The tour had gone surprisingly well, but Liam was definitely ready for it to end. The final night of his tour was a great one, though. The fans were incredible, and Zayn had even come for it. It all just made his night.

"Thank you all for coming! Love you all, and I hope to see you soon!"

As Liam jogged off the stage, listening to the screaming fans, he couldn't help but smile. He really was lucky. Not only did he have amazing fans, but he had a wonderful boyfriend waiting for him. He couldn't be happier.

"Amazing concert, Li!" Zayn grinned when he saw Liam, and held out a water bottle. "Proud of you."

Liam smiled, taking the bottle from Zayn. "Thanks, Z. I'm really happy you came."

"You kidding? I wouldn't miss this. Even if I had something come up, I would've made it work."

"I really appreciate it," Liam grinned. "So. Any plans for tonight, then?"

"Well, I actually did have something in mind. There's a nice little place just outside of town, if you'd like to come with me?"

"Sure! It sounds nice. As long as I'm with you, I'm sure I'll enjoy it."

Zayn chuckled. "You sap."

"Well, I've been away from you for weeks. I should have a right to be a sap."

"Fair enough."

The drive was fairly short, only being about twenty minutes. Liam was tired, though, and nearly fell asleep a few times on the way there.

"Alright, here we are," Zayn announced as he parked by the side of the road.

"Okay," Liam yawned. "What is this place?"

"It's just a little pond. It's really pretty. There's a good view of the stars, and there's a few ducks down here."

Liam's face lit up, a bright smile reaching his lips. "That sounds amazing."

"I thought you might enjoy that. And luckily, there are some street lights, so we can get down there easily."

"Let's go, then! I'm excited to see this place."

The two stepped out of the car, beginning the walk, joining their hands together. The air was cool with a gentle breeze, surprisingly nice for the season.

"This is already really nice," Liam smiled, gently squeezing Zayn's hand. "Thank you."

Zayn returned the smile, squeezing Liam's hand back. "I'm glad you like it, Li."

They finally reached the pond, hands still joined together. The place was better than Liam would have imagined. The pond was surrounded by willow trees and bushes decorated with lights. The sky was clear, showing off bright, twinkling stars and a large moon. It was just the perfect night.

"This is beautiful, Z," Liam said, voice nearly dropped to a whisper.

"Isn't it? It's a really special place."

The two were quiet for a bit, just enjoying the peace of the night. It was all normal until Zayn pulled something out of his pocket.

Liam's eyes widened once he realized what was happening. Zayn was in front of him, down on one knee, and holding a ring box.

"Liam, you are the love of my life. The man I want to spend my time with. Would you make me the happiest man alive, and marry me?"

Liam stood there for a moment in shock, tears in his eyes.

"Yes! Yes, Zayn. I'll marry you."

“I love you, Li. More than anything.”

“Who’s the sap now?”

There's No Other Place by @nikogda - I LOVE THIS FIC VERY MUCH A LOT. i mean... hybrid a/b/o nesting. perfection! the entire world building in this fic is so incredibly detailed and cool and the VIBE is amazing. everything is fleshed out and so unique and interesting, but the incredibly personal vibe of the nesting!!!! i cannot even explain how much i love it. louis thinks he’s being SO SNEAKY and he is NOT but that’s okay. haha anyway, a great fic for sure and while the nesting isn’t the most important aspect, it’s definitely more than just a minor detail.

When Tomorrow Comes by @jacaranda-bloom - ALPHA. NESTING. ALPHA NESTING. HOW BRILLIANT???? i honestly could NOT believe i had struck gold when i saw this post hahaha i’d never even considered??? the WORLDS this fic opened for me, and it was done so so brilliantly. niall is sooooo shady, and poor harry doesn’t have a clue it’s even happening, and omg i just... this fic is amazing and it’s because of dee that i’m going to be exploring alpha nesting in at least two of my nesting series fics that i’ll be writing at some point lol highest honors and five gold stars to dee.

You're right there's a lot of Zayn's songs that I relate to Ziam but to answer your question, I think there's 5 songs that are more obviously about them. The first one is I Won't Mind ofc, "we are who we are when no one's watching" "I'm not allowed to talk about it" like c'mon! Second is Fool For You bc "this love is tainted" and I mean it is given all the stunts etc and "given the chance I'd do it again" he'd go through it all again bc he loves Liam that much. Third is Common bc "there's nothing common about us" "common ain't us" and Z&Li's relationship isn't common in regard to society since they're a same-sex interracial and interfaith couple. Fourth is Tightrope bc "there's something about that neon red glow" and red's been related to Liam since the 1D days, and "we are who we are when we're alone"! Fifth is River Road bc he uses lines from On Love and Marriage which he posted on IG (when he'd been publicly single for a while already) and then got tattooed while still publicly single.

As for Liam you're right we can't really tell for now but he did say he related to the lyrics of Midnight so maybe that. And Sunshine yes bc "everyone's trying to be the same, till I met you I was on that wave, but you really on something different, you do you it must be nice and I think it's rubbing off on me" I mean this screams Zayn to me aha.

