8. Does your Shepard like to be alone? Are they prone to isolate?

Serena:

She absolutely likes to find a nice quiet spot to hide on whatever ship she's on from time to time. After being around people so much growing up and then going straight into the Alliance, privacy and being alone is something of a luxury that she likes to indulge in. During 2, she's definitely prone to isolate due to being on a Cerberus ship, and I think in 3 as well during the Tuchanka arc because she doesn't want to get in the way of Wrex and Eve (even though there's nothing to get in the way of, she isn't about to do ANYTHING to jeopardize Wrex getting to be a father).

Seamus:

Seamus HATES being alone. While it seems like he should enjoy being alone as a quiet lil engineer nerd, the opposite is true. A lot of his childhood was spent by himself, and after he met and grew to trust people in the Alliance, he ABHORS that absence. Being around people he doesn't trust feels like being alone to him, so 2 is rough until after he bonds with Ken and Gabby more. The only times he'll isolate is if he feels like he's been foisting himself on people too much, and thinks he needs to give them space.

18. Obligatory gang beach episode! What’s Shepard doing?

Serena:

Swimming in the ocean, scouring the sand for pretty shells. Once she's gotten a lot of therapy post-war, trying to use her biotics for body boarding and the like. I think she very much ditches everyone to just have some quality time with the unforgiving force of the ocean.

Seamus:

Slathering on sunscreen while wearing UV protection clothes. Baby boy is very fair-skinned Irish, he was not built for this. Jack is having a fantastic time trying to force the ocean waves to crash the way she wants with her biotics, and he's just enjoying watching his woman. Ashley and Kaidan do drag him into a game of beach volleyball, which he gets VERY into.

28. Who is your voicecast for Shepard? Is it Jennifer Hale/Mark Meer? Do they have an accent?

Serena:

I don't really have one for her, but I don't think it's Jennifer Hale. Something to think about!

Seamus:

Robert Sheehan's natural speaking voice. His first language is actually Gaelic, which his mom spoke to him while he was growing up

It can't be worse than N training, but she's EXTREMELY annoyed about how much more food she has to find for her stupid biotic metabolism

As the Citadel fell around him, Shepard thought about the Normandy. About every member of his crew. About Kaidan.

🎵 “It started out as a feeling,”

He remembered meeting the man, just before Eden Prime. Fighting aside him and Ash, with him on that last desperate sprint to the Conduit.

🎵 “Just because everything's changing, doesn't mean it's never been this way before.”

And then there was Alchera. Promising Kaidan he would be fine just as soon as he got joker to a pod. Struggling to breathe as his suit vented into the void.

🎵 “Now we're back to the beginning,”

And then there was Horizon. That terrible day. Kaidan looking at him like a traitor, a puppet dancing to the Illusive Man's tune, had broken something in his heart that he hadn't known was there. He thought of Kaidan when he destroyed the Collector Base

🎵 “But just because they can't feel it too, doesn't mean that you have to forget.”

Mars had been... hard. He had desperately wanted Kaidan to trust him again, had tried so hard to convince him, but there was little time for talking, and he wasn't comfortable baring his heart in front of Liara and her obvious, unwelcomed, crush on him.

Nevertheless the pain in his heart drove him to try. And it had been working, step by step.

🎵 “Pick a star on the dark horizon and follow the light.”

And then Eva Core had tried to collapse Kaidan's skull. He'd barely been able to tear him away from Kaidan's bedside, let alone sleep. And when he had slept, his dreams had been full of the words of the dead. The Vista of the Citadel's wards arcing out if the Widow Nebula had been as beautiful as ever, but it had been hard to think about anything but the paramedics EDI had called to meet them in the docking bay. Watching them take Kaidan away had filled him with a profound sense of dread.

🎵 “It's just a feeling and no one knows yet,”

"Maybe some things get better with age"

"Or maybe you have"

Kaidan chuckled. "Are you flirting with me, Commander? Wait, wait! Don't tell me. Let me live in the illusion"

Shepard's heart had skipped a beat there. He'd been going out on a limb and kaidan had been happy. Had encouraged him.

