happy Damn Skippy birthday! here's a pickup line for each song on the album:
are you my brine shrimp pals? because I love you and you're my friends.
i wish we were construction paper dolls, connected by the hands with tiny little faces
if I'm the King, you're the pumpkin pie that fills me with glee. I'd offer a castle for your recipes.
I'd like you to destroy my robot...? ok they can't all be winners
if we were together we'd be so far out it'd be creepy.
be the Jimi Hendrix Jr. to my rock n' roll soccer mom <3
you make me remember there are days to wake up for and dreams to be had.
you could call my "kitten" Random Pieces of Lint if you're wildly attacking it... ;)
I'd like us to devote all of our time to the floor, but not exactly because we're looking at the ceiling 😩
when you kiss me I become completely lost upon your eyes, completely crossed, and hypnotized
I'd like you to put your body on display with your jedi costume on...
you rock the stripes right outta my socks!
every crayon color is like an old friend, but only you're a godsend to me
-i'd like to be gargling your saliva in my mouth like Neil does during the bridge of rainwater
If you put vanilla behind your ears I'll be smelling your cookie all day 🤤
let's close our eyes and spin in our chair together
you make me feel as out of breath as if I'd sung the whole bridge of Word Disassociation in one breath.
meltdown is an eventuality, but you're my eventuality.
BONUS:
I'd like for you to come by at Seven o Clock and ask if I'll go out for a walk.
when you put down one mother, you're putting down mothers all over the world, but, uh, if you were my mommy, I'd be okay if you put me down.
if you left me I'd feel as if the Sky Blue Up.
#lemon demon#damn skippy#also i realized while looking at the lyrics for the songs I realized how many christian lyrics are in Dead Sea Monkeys? hello? very odd#finally i know i've been a bit on autopilot with this blog but i'll come back soon i think because i still enjoy it#it's just been a busy semester and I don't really have time to come up with new stuff all the time... ignore the hour i spent on this

the subject of fabian's grades will probably be addressed in next week's episode esp when he attempts to multiclass but like here's the thing: he's literally the captain of the bloodrush team, i figure that boy at least has to be working to keep his grades above the minimum gpa requirement. i have to imagine even at aguefort they're like. listen if u wanna be on the bloodrush team u have to be passing ur fucking classes
#alli says shit#fantasy high junior year#also i mean. it's fighter classes. how hard can those be to pass#fabian feels like the type to slack off all semester n then when he's told hey you're in danger of being kicked off the team#he has to run off like ADAINE THE BALL U MUST HELP ME STUDY#this happens every semester he does not learn#most high schools require a 2.5 gpa minimum? he's like high C average#high sea average lol

tgcf for the ask game! ❤💖💀
Thanks for the ask!
❤: Which character do you think is the most egregiously mischaracterized by the fandom
It’s probably not a good thing that I can think of so many options. Tbh I could name like half the cast here. But I’m going to go with Jian Lan, because if i see her characterized as Feng Xin’s obsessive evil stalker ex one more time I’m going to start throwing things. She could not have made it anymore clear that she doesn’t want him. I don’t know how people miss it unless they were skimming the last couple of chapters. They’re broken up! She’s not even getting in the way of any ships! Just let that poor woman live!
💖: What is your biggest unpopular opinion about the series?
I really, really prefer the flashback segments to the main plot. They feel overall more coherent, better paced, and are also just have a way more interesting storyline to me, personally. The main timeline has so many characters and so many subplots that sometimes it just feels a little bit all over the place, in a way that I do not vibe with. But then again I am so far from the target audience of this series that this should be taken with a grain of salt.
💀: If you had to choose one major character to die, who would you choose?
God i wish more people died in these books. I’d make Yin Yu stay dead for one thing. Sorry king. But out of major characters I’d choose Feng Xin, to no one’s surprise. I write a lot of ghost Feng Xin, but Fx perma-death compells me too. Something about him dying for Xie Lian and, unlike Hua Cheng, not coming back. Truly living up to his second male lead destiny
#my second bonus unpopular opinion is that I don’t care for the prose but im willing to blame the seven seas translation on that#spent this whole semester translating epic poetry and wow. sometimes things that i know sound good originally can come out so clunky#asks#egmilktea

Posts here will likely be on hiatus for a couple weeks as I finish up the semester <3 I'll be back soon enough!
#not aesthetic#not stim#txt#txt post#I wanna build up a big ol queue for next semester because. Well.#Next semester is fixing to be... uh... course-heavy... and I probably won't have time to make new stuff for... well. a while...#But I still want a steady queue to come out even if I don't have time to make new gifs#because I wanna be able to check on the new comments and responses every couple days or so!#They brings me insurmountable amounts of joy#And... it's really nice to have the responses to read when schoolwork is overwhelming me and getting me down#Not to be a downer on here#Just... in a sea of things I'm doing wrong or doing late... it's nice to know that there's something I can do right#And do well. And that brings joy to people#Er-- well I didn't mean to spew all that into these tags.#I just wanted to say I love this blog and its niche community. And gif-making brings me so much joy#Thank you everyone who likes my silly little images <3#I'll be back soon

everyone please pray or manifest for me that i get one of the easy texts for my exam pleaseeeee
#its an oral exam where you have to read out and translate a piece of text from the curriculum (in japanese)#and some of the texts have a lot of kanji i am unfamiliar with#and while they said that the reading out loud doesnt count and is only to make sure we know how the kanji have to be read#its still kinda embarrassing if i have to stop up every other word bc idk the kanji#but the text i was revising today was so easy compared bc its written from the perspective of a 12 year old#so theres not that many hard words#while some of the other ones describe very unfamiliar phenomena etc#like theres one thats about some sea creature who lives in a hole in the ocean....#idk all those words pleaseeeee#also one thing about japanese is that theres so many onomatopoetica#like as adverbs.... its just onomatopoetica and i dont remember any of themmmmmm#but anyways after the translation part theres a conversation part which would be fine but i havent spoken japanese in 5 months so im#probably super rusty#while i think my reading skills have improved a lot and i learned a lot of new kanji this semester#i have not spoken a coherrent sentence since january lmao#but i actually dont care THAT much about this exam#bc when its the last exam for my entire bachelors degree#i just get extreme exam anxiety and the anxiety only gets worse when i have to come up with stuff in the moment#its fine if i can just stick to a script but i usually fall on the questions they ask

