Anzu, what’s anzu’s composition process? Is there any specific way Anzu decides on posing and background art?

anzu improvises a lot !!!! anzu sort of just goes with the flow.. anzu most of the time has a very clear picture of what anzu wants to go with. but sometimes, things change during the process !

gonna go on to explain what anzu means with these two arts, because anzu also has screenshots of what anzu means...

first one ! anzu kept thinking of what to do on it and late at night before the day it was for, anzu also drew a rough sketch when talking with friends to explain how anzu wanted to go about it

as you can see, some things changed, some things were left the same... it ended up not having confetti or nnd comments flying across the screen (mostly because it already had too many things going on ww)

anzu initially also kept changing around the position of his legs, but it ended up being similar to the explanation sketch in the end.

as for the other one, anzu was really struggling on the composition. anzu wanted to really make it feel related to the song, but also not be just a redraw of a frame from it like the no1 ni sasete and merry sexmas arts.. so anzu wanted to go by some of the lyrics or mv elements. this was a hard task.. the lyrics were all not things that could quite be imposed into a piece of art like this, and the mv is also really lacking for this song compared to others.. so, anzu decided to rather go by the feel of the music than anything, and follow through with the len-hai members decision on making some 'cool len' for this. there is also an old tv like effect at the beginning of the MV! so anzu was initially going to make the text pop out of an old tv like that.. heres a very poor composition explanation anzu made for it for friends back when working on it w

initially, due to this, they were also further apart from each other.. but anzu simply just repositioned them later to better fit in the canvas

the background is also likewise for every piece..! but anzu did get a loooot of asks on how to background.. so anzu hopes to one day find time to properly answer that as well !

dont know how much this can help given anzus entire process is just a lot of improvisation on the go really... but maybe you can also find it in you to try a lot of things mid drawing until you find something you're satisfied with !

Ayyyy lore enthusiasts gang~ And of course! Thank you for reading! Sorry this took SO long to reply to. Had to do some major studying for this one lol.

I want to start off by saying that medical knowledge is not my area of expertise, so this is purely a layman's best interpretation based on everything I could learn at Google University 🤣 I managed to decipher her electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) report results. But as for what irl diagnosis those results indicate, I simply lack the expertise required to deduce that answer. Even though I couldn't answer the second part of your question (believe me, I tried so hard 😭), I hope this post is still useful to you! To any medical or med school folk out there, now is your time to shine and save the day (pls 🙏).

How Protocore Syndrome Works?

The basic in-game description of Protocore Syndrome is very rudimentary and doesn't really give us a lot to go off of. But here's what we know:

Protocore Syndrome: From the "Deepspace Messages" section of the in-game Spacepedia resource, we learn that it is a unique disease caused by Protocores. There are different types, and they harm the human body in various ways. Currently, the known types are A, E, and Y

Type Y Protocore Syndrome: From the description given in the World Underneath story "No Morning", we learn that it is a heart syndrome that involves that hides in various organs and systems, with a long latency period, and slow progression. By the time it's detected, it's often too late. There is currently no known cure.

Still digging for concrete information to confirm the protaganist's diagnosis, but the story seems to infer she has Protocore Syndrome. (If you have any screenshots or resources that definitively identify her condition, pls dm me and I'll credit you).

From Zayne's statements during her chapter 1 appointment, we learn that she has Protocore fragments in her heart. He goes on to specify the following symptoms:

Heart arrhythmia

Premature ventricular contractions (PVCs)

Heart murmurs

The game shows us glimpses of her medical paperwork too. We are shown her ECG report and summary. After covering her report, I'll explain some potential discrepancies (emphasis on "potential" since I'm nowhere near an expert lol).

ECG Basics:

We're going to get a little technical here. But I think we'll get the most value from the analysis once we understand what we're looking at. The ECG shown in-game is a standard 12-lead report, producing 12 individual strips.

Leads:

There are the six limb leads: I, II, III, aVR (augmented vector right), aVL (augmented vector left), and aVF (augmented vector foot).

Then, there are the six chest leads: V1, V2, V3, V4, V5, and V6.

Intervals & Waves:

For the report details to make more sense, here's a quick reference to aid in the interpretation of different waves, wave interval, gain settings, and speed settings.

And, based on the gain and speed settings detailed below, each small square on her chart represent 40 milliseconds (ms) and each large squares represents 200 ms.

ECG Report Analysis:

Gain, Speed, and Heart Rate:

Gain: 10 mm/mV

Gain is a setting on an ECG machine that controls the size of an ECG trace. The standard gain setting is 10mm/mV, meaning that 10 mm on the screen represents 1 millivolt (mV) of voltage. It appears that Akso Hospital's ECG adheres to this standard.

