TUA seaon 4 recap because fuck Netflix

Hi if you are reading this welcome to I hate Steve Blackman/Netflix but I still wanna know what happened in The Umbrella Academy season 4 club, couple things I should probably warn you before we begin

spoilers ahead(just in case you didn’t read the title this IS the pissing on the poor website

I will be very angry and biased because Netflix took the wife and kids i will hate this guy forever I’m really good at remembering a grudge(no hate to the cast tho they did their very best and defo deserve more

In this recap I will go over the main plots of season 4 with a brief mention of the side plots, do beware some of the plot/shit characters did makes absolutely no sense but hey I'm just the messenger please be mad at Netflop for that

Season 4 Episode 1, The Unbearable Tragedy of Getting What You Want(aka us getting season 4 but only 6 episodes)

After loosing their powers when they came back to the main timeline last season, the brellies have lived the past 6 years somewhat peacefully, Luther is a stripper now, Diego and Lila is married with 3 kids, Allison is now a B list celebrity living with Claire, Klaus is sober and a germaphobe, Five is working for the CIA(bro is too busy working to cut his hair i hate it), Ben is a crypto scammer who just got out of prison, Viktor owns a bar and keeps getting dumped by girls(sure whatever)

The new big bad this season is a pair of wacky scientists named Gene and Jean, they are the leader of this cult called The Keepers who are trying to make “The Cleanse” happen, which is just a fancy name for the apocalypse.

Okay so basically this episode Vikor got kidnapped by random guy(I’m not even gonna mention his name he’s just here for plot so I don’t care about him) on his way to Diego and Lila’s kids birthday party, the siblings go and rescue him, random guy said hey actually i'm a big fan of yall if you can rescue my daughter Jennifer from a remote location I will be forever grateful, the group was like nah we are actually powerless now but Five was like wait we are doing this your welcome because he found a bottle of marigold(the thing that gives them their powers) in the belongs of the missing daughter, after this they went to dinner and Ben drugged everyone (except Klaus coz he didn't drink it) with the Marigold so now they are gonna get their powers back.

there's also this side plot where Lila and Five went undercover to investigate The keepers, Lila didn't tell Diego so he thought Lila was cheating on him with some guy whos actually just Five(buddy you are not gonna believe this in like 4 episodes this came true I hate it here)

Season 4 Episode 2, Jean and Gene(they were a cute couple but they will NEVER be Hazel and Cha Cha)

After they got their powers back they went to find random guy but he's missing, leaving a hint about New Grumpson, Maine so the siblings went there roadtrip style(their car also blasting baby shark non stop its not relevant to the plot i just think is funny), the siblings arrived to this small town, Ben was like you know what I’m done with yall bye, when he tries to leave he met Jennier in disguise, they have a chat, fall in love immediately(talk about speed dating am i right), the towns people learned that the siblings are here for Jennier so they pull the guns out and starts shooting,turns out they are all working for deadbeat dad of the century Reginbald Flopgreeves, so the siblings fight with their new and slightly improved superpowers(that apparently drained the vfx budget because the final big bad is ugly asf??? the same show that gives us Pogo?? whatever man)

Meanwhile Klaus was chilling in the car, a fake Jennifer who's pretending to be the real Jennifer asks Klaus for help, then shoots him before the siblings can stop her, Klaus told the siblings he doesn't want to get his powers back and dies, but Allison don’t take no for an answer and water board klaus with the marigold, Klaus came back from the dead, and then Jean and Gene crash into the siblings, kidnapping Jennier.

