Why People are Really Writing This (It Must be For Fetish Purposes)" only ever leads to Becky Albertalli situations. We are asking people to out themselves, or be labeled a fujoshi. And here's the thing about calling people fujoshis. That term has been totally co-opted by TEHMs like the guy that wrote the posts I've been examining to insult trans men. Why? Because fujoshi is an unflattering term for a straight slash fan. And to transphobes, trans men are straight girls who are sick in the head, fetishizing real gay men and traumatizing them by forcing ourselves upon them:
I'm not saying anyone who says "look, X gives me bad vibes" is being transphobic. I'm not saying we should not be discussing how to be more respectful to queer and genderqueer folks online and offline (I am the (gender)queer folks we're talking about). However, I want people to be aware that even if you haven't personally seen it, this is a line of rhetoric that has old deep roots in ridiculing anyone who violates cishet norms in their personal or fannish life. And look, I used a fandom/writing post as an example because that's what came across my dash first, but there are legitimately people calling gay trans men "fujos" for loving other men. This is not just a fandom issue, but the least we can do is not give it fandom airtime.
I'm blurring out usernames and the like because I don't know this guy, he seems like the sort of asshole I don't want on my blog, and I'm not writing this as a callout or something. I'm writing this to illustrate how people (even people inside the queer community) talk about specifically trans men, so that people can be more aware of falling into prey to certain logical fallacies or lending power to transphobes.

What's ur take on th amazon prime middle earth show atm? Thoughts, feelings about the new rumours/news?
I was going a little spare about it in my discord server, let me try and tie all these thoughts down for you. Also to be CLEAR... I'm going to pretend that these 'leaks' are things I believe will happen rather than published by TOR ie, dubious at best. Here's a link to the article anon's talking about.
So, first off, the tolkien estate is apparently happy with the production... I have to file this under what will become quite a well populated reaction box 'that sounds good but it makes me nervous also'. I'm very glad Priscilla likes it though, that's still good to know.
Next, Amazon has SOME Silm and unfinished tales rights... This probably worries the silm fandom far more than it worries me, but in terms of the production itself it seems very positive to me. I mean god... how else would they have... made the show... Like they'd have had to rename kings and straight up ignore plot points without it. AND YET I am actually still surprised. I suppose I shouldn't be, there's quite a lot of moving and shaking since Christopher died and I was always pretty sure he was the one keeping it all under lock and key. And considering the Nature of Middle Earth book is coming out now too with rumoured withheld letters and such, it seems the remaining holders are more lenient with the property rights.
There's a hilarious section where the article is like 'hm it might be that the show will span multiple sections of time' and I'm like well... it'll be a fuckin narrow as hell show if it doesn't... I dont think a single narrative ends in less than 100 years. The part about the dwarves, elves and humans having their own separate production units is interesting but I dont think I know enough about how tv making works to know what that says about the show. But what TOR suggests in the article, an anthology of POV's, would be pretty cool and was more in line with what I originally wanted it to look like. Did this make me a LEETLE excited? Maybe, but I can't acknowledge that yet.
The fake production team shooting fake shots is just funny, like you're using the money this way? Please... it wont be so bad if we see leaked images of shooting I promise I swear.
Lenny Henry as a harfoot is like... LIKE... this is definitely very excellent. I'm a little concerned that all the actors of colour will be relegated to just the hobbits, but I'm actually just a little too excited about seeing wandering hobbits and ALSO HAHA! Now @penny-anna has to watch the show >:3
Tom Budge... who WAS celebrimbor... Like.. I have been umming and arring over this, I go from 'god no' to '.. eh? maybe I see your point?' but in general I still feel like there were more dramatic and enigmatic choices that could have been made for casting such a character. However celebrimbor should have a moustache I think, so, maybe. Still not psyched about this vision of Celebrimbor as far as casting goes.
this is just straight up terrifying. Although it's still funny to me how the entire tolkien mega community saw JRRT say 'actually I was wrong the first time, orcs aren't elves they're corrupted early humans' and they all replied with the [I respect the council has made a decision nick fury.meme] But no seriously... what the fuck, go back to the sex having.
