Cont. from @crimsxnlxveâ || Joaquin & Scott (x)Â
Scott felt a little awkward when Joaquin began to heap praise on him, ducking his head slightly as he felt his cheeks flushing a little. âI dunno, I gotta say that I find I give my best performances when Iâve got great co-stars to act opposite. Youâre pretty damn good.â Carefully, Scott reached out and linked his fingers with the otherâs, smiling softly at him. âWell, I promise you, that stuff on the film couldnât be further from how I actually feel.â

Closed starter for @lilbie || Scott and Theo
Scott was tired to say the least, having worked twelve hour days for the last four in a row while they hammered through the final scenes to get the movie finished. But now, it didn't matter how exhausted he was because he knew that he would get to spend some time with Theo. They had only really been a thing for a short period of time so far, but something about the other young man made him feel warm and happy. So he waited inside the Sydney cafe, watching the door each time it opened with the hopes that it would be him.

name: Dawn Collins-Hardin
what: Human
age: 31
birthday: August 13
occupation: Hunter
location: Nomadic
faceclaim: Mia Tomlinson
status: Single Verse
relationship: Ronan
parents: Georgia and Scott Collins-Hardin
siblings: Nadia and Carver
kids: Ria (adopted)
The eldest of Georgiaâs children, the one with the most pressure laid on her, the one who hates the job. Dawn would leave if she could. Her heart has never been in it. She hates the torture and gore, hates the begging and pleading. The guilt of it all is nearly consuming.
She always thought Stone let himself get taken out because his heart had never been in it either but she doesnât have that force of will. She knows if she tries to walk away theyâll drag her back too. Itâs not a fun place to be in.
So she goes along with it, makes things as quick and painless as she can with too often apologizing for doing it at all. Her weapon of choice is a gun at close range so thereâs little room for error or extended pain.
It wasnât until she came across a young changeling girl that her resolve finally shattered. That child latched onto her like she was the only safety in the world and Dawn couldnât hurt her. So she called Peri, the only person in her family that had said before they hated the life and asked where she could go. Peri directed her towards Pennsylvania and Dawn took the kid and ran.
Running into Stone there had been unexpected, but not as shocking as finding out that he was a werewolf now and that Peri knew about it when she sent her there. She would have been content staying there as long as possible but Ev's family posed an issue so, after Ev and the triplets left, she followed suit, taking Ria and going a different route.
That was how she and Ronan came back into contact and she finally had the chance to explain to him why she had disappeared and introduce him to Ria.

Firsts were always a huge deal for Scott, even as he built his way up the ladder in the acting world. But this was something special. This wasnât another minor character or sidekick role, this was his first leading role in a major motion picture, with the screenplay of a spy framed and on the run being picked up by a production company. He wasnât sure how he got the role, but he was simply grateful he had done.Â
Arriving on set, suited up and ready for his first scenes, Scott was led over to a man standing alone and was advised that this was the screenwriter of this story, and his eyes widened slightly.Â
âScott Carver, itâs a pleasure to meet you. Gotta say, fantastic story.â

LA by Night Season 1 Guest PCs Ranked
Obviously, spoilers for Season 1 of LA by Night
The guests in LA by Night have been fascinating because unlike Critical Role where the guests are playing independent characters that the main cast happens to run into, overwhelmingly the guests here are largely playing NPCs with major plot purposes. I think I kind of like this way of doing it better. But LA by Night and Critical Role have very different narrative styles and this makes sense.
So, letâs talk about the guest characters! This gets long, so the whole thing below the cut.
In ascending order by love:
Diane (Kelly Lynne DâAngelo): Look, Diane is here for one purpose and one purpose only: for Chloe to have someone to talk to. Â She serves this purpose beautifully, but that doesnât mean sheâs interesting (although Jasperâs reactions to her and Juan are gold).
Strikes a Chord (Jason Charles Miller): Of course, Jason Charles Miller was going to be a werewolf. The man is probably an actual werewolf! That said, heâs in one of the weakest episodes of the season (saved only by excellent openings and closings) and Strikes a Chord ... doesnât do much. This is the guest PC that feels the most like a random new player wandering in instead of having a solid story purpose.