Back to the Lila Diego Five cheating side plot (ugh), during the roadtrip, Diego tells Five he thinks Lila is cheating on him, Five is like don't worry about it buddy it won’t happen for another 3 episodes (okay the last part was me but Five did tell Diego it’s probably nothing) and Lila overheads their conversation and thank Five for not exposing her GIRL JUST TELL YOUR HUSBAND STOP BEING SHADY *sigh*

Oh and Five keeps teleporting to this subway station that have trains going to different timelines but we never found out who the fuck build this so dont ask me idk either

Season 4 Episode 3, The Squid and the Girl (The plot and the holes because nothing makes any sense anymore)

We start with a flashback to young Jennifer being rescued from giant squid but WE NEVER GOT THE EXPLINATION GIRL WHY ARE YOU INSIDE THAT FUCKING SQUID so we are just gonna move on focus people we are half way though the season shit is about to go down(unfortunately)

After Jean and Gene kidnapped Jennifer, the siblings starting doing what they do best, arguing with each other, this is when Klaus give us the greatest summary of the show,

Klaus then leaves the group, Ben also was like nah fam im out for real and then leaves. The remaining siblings decided to split into two groups, Five Diego Lila went to The Keepers HQ to investigate, Viktor Luthor Allison went to find dear old dad Reggaeton Hargriefs. So Diego finds out that The Keepers have a document about Brellie!Ben’s death aka The Jennifer Incident.

Ben who’s getting tf out, discovers he got hand mouth foot disease with rgb red lights on his hand(see kids this is why you don't touch hands with girls before you get married) random guy pops out and was like bro did you find my daughter, Ben was like yeah I did and I also fall in love with her, random guy was like good good now use your squidar to find her so Ben did just that and rescue Jennifer from Jean and Gene.

For Viktor Luther Allison, they went to a giant mansion that their father owns, expecting to have to fight their way in, but the guards there are like, ah yes master Vikor please welcome in we have been waiting for you, turns out in this timeline Abigail, Rickroll Harkonnen’s wife was still alive and is the one who runs the house + her husband, so the kids were like ma’am your husband is a dick to us in another timeline can you tell him to shut up and help us, she agreed and he obeyed.Now the kids(Luther Allison Diego and Viktor) are putting on their thinking caps to restore their memory of The Jennifer Incident(because dead old dad erased their memory of it talk about childhood erasure)

*sigh* so the Five Diego Lila subplot, when Diego was investigating in the Keepers HQ, Five and Lila blink to the subway station, they got on a train and went to the original apocalypse but five was just like meh guess this wasn’t THAT traumatic pffff I only got stuck here for 40 years no biggie anyway time to get on the train and go home I guess, this shouldn’t affect me in any shape of form given that you know I’m so calm and collected when I first got here :))))))))) yes i'm being sarcastic NO ONE should be this calm and collected here okay.

Diego and Lila also talk things out, Lila apologizes and then says she wants to take a break from their marriage(sure lady whatever

no im NOT even gonna mention what Klaus has been up to, for me he went home to Claire bear and talk shit out with her end of story.

Season 4 Episode 4, The Cleanse (maybe why the Keepers what to make the cleanse happen so badly is because they saw ep 5 and be like nope go to hell yall)

We got a flashback to what happened with brellie!Ben, turns out he was murder by Regglodocus Hippocampus, our beloathed deadbeat dad of the century on a mission where the umbrella academy is securing a package(Jennifer in a box) but they touch hands so bro just straight up kills them both in front of the siblings(bro can we delete you from existence I hate this man with a passion)

The siblings are obviously pissed, AbiFail then explained that it's not her asshole husbands fault, years ago she created the marigold and unknowingly also created Durango, when these two particles touch hands, its gonna end the world for the billionth time(aka the cleanse), this also what happened to their homeworld, and it's gonna end earth if they don't separate Ben and Jennifer(because she got a shitton of durango in her).

Ridiculous Hepatitis then said we must go to kill one of them to stop the world from dying and Viktor is like NOT ON MY WATCH I WILL SAVE BEN and they have a little showdown, Vikor wins(duh) and they are like let's just check this crime scene Ben created last episode when he came to save Jennier okayyy.

