Thank you @annepi-blog
1 Favorite season 1 episode. Yes, Laryngitis - the development of Kurt’s (and Burt’s) story. The music is brilliant in this episode plus Rachel can’t sing. Rose’s Turn is epic, and Pink Houses!
2 Favorite season two episode: Prom Queen. The Klaine moments are so special, when Blaine asks him to dance - that is my favorite Klaine scene. Plus it’s just such a fun episode - serenading Brittany, dress shopping, Santana the bully whip, Samcedes, Jesse v Finn.
3 Favorite season three episode. I think The First Time. I just love the Klaine of it all. The stuff with Sebastian. West Side Story.
4 Favorite season four episode. Probably Dynamic Duets. Or Guilty Pleasures. Probably because they are so Blaine based, a happier Blaine, and I just love the Blam friendship. Clueless dorks. Taking on the Warblers was fabulous - that Dalton scene with Hunter. Plus the music is great
5 Movin Out or The PuppetMaster
I love Bill Joel, and the small Klaine content, but also the friendship of the five of them. And the PM is just great Blaine, plus the Darren/Jane scenes are so good.
6 Favorite scene 6. Either Dreams come true or 2009. Wrapping it all up.
7 Episode that makes you cry. I never cried at QB, it just sits sorely in my brain. There are some little scenes that make me cry. Like when Kurt cries in jagged little tapestry. Or the Break Up scenes
8 Episode that makes me laugh. I already mentioned DD and GP, puppet master. I’d also add Vitamin D, Bad Reputation, Big Brother
9 Favorite tribute episode. Oh most of them. The Power of Madonna, Rumors, Michael, Dance with Somebody, Movin out, the two Beatles
10 Favorite Christmas - Extraordinary Merry Christmas - the old style film
11 Episode with best songs. Definitely The Break Up, Dynamic Duets, the two Beatles
12 Favorite sectionals -probably Special Education for the songs
13 Favorite regionals Original Songs. Not all the songs, but of course, the Klaine storyline
14 Favorite nationals episode. City of Angels as they all got a turn. They deserved to win.
15 Episode most people like but I don’t. Tested. Old dog new tricks Furt
16 Episode i love most people don’t. Yeah Puppet Master. Feud. Shooting Star
Thanks for the ask - tagging @shame-is-a-wasted-emotion @coffeegleek and anyone else
Thank you @fallevs for tagging me in the Glee game!
1. Favourite season 1 episode: Laryngitis (1x18) I was torn between this episode and Theatricality. But I decided to go with the episode that gave us Rose's Turn.
2. Favourite season 2 episode: Born This Way (2x18) The hardest decision for me, as there were so many great songs and very coherent storylines this season. Especially the narrative around Kurt is very good. I was thinking of either Prom Queen because of the beautiful story around Kurt and Blaine. But I decided to go with Born This Way because I love the music here, 4 out of 5 songs are in my Glee playlist. Somewhere Only We Know is definitely in my top 5 Glee songs, Born This Way is iconic, and As If We Never Said Goodbye just shows how good Chris/Kurt can sing.
3. Favourite season 3 episode: The First Time (3x05) It's rather difficult for me to decide here, because I found the season weaker, especially after season two. There is again a lot of good music, but the story has only scattered highlights for me, the characters don't do much and some story strands are not consistent. I like the music in Michael and Dance with Somebody but the story is only ok. I like the (sad) story of Karofsky in On My Way, but the episode is too packed for me. I chose The First Time because of the Klaine story and the good West Side Story music.