There was still an ache deep within his heart, but it was closing.

🎵 “You'll come back when it's over,”

Kaidan lowering his gun there on that Citadel had healed that secret hurt that he'd been nursing since Horizon. Their conversations on Mars and in Huerta had helped, but this one absolute moment of trust closed it forever, leaving naught but a memory.

🎵 “And then that word grew louder and louder 'til it was a battle cry,”

That date, that 'sanity check' at Apollo's Cafe. It had been... oh god it had been perfect. They'd both danced around the subject, just a bit, but in the end they'd come together and stuck that way.

And later, at the car lot, when he'd been running from CAT-6 and relying on his barriers and wits. He'd walked through a door to find Kaidan standing there in his armor and toying with mercs, and his relief, adrenaline, fear, and love had all mixed together to make that tableau the single hottest thing he had ever seen.

🎵 “All you can do is try to know who your friends are as you head off to the war,”

His thoughts went to that last party on the Citadel. All of his living crewmates had been there sharing moments both raucous and quiet. It had done his soul good. The cracks that had started with abandoning Ashley had finally begun to close. His favorite part had been the morning after. He'd woken up next to Kaidan and gone on to find his crew enjoying the morning quiet.

🎵 “Let your memories grow stronger and stronger ‘til they're before your eyes,”

The last memory was that of Kaidan coming up to his quarters just before the assault on Cerberus. Good drinks, a good talk, and even better sex. It had been the perfect night, even as death's specter loomed.

And then, he returned to present.

🎵 “Which then grew into a hope, which then turned into a quiet thought, which then turned into a quiet word,”

Just breathe. He repeated it to himself over and over, his cybernetics straining to keep him alive beneath the rubble. He could see teams searching the wreckage, but couldnt call out, because he had to focus on breathing.

He'd managed to tap into every eezo nodule in his body, pushing his biotincs to their limit on order to break his fall and keep himself from being utterly crushed, and it had still been just barely enough. But there was hope for him yet

As he started to slip away, he heard rescuers drawing close.

"Call the Normandy. We found him alive"

🎵 “No need to say goodbye,”

He awoke to several familiar sensations. The rubbing of soft sheets. The scent of flowers. Warm sunlight on his skin. A monitor beeping in time with his heart.

"Shepard?"

Kaidan was there next to him, holding some sort of report and looking dreadful. He also looked beautiful. Like the dawn after a long, cold night.

They spent a few quiet moments of relief together until EDI, who had of course hacked the hospital to keep an eye on his heart monitor, ushered everyone in. Or, well. All of them that could fit in a private hospital room.

The rains had passed, a beautiful new day had dawned, and they were all here to see it.

1. how many works do you have on AO3?

28, of which 11 are in German, 17 in English. Of the English fics, 2 are podfics and 1 is filk (for the lyrics someone else wrote). I should re-record that last one, I've become a much better singer since then.

2. what’s your total AO3 word count?

55,059 words

3. what fandoms do you write for?

Various, and rarely a lot in one fandom these days. Mass Effect and Rivers of London are my current go-to fandoms.

4. what are your top 5 fics by kudos?

What we're made of (Harry Potter: trans Viktor Krum at the Yule Ball with Hermione)

Sleepless Night (Good Omens: hurt/comfort double drabble about insomnia)

The Darkest Prison (Rogue One: pre-canon Baze/Chirrut fic about the early days of Imperial occupation and Baze's loss of faith in the Force)

The first 3 are no surprise because they're all in rather big fandoms. The first one was for the "Trans Wizard Tournament" so it got lots of readers from there. The next two contain popular ships of their fandoms. The last two are a bit of a surprise, but they haven't that many kudos overall, just more than the others, and they are both from Yuletide and probably get some of their readers from there. The rest of what I write is either in niche fandoms or very niche within a bigger fandom or not in English.

Yep, although I can take a while.

6. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Under the burning sun (Mass Effect: Kaidan and Shepard go back to Virmire to grieve Ashley)

A fic about two survivors of a mission grieving their colleague who died on said mission. One feels responsible because he made the decision who to leave behind, the other feels guilty because he was saved while his colleague was left to die. Doesn't get any angstier than that in my book.

7. what’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Phew hard to say, perhaps it's "Spürst du die Funken" (see my answer to the translation question)

8. do you get hate on fics?

Never got any hate mail, but then I don't have much of an audience either so the chances are slim.

9. do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I started recently, as in, over the last 1.5 years or so. There's one unpublished and unfinished fic that was actually the first, which only consists of a series of sexual fantasies so far but will lead to inadvisable undernegociated kinky sex between two characters who suck at communication and have loads of emotional baggage between them. There's another one that I actually published, a ... kind of weird metaphysical sex scene in which two characters have sex in the real world but also one of them has sex with the other's metaphysical alter ego on another plane of existence.

10. do you write crossovers?

I have 1 crossover WIP that I haven't touched in a long time, Rivers of London x The Old Guard, re:immortality. I tend to be intimidated by them because doing the different sources materials justice within one work sounds more challenging than if it's just one on its own.

11. have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I'm aware.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Nope, but there's a half finished translation into English of one of my German fics, a HP Dean/Seamus getting together story with gray-aromantic bi Dean and gay Seamus.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Yes, with @shakespearerants, but it's not published yet.

Also, the vast majority of my writing output (easily 20-30k words a year, used to be as high as 50k) is for a forum-based, long-form text writing RPG, which may count as co-writing and may count as fic.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you will?

I once wrote a 70k Harry Potter fanfic in German, a schoolgirl romance between Minerva McGonagall and Pomona Sprout (with my own character backgrounds for them). It would need much editing to be in any way presentable - the text is missing the character arcs I intended to put in it, I decided to change one of the characters' age and school year halfway in, and the ending would need a lot more preparation to be satisfying. And while I'm proud to have written 70k words of fanfic, I cannot overstate how little interest I have in connecting with others over Harry Potter these days, and I wouldn't enjoy interacting with readers about it. So I'm never going to share it and it's never going to be anything else than a first draft.

Edit: I just noticed I read the question wrong (I was very tired yesterday), but I'll keep my answer that way because the point stands: I'd like to have finished it because more satisfying than having written a 70k fic would be having it polished and published, but for aforementioned reason that's not going to happen.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Writing distinct character voices, I think. At least in German.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Dialogue! It always takes a lot of editing work to make it lively.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Ohh, lots. Basically the question is "what are you trying to achieve"? Why would the character do it? If you write dialogue in another language, which of the characters understands it, and do you want your readers to understand it? If two characters switch languages, why not say "[...] she said in French"?

The one fic in which I put the most thought about how to convey language is probably "What we're made of", the trans Viktor Krum fic, which is written from his perspective, but I elected not to add a orthographic representation of his accent, because he wouldn't be aware of it. I did give him some grammatical errors that I thought native speakers of Bulgarian might make in English - but just in direct speech and not in his internal monologue (all errors are mine there) because I assume his internal monologue to be in Bulgarian.

I did use some cyrillic, namely I used the spelling of "Hermione" from the Bulgarian HP4, from the scene in which Hermione tells him how to pronounce her name, because he would think about the pronounciation by way of the cyrillic spelling.

Also there's this sentence: "She pronounced his name ‘Victor’, as if it was English. A short i, the o as a short a, almost like ъ, and the r in that strange way English people pronounced their r, with bared front teeth." (ъ being the Bulgarian cyrillic letter for a schwa sound)

I haven't had any good opportunities to actually write dialogue in another language. One reason would be if the character was code switching, but then I'd want to be sure (in most cases) that readers who don't speak the language could still follow, so I probably wouldn't put the whole dialogue in another language, just a phrase or two, and have another character react to that. It could be fun as an easter egg for readers who speak both.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

The first story for which I tried writing a continuation was some horse book set in Cornwall with Endurance riding.