Hey nonnie, sorry its taken me so long to reply but if you’re following me you know I’ve been travelling lately and have been more scatterbrained than usual. Not that I’m ever not scatterbrained, but its been just a little crazier than usual!

Now I wouldn’t go as far to say I hate Larries. After all their delusions can be pretty funny sometimes!

Joking aside, I don’t hate Larries, I love Larries, I’m a Larry, so I really hesitate to tarry the whole group with the same brush. However I do strongly agree with you that there are those who are complete hypocrites. Nothing annoys more more than when Larries ™ treat the other boys, other celebrities, their friends and even family as one more side character to the Larry Show.

In particular when Larries ™ flood comment sections asking or in some cases, ordering people to confirm rumors/the couple being together. The absolute fucking disrespect. Not just because they’re flooding comment sections in videos streams, tweets, what have you, that sometimes have nothing to do with the couple in question, but because its presumptuous and rude as fuck to think they’re owed a coming out- just because they’re fans of the boys.

Stop it. Thats fucking ugly as hell.

While I have no doubt all the boys will one day be out (as referenced by their continued efforts in fighting the closet. I don’t get the sense the boys will just stop at being freed from their contractual obligations). It should and will be on their own terms. Provided they’re not forcibly outed some other way.

Coming out is a deeply personal experience and no one, no one ever, has the right to out someone else. I’ll never not be absolutely furious at the Larries ™ who posted about having ‘receipts’ that would out the boys. Which… tbh weren’t receipts at all but thats a whole other story. I’m also still angry at the reactions after Liams Attitude spread that wouldn’t have been as bad if not for the entitled fandom that peddled ridiculous claims beforehand about Liam confirming Larry to be real.

I mean… What the actual fuck. Setting aside the fandom experience of the time, and boy was it an experience. What right would Liam have confirming Louis and Harry’s relationship? I mean, get some perspective? It doesn’t help that a lot of fandom adults were the ones coming up with, and reblogging those theories and the younger fans ate it up. It would have made more sense for Louis and Harry to do it but idk maybe I’m still out of touch for thinking so. I mean, it felt like every other week someone was talking about Larry coming out. It was such a shit storm oh my god.

Biggest issue I still have with them is that the entitled behaviour hasn’t stopped. For some it seems like, Larry coming out is it for them. Like pack it up, goodbye, shows over, Louis and Harry are gay and in a relationship and everything is rainbows, we get to see cute pictures of them and everyone lives happily ever after.

Yeah, no. Coming out, for anyone, is just the beginning, can’t even begin to imagine what its like for them. They’re still going to need everyones support, and it irritates me that for some fans it seems so fucking conditional.

Not to mention Larries ™ using the hetties and management tactics against the other parts of the fandom to silence them.

The sense of disconnect, entitlement and victimhood of some Larries ™ is absolutely ridiculous.

I’m not going to say its a surprise to me that so many in the Ziam fandom are POC, LGBT+, and Neurodivergent and any combination of those, but I am going to say I’ve read a lot of Larry fics that just have Het sex made gay. Those in the Ziam fandom just tend to look at facts in a different way than Larries do due to their life experiences. A interfaith, interracial, relationship where one or both partners fall under the Bi umbrella (not saying Louis or Harry can’t be or aren’t Bi+ but rumors, and the way the fandom markets them, puts them firmly in the gay category) looks very, very different than gay or straight relationship. Both looking from outside and being in one. There’s just different dynamics at play that aren’t often realized or understood by the gays and hets.

Its not a bad thing. All relationships are different. The issue is that theres a lot of biphobia/racism/religious prejudice etc that arises from people being unwilling to understand the inherent differences.

Taking myself for example, I’m bi, like, bi as hell, and I don’t understand how gays and hets only like one gender. I just don’t. Can’t wrap my head around it. If someone asks me to choose one gender over the others to prefer I can’t. Its so stressful. My brain goes into panic mode and it feels like I’m being torn apart. My sense of identity is shaken- its a shit feeling. I just can’t lie to myself like that. If other people feel the same well, its no wonder bi+ have such high rates of depression and suicide. Its not about choosing who to like, there is no choice, I just feel attraction to everyone. Aces, I get. Its similar to being the opposite of what I feel, or not feeling an attraction to someone I’m not interested in. Easy. Gays and hets? I’m completely lost on.

Completely, and I know I’m not the only one who feels that way. But that doesn’t mean I’m not willing to try and understand where they’re coming from. Its alien to me, personally, but I’m not going to shut down the fact, that theres a fuck ton of people who only like one gender or try and make up reasons as to why they’re actually bi+

I digress, none of the boys fall neatly into the gay stereotypes, its just that parts of the Larry fandom have boxed Louis and Harry into certain roles to fit preconceived notions (likely do to them initially fitting in better with the white, sassy, somewhat effeminate twink thats been plastered all over Hollywood as their “LGBT+ representation” for years. Gag), they can understand better, and only look for proof to back up their theories but don’t look at things objectively.

