im so glad u watched 19 bc i truly have soooo many thoughts on like theres so much potential & really good scenes there but so many misses. the tex part is easily the best part of it though i still cant believe it actually happened. i kinda wish sarge's death was off screen like you see them watch him die but give him no final words sort of deal... i feel like it wouldve been a better plot device rather than the longer scene if sarge saying what he's feeling as he dies. sorry i keep thinking about that its my main thing i wouldve changed. well that and putting wash back in prison instead of a mental facility because i think a prison break with untreated mental illness couldve done more than ....... whatever the hell the wash scenes were. restoration is easily the best set up for fanwork ive seen in a while tho NGL the meta tucker concept is soooo fun i wish it got explored more. sorry im rambling in ur askbox now LOL

YESSS sorry for the late response. im glad rvb restoration dropped hwen it did so ic ould watch it irl with my girlfriend but it did happen to be during the most busy month of my year so obviously my blogging has been completely slacking. i really love this final line that apparently sarge was going to say. i think its more sweet and poetic than him spelling out how hes feeling about simmons and grif in particular

no yeah my biggest issue is just like. this felt like a vehicle for like, meta scenes saying goodbye to the reds and the blues, but the actual like "plot" of the season didnt really have any time to develop and had to just be quick weird scenes that were just kind of tonally dissonant and not really polished or treated with the same kind of care and deftness he was able to handle mixing the humor and plot elements of the recollections trilogy. both due to the runtime, him being out of the game for so long, and needing to do a full plot in one season instead of three. it really felt bare bones. which is fine it's just like, obviously you can see that its not the best, and i feel like if it was going to just be a vehicle for sappy goodbye to rvb as a property scenes i wish it had just gone all in and given us more interactions between the different characters. idk. im not really sure how id fix it aside from just having my own completely differnet version of their future in my head but ive already kind of written that post out for my post chorus vision lmao. dumpster baby forever...

META TUCKER IS REALLY FUN AND I COULDNT BE TOO MAD AT IT because it was literally a type of concept that epsilontucker riffed on after the open ended s13 (oh my god rip epsilontucker i think im gonna be sick). but his scenes again felt pretty jarring nad just put in there to keep the season moving and wahh why did they torture him for 10 fucking years ahhh scary AHHH. yeah, now that you said it it really does feel like. the bare bones of an incredible 250k word fanfic written by someone who has a different more serious tone than the original series like, put my guns in the ground style, moreso than an rvb season LMFAO but that's fine if anyones still in the fandom and cares to do that i'd love to see it. idk. im rambling. it was a good fun stream and i liked individual scenes but it was definitely all over the place for me

i think perhaps the newer fandom has a deep misunderstanding of the final episode of season 2.

I’ve seen people tout it off as a deep mischaracterization and harmful to queer people. But thats just- not the case in the slightest. Christ the amount of fix it fics i’ve seen where people just have them remove the break up scene entirely is- just sad. I too crave the comfort of characters so deeply in love my heart hurts, where they’re allowed to be happy and queer in peace. But thats not the circumstances they find themselves in- that Any of us in the community find ourselves in. Heaven and hell come for them, their plans to end the world for the sake of war.

Both of them are in the wrong, crowleys plan to run off together fixes nothing, and you can see in aziriphales face in his actions throughout the entire season that thats all he craves, but if he were to run- just as Gabriel and beelzebub had done off to some distant galaxy away from it all, eventually the past would catch up to them. And not only that the world that they were apart of for thousands of years lain to ruin because they chose to flee.

Aziraphale- i think he changed his mind the moment the confession happened. He wanted to give his starmaker his stars back, to allow him the freedom and happiness he wants, its just aziriphale is so caught up in their own religion he cannot see that he is Worth more than the sum of his belief to someone. That if crowley could simply come back to heaven- to the Good side a side he believes does wrong only to thwart the evils of hell he’s been told of his whole existence. Remember now- Crowley never told aziraphale about the details of his attempted execution- he didn’t even tell zira that he lost his apartment. He knows something happened- but not the worst of it. But crowley is so viscerally against every part of heavens deal. Crowley hears that he’s unworthy of love unless he’s an angel, aziraphale hears the person he cares most about in the entire universe hating every part of who he is.

And then the confession happens- the kiss, so many emotions flick over his face before he finally settles. “I forgive you” “i forgive you for wanting me” “i forgive you for running but i cant do that not when i have something to fight for” he sets his feet, he may be turning to heaven but he’s looking to pick a fight, ‘someone who can see the good in me despite being hereditary enemies must mean that Something is wrong, someone that good didn’t Deserve to fall’ so he’s walking into heaven with a tyre iron and some questions. He wants to make it better, to make a heaven that will allow free thought, a suggestion box.

We must give Neil time, time to craft the ending to our story. He would never let this story sit as it is, even if it meant recording this in his backyard with three fennec foxes in a trench coat. They will have a cottage in the south downs, Neil already told us so. This too shall pass, the pain we feel at our favorite characters not being able to communicate effectively is temporary. I know we so often get stories where the queer characters dance just out of reach of each other, veiled with innuendos and metaphors only to be ripped from our arms with sudden straight ships or death. But Neil doesn’t Write those stories, have faith that Neil will give us a satisfying ending. We’ll cry, and this time it’ll be happy tears. We’ll see them just as it began, in a garden.