It's absolutely gruelling to me that the major elf debate we're at is 'can elves have short hair', like ok... I do want elves with short hair but that is not the major elf portrayal issue I want discussed here boys. When I say 'can elves be not-white' I want you to say 'yes, here they are'. Still, I do want to see elves with short hair.
And finally absolutely DELIGHTED to know I wont have to suffer Annatar in season 1. I get respite before the angbang bloggers descend on the tags.
IN GENERAL (still pretending I believe all these leaks, which I don't) This is all... encouraging... some of it's worrying and I'm jumpy about it but I would.. I would like an anthology... with a raft of perspectives, timelines and plots... this is what I was wanting when they talked about 'rivalling game of thrones' so... now we gotta wait for mid-2022 I guess... God I think Alecto the Ninth is coming out then too, I'm so beset.

Ml prompts (salt edition)
As I promised, this are just some of the plots for fics that I been thinking, a few for a while, others today or this week. Not all of them involve Lila, and even in those she’s not always the focus (Not all of them can be considered ‘salt’ exactly, while others can be labeled as ‘actions have consequences’).
In case anyone want to use them this are the rules (I can made them since this are my ideas):
First of all I want to be tagged for the original idea.
No OOC or bashing of any character (except Gabriel).
No Alya salt unless it’s minimum and only if she’s redeemed at the end. She already gets more than enough hate from the fandom.
Other than that, please refrain of using any of the tropes mentioned in this post:
Max has a crush on Lila, that’s why he keeps believing everything she says (I thought this long before the twitter comment; besides it says that Max’s asexual, not aromatic).
Kim wants to be supporting since she’s his best friend’ first love, even if he doesn’t believe all of her tales (he’s not ruining his chances to become an Olympic medalist following a training regimen that Lila insist ‘was created for my great uncle, a platinum medalist’).
Alix’s getting sick of Lila, if she wanted to hear some self-insert bad fanfic she would spend more time with her brother.
Juleka wants to believe Lila and follows her advices about 'how to be a good model’ until her family intervenes.
After getting several comments complaining of how the Ladyblog’s really unorganized, Alya finally decide to create a side blog (Miracutales) for all the fan-arts and fanfics links her followers keep sending her, and with Nora’s help she spends a whole afternoon fixing her blog. When Lila’s finally exposed the blogger freaks out until her sister comments “Wait, that interview? I send it to your fanfic blog ages ago”.
Lila going on and on to Mylene about a movie actor the other admires, how they’re 'like this’ and that 'I can introduce you to him, he thinks of me as his niece’. Meanwhile the rainbow haired girl’s just nodding with a forced smile while the Italian keep spewing bullshit about her favorite theater actress.
Nino barging into Marinette’s room dragging his little brother, saying that she needed to watch over him on his place since he has a date with Alya. Cue to Alya clearing her throat from the other side of the room, where they were working on a school project.
Lila stole Nathaniel’s sketchbook the day before an important meeting and hid it in Marinette’s locker. Ignoring almost the whole class insistence that she didn’t do it, that anyone could’ve put it in there since there’s no locks, he grabbed her own sketchbook from her bag and ripped it into pieces to everyone’s horror. Marc saw this and he’s akumatized; once it’s all over he still ends their partnership*
*Although cruel, I don’t believe that this is so out of character for Nathaniel. He already has proven to have serious anger issues in Reverser and Evilustrador (While I don’t hold him responsible for what he did under Gabriel’s control, comparing him to other akumas wanting to get revenge of Chloe it’s worrying how much pleasure he seemed to find while tormenting her).
Adrien keep blowing off plans to hang out with his friends to go away as Chat Noir, using the excuse that his father keep adding things to his schedule. One day after he canceled once again, saying that he has a last minute photo shoot, the boys are hanging out in the park where they cross with Vincent. He tells them that he’s the only photograph that Gabriel Agreste trust to work with his son, and that Mr. Agreste was away on a trip for the weekend so Adrien’s schedule was pretty much free until his father came back.
It’s election time again and the Mayor’s opposition has a new slogan: “If he can’t even control his daughter, how can we trust him to protect this city best interest?”
Someone as a joke proposed Xavier Ramier (Mr. Pidgeon) as Mayor. He won.