They really need to get out more and make some LGBT+ friends that aren’t on the internet and talk to some gay elders. They need educating that’s not the often sanitized and insulting Hollywood version, that’s all I’m saying.

They made Louis and Harry more palatable for themselves and its… really gross.

Some Larries ™ turned the boys into their fandom and fanfiction stereotypes when they’re so much more than that. The Sony leaks should have been enough to dissuade the fandom, and prove that the brand sold to the broader audience is just that- a brand, and yet… Niall only talks about food and golf and Ireland and is only allowed to be straight or ace. If he exists at all its just to be Capt Niall. Liams slow and dumb and depending on the day he’s either Capt Liam or a horrific abusive homophobe. Zayns just The Worst, a unstable drug addict, and the boys hate each other, and they should have kicked him out of the band sooner because he never wanted to be part of them anyway, etc.

It drives me absolutely around the bend some days. They’re real people who don’t owe anyone anything, especially not coming out.

Yes, I think they will. But they’re not obligated to. They can change their minds, I’ll support them regardless of an “official” coming out or not.

Look, a part of me gets it. They wanna be right, they wanna prove the haters wrong, they want to be able to say I called it all along! The vindication will be sweet.

But like, it takes a quick look at someone other than Louis and Harry to realize theres something hinky going on with Liam, Zayn and Niall. Please listen to their fans who have spent just as much time as you have looking into Louis and Harry compiling together evidence.

It might take a weekend to watch the ILYSM and pterodactyl bros videos and a few more hours looking into some Niall blogs, which isn’t much compared to the hours I know they’ve spent looking into Larry. At least then they’ll have enough information to form an opinion on things.

I wonder, for some, what would happen if Larry didn’t come out, or didn’t come out first, or one of the other boys was outed against their will. Because… I don’t know. It seems like some would rather just be proven right at this point.

Hello anon wow this is long a lot to unpack so I'll start with your song questions.

Idk why ziammies are suddenly trying to claim songs that have ALWAYS been larry related. Especially when Liam said in an interview that Louis and him were a song writing duo for 1D BUT that he wrote the melodies and it was Louis who wrote the song lyrics. Last I checked melodies don't equal meaning of a song so how are these songs about ziam?

Some examples of this....

They are trying to claim Home but Liam said the song was personal to Louis and how when he read the lyrics he didn't want to change them. Home is also a direct response to If I Could Fly with ONLY Harry on the credits. Home was leaked by Louis the night of Belfest when Larry found out BG was being taken pasted the birth of a kid and it pissed off Louis so he leaked Home as payback bc it was clearly a loud song management didn't want on the album.

They are trying to claim 18 but the song was written by Ed who said [compared to other 1D songs he wrote for them] he wrote 18 with a 1D member in mind. [That is why we claim the song at all.] Ed was closeted in the band to Harry next being Louis and Niall he was the least closeted to Zayn and Liam. Side note Ed has a song called Friends that he said was about 2 friends of his who fell in love and when a fan yelled L&H he laughed/smirked and said init so it makes the most sense 18 was written with Harry in mind. Plus 18 is about meeting/loving someone sense they were 18 and it was only Louis who was 18 when they all met and it was Harry who would scream NO 16 when singing the song. Also larry changed the lyrics to HIM and would stare directly at each other when singing 18 livem According to ziam MPs ziam weren't a couple until at least 2 years into the band so why would 18 make sense for them also given they were both 17 when they met & none ever went NO 17 when singing it.

They are trying to claim No Control but that song as we know is about the morning after sex and the second round they end up having. Like stated before Louis wrote the lyrics to 1D songs and Niall plus Larry always made it DAMN CLEAR what that song was about. Also remember when Harry would always jam out hard core when Louis would sing his part in No Control aka majority of the song. Yeah that song is Louis song no doubt.

They try to claim Alive which makes no sense bc Zayn nor Liam is on the credits at all only Louis. They say it's bc Liam said he related to the song ok I see that but still he didn't write it and still how does this song equate to ziam? Alive is more a song used as proof Louis isn't straight bc it's about self exceptance of who you are even tho others around you for along time made u feel there is something wrong with you. It's about Louis who is more confident part way through the story being told and then helping his lover [who seems to be a bit insecure about themselves] except and love who they are. Since Liam didn't write on it the relationship aspect couldn't be about him and Zayn. Since he said he just relates to Alive at BEST it could mean he might not be straight but it can't be used as proof of who his partner is when he didn't write on it.

There's others but I think you get the point they have always been larry or hinting at Louis sexuality songs so I don't get why or how they are suddenly saying their ziam songs? Myself @lovemylarents and @fearlessmoon09 think bored people in quarantine is what happened to change the landscape.

To your next question warning selfies...

So warning selfies was something Louis did everytime something BG stunt related was going to happen. He started it and did it a ton back in 2016/17 when BG stunting was massive for him. Liam never had anything to do with warning selfies and Louis warning selfies were ALWAYS like I said BG related so suddenly ziammies going Liam does warning selfies for things involving Maya or Gigi makes no sense. It was ALWAYS a Louis thing.