The new episode was sO goOd omg tbh i didnt think i was gonna be able to watch it last night and i legit cried. But i did and i am very very thankful. Because it was a very very good episode. But before we start stOP reAdING cuz theres gonna be MASSIVE SPOILERS IN THIS POST.

Alrighty without further delay, the Sam and Bucky show episode 5 and all its best things (there are a lot, to no one’s surprise). Im gonna go in chronological order to avoid losing my mind.

1. The fight in the beginning. Omg. Walker looked like he was gonna do both Sam and Bucky in with the shield like 6 times and it was lowkey scary. And when Walker knocked bucky into the electric tower or whatever it was— skdjfjs i saw some people post abt Sam’s glare mid battle like “if this is sam looking at walker after he hurt bucky” anD IT ACTUALLY WAS marvel why.

2. Walker ripped Sam’s wings off omg. That was so brutal i audibly gasped. I think we’ve seen the wings being shot at or broken but never ripped clean off. 0 _ 0

3. I like how the fight ended with all three of them on the ground and the shield just lying there. And then Bucky picked it up, left it for Sam and left. Walker was defeated but it kinda shows how Sam still wasn’t sure about the shield, he just knew in that moment that Walker absolutely couldn’t be the one to have it. I feel like that fight scene really conveyed how all of them felt about the shield and it was done really well. (Ok but on a side note, remember in episode 2 when Sam was like “bruh we cant just run up on the man, beat him up and take it?” I guess they went with that plan after all)

4. TORRES MY BELOVED. He’s back and I’m so happy 🥺🥺🥺🥺 also i love how he’s not afraid to give Bucky sass lmao.

5. WHEN SAM TOLD TORRES TO KEEP THE WINGS. listen i havent read the comics but i know what happens in them and Torres is such a Falcon fanboy omg if he’s gonna be the new falcon im gonna be so happy for him ahhHhHh

6. Sam’s conversation with Isaiah Bradley. Man. I’m really really happy that we have that scene. The scene with Isaiah in episode 2 left me reallly uneasy because it ended on a really bad note with unfinished and unsaid things between Sam, Bucky and Isaiah. Also Sam didn’t really get to talk at all in that scene and I felt like he def had things he wanted to say. I appreciated how Sam said that he really didn’t get some stuff and he had Isaiah explain more of his backstory. I think Sam believes that things can change, for good reason, and at the same time Isaiah believes that nothing will change, also for a completely fair reason. But having the time to let the two of them talk, esp with the shield in the room and without Bucky’s complicated history was a really well written piece of dialogue. Thank you screenwriters.

7. SARAH WILSON SUPREMACY. I’m glad we got more of Sarah in this episode ahhh. She’s such a caring sister and I’m here for it. Sam and Sarah sibling dynamics also >>>>>

8. Sam calling in the favors to help fix the boat was so heartwarming omg. And Bucky just showing up lmaooo

9. Bucky flirting with Sarah to get on Sam’s nerves LMAOO

10. Sam and Bucky fixing the boat together was something I needed to see. That entire montage, the teamwork and warm lighting and akskdjajd my heart 🥺🥺💕💕💕

11. Bucky waking up to Sam’s nephews playing with the shield reminded me of the Black Panther end credits scene but also of that one scene in Wandavision with Pietro and wanda’s kids lollll

12. Sarah asking Sam if he’s gonna let Isaiah tell him what to do and then Sam asking/telling Bucky to stop letting others, even Steve, tell him who to be was just. Skdkfjaod. The character conversations in this episode ahHhh

13. On that note, Sam and Sarah having a chance to talk about themselves, their boat and their family was just amazing. They’re fighting to keep their history and also understanding each other at the same time.

14. Sarah telling sam that there’s the fight out there and then theres the fight in here is so special. It in a sense reflects/applies to not only Sam and Sarah’s relationship and struggles, but it also applies to Sam and Bucky’s relationship and struggles esp with Steve and the shield’s legacy, Bucky’s history as the Winter Soldier and all the weight he carries with it. They gotta sort out the inside stuff before getting into the thick of what I’m sure will be the final battle next week as superheroes in the face of the world.

15. On that note. Sam and Bucky finally having the chance to talk was so relieving and eye opening for both characters. Bucky finally understanding Sam’s perception of the shield and its weight on his conscience because he is an African American representing his people and Sam finally understanding a more personal side of Bucky’s relationship with/perception of the shield feels like a knot in their friendship that has been resolved. The development in this show is just through the roof omg.

