Humorous thought for you all…
When you lose an eye, your depth perception is significantly affected. (For those unfamiliar, depth perception is the ability to tell about how far away something is.) Which means, after losing his eye, there was probably a period of time where Aekku kept running into things.
Make of that what you will.

More dramatic scenes from Operation: White Snow Continues, and some analysis of Geomeunjogjebi.
Geumsaegi discovers that Juldarami has been kidnapped, and proceeds to, possibly implied via the title card, jump out the window.
He then runs around screaming in the woods, punching trees, wondering how he and the Flower Hill plans could go on without Juldarami.
Never mind the fact that he could have been the next target, and should have considered that, given his position. He went out into the woods alone, and could have been captured as well for that mistake, which could make for an interesting episode AU if he has to work from that angle.
It is actually General Commander Jogjebi who actually does something useful first. He immediately freaks out, because the soldier he sent out to investigate a possible traitor ring came back injured, and then was abducted. He understands the greater connotations of a group of individuals kidnapping someone who might have the information on who is a threat to the Weasel Unit. With the Regimental Commander missing, who can he trust if he goes outside?
If anything, traitors are more dangerous than scouts from Flower Hill, especially since they have a more vested interest in killing him, whereas Flower Hill could use him as a hostage. Naturally, Commander Jogjebi immediately has his soldiers start searching the base.
Which is something Geumsaegi should have done at the start, instead of running around in the snow.
Meanwhile, the concept of Geomeunjogjebi is interesting in general.
This weasel appears as Aekku’s replacement in The Pact, throwing himself into the role with enthusiasm. He appears in Operation: Snow White Continues, having performed an autopsy on his own brother, and discovered that the bullets that killed him were of Weasel Unit make. Therefore, it was obvious to him that Juldarami had killed his brother, instead of the Rabbits.
Clearly, he wants revenge. But how did he know Juldarami was a scout? Apparently, he was not part of The Pact or the Rebels of Mt. Rock beforehand (he did have the secret insignia, though, so at least he was not playing a large part). There are two possibilities.
One, he was part of the rebels all along, and it had already be determined that he was to be Aekku’s backup. He was just not seen, since as a doctor he had to work in a specific area, and could not join the rest of the rebels immediately. This does not explain why he would know Juldarami was a scout, considering Aekku only figured it out in Rabbit Village.
If anything, Geomeunjogjebi would have known that Geumsaegi was a scout, since thanks to Mulmangcho they already had that information.
It would have been prudent to grab Geumsaegi as well, but revenge on Juldarami apparently took priority.
The second possibility is that Aekku was suspicious of Commander Jogjebi and Juldarami, wondering if there was a plot to have him killed in Rabbit Village, and decided to leave all his information behind for his brother to find, in a hidden location only the two of them would know about. Perhaps a dossier on everything The Pact was doing, so Geomeunjogjebi could pick up where he left off.
Problem with this is, while Aekku should have known about Geumsaegi being a Flower Hill Scout, he did not figure out about Juldarami until Rabbit Village, which means that bit of information should not have been in any left behind notes.
Unless, of course, Aekku make some sort of phone call from the hotel room, informing his brother on where to find the notes, and the possibility that the Regional Commander was a Flower Hill scout.
Obviously he just assumes Commander Jogjebi is compromised at this point, so Aekku could not make a phone call to the base and tell Jogjebi that the plan was in Jeopardy.
Which makes calling Geomeunjogjebi a higher possibility. Naturally, the phones would be wiretapped, but Aekku, as the Scout Commander, might have the knowledge on how to remove the wiretap, or at least speak in a friendly and specific manner that his brother would recognize as a message that the Rabbit listeners would not understand.
Since Geumsaegi ran off into the forest alone, Geomeunjogjebi, as a doctor, could have easily followed and grabbed him with some chloroform or other sleeping drug, moved him, and then claimed that he lost Geumsaegi when that one tree fell down. And then they would have two hostages in order to get close to General Commander Jogjebi. But, apparently, revenge may have taken priority at that point.
Also, Juldarami was injured, and Geumsaegi had proven himself a formidable opponent in fighting weasels, let alone two grieving mice.

