imagine, little boatem vampires Pearl ends up wandering outside, whoever was watching her looked away just for a second and when they turned back around she was just, gone. of course everyone immediately all starts freaking out and frantically searching for her. she turns up of course, perfectly fine but hours later, just outside the house.
You didn't ask for writing but I wanted to write anyway.
vampires!au rambles
—
“She's gone,” the first words that leave Grian's mouth after he rushes– breathless and terrified, paler than Mumbo– into the house make Impulse immediately snap to attention, nearly dropping the book he was reading. He jumps to his feet, eyes wide as he quickly sets the book down and crosses the room to Grian. “I just– I looked away, for one second I swear–!”
“Calm down,” Impulse soothes, reaching out and resting a hand on Grian's arm. “Take a deep breath. Tell me what happened.”
Grian leans against the counter, chest heaving. “Pearl and I were outside, and she was playing like normal, and I decided to just look away for a second and now she's gone and I can't find her anywhere and her scent just–” He throws up his hands to run them through his hair angrily– “gone! Somehow she's just disappeared!”
Impulse swallows, taking in the information as he nods. “Okay. Okay. Go get Scar and Mumbo, we're going to go look for her.”
With an urgency the vampires hadn't felt since the time Pearl got sick for the first time, they split up and began to search through their house, yard, and then the surrounding territory. The full moon lit their way as they searched the forest, a soft glow illuminating the leaves a silvery green. Light wasn't necessary, given that they were all able to see in the dark, but it certainly did help.
The moon was high in the sky by the time the vampires regrouped, still without Pearl and no clue as to where she went or how she disappeared.
Grian bites back tears as he leans against Mumbo, who gazes down at him anxiously. “This is all my fault,” he whimpers, sniffling softly.
Scar frowns, brow creasing as he wraps an arm around Grian's shoulders. “It's okay, Gri. We'll find her. She can't have gone far. We might've just missed her.” He doesn't sound convinced. He wants to be, though.
Impulse slowly nods. “We should keep looking. She has to be around here somewhere.”
Hours pass as they continue their search, ending unsuccessfully back at the house as the moon begins to set. Grian is sobbing openly, gasping out apologies as Mumbo tries to comfort him, and Impulse and Scar begin quietly discussing calling Gem to see if she could help find their lost daughter.
The sun begins to peak over the horizon, and with it an excited giggle rings out over the yard. The vampires jump, looking up to see Pearl, looking none the worse for the wear and bouncing on her feet.
Grian runs to her so quickly he's just a blur, scooping her up with a shout. “Pearlie! Oh, oh, Pearl, don't you ever do that again!” he scolds through tears, holding her close.
Pearl whines softly and leans her head against Grian's shoulder as the rest of the vampires join him, looking up at her family with big eyes. She seems to understand that something is wrong, and her happiness turns to sorrow and remorse. “...sorry,” she mumbles, before pressing her face into Grian's shoulder.
Impulse sighs fondly, gently ruffling her short hair. “Oh man. It's okay, Pearl,” he reassures her, not wanting her to get too upset, “you went on a big adventure, huh? Are you a little sleepy, then?”
Pearl nods, kicking her feet slightly. “Yeah...” she mumbles, snuggling further against Grian. “Wanna nap.”
Impulse nods and looks up at Grian. “Do you want me to take her, or do you wanna get her to bed?”
Grian gently bounces Pearl in his arms, rocking from side to side. “I'll do it,” he murmurs, his eyes never leaving Pearl.
Impulse shares looks with Scar and Mumbo before nodding once more. “Alright. Thanks, G.”
Pearl doesn't ever do that again, but the vampires never forget the scare they had that night.

It took me a bit to figure out a pose for Lyric. There's apparently a fine line between excited tip-toe-standing and the kind of dainty pose that no toddler would ever perform

random multifandom au i thought of.
basically, this is Phibound a world that comes with an au inspired by the minecraft origins mod and Pink Verse by @aquakat-draws. (ily as a friend) an au that mixes origins SMPs (survival multiplayer servers) with a slight bit of HOMESTUCK.
There are many races/classes/origins. These include:
-Human(oids)
-Beasts (Mammalians, Reptilians, Insectoids, Aauatics, Avians, Amphibians)
-Endermen
-Sculklings (eg.: Wardens)
-Undead
-Elementals
-Creepers (aww man)
-Slimes
-Automatons
phew, that’s a big list, right?
Anyways, each race/class/origin has their own abilities, pros and cons. (eg: Earth Elementals are strong af, but are slower than other origins.) Humans don’t have any abilities by default, but can be trained my mages. Everyone has a certain level of Force (aka. Phi).
Lore:
Phigaia, this world’s version of our Earth was made by The Great Duo, from ice and rocks. From there, Terra was born. Terra made a ball of light from the Sun to give life to The Earth. This light made Humans and Animals, which evolved to the Beasts we know today, and turned some elements sentient, making Elementals. The humans have became more intelligent and an empress from Alternia known as “The Explorer” came to Earth made the first automaton, Alpha.
The Great Duo:
Astra, the Keeper, Goddess of Space. (she/her)
Chronos, The Ruler of Everything, God of Time. (he/him)
Terra, The Keeper, Deity of Life and The Earth, child of The Great Duo. (they/them)