4. Favourite season 4 episode: The Break-Up (4x04) Please don't hate me, but I love a good cry. And maybe the authors could have come up with something other than cheating (I feel like that's the only thing the authors know to end any relationship?!) But I thought the whole situation was so realistic and well written. They are just 17 or 18 year old boys in their first relationship. Misunderstandings and mistakes are just part of it. I like that they have time to develop independently, and it's even nicer when they get back together. I also love the music in this episode.
5. Favourite season 5 episode: New New York (5x15). I love the New York story; I love domestic Klaine; I love the friendship between Blam and Kelliot; I love the glitter rock vampire scene; I love that Klaine is arguing, communicating, and making adult decisions. I love many of the songs.
6. Favourite season 6 episode: Dreams Come True (6x13) I thought it was a great ending for Glee, especially in combination with the 2009 episode. Is it realistic that all Glee Club members are super successful and famous? Who cares! I loved that the main characters all had a great future written for them. And I love that Klaine become parents in canon.
7. Episode that makes me cry: The Quarterback (5x03) and The Break-Up (4x04).
8. Episode that makes me laugh: Puppet Master (5x07) I love puppet master Blaine!
9. Favourite tribute episode: Michael (3x11) This is difficult, the tributes are always very good. I'll take Michael, but more for the music.
10. Favourite Christmas episode: In A Very Glee Christmas (2x10), I LOVE Baby It's Cold Outside. But for the story, I like Glee, Actually (4x10) better.
11. Episode with the best songs: I can hardly decide, there are so many good ones. The first episode that comes to my mind where I like every song is Duets (2x04).
12. Favourite sectionals episode: Hold on to Sixteen (3x08) The Unitards' number is great; the Troubletones' singing is great (don't hate me, but the costumes and choreography aren't for me); I love the New Directions' setlist, everyone gets a chance to shine and the songs form a good unit.
13. Favourite regionals episode: I just realized that I find the regionals setlist all just ok. I'll take Journey to Regionals (2x22) because of Bohemian Rhapsody.
14. Favourite nationals episode: City of Angels (5x11) I have to say that I liked the New Directions setlist here better than in season 3. Even though Paradise by the Dashboard Light is of course great, I never liked the focus on one soloist or couple in competitions. I just like it when everyone sings together. And they were so much better than Throat Explosion.
15. Episode most people like but I don’t: I can just agree with @fallevs. Blame It on the Alcohol (2x14) Although I think the party is generally fun, I hate Rachel's selfishness. There is ONE other gay teenager who her gay best friend likes and she is trying to start a relationship with him. Because he can sing. Even though there are 99% other straight boys at her school and she knows that Kurt likes Blaine. The same goes for the Kurt is biphobic thing. He's a boy in love who is hurt by his crush, and the writers didn't write that argument well.
16. Episode most people dislike but I like: Again Puppet Master (5x07) I just love puppet master Blaine. He is so funny.
I tag @kirakiwiwrites @mynonah @1908jmd @rockitmans @daisyishedwig @cryscendo @esilher but no pressure!