Speed: 25 mm/s

Speed is the paper speed setting on an ECG machine. So, the Akso Hospital's ECG machine is set to 25 mm/s (meaning that each small square on the chart represents 0.04 seconds).

Heart rate: 85 bpm

Pretty self-explanatoty, but this measures how many times her heart beats within one minute. For women, a normal resting heart rate is considered 60-100 bpm, and hers is within this range.

PR Interval: 138 ms

The PR Interval (or PQ Interval) is the distance between the start of the P wave and the start of the QRS complex. A normal PR Interval is between 120 - 200 ms. Since hers is 138 ms, she falls within the normal range.

QT & QTC Intervals:

QT Interval: 347 ms

The QT Interval is the time between the start of the QRS segment and the end of the T wave. It measures the electrical activity of the heart's ventricles. For a heart rate of 85 bpm, a normal QT Interval would generally be 380 ms or less. So, hers is normal.

QTC Interval: 411 ms

The QTC Interval is the corrected QT interval (thats what the "c" is for). It represents the time it takes the heart's ventricles to contract and relax. It is calculated by adjusting the QT interval for heart rate. A normal QTC interval for women is usually less than 460 ms. Since hers is 411 ms, she's within the normal range.

P, T, and QRS Wave Axes:

P Wave Axis: 38°

The P wave axis tells us the net direction of the P wave. A normal P wave axis is usually between 0° and 75°. Since hers is 38°, it falls within the normal range.

T Wave Axis: 65°

The T wave tells us the net direction of the T wave. A normal P wave axis is usually between 15° and 75°. Since hers is 65°, it is within the normal range.

QRS Axis: 35°

The QRS Axis tells us the average direction of electrical activity in the heart during ventricular depolarization. A normal adult QRS axis is between -30° and 90°. Since hers is 35°, she falls within the normal range.

SV1 and RV5:

SV1: 0.94 mV

SV1 represents the voltage of the S wave from the V1 lead. It is used to detect ventricular hypertrophy. A normal SV1 is considered to be less than 2.5 mV and hers is within this range.

RV5: 0.85 mV

The RV5 represents the voltage of the R wave from the V5 lead. It is used to measure electrical activity in the left ventricle. An RV5 reading is considered normal if it is less than 3.5 mV and hers is within this range.

QRS Interval: 71 ms

The QRS Interval the interval between the start of the Q wave and the end of the S wave. Represents the time it takes for electrical impulses to spread through the ventricles. A normal QRS Interval is 70-100 ms. Since hers is 71 ms, she's within the normal range.

Potential Discrepancies:

Okay. So, I thought it was a bit strange that all of her ECG readings were within the normal ranges. But I genuinely don't know if a patient can be diagnosed with an irl heart condition despite having an ECG that appears normal. Maybe its a diagnosis determined by other criteria we aren't shown?

Additionally, I looked up ECG strip examples of both cardiac arrhythmias and premature ventricular contractions (PVCs). And comparing them with her charts, I don't see indications of those symptoms in there.

Now I will dive into my various thoughts and musings based on episode 4 of Only Friends.

but first - something from another ep (I am not sure which one):

Ray's jacket says "Is your life worth something?" An especially poignant sentiment given the beginning of today's episode, where we saw how deep Ray's feelings of being a burden run. This ties into the themes we've been exploring around ephemerality (life is short), and YOLO (you only live once, so live wildly and completely) and the associated lack of forethought and consequences. This gang of characters live fast and hard, without thinking about how their actions affect themselves or others. Due to their wealth (and youth) they haven't really had to confront the consequences of their actions yet or take accountability for them - @waitmyturtles wondered if this was a theme the show would look into. Living so recklessly, as if their life doesn't matter... believing they are a burden on others and therefore worth less... treating others as disposable/playthings in their quest for control and satisfaction... "is your [their/our] life worth something?" is a recurring question on this show.

ok now to dive into episode 4 proper:

photography and permanence tied together again: Top set up a photobooth in his [family's] hotel, thus ensuring the logo will stick in their houses for a long time as people don't throw out photos. Photos are souvenirs, they are memories, they are important, we don't throw them out, they are physical objects we keep.

We've already seen a case of someone not throwing out photobooth photos, and the consequences of that with Nick finding some of Boston and Top's photobooth photos and that kickstarting his unhinged P.I. arc. Second time taking photos in a photobooth comes up in this show (and once again it's Top involved - ?).