Ramona (Bex Taylor-Klaus): I like Ramona, but, as a guest PC, sheâs just there to provide a face for a quick interaction. *shrug*
Ib (Noura Ibraham): Iâll admit to liking Ib more as a background NPC, but I was intrigued by the different side of things that we got to see. We gained more insight into ghouls and Noura brought some (if not needed, then fascinating) emotion to the part. (Iâll also say that Victorâs reactions to Ibâs emotions gave some interesting insight into his own discomforts).
Carver (Taliesin Jaffe): A very interesting character and one I have assume weâll see more of. We start out thinking heâs a bad guy because he turned Annabelle--and those scenes are really painted as Annabelle confronting trauma in an intense way--but that turns out to be wrong: he turned her, but only to save her after she was killed by another vampire. Fun, but he seems more destined for future greatness.
Miranda (Satine Phoenix):Â Look, Miranda is largely a plot device, but ... sheâs getting extra points just for toying with Annabelle.
Victoria Ash (Jessica Chobot): Although I wasnât thrilled by Jessica Chobotâs performance, Victoria Ash is something else. She is a perfect counterpoint to the cast, showing us just how dismissive of humans a vampire can be. The slaughter she orders is ... intense.
Gregory Demetrios (Vince Caso): Look, I just like this guyâs bluster in the face of the complete failure that constitutes his life.
Chloe (Becca Scott): I mean, itâs not necessary her appearance thatâs so enticing, but the impact she has well out weighs the banality of her scene. The moment when she gets the note is heartbreaking and thereâs a real question left hanging in the air of whether things will just end with that note.
Ellenore (Marisha Ray): I knew Marisha showed up and, well, sheâs my favorite from Critical Role, so .... This was just so emotional and I loved the connection that was shown between El and Annabelle. But I also like the way that she put pressure on Annabelle to make a choice about her life by making it clear that she was willing to be turned.
Chaz Prince (Mark Meers): Well, holy shit. The second episode comes along and Mark Meers just slides in and starts chewing the scenery. Fantastic! Chaz is so wonderfully punchable, but also starts to throw some light on Nelli and introduces a nice thread that I hope they actually follow up on: namely, abusive relationships.
X (Xander Jeanneret): X is probably the funniest past of LA by Night. Heâs so perfectly played by Xander as a cracked mind, but he also feels comfortable and honest, which is probably why heâs one of the few vampires that Annabelle would ever listen to ... which makes his reality check to Annabelle in the epilogue all the more powerful. X isnât challenging Annabelle because he feels like he had a responsibility or because he feels like heâs delivery âa truth.â No, heâs telling her that they are monsters and that they have to accept that because he likes her.
Fiona (Ash Minnick): Look, X is the most entertaining, but Fiona? Fiona is just a beast of a vampire and there is great joy in seeing her constantly poking and looking down on Victor. She consistently out Ventrues Victor and it is delightful. Also, she is absolutely immoral and she presents a fantastic contrast to the regular cast who, for all their flaws, have tried to find at least the semblance of peaceful coexistence. For all her smarts, Fiona is a predator and she would end anyone who gets in her way and has. Itâs just a beautiful performance.

this is one of the nuttiest weeks in comics in awhile, what're you pulling and what are your thoughts?
Having missed Daredevil, Peter Cannon: Thunderbolt, and The Wild Storm for now, a situation hopefully to be rectified this weekend, and knowing there are profound spoilers ahead:
Superman: Leviathan Rising #1: SUPERMAN AND JIMMY OLSEN, OUR FAVORITE GOOD TIME PARTY BOYS. This was the embodiment of âinject it into my veinsâ comics, even with that disconnected, pointless Supergirl section, which still at least assured me that Iâm not missing out on anything in her book right now. Otherwise? Superman sucks at acting, because acting is lying! Lois giving Batman the business! 4-QQ&BE4J*O(@NX!