The lot of them were piled on Liam’s Livingroom sofa when he noticed it for the first time—well, noticed isn’t the right word, more like fully realized just what Zayn meant.

It was movie night, and Zayn had eagerly claimed the spot next to Liam on the couch, practically shoving Harry out of the way to get there first. Harry let out a resigned sigh in response, and Liam wasn’t sure why—at first, anyway. Zayn almost always sat next to Liam on movie nights—and in general—so Liam didn’t understand why Harry was acting so exasperated. This was normal, this was a regular occurrence and—

“Sorry,” Harry muttered. “I almost forgot your indefinite, horribly possessive claim on Liam,” he finished with a roll of his eyes. Zayn shot a glare back his way, and Harry only raised his eyebrows in response.

With a muttered, “Shut up, Harry,” Zayn settled more fully into Liam’s side, tucking himself as far under Liam as he could, shuffling until his arms were wrapped around one of Liam’s and his head was on Liam’s shoulder.

Liam felt his eyebrows draw together, confusion settling over him. Really, that exchange had been a bit harsh for what was supposed to be their relaxed movie night. Liam knew it wasn’t exactly hostile, but still. Harry did still seem rather annoyed as he settled in on Liam’s other side, purposefully choosing to sit in one of the furthest spots from Zayn available.

It was apparently forgotten for Zayn, though, because the minute he was fully settled into Liam’s side, he let out a soft, content sigh.

“God, Li. You’re always so warm. ‘S nice.”

Liam shot Zayn a smile, settling back into the cushions, ready to forget the whole exchange himself.

“Thank God for muscles,” Zayn continued, shooting a wink up at Liam.

And it was then, in that moment right there, that Liam understood what was happening—why Harry had been so exasperated, why he had made the comments he did.

Zayn was flirting with him—and he had been for a while now, now that Liam thought about it.

Or, at least Liam was pretty sure it was flirting. Still, it didn’t hurt to ask—

“Wait,” Liam interrupted as his eyebrows drew together again. “Are you flirting with me?” And if his voice sounded two parts incredulous and one part really freaking confused, that’s because he was, okay? It wasn’t every day you realized your best friend was flirting with you—correction, has been flirting with you for months now.

Liam now realized all those times Zayn was being silly, or over dramatic, or extra clingy (see: possessive)—now Liam realized he was flirting. Zayn had been actively flirting with him for so long and Liam had been, well, oblivious. He’d been completely blind to it; he hadn’t even considered that maybe Zayn had feelings for him.

“Wow, took you long enough,” Niall laughed.

“Yeah,” Louis drawled. “He has been for a while now, lad.”

And Liam knew that, okay? He did! So what that he had just had that revelation, but all the proof was there. Zayn really had been flirting all along.

Wonderful, beautiful, so, so sweet Zayn. Zayn, the guy that Liam had been half in love with but too terrified to do anything about it for months now. Zayn, the guy who was currently sat next to Liam and blushing an absolutely adorable shade of red. Zayn who had been flirting with him.

Ok, OMG let me start by saying how sorry I am it took so long to write it. I kept having ideas but was never able to actually write them and this morning this idea popped in my head and I wrote it. I went it the 61 since another person had also asked for it and I really really hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it 💕

“Lou, I think I fucked up,” is the first thing Zayn said when Louis finally picked up his phone.

“You’re gonna have to be more specific because you do that quite a bit.”

“Fuck you, Tommo. I didn’t called you to go all smart ass on me.”

“Okay sorry, what happened?” Laughed Louis, annoying Zayn in the process but at least he was listening to him.

“I think Liam’s mad at me.”

“Liam? Mad at you? What have you possibly done to upset Liam? He’s a puppy, he never gets mad. And he looks at you like you hung the fucking moon.”

“We, we went out last night and-,” started Zayn but he stopped himself. He didn’t know where to start.

“And what? Z, you called me you clearly needed to talk but I’m gonna hang up if you don’t tell me exactly what you did to upset Liam.”

“We went out,” started Zayn again, “and it was fun we were dancing and when I went to get drinks, when I came back Liam had this lad plastered to his back with his hands all over Liam and he was grinding against him.”

“Okay, I still don’t see why Liam is mad at you though.”

“I saw red and I might have pushed the guy away and I dragged Liam out of the bar,” continued Zayn

Zayn was shaking just thinking back about this man touching Liam, his Liam. He took a deep breath trying to calm himself.

“When we got outside Liam was screaming at me asking why I did this and I told him you’re mine, I don’t share. And then he left.”

“You did what?!” shouted Louis, “And you really wonder why Liam is mad at you? You’re a twat Zayn.”

“I tried calling him but he’s been sending me to voicemail since last night.”

“You’re a twat,” repeated Louis, “he doesn’t even know you’re in love with him and suddenly you pull this shit on him? How would you react if you were in his place?”

Zayn took a moment to think, at first he thought he would be happy but Louis was right. Zayn would be upset too if he had no idea his best friend was in love with him and did this, out of the blue.