The siblings got there + flop dad, Lila told Five hey what if we go back in time with the trains and stop the Jennifer incident from happening in the first place and five is like alright bet, but we cant tell Diego for plot reasons so Imma tell my CIA boss to take Luther and Diego to CIA HQ and babysit them( sis just tell him Diego might be a dumbass but he’s a dumbass that listens smh)

Anyway the siblings split into teams again, Viktor and Renaissance Harrypotter went to track Ben and Jennifer, Five and Lila got on the time train, Luther and Diego were at the CIA, Allison went to save Klaus from the TUA writers.

oh and Ben and Jennier fucks and it kills everyone within the radius lmao

Season 4 Episode 5, Six years, Five months, and two days ( just end my suffering rn)

We start with a montage of Five and Lila being stuck in train hell, unable to find the right train home so they are kinda just traveling from timelines to timelines, they decide to stop and stay in one of them with a strawberry farm(ew), and the most terrible thing ever fucking happend, apprently in these six years they caught feelings and they kissed fucking hell son of the bitch steve blakman I am in your fucking walls I fucking hate it here why can’t good thing last fuck off five would NEVER do this to his siblings this motherfucker spend 40 years and the entirety of season two trying to save his siblings why the fuck would he kiss his sister in law I hate it here

BUT this isnt it

One day he went out for scraps and he found his old note book with the instructions on how to get home, he stashes it and only tell Lila about it 5 fucking months later

5 FUCKING MONTHS

I don't even know what to say let's just get over it okay

so yeah after this they call things off and just went home

Back to Vikor, he calls Ben with the help of dad and tells him hey buddy you have to stop the world and stop your feelings for Jennifer because you are gonna end the world if you stay with her, Ben refuses saying that he’s never been better(sure buddy) Ben and Jennifer plans to run away but Jennifer felt sick so they stop and went to a random mall to hide/ask for help.

Luther and Diego did absolutely nothing in CIA HQ and they realized they were being babysat so they dipped, oh and they also fought a bunch of people in the process which is cool I guess.

Season 4 Episode 6, End of the Beginning(thank fuck is over I’m freeee)

The Keepers are guarding the mall that Ben and Jennifer are in because they are stupid. Viktor and dad arrived at the scene, Viktor convinced dad to let him extract the durango out of Ben so he doesn’t have to kill him, dad said yeah sure whatever man, so Viktor sneaks in the building.

Meanwhile the rest of the siblings gathered at Lila and Diego’s house, Diego clock those cheating bitches immediately and Diego confronts Lila and she finally confesses but before he could beat the shit out of Five, they saw what's going on with Ben on the news and went to the mall.

Vikor got into the building, Ben is now a glowing clay human hybrid(ewwwww

Vikor tries to extract the durango out of Ben but he ran out of time, Dad’s sniper shoots Ben but before it hits, Jennifer and Ben touch hands for one last time and they transforms into ugly cgi clay monster big bad of the season(like wtf is this

the sibling starts fighting the Bennifer monster, Diego and Five didn’t get the memo so they fought each other instead.

So yeah we are fucked, AbiFail told Ratsass Hankercheif shes the one behind the keepers and she’s trying to right her wrongs by ending the world this way(selfish prick) and Reggie said alight that defo excuses every shitty thing you do man I got a really good wife and they both got sucked into the Bennifer monster(your redemption arc flopped btw I still hate you)

The siblings went back to the academy, thinking about what they can do to stop the Bennifer monster, Five went to the train station again, and discovers a deli run by other Fives, and one of the five told him babes, we are NEVER gonna succeed in stopping the apocalypse because the timeline is broken(it's only supposed to be one) and the existence of marigold is what shattered the timeline so we gotta gotta get sucked into the Bennifer monster and volia marigold + durango = kaboom(they will cancel each other out) BUT the siblings will cease to exist(coz their mum got exposed to marigold and birthed them so no marigold no siblings)

Lila and Allison decided to ship their children and family to the train station and send them on one of the trains to create a paradox I mean to protect them and the siblings got absorbed by the Bennifer monster, the timeline was fixed, none of us are happy, we ended up worse than we started.

This is such a good ask. I spend way too much time walking whilst listening to music and daydreaming, it's where so many of my head canons come from! So I associate a lot of songs with Shameless as a whole and with my favourite characters.