Felix GV returns and once again pretends to be his cousin. He’s dragged into a photo shoot with Lila; he may be a bastard who hates his uncle and he may be annoyed with Adrien but he still has standards.
With the end of the school year near Alya’s just relieved that since they’ll start Lycée they wouldn’t have to deal with Chloe and Bustier (with her fairytales for assignments) ever again. Until a conversation with Marinette.
“What do you mean we would have Bustier again next year? We’re done with Francoise Dupond! She was your teacher for five years in a row*?! That woman is an ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER??!”
*Until Chat Blanc Marinette’s been in Chloe class for five years now, at least four of them with Bustier according to picture’s day. Their class’ in middle school a.k.a three years so…well, that explains a lot about her teaching methods.
Marinette decides to let go of her crush on Adrien (not bashing), and with Alya supporting her choice (even if she doesn’t totally agree with giving up) Rose becomes the new captain of the Adrienette ship; trying to get them together against her friend wishes.
After discovering Hawk Moth’s identity Marinette decides she’ll never be like him and toss aside her dream of be a famous fashion designer. She either finds a new dream or simply opens just a small store away from the spotlight, with sporadic commission for people she’s close to.
At last, I like to call this section’s “Responsible Adults (Are trying their best)”
Marinette doesn’t know every celebrity under the sun, only Jagged, Nadja and maybe Clara. Gina Dupain, world traveler extraordinary, however has a rare gift when it comes to meeting new people by chance without knowing who they are*.
(“I sat beside this guy once in a plane, he was such a charming young man. Here, there’s a pic” “Nonna that was *insert celebrity here*!” “Who?”)
*This in the only kind of celebrity insert I would aprove.
Surprise inspection from the French educational department (whatever it’s called), some heads are going to roll.
Officer Raincomprix at first was happy that Sabrina stopped hanging out with Chloe and made a real friend; then he realized that this girl was even worse than the Mayor’s daughter.
The school nurse accidentally cause an international affair after calling the Italian Embassy asking why the Ambassador’s daughter didn’t have the proper vaccines for all the travels she keep claiming to have made.
After seeing Nathalie faint in the middle of a car drive, a worried Gorilla brings her to the ER. While checking her vitals (she’s still unconscious) a nurse accidentally knocks her brooch out of her coat, and while putting it back a strange creature materialize in front of them.
“Any of you has Ladybug in speed dial?”
One of the Agreste servants (let’s be honest, how else would that place stay clean) discovers Hawk Moth secret lair.
“I don’t get paid enough for this”.

IronStrange Starter Kit - Master Fic Rec List for all Y’all Because You’ve been Asking and I’ve been Avoiding
Hi! All you anons and askers, I made a list!!! Hopefully some of these are what you’ve been after. :D
(Please reblog this, lol, I spent too much time on it...)
General rules: These are complete unless indicated otherwise, and end happily unless indicated otherwise. There’s a variety of ratings, as I have no qualms against smut, but I don’t usually read it outside of a larger plot. So I don’t think there’ll be many explicit stories on here. Word counts vary; I indicate general length but don’t go into specifics. What else, uh... Bold stuff is the headers and general subjects. I link the titles. Block quotes are author summaries. Enjoy!!
-
Okay so first off, there are a couple of Fandom Staples who just have leagues worth of good short stories, and if you haven’t read them, then definitely treat yourself to the array:
A Thousand Futures of Me and You - VisionaryGalaxy (Vishanti, what a legend, ily so much). This is a series of unconnected one-shots, each their own and covering a variety of tropes and moments and themes and AUs. They’re so fun (and/or painful and/or thought-provoking and/or tense and/or sexy)! In-character and amazing, consistantly.
Prompt Collection - amethyst-noir (Arbonne). (Also a legendary human). This is exactly what it sounds like: a series of prompt fills in all sorts of tones. You’ll almost certainly find something here that feels like it was just made for you!
Alright, onto the individual stories and series!
Long fics/series:
The of overqualified hands and pi figures series - lantia4ever. (This was my first Ironstrange story, and it is no less magical now.)
A series of one-shots, all set in the same alternate verse in which Tony and Stephen first meet following the events of the first Avengers and then continue to meet after that throughout the canon up until Infinity War and eventually beyond it. Becoming friends - and more along the way.