Sand once again wearing his You Only Live Once bag (I mean, we can expect to see it a lot. Sand is poor. He's only got the one bag.). In this scene he is (reluctantly) giving Ray another chance after he left him in the car the night before. Sand can see the red flags and almost inevitable end of his mixing with Ray... but those puppy dog eyes draw him in every time. Ah well. You only live once, right?

Control and Boundaries

I have been thinking more and more about control and specifically boundaries this week (in no small part due to @respectthepetty's post about Boston and boundaries). Boundaries can be permanent and steadfast and impermeable, or temporary and malleable and weak (here we go with ephemerality or lack there of yet again).

Setting boundaries this week:

Mew telling Ray they can't continue to be friends if Ray continues harbouring feelings for him

Top telling Boston to stay away from him

Nick telling Top to stay away from Boston

Mew saying he will have sex with Top if he quits drugs, Mew making it clear there will be no penetrative sex

Sand asserting to Ray he doesn't appreciate having everything paid for all the time

Mew asking for complete honesty from Top and promising complete honesty in return (sharing the details of his relationship with Ray)

Boston doesn't want intimate photos taken of himself

Crossing boundaries this week:

Ray continually texting and then eventually going to find Sand (and interrupting his rideshare) when he doesn't answer, Ray generally not taking Sand's no for an answer, Ray constantly trying to pay for things for Sand (paying the driver, offering to pay for the guitar)

Ray kissing Mew when he is asleep

Boston pushing into the elevator to corner Top

Mew conceding ground on his no sex rule with Top, Top demanding a (sexual) reward in exchange for giving up drugs

further fall out from Nick recording Boston and Top having sex in the car (he's now showing the recording to Sand)

Mew asking for complete honesty from Top, but Top not telling Mew about sleeping with Boston

Further assorted thoughts

Boston, voyeurism, photography, control, permanency/records

Boston refused to have a photo taken of himself. He can document others in vulnerable situations, and actively seeks out photos of these moments as (physical) souvenirs to keep, but no one can document him in these situations (unequal balance of power there). We have seen Boston use these permanently recorded moments to get his way (showing Top the photo of Mew and Ray kissing to sow doubt in his mind and get Top to sleep with him), and who knows how else he has used/will use the photos in his collection to serve his own ends.

Boston doesn't want intimate photos circulating because his dad is running to be a political representative and that could harm his campaign ... anyone else getting the sense that the existence/creation of intimate photos of Boston is going to become real relevant real soon? We've already seen the physicality and permanence of photographs (the photobooth photos of Top and Boston, the phone photos of Ray and Mew) come back to advance the plot and cause emotional strife...

Boston has already lost control of this situation/had this boundary crossed, though he doesn't know it yet, because Nick recorded Boston having sex with Top in the car. Based on what we've seen in the trailers and teasers around Nick and Boston, I think it is fair to expect further recording of Boston (and probably without his consent), and this time with visuals. Boston the voyeur, the documenter is having it turned around on himself.

Losing control

I mused last week about the ephemerality of control, and wondered if control would become more permanent/stable as we bring more permanent "evidence" into the mix (e.g., Boston's photos of Ray and Mew, Nick's recording of Boston and Top). This episode we got mostly an erosion of control again, though I remain interested to see where permanence of "evidence" = permanence of control or perhaps a permanence of consequences (especially given the above Chekhov's gun of a sort re: Boston not wanting intimate photos of himself - what permanent/serious consequences will this have for Boston and his father's campaign?).

Mew conceding his no sex rule with Top -> Mew has been trying to control Top through access to sex, trying to see how long he can hold his attention while dangling the promise of "sex eventually" like a carrot on a string. We saw that control slipping last episode and now this episode, Top asks for a reward for quitting drugs, clearly angling for something sexual, and Mew concedes. This is not to say that I think Mew was coerced or forced to have sex with Top, he chose to offer that, but I think it shows how much Mew's control is slipping and how he feels that. He feels like he needs to give something up, a concession, to keep Top around (to "win" this competition), so he offers sex and bends his previous rule.

Nick confronting Top and Top immediately gaining upper hand -> Nick calls Top to his apartment to warn him off Boston, but Nick doesn't realize that Top thoroughly does not want Boston and also immediately reveals his hand of how desperate he is for Boston's attention and care. Top asks Nick if this is blackmail (for money) and Nick says he doesn't want money, he wants Top to stay away from Boston. Top immediately understands the situation and reads Nick for it. Nick has lost control of the conversation; now it is Top who is lecturing Nick on staying away from Boston and Nick protesting he knows what he is doing.

