Oh boy do I have a controversial take! I watched a few eps and listened to every song but I cannot get to like it for some reason. Maybe it’s the character designs and raunchy humor being too on the nose, it felt like it can’t get over the fact it’s R rated. I’m all for cartoons aimed for mature audiences, but when they try to insert the things that make it R rated into every nook and cranny it feels like it was forced to push it so far. Which made me feel like it was too forced.

As for the character designs, a lot could be changed. They kinda felt like a 12 year old’s deviantart oc’s from 2011. I think i read somewhere that the creator designed a few of them at age 10, which unfortunately tracks. I also think there could’ve been more color variations used for the main characters other than white/black/red.

The music though is really good! I’m a huge broadway nerd and seeing such a plethora of well known stars was what got me to give it a try.

But yes that’s only what I think, I don’t mean to disrespect any fans, we all have a right to our opinions:) I particularly do not enjoy it but if you do, that’s great!! I’m also open to giving it another shot eventually but for now I’m kind of setting it aside. Anyways hiiiiii

If u could change anything about the diamonds what would u change???

Oh boy it’s a list:)

Don’t get me wrong, I really like them, but there are a couple of things I would change:)

1. Size: I would make them a wee bit smaller (maybe the size Yellow was in her debut). Pink would stay the same and White would be a couple of heads taller than BD and YD. This could serve as a way to not make everything on Homeworld feel like its on a macro level and more focused on how things are for everyone there.

2. Redemption: I feel like their redemption in the show was unrealistic. I know I know, its a show and not in real life, but it would’ve been better if their redemption was stretched out further and explored more. It took a puny Peridot around half a season to get redeemed, while the intergalactic hitlerettes only took a short story arc and not to mention WD, who literally turned around in one episode. (I get that Rebecca Sugar had to fight to get at least enough episodes to finish the story she had been working on for years, but this opinion is based on a world where this wasn’t the case. In an ideal world, it could’ve been really interesting to add something between the series finale and the film. Maybe something like three or four hour long specials (like adventure time: distant lands) and have each one revolve around the growth and adjustment of gems in a new world. Maybe have one per diamond and another of uncorrupted gems adapting to living by Beach City, with a comeback of townies as they help to integrate these new citizens into their community (this kinda already works with the flm, though).

3. Attire: Personally, I love the diamonds’ outfits, but something that kinda bugged me a bit was how they don’t change it based on the situation. I get that its a much different concept than human attire, since their clothes are literally attached to their forms, but it kinda seemed off to me how they don’t bother modifying it at all. For example, for the Era 3 Ball, it would’ve been really cool to see Yellow wearing some kind of bad ass shiny gala-esque dictator uniform to look intimidating yet bold and fashionable. Or blue with some dramatic alternative to her dress. In other words, this would be more eye grabbing than YD’s trench coat skirt or BD’ s cloak.

But yeah these are simply some thoughts I had on this! Just as a disclaimer, I love and always will love the way the show turned out, and I get that he impact it left came with a cost. Forcing to end to a show that already had a solid storyline is never a good thing, especially because of how it alters the planned pace of it. So I get that they had to rush acouple of things here and there, and even with that, it still ended quite well!

Ok so hear me out. I’m literally so mad with Adobe right now :/

So I don’t know if some of you have heard but Adobe Draw is no longer available. They’re shoving their new Fresco app down our throats but it doesn’t support all apple devices, with my ipad mini being literally a generation away from being supported. So now I have NO ACCESS to my art until I upgrade to a newer ipad (mine is like 3 years old so it isn’t even that old).

In my opinion what they could have done is to still allow people to access them through the app, but removing the online-sharing aspect of it. Also not updating it anymore would’ve been fine for a long while. It’s like years of my work are now gone and I need to pay for another whole ass Ipad. It works fine on my phone but my more recent works did not load :-) Fun.

How do u feel about quartz gems in the show

I like them, they’re fun to draw lol

However I would change one thing. Instead of them all looking like complete recolors of each other, I would alter their diversity up a bit more. For example, all sorts of body shapes for them. Ruby-sized quartzes? Yes.

They could all look distinct but still work under the military, all falling under a certain level close to one another but maintaining a hierarchical form.

I thought of this too:

Jaspers = strong brutes (canon forms)

Amethysts = sort of strong brutes (canon-ish)

Chalcedony and Tigers Eye = agile, slimmer, quick

Aventurines = very tall and slender, also stronger

Citrines = similar to aventurines but higher ranking

And so on :)

Hi how are u

I’m actually the best I’ve been in a couple of years!

I’ve been giving myself time and space to grow, which is something I never really did before. Back then, when shit went down, I would try to accelerate my life with lots and lots of adrenaline to block negative emotions. Lots of things I didn’t wanna do but still did. But now I started to get into healthy habits, I even changed the way I see people. This has given me a whole different outlook on life and on myself, it’s probably the most refreshing thing I could’ve done.

I theory that ornage spodumin is a merger of two gems he has 3 eyes in hair😁😁😁😁😁

If what you’re saying is that she is a fusion of two gems because of the “eyes” in her hair, then it is pretty much confirmed more than once that she is a single Orange Spodumene. The circles in her hair are actually just the way her jelly dreads cover the orange mass inside her head. She also only has one eye:)

Edit: And in the artbook, Rebecca listed which uncorrupted gems were fusions, only Watermelon Tourmaline and Crazy Lace :-)

What do you think the purpose of the single gem versions of the fusions (aka sardonyx, Sugilite and opal.)

Smoky Quartz: quartz soldiers

Rainbow Quartz: quartz soldiers

Sardonyx: agate, diplomatic quartz/fleet leader

Sugilite: demolition gems

Opal: either diplomatic thinkers or rare foot soldiers (or ninjas?)

Alexandrite: pyrokinetic gems who burn out organic matter for new structures to be built. They can produce a pink fire that can be stopped on command.

Fluorite: scientists; very tech savvy :) (sort of like Peridots but more rare)

Azurite: gems in charge of hydrokinetic gems.

Rhodonite: sculptors (?) idk it seems like a cheap option i have no clue what to give them:)

Watermelon Tourmaline: (tourmalines in general) gems that regulate air pressure for very high or low parts of colonies.

Garnet: duhhh we know what they do (very high ranking commanders)

Malachite: alchemists/chemists

Obsidian: trench diggers? Magma wave that solidifies almost instantly? (if snowflake obsidians and normal obsidians have different roles, then maybe normal ones could either be factory workers)

Sunstone: Trackers, can locate any gem within a very broad radius using their minds and senses