I know they actually played this during an episode? Maybe after Monica's funeral? I can't remember the exact episode. I got super obsessed with the song whilst I was travelling Australia last year and I used to imagine them playing it at the party after the Gallavich wedding.

I don't know if I have as much of an explanation for this one. It just really gives me shameless vibes. Maybe about Frank saying he thinks everyone should party more in life? Also it kinda reminds me of Lip? Plus I had a weird reoccurring day dream for a while of Gallavich sneaking into a Green Day concert.

Harness your hopes on just one person because you know a harness is only made for one?! ARE YOU KIDDING?! A personal head canon for me is Mickey being demiromantic. I also identify this way. I've never really fancied anyone off the bat, I have to really know them first and I feel like Mick is this way. It's probably not what the song is about but that line just hits. Plus, I've said it before and I'll say it again - I think Mick loves this song.

I don't really know how to explain this one. It just screams Ian to me. But like so many Frank Ocean songs are Gallavich coded.

This is a sadder pick but it reminds me of Ian during season 4/5. He was so ahead of the curve but he had his independence and drive taken from him for a while because of his bipolar. This also works as a Lip song!

I didn't wanna leave Ian on a sad note so he can have another Taylor song. I imagine this for him during season 3 when he's so obviously in love with Mick (and its summer) and Mick is finding it harder to express his feelings.

They all put a lot of thought into it and i also spend Anholt of time trying to analyse cause 1 Im trying to make a Long fanfic on Wattpad and 2 i have 2 obx drś and i try to analyse a lot. How Toft myself in. What their Rooms look like. Their personalitys. Their family ect. I do defo Think season 4 has some problems in it but Im trying to wait for The last 5 episodes. the beauty of fanfiction is making assumptions and creating scenarios and expanding on what you’ve been given. if you aren’t then it is no longer fanfiction but simply canon to whatever goes on in the show.

within that realm though, we should both be able to have our separate opinions, neither wrong nor right. if it’s canon it’s obviously going to be right but being hell bent on being canon means ur no longer creating original content and where’s the fun in that.

-Defo a fall man. Our resident cowboy loves fall.

-Hay rides and horse rides baby

-Loves a cozy fall drink though. Regularly hits up a quiet little cafe and chills there with his drink and a bagel, just admiring the outdoors.

-Long autumn walks. Sometimes alone, sometimes with Grayson, sometimes with Xander and Tiramisu, and sometimes with Libby. 

-You know this man also absolutely spoils his girl. Again with the hay rides, horseback riding, takes her to the orchard and they pick apples. Anything, you name it and he’s doing it for/with her.

-Will pester Libby for cinnamon apple fritters and pastries. 

-Has commissioned more than one fall shoot from Grayson.

-Of course, his go to fall outfit. Predictably, his old cowboy boots, a pair of dark blue jeans, a standard flannel long sleeve shirt and a denim jacket. And of course one of his cowboy hats. You all saw one this coming.

-His favorite holiday of all is Thanksgiving. He is a big part in the kitchen that day and insists on helping the kitchen staff. And once their grandfather passed, he was always the one who cut the turkey. And he always watches the Thanksgiving football game. The other boys typically came with, even if they weren’t quite interested in the game. It was a good, comfy, happy place to lay out and lounge after all that food. They all had each other. And that was enough.

-He hates when the Christmas season intrudes upon his happy little fall world. “Let fall have her day, dammit! Damned Christmas capitalism…” His brothers all find this amusing.

F1 preseason testing review

With fp1 starting tomro, I thought I should do a little review of what the pecking order of the grid appears to potentially be after preseason testing :3

As is usual with testing don’t take this too seriously and be ready for a fat wall of text

Red Bull

As expected it appears that the usual suspect is first in the pecking order again (Red Bull nyot mr popo). Adrian Newey has once again cooked up a Frankenstein's monster of a car, seeming to take some ideas from Mercedes whilst mixing it their own in some places.

