Happy(ish) end of 2023 ppl!

Tbh a lot of shit happened I didn’t rlly expect this year, for better or for worse, but at least it’s been memorable. I got into rw (and tumblr in the process 👀), and improved my art skills much more than anticipated, which I was not at all expecting :D Unfortunately I don’t have one of those piece-for-each-month things nor do I have enough pieces I deem decent enough to be on for each month over here, so instead I did the next best thing and put together 12 pieces from the past little while I quite enjoy/enjoyed making! Ready? Here we go!

Also since this will probably be my last post of 2023, this year involved a lot of ideas and inspiration, much of which came from ppl including @burningtimetraveler(crazy lovable bastard), @sapphicdib(crazy au maker and rlly neat peep), @crypticemerald(wonderful artist who indirectly got me playing Heaven Says on loop for a week), @tanzdoesthings(crazy au maker two electric boogaloo), @toxictoxicities(Rlly neat animator and also Trafficlight propagandist), and @weepinglilvessel(Cheesus and crackers we have a lot of crazy au makers in here don’t we?)

Finally, I can properly introduce my Farmer to y'all !

Her name is Rose, short for Rosemary, she’s 25 and moved to Stardew Valley to flee her depressing life in the city.

She’s a natural blonde who dyed her hair for the first time before coming to the Valley. You know, the Spiel of “starting fresh”.

She has found many people she calls her good friends, but one of them is a bit more special to her *wink wink some grumpy chicken breeder wink*

Can’t talk about her backstory too much as I want to draw and write it.

I want to do more with her and hope to post some cute and funny comics in the future (as well as fanfics but you know writing is something I do anyway) 💕✨

In case anyone is interested, I uh... wrote a porny ACOTAR Azriel/OC one-shot. It's not super fleshed out or anything (heh heh), but it was just a fun little thing I wanted to get out of my head. It was nice to step out of SDV for a minute.

I might honestly do an Az/Rhys/Cass/OC for even more funsies at some point, but I'll definitely make that more graphic and put more thought into it because uhhhhh reasons lol.

Idalia

Idalia moved to Pelican town to escape an abusive ex and the life he tried to trap her in. Putting trust in people again felt impossible for her, but she's happy to flirt back with the blond who plays pool at the saloon on Fridays. Sam quickly becomes a more prominent part of her daily routine than she ever expected, wanting nothing more than to just spend time with the new farmer he enjoys the company of so much. Maybe Idalia could be ready to consider dating again...

Willa

Much of Willa's life has been spent arguing with her mother, while her father spent his life at work. When the opportunity to take on her grandpa's farm arose, she was pushed to make something of herself, and despite having no desire to ever move to such a small community or become a farmer, Willa was content to leave the house she'd grown up in. Now living in Pelican Town, Willa is under pressure to make a good impression in the community, and develop skills to make enough money to support herself.

Maia

Maia's homelife in Zuzu City filled with grief after spending months in and out of hospital visiting her mother before she passed away. After such a huge shift in the dynamic of her life, she begins a new chapter in the quieter, gentler scenery of Pelican town. It becomes hellishly ironic when she falls for the town's doctor, but entering a medical environment each morning to bring him coffee is healing for her too.

Rose

Rose never thought divorce would happen to her, but after the last few years of her marriage become unaffectionate, she realised maybe she and her husband were just incompatible. He won the house in the process, so Rose decided to finally take up her grandfather's land in Pelican town. Remarrying was also something she had decided against, until the town's author showed her the love and passion she hadn't felt in a long time.

Alright I know that’s a boring answer or whatever

But for some reason having them in the garden seems to make the other flowers happier, grandma likes their scent too.

It’s… nice. I guess. Seeing just a simple flower help the others around it bloom.