Does Wretched fight female wardens the same as males over the deep dark areas? What about warden families?
I think I’ve mentioned it here and there, but Wretched refuses to fight doe Wardens unless they pose some sort of genuine threat, or if they manage to grind his gears enough. Bulls, on the other hand, he will rip apart should they stand their ground when he wants to claim their territory.
If there is a mated pair present, does will typically vacate the territory alongside the bull that Wretched has either defeated or scared off. If said Bull is killed, however, the female either runs off, tries to finish what was started, or simply stays with Wretched depending on the nature of the relationship she had with her fallen.
Sculklings being present changes the entire game, though. Wretched will leave a family alone and move along if there are babies that need to be cared for.
Tumblr media
Now, when only females occupy a territory, Wretched sort of just
Lets himself in (if they don’t try to fight him off) and lives alongside them from a distance. In a weird way he even serves as a protector from bulls—or any other threats—that could potentially harm the doe(s) if they were alone.
Wardens devolve into a writhing hormonal mess during mating season—bulls in particular—so sometimes his company is appreciated regardless of his horrible attitude. He’s no interest in pairing up with other Wardens, but unwanted advancements made onto the does that occupy his space by some horny idiot that decided to just wander on in are met with swift and merciless justice.

How does Geode feel about all the changes that he's seen the world go through? Has it enlightened him? Or is he bitter about it all?
Tumblr media
Oh, the world has gone through so many changes since I was a sculkling! The land was mostly wilderness when I was young...now there are more animals, more humans and villagerkind, why, I've even met otherworlders!
I've made peace with the good and the bad. Even being banished had its upside. I met so many friends out the ancient city, I was lucky enough to meet Harvey. I've loved and lost...and loved again.
My only wish is that I can experience where this world goes. This old warden should have a few good years left, hehe!

How does everyone feel about babies? I mean like, what if a baby (species name here) walked up to them?
Like a baby chicken...
Or a baby goat...
Baby human/villager...
A kitten/ baby ocelot...
What would everyone do?
Lulu: She wants to be a mama someday, so she would take a baby animal and probably groom it and feed it.
Geode: He used to raise little wardens in his family group, so he's particularly good with baby wardens. Baby illagers/villagers he'd be very much like a grandpa to. Baby animals he would raise kind of like a farmer.
Timothy: He loves cute things, so he's be all like "SQUEEEE!!" if he saw a baby animal, illager, sculkling, etc.
Dr Tesser: Eletzytynns are very well known for taking in other species babies and raising them like eletzytynns...she would be very gentle and nurturing toward a baby creature. She's particular to baby wardens after being mistaken for one by a mama warden.
Terry: they are like "oh, cute." UNTIL! It's a baby sniffer.

That would be very helpful, I would be forever grateful.  If we get a larger garden, we’ll have more than enough food
if you and your little one plan to stay.  You are welcome to
if you’d like.
Geode felt with a wooden stick for the dented bucket he used to make soup and stirred the mushroom soup he was making.
It can be intimidating to go up to the surface, but
here there is really not much to worry about.  The village and outpost have been abandoned for some time now.
The whine he had made when his leg began to ache drew the attention of his new friend.
Oh, I’m okay
don’t worry.  Whenever there’s a storm on the way, my bad leg starts to hurt.  I’d say we have
hmm
two days before the blizzard gets here.
Geode used a pair of crude tongs made from two sticks and a spider thread to pull out the potatoes.  As they cooled, he pushed himself up again, stifling a groan as his leg ached again.  He got a couple old wooden bowls and hammered metal plates stashed next to the furnace.   Geode divided the thin mushroom soup, potatoes, and sweet berries into three portions.  He put a little extra soup in one bowl and added the small amount of goat meat to it.  The old warden paused for a moment and decided to add a few of his berries to that plate, too.  This was for the little sculkling; she was growing after all.
I have food for us.
Geode spoke with more joy.  He couldn’t even remember the last time he cooked for someone. He presented Jonathan with two servings.
The one with a bit more on it is for little Pebble.  It isn’t much, but it should be filling for her.
Geode got his own serving and joined the warden father and sculkling for dinner.  As he sat down, he stretched his bad leg out and rubbed it with one clawed hand.
Hehe
I’m going to need a good soak in the hot spring tonight.