Whilst they didn’t actually set the fastest time in testing, when compared to lap times set on similar compounds they do appear to be the fastest. And when maxes reaction to driving the car is:

Ferrari

Italy’s national team seems to be pretty damn quick, and the closest to Red Bull with them topping both the second and third day with the fastest time overall. They seem to have fixed their problems with tyre deg and drivability, so their race pace should be much stronger than it was last year. This means that Leclerc's crazy quali pace can be properly benefited from. I doubt they will can fight Red Bull for the title but most likely on a race by race basis instead.

Mercedes have made drastic changes to their car this year, and they seem to be working to an extent, lap time wise they are easily the 3rd fastest at the moment, and might nyot be too far behind Ferrari (who they would defo like to beat to stick it to Lewis). Mercs most likely issue this year could be if their car is too radical, as they made some interesting decisions design wise (which considering Red Bull took ideas from them, means that the big concept change might nyot have been needed)

McLaren

Well it’s better than last year at least. The Sisyphean task of McLaren trying to get to front has once again stalled slightly as they have seemingly fell a bit back from Ferrari and merc. However McLaren have some mystical ability to drastically improve their car after the first few races, and considering how far they moved up in 2023 they could potentially worth upgrades properly match Red Bulls pace. The source of their problems right nyow could be that unlike Ferrari and Mercedes, they didn’t make any huge changes which means they might have just fell behind a bit.

Aston Martin

Aston Martin seem to mostly be consolidating their place in the top half of the grid this year, pace wise they seem to be just behind mclaren, but in some runs Alonso did they could be just ahead of them aswell. They prolly won’t be a big focus this year, they will prolly just be a consistent points scorer and occasionally pop up on the podium every now and then.

RB

Team ugly ass name could be a quite a surprise potentially, I’d pre season testing is anything to go off of, they have improved on their late 23 pace and are firmly middle of the pack, just behind the top 5 and ahead of the bottom 4. And they don’t just appear to be copying Red Bull, as their car is mostly an evolution of last years with just some new Red Bull parts added on. This year might really allow Daniel and yuki to really show how good they are as both will be fighting for that second Red Bull seat.

Williams

similar to aston they seem to have just stayed put this year, this will most likely be a year of just trying to solidify their position from last year again this year and then work from there. most of the news from this team will be about if logan stays or not and if they can get Alex to resign for them as well, other than that there probably wont be much coming out of these guys.

Alpine

Alpine in pre season testing looked... interesting, lets say that

im not really gonna talk about them here, this post is long enough as it it is, so i will make a post specifically for alpine as i have a lot to say, to make it short here, they could be one of the slowest teams on the grid. but that's based on testing, so we will see what comes from it.

Sauber

Sauber does seem to be a bit quicker this year, and the car seems a lot more understood by the team and more drivable. i imagine the year is going to be spent mostly just trying to make whatever gains possible and try to prepare for Audis full take over of the team. however there could be some interesting decisions driver wise, Bottas and Zhou are generally considered some of the most at risk drivers, as a seat at Sauber is quite valuable as it will become a full works team eventually, so it could be likely that some more high profile drivers like Carlos or Nico could move to the team as has been rumored

Haas

as i think most people expected Haas was at the back, the team is in a bit of an uncertain position, with long time leader Steiner given the boot by gene. Ayao Komatsu spent most of the off season after getting the promotion doomer posting about how haas might not be fully ready for pre season testing and that they dont fully understand the tyre deg issues yet as they spent the entire test doing long runs to try and fix it

it also doesn't help that with the way things are going currently their main driver Hulkenberg wants out. i fully expect that Haas will finish last this year, and this is all coming off the back of news that Andretti was rejected by f1 over fears they "wont be competitive", when they let a team like Haas clown around the place at the back of the grid.