“I’d react the same I guess.”

“Yes you would. You need to talk to him and you need to be sincere and tell him how you feel but first you need to apologize.”

“I’m scared of telling him, what if it ruins our friendship?”

“Seriously? I think you did a good job at this, last night. If anything this can maybe salvage your friendship.”

“Maybe, I hope you’re right. But anyway, he’s not taking my calls,” whined Zayn and Louis sighed.

“I can call him and try to convince him to talk to you.”

“You would? You’re the best, Tommo.”

“Yeah yeah, keep this for after I have convince him.”

Zayn tried calling Liam again but he was sent to voicemail once more. He needed to do something to occupy himself before he went nuts so he put his phone face down on the coffee table and decided to reorganize his cd and vinyl collection. Zayn had wanted to do that for a while and now was the best time and it would keep him from going crazy and checking his phone every 10 seconds.

Zayn was sitting on the floor in the middle of his living room with piles of vinyls all around him when his mobile vibrated on the coffee table. Zaun scrambled over, knocking one of the piles with his foot, to get his phone. He hoped it was Louis and it was good news.

You can call him, you have 5 minutes. He’s really pissed.

He’s really pissed. Zayn couldn’t stop reading the message, over and over and he felt his eyes fill with tears but now wasn’t the time. He wiped his eyes angrily with the sleeve of his jumper and dialed Liam’s number, hoping he would really pick it up.

“You have five minutes,” Liam answered, his voice cold. Zayn felt the tears coming back.

“I’m sorry. I’m sorry I’ve been an arse, I’m sorry for what I did and what I said.”

“Ok.”

“Ok? That’s all you have to say?”

“What do you want me to say Zayn? You think I will forgive you only because you said sorry? You think that’s enough?”

“No, but I have no idea what else to say, Li.”

“The truth would be great, if you tell me what this was all about his could be a great start.”

Be sincere, Louis said. Zayn knew he was right, he had to do it and tell Liam everything.

“I can do that but, not over the phone. Can you come over? Or I can come to you. Whatever you want Li,” pleaded Zayn.

Liam sighed and stayed silent for a moment. Zayn thought he would hang up and it would be done.

“I’ll be there in half an hour.”

“Thank you.”

“Don’t, I still haven’t forgave you.”

Zayn hung up and tried to make his flat look presentable, he washed the dishes that he had let in the sink for the past two days and threw his dirty clothes in the hamper in the corner of his bedroom. He made his bed and brushed his teeth. Zayn was putting on a clean t-shirt when Liam knocked on his door.

Zayn walked to the door slowly, trying to swallow the ball that had formed in his throat. He had never been more nervous in his life. Zayn knew there was a chance Liam would never look at him again or talk to him again but Louis was right, it was already like that after last night.

“Hey,” said Zayn, trying to smile.

Liam walked in and removed his jacket, hanging it in the closet as he always did. Zayn did a small victory dance in his head. It was a small gesture but it was better than if Liam had kept his jacket on. Zayn closed the door behind Liam and walked to the living room where his piles of vinyls were still everywhere. It was the only thing he hadn’t cleaned because he intended to finish organizing them later.

Zayn sat on the couch first and Liam sat next to him but leaving more space than he usually did and Zayn felt his heart clench. He was used to have Liam plastered on his side whenever they sat on the couch to watch a movie or listen to music. Liam always sat between his thighs with his back against Zayn’s chest or Zayn would lay on his side and put his head on Liam’s thighs. Liam’s fingers gently running through his hair. Of course he hadn’t really expected them to sit like that today but it still hurt to see Liam sat so far from him.

“I don’t know where to start,” said Zayn, fiddling with his thumbs nervously, unable to look at Liam in the eyes.

“The truth would be great. I need you to tell me why you act like such a twat last night.”

“Because I love you okay, because I love you Liam.”

“You wha-”

“No please, let me finish and then you can do or say whatever you want, but please let me finish first.”

Liam nodded and Zayn started talking again.

“I love you, I have loved you for a while now but I have always been able to keep my feelings in check, even when I felt like my heart was being ripped out of my chest every time you left the club with someone, every time you have a boyfriend or girlfriend I haven’t said anything. I bottled everything up, kept my feelings to myself and put on a brave face for the sake of our friendship. Because your friendship means the world to me. I can’t see myself without you in my life. I love you and yesterday I saw red when I saw this lad’s hands all over you. It doesn’t excuse my behaviour or what I said. I’ve been a twat and if you never want to hear from me again I will understand and won’t try to contact you again. It will hurt but it’s your choice and I will respect it.”

Zayn was still looking at his thighs and Liam wasn’t saying anything. When he looked up he noticed Liam was crying and this was the last thing he wanted.

“Please don’t cry. Why are you crying?”

“You love me?”

Zayn nodded.

“And you have been for a while?”

Zayn nodded again.

“Why didn’t you tell me before? Were you ever planning on telling me?”

“I was scared and no, probably not.”

“Why?”