Time After Time - fancylances. (I love love LOVE this one. Highly recommended.)
Tony Stark is unstuck in time. Stephen Strange might just be the only person in the universe qualified enough to help.
Citizen Erased - Imagined. (This author. Just... such a wonderful, talented, stunning person who makes wonderful, talented, stunning works. This story is masterful.)
What do you do when no one in the world ever manages to remember you?
Anyone who sees Tony Stark promptly forgets he ever existed after mere seconds. When everyone he has ever cared about has lost their memories of him, he goes to Stephen Strange, possibly the only one who can help him lift the curse. But a terrifying danger is coming, and saving the world isn’t an easy job to do when no one can remember who you are.
if only the gods had mercy on us and it’s sequel a soul too deep - orphan_account. (Vishanti, this series... It’s so beautiful and emotional and heart-breaking and heart-warming. And it has so few views for so many words! One of my absolute favorites, VERY highly recommended.)
Tony Stark loved Stephen Strange. He loved him more than anyone could ever imagine. But then a terrorist group attacked the convoy. Then there was a car accident. In the middle of it all, there is tired, battered love. (And, maybe, a little bit of genius)
From the Top - lucifersfavoritechild. (Everyone reads this fic. Written by the blogger Monarch Of The Ironstrange Ship, it’s an MCU rewrite around the relationship. Very fun.)
“Stephen, if you’re . . . there somewhere . . . when I drift off, I’ll be with you again. I can’t wait.”
|| Personally, I think the MCU would be much better as a love story between Stephen Strange and Tony Stark. Don't you?
Starting from Iron Man, and going all the way to Endgame, with all the appropriate stops in between. Let's take it from the top.
UNFINISHED: Skin Deep - Mystical_Magician. (Super cool premise, and super interesting to read! The dynamic here is very fun.)
A battle that should have finally killed Stephen instead launches him into a parallel universe. Exhausted from centuries as Sorcerer Supreme, he chooses instead to explore this new world in any animal form except human. Having hoped for peace at last, he can't stand to be looked up to, to be responsible for others, to have the world on his shoulders.
If he'd hoped to avoid excitement, however, he really should have stayed away when he noticed an enormous explosion and a falling metal suit of armor as he passed through Afghanistan.
UNFINISHED: The End of Infinity - FriendlyNeighborhoodFangirls. (Self rec. Very long, very slow-burn. Canon-compliant Endgame fix-it. I’m trying so hard, lol.)
In 2023, the battle for the universe has been won. At a cost no one can forget, the fight is over—for all but one. Stephen Strange has an idea. An impossible idea spanning dimensions and timelines, life and death, and the lines of good and evil. But he's played impossible odds before—perhaps he never stopped.
All that Loki wanted was to fight, one last time, for the fate of his universe. So when he finds himself fighting for another, crashing into the past, he has a few intended words for the wizard that forced him there. But not before he finds a boy. Or, more accurately, before the boy finds him.
Peter Parker had been waiting for the next mission. He just doesn't expect it to come from the future, armed with a ridiculous story demanding a ridiculous quest. And he doesn't expect not to be able to tell Mr. Stark.
Tony Stark is trying to rebuild from the Civil War, knowing that someday, something will come that he needs to be ready for. And he doesn't know it yet, but two universes are trying to rebuild around him, and that something is already here.
Seven Stones. Five dead. Two universes. And one impossible quest to tie it all back together.
UNFINISHED: Sunrise in Exile - Ragdoll (Keshka). (Another fandom favorite! And for good reason. This is really really good!)
Tony does the math and realizes their best chance to save the universe is by... not confronting Thanos on his own turf.
So he steals a wizard and a spider and a space ship. And he runs.
(Three humans and an A.I in space, the alien friendships they make along the way, and discovering how science and magic might coexist in a universe where they can be one and the same.)
Shorter plotty ones:
Out of Suffering - Mystical_Magician. (So this author??? THIS AUTHOR??? Very very good, much yes, very good.)
Stephen Strange does not like people, but 14,000,605 lifetimes of fighting and dying alongside this small group have worn down his walls. He likes them, gods help him. He might even consider them friends. It’s really for the best that they all go their separate ways once Thanos has been defeated. In their eyes, he’s barely even an acquaintance.