After the confrontation with the pillagers, things were settling down. Jonathan’s wounds were clean and he was dozing away in a nest of wool blocks.
Lulu heard him grumble a little in his sleep, hopefully he wasn’t being plagued by nightmares.
She was about to settle down herself, until her attention was grabbed by a sudden noise.
Lulu’s antennas twitched as she heard the familiar sound of something digging up and out of the sculk. It was a smaller noise, possibly a warden trying to be quiet?
The scent of another warden filled the air and Lulu’s heartbeat quickened.
Could this be an opportunistic warden coming to claim new territory?
Lulu moved toward the source of the sound and smell.
"Gwoo?" Lulu asked cautiously.
Some shuffling was heard.
Lulu shielded herself behind a ruined stone pillar and whined to the newcomer.
After a moment of silence, the reply came.
"Gweeee!"
The pitter-patter of tiny footsteps was heard right after, approaching.
A wave of relief washed over Lulu, to the point where she even chuckled a bit.
She had been afraid of such a tiny sculkling?
Lulu called to the baby, promising that her father was okay and just napping. The baby warden recognized the sound of a friendly she-warden and hurried to Lulu’s side.
Hello little one! What is your name? Lulu cooed.
The sculkling was so young she could barely manage any wardenspeak yet.
Lulu thought she said something like "Pebble". She gently picked up the baby warden and carried her over to where Jonathan was napping. She didn’t know her new friend was a father, but she was pleasantly surprised. In fact, the tiny warden was so sweet that in the back of her mind, Lulu began to contemplate having sculklings of her own
maybe, just maybe it could be time soon.

Day 18: Scrape
This doesn't happen for a long time, so Dr Tesser is still available to RP with.
While responding to a report of a sick baby warden, Dr Tesser ventures underground to the deep dark. When she gets there, she sees there is a big gray warden with a white mane threatening a rascal. She tries to de-escalate the situation, but there was something she didn't know about this warden.
Unlike most wardens, Thorn (the white maned warden) has a very poor sense of smell. When Dr Tesser tells him to stop threatening the rascal, he thinks she's an adolescent warden mouthing off to him. He can't smell that she's a different creature. He gives a quick scrape; just enough to startle a warden...but a mortal injury for a fragile eletzytynn.
Thorn does not he killed the doctor until she doesn't show up to treat his sick sculkling.

I think I can make enough to feed us.  These temperatures are hard to farm in, but

Geode paused mid sentence as he hoisted himself back up.  He began limping his way back to the workshop where he had some food and supplies stored away.
I think once I finish getting enough dirt down here I can grow plenty.  The problem is getting enough down here
between the permafrost and well, my bad leg
the trip to the surface and back can take all day.  What I would do for even one glowberry, though
if I even had one, I could grow it on the ceiling above my garden.
It had been years since Geode had eaten glowberries.
It’s a pleasure to meet you, Jonathan.  My name is Geode.
Geode’s antennas twitched at the sound of the shivering sculkling.  She sounded so cold, even by the lava pool.  Geode had an idea.
I have something you might be able to use!
Geode spoke with a little more excitement.  He moved as quickly as his cane and bad leg would let him, making it to the workshop.  Once there, he dug through the barrels for the object.
The soft cloth brushed against Geode’s claw and he pulled it out.  It was a small coat; most likely it had belonged to a young villager.  It was made of alpaca wool and fur and was designed for the cold tundra weather.  The coat had likely been discarded because it was well worn and had a tear on the sleeve.  When the village above had been populated, the residents used Geode’s ravine home as a dumping ground for things they no longer wanted.  He would be angry about it, but it was one way to get things he could use.  One villager’s trash was another warden’s treasure.
Geode carried the coat to Jonathan.
Here
hopefully this will fit her.  It’s very warm.
After handing over the coat, Geode set about making dinner.  He rummaged through the barrels he kept his food supply in.
Potatoes, a bit of dried, preserved goat meat, and a handful of berries
what luck!  Geode even found a small quantity of dried mushrooms.  He fired up the simple furnace and placed three potatoes inside.  The hot surface on top of the furnace was used as a stove; Geode cooked the bit of goat meat he had along with a little soup made of the reconstituted dried mushrooms.
Geode sat back down just outside of his workshop and gave a wispy sounding whine.  His leg was starting to bother him.  Was it an approaching snowstorm?
We are almost done, I promise