“Because you don’t feel the same so I didn’t see the point. It would just have made things awkward. Amd last night, I didn’t think before I spoke. This was some possessive and jealous bullshit. This isn’t me and I am sorry I said it.”

“What could make you think I don’t feel the same, Z?”

What? Was he really saying what Zayn thought he was saying. No, this was impossible.

“You never…I don’t know. I just know you never felt anything else than friendship for me.”

“You’re even more dense than I thought,” said Liam and Zayn made an offended noise in the back of his throat.

“Z, I spend most of my days and nights here. We sleep in the same bed and cuddle all the time. I pack your lunch for work, I leave you cute post-it notes on your sandwich because I know it will make you smile. I have missed days from work to take care of you last time you got a cold. Do you really think I do that with all my friends? Do you think I do that with Louis?”

“No, no I don’t. Oh my god, I’m really dense.”

Liam smiled and nodded.

“So, what now?” asked Zayn.

Liam shuffled closer and took Zayn’s hands between his.

“Will you be my boyfriend?”

Zayn smiled and nodded enthusiastically.

“Yes, I will.”

“Don’t ever pull some kind of possessive bullshit on me ever again though.”

“I promise,” answered Zayn seriously.

“Now kiss me.”

Zayn didn’t have to be told twice before he closed the gap between their lips.

(1/3) Hii, here is a short story why SUMMER LOVE is one of the bestest songs 1d has ever done! The lyrics? A little bit corny, yeah, but they're so honest and vulnerable, it's just so *cries in summer love* "You always will be my summer love" Like, that shit hurts, you know? It doesn't really mean anything to me, because I've never had summer romance, but I think that you don't have to relate to the song and what it's saying for it to hit you hard, you know? And this one just hits hard.

(2/3) (I hope my sentences make sense dfklg) It's also one of the songs ot5 had written together. How it's composed, the melody just gives me the gently feeling, the opposite of the feeling I get when I listen to the lyrics and it's a nice touch. I love listening to live versions the most, because Zayn and Liam sound A M A Z I N G. How they harmonize, how their voices just fit so well together and that high note Liam does when he sings "you were mine for the summer" after Zayn's solo?

(3/3) It's literally how I imagine celestial beings sound like and I feel so blessed. I don't like that we can't hear Niall sing, because I really love his voice. And I feel that's the only con of this song. In studio version, I live for Louis' part when he sings "summer love" near the end. The power his voice carries has me shooketh. It's one of my faves and I wish I could've heard it live. That's all :D

I swear I was going to work on between the moonlight and the lane but my hand slipped and this happened. Idek. It wants to be more, but really it’s just 2300+ words of ziam smut. It’s been hanging out in my docs under the dubious title of ‘rnb softdom’ for about a year and I have a vague idea of where I was going with it. I think.

Two points, though:

1. This sex could be safer. 

2. Even though we’ve never interacted in a meaningful way, I’m pretty sure at least 60% of this is the fault of @jaegyoo

Zayn hasn’t even been back in LA for 3 hours yet when the message pops up. In reality, he probably shouldn’t. There are responsibilities and phone calls and appointments to make but he’s already messaging his driver and anticipation makes his hands tremble. It’s been too long.

The back entrance of the ostentatious house he’s dropped off at is completely hidden from the street and entirely too familiar. Every time he comes here, it feels like he’s risking more. They’ve hooked up in New York and London and once in Milan, but LA feels extra dangerous somehow.

Zayn has barely shut the door before he’s greeted by plush lips and large, warm hands cradling his spine. All the tension that’s been holding him together for the last couple months rushes out of him, leaving him pliant and grateful. Always grateful.

“You made it,” Liam murmurs between kisses. “Good boy.”

Two words and Zayn is there. His knees bend without his permission, dropping him on the carpeted entryway in front of Liam. The outline of Liam’s dick through his sweats is tempting, but Zayn knows better than to just go for it. Instead he looks up and waits, shaking with how much he wants.

Liam’s gaze is fond. He reaches down and cups Zayn’s jaw, pressing a thick thumb to his lower lip. “Already, baby? You’ve been wound up for too long. I’m sorry.”

In between, multiple time zones away, Zayn pretends. He imagines the press of Liam’s hands holding his wrists down and Liam’s voice like velvet in his ear. It’s never the same, but it keeps him sane. He’s never told Liam about it. This is supposed to be a safe space to explore their predilections with someone who has just as much to lose if it ever came to light. It’s for fun. It’s not supposed to be everything.

Anxious to get this show on the road so he can stop thinking entirely, Zayn draws Liam’s thumb into his mouth and sucks slowly. He traces the whorls with his tongue and savors the slight hint of salt bursting across his taste buds.

“Did I tell you to do that?” Liam asks with an arched brow.

Zayn whimpers and draws back, mouth watering and empty. “No, sir.”

“It’s okay, sweetheart.” Liam smiles gently. “I forgive you. It’s been a while. Hands behind your back and keep them there.”

Zayn widens his stance and clasps his wrists behind his back, already feeling the pull between his shoulders. His muscles are out of practice. He’s going to feel everything for days and he can’t wait.

