i feel like i have been surprisingly productive lately!! i want to get the songfic finished so i can get back to work on Mix Ink with Water/Prohibition Fic. on top of that, i have something else that actually isn’t klaine but that’s gonna be a secret for a bit (although @backslashdelta may know what it is from our dms lol)

here’s another small section of the songfic that i wrote yesterday! it’s probably gonna be edited some before i officially post it! not 6 sentences bc it never is

Blaine let out a whine that endeared Kurt in a way that it probably shouldn’t have. He was just so enamored with this man that everything he does has some effect on Kurt. He thought that Blaine would continue to protest, but surprisingly enough, he begrudgingly conceded. “It’s just that we’ve almost been together a year. It’s been awhile since I’ve had a relationship last this long, so I’m just a bit anxious is all. I don’t want to ruin a good thing here.”

At Blaine’s words, Kurt softened, his hand sliding from Blaine’s hair to instead cup his cheek. “You’re not going to ruin anything. I love you, so it’ll take a whole lot more than a couple of little screw ups to push me away.”

The hand on his hip squeezed affectionately and Kurt could see a softness in Blaine’s eyes. “And I…” Blaine began, holding Kurt’s gaze with a steady gentleness. Kurt could feel himself holding his breath, awaiting to hear what Blaine says — what he hopes Blaine says. Please, please, please just say it. “… I adore you, Kurt.”

I adore you. Adoration is lovely, but it wasn’t what he wanted to hear. It was not the words that Kurt was internally begging Blaine to say. They were close, certainly, but they simply did not carry the same weight. Not when Kurt offered his love on a silver platter every single day and sometimes felt as if he had very little to show for it.

I was tagged by @kurtsascot and I have three projects I'm currently working on, but one of them I can't share because spoilers. But I'll share a little from the other two.

The first one is the second part of I Will Give The World To You, my Klaine Secret Santa gift. The second part is going to focus a lot more on Kurt's son Christian and his relationship with both Kurt and Blaine.

“I’m just scared, that one day, I’m gonna die. And he won’t care.” Blaine’s heart stopped. “Christian,” he breathed, “of course he would care. He’d care so much. It would absolutely devastate him to lose you.” “You don’t know him,” Christian said, shaking his head. “You don’t know… he doesn’t talk about them. Any of them.” “Who doesn’t he talk about?” Blaine prodded. “Anyone he knows who’s dead. His mom, his brother, Pops. Once they’re dead he just acts like he never knew them to begin with.” “Kurt had a brother?” Blaine asked.

And the second one is the second chapter of like it hasn't been forever, my season 4 Seblaine rewrite. This chapter will be largely inspired by the quote "The line between naïveté and Hopefulness is almost invisible" from Epic the Musical.

They didn’t talk outside of the coffee shop. They never confirmed that the other would be there the next day. They simply both showed up. Plausible deniability. A coincidence. Even when their conversations diverged from Sebastian helping Blaine with his French and Blaine helping Sebastian with his calculus, they ignored the implications. The possibility that they were moving from tutors, study buddies, acquaintances who shared a table at a coffee shop.  They both pretended that they weren’t becoming friends again. Like that was a bridge burned long ago that could never be fixed. As though they weren’t picking through the rubble together to find the foundation.

Ohhhh boy Liz you're gonna get me in trouble.

-I really, really do not like Brittney. She's a nothing character who only successfully provided comic relief and even that got boring after a while. She dragged down every character she dated, Santana included. Like Santana is SUCH an interesting, compelling character otherwise, but anytime she was paired against Brittney it was like everything that made Santana interesting was sanded down. I also don't think they're a healthy relationship either, but that's a whole other can of worms.

-Ugh. Blaine is such a whiny bitch. I think he only really became interested in Kurt when he realized Kurt fawned over him and Blaine really, really liked that attention. And then all their problems started when Kurt started to shine on his own, in New York and what not, and Blaine cheated and acted like it was Kurt's fault he cheated and Blaine would like...sort of flirt with Sebastian?? And was crushing hard on Sam but god forbid Kurt had another gay male friend. I just...yeah. No thanks.

-I wanted to like them more than I did. I just...like they get together in secret at the end of season 2 and then Sam's just gone the first half of season 3 and then it's like "oh they had this amazing romantic fling over the summer" but it's like okay where???? All the initial development happened completely offscreen. I remember there's this scene late in s3 where Klaine goes to couples counseling with Emma and she mentions how she helped Samcedes and Blaine goes "they broke up" and I was like broke up??? When did they get back together?? Like the show just completely glossed over that. I thought the way Sam ignored her wishes and kept chasing her in season 3 was kinda weird and then in season 5 he still hasn't regained all the braincells he lost by dating Brittney and it feels more like Mercedes is parenting him rather than that they're equals. I don't know...I think they could've been good, I just don't think the execution was really there.

Wait I wanna add a little more and say that samcedes don’t make sense to me as endgame the same way Finchel doesn’t make sense to me as endgame. With both couples, Rachel and Mercedes are super ambitious and have these big dreams and want these big lives which don’t gel at all with the much quieter lives Finn and Sam want for themselves.