Heroes in Crisis #9: ThisâŚended about as well as it possibly could, I suppose, and I do actually mean that as a compliment, but that only matters so much. I probably actually did like more individual issues of this than I disliked, but the basic concept behind the mystery once it unfolds is a needlessly destructive one for the character in question, Kingâs dialogue quirks ran away with him, the pacing was shot, Mann showed his ass in some rough ways, and so much of it reads like King completing a mandate. There were moments of grace - the final page of confessionals has the funniest panel of Kingâs career - that mean Iâll absolutely reread this at some point, but on the whole, it can at last be set in stone that this was Tom Kingâs first and hopefully last major failure.
Detective Comics Annual #2: Havenât been getting Tomasiâs Detective, but the preview made it look like it was going to be his best effort in some time. It was, but not enough for me to be interested in the arc this is setting up for down the line.
Fantastic Four #10: I really thought Iâd drop this after the first tepid arc, but while Iâm ditching Iron Man, Slottâs been acquitting himself admirably here recently, and Paco Medinaâs art is always a treat.
Thor #13: Thereâs little in this issue that isnât rote and obvious, but that doesnât mean it isnât good as hell.
War of the Realms: War Scrolls #2: Thereâs a panel in the first part where Daredevilâs legs are hella weird, but the Strange story was nice and that Loki/Wiccan/Hulkling story thatâs been taking the internet by storm was indeed pretty nice.
The Magnificent Ms. Marvel #3: This doesnât have the spark that Ahmedâs work right now on Miles possesses - Iâm not even positive Iâll finish this first arc - but itâs a decently charming page-turner and I could see it ending up grabbing me down the line.
The Immortal Hulk #18: Itâs genuinely astonishing that this is still capable of freaking me the fuck out, but good goddamn.
Doomsday Clock #10: As I said on Twitter, this was the dopiest, most lowest-common-denominator fanboy-pandering shit in the world, and let me tell you: Iâm that lowest common denominator, babeyyyy. Is it good now? Far from it. But itâs becoming almost exactly the comic I feel like it probably should have been all along, and not even just because itâs basically 30 pages of big daddy Geoff petting my head and whispering âshh, shh, itâs okay, your favorite character is still the most important and always will be no matter how bad we fuck up, we promise Morrison Action still kinda matters, shhhhhhâ. Itâs to its weird credit that the issue that was definitely 100% conceived as âthe continuity dumpâ ends up the only one that says much of substance about anything, even if itâs just that Supermanâs important; the book should have been meta all along, and now itâs straight-up calling the main DCU the Metaverse in reference to how itâs always changing in reference to our own real world. And this definitely has the most moments of odd magic previous issues sporadically managed of classic, goofy and/or corny superhero moments taking on an almost totemic degree of weight and power in this bizarre context. Just have Manhattan in some way acknowledge how Superman fundamentally affected his own world too, and Iâll be able to rest easy that this lovely abomination lived up to his full potential in the context of being a dopey Geoff Johns comic.
(My unearned enthusiasm aside though: I donât think itâs really come up in Doomsday Clock criticism that Iâve seen, but it should probably be talked about that it shares big daddy Watchmenâs I *think* well-meaning but regardless unpleasant relationship with queerness. And Watchmenâs issues, while present, are illuminated by time: my impression was that by 80s cape comics standards it was majorly progressive. Doomsday ClockâŚclearly doesnât mean any harm, but actually comes up notably shorter than even its predecessor? While also making its queerness much more important to the plot than Watchmen ever did yet not really doing anything with that but using it as a delivery mechanism for Plot, the latter in this issue coming fundamentally bundled with what makes the former uncomfortable? However you slice it, this is a comic where gay and trans people exist, but only a long time ago as something that was shamed, however much the story frames that as a bad thing. And on a related note: is Carver Coleman supposed to be a George Reeves analogue of sorts? Co-star of the Superman-centric issue, bad relationship with his mother, died under mysterious circumstances in the 50s? Perhaps itâll be clearer when that thread wraps up; maybe Iâm the dope, but I still havenât picked up on the thematic significance of his story or Nathaniel Duskâs yet.)