16. Okay but Bucky talking about how Steve told him about the plan to give Sam the shield... wkerjkakdja I feel like that makes Endgame’s ending a little better 😭😭😭

17. Shield training shield training shield training ahhhHhHhHhh i swear whenever either sam or bucky touched the shield in this episode i started physically vibrating LOL. Its so cool to see the shield in the hands it’s supposed to be in again ☺️☺️ Sam’s training montage with the shield was also AMAZING omg it was so so cool to watch him grow with the skills

18. Not Sam asking Bucky if he has nightmares and talking to him about amends and stuff skdjfjskd lowkey Sam is the superior therapist in this show and he doesn’t get nearly enough credit for it aksjdjskdjajd. Also the implication that Bucky will go back to Nakajima and give him closure for his son I— 😭😭

19. Also im so glad the scene where they’re walking away from each other ISNT the last episode. Its sort of like a “we’ll see each other soon” walk : DD

20. Okay but Bucky helping the Wakandans capture zemo at the memorial (which i think is for his family? 😭😭😭) and then the favor that Bucky called in for sam. WHATS IN THE GOSH DARN BOX OMG. i think it’s either new Falcon wings, a vibranium Redwing (please let it be this) or a suit of some kind

21. And lastly what the heck does Sharon wanna kill Sam for?? She workin for the flag smashers now or sumn? Also Batroc coming back when the last time i think we saw him was in CA: Winter Soldier 0 _ 0

Did it take me an hour to write this post? Yes. Did I get everything? No. I dont think I discussed Walker in this post but he was super scary and deranged and Wyatt Russell blew it out of the ballpark in this episode. - The puppet show was perfection. And honestly on par with what you would expect from middle school projects. (I almost thought it was the adults showing them and was like WTF)

-BACK THE F***. Madame Bustier is PREGNANT! PREGNANT?! I am so lost? What is the story!? Who is the father! Is she married? Is it artificial insemination! Is it the principal?

-Adrien so moved by Marinette’s outburst of Friendship. Marinette ‘Just a friend’ Dupain-Cheng is going the Tia Gardner method of friendship. Lol

-Marinette ready to fight and Gabriel just like ‘Yea sure whatever’ (Gabriel’s smile murders puppies)

- Kagami trying to cheer adrien up. If you love adrigami, get that juice. (That looked like a kiss kiss, but the angle seemed off, so I am not counting it that way.)

- Kitty Clicker is wonderful. This entire scene is gold.

-Marinette has totally moved on from Adrien.... Oh my poor sweet little girl. You havent. You havent even a little. This ride is litterally the reverse of Startrain and its amazing. Alya is NOT helping. Also, give the person that drew Marinette’s Daydreams a f***ing raise. They earned it

Overall, I did greatly enjoy this movie. Though there were times i wanted to know more, and times I wanted to know less. I know this takes place sometime during season 4, but the exact time is vague. It did tell a really cool story. It felt like a three episode saga combined into one. It was kind of interesting. And damn the drama was higher.

I give it a 7.5/10.

I would rate it up there with my favorite ML episodes.

☕️ The idea of spn ‘eras’ -what’s ur favourite and do u think they can be deconstructed from usual kripke, dab etc.

i am 100% a kripke era supremacist, partly bc that’s where i am on my rewatch, but mostly bc i know the show never tops this. like eric has problems disorder and a lot of what was good about his era was sheer luck, but the writing is solid for the most part and i genuinely enjoy each episode and the psychological damage they all deal me. i don’t love how desaturated it is, but i much prefer the ugly grimy aesthetic over the sitcom lighting of dabb era. and i love how purposeful the directing is in kripke era. i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again: kim manners did! what! he! had! to! rip king.

why eric gave the reins to sera gamble of all people afterwards and why she tried to run the show into the ground is a mystery to me, but whatever. i can’t comment on her era much bc i hardly remember any of it. all i know is my bestie bedlund foiled her plans to vilify cas with his magnum opus the man who would be king.

from what ive heard, carver era can be divided into two sub-eras: carver-edlund (ha) with season 8, and carver alone with seasons 9-11. again i cant say much bc 9 and 10 are basically blank spots in my memory. obviously i know that 8 is one of the best seasons in the show, presumably from my bestie bedlunds influence on the story. and i do remember enjoying 11 but i think that enjoyment was partly just bc i thought amara was hot (and then it took me 3 years after that to realize i was bi. wow. sorry tangent but that just occurred to me wow i am dense)

and finally dabb era. dabb era is not really an actual era, of course. its really just a big sandbox that everyone is rolling around in and eating fistfuls of sand except for yockey bobo glynn and perez who are building sandcastles and doing the reading. i think it’s best to disregard the background and overarching plots of “dabb era,” bc they suck, and instead focus on individual episodes and moments. the s12 yockey hat trick. thee future. thee trap. cas having a little baby boy and raising him with dean. dean teaching jack how to drive. scoobynatural. the deconstruction of mary and her psychologically damaging relationship with dean. you know the little things. i of course view dabb era through the lens of yockeynatural, as god intended.

i honestly don’t mind the sitcomification (other than the horrendous lighting and coloring choices of course), i loooove the little domestic family they have, but it’s done in such a way and in such direct contrast to kripke era that you can’t help but feel like you could rip away the curtain and reveal the wizard at any given moment. we are clearly looking at a set. hell is a hallway and a throne room. the outside world does not exist. it’s fascinating! compels me, for completely opposite reasons that kripke era compels me! season 15 is fascinating to me personally bc the god as the villain, death of the author sandbox is my favorite one to play in and affords endless possibilities to fix the finale in my head. bad era. but endlessly compelling.