😏 jon & Lulu bc why not djfndj
Oh, Lulu is very attracted to Jonathan physically.  He's a strong bull warden and he seems to be very good with sculklings, which she wants to have.
2. He's pretty much everything she wants in a mate; kind, has lots of food, respectful of her.
3. Pretty often, especially during mating season.  She's young and full of energy, plus she wants babies.
4. Probably inside her nest that's in a geode or in the Ancient City.  Underwater
stay tuned to see why and how.
5. Well
she isn't the most experienced.  She would start off shy and very "vanilla", but she absolutely would open up more with someone like Jonathan.
6. Probably something really cheesy, like "my dear", "my love", or possibly "king".
7. Two come to mind.  She really enjoyed one idea her previous mate had, where Lulu was given a bamboo tube to breathe through while Tamalon went to town on her underwater.  She also dreams of pegging a bull warden, but she's not going to admit that right away.  Absolutely she would want to do those with Jonathan.
8. Slow and sensual, usually
but as I said, she will open up with someone she's comfortable with and do more kinky things.  Plus, if it's with Jonathan, a virile bull warden and it's mating season, she's likely to go for some more primal, animalistic sex.
9. She would love to have a family.  Sculkings of her own plus Pebble as her adopted daughter.  Since it has been mentioned that Jonathan likes the idea of watching after sculklings, Lulu would probably take over the task of hunting for food.  She's pretty good about finding her way around the nether and very skilled at killing hoglins for pork.

◎ What was your scariest experience with a Warden? (Dr. Tesser)
Tumblr media
I have two
and they were both due to my forgetting how incredibly sensitive a warden’s sense of smell really is.
The first one was the scariest. It was early autumn, so as you know, the beginning of mating season for wardens. I responded to a report of a doe who had been hit by several arrows from a pillager patrol. The doe was very easy to work with, she just really wanted those arrows out. Unfortunately, as I was finishing bandaging her, the bull warden found us
presumably her mate. I had treated a male warden earlier that same day and he smelled the strange bull on my clothes. Of course he couldn’t see that I’m just a one and a half block tall eletzytynn, so he pursues what he thinks is a competing male trying to take his mate. I just barely managed to get out of the cave and hit the panic button. I was all the way back home before I realize the angry bull got me with one claw. I still have a scar on my leg from it.
The other time ended up being very sweet, actually. After a two day excursion, I just happened to find a doe having some sort of allergic reaction. I gave her a shot of anti-histamines and watched her like I always do. I must have been really tired from being awake for a few days, because I fell asleep. When I finally woke up, I realized I was being carried. I realized I was actually in a warden’s mouth
that’s a TERRIBLE place to wake up. I thought I was going to be eaten, but any loud noises or struggling would ruin any chance of escape, so I tried my best to stay quiet. When we finally reached the deep dark, the warden placed me in a sculk nest with two sculklings. Then
she started to groom me. I finally realized that this was the same warden I had been treating for allergies
she was very curly haired, very hard to forget. She smelled warden on me and maybe heard me talk in my sleep and thought I was a baby warden
and even took me to her nest to raise with the other babies. It took her awhile to realize I wasn’t a sculkling, so I spent a few days being raised by a mama warden.

🌟 Geode
1. Geode has a rare trait where his hair is very long and smooth.  If you were to look at his feet, he has the “bean sprouts” that a lot of long haired cats have. 2. As an adolescent warden, Geode spent most of his time with the she-wardens in his gauntlet (group of wardens).  He identified more with the she-wardens at the time and probably still would if he were around she-wardens more often. 3. Geode has had a lot of partners, male, female, and even a robot at one point.  In his younger days, he was quite the charmer.  He has a LOT of experience and you wouldn’t think it based on his age and appearance, but he’s not shy. 4. Geode’s longest and most serious relationship was with a blind evoker named Herman.  The evoker didn’t know Geode was a warden until his vindicator brother visited and was shocked.  Herman ended up not caring.  He and Geode were together until Geode inevitably outlived Herman. 5. Geode is related to Lulu and even used to babysit her along with several sculklings. 6. His cane is carved from a single short oak tree.  When he was struck with the trident, he attacked the miner who hit him back and ended up getting the very trident he was hit with.  He used the trident itself as a crutch for awhile, but it worked poorly.  When he hobbled his way to the surface, he clawed and chewed the first tree he found into a better crutch. 7. Geode’s horn are very large because a warden’s horns grow slowly throughout their whole lives and he’s at least 1500 years old. 8. Geode has a twin brother named Ore that he hasn’t seen in hundreds of years.  They were born looking exactly the same, but as they grew up began to look and act very different.  Geode developed a long, silky coat and became very docile and gentle.  Ore grew a very short, curly coat and was boisterous and dominant. 9. He left his original ancient city because it was getting crowded and there was a lot of infighting.  He didn’t like where the leaders were taking things, either. 10. Geode is very good with sculklings.  He was the main babysitter for his gauntlet and loved to read stories to the younger wardens.