Batman: Last Knight on Earth #1: So on top of everything else, it is buck wild that Snyder and Capulloâs take on the final Batman story isnât a disconnected-from-continuity, archetypal, âtimelessâ tale like All-Star Superman or The Dark Knight Returns, but explicitly a bad ending AU for Snyderâs own current Justice League run. What matters more than where itâs situated though is what it is: in the words of Mark Stack, this book is a chainsaw. It kicks off with what seems the prelude to the sort of traditional ending this isnât, swerves into the dumb memey version that everyone on the internet has seen (including clearly the creators of this comic) which Batman defeats, and then it stands revealed in truth as the MOST Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo version of a last Batman adventure imaginable. Itâs clones and purple super lightning and toytowns and mad alien light babies and Jokerâs head in a jar telling dirty rhymes (easily Snyderâs best take on him to date) and a wayfaring quest to save a world thatâs chosen to die, and this is the prelude. I couldnât be more into it, especially as the ample production time and physical space gives this a much more assured pace than Snyderâs had anywhere else in recent memory, and I could honestly imagine this ending up as my favorite out of the pairâs Batman joints by the time itâs through, the ultimate distillation of their take on him and their joint aesthetic.
Also, unlikely as it is, I think there is a better than zero chance that Omega is Jarro. A mind-controlling disciple of Batman in a story spinning out of current Justice League? Would that really, really be too weird to fit, nevermind that making Starro the final villain of the DCU he in a very real way created?

Look Ahead: December 2017
All the Money in the World
One of the most hotly discussed films of the month has to be Ridley Scottâs All the Money in the World. Telling the story of the kidnapping and mutilation of John Paul Getty III in an attempt to extract money from his grandfather J. Paul Getty, All the Money in the World was originally set to feature Kevin Spacey as Getty. However, after the recent report regarding his sexual assault allegations came out, Scott went back to filming, replaced Spacey with Christopher Plummer, and re-edited the film in anticipation of its December release. An ambitious and commendable choice - especially considering the likely financial implications of releasing it with Spacey so soon after the allegations - it is hard to not admire the effort that has gone into All the Money in the World. This was one that, with Spacey, I was really looking forward to and now, it is easily one of my most anticipated of the month. Over the past decade, Scott has certainly been rather hit-and-miss, but his much of his true story work (namely Black Hawk Down and American Gangster) rank among his very best. If All the Money in the World can come close to the quality of those two films, it should be one of the better films in a crowded December.
Set for wide release on December 25, All the Money in the World stars Michelle Williams, Mark Wahlberg, and Charlie Plummer, alongside the newly cast Christopher Plummer.
The Disaster Artist
Thus far in his directorial career, James Franco has directed 12 films. That may come as a surprise to many and it should, but it should also not peak any curiosity. Of these are a few documentary films, a few William Faulkner/Cormac McCarthy/John Steinbeck adaptations, a few docufiction films, a comedy, and a co-directed horror film, all of which are horrible. Frequently, his work is called âpretentiousâ, âself-indulgentâ, or just derided as being outright bad. Thus, it may seem all too appropriate that Francoâs first good film as a director is about the process behind making the worst film ever made by a man somehow more self-indulgent than Franco himself. It should not be a surprise that Franco knows how to capture the delusional process behind making such a bad film, considering his intimate knowledge of the process as both an actor and a director. In The Disaster Artist, Franco takes the insanity behind the cult film The Room and brings it to life alongside many of his regular collaborators. Of all of the Awards fare this year, The Disaster Artist seems primed to be the strongest box office success considering Francoâs general comedy appeal and the popularity of The Room among key demographics (read: young people 18-40). While unlikely to be the film to turn around Francoâs directorial career, The Disaster Artist nonetheless promises to be one of the funnier looks at show business in this decade.
Appearing alongside Franco (who stars as Tommy Wiseau) are many of his usual collaborators including Seth Rogen and Dave Franco, as well as Alison Brie, Zac Efron, Jacki Weaver, Josh Hutcherson, Hannibal Buress, Sharon Stone, Melanie Griffith, Jason Mitchell, Paul Scheer, Jason Mantzoukas, Zoey Deutch, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Ari Graynor, and Bob Odenkirk. The film is set was released on a limited basis last week with its initial wide release set for December 8. This release was set to be wider as of earlier this week, but was scaled back, likely in favor of a slower rollout. Thus, look for the film to continue expanding throughout December.
