So I’m getting too old to stay up past midnight these days. Wishing all my lovely friends here a Happy New Year and may 2024 bring you all you hope for ❤️

sebastian vettel was a bastard. he was an absolute bastard and charles would let him know when he got back to HQ, that he was a fucking prick for setting charles up to fail like this. there was zero chance he didn’t.

“percival.” lando crackled over his in ear, shocking him from the absolute rage seething in his blood and into the current situation of sitting in front of him. “just make your escape, mate. we’ll reconvene and work out what to do next.”

charles hummed, his lips turning up as he looked back at the man in front of him, looking him over as if he was trying to appreciate the man in front of him and not attempting to calculate how he could get the fuck out of there. he mourned the work he had done for months to reel this man in, the hours spent sexting and sending digital nudes that he giggled over with lando just to get an in.

but this was obviously a failed honeypot plot and he just needed to cut his losses and use what he managed to glean from his suspect.

“ah, Mathieu.” he simpered, his lips turning into a slight pout. “i need to use the restroom, but i’ll be right back, love.” he tucked his napkin on the table, got up gracefully, and walked proudly to the bathroom, giving his hips just a little sway because he knew the other man was watching.

“charles.” great. max was also watching his absolute failure of a mission through his glasses. he loved his best friend but he didn’t love how he always managed to get the missions that didn’t involve fucking old men digitally to get secrets from them.

he was a kingsman and he was giggling his way through dinner with some millionaire who was supposedly involved in some high level trafficking scheme just to try and fuck him and gain access to his house.

turns out, even millionaires are lonely and some even just pay others tons of money to sext them and go to dinner. who would’ve known!

“merlin, why is agent tristen monitoring my stream? and not at home with his loving husband and cats?” he hissed through his teeth, his lips quirked down into a frown as he looked at them through his glasses, adjusting his suit as he wiggled out the bathroom window.

he’s the second youngest kingsman agent, second to only max himself and here he was: wiggling his hips through a bathroom window to escape his atrocious date. how high class and gentleman of him.

“well agent percival because—“ lando is cut off by max presumably smacking him before coming over his comm and saying “don’t worry about it.”

charles knew that max wanted to watch how bad this date would go, that asshole. using his shit missions as his own personal entertainment.

“when i get back and i’m done kicking seb’s ass, i’m kicking both of yours too.” he whispered, furiously tugging his smoking jacket down to proper level in the back alley of the restaurant.

-

“charles.” charles hated when sebastian used that tone of voice with him, like he knew better than him. he did, but it still made charles huff and get frustrated. “i didn’t set you up. i fully believed in your capacity to extract the information we needed. you already did. we just needed him to be tracked, but it would help if he had access to the information we need.”

charles crossed his arms tighter around him, lips pressed into a frown that he was willing to not turn into a pout. he wanted to protest that cases like these were below his pay grade and ability.

“seb.” he huffed “i spent months virtually making a relationship with this man because everyone assured me he had information we needed to access this ring. he is just a lonely old man who wanted company. the most he ever did was hire an escort who happened to be apart of this ring. i wasted months of my life on this project and now all everyone has to say is it’s a shame that he was a dud.” his pout came out, he couldn’t help it. he was better than these stupid little projects.

charles joined kingsman and fought to the top of his selection pool to be a spy and to save the world and help people. and here he was, honeypotting and getting nothing as a result while people like max were diffusing bombs and saving the world.

“that’s still valuable information gained, charles. that’s still information that helps us.” sebastian tried to calm him but he was worked up.

“why does max get to do all these interesting things and lando gets to be cool tech support and carlos is currently under cover as a fucking billionaire ambassador in brazil but i have to honeypot and sleep with old men for lousy information that we could’ve gained by so many other means?” charles rolled his eyes as he uncrossed his eyes and gestured to the men in question who were just outside the door, listening in to hear their spat.

“well-“ sebastian started, but charles cut him off, hissing “if you say i am the prettiest agent, you will not like my reaction.”

he finished with “you are the prettiest agent.”

charles yelled in frustration.

"We're looking for a man called Sebastian Greene. He traces back to 2020. Only recently unearthed, when the Prime Minister’s own assets were swindled.”