About 10 years ago I spent a few months in Alberta as an exchange student. I'm from a very dense, very mountainous city with little land and lots and lots of skyscrapers. In very sharp contrast out of my dormitory window you can see just an unbelievable stretch of flat land with very low-rise buildings, almost all the way to the horizon. And it's not just the view of it all; it's the mental awareness of how much flat land there is around you. Whichever direction you turn, bar some rivers and a lake here or there, it's all just flat land. Just more and more and more land. For someone who lived her entire life by the sea this was unfathomable. What do you mean all the land is flat? What do you mean there is no physical border to this land? What do you mean this land doesn't end somewhere, like at a sea or an ocean? What on earth???

#like i learn about the bison runs of the first nations and they seem pretty cool! herds of animals running across this giant piece of land!#but at the same time towards the end of that semester i was like look. i'm going to miss this exchange trip#and lowkey i didn't want to head home yet#but one of the first things i did when i went home was go down to just the sea#i neeeeeeeeded that expanse of water#i needed to see that there is an end to the land because wtf#why do i sound like moana oop#anyway#the prairies man. absolutely wild.#idek how to tag this#the prairies#america#canada#nature

semester at sea fundraiser
Why Your Support for My Semester at Sea Journey Matters
My dream is to go on the Semester at Sea program—a transformative, global voyage that allows students like me to study abroad while visiting multiple countries across continents. For a student seeking both academic and personal growth, this opportunity is a dream come true. However, as with any life-changing adventure, it comes with significant costs, and that’s where I need your help.
I’m reaching out to you today to share why I’m asking for your support and why your donation would mean the world to me. Here’s why participating in Semester at Sea is so important, not only for my future but for the broader world we all share.
1. A Global Education Like No Other
While traditional study abroad programs are fantastic, Semester at Sea offers an entirely unique approach to learning. For four months, I’ll be living on a ship with students and professors from around the world, traveling to diverse countries like Japan, Greece, South Africa, and Brazil. Each port of call will offer real-world experiences tied to my coursework, making every lesson come alive in ways that are simply not possible in a classroom.
From learning about global economics in Shanghai to studying marine biology in the Caribbean, this program blends academia and cultural immersion in a way that few other programs do. It’s the type of education that will challenge me to think critically, adapt to new environments, and engage with global issues on a profound level.
2. Breaking Down Cultural Barriers
Semester at Sea isn’t just about learning from textbooks; it’s about learning from people. I’ll have the chance to live alongside students from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds, giving me a rare and invaluable opportunity to understand the world beyond my own perspective. The people I meet, the friendships I build, and the perspectives I gain will shape the way I view the world for the rest of my life.
In today’s interconnected world, cultural competency and global awareness are essential skills. This experience will allow me to navigate complex international issues, understand different viewpoints, and become a more informed, empathetic global citizen.
3. Personal Growth and Self-Discovery
Beyond the classroom and cultural experiences, this journey will push me to grow in ways I can’t fully anticipate. Living on a ship, managing time and resources, navigating different cultures and languages, and dealing with the challenges of travel will foster independence, resilience, and adaptability.
This program is an opportunity for me to challenge myself, expand my horizons, and return home with new confidence and life skills. It’s not just about academics; it’s about transforming into a more resourceful, global-minded individual who is prepared to take on whatever life brings.
4. Paying It Forward for the Future
While the program may feel like a personal experience, the value of participating in Semester at Sea extends far beyond me. The knowledge, experiences, and insights I gain will inform my future endeavors—whether I pursue a career in global policy, international business, or community outreach. The unique skills I acquire will help me contribute meaningfully to society and make an impact wherever I go.
By donating to my journey, you’re not just helping me; you’re investing in a future where I can use my education and experiences to contribute to important global conversations and solutions. Your support will help me become a more engaged, informed, and compassionate global citizen who is eager to give back to the communities that helped shape me.
5. The Impact of Your Contribution
No amount is too small. Whether you donate $5, $50, or $500, every contribution helps me move closer to my goal of participating in Semester at Sea. Donations will go toward covering tuition, travel expenses, living costs on the ship, and excursions to the different countries we visit. With your support, I can afford this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and focus on the experience, knowing that I have the backing of people who believe in me and in the power of global education.
Even if you can’t contribute financially, sharing my campaign or simply offering encouragement means just as much. Word of mouth and spreading the word on social media can make a huge difference in helping me reach my fundraising goal.
How You Can Help
1. Donate: If you’re able, please consider donating through my fundraising page . Every donation, no matter the size, brings me closer to my goal.
2. Share: Spread the word! Share this blog or my fundraising page on your social media or with anyone who might be interested in supporting education and travel.
3. Words of Encouragement: If you’re unable to donate, a simple message of support can mean a lot. Your kind words inspire me to keep pushing forward toward this goal.
Thank You for Helping Make This Dream a Reality
In conclusion, participating in Semester at Sea is more than just an academic opportunity; it’s a transformative experience that will shape my future in countless ways. With your support, I can embrace this adventure, grow as a person, and bring the lessons I learn back into the world. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for considering supporting my journey. Together, we can make this dream come true.
With gratitude,
Mj