Top rejecting Boston again, this time more firmly -> last week Boston showed Top the photo he took of Mew and Ray kissing and that seeded enough uncertainty in Top's mind he slept with Boston. This episode, Boston tries to leverage that control over Top again to get another repeat and Top firmly shuts him down. Boston is losing/has lost control over Top.

Public vs. private

Something else I've been noting is the continual presence of public, private, and public vs. private. @wen-kexing-apologist wrote about how the character of Boston hearkens back to the queer history of public sex and cruising. Other people noted characters hooking up in cars (Ray and Sand, Boston and Top), and in a photobooth (Boston and Top) - both public spaces. Other instances of intimacy have happened behind closed doors, in private (Boston and Boston's Hookup aka Drake [though was that a camera in Drake's room?], Boston and Nick, Ray and Sand, Mew and Top.

However, some moments the participants thought were private (or, as private as sex in a car parked outside can be) were not - Nick recorded Top and Boston having sex, Boston recorded Ray and Mew kissing. Boston's sexy photos of himself on his own phone were used by Nick as masturbation material. The private became public. This fits with the conversations we've been having around surveillance (cameras at the party, everyone having a phone in their pocket nowadays, etc.) and the lack of privacy in our digital age.

Next week, Boston and Nick walk in on Sand and Ray hooking up - they interrupt a private moment. Boston took photos of a private moment with Nick to keep - but will these photos remain private? With the Chekhov's gun of "Boston doesn't want intimate photos of himself" looming, will Boston's sex life remain private, or will photos and recording of him go public?

Comparisons

I've been thinking a lot over the last 4 weeks about comparisons, and how much this group compare themselves to each other. I don't really have any coherent thoughts more that that but I thought I would point it out. Boston compares himself often to Mew (always holding himself and his way of doing things as superior), especially when talking to Top; Boston compares Nick to Top (one is "cute" and "lovely" and the other is "hot" and "top tier"); Mew compares himself to Boston (more subtly - but there is definitely something "contra-Boston" there in how Mew thinks of sex, his relationship to sex, and how to wield sex as power); Ray compares himself to the others in the friend group (he is a "burden"); Ray compares himself to Top (Top is the first one to make Mew's heart flutter, Top is the one Mew has chosen); Nick compares himself to Top (lamenting that he feels like "nothing" compared to Top).

something about control (placing other people into boxes/making assumptions/limiting them to who you think they are)? something about instability of the self/self-esteem (comparing yourself to others constantly, perhaps as a side effect of being young, social media, etc.)?

There's an unformed thought here too about Ray and his crushes on people who "save" him (thinking of this post by @thatgirl4815). The idea of Ray being more into the saving/the kindness than the person themselves, of projecting his own ideas of who they are (saviour, hero, etc.) and what their actions mean (romantic declarations, etc.) vs. seeing them as a complete person in their own right...

I'm impressed how they keep characters feeling consistent across the MVs in Enstars. There's this moment in Angelic Grace where Wataru does this:

and I thought: ah, so Wataru. He's been doing that sort of move/pose in many recent MVs. And Starlight Parade, Dreaming Ocean and Eccentric Party Night (regular ver.) even have the overhead shot. They decided this is The Wataru Angle.

It's easier to see in move how these feel similar, especially Starlight Parade and Angelic Grace, so take a look at the MVs. Wataru is always a little extra (of course he is!). He actually does similar thing in Twilight Pentagram too but that's a bit hard to screenshot (~0:37 when they do a bit unsynchronized dancing).

Another thing to watch out for: Wataru often takes bigger steps or poses feet further apart than the other fine members. Btw, I don't mean just the super obvious moments, if you watch the non-event fine MVs, it's there too more subtly.

Probably All Our Memories, They're Haunted, a Deja Vu MV fic in which Yoohyeon slowly descends into killing all her friends.

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

This one's hard! I write a lot of fluffy one-shots where the point is the happiness? Like, Days of Splendour is literally about Weilan getting their happy ending wedding.

Similarly, Pivot is a fix-it ending for Critical Role season 1, in which Vax doesn't die and Gilmore gets to date him, too.

And The Fringe Benefits Of Being Family is fluffy future kidfic snippets in which Weilan get to be parents while their girls grow up.

Do you get hate on fics?

I once got a backhanded compliment on a fic where the commenter asserted they didn't usually read this ship because the shippers are all sus for shipping it and did it wrong, but my take passed their sniff-test. But they'd keep a close eye on my next work for this ship, just in case.

I vaguely recall getting a comment once and then immediately deleting it, but I can't for the life of me remember why. Probably for the best?