Lancelot waited for something—anything—to be shown on the framed projector in Kingsman's meeting hall, any semblance of their target, as the lack of a proper image would prove a difficult start to the mission. So when the screen only showed a generic, written character description, she was stumped; how well would she be able to single-out their target without a) making a mistake or b) wasting so much time?

"Our target is verified to be British, somewhere in the odd 40s to 50s. Reports say they would be a dark-haired man, grey-blue eyes, and is reported to reside here in London."

Still, a lead was a lead, and when the assignment was passed on to her, she needed to make sure of the circumstances.

"Yes, Arthur." Roxanne adjusted from her seat. "Do we have an idea of his whereabouts in the coming fortnight?"

"Negative. But there is a rise of criminal cases in Westminster as of late; the chances of our guy using this to his advantage may be highly likely."

She nodded at Arthur's command and worked for her preparations with Merlin, immediately embarking on her nightly activity of scouting the area for this… generic… British man.

The lack of activity when she began her stake-outs was monotonous enough, almost placing her in a routine walk in a routine street in a routine hour, but in the succeeding evenings she noticed a familiar figure pass by at around the exact same time, every time, so much so that when they failed to pass by at the anticipated hour one night, she grew suspicion. Nobody really walks this part of the street, and, at least one of three indicated characteristics matched. Perhaps something about routine, something subconscious, just makes you pick the odd one out when it presents itself. That and guts… well, it’s not like she had much on her arsenal; she had to make the risk.

With that, she was high on alert, and when the familiar figure finally strolled past her usual path of sight, she went to move, hand gripping the pistol inside her coat, ready to fire at the opportune moment. Roxanne walked in long strides, and, upon turning the corner where she assumed they were alone, cocked the gun and pointed it at them, perhaps enough to have them stop at their tracks.

“I’d stop if I were you,” she called out, already moving their direction.

i'm in tumblr since like 2013 because of one direction. then i left, deleted my blog, and came back years later because of sebastian stan and some sherlock stuff. watched kingsman 2, got it bad for pedro pascal and looked for him here. watched narcos. remembered that wagner moura was in it as well and went like 'oh i forgot about it'. saw maurice compte being unhinged and super violent in it as well. then i went like '... oh'. sebastian stan now forgotten. sherlock is AROUND but not as much. my life is full of big latino dudes and eventually two or three white ones who happened to be on my watch.

omg 😭 thank you. there’s more being planned but i’ve hit a sort of slump in my writing just due to like. general life stuff rn so this has been sitting for a few days, i do apologize.

some backstory for seb and charles in this au:

charles leclerc is not your typical rich boy from monaco, he’s a generational monegasque. his family settled on that coast hundreds of years ago and were lucky to build their little grocery store and home and stay in those streets that slowly filled with the world’s elite wealthy. he was not one of them. his family survived, sure, but they were not rich by any standards, just the working class.

but he was valuable, with his citizenship and his family’s generations of living there. it meant he blended in, he was just background noise to the “main character” rich people. it meant he could slip in their pockets and get their money. it meant he heard everything going on in their lives and businesses. it’s amazing, truly, how happy the elite are to talk about their private matters in their ear pieces while looking at the aisles of specialty pasta his grandfather got from a special shop in Italy.

charles was too smart to not put this to use, to slowly manipulate the narrative and learn even more information, posting to anonymous sites about what environmental disaster this ceo was planning on attempting to cover up, how this sports star was having a disgraceful affair with his wife’s best friend’s brother, where their money was actually going, what activities they were getting involved with.

it’s also amazing how many of these people don’t turn their bluetooth on and don’t use encryption on their information. how easy it is to duplicate their phones onto his laptop that he’s “just using for inventory, papa!” and blast all over the web.

until, he accidentally duplicates the phone of a kingsman agent. of sebastian vettel, code name: Lancelot. until he scrolls through his information and is horrified by what he finds. until a strong hand is slamming his laptop closed, causing him to look up and see the man who he just saw in very interesting circumstances. his blue eyes amused as he evaluates charles.

charles is just a boy, at 19. sebastian doesn’t know why he’s shocked that charles is just a kid, when that’s the perfect cover for someone who has the ability to access information of the wealthy and blast it on the web like some internet vigilante, but also doesn’t have the ability to effectively cover his tracks well enough that he’s made virtually untraceable.