Have you ever done a ranking list of your favourite episodes?
not really , the thing with me is that i never rewatch tv shows . i binge through them once and then just watch few scenes in yt , but never rewatch any of it even if it was one of my favourite show. Glee is the only exception , though i really only watch very few eps from the earlier seasons and rewatched s5-s6 twice , though i’d skipped 100, new directions and the wedding during both my rewatches. there are eps like new new york and wonderful that i watch time to time as comfort eps playing in the background . from s3, first time and big brother are the only eps i have rewatched
i’d only watched glee for the first time last year , so like it’s not been that long to warrant a rewatch , but since i’d binged most of it in one stretch ( had taken a one month break b/w s3ep7 and ep8 because of how much i was getting tired of the shitty storylines of s3 , hence it being my least fave ) i forgot a lot of the non klaine stuff.
but i’ll try to rank the eps , just know that i’m very biased to klaine/kurt/blaine storylines . and the seasons too are ranked in the order i like them

4. untitled rachel berry project
3. frenemies
2. tested
1. new new york
now top five glee episodes over all
5. original song : don’t ask me what happened besides klaine in this because i truly don’t remember . but the klaine parts are pure heavenly. s2 klaine is something i missed a lot and didn’t appreciate enough during my first watch but rewatching some klaine centric eps has made me appreciate their friendship a lot more. even the stuff leading upto the kiss is fantastic , it’s also an ep that shows how rachel and blaine can get similar but how they react to criticisms and how blaine tries to include everyone when pointed out unlike making a fit out of it with rachel is where they diverge and makes these incredibly different personalities .and the kiss was just to good and sparks were flying everywhere and it is something that glee could never recreate with any other couple. and “ reminds you of your mom’s funeral doesn’t it “” the casket was bigger but yes “ just proves that they are equally dumbasses that fit each other so well
4. wonder-ful : this is just pure comfort ep. it’s so bright and upbeat in the middle of the previous dark eps. so much kurt and klaine . a bit more focus on kurt’s mental health issues, which will later be forgotten but it’s good over here. supportive blaine as always just highlighting how much they understand each other. a lot of burt which is always a plus . a very good mercedes plotline which should’ve been given more time but still is one of the better ones she gets.just seeing how light and loving kurt turns once burt is finally in the safe zone. and ‘you get kinda cute when you get nervous’ and ‘with you in it a wondeful life’ and whatever homoerotic stuff that is going on b/w rachel and cassie
3. Loser like me : the pure angst . i love storylines where they hit the rock bottom from such a happy place and have to find their way to the top by leaning in on each other and supporting each other. great klaine scenes, s5b we where pushed to believe that kurt had it all together, but we finally got to see kurt being an absolute mess and realizing how he contributed to their relationship not working out instead of pitting it all on s4 cheating . confident got help all by himself in a better position blaine , rachel finally getting a storyline that’s interesting and makes her one to root for . This ep always gives me the chills and makes me excited for the rest of the season
2. Tested : It’s genuinely one of the funniest eps ever. amazing rachcedes moment . the guys presenting one of my fave family dynamics in the show. great samcedes and klaine plotline . and i love the way liab is shot , such a well choreographed performance and it really looks like chris and darren had so much fun doing it.
1. New new york : this ep is the perfect mixture of fluff , comedy and angst. And on top of that we get never tried before combination of dynamics like rachel and artie as well as our favourite dynamics like klaine, blam, kelliot . also , out of all the klaine plotlines, this feels to me the most realistic one and really shows how much they want to work out their highschool relationship into an adult setting but theyre still young clueless inexperienced couple who doesn’t really know what they’re doing but still trying to work it out the way they think is the best one to protect their relationship , showing how much they care for each other as we enter into the crazy hard parts of their relationship. also , to see these whole set of highschool friends trying to navigate their way into this busy adult life is so fun to watch .

Season 3, Episode 9- Extraordinary Merry Christmas
(Written by: Marti Noxon) (Directed by: Matthew Morrison)
Episode Rating: 6/10 holiday specials
Star of the episode: Rachel Berry
Quote of the episode: “Holy crap, I’m dating Kim Kardashian.” -Finn Hudson
Best moment: The New Directions singing for the homeless shelter
Song Rankings: (the best Christmas episode song wise)
1. Santa Baby - Santana Lopez
(Iconic/ it is a true tragedy that this scene was deleted/ Santana’s voice is chef’s kiss 😘)
2. Extraordinary Merry Christmas - Blaine Anderson & Rachel Berry
(I love this original song and I didn’t even realize it was an original until recently/ true Christmas spirit here/ Blaine & Rachel are a fun pair)
3. River - Rachel Berry
(I’m just a sucker for this song/ it’s so beautiful and sad/ Rachel’s voice is perfect)
4. All I Want for Christmas Is You - Mercedes Jones with New Directions
(this song was meant for Mercedes/ New Directions getting into the Christmas spirit by decorating the choir room is really cute)
5. Do They Know It’s Christmas - New Directions
(this is such a sweet scene at the homeless shelter/ Christmas joy all around)
6. Blue Christmas - Rory Flanagan
(my Rory baby ❤️/ such a great song for him/ he sounds perfect)
7. Christmas Wrapping - Brittany Pierce with Tina Cohen-Chang & the Cheerios
(such a cute song for Britt/ she looks so stinkin’ cute in her Santa dress)
8. My Favorite Things - Blaine Anderson, Kurt Hummel, Mercedes Jones & Rachel Berry
(Everyone sounds great just not a favorite song of mine)
9. Let It Snow - Blaine Anderson & Kurt Hummel
(I love a good Klaine Christmas song, but I’m not the biggest fan of this sped up version)
10. Santa Claus Is Coming to Town - Finn Hudson & Noah Puckerman
(They look cute but it’s just my least favorite of the episode idk why 🤷‍♀️)

