I made the right choice staying below the tree line. There was a cold wind whipping over the tops and it would've been an uncomfortable night in a bivi bag.

I mentioned my bar and fork bags a couple of weeks ago. The seatpack is a V1 Alpkit Big Papa that I've been using since 2018; the current version is a very different design, but mine's still going strong.

The frame bag is made by Restrap. Merlin were doing a good deal on them in late 2022 when I needed to replace the Alpkit Possum I'd been using for over seven years. I also have a Wildcat Ocelot bag on the Lava Dome commuter that I would've happily transferred over to the mountain bike, but it's too big for the Scandal's frame triangle. Again, the current Ocelot is quite different to my version.

The Restrap bag is a quality item; if I have a niggle it's that it lacks padding where it contacts the downtube so you need to pack carefully to avoid items clonking against the tube on rough downhills. Not a dealbreaker by any means. Like the Alpkit and Wildcat bags, the Restrap is made in the UK. I'd have no problem buying any of them again, it's just a question of getting one that fits your frame well.

Specialized says that the Burra Burra Stabilizer Seatpack is NOT compatible with a carbon seatpost but the guy with the red cervello bike in Indipac had that type of setup right? What is your opinion?? I'm thinking about buying one but i don't want to damage my bike.

Just make sure you wrap your post with some 3M helicopter tape. So nothing wears away.

Because some riders are 100kg then loading it with another 10kg maybe an issue. You are fine though.

Specialized is a big company so they have to make sure they don’t get sued.