honestly? its special to me. Ive a great memory but I defo struggle with this not knowing the order, so it was either a) I decided to finally watch AN ANIME for the first time ever and put on inuyasha, THEN got curious about returning to yugioh and discovered season 0 and THEN watched the abridged or b) I randomly remembered I'd never seen the end of ygo and so looked up amvs of it on youtube thus discovering ygo season 0 came first and then found the abridged through that and THEN realised I wanted to welcome anime into my life and so I started Inuyasha and sooooo on down I went, the anime road from then on

so, ygo abridged is at the beginning of that journey

at that time in my life, I was heavily struggling with ocd. and I was ditching school a lot. if I wasn't hiding in the town library for 6 hours, I was at a friends who decided to ditch with me. I had my two reliables. and we always watched the abridged together. quoted it non-stop. eventually I was dating a lad for a month, and when we broke up (he had the same friends as me), HE started quoting the abridged with them as well cause they showed it to him. made me MAD! lmao

it was also something I watched every time we went on a ride to look at houses during the recession in 2009-2010. those long drives. abridged kept me and my brother sane lol

and then cut to being online with online friends, and tumblr, we all shared the abridged love with each other.

it was just unfortunate the episodes were rarer at that point but definitely... more frequent than they are now. they were coming out prob around 4.... times a year. maybe? whereas they used to be weekly. so that was a big change.

and now they're once a year. you're lucky if there's 2.

but here's the thing.

yeah its a parody. but idk... the fact that you can just pick up where you left off every time and not be a confused mess makes me happy. the fact that the characters are so distinctive and you never forget their personality traits is amazing to me.

I'm just proud of LK bc he could have dropped it a long time ago. I've seen youtube channels have their hype years and then fans disappear CONSTANTLY. video views going from 2.5 mill to maybe 30k. it happens.

but a good chunk of people who have been watching the abridged now for 15 years now or more still get excited when a new once a year ep drops. you just pick it up, have a giggle fest, wipe away a tear and then move on. never sitting there in anticipation for the next cause you know it'll be a while. just... happy to go on youtube and see one randomly there on a random day when you're not looking for it.

I cant even breathe rn, I watched the movie 4 hours ago and here’s my (now) settled thoughts about it.

so I have been a fan of this show since it came out, god I was FUCKING 16 then and now I’m 24 jfc…. it’s so wild how much time has passed.

now, the main show was SO good until season 4. I stopped watching the show all together because of how messy the plot was, Gabriel being the biggest pos known to man & how stalkerish they made Marinette (not to mention totally delulu and borderline insane (though, with all due respect, its a lot for a 15? 16 year old ???) but they could have written it better imo.)

not only Marinette but Adrien still being a small minor role (it’s always ladybug doing the damn thing but chat noir is left doing nothing it’s fucking sad he deserves so much better) and him just being shit on the last 3 seasons. he deserves more screentime and character development.

I also couldn’t handle adrien being a senti-monster, but we ain’t gonna talk abt that.

so I left the fandom all together.

but this movie. this. god. damn. movie.

this is HOW THE SHOW SHOULD HAVE BEEN WRITTEN IN THE FIRST PLACE. the character development with Marinette and Adrien is AMAZING and feels more realistic to me— they really drive on how unlucky Marinette is and how lucky adrien is (to an extent for adrien, but I digress). and the whole library scene made me giggle it was so cute. Marinette being infatuated but not a stalker was nice to see.

movie ladybug & chat noir sparked my feelings for the fandom all together. how cocky chat noir is, ladybug being anxious to fail but finding solace with chat made my heart all warm. every scene they had together I was kicking my feet and screaming like a child. (they own me, lol)

I have to specifically mention THE FUCKING FIGHT SCENE WHERE CHAT NOIR HAS LADYBUG PINNED TO THE WALL BC WHEN IT HAPPENED I HAD TO PAUSE, LEARN HOW TO BREATHE AGAIN, COLLECT MY THOUGHTS AND CONTINUE. THE PURE TENSION IN THAT MOMENT. “I really should go home now.” “don’t” DO YOU WANT TO KILL ME ?!?!?! GOD IM STILL SCREAMING ABT IT 😭😭😭 they had electric hearts babe DONT EVEN LIE

their chemistry in the film just. made me feel things. they have an amazing dynamic and it was utilized. i wish it was more prevalent in the show series—the banter was everything.