“You’re so good,” Liam praises, slowly drawing the waistband of his sweats down over his erection to sit around his thighs. He fists himself a couple times, watching the desperation play across Zayn’s face.

Zayn’s mouth drops open in anticipation. He doesn’t have to wait long. Liam slides the tip through his lips and Zayn moans deeply. He’s missed this so much. Liam’s dick is perfect and he wants to worship it, wants it so deep he’s choking on the length, but he’ll take what he’s given and savor it. His eyes drop closed in ecstasy and Liam pulls back, drawing an unhappy whine from Zayn.

“Eyes open, baby. I need to see you, need your pretty eyes on me.”

Zayn huffs in irritation at himself. He knows that. He knows the rules.

“Shh,” Liam hushes, “we haven’t even started.”

Zayn nods. Liam’s being generous, but if Zayn pushes the boundaries much more he probably won’t be allowed to come later. The very thought makes him want to weep. He’s been jacking off alone for way too long and it doesn’t come close to what Liam can do to him.

Liam slides back into Zayn’s mouth, a little deeper this time, head pressing thick against the soft palate. Zayn resists the urge to shove forward, to bury his nose in the neatly trimmed hair at Liam’s groin. Instead he sucks gently, tongue playing over the prominent vein that throbs at his attentions, never taking his eyes off Liam.

“Look at you,” Liam says softly. “So beautiful. Do you want more, love?”

It’s a ridiculous question. Zayn always wants more, wants anything Liam will give him. He hums enthusiastically. Liam flashes him a filthy grin and slides the rest of the way, impossibly thick down Zayn’s throat and heavy on his tongue. The lack of air makes tears prick the corners of his eyes.

Liam reaches down to twine his fingers in Zayn’s hair, tight enough to hurt just right. He pulls Zayn back far enough to catch his breath before pushing him forward again. He sets up a rhythm that feels precise as a metronome. Zayn’s vision blurs and he loses himself in Liam’s hands, Liam’s heated gaze the only thing keeping him from falling apart at the seams.

“Come when I do,” Liam orders huskily. “Can you do that for me, baby?”

Yes, Zayn can do that. Zayn could probably come from Liam looking at him the right way. He’s been on edge ever since he got the text and is wishing he’d changed into something more comfortable than his jeans. He can tell Liam is close, rhythm getting slightly less steady, grip getting just a bit tighter. His own need unravels him, hips shifting restlessly against the press of denim and cotton.

Liam comes hard down Zayn’s throat and sets off a cascading reaction in Zayn. It’s so hard to keep his eyes open, but Liam’s lust blown gaze has him arrested. He calls Zayn beautiful, but Liam is heartbreakingly gorgeous like this with his flushed cheeks and chest, his soft brown eyes mostly pupil.

Zayn’s throat feels pleasantly raw when Liam retreats. He stays in position while Liam disappears into the kitchen. His shoulders burn and he sinks into it. Liam returns with a glass of water and a straw. He kneels next to Zayn and holds it up for him to drink.

“Thank you,” Zayn rasps, drinking deeply.

Liam runs a gentle finger down Zayn’s neck. “Such a good boy,” Liam murmurs. “I always feel guilty wrecking your voice, but you’re so good.”

Zayn arches into the touch. As always, Liam’s praise soothes something deep within him, something dark and raging that needs this to settle.

“You can relax,” Liam informs him, rubbing his shoulders lightly.

“Thank you,” Zayn repeats.

Liam gathers him against his broad chest and stands up. He helps Zayn toward the bedroom and onto the edge of the giant mattress. Zayn’s shirt gets tugged over his head and placed on a chair. Liam traces the latest tattoo with a curious finger.

“I saw pictures online, but this is sick,” dom Liam slips and lets regular Liam through and Zayn finds it hopelessly endearing.

He grins up at Liam. “Are we done already?”

Liam’s eyes narrow. “Not even close and you know it.”

“Was hoping,” Zayn says, too breathless for flippancy. He drops back onto the mattress. “What else did you see while you were stalking me online?”

He doubts Liam was doing anything of the sort. That’s really more a thing Zayn does, but he’s given up trying to stop. Even a staged pap shot is better than nothing. He simply can’t go weeks at a time without a glimpse of Liam.

Liam looms over him, clever fingers divesting Zayn of his jeans. “Saw that photo shoot you did. Looked like a model, all broody and lovely. Wanted to bend you over that table and make you scream.”

Zayn shivers. “Yes,” he grates.

“Saw that one with your girlfriend, too,” Liam whispers darkly against the curve of Zayn’s ear. “That one made me want to fuck you in front of her, show her what I do to you, make her hear what you sound like with my dick up your arse.”

She’s not his real girlfriend and Liam knows it, but it doesn’t matter right now. They’re back in the game and this is designed solely to make Zayn crazy. Liam is propped up over him, close enough to feel the heat of his body but not touching an inch of Zayn’s skin.

“Please,” Zayn whimpers.

“Please what, pretty?” Liam drawls.

“Please touch me,” he begs. “I missed you.”