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

Always the one I finished last? I don't know. I'm always proud that they're finished, and they all scratch an itch.

CURRENT POLITICAL POSITION:

Seamus is feeling conflicted at the moment. On one hand, he still harbors a lot of hatred for the Death Eaters and all who aided them, and very much wants to see them brought to justice. On the other, the events of the war and his experience at Hogwarts during Snape’s reign has left him deeply distrustful of, and aggressive towards, any form of authority or group of people considering themselves to be the “good guys”. Part of him remains loyal to Dumbledore’s Army, and another part of him resents what, in his opinion, a group of purebloods put halfbloods and muggleborns through in their desire to play hero. In summary, I’d say he belongs to the New Order but is questioning his belonging there.

REASON FOR REDEMPTION:

Seamus has been struggling with a lot of anger since the war, and has become unsure of his belonging in the magical world altogether.

PERSONALITY TRAITS: (+,-)

+ Outgoing — Seamus has never had a problem with shyness, that’s for sure. He’s able to make conversation with just about anyone (whether or not they’re left with a good impression of him, however, is another matter entirely).

+ Determined — When Seamus decides he cares about someone, he’ll stick with them even being all logic and reason. When he makes up his mind to do something, he stops at nothing to get it done. He knows what he’s about, and he sticks to it.

+ Adventurous — When the opportunity for a good time or a cool story presents itself, Seamus doesn’t hesitate to accept. He’s willing to take on more than his fair share of risk, and after all, it usually turns out okay in the end.

- Volatile — Seamus doesn’t always have proportionate reactions to things. He can be quick to anger, but also quick to sadness, quick to joy, or quick to excitement. He’s also particularly bad at hiding his emotions, no matter how much he wishes he would have a better poker face.

HEADCANONS:

— Seamus’s parents had him very young, and, as he used to be fond of saying, he’s half-and-half. The stress of a muggle-magical marriage, and his father’s resentment of such a secret being kept until after marriage, led to them splitting up when Seamus was a small child. He spend almost all of his childhood just him and his mother, and barely knows his dad. He’s considering getting to know him more now, but, like a lot of things, Seamus is still harboring a lot of anger over the situation.

(I’d like to change the skeleton so Seamus’s mother is still alive if that’s okay. I have some plot ideas that require her around haha.)

— Seamus’s favorite subject in school was transfiguration. You wouldn’t know it to look at his marks (worst in his year Gryffindors, in most subjects!), but he was actually pretty good at the practical coursework. The long essays McGonagall used to set, as well of the difficult exams, were another matter entirely. Seamus has had rather explosive, uncontrollable magic his whole life, which has gotten him into some trouble more than once. But something about the precise, focused control required in the subject gives him more powerful magical results than he’s typically used to.

— When they were fourteen, Dean came to stay with Seamus in Ireland in preparation of attending the Quidditch World Cup. One day while his mother was at work, Seamus talked Dean into taking the family car for a joyride into the big city, where they spent the day. Amazingly, they got away with it.

— After the war, Seamus began hanging out in the Hog’s Head, doing (more than a little) drinking. Eventually, he managed to talk Aberforth into letting him help out a bit at the Inn, including introducing a very limited menu which excercises Seamus’s newfound interest in cooking. Besides Aberforth, he’s developed a few new friendships with some of the other regulars, including Winky who sometimes visit when she’s looking for something a little stronger than what the Hogwarts kitchen has to offer.

CONNECTIONS:

⚔ Dean Thomas: best friends

Within the first few weeks of their Hogwarts careers, Dean and Seamus had become best friends and have been ever since. There’s no one in the world Seamus would rather spend time with, and no one he feels understands him better, than Dean. But their vastly different experiences during the last year of the war seems to have driven some sort of wedge between them — try as Seamus might to pretend it doesn’t exist.

⚔ George Weasley: close friends

Seamus knew George a bit during school, but he’s gotten to know the man even more since the war. He likes George, and considers him in some ways to have a lot of the best qualities of Ginny (who he also considers a good friend) with none of the baggage of the worst year of his life that comes with the former students who were with him in the revamped Dumbledore’s Army.