sahtoon fanfiction concept. I. Think
A Very Normal Day
Agent 3, Mi-Rae, has to go from Inkopolis to the territory of Black Rock, as they are currently working on a weapon with the Octarians. Cap'n Cuttlefish is somehow aware of it, deciding to alert them.
As Mi-Rae progresses through the mountain, they're in an Octarian disguise. (bro thinks they're geumsaegi 💀)
Interacting with Mulmangcho and Scout Commander Aekku has to get them to reveal their relationship (which is publicly kept a secret), unaware of Mi-Rae's intentions.
(special thanks to @weaselfactoryex for ideas lmao)

Aekku, texting: I'm moving and found a black machete under my bed. Is this yours?
Juldarami: Who is this?
Aekku: Scout Commander Aekku
Juldarami: Bro I ain't even talked to you in 6 years and this is how you get in touch???
Aekku: Well you're the only person I can think of that might leave a machete at my house.
Juldarami: Wait is it a Ka-bar?
Aekku: Hold on I’ll look.
Aekku: Yes.
Juldarami: Okay yeah that’s mine.
Juldarami: How have you not looked under the bed in 6 years??
Aekku: I feel like thats really not the most important question here

Febuwhump Day One: Rope Burn
This is gonna chafe.
It felt like a silly thing to worry about, sitting in the back of a transport vehicle, rough rope biting into his wrists, waiting to be taken to some spot by the enemy soldiers of Flower Hill. But the other things that could have been occupying Aekku’s mind were so, so much more terrifying. And he could not be terrified right now. He had to get out, somehow. He could die in a lot of places, but he’d be damned if it was on Flower Hill’s execution block.
Okay, Aekku. Keep calm. Focus. There has to be some way out of here. There has to be. He looked towards the back of the transport vehicle. Smashing his way out through there was damn near impossible. They’d had the bright idea of using double doors, both locked. Perhaps if he climbed through too the ceiling? He could see a faint light of an emergency exit, that could potentially work. Though he’d need his hands free for that option.
He turned his attention to his wrists, tied together by a rough, thick rope. The kind that was difficult to cut through, even with a weasels sharp claws. Difficult, but not impossible. He shifted his wrists as much as he could in his restraints, trying to get his paw in just the right spot. He winced a little, hissing in pain at the friction. But he could power through and ignore it. Who knew how much time he had left before they got to wherever it was? He needed to work fast. If he could get his paw just a few more centimeters…
That plan slammed to a halt around the same time as his transport vehicle did, and incidentally slammed his left shoulder into the side. He would have screamed if it weren’t for the gag.
“Prisoner.” The door had opened, and a group of hedgehogs stood at the door. Rifles in paw. “Come forward.”
Like he had any fucking choice. Aekku scowled, but obliged. Held held high. Even if he couldn’t escape, he wasn’t about to give the bastards the pleasure of seeing him break down. If he was going out, he’d do so with his head held high.
The tip of the bayonet pushed him forward. He looked ahead, forcing himself to breathe. To be calm. To not worry about what happened next. It didn’t matter. Maybe he’d lived long enough. Maybe he could get his bucket list done in another life. Maybe he’d be born away from this hell…
“Halt.”
Aekku stopped. In front of him was not some kind of gallows or a brick wall like he was expecting. It was a prison cell. They were…at a prison? Or some kind of containment facility. But why would they take put him in a cell? Why prolong his execution?
Unless…
No.
The guards from behind him pushed him forward, and he stumbled onto the ground. Someone cut the ropes that held his wrists, and they closed the door behind him. Aekku ripped off the gag they had tied on him, running up to the door and shaking the bars.
“I’m not giving you bastards anything! You hear me?! Not a damn thing!” He shook once more for emphasis. “You can do whatever the hell you want! I’m not going to tell you anything! You may as well kill me now!”
One of the hedgehogs stopped, then turned, glaring at Aekku darkly. “Stronger soldiers than you have tried and failed to keep that promise. I suggest you don’t hold onto your fool-hearted pride if you wish to receive the honor of a quick and painless death.” And with that he left.
Aekku glanced at his wrists. The skin had definitely been irritated. He could already feel the pain setting in, as the adrenaline faded. As he realized what was going to happen. Of fucking course. He was the Scout Commander after all. Why simply kill him when he wad much more valuable alive? Much more valuable as a source of information?
You can’t interrogate a dead weasel.
There were rope burns on his wrist. It hurt. And he had no doubt in his mind that after a few weeks, that pain would seem like a dream compared to what was to come.