12. Favourite sectionals episode: Hold onto sixteen (3x08) - I don’t know why this is my fave but I do love it. Welcome back Sam!!
13. Favourite regionals episode: Original Song (2x16) - does anything rival this? First Klaine kiss, silly original songs and a great one from Mercedes, two bops from the NDs.
14. Favourite nationals episode: Nationals (3x21) - the best setlist, a feeling of being tight knit group and chaos.
15. Episode most people like but I don’t: Extraordinary Merry Christmas (3x09) - a lot of people love this episode but I’m really not a fan. I don’t like most of the songs.
16. Episode most people dislike but I like:
Sweet Dreams (4x19) - I get why most people don’t like this episode but it’s up there with some of my favourites.

miasswier’s ultimate glee ranking: no 106
106. Extraordinary Merry Christmas
Tumblr media
Written by: Marti Nixon Directed by: Matthew Morrison
Overall Thoughts: This week on Glee, they shove as many Christmas songs as the cast could physically handle into one episode, we’re reminded that Damian McGinty won The Glee Project, and Rachel Berry takes up 75% of the screen time acting like a Real Housewife of Lima on crack. Thankfully, Kurt and Blaine get like 3 minutes of screen time that is sort of cute, and Sam makes a couple of good points, thereby reminding us that he should have never left in the first place (come on, Chord Overstreet, get it together), but it’s not enough to make up for The Rachel Berry Christmas Barf Show Spectacular, especially since they cut the best Klaine scene from the episode.
What I Like:
The few minutes of Klaine that we get is really sweet and cute. They’re such fucking dorks, and I love when the show highlights that.
When Rory says he wants to dedicate his song to the King and Kurt goes “Jesus?” and Blaine just bumps his shoulder, shakes his head, and mouths, “no” like oh my god.
As well, the Christmas special moments where it’s just Kurt, Blaine, Mercedes, and Rachel are pretty cute and funny. Basically the only moments of the episode with Rachel that don’t make me roll my eyes.
They did a good job of weaving the Sam and Sue stuff together, and of making a point that it’s important to give back. I think that was the point of Rachel spending almost the entire episode acting like a spoiled brat? God, I don’t know. Either way, it was a good point, and it was nice to see Sue being on the right side of an argument for once.
“I think these are the end times”
“Are you dressed as Han Solo and Luke Skywalker?” “No, that’s copyright infringement. Any resemblance to Star Wars characters is purely coincidental.”
Finn giving Rachel a star. When I first watched it I found it lame and narcissistic, but now I think it’s sweet. Given what’s going to happen in a season and a half, I’m glad they have that.
What I Don’t Like:
Finchel kissing under the mistletoe. I don’t know why they made Finchel kiss like…. Twenty time an episode this season? But it’s episode 9 and I’m already tired of seeing those two swap spit. It’s even more frustrating when you think of the fact that Santana and Brittany haven’t even kissed once at this point on the show.
The amount of songs in this episode is so out of control. And like, there’s some episodes like “Original Song” and “Michael” that can pull off having a song every two minutes, but this one just feels like a 40-minute ad for the Glee Christmas album.
Literally everything about Rachel in this story. There are… four scenes? I think? That she isn’t in? And she’s obnoxious in basically all of them. Also, what the fuck, she’s Jewish. They couldn’t have like… tailored her story to that? I mean, if she’s doing Hanukkah, doesn’t that mean she’s getting eight presents? Why didn’t they try and tailor the plot to that? At least it would have felt more… honest, I guess?
Going off the last point… everything in this episode is about Rachel. Like I said, there’s maybe four scenes that she isn’t in this episode. I guess they’re just setting us up for the Finn and Rachel overload coming up in the back half of this season, but honestly, I’m already tired.
I can’t believe they cut the box scene to make room for more of Rachel. I mean, it’s not like she had 35 minutes of screen time already. Plus, their scene could have been cut much shorter to include the Klaine scene. Like? Ugh.
Songs:
All I Want for Christmas is You: Starting off strong with Mercedes killing it, as always. Of course, it’s instantly followed by Finn and Rachel slobbering all over each other, but what can you do. Glee loves to ruin good things by injecting Finchel into them.
Blue Christmas: I do like this song, even if it’s pretty sad. Damian McGinty does have an amazing voice. It’s too bad they made him the most boring character imaginable.
River: I feel like they could have just played the scene of Rachel singing “Merry Christmas Darling” again and I would have had the exact same emotional response as I did to this song. This episode must have been great for Rachel Berry fans, but as someone who struggles to like her at all this season, I just didn’t care.
Extraordinary Merry Christmas: I’ve never liked this song. Yeah, it’s upbeat, but it always felt strange to stick an original song in there, and especially to have it sung by Rachel and Blaine, who I really don’t think sound good together. Honestly, I almost wish this had been a Finchel duet instead. Yeah, I would have been forced to watch them kiss again probably, but I feel like their voices go so much nicer together than Blaine and Rachel’s.
Let it Snow: Obviously my favourite song of the episode. It’s cute, it’s sweet, and I like how upbeat it is. I know a lot of people had issues with the tempo of it (I remember when the song was released a bunch of people slowed it down and were like “omg it sounds so much better!”) but I think it works. I like it.
My Favourite Things: They already had ten thousand songs in this episode, and they went an included one that’s not even in the album smh. Like, don’t get me wrong, it sounds good, and I wish there had been more Rachel/Mercedes/Kurt/Blaine songs, but still.
Santa Claus is Coming to Town: This song is ruined for me because I had to listen to it four times a day all December long during my seasonal job this year. I skipped the scene because I was having retail flashbacks.
Christmas Wrapping: Imagine if they had taken out this totally unnecessary song (or “My Favourite Things”) and kept the Box Scene? Ah, how wonderful that would have been.
Do They Know it’s Christmas?: It’s a nice song, but at this point I just want to shove a sock into all of their mouths and scream “STOP SINGING.”
Final Thoughts: I know it’s probably an unpopular opinion to have this episode ranked lower than “Previously Unaired Christmas”, but that one at least entertained me. This one doesn’t. I used to watch it every Christmas, along with “A Very Glee Christmas”, just to get me in the spirit, but now I can’t. I watch the Holiday Spectacular scenes (until Puck and Finn walk in) and that’s it. The rest of this episode just makes me so annoyed. I cannot.