Now if only Tony and Peter would stop surprising him.
moros - spookykingdomstarlight. (Almost got a spot in the angst section. Very good).
There were fourteen million universes Stephen had birthed into existence and let die and, in far more than he cared to count, the visitor standing before him had become something… dear.
Shaking is Caring - mariadperiad20. (This is just STUNNING. Highly loved.)
5 times Stephen's hands would shake, +1 time they didn't.
It's Kinda Chalky - DestielsDestiny. (This one’s pretty short, but definitely worth it.)
You can live an entire lifetime by looking into someone’s eyes. His sister used to say that all the time. Stephen never gave it much thought back then. These days, he can think of little else.
Something Magic - Imagined. (Beautiful!)
There is only ever one rule that matters:
do not fall in love with the enemy.
An Idiotic Theory - FriendlyNeighborhoodFangirls. (Self rec! I tried to be funny.)
His wizard has been cursed, again, and Tony's already used up his luck for the day.
(Stephen says it's not a curse. He says Tony's whole daily-allotted karma-based luck theory has minimal merit, citing the fact that Tony had come up with it while he was drunk.)
Tony really should have saved his miracle.
Love Through Time - babywarg (morphaileffect). (I love this one. It sticks with you.)
Tony discovers an old drawing of, and finally remembers, his invisible friend Stephen from when he was a child.
Alternates - doobler. (Super cool!)
After being punked by a lowbrow magician, Stephen finds himself falling through doors to otherwordly dimensions. How will he ever get home?
132 - 28ghosts. (Soulmate AU! Very fun, incorporates Stephen’s time-loop with Dormammu.)
Ninety-nine point eight percent of humans have a soulmate mark that tells them the age their soulmate will be when they meet them. Tony Stark has a mark. It's just that his is...different than most people's.
(Or: six people who aren't Tony Stark's soulmate, and one who is.)
and when the world falls (I will fall with it) - HeavenChild. (Another multichap soulmate AU. Absolutely lovely.)
Tony will give anything to those he loves.
People will take everything he gives before leaving him in shambles.
Rhodhey, Pepper and Vision have had enough.
Or the five times Tony had his heart broken and the one time he didn't.
i saw the end of the world - JumpToConclusions. (Why has no one read this fic??? It’s so good!!! Stephen knows the future since he saw it on Titan, and things grow more complex from there.)
Tony and Strange are trying to make this work, this being remaking The Avengers. ...And maybe they'll stumble into something else along the way.
Tiresome heart, forever living and dying - Mystical_Magician. (R e a d t h i s p l e a s e. The mythology is so cool and the symbolism is so beautiful and the prose is so satisfying. One of my absolute faves.)
As a fledgling crane, Stephen was too curious for his own good, and it was this curiosity that led to Eugene Strange finding and stealing away his feather robe. Trapped in human form, cruelly forged into the perfect son, not even his father's death freed him when his robe was so well hidden. He only managed to break his father's mold after breaking completely in the aftermath of his accident, and slowly gluing those broken pieces back together at Kamar-Taj, but not even magic could find what had been hidden. Enter Tony, after the defeat of Thanos.
Fluffy ones:
From The Outside - Live. (Hilarious.)
Being a sentient life-form surrounded by humanity can be hard. Especially when said humans just can't admit their feelings for each other.
Sleeping Iron Man - Golden_Asp. (Another fun one. Perfect balance of ridiculousness with a touch of angst to make it interesting.)
Stephen Strange stared at the Avengers on his doorstep, Tony Stark flung over Steve Rogers' shoulder like a sack of potatoes. "He touched something, didn't he?" "Yuup." or The one where Tony touches Sleeping Beauty's spindle, is put into an enchanted sleep, and everyone, even Rocket Raccoon, take their turn kissing him. But Tony only has one prince charming.
Doctor Ob(li)vious - lantia4ever. (One of my very favorites. So cute.)
Stephen starts getting some weird looks from the Avengers, spanning across disturbed, confused and even scared all the way to curious. He dismisses it at first until weird turns into knowing.
And knowing turns into realizing...even if the scheming teenagers had to all but paint it on the walls for him to do so. Oh wait...