(Based on the notes in the original post)
I think it is more of I have a tendency to suddenly sit up and think of theories or a specific character and wonder about their motives, and then try to fit them with logic from both the show's canon with a deep dive, and also real life.
I mean, if The Pact was already planning to overthrow General Commander Jogjebi in a coup (and he suspected traitors forming coups as soon as Operation: Mole failed), then it makes sense to target the Guard Commander.
It is established in the Wolfspider Cave incident, that Geumsaegi is supposed to be one of the few in the Weasel Unit who knows certain codes for secret areas. Obviously, if you are forming a coup, you would want someone in that type of position (and other higher positions) to work for you, since they would be useful after the coup.
Which means having to find some sort of blackmail to use against him, if he can't be talked into it immediately. So the camera bugging finding out about Geumsaegi being a scout could have been just a stroke of luck for The Pact, especially since The Search Commander figured that he could still work with Geumsaegi being a scout for Flower Hill.
Of course, there was the issue of the scouts appearing in the early episodes. Jogjebi assumed Juldarami was dead when he dove into the water, but other weasels like Aekku, who should know how scouts work since he was the Scout Commander, would know that scouts often had backup, and if they did not find a body then it was likely he was alive and passing on information.
Which would suggest, of course, that there were Flower Hill scouts still in the Weasel Unit, and with the chaos of Operation: Mole, and the fact that they did in fact have field mice infiltrate Flower Hill disguised as squirrels, means it was entirely possible for Flower Hill to infiltrate in return by sending squirrels disguised as their field mice.
Which, to a Scout Commander, would make any field mouse that suddenly appeared and took the role of Guard Commander very suspicious. And since Aekku and Mulmangcho appeared to be close, they would have discussed this before bugging the camera, so Mulmangcho may have already suspected some things. That, or he knew the Guard Commander was a target they have have to get rid of or force to join.
Either way, I'll probably be exploring these ideas more in depth in the current fanfic, since it is an interesting plot to follow. Especially since either the records of a lot of mice were destroyed in Operation: Mole, so they aren't worried about it, OR Geumsaegi and Juldarami took the identities of the field mice (or any other mouse) they killed, and we don't know if those mice had families or anyone back home who could recognize them.
#like how closely does one have to look for their stories to fall apart?#although I'm sure they have backstories they can use with 'families' that can attest for them#a group scout groups needs 'assets' after all from the target country#squirrel and hedgehog#somewhat solved the problem with mine in the mice being forced to live in impoverished villages#that are occasionally all taken for the army by the weasels#which makes it hard for the weasel unit to investigate especially if he is around#they would need him out of the way for a bit to investigate...#sah#SaH

One small thing I recently thought of…
I think Commander Jogjebi
And Aekku
Are somehow related.
Not in the sense that I think they’re like father/son or brothers. Depending on if they’re the same age or if Jogjebi is a generation older, I think they’re either first cousins or Aekku is Jogjebi’s nephew or something.
I have exactly one reason for this.
Jogjebi is aware that Aekku started a coup…and he doesn’t immediately execute him for it.
Like Jogjebi orders an execution because someone implies he might not have the correct information, I think literal fucking treason should have gotten Aekku immediately executed. And the only reason I could think of for why he wouldn’t be is that this would be detrimental to Jogjebi in some way. Like sparking some serious family drama.
#squirrel and hedgehog#headcanon#aekku#scout commander aekku#commander jogjebi#granted this doesn’t explain why aekku is down for familialcide#but like#can you imagine#what the jogjebi family reunion must be like?