It slides out of his mouth before he can stop it. Liam won’t hold it against him. One of their rules is that nothing said within the confines of a scene means anything outside of it. Zayn tries not to take advantage of that. He can’t. Otherwise he’d be offering up all of his secrets under the guise of playing a scene and the thought makes him ill.  

Liam smiles slow and sweet. “Missed you too, baby. No one else is as good as you.”

Jealousy churns in Zayn’s chest and he tamps it down viciously. Liam is not his and if he can’t get his emotions in check he’s going to ruin everything and then where will he be? Tense and miserable and at loose ends like he was before Liam wandered into his studio a year and a half ago.

Liam slowly lowers his body onto Zayn’s, warm skin sliding luxuriously against him. He sinks his teeth into the junction of Zayn’s neck and shoulder, drawing a soft moan from Zayn’s lips. This is everything he wants forever and he’ll fight himself to keep it.

“Want to taste you, sweetheart,” Liam rasps against his neck, rolling them over so Zayn is on top. “Come up here.”

Zayn lets Liam maneuver him until he’s hovering over Liam’s mouth, hands braced against the wall. Liam smirks up at him and leans up to lick a hot stripe from his balls to his ass. Zayn shudders, dick starting to firm back up.

“Don’t come,” Liam orders before pulling him down and taking him apart piece by piece.

All Zayn can do is moan and try not to writhe. Liam’s tongue feels gorgeous, sleek and hot and insistent. He loses track of time, The world is reduced to Liam’s mouth against him, in him. Liam’s hands move to spread him further and Zayn cries out, babbling incoherently. He wants more, needs Liam deeper and finally Liam slides a finger alongside his tongue. Zayn wants badly to push against it but he hasn’t been told he can, can’t pursue his own pleasure. He’s turned himself over to Liam’s capable hands.

One finger becomes two, becomes three and four when the lube gets involved. Zayn is shaking, micro muscle twitches, keeping himself in place and not pushing back into the pressure the way he wants. It’s a slow, sweet torture that drives thoughts of everything else from his head. It’s exactly what he needs.

Liam wriggles out from under him and presses a steadying hand between Zayn’s shoulder blades. “Look at you,” he murmurs, dropping kisses down Zayn’s spine, sweet like warmed honey. “You’re perfect.”

Behind him, Zayn can hear Liam putting on a condom. He feels like need wrapped in a thin layer of overheated flesh, quivering and desperate. Liam doesn’t give him time to adjust, shoves home in one smooth thrust, punching a cry from Zayn’s throat and leaving him scrabbling against the plaster.

Liam’s hands come up to press his wrists firmly down. “Stay,” he growls.

Zayn pushes his fingertips against the wall so hard they turn white and waits. Liam sets a brutal pace, leaving no room for anything but physical sensation overwhelming him. His hands burn into Zayn’s hips and every thrust pulls a helpless moan from his abused vocal chords.

Liam’s voice has dipped into a deep rasp, showering praise in sweet words that Zayn’s brain can’t interpret. All the same, the tone drenches him in pleasure, spirals him closer to orgasm. Liam’s words feel like a physical caress.

“Come when you want, baby,” Liam says.

It’s a gift, a testament to how long it’s been for both of them. Next time Liam will most likely require him to hold back, to shove at the edges of his self control, but not this time. Zayn is unbearably grateful to him, is probably babbling incoherently about it. He allows the heat to overwhelm him, to incrementally shove him higher until he’s coming hard against the wall. Liam is right behind him, shoving one last time with a deep groan.

The world is soft focus when Liam pulls out and arranges Zayn gently against the pillows. He tilts Zayn’s head up to sip at a water bottle and soothes Zayn’s trembling limbs with firm, smooth caresses. Slowly things become clearer, reality putting itself back together piece by piece.

“Hey there,” Liam greets with a grin, the kind that makes him look ten years younger and sweeter.

“Hey,” Zayn croaks. He feels heavy, weighed down after floating for so long.

Liam presses a soft kiss to Zayn’s bruised lips. “Thank you.”

He always does this, thanks Zayn like he’s done him a favor or something, like Zayn isn’t the one reaping all the benefits. Zayn’s lips twist in an emotion he can’t quite name and something dark and complicated twists in his gut. He chooses not to explore it. Probably ever.

“You’re welcome,” he replies.

“You want a shower?” Liam asks, bringing Zayn’s fingers up to his lips and kissing the tip of each one individually.

“Later.” Zayn wants to keep Liam on his skin for as long as he can.

“You good to stand?”

Zayn flexes his legs experimentally. “Maybe?”

Liam laughs, his eyes fucking sparkling. “Yeah, me too. In a bit you wanna see what I’ve been working on? I can order in.”

Zayn shouldn’t. He should set up some boundaries, but part of his problem is that he can’t help but consider Liam a friend. Their edges slot together so perfectly in and out of bed, like a puzzle piece he didn’t even know he was missing until Liam showed up with his boyish smile and warm, safe hands. It’s got him ten kinds of fucked up.

“Yeah, alright.”