And there was that ask I once got that sticks in my brain because it was HILARIOUS. It asserted that because I have a recognizable style and used things like. Grammar and paragraph formatting for pacing, my writing was dry and boring and the worst and I just was copying myself with every new fic. I screenshot it and had a good laugh with friends over it :D

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yes, and a lot of different kinds! Sometimes I want to explore certain kinks, like tentacles (What Lies In Darkness, Weilan with eldritch!Shen Wei) or D/s (Good Vibrations, Dom!ZYL with sub!Shen Wei). Other times I just want to explore the relationship between the characters (Special Occasion, Weilan birthday blowjob) or worldbuilding (Long Night In Longcheng, Weilan canon au with dragon!Shen Wei).

Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

I love crossovers! I sadly haven't written too many, though. I have some old WIPs for a Naruto x Batman Beyond and a YGO! x SG-1 crossovers in my pile I occasionally return to, but nowhere close to finished. And I'm seriously considering writing a Guardian x Grimm crossover at some point lol

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

The closest I got (that I'm aware of) is someone copying the exact premise of my fic in a beat-by-beat way without crediting me for the inspiration. It was memorable because it was my most popular fic at that point and the fandom didn't have a similar premise before.

Have you ever had a fic translated?

Recently someone Furimmer translated my story An Intimate Touch into Russian! First time someone found my fic worth it to translate, I'm so happy still just thinking about it :D (It's also interesting to see they chose a different snippet to highlight in the summary, ha! That one seemed to resonate with them more. Can't blame them ;) )

Of my unposted WIPs, if I've moved on from the fandom, I'm unlikely to put them up. That's why I posted a deluge of WIPs when I left the ragehappy fandom, because I couldn't see myself picking them up again, but I also regularly regret not e.g. having posted certain Naruto fic way back when I was writing them. Now the quality just doesn't hold up to my current standard, but I'm not going back to edit them, either.

What are your writing strengths?

I think I'm pretty good at dialogue and fighting scenes! I practiced writing fighting scenes a lot because they used to be one of my weak spots, and now I'm comfy where I'm at skill level wise. I like pitting characters against each other, too, though I still have room for improvement in that area.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Environmental storytelling. Character conflict that lasts longer than a handful of scenes. 15k+ longfic (I'm terribly at keeping myself motivated to write them and then never finish). Slow burn and character/relationship development that takes a while to get to (keeping characters consistent but still having them change is hard to juggle! Especially since I have a tendency to write scenes out of order)

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

If it's a language I know, I'm comfortable with it! It needs to be done for effect, though. Unless we're talking prefixes/suffixes and other addresses of respect/relation that just don't translate well (e.g. yifu, shixiong, xiao/lao, -kun, -senpai, etc.) but reveal information about the exact way characters relate to each other.

First fandom you wrote for? Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters (back on German fanfic site Animexx). It was a self-insert OC portal fic where she ends up with Seto Kaiba xD I think I named her Leia or similar? I forget.

Favorite fic you've written?

The fic I'm writing for FFFX rn is a serious contender for top spot, if I manage to pull it off the way I imagine it.

I'm still pretty proud of Two Of A Kind (Guardian, Ya Qing/Zhu Hong & Shen Wei) and Safe In Your Hands (Weilan, post-canon with smut). The older a work is, the more I tend to see the flaws in it :') so my answers usually tend to be pretty recent stuff!

Hey you all, I'm coming here writing this post while I'm drunk, drunk of Oneus' love. So apologies if I'll do some typos or complete no sense but I'm into my feelings and a complete mess.

Yes, I'm still a complete mess after listening to the album for the sixth time at this point. I know, it's probably too much, but it's not my fault that this album is so good that it seems it lasts only five minutes and you want to crave more.

If you followed me for a while probably you know that I had the highest expectations since the first announcement came out. Not to mention how much I went crazy when Unforgettable came out...my poor moots who got their DMs full of screenshots can easily testify that probably I wasn't normal that day, lol

But I mean, I had all the reasons. I studied Greek Literature for almost 8 years now and seeing a group that not only mentions but also references a Greek myth which has been revisited in many different ways over the centuries made me think that this album was meant for me. I was sure I would have made the best connection with them this time.

The wonderful way Oneus rearranged both the myth and the Pygmalion's effect in the MV aesthetically speaking still amazes me. It seems they wanted to replicate the romanticism/neo-classical arts which are my favourite artistic movements.

And how I cannot talk about how they used Pygmalion's effect as a way to communicate how, despite what they've gone through, they wanted to show a new, better and shining image of themselves. And the only thing they're asking us is to support this new image.

The last time I saw a group dear to me asking to accept their new image of themselves was skz and believe me, it was hard. Not because I wasn't ready to accept them as what they would become in the future but mostly because I was alone. There has been a little time when I didn't want to engage with the fandom because of fan wars and since I was alone I just decided to leave for a while and just supporting silently the group before coming back.