Applied Combinatorics in Two-Player Games - 28ghosts. (Short and fun and full of snark.)
After a battle, Tony Stark and Stephen Strange argue about games.
-
“Chess is not a solved problem.”
“Has been since ‘97, Kasparov versus Deep Blue. Kasparov, 1; Deep Blue, 2; three draws.”
“Chess is a game, not a problem.”
The Courtship of Peter Parker's Father (Figures) - flyingonfeatherlesswings. (Peter plays matchmaker! Adorable.)
Peter couldn't stand to sit by while Tony and Stephen danced around each other any longer. Something had to be done.
Speaking Eyes - Vrishchika. (Not Steve Friendly. Tony is amazing in this. And Stephen is so fantastically dramatic.)
Tony has always had expressive eyes.
The Signs of Sleep Deprivation - FriendlyNeighborhoodFangirls. (Another self-rec. <3)
"Tony said to put the potato in the dishwasher, so that's what I did."
Sometimes, Avengers just show up to say hi. Sometimes, they all show up at once, and Tony makes an party out of it. Sometimes, he invites the snarky, oblivious, somewhat insecure wizard because, and Peter quotes: "everyone else is coming".
Sometimes, something needs to be done.
Show Me Your Scars (And I'll Show You Mine) - Imagined. (Adorable. Lovely. Imagined does it again.)
The worst part is that Stephen keeps tucking his hands away, just as Tony wants to hold them. He keeps hiding them, surreptitiously, no matter what they’re doing. It’s only when Tony kisses Stephen, or hugs him, that he feels the hands settle on his back, uncertain, ready to pull back within seconds.
It only makes him want to cuddle up to Stephen even more, but he backs away, not sure if it’d be welcome.
Promise? Promise. - sharonscarters. (AU, kidfic, absolutely adorable.)
A four year old Tony Stark runs away from home and finds his Guardian Angel.
What The Doctor Ordered - wakandan_wardog. (Post CW. Kind of not Rogues friendly? So fun, makes me smile. I re-read this one a lot.)
The Rogue Avengers are called back to New York because the heavy hitters are going to be needed against Thanos. Of course, there are some truths that Steve Rogers will need to accept sooner rather than later. Tony Stark has moved on and Stephen Strange will not suffer fools lightly.
Hurt/Comforty ones:
Among The Chaos of The Stars (You're My Safe Harbour) - ShootMeDead. (Oh my vishanti. OH MY VISHANTI. So so so so SO good.)
Stephen has always been able to hear the stars. Tony is the only one who can silence them.
each night like a white noise frequency - Phierie. (I ADORE THIS FIC. OKAY. I LOVE IT. READ IT.)
Stephen is no stranger to making hard choices. He doesn’t regret his actions on Titan, but months later they weigh on his mind heavier than ever; the cracks begin to show.
Just An Accident - CucumbersInGold. (I really like fics with Stephen’s hands and the difficulties thereabout. Idk, just one of my favorite things. This is beautiful).
Stephen's hands act up.
Learning, Unlearning - Caaaaaaas. (More character study than anything else. Really good.)
Whatever Stephen wanted with life, life just didn’t seem to know what to do with him.
In which Stephen learns and unlearns some very important lessons.
your eyes have their silence - doctortwelfth. (Oh look it’s another scars fic. I told you I liked them.)
Tony is gentle with Stephen’s hands even when Stephen forgets to be.
Burning Lines Into The Snow - petroltogo. (Not very Steve friendly. Short and sweet.)
Post CW: It's not just the team that's so broken they are barely able to comprehend how many parts they're missing now, how many have been ripped and twisted and torn. It's Tony as well, right down to the core, the damage so far-reaching even he doesn't know how to fix it.
And then there's Strange, who has his own way of covering the cracks.
Old Bones - CJtheWeeb. (Owch. Dumb geniuses trying to be invulnerable.)
Sometimes Stephen Strange has great days, where he was nearly pain free and his hands still enough to where he could pick up a cup of water and barely spill a drop.
Today was not one of those days.
something taken, something new - meowrails. (So in-character. The premise was a little off to me, but I’m so glad I decided to read this one. I really really like this fic.)
The ChronicConnection implement and app allows a person that lives with chronic or illness-induced pain to transfer their burden temporarily to a willing loved one.