Character headcanon time! First one up is Scout Commander Aekku, because I said so. Some headcanons about this character killed way too soon imho.
His eye was definitely lost due to a traumatic injury. My personal best guess is that he was a war prisoner at some point and interrogations got ugly.
Definitely bi. Probably not very experienced with romance, but can and will charm any gender he pleases.
He probably does have a picture of his brother Geomeun among his personal affects, but hides it so he isn’t perceived as “soft”.
Was probably a field agent at some point.
One reason he trusts Mulmangcho is that he knows the mouse does good work, he wouldn’t have promoted him otherwise.
Also, he knows how frustrating it is to have all the evidence but the higher ups just don’t believe you, and he would never put someone else in that position if he could help it.
He is pissed at Flower Hill mostly because of their holier-than-thou attitude. Like yeah, his side’s not perfect, but at least they’re not impaling people.
He definitely likes to occasionally tape the pictures of certain people he’s pissed at to his punching bag.
He secretly does feel guilty as fuck for Mulsajo’s death, and cursed himself for sending him off with grenades.
And, finally, his deepest desire at the end of the day is to be taken care of, and he sincerely doubts that’s ever going to happen.
Let me know if you have any headcanons for him!

Somehow I get the distinct feeling said scout might be Geomeunjogjebi. It would make sense. He’s successfully disguised himself as an otter before, and he’s an actual doctor. So if he had to treat patients to maintain the ruse, he could do that. And his elder brother is Scout Commander. Aekku would be able to look at the dead/targeted field medic, look at his younger brother, and go “I need you to do me a favor.”
If there was a child involved, I like to imagine that at first Geomeun would be extremely upset about this. “Do I have to look after the snot nosed brat?!”
“Well, we can’t really afford to have your cover blown…”
“I fucking hate you, hyeong.”
Over time, he does start to form a genuine attachment to said child. Especially if it turns out he can manipulate the young one into being his little minion.
“Little one, go fetch the sleepy gas, Uncle Otter needs it to distract someone.”
“Kay!”
Okay so I was remembering the ep where Mulmangcho disguised himself as an old mouse to sneak into Flower Hill and NOW I’m thinking of a whole thing where Mulmangcho actually tries to do uncover work (the type Geumsaegi does) in Flower Hill
They’re both working against each other and Mul has to hide his identity whilst trying to secretly take down Flower Hill, bonus if he actually gets to know Geum and work alongside him
Also Imagine if Mul is also trying to get Geum to realize how fucked Flower Hill and how hes being brainwashed whilst also trying not to blow his cover
OH AND GEUM HAVING TO BE THE ONE TO PULL HIS FUR OUT TRYING TO CONVINCE EVERYONE MUL IS THE SPY

