Erigeron glaucus (seaside daisy)

Seaside daisy is native to the west coast of North America. Older sources describe it's range as restricted to California and Oregon but this seaside daisy, obviously, didn't get the memo. This Erigeron glaucus seems to be doing just fine, 400 miles (650km) north in Vancouver. Climate change is creating winners and losers. Seaside daisy is one of the lucky winners. All those forest fires raging out-of-control in North America represent the losing side of the equation.

My flower garden is in full swing!! Most of these are California natives and the bees have been out in force. I also have lots of CA poppies (the standard variety and some “moonglow” poppies that are yellow with orange centers.

Later in the season I’ll have Clarkia, which will last all summer. I freaking love my garden!