I definitely was caught off guard when cristina wasn’t singing, but I got used to it

chloe being chloe but not overdoing it made me :)))).

even alya and nino were written exceptionally.

gabriel was extremely well written, might just be the best character that was re-vamped imo. his storyline made sense and it wasn’t completely heartless…. using the miraculous and him slowly getting weaker and weaker made so much sense. (the musical number tho, SO FUNNY)—but god, when he found out chat noir was adrien he stopped. stopped everything. he loves his son so much, just as much as he loves emilie. we’ll see where the potential next movie goes with him, but lord his character is what I wish show gabriel was like.

the end scene at the ball made my jaw DROP. marinette looked amazing in her dress oh my god— and then the almost kiss I was MAD but also happy bc after that it opened the door for a sequel so ILL TAKE IT.

also when marinette takes off adrien’s mask and puts it on was so fucking cute 😭 the atmosphere was all warm and wholesome.

also giving props to chloe because her gold dress ate down.

I'm defo going to try and watch more shows like this (if i can find any) one character kind of annoys me a bit cause the minute you think shes good and you can trust her she does something that makes you think otherwise. anyway if you havent seen any show thats like this before and you want to I defo reccomend this show if you like Action, government conspiracy (for good) and a lil comedy too it sucks that it ends at season 5 tho i will forever be grateful that i got told about this show i am going to miss it!

av v utd : for me, a draw i’m guessing but either could pull through.

everton v brighton : i think brighton may pull it off, defo up for a high mid table clash.

bris v leicester : leicester maybe? not sure acc, bristol has some good youngens.

ars v lpool : arsenal win but liverpool is a tad more dominant on the pitch, they showed good prospect last season but big game at emirates might spur arsenal on that bit more.

hammers v city : city for defo.

YEAAAAH! oh man i have SO many thoughts. so here's my favorite straw hats from most liked -> neutral (i love literally all the straw hats i do not dislike a single guy)

luffy, being the GOAT he is, just has to stay on top. it's crazy because i am not usually a "protagonist is my favorite" kind of guy, in fact usually the protag is my least favorite of the main trio. however. luffy. yeah he's just the best, i love him so dearly.

i am, unfortunately, a sanji stan. i've been through the TRENCHES however i have come out the other end strong. god gives his greatest warriors his toughest characters to love. i have so many thoughts about sanji specifically it makes me deranged. 844 and 851 are two of my favorite chapters.

i'm also obsessed with jinbe an insane amount. i wish he joined the crew earlier just so i could see him more. i need to hang out with him all the time.

and zoro is just, so fucking awesome. again i have so many thoughts between his fight in baratie, nothing happened, and his stuff in wano that i'm nuts about but . Yeah . zoro <3

everyone else below top 4 switches around a lot, i think usopp is probably one of, if not, the most developed character in the straw hats. nami has slowly won me over after being my least favorite. robin has done similarly, esp recently with some of her stuff in egghead. chopper is adorable, i love brook, and franky needs more screentime. he's had time to shine in egghead but i would like more of him pretty please (specifically him and jinbe would be ideal but i will take anything)

outside of straw hats, my favorite other characters are: Law, Coby, Kawamatsu, Mihawk, Crocodile, Tama, Shanks, Shirahoshi, and Yamato.

as far as the island i'd live on, i do have the inklings of a one piece sona forming and he's a shipwright living on water seven! i'd like to mess around with the backstory and stuff more now that i've gotten a better sense of the world, but he uses armament haki instead of hammers or "traditional tools" because it's just easier for him.

thoughts on egghead! spoiler warning (though i'll talk vaguely--but still proceed with caution), but yeah egghead is actually insane. i'm so glad i caught up when i have because i feel like we're in the thick of it and i'm incredibly tense and excited to see where it all goes. the Big Thing (you know the one) was something i WAS mildly spoiled on, however that didn't stop the impact from really hitting. outside that, and a spoiler around marineford (iykyk) that i was aware of going in, i avoided pretty much most other big spoilers. i did know gear 5 existed (from fanart), but i didn't know what it was and was completely surprised by it.