Tony and Stephen sign up as beta testers.
Angsty ones (happy ending unless otherwise mentioned):
day one - days4daisy. (THIS IS SO GOOD OKAY IF YOU READ NOTHING ELSE ON THIS LIST READ THIS).
Three days in Stark Tower. Stephen must be in bad shape if he just agreed to this.
His Merlin - babywarg (morphaileffect). (This author keeps showing up on this list because they are A LEGEND. A LEGEND I TELL YOU.)
As a child, Tony imagined himself a Knight of the Round Table. Little did he know he would grow up to be a king. And that he would have a wizard by his side to lead him to either glory or destruction.
there is no heart for me like yours - turtle_abyss. (Soulmate AU! Wonderful. <3)
Being able to feel your soulmate - a phantom touch, a bone-deep awareness - is a divine torture. To know, but not see. To seek, but not find. To feel someone holding your hand and not be able to hold theirs.
Grace - StrangeMischief. (*cries in beautiful fic* Happy ending!)
“Pain’s an old friend.”
Us...Me - StrangeMischief. (This will hurt you. So melancholy. Pepper and Tony live their life, and Tony remembers. Not a happy ending.)
“I don’t believe in happily ever after.”
One-Thousand Cranes - FriendlyNeighborhoodFangirls. (Self rec, sorry. Hopeful ending.)
After it all, a man with shaking hands makes a wish.
courtesy - deathofglitter. (Dealing with the fourteen-million futures. So good.)
Stark looked at him like he looked at the amulet that rested on his chest like a steady promise - dutiful, a bit burdened, and trying to hold a profound lack of personal emotion whatsoever, still personal enough to protect as anyone would a precious object.
La Douleur Exquise - BananasofThorns, StrangeMischief. (More pain. Pepper and Tony, and Stephen watching and trying not to wish. Very good, no happy ending.)
The before was easy. There were fewer boxes in their minds and no chains around their hearts. There was no hurt. No tears. No dreams.
But those days were long gone.
Stigmata - babywarg (morphaileffect). (AU! Soulmates again. Very interesting, beautifully done.)
Since Stephen was little, mysterious wounds have appeared and disappeared on his body, leaving mysterious scars. His mother says it's because he's one of a Pair, and he's absorbing pain meant for someone else.
*wipes brow* PHEW! That gotta a little more in-depth than I first intended... Have fun, my MysticIron friends. Happy quarantine.

So because I still follow a couple of people from the old SPN community I used to be a part of (that Destiel meta community, you know the one I'm sure), I'm finally starting to see the drama that's going on in that community now. And holy crapola! That community is practically imploding on itself. I'm so glad that I burned those bridges when I did, when I recognized those bloggers for the toxic, petty people that they are. When I started speaking my opinions on how I viewed that section of the meta community, some people didn't like that I did that and they went on this huge blocking spree. Blocking me and blocking anyone who liked my posts which I thought was kind of petty, afterall, I had never gone to them and attacked them or had been anything less than the pinnacle of politeness. All I did was post my honest opinions one time about how I felt and I thought I was very nice and polite about what I was trying to say, I've definitely seen people say worse to them. I definitely didn't think it was something that warranted their attention, after all, who am I to these people? They run blogs that probably have hundreds of followers and I'm running a blog that sits on a merry 200 followers (and it was even less than 200 at that point, we're talking like maybe 100 followers if even that). I'm a nobody to them, why on earth would they care about the things I have to say especially since I rarely ever engaged in conversation with them? It just seemed super petty and toxic to me and maybe passive bullying but then I thought about it some more and I thought I could chalk it up to maybe just them having a bad day, getting sick of fandom mildew and all that crap but ultimately, I was happy to see them go, I was happy I wouldn't have to see their posts on my dashboard that more often than not, typically made me angry. And with them out of my life is what paved the way for a much more happy and fulfilling fandom experience. Sometimes I was sad because they would occasionally write some meta I was interested in reading but whatever, I got over it and said what's done is done. But now that I'm starting to see what's happening with this community now, I'm realizing I absolutely made the right choice in saying what I did and reacting the way I did. I didn't try to fix things with these people as I usually have a tendency to do (I don't like having people angry with me so I typically do try and mend fences when fences are broken). My gut feeling was that these are people I shouldn't associate with and I'm so glad I went with that guy feeling. I'm so glad that something in me saw these people for the toxic, petty bullies that they are and I jumped ship when I did.