So - looking at this list, I can definitely tell I grouped things by tens when I originally did this.  There may be some minor differences now (and I’ll be interested to see the differences when I do my within the season rankings for TDB Rewatch recap week).
Also - thinking season wise, I think it’s pretty clear how I feel.
Seasons 2 and 5 are my favorites - though I think season 2 has extreme highs and lows, while season 5 is more consistent.
Seasons 4 and 6 Idk if I could choose between - I think I like them equally, tbh.
Season 1 - which has some great things in the back 9, but the Front 13 always feels like a slog.
and Season 3.  Ug. But it does have some bright moments in it.

A Kurt and Blaine Fan’s Very Serious Guide to Glee
Are you a fan of Kurt, Blaine or Klaine? Are you thinking about rewatching Glee and aren’t sure what episodes to savor and what episodes to skip? Well -- I have just the guide for you.
Season 1
Pilot: Introduction to the show.  Apparently, Kurt is not the main character, or the secondary main character. Blaine does not exist.  Kurt sings Mr. Cellophane and is sassy. He also gets thrown in a dumpster.
3/10 Stars**
(Stars are based on how much Kurt and/or Blaine are in the episode, and have no bearing on quality of the episode.  Y’all should know that I’m good with my scientific evaluation of these episodes by now.)
Showmance: Kurt sits in the background and has less sassy remarks.
1/10 Stars
Acafellas: Kurt comes out to Mercedes and shows he’s more of a man than Will will ever be.
8/10 Stars
Preggers: Kurt comes out to his dad, scores the game winning goal in the football game, rocks out to Beyonce in a leotard, and proves he’s by far the most interesting character on this show.
10/10 Stars
The Rhodes Not Taken: Kurt cries when Kristin Chenoweth sings, and throws up on Emma’s shoes.
2/10 Stars
Vitamin D: Kurt wears cool sunglasses, and sides with the girls.
2/10 Stars
Throwdown: Sue refers to Kurt as gay kid.
1/10 Stars
Mash-Up: Kurt throws a slushie in his own face.
1/10 Stars
Wheels: Kurt challenges Rachel to a diva-off, and throws the high note in Defying Gravity to protect his father. We are all emotional.
10/10 Stars
Ballad: Kurt and Finn bond over their dead parents.
9/10 Stars
Hairography: Kurt makes over Rachel and wants to stuff a sock in her mouth.
7/10 Stars