Squirrel and Hedgehog polls
Ok!
So, I will be starting on the drafts for the shipping polls. Might take a few days, I will have to look up photos. Four Choices will be:
1.) Yes, I like this ship
2.) No, I do not like this ship
3.) I see them as Platonic
4.) I don't have any feelings for this ship/I have never thought about this/results
Some notes:
I have been watching on the official North Korean Youtube channel. In Operation: White Snow, the hedgehog scout is repeatedly referred to as Number 11, so I am assuming that he is a different character than the regular Scout Goseumdochi.
I am pretty sure we all agree that we do not ship Bamsaegi, Undochi, and S2 Mulori with the older characters (and I am assuming they are young adults in the show so it is ok to ship them together).
I have seen multiple people say that they do not see Flower Hill as monogamous, so liking one ship does not discount liking another. The first option in the poll could also include ideas of feeling like they may have had something in the past, but it is platonic now. I might make a multi ship poll later.
I cannot think of any ships involving Dr Dudeoji.
I also cannot think of any ships involving Uncle Gom, given how he thinks of the residents of Flower Hill as too small and weak.
Here is a rough draft I quickly made of the current list of ships I could think of, that will be in the polls. Please feel free to message me for any others.
•Geumsaegi and Scout Goseumdochi
•Geumsaegi and Aekku
•Geumsaegi and General Commander
•Geumsaegi and Mulmangcho
•Geumsaegi and Juldarami
•Geumsaegi and that one really competent mouse from A Battle at Mt. Rock
•Geumsaegi and Commander Seungnyangi
•Commander Seungnyangi and Assistant Jogjebi
•Assistant Jogjebi and Geumsaegi
•Officer Yeou and Geumsaegi
•Officer Yeou and Commander Seungnyangi
•Geumsaegi and the squirrel that comes to his window in ep 1
•Hedgehog number 11 and rabbit guide/scout
•Hedgehog number 11 and hedgehog waitress
•Hedgehog waitress and mouse waitress
•Juldarami and Akkeu
•Juldarami and Murori
•Mulmangcho and Akkeu
•General commander and Geomeunjogjebi
• General Commander and Akkeu
• General Commander and the mouse pilot from Searching for the Jewel Necklace
•Officer Yeou and Assistant Jogjebi
•S2 Murori and Bamsaegi
•S2 Murori and Undochi
•Bamsaegi and Undochi
•Commander Darami and Commander Goseumdochi
•Commander Goseumdochi and Commander Seungnyangi
•Some variation of the wolf interrogators in the dungeon, assuming they are not brothers
•I’m assuming Thief and Long Legs are related, so they won't be included
•A variation of individuals in the pact I need to look up again because I know some of them are related.
#squirrel and hedgehog#worked on this as well as a bit of the next chapter of Lily Bell in the Thorn Thicket#does this contain a secondary excuse to scour the web for photos?#perhaps#sitting upright has been really hard for a few days so I just didn't do anything#had to babysit a gaggle of toddlers who go to preschool over Christmas#it was nice to see them but who knows what I caught#thought I might have to go back to the hospital for a bit there

OC: Octako Riley
NOTE: The lore takes place in my version of Squirrel and Hedgehog, mostly involving the Mt. Rock rebels.
Octako 'Ebiporo' Razilee. Mostly called Riley, they're a sergeant on the territory of Mt. Rock. 25 and a half years old.
Likely one of the first human-like persons to ever be in the renegade.
# Relationships
To Riley, Mangko is a pretty trustworthy Commander to them. Not necessarily close friends, but they're defintely friends with him for sure. His laugh annoys Riley a little, but they're mostly fine with it.
Mulmangcho.. Riley seems to like him, having even once went on a spy mission on Flower Hill, despite Riley themselves being a sergeant and their task is to supervise the troops. And yes actually, Riley tries their best to supervise Mulmangcho's arrest party properly.
Scout Commander Aekku is a major figure of the rocky mountain's rebellion. He and Riley are on decent terms, but he seems to prefer and favor Mulmangcho over everyone.
Kukori ;;;;; Riley's younger semi-sister with decent treatment.
# Abilities
Riley has a wide knowledge of combat, especially unarmed. They mostly wield 2 swords, but sometimes has to resort to guns and other such lethal force.
Let's say, they can and will throw a good punch towards whoever's annoying them and can get defensive. They're not admired by the entire Mt. Rock rebellion, knowing there's more skilled people than them. Riley also knows a bit of parkour as well.
If you're going to make a headcanon about Riley on your blog, make sure to tag it with #sgt octako, #octako riley and #riley octako .

