god they're tragic i hate them and myself for writing them like this lmao.

honestly tho, now i'm imagining them sitting round a campfire together and i want to scream. Like, this feels like the kinda song you'd hear around a campfire (like, instrumental wise, ive never heard a sad song be sung around a campfire, its always happy or at least happysad songs) but just. Imagine if Sorry It's Locked Jaylex both survived MH and maybe didn't get back together, but at least didnt hate each other, and they sat around a campfire or a bonfire together and just, played music and talked.

It wouldn't be particularly happy or upbeat or anything, but it wouldn't be an uncomfortable silence either. I like to think that by that time they'd both be healed enough to understand the reality of what their uni relationship was and to not resent each other or themselves for their failings.

The Marshall thing is so bizarre because I saw like one post about it but then someone replied and said it was debunked because it was a claim about Seattle and Marshall wasn't at any Seattle shows that year with Phoebe or Ryan Adams. No idea if that's true, but I wonder if that's why it hasn't picked up any traction? I love Phoebe but her and her entire social circle is so supportive of men with all kinds of questionable accusations like Scruffpuppie and Pinegrove and Noah Gundersen and so many other sketchy men so I doubt anything comes of it unless a bigger news outlet reports it.

hmm i did a quick search and did find photos of marshall playing w phoebe in seattle in may of 2016 (which i would assume is about when this would have happened since me and the op are currently the same age)

there was also a show in seattle in 2017 which depending upon when in the year this person was born that could have also could have been it. so he was definitely around during that time. totally agree though with you about her possibly not addressing it if she can help it.

it's definitely not ideal timing for her pr team i'm sure with boygenius and ep coming out but tbh this should have been prioritized.

i do think marshall has been absent from all social media the last week though because at the least he was directly getting questioned about it so i think either he will just disappear (unlikely because i think he likes the attention too much) or reappear at some point and either deny it or try to pity party himself boohoo i've changed or whatever idk.