1/10 Stars

1/10 Stars
Hell-O: Kurt gets a slushie in his face while walking with Rachel and Mercedes.
1/10 Stars
The Power of Madonna: Kurt and Mercedes make over Sue for the greater good. They become cheerleaders.
9/10 Stars
Home: Kurt sets up Carole and Burt, but is sad when Finn and Burt begin to bond, making him feel left out.  It’s tragic.  Pretty Kurt cries.
10/10 Stars
Bad Reputation: Kurt is a badass, posts Sue’s Physical video online, distracts people in the library, and tells Sue the truth.
8/10 Stars
Laryngitis: Kurt dresses like red-neck trucker, makes out with Brittany, tries to lower his voice an octave, and then sings a really angsty Gypsy song, and is generally glorious.
11/10 Stars
Dream On: Kurt is excited about bedazzled shit. Has no lines.
1/10 Stars
Theatricality: Kurt dresses up like Lady Gaga, stands up to bullies, sets up a love nest for Finn, and very theatrically kicks over a chair.
10/10 Stars
Funk: Kurt sings a 12 minute Celine Dion medley in French for the Cheerios. We don’t get to see it.
2/10 Stars
Journey to Regionals: Kurt, um, goes to regionals because they need 12 people.
1/10 Stars
Season 2
Audition: Kurt gets a slushy to his face. Becomes a main character - only not in this episode
1/10 Stars
Britney/Brittany: Kurt is very sassy about Britney Spears
3/10 Stars
Grilled Cheesus: Burt almost dies of a heart attack and Kurt is very sad.  Sings I Want to Hold Your Hand, and we all cry.  Also religion.
10/10 Stars
Duets: Kurt sings a duet with himself, which is vocal masturbation.  Also sings a duet with Rachel, which is just a duet.
10/10 Stars
The Rocky Horror Glee Show: Kurt dresses up as RiffRaff and hides in the background

10/10 Stars
Comeback: Kurt and Blaine are not in this episode.  I think it’s about Justin Beiber. They’re probably grateful they missed it.
0/10 Stars
Blame it on the Alcohol: Blaine still hasn’t figured out he’s in love with Kurt.  Gets very drunk and makes out with Rachel instead.  Kurt gets snarky.

Sexy: Blaine is sexy.  Kurt tries to be sexy.  Blaine talks to Burt about sex.  Burt talks to Kurt about sex.  The Warblers have a giant foam party.
9/10 Stars
Original Song: Kurt’s bird dies.  Blaine figures out he’s in love with Kurt. They kiss and are interrupted by a giant red piano.  Also Candles.
12/10 Stars
A Night of Neglect: The show neglects Kurt and Blaine are on it.  Stick them in a scene with Karofsky and Santana because all the gays together.
1/10 Stars
Born This Way: Kurt comes back to McKinley.  Tells everyone they should be themselves.  Blaine serenades Kurt in the court yard.  It’s all very romantic.  Barbra Streisand is not in a mall in Ohio.
10/10 Stars
Rumours: People think Kurt is secretly dating Sam. These people are dumb because he’s not.  He’s dating Blaine.  Sometimes the truth is what’s actually standing in front of you.
5/10 Stars
Prom Queen: Kurt rocks an epic look for prom.  Is voted Prom Queen.  Blaine asks him to dance. It is glorious.
10/10 Sparkly Stars
Funeral: Kurt and Finn help Sue plan her sister’s funeral.  Also Kurt auditions to be the star -- but fails because Lea Michele and Ryan Murphy are bff.
6/10 Stars
New York: Kurt and Rachel decide that they’re going to go New York forever. They sing on a Broadway stage.  Kurt decides Blaine will come with.  Also - I love you.
6/10 Stars
Season 3
The Purple Piano Project: Kurt and Blaine eye-fuck each other in the Lima bean because they aren’t actually having sex yet. Blaine transfers to McKinley, which is a totally great idea and has no repercussions whats so ever.  Blaine serenades Kurt in the courtyard round 2.