And all this happening over a dumb Warner Bros tv show that has always had uneven writing. I get people are passionate in fandom, as am I, but come on, really, is this show worth all this drama and in-fighting, and bullying? Is the ship worth all of this?

Meet the Authors: Juri!
1) What's your name?
Juri was the nickname I was gifted on here. My full username is JurassicRaptorCat. Im also known as TJ!
2) Who are you?
The co-author of Sepnautical. Uuuh. I'm just a blogger here on Tumblr stumbling her way through fandoms.
3) How did Septnautical start?
From pain. No seriously I was getting ready for kidney stone surgery cause one had blocked up my kidney and Huffle drew Jackie as a reaper and I flipping loved it so I messaged her asking what the other boys would be and we both plotted and planned from there. If you saw those beginning notes of Septnautical you'd be astounded at how much has changed. Huffle only found out later that I was high as a kite off of painkillers from surgery. It was an entertaining conversation.
4) Who's your favorite Septnautical boy?
Crap. Um. I LOVE THEM ALL! I think I would have to maybe choose Schneep in the end. He’s such a perfect boy in this AU.
5) What was your favorite story to write?
Sound of Silence by far was my favorite story to write. Just gah! I'm sorry Jamie but your pain was needed. And with one of my favorite creatures in Septnautical to! I listened to Crabsquid sounds on repeat the entire time I wrote that story. Trust me it was a trip.
6) What is your favored genre to write?
I actually kinda prefer adventure stories. I don't know but something about writing that is the best to me. Of course fluff is a close second. Helps balance out Huffle with her angst.
7) What are some strengths of yours in writing?
Hm I'd have to say some strengths I have are speaking sections. They're something I've always struggled with and beginning of 2018 I decided I was gonna work to improve them. I feel like I've come a long way in terms of that.
8) What are some weaknesses?
Definitely scene building. I really need to work on that and having characters convey emotion without outright saying it. It's a long road to improvement but heck if I did it my speaking scenes I can do it for this!
9) How has Sepnautical impacted you?
I've met so many great people! I dabbled in puzzles. Its helped my writing and creativity! It's slightly helping with my phobia of the ocean. Yeah that's a thing...the co-author of Septnautical has a major fear of the ocean….
But I’m really proud of how far this blog has come! It’s like a huge milestone for both Huffle and I. Like look at our little baby blog all grown up and holding a whump ton of angst in it! I couldn’t be prouder!
10) Any hints for us about upcoming projects for Sepnautical?
We have a whole new arc for the boys planned out so keep an eye out! I'm also gonna dust off and eventually bring back Breakwater once I figure out a better plot for it. Poor thing didn’t get enough love from me that it deserved but I have some ideas for it to bring it back better than ever! Huffle and I are talking about a few other smaller projects in the works so expect lots of lovely things in the future!

Most interactions celebrities have with their fans is through media and social media.
My point being: A fan didn’t decry Brie Larson to her face. What happened is that Brie Larson read news online, looked at what was trending on Twitter (note: the ‘top’ section is curated), was asked a question by the media on fan behaviour. What she saw was fans being well, toxic.
The media holds more power in this situation than Brie or fans. They can twist any narrative or story as they wish to provoke a ‘headline’ reaction. Thus, they don’t tell Brie Larson of the many fans she has, or how Captain Marvel was heavily promoted and talked about on Tumblr. Instead, they read the worst of the worst comments on IMDB. That’s why you get creators saying ‘fandom is toxic’- although they should be smart enough to figure out they are being baited by the media.
I don’t want to become a conspiracy theorist- but I think the biggest competitors to established media are YouTubers and bloggers. You know, independent entertainment journalists. They are who mainstream media are now competing with.
Whilst I think fans and creators have a responsibility to be civil and respectful- I do believe that the traditional media can make things seem worse. We need to start seeing the media as an ‘interlink’ between us ordinary humans and the ‘elite.’ It will help us understand Silicon Valley and Hollywood a lot better.