Request: Can I request a Dreamcatcher scenario for Dami, where y/n is a member of another girl group and is known to have a crush on Dami, so one day at an award show her members find Dami and bring her to y/n which results in y/n blushing and stuttering like crazy but little did her members know that Dami actually liked her back and ends up asking her out. Award show season was in full swing and your group had been invited to the Golden Disk Awards. This was one of the biggest music shows you could be invited to. Your group was still fairly new, only having debuted 18 months ago. Despite this the 7 of you have broke more records than any other group in the entire industry.

The seven of you sat in the van, talking amongst yourselves. “So are you excited? I cant believe Im gonna see Twice and IZ*ONE in the same place!!” Your maknae, Jian, bounced up and down excitedly.

From the front of the van one of your other members shouted “I BET Y/N IS EXCITED THAT DREAMCATCHER WILL BE THERE! ARENT YOU Y/N?” Sending a glare her way you responded “I’m not just excited to see them, Loona will be there too...plus IDLE.”

“Yeah but you loveeeeee Dami. It’s always “she’s so hot” “can i marry her!”Jian laughed as she imitated your voice.

Pushing her on the arm you scolded “oh hush up that’s not true! And if anything you’re all over Wonyoung. Everytime you see her you’re always like “she’s so beautiful I want her number!!”

Your members continued to tease you about the huge crush you had on Dami, while you did your best to tune them out.

When you all arrived you felt the nerves set in. Although you didn’t exactly know if you were going to meet anyone, you were going to see some of your favorite idols up close.

Walking the red carpet was fine, you didn’t fall and embarrass yourself like you thought you would. The talking part of interviews were handled by the older members much to your relief as well.

However you went into a full panic when you realized your group was sitting directly next to Dreamcatcher. Your sunbaes were already in their seats when you arrived and the only way to get to your seats, was to walk past them. Like directly in front of them.

Your eyes locked on Dami as your members slowly filed through. Quickly you looked away before she was able to catch you staring. All of your members were clearly trying to stifle their laughter as they could tell by your silence that you were in fact panicking inside. Approaching JiU you smiled, trying your best not to look scared and star struck all at the same time. A small giggle left her lips and what sounded like a “cute” filled your ears as she saw the iron grip you had on Jian’s hand.

As you passed Dami you absolutely avoided all eye contact. Out of the corner of your eye you noticed the way her eyes followed you until you sat down with your group. For the first hour you could feel her eyes on you.

“I have to pee...come with me at the next break please.” Jian whispered to you, her leg bouncing on the ground indicating that she’d been trying to hold off on getting up for a while.

You responded “can’t you ask one of the others....i don’t wanna walk past-”

Jian whined “please please...just come on. I can’t go alone.” At times like this you were reminded that although she was in a group full of legal adults, she was still the baby.

She puppy eyed you and just like that you gave in. After five minutes there was finally a fifteen minute break as camera crews moved around and started to get ready for the next performances.

Jian immediately got up, practically sprinting past Dreamcatcher to get to the bathroom. You sighed deeply realizing that you’d have to pass your seven idols, one of them being your crush, alone.

You just decided to rip off the bandage and walk over, knowing your leader would get upset if you let the 15 year old out of sight by herself.

Doing your best to not step on them given the small amount of space. With a smile they moved out of the way for you, Siyeon stopping you to tell you how beautiful you looked.

When you made it to the bathroom Jian was already finished and washing her hands. You decided to just go ahead and use the bathroom as well, knowing the awards show wouldn’t have another break for a while.

When you came out of the stall Jian was fixing her hair and dress making sure she looked good as you washed your hands. As you dried you hands she stepped in front of you to open the door, giggling softly to herself as she waited for you to walk out.

The two of you started walking back down the hallways towards the stairs which led back to the open arena. Just as you both turned the corner and started walking down the stairs you felt yourself trip. Jian didn’t react fast enough to catch you, but luckily someone else did.

“Are you okay?” The person holding you asked. Your eyes widened realizing who the voice belonged to before even looking up. Internally you hoped and prayed it wasn’t who you thought it would be. But the second you made eye contact, you saw it was her.

You stared at her for a moment before she nodded her head prompting you for an answer. Hoping you didn’t sound stupid you asked “I’m sorry what?” She smiled and said “I asked if you were okay.”

You tried your best to put together a sentence but all the cane out was “i’m- you know uh uh yes just- i mean...um. Yes.”

Now was when you realized not only you were still holding onto her, one arm draped over her shoulder. But she also had a hand placed on your waist, the other on the small of your back.

The two of you just stood there not saying anything, just looking at each other. Jian craned her neck down the stairwell before shouting to someone who was a few steps behind Dami.

“Yuna?! Oh my gosh let’s catch up!” Jian ran down the stairs excitedly to meet her schoolmate. The girl called back up “Y/N just hang out with Dami, I’ll see you later!” Her excited shouts snapped you out of your trance.

“I’m so sorry I’m just gonna-” You turned to leave thinking you’d embarrassed yourself enough. Dami grabbed yourself arm, “wait, come with me we have ten more minutes.”

Not wanting to be rude you smiled softly and allowed her to take your hand as she guided you back upstairs. She linked arms with you as you both wandered the empty hallways. Once you warmed up to her you found yourself less nervous, talking about whatever popped into your minds.