⚔ Roderick Flint: suspicious of

Roderick has many of what Seamus considers to be the worst qualities in a person: pureblood, wealthy, Slytherin. He doesn’t know much of the man, as they’ve never run in similar circles or been involved in similar activities, but he can’t imagine anything good about him.

⚔ Gregory Goyle: annoyed by

The nice thing about Goyle, if there was such a thing, is that Seamus has always understood exactly the sort of person he was. The worst thing about Goyle was everything else.

18. rant about your favorite musician 

alright, so, let’s just start with the fact that George Harrison’s solo music in the 70s is actually perfection. he put out bangers and bops left and right and i don’t think he gets enough love and admiration for his amazing solo work. Living in the Material World is actually the best album i’ve ever listened to with All Things Must Pass hitting a close second. If you wanna feel some shit, i recommend giving the former a listen. both of these albums give me hard magick vibes and they’re really spiritual without being annoying about it. it’s just George genuinely loving and embracing his spirituality and mixing it with his love of song writing.

i don’t listen to religion music like e v e r but Georgie boy has perfected his craft and honestly threw open the doors of spirituality for me. i’m not religious by any means but i’ve found a sense of spirituality without the dogma of a religion to bog me down and it’s all thanks to George. he’s kinda been a guiding force in my life as i’m changing a lot of myself currently and he’s been a great influence.

also i would like to congratulate my boy on learning how to tone down the sitar since his Beatles days. it’s still there in some songs (which i love) but it blends into the other instruments and gives a calming and trace-like quality to the songs. a great example of this is Be Here Now (my favorite song). the sitar is subtle but still has such a hypnotic force that makes the song what it is and adds emotion depth to the beautiful lyrics.

if i had more time on my hands, i would say more. But, all in all, George is just perfect and i love him and his music.

6. What would they be doing, if Shepard never joined the alliance?

Serena: Honestly, I haven't thought a TON about her life pre-Alliance before. I think she would have joined up with something in search and rescue tbh. Something about the danger and physicality of it speak to her, as does helping people and doing good in the galaxy.

Seamus:

He is a sweet bean engineer, who leaves the Reds on rather explosive terms, to their detriment when the gang shifts into more hardcore stuff. So I think after that, he'd stowaway on a ship and make his way as a handy man/tech on whatever, until one day he meets a Quarian on their pilgrimage, and they just click. The thing that Quarian brings back from their pilgrimage

36. What is their relationship with Wrex?

Serena:

Lol. They're so in love with each other, it makes them look stupid. Bioware is wrong, Wrex is romanceable in my heart, and by golly, Serena is gonna be the one to smooch that krogan. It starts for both of them in 1 as mutual respect that then morphs into friendship. Serena is fascinated by krogan culture and history, genuinely curious about it. Learning about most of the other races is easy enough on the extranet, but there isn't much on krogan. Once Wrex realizes she's genuinely interested for no other reason than wanting to learn, he warms up significantly.

2 is a straight up terrible time for Serena. She's very angry, bordering on self-destructive right up until Tuchanka. Seeing Wrex again, spending time together during the celebrations after Grunt's rite, learning more about the krogan from the Shaman and seeing Tuchanka, she finds herself a little more. There's a reason to make it back from the Omega relay now, and she's going to do it dammit. She starts talking to the crew more, if only to make sure they're a cohesive enough unit to not die and get her back alive.

If 2 was a terrible time for Serena, 3 is somehow worse for a bit, at least wrt Wrex. While she is thrilled beyond words about curing the Genophage, it's only too obvious (to her only) after rescuing Eve that she and Wrex will be working to rebuild the krogan people ((poor James is about to lose his MIND because how can nobody else see that the Commander and krogan clan leader are ridiculously in love??)). They talk it out tho, and finally get together. Wrex stays on the Normandy for the most part, going with her on missions, being a rock solid source of strength.

