Unpopular Idea
I know this goes against the whole ethos of Game Changer, but hear me out:
Episode in which the players screw with Sam instead of the other way around.
Contestants would obviously be those who've been messed with the most on prior episodes - Brennan, Rekha, Grant and/or Jess.
The mechanic might be some variant on "If you get a point, you can make Sam do something" or a live version of Fluxx.
#game changer#sam reich#brennan lee mulligan#rekha shankar#grant anthony o'brien#jess ross#I just feel bad for them#even though I know they're getting paid#turnabout might be fun!#it'd be like one of those rare Twilight Zone episodes#where nothing bad happens and the twist is just that there's no weird twist#or those sitcom episodes where characters' paranoia is used against them#this is admittedly looping back around into traditional Game Changer tactics#but I stand by it#fluxx#if they wanted to keep it secret#the crew or other cast members could come up with prompts and/or mechanical details

As a committed Rekha stan I am DYING to know what character she would have made if her scheduling had worked out 🙏
Do you guys ever think about the fact that Beardsley was a last minute addition to the cast after Rekha turned it down? They weren’t even supposed to be in this show.
Think about how different this show would be without them, without their constant finale nat 20s. How many years has that decision shaved off of Brennan’s life do you think?

What a way to show off everyone's strengths as comedians and writers, too. Brennan, Katie, and Raph have distinct voices in their work that are largely informed and made unique by their own personalities. This makes them ideal first tier Bingo subjects/victims, due to their voices being distinct and distinctly different from one another.
(I wrote a way more thorough analysis of the structure and cast choices made for this episode. Whoops. More under the cut.)
At the Second level, we have Rekha, Trapp, and Lily. Unlike the first three, these three are all excellent at stepping back and prompting others. Brennan points out the Trapp is an excellent straight man. On Dirty Laundry, Lily consistently will listen and wait to send out little jabs that cut through the bits to keep things fresh. Rekha is a quick thinker and will oftentimes make a joke about how proud she is of a dumb joke, thereby simultaneously making a joke and joking about the joke. It's great.
Tier one Bingo players all have a tendency to commit and commit hard to what they do and say, to their own characters and schemes, whereas tier 2 takes one step back and will often times react to either their own jokes or take a broader look at what others have said. They are, to me, the clearest candidates for the jester in the king's court. Additionally, they all clearly have a fiendish streak that made them (a) perfect candidates to torture the first three and (b) ideal Bingo subjects/victims for the third tier of Bingo players.
At the Third tier, Jess, Tao, and Carolyn do not typically take on front-and-center stage characters. Tao I would categorize as a gracious dork. On Game Changer, he plays up his 'weaknesses' for laughs, or (in the case of Secret Samta) takes advantage of his weaknesses in order to pull the rug out from under everyone. I could say the same for Jess, which you can see clearly in the very first episode of game changer. Jess is also able to do and say otherwise embarrassing things with complete confidence. Carolyn is the only person on the third tier who I haven't seen very much of, but she's hot and funny so what else do you need?
Anyways, the third tier folk are all so incredibly deliberate about their choices and what they do and say. They take a look at all of the dominoes before deciding where exactly it is best to knock them down. This makes them well suited for their roles as prompters for what is presumed to be REAL LIFE. (i.e. the second tier are not aware that they are just as subject to Sam's mind games and the first tier. Their prompts all have to seem natural). Jess, Tao, and Carolyn are fantastically well suited to this. They are all willing to put themselves and others through awkward situations that are adjacent to real life scenarios, all for the bit. And they do it spectacularly.
In this way, not only is the show structured with tier one as set up, tier two as build up, and tier three as punch line, but also each cast of comedians within each tier is perfectly suited for that structure of joke. Brennan, Katie, and Raph are excellent at committing hard to a scenario (the set up). Trapp, Reha, and Lily are fantastic at building up tension and fleshing out that scenario (the build up). And Jess, Tao, and Carolyn were brilliant at subverting in the third act (the punchline).
I'd also like to point out that there's a relationship here with increasing material at each tier as well. All the first tier has to work with is the bingo game and what Sam gives them as prompts and encouragement. They fill in the rest with their character. The second tier thinks they have all of the material and therefore dismiss otherwise strange circumstances (Rekha on the apple box, the um actually box, Lily putting her foot up on the table). The third tier actually does have all of the material, and that material includes their own bingo games, everything that tier 2 is doing, and everything that tier 2 is reacting to on the game changer set.
Anyways, whoops wrote an essay.
TLDR: Gamechanger Bingo does an awesome job at showing off everyone's different skills in comedy. It's excellent. I love it.