When the two of you returned to your seats all of your members were quick to bombard you with questions. You just smiled to yourself deciding not to tell them anything.

Occasionally you looked over in Dami’s direction, stealing glances of the girl. Sometimes you caught her staring at you, resulting in the two of you laughing at each other.

The award show had just ended and cameras stopped rolling. Jian had been taken home with the other minors, as it was well past their curfew. But judging by the text messages she sent you, she met Wonyoung and got her number as she’d hoped for.

Two of your members ran off to go meet Loona and (G)I-DLE. While the rest of your members, along with you, went to talk to Dreamcatcher.

Right as you were about to talk to Dami you felt someone grab your arm and pull you back. Giving the girl an apologetic look you turned around diverting yourself attention to someone else.

One of your members, Haeun, excitedly stood in front of you, “I just met Hyunjin! She was so nice Y/N! And I met Heejin and I got Chuu’s number, she wants to be friends with me. And Vivi...she’s so pretty like I knew she was pretty but in person Y/N you have to come see the-”

Haeun stopped rambling when she noticed Dami standing behind you. Her eyes widened as she asked “oh! I’m sorry....oouuu look at you! Okay bye.” She turned you back around and pushed you a little to hard, making you stumble into Dami’s arms for the second time tonight.

“You just keep falling for me huh?” She asked with a smirk.

Standing up you tried to hide your blush “yeah...sorry about that...”

Dami placed a hand on your arm, “its okay...i’ll catch you everytime.”

Covering your hands with your face you tried to hide the fact that her comment made you smile like an idiot. “Just remind me I owe you next time you see me, hmm?”

She responded “I know how you can repay me....”

Her hand dropped down so she was now holding yours, her thumb grazing the top of your knuckles.

A blush creeped onto your face as you raised an eyebrow in response.

“I want your number.” She stepped closer to you so only you could hear her next words, “and I want to take you out. Sound good?”

All you could do was nod before putting your contact into her phone. She glanced at the screen before laughing to herself at your contact Y/N 🎀✨

“Dami we have to go.” JiU called for her, waving for her to come over to the rest of her members.

She looked back at you and said with a smile “I’ll text you later, see you around cutie.”

The second she left, you slowly turned back to face your members who were all stunned. Haeun asked “how’d you even- you couldn’t even talk to her at the beginning of the night! How?!”

You smiled at the realization and said “I just kinda fell for her.”

MONEY WAS NEVER HIS LIKE, MAIN GOAL. yeah obv he likes money and is materialistic and values his Rich Life, but hes got billions, the end goal? 1. getting maddie (and or danny as his son, but to me he always treated that as secondary) 2. ruining jack. this feels like they wanted to say 'oh he just wants POWER' which is. HMM?? OKAY?? obv he /does/ want power (usually over certain ppl, tho), but seeing him try to get it like this FELT WEIRD SOMEHOW. weird like the ep where he tried and failed to take over various historical civilizations, because like,, how is that realistically going to do anything for him?? just, being in that time forever and never seeing maddie aka Goal #1 again?? HELLO??? this was like that, but worse

-this was such a weird ending to an entire show. why did season 3 only have 13 episodes?? why did it feel so weirdly paced?? WHY WAS THE ENDING LIKE THAT. I think. I am going to pretend I did not see that. fucked up, dudes. I'm like...hm. I shouldn't have watched that because now I'm mad. valerie sweetie im SO sorry you shouldve been more present. it felt like..if they knew this season was going to be short, and the last season, they should've spent more time wrapping up EVERYONE'S plot lines for the entire season. imagine how cool it wouldve been if every single ep of season 3 was working towards something, a big, nice wrap up at the end, with nothing feeling TOO rushed because they'd been heading towards the End for the whole season....

I will probably end up writing a follow up full series thoughts post. In a couple of days so I can sit with my thoughts. BUT. overall, I really liked the show! (ignoring the finale and some of the moments that aged pretty poorly...) it was charming and a fun concept and very fun to watch in general :) and I am pretending the finale didnt happen <3 and I’m gonna dive RIGHT into the dp tags and mix fanart and posts in my queue, very excited to run and look at that 🏃🏻 (and, of course, make more fanart myself hehe >:3)

thinking more if my funny little rewrite thoughts so like. here's an entire run down of what I'd do with season 1 of my pride

under the cut cuz its long and like. warning for like. everything that already happens in the series anyway

starting first! with the naming conventions. so the whole naming scheme is appropriation of indigenous culture. and I'm white so take this one with a grain of salt but replacing that mess with instead the mother naming the cub after a trait after getting to know em would. probably fix it? Like naming a cub Power or Tenacious and. stuff

the names could not only be personality based but just general descriptors. Quick for someone fast, Golden for someone blonde, Cherished for someone especially loved by their mother. Names could also be based off something they want the child to be, like Fearless or Perceptive. naming a child after something they don't start as, but turn out to be instead would make everyone to regard the mother as an especially good one for knowing her child so well. Being wrong would have the opposite effect. Waiting too long would bring scorn, implying you don't spend enough time with your child to think of any name at all.