But this time I decided to act differently for mostly three reasons: I'm mature, I have my moots this time and also because I really want to demonstrate that Oneus are dear to me. They're part of the best family ever happened in this industry, they're one of the few groups who didn't fail a concept once while giving their own identity and they proved last year to be much more stronger than you can imagine. Showing support and love is the minimum I can do for them right now. It's not much but for them still means a lot.

This year the WeUs family really proved to me that, at the exact moment I decided to support both Onewe and Oneus, I would receive the best experience ever. Both music and fandom-wise. And even if now I don't have all the energy to do much, I can easily say that yes I'm tired, but happy.

I'm so fucking happy today, you don't have any idea. I'm so full of love and I just want to spread it to them, my moots, anyone who will support them in any way.

At first i wanna talk about references in it. I think a lot of you have already seen that screenshots with the similar scenes in previous mvs... and of course there are a lot of frames that looks alike.

But i think each member represents not only one or even several mvs, but much more they represents their previous albums😬

So the first one we see is I.N 🍞

I saw an opinion, that this scene reminds Chill mv from Maxident. It is, bc it is also museum. But for me it more looks like museum from Back door. The colors, in my view, are more similar to that mv. In new trailer there are more white, but if we remember, in back door were a lot of people in white clothes (District 9 residents). And now, when skz are more popular and have more Stays, the white color has enlarged.

Here screenshots of Chill and Back door. You can see, that Chill is more blue, but Back door has more red and yellow colors~

Second one is Changbin 🐷🐰

With his identity all is much simplier. Though there are some references to Maxident with this dance with umbrella, his character looks like he is from Noeasy era. Really, he has similar bat, and also about romantic bgm... (my dear you finally got it!!!!♡) Do you remember how he was outraged of Hyunjin's bgm in Noeasy trailer and also the same scene in Christmas EveL~~

Thats why i think that Changbin represents Noeasy ⚡️

Here almost all agree that this scene is looks similar to Maxident's Give me yor TMI. And i think so too. There are much more to say about this numbers 644 and the jacket. But we will speak about it next time~

Also it's important, that this was Japanese album (i will tell about it also the next time).

Whats more about precisely All In. For me Han is a center of this mv. He opens and closes this video. He's a center at the beginning and also center in last dance break.

I think the obvious answer here for me is George, just because I think he has a deceptively complex character that people don't always pick up on or misunderstand? I think a lot of people see him as some kind of 1 dimensional 'posh boy' and actually I think there's a lot of light and shade in there. I think people are starting to write a lot more 'tortured' George which kind of touches on some of the nuances but yeah... I've seen a lot (and definitely written some too) where I'm like... This doesn't capture everything because there's SO many intriguing facets!

I also don't think I've ever read a Lewis characterisation that I love? I think people tend to... woobify him too much and he ends up nearly always being written as too passive and chill in fics?

3. screenshot or description of the worst take you've seen on tumblr

Hmmm this is a tough one. I can’t think of any stand out terrible takes. I think tumblr (and all fandom) can be a bit black and white when it comes to discourse and fail to address the nuances at times. I think people are a bit reactionary when it comes to real life age gap discourse for example, especially considering how many people will ship something with a similar age gap, if that makes sense?

Oh! That one account who kept insisted MV was the biggest victim of online abuse in all of F1 was a WILD ride for certain!

12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them

Idk that I particularly like anyone that's especially 'unpopular'? I guess loads of people hate George but tbh they're just wrong. I'm still not entirely sure why he seems to rile people more than others? Some people seem to think he's Satan and it's hilarious really, he's just an awkward guy who tries too hard?!

17. there should be more of this type of fic/art

Im not sure that there's a specific type of fic I think is underrepresented? I like au probably more than canon and I'm a sucker for when the au is particularly mundane? So everyone's a student or they just... go to work like normal people? I've always sucked at writing them because normality doesn't give you a plot so you kind of need to come up with something meatier to tie it all together but I've read some great ones! Also for some unknown reason, I'm a sucker for single parent fics. The added dynamic of added well written child oc just always seems to hit right for some reason and I don't read much of it these days!

22. your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores

I feel like the galex bike accident story is severely underrated (as are loads of other parts of galex lore, as I found out when I did that poll) but can you imagine nowadays if an f3 driver had to take an f2 driver to hospital because he’d had a bike accident when they were hanging out outside of racing, the absolute feral online reaction everyone would have to that news? So many parts of that story are just the stuff of fanfic… so much of their canon friendship is the stuff of fanfics and yet….!