Next chapter of The Rod That Blocks the Lightning should be ready in about two weeks or so. Unless I turn it into two chapters, depending on how it goes.
Also, after the first set of Squirrel and Hedgehog shipping polls, multiple people asked me to make another series of polls involving multi ships, and I promised that I would.
Under the cut is an incomplete list of multi ships I wrote down. I am not as thorough in this one because there are a lot of characters, and I am not sure how many people would would even ship characters who have never met in canon.
Please feel free to add more in the replies or the notes! I'll work on this once I get the next chapter or two up.
•I think most of us still see Uncle Gom as Ace at this point
•Commander Seungnyangi, Dr. Huinjogjebi, Vixen
•Commander Seungnyangi, Assistant Jogjebi, Vixen
•Commander Seungnyangi, Dr. Huinjogjebi, Commander Jogjebi
•Mangko, Aekku, S1 Chief of Staff (S1 Chief of staff knows Geumsaegi is a scout, but the S2 one does not react on that, so I assume they are different characters)
•Geumsaegi, Assistant Jogjebi, Vixen
•Geumsaegi, Commander Jogjebi, Dr. Huinjogjebi
•Geumsaegi, Juldarami, Scout Gosemdochi, Mulori
•Geumsaegi, Juldarami, Scout Gosemdochi
•Juldarami, Mulori, Geumsaegi
•Commander Gosemdochi, Commander Darami, Commander Mulori
•The wolf interrogators (assuming they are not brothers, since Mulmangcho is being interrogated by a similar group)
•Bamsaegi, S2 Mulori, Undochi (only with each other, since while they are logically adults, they are still younger than everyone else)
•Mulmangcho, Juldarami, Geumsaegi
•The mouse and Weasels from episode 10, A battle at Mount Rock
•S1 Mulori, Hedgehog Waitress, Rabbit guide
•Rabbit Guide, hedgehog waitress, Scout leader Gosemdochi/Number 11
•Auxiliary scout hedgehog (episode 24), Auxiliary Mulori (episode 24), Juldarami
•Dr. Dudeoji, Dr. Huinjogjebi, Geomeunjogjebi (the science group)
•Field mice 2, 6, and 8
•Field mouse 6 with Tokgasi members
•Search Commander, Commander Jogjebi, Special Corps Commander (these three seem very close in the first few episodes)
•Search Commander, Special Corps Commander, Aekku
•Commander Jogjebi, Geumsaegi, Juldarami
•Aekku, Juldarami, Mulmangcho
Please see the previous post for the rules

Ok, so this is my bad for not specifying which Search Commander, since I forgot there were two in S1 when I made the lists. There's the one in the early episodes that is killed, and there is the one who is the leader of the rebels in Wolfspider Cave. The latter does not even have a wikia page like the former does.
I don't ship this group as a polycule. The Search Commander and Special Corps Commander are very loyal to Commander Jogjebi, and investigate for Flower Hill scouts. Aekku is a traitor.
At the same time, I don't ship the Search Commander and the Special Corps Commander. The former is apparently one of the best soldiers in the Weasel Unit, and has many of the privileges Geumsaegi has for being close to Commander Jogjebi. The Special Corps Commander is just very loyal.
I could be tempted to ship the newer Search Commander with Aekku, though, given their leadership abilities. I've just never thought about it before.
Heading back to the command tower this week!
Search Commander, Special Corps Commander, and Aekku