Prideless lions wouldn't be named by their parents at all, instead given the right to name themselves based on what they think. This leaves room for them to rename themselves as grow and change, something pride lions cant do. Until the cub names themselves, the mother will refer to them with affectionate nickname.

and I think that. fixes that issue. onto plot

I think episode 1 is fine left alone, though all three children would be left unnamed. though I think its weird how quick managed to rip off the skin all around nothing's eye but didn't actually damage it. Like at all. so she's half blind now too.

So they go on lion trial, power saying quick is unfit because he was bested by a cub, so there's no way he could've beat star fairly. sharp calls forth the currently unnamed fire to ask his opinion as a supposed witness. even though I'm pretty sure he ran away before star died? eh <3

despite having the chance to get rid of quick, he says it was fair and quick has earned the pride. whether or not that's true, fire is a devout believer in pride law and a pride without a mane would be worse than a pride lead by a cheating mane.

because nothing and quick each half blinded each other, they go with the law of equivalent exchange. one each gets something from the other. nothing asks for her and her brother's lives to spared, and quick asks that she always takes as little resources as possible

instead of like. skipping 2 years. it would instead actually like. show the childhood. how nothing is ignored by her on mother, and doted on by fire. specifically because he think she's weak. despite doting on her, he also generally ignores her opinions.

even as a little wounded baby she gets the least food and water, enforced by quick and even fire sometimes, rules are rules. some of the unnamed adults will try to cheat this tho and get her more food and water cuz Holy Shit? Dude?

when she's a little older and not. covered in open wounds. the adults more or less stop trying to protect her. she's on her own now, and they have cubs of their own to worry about anyways.

since time is also a resource she gets the least of that too, most notably the least time being trained in anything. hunting, fighting, tracking, she's taught the absolute least.

despite that, she always tries.to do the absolute most. first to volunteer for anything she could theoretically do, last to get picked for any minorly important task. getting ridiculed for doing things slower due to her limp, to the point where she starts trying to just power through the pain to walk normally. it only slows her down and she gets mocked more. fire generally doesn't stand up for her, just makes her lay down

eventually she starts getting out a bit. The younger cubs mock her, their parents don't stop them, her mom never speaks to her unless its to antagonize her, and quick is downright terrifying. despite being healed up, fire never leaves her alone and disregards her when she wants to be alone.

this is how she meets hover, who is now named insightful. bc I just inexplicably cant stand the name Hover for a lion. she thinks she's insightful, but she's kind of just snarky and a little mean without saying anything w real depth, probably bc they're all prepubescent

despite being snarky and a little mean, she's a breath of fresh air to nothing cuz she's yk. not ableist and calls fire out when he starts acting ableist. its a short interaction, and when they're home fire immediately goes to tell his mom there's not only a prideless lion in their territory, but a cub, implying her mother and possibly siblings are around. cuz he's a little bitch

nothing gets into an argument with him over it, she could've been their friend after all, and both fire and her mom yell at her for even thinking about disobeying pride law

not sure what else to do here, so skip to when they're 2 and fires about to be kicked out. they're both still nameless, bringing a lot of bad opinions power's way. she's also required to name at least fire before he leaves. so she sits down, rolls her eyes, and half asses the name fire. quick is about to push him out but nothing interrupts, saying she still needs a name.

power gets annoyed and demands what she could even be named after, her injury? her disregard for the law? her ability to butt in at the most annoying times? nothing sputters, shocked and unable to come up with a response for a moment. before she can, she's named nothing

she protests, and even fire thinks that's a lot. they're both shut down, by power and quick respectively. most of the present adults are shocked, some of the older ones even appalled. none step in though. fire has to go, and nothing leaves toward the watering holes so she doesn't cry in front of her mom. all that stupid shit is internalized though so she starts trying again to support her full weight on her leg no matter how much it hurts. thinking maybe it broke and healed so wrong that it can barely support her now. idk I'm no doctor

she ends up laying down by the water, feeling all bad and in pain. then she notices the crocodile and some other lion and yada yada saves her life. insightful immediately recognizes her and that stops nothing from chasing her off. they catch up a little until they hear someone coming. insightful runs off and farleap, now called jumper comes out of the grass.

she questions nothing, she heard something and she can definitely smell a stranger. nothing lies and said she just chased off a prideless. jumper doesn't seem convinced, but doesn't push it because the stranger is gone, at least. so she just gets her drink and nothing goes home. and that's the day.

next day we can be introduced to feather, now named light. he's the runt of his litter, the lightest color of his siblings, and the light of my life. his name has nothing to do with the reincarnation stuff, which ill get into later. he gets teased for being smaller than his sisters, but keeps up an over energetic, happy mood that children have. he prefers hanging out with nothing though, seeing as she's not gonna be mean to him for being short.

he refuses to leave her alone to the point of finding out when nothing starts sneaking out to see insightful. their little dates go all nice and cute until light jumps out of the bushes scaring the life out of them. nothing freaks out a little because holy fuck? quick's son just found her out? oh god oh fuck! insightful is just amused though, because children are funny.