sebastian felt like he should’ve known; that speaks of someone highly highly intelligent, but also naive. someone who knows what power wields but not what the consequences are. sebastian, secretly, hopes that he never will learn those consequences. but he will if he doesn’t come with him, because the wealthy hate their gilded world being revealed and they’ll be even less amused that it was that shy kid down at the local store.

charles feels like he just realized how fucked he is. when that handsome man tugs his laptop close and tells him he knows who he is, greets him by his alias “ilpredestinato”. charles feels his world collapse in but instead sebastian, as he introduced himself (charles already knew), pulls him and his computer into a car and he says “charles. have you heard of kingsmen tailors?”

he has, they have one down the road. he’s never been, it’s too expensive.

sebastian takes him there. puts him into fitting room three, and shows him the world he’s capable of taking, tells him what he’s intelligent enough to achieve. the agent hired before him, had only discovered one state secret that his father had failed to cover, and blew open a whole government regulated arms rings. seb tells charles he’s highly capable of being one of the best agents with his background.

that’s if he can survive the tasks.

charles is lucky that he met seb. because nobody else’s mentor would help them but seb would help charles if he really needed it. maybe because seb was fond of him.

charles blows everyone else out of the water. charles blows even max verstappen out of the water, with how much he absolutely demolishes everyone else in his nomination class, how he scores high on every single task.

and when charles completes the final task and cradles his beloved bouvier that he affectionately named charlotte as she licks the tears from his face, he is looking right at sebastian to find sebastian looking right back at him, something more than the usual pride and mirth he usually finds in his eyes.

he sees a little bit of love and a little bit of need.

Traveling down memory lane, I realized I'm never much of a hobbyist. I have placed interest in this and that, most of them are short lived and one day I would start placing my interest again on the thing I have abandoned for a while. Doesn't know where to settle, indecisive, you name it.

When do you first learn how to read? To spell out each letter from a word? I remembered clearly, the first book I picked up myself was one with a bright yellow cover, a thin book that doesn't have many pages, ink printed on natural uncoated papers, only containing simple instruction how to read. I was determined to learn and finally able to read a full sentence on my own after driving my father's patience to the edge for two weeks long.

I still laugh at myself every time I remember that the first time I went to a cinema was when I sneaked out with my highschool friends and came back home to give my mother a heart attack after she found out her child was no longer the infant she once craddled every night to sleep. She got yelled at, belittled, berated, and even physically attacked by her brothers, and after one particularly bad altercation between her and her older brother Sebastian, Brielle decided that she was going to be even colder and tougher and not just take that from her brothers anymore. During the Valentine incident in which the Kingsman were involved, her father had joined in on Valentine's plan to have people chipped so he could control their minds and her father had also gotten a chip. When the other Kingsman, the ones that remained on the good side, caused the chips to blow up, all the people that had the chips inserted in their necks died, and that included Brielle's father. Colter Hadley died when the chip in his neck self destructed, and Eden Hadley left to go back to her hometown, leaving Brielle and her siblings to fend for themselves. By that time, Sebastian had left home and it was just Brielle and Lorenzo but then Lorenzo went off to live with relatives and left Brielle on her own in the house. With her whole family gone, Brielle had to figure out how to fend for herself. And a few years after that, when Brielle was 20 and had moved to America from London, was when she came across a CIA recruiter who she, at the time, didn't know was a CIA recruiter.

Getting recruited as an agent was hard in the beginning. Brielle often got underestimated because of her outward appearance, but had no trouble proving people wrong no matter how big and strong they were. She could move fast, think on her feet, and defend herself even before getting formal combat training. She made her way to the top of the charts as an agent at an impressive pace, and eventually was offered the position of Director 4 years after she was recruited as an agent. She was cold, steadfast, quick-witted, calculated, and just what the Executives at the Langley base were looking for. She made decisions that no one else could make and could do what most others weren't brave enough to do, and that caught the attention of Ward Abbott and the other Executives of the Langley CIA base. Brielle accepted their offer, and became the Director of the Langley CIA base at just 24 years old. Now, she still runs the Langley base with an iron fist and a steel will, and doesn't let anything or anyone get in her way when she sets her sights on achieving anything.