The people on the white..the shadows make the black keys of the piano imagery. I feel the blue was for Jonghyun because of his Blue Night Radio show. Jinki isn't in all of the MV but is on all of studio album....I think his health affected him being at all the shoots and as shoots aren't linear to the completed MV he is in some shots and not others. He'll be back when he's well. SHINee were involved heavily in all aspects of production of the M/Vs and Album. This is the album they wanted to make..and 15yrs going SM couldn't really say much to that. The whole album is just perfect...it's fresh and new but totally SHINee....and Jinki's voice is OTW and Minho's voice particularly the song Gravity is just melt you in a puddle gorgeous..I know some people were saying this isn't SHINee they obviously didn't get that they've always done this.

Oh yes, SHINee is challenging herself. There's a lot of symbolism in that, and you're right, because Taemin confirmed that it also includes references to the solo. I think that the piano is generally associated with creating specific music and here we have 360' which means more possibilities in creating.

I love the idea that the blue in the MV could be reference to Jjong or to Onew's first solo title song, "Blue". I also noticed watching this at the end of the MV, the ground they're standing on and the broken down piano in the background are covered in blue where they weren't before ^_^ It's as if SHINee has given the music their own "color" and taken over.

How would you describe your style?

Hm. That's always a hard question for me. Mine is a bit more cartoony and certainly takes liberties when it comes to how realistic it is, but at the same time I try to get things close to accurate (such with anatomy and detail and whatnot).

I can't find words that pinpoint what my style looks like, but I can certainly find the inspirations that got it to where it is now. (Anime and various animations!)

Since we're speaking of my style though, fun fact: I CAN'T for the life of me imitate other people's art styles. It'll always look really similar to my regular art style, just changed up a bit. I see challenges were people imitate different art styles and realize, "Wow! That's cool! How the HELL did they do that!!"

17. What do you love getting compliments about?

When it comes to art? Anything, to be honest. Hell, I'm happy if people reblog my art without any tags. (Although, once or twice, I've gotten an "inspo" or a keysmash or a slight ramble and that really made my day.)

What I like most though is feedback on my OCs. I'm honestly rather bad at character design, and I love knowing what people think about them. Alas, people hardly see my OC art...when I do post it. </3

22. What inspires you?

MANY THINGS, my friend. Some things have made lifelong shifts on my art style (ex: the shading under the chin technique I use is derived from the anime Black Clover!), but most often, I get inspired to draw a specific thing.

Music often inspires me- especially vocaloid, and especially if there's art featured in the video. One of my favorite vocaloid songs is Reckless Battery Burns and I'm obsessed with the MV in it.

TV and movies inspire me, too. I adore the Owl House and have noticed some completely unintentional similarities between Hunter and one of my own characters! Also, bringing back Black Clover, there's a lot of worldbuilding from Masked inspired from that anime.

Books inspire me too! A good example of that is my Shapeshifter/Badgeseller 1984 comic. Another series that gives me inspiration is the Giver series by Lois Lowry (not just the first book, the entire thing, all four books). Ooh, and also the Pandava series (or the Aru Shah series, I don't fully know what to call it). Writing is cool! :)

Secret question: 20. A piece from this year that you're really proud of!

Most of my art this year is Shadow Rift, haha...let me see what I can find.

^ This one is a good starting point! This one was me playing around with lighting. I found a new technique to use with my art program, and was just messing around with it. So I paid less attention to the background and colors to do so. Here's a fraction of a screenshot I took when I realized just how good it was!

I was going to compare it to another one of Shadow Rift's pieces, but I realized that discussion would be too long. And would ruin the magic of the piece I was comparing. Whatever.

Next one has bright colors!

I was mostly playing around with colors and proportions on this one, and I really like the turnout. This is the rare piece of Doodle OC art. Her name is Krystll, and YES I will infodump about her if asked.

I struggled with this one.

Anyway here's EPILOGUE: Young Forever, Fire, and Save ME. Reminder :/ for my least favourite fit, """ for my favourite, S for fits I'd (partially) like to wear/ would be my style.

Like give me good pictures of their outfits? Is it so hard? I know these were all filmed artsy as fuck, why did I have to take terrible screenshots in order to get an idea of what they were wearing?

Starting with Young Forever. I'm pretty sure the two pictures on top are from promotional material and not actually from the MV (that or I'm remembering wrong, I did these a while ago), but I'm using them anyways. Well, a little bit. I don't love the shorts, but Namjoon's is my least favourite. Probably because of the suit-shorts combination. It just doesn't work for me. It looks like he forgot to put on his pants. But I realise this is a very specific opinion so don't hate me for it please, I don't actually think he looks like that. Yoongi's fit is my favourite because the flowers look cute on him. Wouldn't really wear any of these fits though, because I definitely can't pull of the pants. Especially not with long socks.