they make light swear to keep it a secret, and he promises. as long as nothing lets him go with her whenever he wants, because its fun breaking the rules and being out at night. it's a little less fun third wheeling on your cousin's date when you're like 7 but its fine cuz insightful plays with him

everyone thinks its pretty weird how both nothing and light are getting exhausted in the middle of the day, and jumper is still on that "I don't believe that you chased that prideless off" stuff, and eventually convinces power of increasing like patrol or whatever, and everyone keeps their guard up, making it harder for nothing and insightful to meet

this spurs nothing to ask insightful to join, to which insightful asks her to leave the prides and go with her. nothing says she doesn't want insightful to just have to take care of her and it goes back and forth and its a whole thing. it turns into an argument and they part ways for the night before it can escalate further.

the next morning, insightful has shown up and is asking to join. mostly so she can spend more time trying to convince nothing to leave the prides with her.

they get convinced and she is stripped of her name immediately. either quick or power will rename her when they come with something suitable. of course she is. upset as all hell. she swallows it though, since she's never seen nothing so happy. light is ecstatic, also, cuz he thinks she is cool.

go through some time showing insightful being worn down by pride life, nothing still continuing to practically destroy her body to make herself palatable, and light being downright bullied because he's still smaller than his everyone his age. quick even starts looking down on his son cuz Why Is He Still So Small? light begins to resent his father, and pride life a little.

jumper is rude as hell, naturally. except this time insightful actually stands up for nothing by cuz holy shit? that's your girlfriend why wouldn't you help her?

we can also implement the homophobia rule here. because of course power is a homophobe. would you expect anything less??

and yeah that's the vibe until nothing is left with some unnamed lion to look after the children while everyone else is off doing things that are important. she goes off for a drink and light follows her because of course he does. yadda yadda fire is back for a visit cuz he thinks nothing is like. useless and can't survive without him. their little visit goes down light thinks its so cool to meet a bunch of prideless men yk yk

on their way back they run into quick, who is followed by power and insightful. that unnamed lion with the other children said nothing and light had been gone for a long time and quick is pissed off cuz that's his only son n she just took him off for a jaunt.

he's yelling at her and insightful is about to interject before she's stopped by power, and light interrupts his dad to tell him about fire's group. cuz hey it'll make him leave them alone so like? go off??

nothing gets pissed off at him though because he just sent his murderous father off to kill her brother. rude or not he's still important to her. she and power have their interaction, power whining about how much she "loves" her children, you know. except nothing disowns her. power gets called out and yk yk. its a whole thing and gives nothing some of the agency she lost over the years

then she goes off to find quick, insightful follows her to help, and light follows them because he feels bad.

quick is dead, proud is a dick, light is hidden away in this scene. it goes much the same except light is seeing his father's corpse for himself and insightful is there negotiating their lives alongside nothing. also threatening proud

they yet away with their lives and run as far away as possible just in case he comes after light. nothing may be annoyed but letting your small cousin be murdered isn't cool

so they go off to find fire. its important to nothing cuz ykkk he's her last living sibling and as far as she's concerned, her remaining immediate family. he treats her how he does cuz he loves her, right? right. right?

nothing lives on the stretch how she lived in the prides, taking as little as possible of everything. insightful starts trying to get her to eat more before she like. drops dead. but its hard bc yk internalized self hatred is a vibe. they stay hot on fire's trail, until they come across some bones, a lot of blood, and the eaten remains of tangle. I'm making that plot point more fucked up.

everyone is of course freaked out, and insightful immediately takes it on herself to make sure nothing and light have some skill in fighting cuz Oh My God! they each play to their strengths, and it's like typical training montage. I like to think that with nothing's bad leg opponents would naturally try to take advantage of her balance, and which point she could rear up on her hind legs and then unexpectedly just crash down onto her opponent with her full weight. idk I've never seen a lion fight.

so yeah they eventually find fire and light and insightful are like. not trusting him at all, they suspect him. nothing isn't so hasty with the blame, cannibalism is a lot to accuse your brother of. fire says that if he takes over the nearest pride, he can change her name due to her time as a prideless lion.

as discussed, light objects. he thinks she should be able to choose her own name. pride or not. fire the devout follower of pride law didn't like that

they kill that old man, fire demands the pride, moonstrike (now striker) denies him and he's like. "You cant do that. That's illegal" and striker claims he couldn't have beaten her mate in fair combat after getting his ass kicked the first time. plus he's got some random child that isn't his

he takes that as "kill the kid" and yk. goes after light. nothing's reaction time is normal now though and barrels into him before he can rip lights throat out. he's still gravely wounded though, so much so that insightful is fully occupied trying to keep him alive.

nothing and fire square off, fire is ableist, nothing challenges him. You know. except this time she kills him. she gets him on his back and cuts him open, guts everywhere. no Ghost scene.

