8: Did any real people or events inspire any part of it?

Not really. Not that I can recall, at least - maybe something or someone I can't think of right now. But at least it the moment, it was all just the idea that deserts, really, are like oceans of sand. That's really it.

1: What inspired you to write the fic this way?

It's a combination of things, and funny enough, one of them is to play at being human by finalizer, the same fic we both agreed just today was amazing.

Other than that...accounts of psychosis, as well as other stories I'd read, like The Witcher and The Wheel of Time.

I'm sure there's more as to why I chose that particular style of writing, but at least right now, I can't think of them.

9: Were there any alternate versions of this fic?

Nah. I very rarely do alternate versions - at least alternate versions that surviving the editing process. Normally the editing process is where the alternate versions of stuff I write goes to die.

11: What do you like best about this fic?

I really like that it's just...a happy ending for Claudia and Soren. I think if you make me pick a specific part, it's the moment that Soren realizes that Claudia isn't a hallucination, and is really, actually there. I really like that scene; I think I did a good job with that.

(I still have ideas for the sequel floating around in my head, but it's been hard to actually write anything for it.)