Ratfish should have been a PA or a super fan or someone who has literally anything to do with Dropout but instead they said "our secret special guest is.... this fuckin guy!"
Sorry if some of yall know and like him, but his humor did nothing for me and tbh distracted from the cast chemistry in a way I don't think they intended.
Happy for Katie and Ally tho. Justice for Rekha and Jess.

rekha :(((( just to torture ourselves what kind of angsty scenario do you imagine would bring hanma to tears if he’s in a relationship with you? sobs or is it only the death of those few he cares about that can break a man like him :(((( bye i’m so sad over him now pls
content: fem!reader (feat. my selfship content), established marriage, papa! shuji, angst. accidental pregnancy. mention of not wanting kids, family-related insecurities. thank you for indulging me rivvy<3
note: ok listen! i've been thinking about this all day. shuji isn't much of a crier, but when he does cry, it's over the people he loves.
shuji always says to you that he doesn't wanna have kids. and hey, you're cool with that. you don't need kids to make a family and a home with him.
just the two of you is plenty enough<33
but you get one accidental pregnancy after the other, and you find yourselves with two or three kids that shuji ends up loving more than life itself.
he jokes to you every now and then about how he doesn't know why he was so apprehensive about the idea before.
he's so happy! he loves his little kids, they share his and your features so evenly, their bubbly giggling at his silly faces are so adorable, taking care of them is so fun and god, he's just so full of love and joy.
until he's painfully reminded of why he didn't want to have kids— when they grow older and their personalities start clashing with his.
as a father, shuji jumps from too easygoing to too overprotective real quick. he finds something like their secret cigarette stash, that they've been drinking at parties, or they miss a curfew or two and it gets him irrationally mad at them — and when shuji's angry, he yells </3
he's just concerned for his kids because he knows full well what a reckless, dangerous childhood is like. and while he wants to be the chill parent so bad, he gets scared sometimes.
and his fear for his kids' safety comes out as anger and yelling. and his kids take after him, so his anger only makes their tempers flare up — which often results in a shouting match between father and children.
and while shuji tries to stay kind, sometimes, his kids say the meanest things at him.
(credits to my gf for these lines btw! this is actually from my selfship 🤭) one time, shuji is trying to confiscate his son's phone and ground him for a bit for staying out of the house a whole day and night after a prior argument, and it goes like this ↓
“give me your phone”
“what the fuck, you're not serious- i'm a grown ass adult!”
“give me your phone. you're not fucking grown. you're grounded, and i'm keeping tabs on you from here on out. now hand it over or i swear to god, i will take it from you”
his tone is threatening enough, and your son has no choice but to hand over his phone and shuji shuts it down and pockets it.
your son hisses under his breath like “this is bullshit”
and shuji retorts with a “this is how being a parent is”
and then his son says, in the meanest tone he could muster— “yeah, because you and mom were sooo smart for having so many fucking kids while being world's most wanted.”
and for a tense moment, there's a silence before shuji just heads to the front door and his shoes on, takes helmet and jacket and storms out, slamming the door shut behind him. he drives somewhere like yokohama wharf and just. breaks down and cries. all by himself. imagine ;( </3
he lights himself a smoke for the first time in years, tears rolling down his cheek and hanging for a moment at his jaw before they fall and stain his jeans with tears, and he's just wondering if he's a good father at all in the end.
he cries and cries and cries— and when he finally comes home to you late at night after everyone else has gone to bed, his eyes are puffy and red, and his hair is dishevelled. he looks so sad.
and when you hold out your arms for a hug, this big, 6'6 (because he was 6'4 at age 16. he's grown at least a couple of inches since then!) tall man, smelling of cigarettes and tears in his leather jacket and ripped jeans just slumps into you, his wife that he loves so much and just wants to be good to.
he's silent as you lead him to bed and help him undress, and while you're in bed, wrapped up in eachother's arms under the blankets, he asks you in a raspy, hoarse whisper, “am i... am i a good father to the kids, baby?”
and god, you kiss him, kiss his forehead and his face and his hair and you tell him yes, yes shuji you're such a good father to our children, and you're so good to me! so good to me and so good to the kids, shuji. you're okay.
he can't help but cry again after he hears that. he cries quietly but he sobs out loud, body racking and shaking your shoulders along with his own each time he takes a ragged breath in.
shuji knows he's not a family man. but god, god he wants to be one so bad. he wants to be good, for you and for his children that he loves so fucking much. and it makes him cry, whenever his fear overtakes him and convinces him that he may not be enough.

‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Season 2 Finds Its Joo Dee, Long Feng, The Boulder and Casts ‘Sympathizer’ Star Hoa Xuande (EXCLUSIVE)
Netflix‘s “Avatar: The Last Airbender” live-action series has added eight actors to the cast of Season 2, Variety has learned exclusively.
The new cast members are: Chin Han (“Mortal Kombat,” “Skyscraper”), Hoa Xuande (“The Sympathizer,” “Top of the Lake: China Girl”), Justin Chien (“The Brothers Sun,” “The Great Leap”), Amanda Zhou (“Spinning Out,” “The Handmaid’s Tale”), Crystal Yu (“Doctor Who,” “Good Omens”), Kelemete Misipeka (“Sons of Thunder,” “Ray Donovan” ), Lourdes Faberes (“The Sandman,” “Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre”), and Rekha Sharma (“Yellowjackets,” “Battlestar Galactica”).
Han will play Long Feng, who was the leader of Ba Sing Se secret police, the Dai Li, in the animated Nickelodeon series. Xuande will play Professor Zei, head of the anthropology department at Ba Sing Se University in the original series who was obsessed with finding Wan Shi Tong’s Library.
Chien will play King Kuei, ruler of the Earth Kingdom. Zhou will play Joo Dee, a public servant and guide for important visitors in Ba Sing Se. Yu will play Lady Beifong, Toph’s mother. Misipeka will play The Boulder, a professional earthbending wrestler. Faberes will play General Sung, a high-ranking Earth Army commander. Sharma will play a new character named Amita.
It should be noted that the live-action version has already made several changes to individual characters as well as storylines, so these versions of the characters mentioned above may not correspond exactly to their counterparts in the original show.
The new additions join returning cast members Gordon Cormier, Kiawentiio, Ian Ousley, Dallas Liu, Elizabeth Yu, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Daniel Dae Kim, Momona Tamada and Thalia Tran. It was previously announced that Miya Cech will be joining the series as Toph Beifong.
“Avatar: The Last Airbender” is currently in production at Netflix in partnership with Nickelodeon. Netflix has already renewed the show through Season 3, concluding with the “Book of Fire” just like the animated version.
Jabbar Raisani and Christine Boylan are executive producers and showrunners on the series. Albert Kim, who developed the live-action version, also executive produces along with Dan Lin, Ryan Halprin, and Brendan Ferguson.

Umrao Jaan Ada: The Courtesan from Lucknow.
An Indian Classic Novel About Exploitation and Double Standards.
Considered by many to be the first Urdu novel, "Umrao Jaan Ada" was published in 1899. This novel narrates the life story of a courtesan and poet from 19th century Lucknow. It was penned by Mirza Hadi Ruswa, an Urdu language poet and writer known for his works in fiction and treatises, particularly on topics like religion, philosophy, and astronomy. Ruswa was a polyglot, proficient in several languages, including Urdu, Greek, and English.
Ruswa was born in Lucknow around the time of the 1857 'Indian Mutiny,' which marked a significant turning point not only in the lives of Princely States like Awadh (also known as Avadh or Oudh) but also in the history of India as a whole. According to the novel, Umrao Jaan's story was recounted by her to the author during a poetry gathering in Lucknow. However, the actual existence of Umrao Jaan is a subject of dispute among scholars. There are few mentions of her outside Ruswa's novel, although there are records of the existence of an Uttar Pradesh dacoit named Fazal Ali. British documents also mention a courtesan named Azizan Bai, who claimed to have been taught by Umrao Jaan.
Rekha as Umra Jaan Ada in the 1981 adaptation of the novel.
The dark secrets of mid 19th Century Lucknow.
Umrao Jaan Ada provides an intricate portrayal of mid-19th century Lucknow, depicting both its decadent and morally hypocritical society. Some argue that it serves as a metaphor for India itself—a nation that had long attracted numerous suitors, many of whom were only seeking to exploit her.