i have watched some of the anime! i actually watched a decent chunk of enies lobby, skypiea, and some of the really early arcs and eps. i also watched The Big Episode in wano and like the last 5 episodes in egghead because the animation has been insanely cracked. i did watch pretty much everything on One Pace outside the post-timeskip stuff because i was trying to avoid filler, but i'll probably go back at some point and just binge the anime for fun. i'll defo end up re-reading chunks of the manga anyways so!

the live action is fun so far! i'm actually watching it with my family, because they're not really animation fans and this was the only way i could convince them to get into it. we've gotten through 2 eps, but i've seen up until episode 4 (watched with some friends). excited for season 2! i think some of the characterization choices they make to luffy and shanks feel a little Weird (shanks would NEVER tell luffy to "be good" and luffy wouldn't make moral distinctions between pirates) but i get they have to . make luffy a more "normal" protagonist, but i think that takes away some of his charm. the way they've managed to squeeze the pacing down is pretty impressive and while i wished we'd get more of the impactful moments, i get why things had to be cut. overall solid and i'm excited to continue watching it!

8. Our Skyy 2

To be fair it’s the only new ohmnanon thing so I’ll take it but did we really need a season 2. What’s more insightful about this is how many couples have been produced over the last year or so.

7. A Boss and a Babe

The first thing that strikes me is the name (uhhhh). Like I love forcebook but I don’t have much faith in gmmtv office bls. Also, In the trailer it felt like, suddenly their together so hopefully it will make more sense once it’s out.

6. Hidden Agenda

Cute little storyline, joongdunk doing a university set bl makes a lot of sense. I do feel like joong continuously plays the same character, like this cold dude that speaks only one line at a time and can be furiously flirty kinda. Also, whenever dunk cries I can’t take him seriously cause of his deep ass voice.

5. Cooking crush

Definitely will be watching, it’s offgun so it gonna be good. Looks great and this comedic, romance has similarities to puppy love. We love Neo as well.

4. 23.5

MILKLOVE finally, I think gmmtv are going to regret not doing a gl sooner. And it also has a bl side storyline. I really hope it does well!!! The plot looks really cute, how sun doesn’t know who earth is and yeh looks GREAT

3. Dangerous Romance

This one particularly gives me the vibe that gmmtv has prepared this to be the bigger series of 2023/24. Love the whole enemy to lovers, rich, poor thing but I feel like the trailer was a bit messy but maybe that’s a good thing as I want to watch it. I am excited to see chimon in a series even though since safe house not as much :)

2. Last Twilight

Now, looking at the poster I really wouldn’t of thought this was going to be that good, as it was giving titanic vampire kinda. However, y’all the doctor telling Seas character he has 180 days left, nearly made be cry. Wasn’t the biggest vice versa enjoyer but this has truly blown me away. Especially with Seas acting!!!! It looks really good and the plot and what can I say it’s p’aof again.

1. Only Friends

Wouldn’t of thought gmmtv would be pulling a series showcasing a group of friends who are tangled in gay messes and sex but here we are. Also, has some great pairings and FIRSTKHAO. Gotta give a shout out to Neo as well like that was not on my bingo card but slay I guess. I just hope we don’t have to wait for long…

CHERRY MAGIC RANT:

NOW, let’s talk about the Cherry Magic adaption. It doesn’t have a trailer yet so I didn’t put it up their but I would say it’s giving top 5 material. Personally, don’t really care that they are doing an adaption too. Obviously cherry magic (Japanese Vers) is AMAZING, was waiting for every ep every week when it was airing and now there’s a movie so for taynew there will defo be comparisons. However, they’re adapting from the novel. I’m just glad we will get taynew after like 4 years. I will say this will probably be out in 2024 though.