Downsizing
Though having received rather divisive reviews - seems very love it or hate it thus far - Alexander Payneâs Downsizing is a film that is hard to not be excited about, solely because it a film by Payne. The seventh film he has directed, Downsizing represents the first mixed reception of his career of hits, though Downsizing was nonetheless nominated for Best Film by the National Board of Review. A science fiction film about a world in which people can opt to âdownsizeâ or shrink to a tiny fraction of their typical size, Downsizing seems to be one of the weirder original films of the year. It seems to be very existential in theme while being rather eccentric with its comedy. In seeing the promotional material for the film, it is not hard to see why Downsizing is so divisive, considering how odd its premise and execution appears to be. However, for those who appreciate original films, Downsizing appears to be a must-watch.
Set for a wide release on December 22, Downsizing stars Matt Damon, Kristen Wiig, Jason Sudeikis, Christoph Waltz, and Hong Chau.
Hostiles
It should come as no surprise that director Scott Cooperâs last film, Hostiles, is a gritty western. Having made gritty films his entire career, namely Out of the Furnace and Black Mass, it is not a shock to see Cooper try his hand at a classically styled western that appears to be very much in the same style as films by John Ford or Howard Hawks in the 1940s. Telling the story of a US calvary soldier who is escorting a Cheyenne war chief and his family to Montana, Hostiles stars Christian Bale and Wes Studi in the two roles, respectively. In his career thus far, Cooper has received some criticism for being a better writer and actorâs director than being a talented director overall, but even if true, what is certain is that his films always contain some of the yearâs finest performances, whether it be Jeff Bridges in Crazy Heart, Bale in Out of the Furnace, or Johnny Depp in Black Mass. Here, Hostiles seems to be yet another example of Cooperâs ability in writing great characters and eliciting strong performances from his cast, making Hostiles a film that, for fans of great acting or of westerns, is a must-watch. The genre has received the boon in recent times amid cinemagoers openly wondering where the western genre had gone with Hostiles being yet another sign of this return to the western genre for Hollywood.
Set for a limited release on December 22, Hostiles also stars Rosamund Pike, Qâorianka Kilcher, Ben Foster, Rory Cochrane, Adam Beach, Jesse Plemons, and Timothee Chalamet.
I, Tonya
Other than Lars and the Real Girl in 2007, director Craig Gillespie has largely had a middling career thus far. None of his films are outright awful, but most are just passable or mediocre. With his latest film, however, he seems to have struck the right chord with rave reviews coming in for I, Tonya. What, on the surface, could have been a typical biopic is instead changed into a black comedy look at the life of Tonya Harding, a figure skater who quickly became a pariah to the American public only to compound the issue by hiring a man to break the leg of fellow figure skater Nancy Kerrigan. Starring Margot Robbie as Harding, the film is seen as being a chance for Robbie to get her hands on Oscar gold alongside Allison Janney, who appears as Hardingâs mother. Though biopics are often decried by audiences as being too safe or being âOscar baitâ, it appears as though I, Tonya is anything but, instead taking a far rougher approach to the story of Harding with a smart balance between comedy and tragedy.
Alongside Robbie and Janney, McKenna Grace, Sebastian Stan, Julianne Nicholson, Caroline Carver, and Bobby Cannavale, appear in the film. I, Tonya will have a limited release this weekend, December 8, before embarking upon a wider release over the coming weeks.
Mollyâs Game
The directorial debut of famed screenwriter Aaron Sorkin - who wrote The American President, The West Wing, The Social Network, and Steve Jobs, among others - Mollyâs Game is a film that tells the story of Molly Bloom. A crime film that details Bloomâs efforts in running a high-stakes underground poker game that attracts celebrities, athletes, businessmen, and members of the Russian mafia, while eventually earns her attention from the FBI, Mollyâs Game has thus far received rave reviews. Starring Jessica Chastain in the leading role, the character of Bloom seems to be the perfect role for Chastain considering her inclination towards playing headstrong, determined, and tough-as-nails female characters. While Sorkin penning a script is always an assurance that the film will have a great script, Mollyâs Game will serve as a test as to whether or not Sorkin can handle the task of bringing his script to life in the directorâs chair.
