Definitely my favourite panel in the entire Green Witch arc. And this is what I'd call one of those Sebaciel moments (my new tag category).

I don't know why people said that Ciel's trust in Sebastian was broken and/or that he became scared of his demon boyfriend butler when Sebby tried to go nom-nom on him. That look on his face didn't look like 'hate' or 'fear' to me.

In fact, I think this is the point where they took a big step forward in their relationship/partnership. I think some other people have brought this up as well.

To prove it further, after they were done in Germany, they went back to London with Sieg & Wolf, and we're treated to one of my favourite scenes...

The conversation in Ciel's bedroom about having empathy and being the leader of men.

Kuroshitsuji Chapter 28 & 29

this drives me crazy every time i think of it and i dont think i've seen this brought up in awhile so i felt the need to bring it up again:

in chapter 28 Sebastian has to remove his glove after William soils it and says "To decieve prey with sweet words and drag them into the darkness.... Isn't that a demon's signature ability?"

And right after this it's the infamous seduction scene with beast in Chapter 29 where it centers focus on his bare hand doing the caressing and pleasuring. and yes, obviously the previous quote applies here

Then literally a page later we get this

first of all i just know this was intentional from Yana, theres just something very scandalous having these scenes focus on the hands and having them side by side clashing with eachother.

it's also noted that both of Sebastian's gloves are off instead of just one. I guess this makes sense considering it would look weird to be wearing one glove but i do think its interesting to note that he did keep the other glove on during his encounter with Beast. the first thought is that he didn't want to touch his master with a glove he wore during sex but i just think it's funny considering his bare hands have touched much worse.

then afterwards Sebastian's gloves stay off up until he returns to the townhouse and handwashes ciel (since ciel is too sick to have a regular bath)

There's not a lot of Sebaciel content lately (Sebaciel nation where art thou?) and I'm still stuck on the subject of Sebby going nom-nom-nom on Ciel (or trying to...). So, here's yet another analysis rambling on this particular subject...

Look at how sad and disappointed the demon was that he didn't get to eat his meal :(

In all seriousness though...

Was he really going to take Ciel's soul?

Yes.

At some point, he was in Ciel's head in a last ditch attempt to get his master back. He really was 90% earnest about the whole thing. But how about the 10%? I think, this is that 10%... 👇

I think that 10% was hope. Hope that his young master was still in there somewhere, hope that he'd get his young master back. After all, he'd said it himself that what he finds most amusing right now was playing Ciel's butler. And what is a butler without a master? Without Ciel, the game will be boring and the demon has no reason/desire to continue playing it.

References (beause I don't want people saying I'm pulling that theory out of thin air)...

And I think, Ciel approved it.

It was a rude awakening, I agree, but he wasn't angry at Sebastian for acting out of turn or for having almsot eaten him alive.

And I think this is what has deepened their trust in each other and moved their relationship forward.

How?

Ciel was at a very vulnerable state. He was genuinely scared of Sebastian. He wasn't himself (or maybe he was). He wasn't in a state where he could order Sebastian around.

And Sebastian has to decide on his own course of actions. He acted independently (sending a sample to the palace, asking for Sieglinde's help, agreeing to be her butler). It was just like what Tanaka has said, Sebastian was preparing for his master to come back.

Sebastian has acted in his master's best interests (although his method was questionable at best) and Ciel recognized that. This is the instance where Sebastian truly acted like a butler.

I believe that if Sebastian really 100% wanted to take Ciel's soul, he could've done it in seconds. He didn't have to give that speech about the terribly dull ending and all that. But he was trying to egg Ciel on, to taunt him, hoping that his master would raise to the challenge and take the bait because that's how they flirt play their game, by taunting and teasing each other. This is their dance. That's the master that Sebastian knows.

And Ciel did! He came through for Sebastian and for himself! He was back to be the master that Sebastian has come to know and love respect.

Afterwards, they both had a revelation. Ciel realized that his demon has truly become his butler, and Sebastian realized that he was enjoying this butler 'game' way too much and he doesn't want it to end. Or perhaps, he's even gone a step further and realized that this is no longer just a game to him (this particular theory is pulled out of thin Sebaciel air).

And that's how they both took a step closer to each other.

If Ciel hadn't taken the bait, if he had chosen to stay in that cage instead of reaching for that smug demon he called a boyfriend butler, then Sebastian would've taken his soul because then he'd know that his Bocchan was truly gone.

And I believe that he'd have a completely different expression across his face after the deed has been done.

I used like the scene where couples kissing in the rain because I like rain, it make the world feels some different. And the air after the rain used to let me feel really comfortable.

I want to see Sebaciel kissing in a rain, and all out of sudden a sunny rain came, but they are so into the kissing that they ignore for a moment and then found out they have been wet.

They are watching each other being so soaked through, and they start to laugh so stupidly, could be a cute scene.

I know it is not Sebaciel really are, but I would like to see this.

By the way, I always wanting a yellow converse, so I let Ciel wear one (for me). And it is so suitable with his outfit!

Aight because there's a new kuro anime I have to say this and I'll only say this once. I dont get the people who vehemently deny the existence of sebaciel elements in kuro.

Look its valid if you are not into certain ship but screaming 24/7 that sebaciel aspects in this series is not real, and hating on the shipper all the time, insisting the shipper 'doesn't get it' and 'this is not what Yana wanted' and claimed the fandom hates sebaciel shipper (acting like fandom colonist) make no sense...

I saw someone said "I dont really have anything against /those shippers/ bc how can i blame them for liking (ok i kinda blame them) something that's there poisoning the entire manga, but im tired of thinking about that disturbing visual baiting"

Sebaciel is not poisoning Kuroshitsuji, sebaciel bait and the development of ciel relationship with sebastian is the whole thing

I personally always been pretty neutral about sebaciel, its just the thing that happen naturally in the series ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Some people went as far as insisting that Sebastian is Ciel father figure and all of the romantic bait between them are totally platonic father and son moments. I'm sorry but this is such a cope

Also if you still watch or read Kuro, I'm sorry girl but you dont get to throw stone in the glass house, you are a freak just like the 'freak shippers' that you condemn. Its fine to enjoy 'impure' media

You cannot claim moral high ground while still endorsing the series and participating in the fandom. Just sit your ass and calm down...