(((sorry for rambling on this one so long, but I love the krogans SO MUCH, and I can talk forever about their potential history, lore, and the implications of the genophage on their culture, which is all super tied into this relationship)))

Seamus:

There is a mischievous, puckish streak in Seamus a mile deep. Not many things trigger it, but when they do, hoo boy, he will cause SO much trouble on purpose. The treatment of the krogan in the galaxy is something Seamus does not care for in the least bit, and he very much enjoys ruffling authoritative feathers. This culminates in Seamus bringing Wrex all over the Citadel, cause he knows the higher ups don't like it. Wrex thinks it's hilarious, and fully enjoys knowing someone with Spectre status enjoys causing trouble with him on purpose.

Serena:

Spoons, and other similar games like bullshit. Honestly, just board/card games in general, but not poker or anything with gambling involved. Those she just makes sure to gamble with skimmed credits in

In 1971, Pink Floyd recorded a song with this dog named Seamus

Some of the earlier and more prolific adopters of sampling, Pink Floyd wrote a score of now-iconic songs using wacky soundbites. There’s the cash register in the opening of Money, the slop which introduces Alan’s Psychedelic Breakfast or the short radio broadcast precluding Wish You Were Here, to name a few.

Seamus was the name of the lucky pup who barked his way into one of these recordings. Seamus, the last track on the A-side of Meddle (which leads into the sprawling 23-minute Echoes) features this good boy on… backup vocals I guess?

Seamus was a German Shepard belonging to Small Faces and Humble Pie frontman Steve Marriot, who was delighted to one day find out his best friend would howl in tune to music.

Seamus, the song, was received largely with distaste, from critics who were obviously taking themselves too seriously. Speaking of the song, David Gilmour has said: “It wasn’t really as funny to everyone else [as] it was to us.”

Pink Floyd would go on to never play Seamus onstage due to logical, dog-related difficulties. They did, however, play the song with a Russian Wolfhound named Nobs in the Live At Pompeii documentary.

"I...i was wondering if you guys had an opening on the cheer squad,I heard Wendy hurt her...." Jenna held her finger up

"Uh I'm gonna stop you right there Marnie,we will never be so desperate that'd we'd accept a spaz like you,maybe you should audition for the mascot" she laughed then left Marnie to sulk

Jenna knew she probably could have been nicer,broke it to Marnie she just didn't have "It" but Marnie had been hounding them since freshmen year

She wasn't Hot like the rest of them,she was a nerd and they could let a nerd be part of the squad

But Jenna didnt have time to fret about that,she had to get ready for homecoming

It was going to be a homecoming none of them would ever forget

The music played and everyone danced,Jenna danced with Patrick,head Quarterback,and unrefuted King of the School,and Jenna was his Queen

As the night went on finally Principal Shepard came up on stage

"Attention students it is time to crown your Homecoming King and Queen!"

Everyone cheered as Britney came on stage holding the two envelopes,she gave Jenna a wink

"Thank you Miss Masson,now your homecoming King is.....Patrick Yates!"

All of the cheered and yelled as Patrick got on stage and put on his crown

"And your homecoming Queen is...oh what a nice surprise Marnie Cooper!"

There was a silence as Marnie slowly made her way to the stage

Her homecoming dress was red and would have hugged her body if it wasn't a hand-me-down from a obviously more endowed older sister or mother

She had teased up her hair and even did a alright job with the make up

She let out a audible gulp as Principal Sheppard placed the crown on her

Jenna smiled "now" she said on the walkie talkie

Before Marnie could react a bucket of water dropped and drenched the poor girl,the bucket ended up hitting Principal Sheppards foot causing him to slip on the water and fall from the stage

There was a silence then laughter

Marnie was hysterical as her classmates just kept laughing at her

Marnie was surprised "o....Kay" she said signing the contract

Seamus Mcallister grabbed her glasses from her face,they glowed a feint red then vanished in a puff of smoke

"Aye lass yer gonna love what I have in store for yer girl" he said vanishing in a puff of red and black smoke

Funny enough we don’t actually know who the fuck this dog is. It says on the Wiki that the song on which it features “Seamus” was named after a Border Collie that was owned by Steve Marriott (from Humble Pie/Small Faces) and that the Border Collie sings in the track. However, that’s clearly not a fucking Border Collie, it’s a Borzoi. Steve Marriott’s actual dog named Seamus is also a German Shepard.