The film is set for a limited release on Christmas before expanding on January 5. Beyond star Chastain, Mollyâs Game features Idris Elba, Kevin Costner, Brian dâArcy James, Chris OâDowd, and Michael Cera.
Phantom Thread
With films such as Hard Eight, Boogie Nights, Punch-Drunk Love, and There Will Be Blood, director Paul Thomas Anderson established himself as one of the finest directors working in Hollywood today with strong appeal with audiences. However, after The Master and Inherent Vice, Anderson began to divide audiences and critics with those films slower pace and general incoherence. Though I personally loved both, it is fair to call both - The Master with audiences and Inherent Vice with both critics and audiences - quite divisive. Now, with Phantom Thread, Anderson seems likely to further alienate audiences while appealing to critics in a film set in New Yorkâs fashion world. A slow-paced period drama that has received rave reviews from critics, Phantom Thread is also seen as being a film that could net Daniel Day-Lewis another shot at Oscar gold in what will, allegedly, be his final role before another retirement. Without having seen the film, it does appear as though Phantom Threadâs plot is somewhat of a mystery beyond it focusing on a fashion designer, portrayed by Day-Lewis, who lives a meticulous life and rises to great status in the fashion world only to have his life thrown into disarray when he finally falls in love with a woman.
The film is set for a limited release on Christmas before a wide expansion in 2018. Alongside Day-Lewis, Phantom Thread also stars Vicky Krieps, Lesley Manville, and Richard Graham.
The Post
A film about the efforts of the Washington Post in releasing the Pentagon Papers while fighting with President Nixon, starring Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep, and directed by Steven Spielberg, there was no way that The Post would not become one of the yearâs most acclaimed films. Timely, obviously intended to compare Nixon and Trumpâs issues with the press, and a celebration of the freedom of the press in America, The Post is one of those films that, when nominated for Best Picture, will be maligned by audiences in the midwest and celebrated by those on the coasts. As a film in the vein of All the Presidentâs Men or Spotlight, however, The Post certainly has the chance to be a Best Picture winner while also being a greatly entertaining look inside the world of dirty politics and newspaper reporting.
The Post will be released on a limited basis on December 22 before expanding nationwide on January 12. The film, obviously, features an A-list cast alongside Hanks and Streep. This cast includes Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Paulson, Tracy Letts, Bradley Whitford, Bruce Greenwood, Matthew Rhys, Alison Brie, Jesse Plemons, and Michael Stuhlbarg.
The Shape of Water
Of all the films coming out in December, The Shape of Water is easily my most anticipated. Through films such as Cronos, The Devilâs Backbone, Panâs Labyrinth, and Crimson Peak, director Guillermo del Toro has established himself as one of the finest directors working today. Seemingly be in line with his past work in regards to being a film that uses a war (this time the Cold War) as a thematic backdrop to the events going on in the film, The Shape of Water shows the efforts of a mute woman who attempts to rescue an amphibious creature discovered and abused by the military. Alongside the film Maudie, the film has earned star Sally Hawkins considerable praise while being championed as Del Toroâs best work since 2006âs Panâs Labyrinth. Though the trailer may look a bit conventional, it is easy to say that Del Toroâs film are hardly ever conventional and are often misrepresented by trailers (such as positioning Crimson Peak as a horror film even though it was a gothic romance). Based on responses to the film thus far, it is easy to see The Shape of Water going down as one of the finest films released in 2017.
Having received a limited release last weekend, December 1, The Shape of Water expanded this week and will continue to expand before a nationwide release on December 22. Beyond Hawkins, the film stars Doug Jones, Michael Shannon, Octavia Spencer, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Richard Jenkins.