Yeah, I just thought the combination of the title card, Geumsaegi finding the empty room, and then suddenly having him running in the woods was kind of funny enough to make a 'jumped out the window' suggestion.
Juldarami had just gotten out of surgery, and probably should not have been left alone for very long while coming out of anesthesia, so the kidnapping should have happened recently. If Geumsaegi jumped out the window right then, he would have had a better chance of finding the kidnappers than if he took the long way around.
I really just want to know what went down in that hospital room. Was he actually awake, which is why he was not being watched as closely, and actively tried to fight Mulmangcho and Oegwipali off? Or did the mice trash the room themselves as a way to send the message 'we took your man' to get Jogjebi's attention, and this took place between rounds?
I do think Geomeunjogjebi would have helped Mulmangcho and Oegwipali kidnap Juldarami by giving them an opportunity to do so if they had asked. He gave them the safe-house, but he does not exactly seem too upset that they went out and caused trouble by kidnapping Juldarami, and even assists by trapping Geumsaegi in the storeroom.
Apparently there was an autopsy involved, and Geomeunjogjebi was supposed to be there.
Aekku was skilled for his position, and was technically right about the scouts and his suspicions. As his brother, he might have been just as skilled as a doctor as Aekku was at Scout Commander.
Once he deserts and joins the rebellion, he does not have time to practice medicine since he is essentially helping to run the rebellion.
Although, if you want to go the Geomeunjogjebi was a fake doctor route, he could have taken the credentials from the crow doctor that gets murdered (maybe? He is sprawled on the floor and is never mentioned again) around one of the Mt. Rock episodes that I cannot remember off the top of my head right now.
But it would be a good way to go about it! It is not like Commander Jogjebi would know every single doctor or surgeon, and he was apparently surprised to find out that Aekku and Geomeunjogjebi were related, so it is not like he has been keeping tabs on every single individual.
His strapping Commander Jogjebi down and saying that that was how psychosis was treated could also be an actual thing he was trained to do, or just a taunt.
We can ignore the cupping, since that is practiced as traditional Korean medicine.

There are a few things that stick out to me about Geomeunjogjebi’s story, but one thing in particular that sticks out is that he apparently performed his own brother’s autopsy. Which is…insane to me. During an investigation, anyone with connections to the victim is usually not allowed to participate. This is because it’s a conflict of interest. You can’t really be objective if your loved one was the one who got hurt. And, not to put too fine a point on it, but it’s not as though the Weasel Army has no other doctors that could have performed the autopsy.
Maybe the Weasel Army doesn’t have such a rule in place? Seems strange, unless they figure an autopsy is an autopsy and if Geomeun isn’t too traumatized seeing his brother’s body on the operating table, he’d have no reason to lie about the results.
Adding onto that, if there was an autopsy performed, then there must have also been a report written up. After all, autopsies are usually only performed if the death has to be investigated. They likely had to verify Juldarami’s tale that he’d died in a shootout involving either a unit of Flower Hill or the Rabbit Village police. We know that’s what he claimed, too, it’s why he does this.
So literally all Geomeunjogjebi has to do is write the truth in his autopsy report. “Bullets from Weasel Unit guns found in victim’s chest cavity.” Not only is that relatively straightforward, but seeing as Juldarami was the only other member of the Weasel Unit there who would have had a gun issued by them, he would have immediately been the prime suspect in his murder. Then all Geomeunjogjebi would have to do is let the investigation run its course. But as far as we can tell, that didn’t happen.
So why not?
Well, one possibility is that this was in fact written out and then General Commander Jogjebi shut the investigation down as soon Juldarami was implicated. After all, we know he sent Juldarami out to keep an eye on Aekku, and Jul was pretty much blanket permission to shoot if anything off occurred while at the festival. Perhaps he just figured that Juldarami found something out about Aekku and he needed to die, so made up some story to cover it up. And of course, Jogjebi had every reason to help him out.
Second possibility ties back into Aekku contacting his brother beforehand. After all, we know he knew about the arrangement, having overheard the whole thing.
If he did contact his brother, either before or after figuring out that Juldarami was a scout, it seems strange that he would leave this detail out. So perhaps Geomeunjogjebi figured his brother’s death wasn’t going to be properly investigated and he had to take matters into his own hands.