Injured and horrified, she lays down. she's like. going to have a breakdown. she just killed her brother, light may be dead, these strangers won't quit staring at her, its not good. episode end.

cut to like next morning and nothing's injuries are being taken care of at the same time as light's. insightful is in there with em talking with striker. noticing she's up, striker asks her name. I'm still not sure what I'd want her to change it to but she does change it. perhaps Enough?

idk idk either way, she doesn't get the pride. she beat fire but it wasn't his to give. however, striker offers them all a place there, including light. boom season 1 end

time for a dumb critique of stranger things written by a dumb emo 13 year old

aight so since im a massive film/tv nerd lets talk about stranger things 

YOUNG BOY STRANGER THINGS

so basically the first season is nearly perfect imo. the cinematography is phenomenal and every. single. shot. serves the mood of the scene really well. the show has excellent writing that makes teens feel like actual people which a lot of other teen shows fail at, and it can be really funny without actually sacrificing the mood of the show as a whole or detracting from the severity of the situation. it can also be genuinely scary (the first watch through) without relying too much on gore to induce a cheaper “shock scare”. It maintains tension expertly throughout the whole show until the resolution and the ending cliffhanger is a perfect end. There really isnt much more i can say, the entire season is just chef’s kiss

DEMOGORGON 2: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO

while season 2 is still decent and succeeds in some of the aforementioned manners (cinematography and humour), there are quite a few g l a r i n g flaws in the show which kinda take it down quite a few pegs for me. Season one was almost a mystery show disguised as horror, and therefore was a lot more engaging because you wanted to solve the mystery just as much as the characters did. While you were still invested in the show and liked the characters, most of the enjoyment (for me at least) came from trying to figure out what happened to will. While Season 2 does have some of this carry over with the Mind Flayer infection, the mystery never really progresses, they just figure something out in the last hour of the show. Season 2 relies a lot more on the characters to carry the show and keep the audience engaged. While this does work a lot of the time, especially with the dynamics between Dustin and Steve (we stan), a lot of the enjoyment from the show was taken away (for me) when the mystery aspect was toned down. Additionally, there wasn't really any particularly scary threat for the majority of the season. In Season 1 we are aware of the existence of the Demogorgon throughout the show and we are consistently shown that it is a severe threat to the protagonists, but in Season 2 we only really have a threat at the very end (last two episodes), and even those are literally just tiny demogorgons. While they obviously can still be harmful, they’re much tamer considering how hyped up big boy demogorgon was in the first season. 

While the characters are a big reason why stranger things is such a well loved show, Season 2 kinda screwed a lot of them up. Joyce is still the distressed mother (while she has reason to be, she literally doesn't change at a l l after the first season), Mike is kinda just an edgier version of who he was last season, Will doesn't have any character at all (the mind flayer does take him over but thats a slow process in the beginning, he should be more prominent but he isn't and we therefore never get to connect with him like we did with the other characters in the first season), and Eleven...

well Eleven is a child. she has every reason to be disappointed or angry that she cant see mike but she behaves like a toddler. she   - throws tantrums  - breaks windows when she doesn't get what she wants

and yells “i hate you!” at her parental guardian who is just trying to keep her safe from murderous government officials. While her motivations are there and are valid, her behavior is extremely immature, and she definitely devolves after the first season.

whoo that was long. i still like the season but the characters don't really evolve or develop at all after the first season which kinda sucks considering the first season was so good and characters did develop during it, but for some reason they just abruptly stopped. Fortunately, the writing is still decent and the cinematography is still great so its still an enjoyable watch.

SEASON 3: COMMUNISM IS THE REAL ENEMY

okay.

this is probably the worst season of the show (worst for stranger things is still pretty good though), but i still enjoyed watching it more than i enjoyed watching any other part of the show because i was laughing the entire time.

The writing in this season is either amazing or terrible. There are some parts to this show where they’re trying to write a joke but it fails so hard i start laughing. The best example I can think of this is the scene where Billy is trying to convince Mrs. Wheeler to get private lessons from him. He launches into a monologue of how he could “teach her” and starts listing strokes like the sensual man he is 

“freestyle..

breaststroke” *proceeds to eye mrs. wheeler from head to toe*

and the joke made me cringe so hard i fell out of my chair laughing. This is just the example i thought of off the top of my head, but so many scenes have similar writing that makes me cringe hard.

BUT

the actor’s performances in this season are phenomenal. Every actor sells their lines so hard that I enjoy every. single. second of the show even when the writing is dumb. the only times when the writing is actually bothersome is in the serious scenes (like the infamous “new coke” scene which made me shake my head so fast my glasses flew off my head). Apart from those few instances, however, almost every second of the show is enjoyable. This season also fixes the problem with the second season and actually ups the ante this time with the mind flayer which is absolutely, positively, terrifying. The damn thing is literally made out of the melted corpses of the people it infected. This brings another problem into the show, however, which is

too

much

gore.

I should probably start out by saying that in general i don't really like over the top gore in media. A few months ago i tried to watch Kill Bill and got freaked out by the first scene. Regardless of my wimpiness, however, I think that the show begins to rely too much on gore to be scary. Some scenes have people feeling around in a cut open leg, some scenes have people literally melting into chunks of blood and flesh, some have scenes of a guy getting his head shoved into a fan and having his face ripped open. The show tries to put all this off as “horror” but in reality its just something that grosses me out a bit but then i move on. Some scenes have actual scary moments, (especially with the mind flayer in billy’s form), but a lot of the horror in the third season relies on either gore or jumpscares which are still really enjoyable to watch but aren't really scary as they’re intended to be.

I still loved watching season three, but i feel like it shouldn't be gone into as a horror show as the first two could have been. The first few episodes are like a corny teen dramedy with some scary elements, and the last few are literally just slasher 80s camp the whole way through and i'm living for it

anyway this was long winded and dumb. stranger things is a great show watch it just don't expect anything to top the first season