Wonder Wheel
The allegations against Woody Allen are well known - and even divide his family with some taking his side and others siding with ex Mia - but none of that has stopped Allenâs latest film Wonder Wheel from being released this month by Amazon. While his allegations are certainly more hotly discussed than others, it is nonetheless surprising that Amazon would opt to go ahead with the filmâs release. However, as a fan of Allenâs work, I more than welcome the release of Wonder Wheel. Though receiving mixed reviews like much of his recent output, Wonder Wheel is a film that seems to be a very Allen film with similar characters and themes to his past work, thus fans of his will certainly find a lot to enjoy with Wonder Wheel. Set in Coney Island, the film follows a woman who is married to a carousel operator and in love with another man who is a lifeguard. When her husbandâs daughter comes home - with the mafia after her - and also falls for the lifeguard, tensions flare. Labeled as a crime drama, Wonder Wheel is likely to also feature a healthy helping of Allenâs typical neurotic humor.
Released on a limited basis on December 1, Amazon is likely to play it safe with Wonder Wheel with a rather limited expansion in light of the rising tide of allegations in Hollywood given Allenâs history. Wonder Wheel stars Kate Winslet, Jim Belushi, Juno Temple, and Justin Timberlake.
Others of note:
As is often the case, December is quite the busy month as the above demonstrates, however, with so many releases coming out, it is impossible to cover each. Among other upcoming films that are worth keeping an eye is Michael Hanekeâs Happy End. Known for films such as Funny Games, The Piano Teacher, and Amour, the Austrian directorâs latest film has been more divisive than usual, but should nonetheless appeal to love of foreign films. Isabelle Huppert stars in the film. Additionally, for fans of old Hollywood, the upcoming film Film Stars Donât Die in Liverpool stars Annette Bening as Gloria Grahame and the relationship she formed later on her in life with Peter Turner, who is played by Jamie Bell. Director Paul McGuiganâs career has certainly be more miss than hit thus far, but Film Stars Donât Die in Liverpoolâs has received quite the strong response thus far.
With recent films such as Lady Bird or the new release The Disaster Artist, it is hard to blame indie studio for seemingly forgetting about The Ballad of Lefty Brown, though it is certainly unfortunate. Starring Bill Pullman, Jim Caviezel, Peter Fonda, Kathy Baker, and Tommy Flanagan, the film is a western and will be released by A24 in theaters and given a simultaneous on-demand release through DirecTV. Finally, The Greatest Showman, a musical biopic about P.T. Barnum and starring Hugh Jackman, comes out this month. Featuring lyrics by the lyricists from La La Land, The Greatest Showman is being marketed in such a way that it is clear the studio hopes to draw in fans of last yearâs big musical hit. With a cast that also includes Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, Rebecca Ferguson, and Zendaya, it is easy to see 20th Century Foxâs attempt to turn this into a box office smash for the holiday season, though current predictions seem to suggest it will take a backseat to the multitude of other holiday releases this month.
Of these films, The Greatest Showman is the only one that will receive a nationwide release initially, which is set for December 20. The Ballad of Left Brown, Happy End, and Film Stars Donât Die in Liverpool will be given limited releases on December 15, 22, and 29, respectively.

Cont. from @wingsandahaloâ || Anakin & Scott (x)Â
Scott sighed, because the reality was, he didnât know. This job was his everything, it was what he had always dreamt of and now he was having the chance to live out that dream. But he also wanted them to be like any other couple, walking together in public without fearing how someone would look at him, without worrying if he would start getting less work.Â
âI guess... Right now, as much as it takes. But just because Iâm willing to, doesnât mean I want to.â

Scott laughed at his friendâs response and nodded his head. âAbsolutely. We can just go out and chill and not have to worry. Honestly, I doubt Iâll ever get that big, but I suppose you never know. Iâd still like to maintain at least some sense of anonymity. Think Iâve chosen the wrong career?â

[text] I get it. [text] I donât need all the bells and whistles, just you. [text] However long it takes for you to be ready, itâs okay. Iâm here.
[text] Really? Because I feel like youâre not getting the praise and adoration you deserve. [text] I mean, I know I adore you anyway, but you deserve so much more. [text] Just as long as I have you, thatâs the most important thing to me.Â