Whoever writes the wiki pages for songs desperately needs to consult whoever writes the wiki pages for dogs. It’s stipulated on other websites that the song is just named after a Seamus who isn’t featured on the track. Plus Steve Marriott didn’t own a Borzoi so this dog’s identity and real name are complete mystery. Nick Mason (PF’s drummer) says that “Seamus” was being watched over by David Gilmour at the time. So it’s highly likely this dog is a different Seamus.

Either way I hate this dog.

I apologize for this being so late. I'm going to answer these for Pale Fire, my high seas dark fantasy set around the same time as Cold as Ice. None of these have any Artbreeder portraits created for them yet.

D is for Declan Saeruson, a flat character in Pale Fire.

Declan Saeruson was an officer in the Glorendine Army. He has made a name for himself in the 100-years war. He was born in the southern part of Glorendt and has a very thick accent. Declan is the eldest son of two children.

His mother was from a gentry family, and he lived quite comfortably as a child. Although his family worshipped Ludovica and Ludovico, Declan worshipped Raimondo, the god of knowledge.

Saeruson learned the Easterner language and was appointed the Glorendine agent to the Easterners. From his career among the Easterners, he acquired tens of thousands of acres of land in the Eastern kingdom and became very wealthy.

Declan would have numerous children among Glorendine and Eastern women. He would eventually take a young Glorendine seamstress as a mistress.

H is for Harold Sigurduson, the mentor character in Pale Fire.

Harold Sigurduson was an officer in the Glorendine Army, as well as one of the highest-ranking officers in the Order of the Lotus, a secret organization who is said to conspire to control world affairs by masterminding events (based upon the Illuminati).

Harold was born in southern Glorendt to a Glorendine military officer and an unknown mother who was assumed to be a member of the Glorendine royal family.

He would be the one to suggest that Anabelle and Seamus become privateers from the navy, as well as try to have Shae join the Order of the Lotus.

Harold is adept in the healing arts of body magick. He will train Seamus on how to finesse his skills with meager magickal skills.

O is for Olav Yngvuson, a flat character in Pale Fire.

Olav Yngvuson was a Glorendine soldier and spy for the Army during the 100 years war. He would volunteer for intelligence-gathering missions in the Olessan Empire.

He was born in Southern Glorendt to a priest of Noxxus, the shepard of Damned souls. When he was 14, he was sent with his brother to college and excelled at mathematics and literature. He would go on to become a teacher before joining the Glorendine army.

Olav would volunteer to go behind enemy lines and report on the Olessan Empire's troop movements. He would disguise himself as an Olessan tutor by dying his hair and utilizing his talent in body magick to change the shape and color of his eyes.

What fandoms do you write for? I have written for Mass Effect (Trilogy + Andromeda), Harry Potter, Rivers of London, Firefly, The Memoirs of Lady Trent, Rogue One, … mostly a small number of fics each, it seems that I'm a fandom hopper. I can't say what I'm working on at the moment, for reasons of (exchange related) secrecy, but my other WIP that I can talk about is for this one German crime TV show that's got a new episode upcoming soon, Tatort (the Saarbrücken version).

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Yes, I usually respond to comments, but sometimes they sit for a (really long) while in my inbox before I answer because I want to look at them in the preview of my unread comments. Why do I answer? Always in the hopes of awesome dialogue :D but also to show my appreciation for the commenters

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? My first impulse was to say that I don't do pure angst without happy endings, but that's not true: I've written two Mass Effect fics that fit the bill. One is wistful and introspective about a failed relationship between Ryder and Reyes Vidal, but the other is more angsty: "under the burning sun", a story set between ME1 and ME2 in which Shepard & Kaidan return to Virmire to grieve Ashley. It's a story about grief and doesn't have a happy or even hopeful ending. They lost someone they didn't want to lose.

