I was hit with a small realization as I was just mending some holes in a sweater a friend gave to me. That yes, to be loved is to be changed. But also that to love is to break and wear, and to love is to fix time and time again.

You can fix a sweater until every strand and thread and fibre is different, but that sweater will always hold the memories. You will still think about how you sat there with a needle and thread to the hole you saw and thought "I can fix that".