Moving one down; pretty boy suits-ish fits! I don't have a least favourite because I can hardly tell what the full fits are on this picture, but Yoongi's is again my favourite. The beret and flower-bowtie thing are cool to me. Wouldn't wear it though, I don't think a beret looks good on me. But I think I would look cute in Jungkook's, Jin's, or Taeyhung's fits. Also honorary mention to Namjoon's jacket, I really want to know what that texture is like, it looks so interesting.

Lastly for this MV, my terrible screenshots. The fits are all very similar, which makes Jimin's my least favourite because he doesn't fully fit the vibe with the stripes. But that's not a strong opinion, because again these fits are so similar. I like the pattern on Yoongi's shirt the most (triple win for Yoongi on this mv!), and I would wear it too. Now to the upper right, FIRE! They look so cool in that video I was slightly surprised to remember the amount of holiday patterned shirts. Anyway, starting with the fits in the middle, Jin's is my least favourite because it looks like he dressed up for the office while the rest got the same memo of... whatever this theme is. But he looks good with a v-neck so I can't complain too much. I think I could wear what Jungkook & Taeyhung are wearing, since I like their jackets the most and am still not over ripped jeans. Though again maybe not skinny jeans. Taeyhung's is my favourite, because the contrast of his hair and the cloudy sky jacket works so well.

Now the alternative outfits of the MV, in the upper right corner, where again someone got a wrong memo. It's slightly less cohesive but it's pretty clear Taehyung wanted a cowboy hat and the rest is mostly still wearing the same vibe as the other outfits. If I'd try to wore more colours I'd do it in the way Jungkook's & Yoongi's fits work. When I was making this I said Jungkook's was my favourite, but I'm not too sure now, I like both a lot.

Finally (for now, I have so many more of these posts coming), Save ME. No good pictures, but as it says, "all good fits tbh". I think it helps that they look cool, dramatic, but also incredibly comfortable. I'd honestly wear all of them (I'm bringing back short sleeves over long ones, at least for me, you can join too if you like). Jimin's is my favourite because of the sleeves thing, along with Yoongi's but his shoes are a little too light for me.

Girls' Generation - I Got A Boy

Alright, well that’s the album. It actually reminds me a lot of Pink Tape. It didn’t have the Moment that Pink Tape had though. Like, it needed a random dubstep breakdown in the middle of a hype song, and we didn’t get that here. Or, I guess we did, but it was in the first song on the album. And that kind of messed with me. But I think that’s something that Pink Tape does which no other album has the courage to do. Rum Pum Pum is a good title track, but there are way better title track options on Pink Tape. But they are where they are on the structure of the album because the album demands it. If they stuck IGAB as track 7 on this album, maybe my perception of the album would be different. Then again, maybe the biggest issue is that I already Knew IGAB, so I didn’t get the same shock effect. Average score of 8.0 which feels about right. It’s a Very good album, I enjoyed it a lot.

It sounds very SNSD and not very Red Velvet overall. Very f(x) too.

I literally watched this music video last night

This is #2 on my favorites list

And also, fun fact, the first time I heard this song it was a 10/10, and it’s stayed a 10/10 since. No other song has ever done that for me.

I read once that the percussion is intentionally stripped back in this song; many of the percussion roles are actually filled by synths

The chorus is actually so good

Which does raise the question: is the song Elevated by the simple percussion? Or is it hindered? Because this type of sound is Nonexistant in modern kpop, you’d never catch a chorus with that simple of a percussion section

Honoka meets a mysterious woman in the School Idol Movie who bears heavy resemblance to her both in appearance and personality/mannerisms, as well the woman's backstory being identical to Honoka's current situation. Honoka meets her in New York when she gets lost and finds the lady doing a street performance, who then guides her back to her friends. She disappears before any of them see her, leaving her mic stand with Honoka. Honoka doesn't see the woman again and takes the mic home with her.

She "meets" the woman again back in Tokyo, though it's revealed to actually be Honoka's dream. In her dream, mystery woman references Honoka's childhood that was shown in the film's prologue. Honoka never returns the mic stand and the last time it is seen is in Honoka's room after the dream.

The most commonly accepted theory is that this woman is Honoka from the future, and the woman herself acts as if she knows Honoka and what will happen in the future. It's also worth noting that she is not in Honoka's imagination (at least during the NYC scene) as she interacts with other people.