What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I'm not sure it's the happiest, but my fluffiest ending is in "Spürst du die Funken", my (German language) Dean/Seamus getting together story with gay Seamus & grayromantic bi Dean that I'm still meaning to translate into English some day.

Do you get hate on fic? I've never gotten hate on fic. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

Do you write smut? Not until recently, and I haven't published anything yet. One of my Tatort Saarbrücken fics is going to be very smutty though. Like, pure smut with a side order of character development.

Do you write crossovers? I haven't published any crossovers yet, but one of my WIPs is a Rivers of London / The Old Guard crossover in which they're in the same world, and Peter becomes the same kind of immortal as the Old Guard.

Have you ever had a fic stolen? As far as I know, no.

Have you ever had a fic translated? No, not so far.

Have you ever co-written a fic before? Yes, it's one of the Tatort Saarbrücken WIPs! With @shakespearerants . We're kind of stuck on the editing though because I can't find the time for getting back into it.

What’s your all-time favourite ship? I'm a multishipper (multiple ships even for the same character), how am I supposed to have an all-time favourite? Also, since I'm not that prolific and I'm a fandom hopper, there aren't many pairings for which I've written much. I guess Ron/Hermione is the pairing I've written the most? But that's, like, 3 oneshots.

What��s a WIP you want to finish but probably won’t? I haven't given up hope for any of them. There are some I don't want to finish because I've lost interest, but for the rest, I'm still keeping up hope. There is one that has a low priority though, and that's a fic for the book "Firebrand" in the Green Rider series in which Zachary and Estora have consensual but very bad (and from Zachary's side unwanted) sex. I started it because their dynamic was so uncomfortable in that book, everyone acting as if everything was alright, even Zachary himself, and I wanted to explore what I felt was an approach more true to the emotional reality of the situation.

What are your writing strengths? Introspection and emotions. Also, landscapes and travel logistics, I think. But I'd be interested to hear other people's opinions on that, obviously.

What are your writing weaknesses? Dialogue. I'm used to writing introspection. I love lingering in the internal thoughts and feelings of my POV character, and since that's the kind of role play writing I've done for almost 10 years now, I'm good at it (and in German, I can do it subtly). But it doesn't lend itself to the rhythm a good dialogue needs to have, so I always struggle with that. I should try to get more into theatre.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I'd do it if it fit my story, but I have strong feelings about how to do it. It has to fit the situation and the characters, and having dialogue in another language than the fic is a stylistic choice that tells us something about the POV character and the other characters. So you'd have to do it very deliberately. Also, I'm particular about bilingualism and accents. Mostly, I don't show accents in written speech, especially when it's not something the characters would notice. A good example of how I use other languages and accents of other languages in fics would be "What we're made of", my trans Viktor Krum story. I wrote it from his point of view, so of course he doesn't notice his own accent in English, how his pronounciation differs from, e.g., Hermione's. In his dialogue, I write him making grammar mistakes I think a native speaker of Bulgarian could make in English (extrapolating from my experience of Bulgarians speaking German, adapted to English grammar), but in his internal thoughts, I use normal English grammar because he thinks in grammatically correct Bulgarian, even though I don't comment on it.

First fandom you wrote for? The very first I wrote for was some horse girl book I had as a child. The first I published were for Harry Potter.

Favourite fic you’ve written? To Serve the Sacred, a very niche Mass Effect Andromeda worldbuilding fic from the POV of a Kett soldier, a view into the internal politics and religion of the Kett, which are the (on the surface generic) bad guys of the game. There's a lot of implied lore, and I'm exploring that. I still want to write an continuation of the game in which I'd explore it even more, as I have a big interconnected headcanon for why they are the way they are. Anyway, that fic has 21 hits and 3 kudos, but I'm immensely proud of it.
