Just finished reading "The Toad" by Hans Christian Andersen. Anyone else familiar with this piece?
Online description:
"A very exciting story of a little toad, who motivated by the excitement for adventure, leaves his home at the bottom of a well, and his curiosity leads him into some very interesting adventures. He bears inside his head a most precious jewel, the ceaseless longing for a higher experience. In the end he is carried as far up on a stork's mouth as he ever could be. This tale imparts the thought that our finest possession is not what we own, but what we are."
My emotions are quite mixed after reading this piece. There were numerous hidden (and dark) side themes intricately woven into the main story that are worth reflecting upon.
It brought to mind a photo we took in the spring with Ava, featuring a captivating toad statue in a park. Ava shared a story about a toad's poison saving her life. We delved into the realms of a love story between a butterfly fairy and a toad or even a twisted tale where an enchantress turned the toad into a statue out of excessive love.
Regardless of how the photos turned out, the creative process behind them has planted imaginary tales in my mind. I contemplate them. I reflect on them. I hold onto them. They are the remnants of my childhood that will eventually age away forever.
"But the jewel in the head of the Toad? Look for it in the sun; look at it if you can." - The Toad

I got this piece of advice from my writing professor in college that has always proven to be effective. Put the work away and give yourself some space. Give yourself the night to sleep on it, a week, a month, or in this case four years. When I took this photograph I was “all in” on a project titled Rituals and Routines for which I had grand plans, then mentally I fell off a cliff and moved on before I could finish. At the time I thought these pictures were beautiful but I didn’t know what to say about them, then four years later having basically put them away since I shot them it’s like I’m seeing this for the first time.

The 6 Proven Ways to Choose the Best Event Photographer in Seattle
When it comes to your event, one of the most important things to do on your list is to hire the best Seattle event photographer. Now, you must be wondering why. A professional event photographer, compared to someone with a good camera, comes with expertise, experience, and technique to capture the best event photos. You can then use these photos on social media and your website to create about the event, which could be for networking or a product launch! If you are looking for a portrait or headshot photographer in Seattle, start here.
Tips to Locate the Best-Suited Seattle Event Photographer
Tip # 1: Choose your Venue first
It's wise to block your venue first because that finalizes the event date, too. It becomes straightforward to check the event photographer's availability as the event date is precise. It also helps the chosen event photographer in Seattle understand the dynamics of the event based on your venue selection in terms of type, whether it is indoor or outdoors, the size of the event, time of the event, location, and more. No one tells you this tip, and that's why it is shared!
Tip # 2: Begin early
Once your venue for the event is booked, search for the best, best-suited photographer. Please remember the good ones like NW Creative Expression are in demand, so booking them a few months earlier is a wise step! The early booking will also give you time to discuss your expectations regarding the types of photos to be taken so that you stay satisfied with the outcomes. It also gives you time to go through the chosen Seattle event photographers' previous work and learn about their unique style of photography.

Tip # 3: Ask, ask and ask
No one is going to come and give your personal recommendations for the best photographer for your headshot portrait or, event or product photography to be done. It would help if you networked with your family and friends to find their recommendations and then visit their website to see which photographer's style resonates with you to take conversations ahead.
Tip # 4: Meet up
There are many options for portrait, event, products, and headshot photographers in Seattle but once you have shortlisted a few, you must meet them in person. You should be able to connect and build a rapport with them regarding photography because they make you feel comfortable in front of the camera. So, one of the critical points that ensures this is clear communication. Meet them in person and check your comfort level besides their work quality.
Tip # 5: Enquire about Specialization
Every photographer has their style and technique. Do enquire about the same to gain knowledge about the expertise to be used for your event photos. Steve Parent from necreativeexpresion.com uses the flashlight photography technique!
Tip # 6: Look at their previous work and see reviews
Many people just look at the previous work done by the chosen Event photographer in Seattle! It is essential to know their style and quality of work. But combine that with checking their reviews online from their previous clients. It goes a long way in learning about aspects like punctuality, professionalism, timely delivery status, and responsiveness of the photographer. Find everything and then make a conscious decision.
Learn to Assess the Headshot Photographers in Seattle Professionalism.
Yes! That's why meeting in person is essential. It creates that first impression where you can assess and analyze their professionalism by seeing how promptly they respond to your queries and how the communication and equipment they use. You also learn about their expertise and experience in handling similar photography work.
How early should you book the best Seattle Event Photographer?
Generally, booking anywhere before 3-6 months is an excellent timeframe so you get your hands on the best and most recommended Seattle Event Photographer. You also have enough time to build a rapport with them and discuss your specific requirements in advance.
To summarize!
In a nutshell, start your search for the best Event photographer in Seattle early on. Check for their previous work, pricing, availability, equipment, and photography style. Also, analyze your comfort level to make your headshot portrait or event photography session comfortable. Get in touch with nwcreativexposure.com today for your professional photography needs today!

We had a nice walk at Discovery Park. Elliott had a lot of fun seeing and touching all the trees, plants and flowers! Here’s one picture of them overlooking the Olympic mountains. Photographed with a vintage 300mm lens on a full frame camera at ƒ22.
