Honestly, I didn't know Scorchwind existed XD so happy accident I guess? But honestly it could be some cool lore I could include, Yellowfang has only ever been in love with Raggedstar in this AU even though she had Scorchedclaw with Jake, so being named after her step uncle could be a way of Yellowfang being sentimental. Idk tho, like I said I didn't intend it

That being said they are both orange (or tortie with orange ig) with green eyes so it could be said that there's some resemblance, even though they're not related at all

Scorched is a bit younger here. Ik this isn't at all how cat patterns function but I'm keeping the bit of lore that the grey pattern expands as she gets older.

au where Brokenstar gets the love and support he needed from his Clan(mostly his kin)

Raggedpelt isn't very emotional invested in his son in canon, more focused on him being strong. It'd stay the same in this AU.

I like to imagine Raggedpelt's littermate, Scorchwind steps into a fatherly role for Broken. Seeing the way the Clan treats Broken as different deeply resonates with Scorchwind, trying to act like rumors didn't hurt.

He comforts Broken and let's him know he can talk to him anytime. (Yellowfang's worries are soothed slighty, seeing Scorchwind offer a gentler side to a father than Raggedpelt did).

Featherstorm absolutely dotes on her grandson. Going to the nursery briefly after he's weaned off Lizardstripe's milk. (She also has a few choice words for how Lizardstripe treated Brokenkit)

Honestly Brokenstar probably would've turn out different if he was shown actual love and support

(this is still a very loose idea as I imagine if Brokenstar wasn't evil, it'd definitely change the story)

Personality stuff/character notes for Jay, my favorite character in Warrior Cats who literally only I care about and remember existed in Yellowfang's Secret and Tallstar's Revenge (she's the leader of the Twolegplace cats before they became Bloodclan)

Bisexual without a preference, is always the dominant one in relationships and usually dates cats who are acquiescent to that even if they are usually more dominant outside of the context of their relationship with her, actually she gets a kick out of dominating otherwise dominant and sometimes even dangerous cats and making it so that they're wrapped around her paw

Polyamorous but it's extremely poorly communicated with her primary partner, Hal, and if they were put in different rooms and asked to describe the conditions of their open relationship they would come up with wildly different answers, which leads to jealousy issues mostly on his end

Egotistical and self assured and often haughty, proud of herself and her leadership abilities and fighting prowess, tends to like cats that are similar to her but she would definitely clash a lot with someone who was too similar to her to the point of being at her level while at the same time being very attracted and drawn to them, her relationship with Hal is close to being like this but he's a little below her level even if he's often testing the limits of that

Often irritated and angry, expresses anger easily, kind of like an "I'm surrounded by idiots" thing even if there's a few cats she's close to that she doesn't usually think of as stupid, she's a bit more forgiving and a bit quicker to calm down with those she's close to partially because the fact that they're close to her and her allies means that their actions and the quality thereof reflect on her and thus admitting too hard to their mistakes would be kind of like admitting to a mistake on her part and partially because she genuinely cares for them

Stubborn, if she decides that a cat is on her bad side then they'll never have any political sway in her group or any kind of positive relationship with her again, if she decides that a cat is on her good side then they can get away with a lot especially if their actions that they really shouldn't have gotten away with make them more dangerous in a way where she will like the fact that she can keep a dangerous cat wrapped around her paw and they'll have a lot of political influence, the ranking of power in the Featherpaws, her group, is basically that the closer you are to her the higher up you are, and the cat she's closest to is her second in command who would in theory take over if she died but in practice this system is very likely to run into the problem of a power vacuum happening if she died. Maybe that's why Scourge was able to take over... She's intelligent enough to see this potential power vacuum problem but hasn't done anything about it, maybe because she likes the fact that she'll be able to have so much influence even in death. She rarely changes her mind because she's self assured in her decisions but those that are close to her might be able to convince her to do so especially in cases where she thought there were no good decisions until they brought another one to her attention. Proud of Featherpaw ways and does not want them to change or be influenced by those of Shadowclan. Won't admit that she was wrong about someone if they were better than she thought or worse than she thought.

Intelligent, she sees past manipulation attempts but sometimes lets them work anyway if what another cat is trying to get her to do wouldn't be harmful for her or her group because her stubbornness can make her want to go along with them depending on what they are, far sighted and holistic enough to see that the war between her group and Shadowclan is stupid despite her love of proving the prowess of herself and her group, thinks of the larger picture when making decisions in a kind of utilitarian/the ends justify the means way, aware of everything that goes on in the Twolegplace like that one quote from Tallstar's Revenge said

A skilled, strong fighter, patriotic about the unique almost dance-like way Featherpaws have of fighting, with every individual tailoring their own style with a concern for aesthetics and what fits them, she's getting on in age but won't let her fading strength show and compensates with her knowledge and experience, her strength is still pretty significant even if it's not what it was when she was younger

Pessimistic and weary about the state of the world and her group's long running war against Shadowclan, she's not worried that they'll lose or come close to losing because she has a lot of faith and patriotism for her group but she is worried that the war will go on forever and they'll needlessly lose more cats to it. She was more optimistic and starry eyed in her youth and was actively trying to end the war while having hope that it would end, but a long series of tragedies and the world spitting in her face for trying to improve the status quo culminating in a Thunderclan patrol beating her up for going to them to ask for help in ending the war flipped a switch in her and made her the much less hopeful, way more world weary, jingoistic and kinda xenophobic cat she is today. Her and Hal's daughter, Russetpaw, is very similar to how she was in her youth even though they had her after this change in her. Crystal was the former leader of the Featherpaws and she got the position of leader after her death because she had been the previous second in command/cat closest to her not long after. She didn't try to end the war like she would have previously, she just shifted their strategy to make it even less pleasant for Shadowclan.

Truly cares about those close to her, when she loses them to death or to them leaving for Shadowclan in the cases of Russetpaw and Boulder it hits her hard but she usually quickly shoves it down cause she's got a group to lead and keep out of danger and dwelling in the past won't help with that and might in fact hurt them. And she just doesn't want to think about that because it hurts her and she's already irritated and weary most of the time and adding more negative emotions to that would only make it worse. And because she's proud and stubborn she doesn't want to think about the fact that she couldn't stop these tragedies from happening. She's experienced a lot of loss but hasn't really processed any of it properly. When the emotions surrounding her loss are mostly grief and sadness she mostly shoves them down but when they're leaning more towards anger there's much less shoving down. She never represses anger.

Amorous and flirtatious, in a rivalry hate/love bickering back and forth and then making out two seconds later or sometimes even during way with Hal and in a dom teasing a sub way with others. And also kind of with Hal. The only time she wasn't the top Russetpaw happened, and she wasn't on top specifically because she and Hal wanted to have kits.

Huge and intimidating, uses her size to her advantage to tower over cats. Looks like and was named after a Canada Jay. Don't question how cats in Britain know what those are, this was a good way to keep her black and white color scheme and also have her be named after a species of jay.

Mother: Crystal, father: Myler, younger siblings: Jake, Ferris, and Whiskers, primary mate: Hal, other mates: Brick, Marmalade, possibly Fury, daughter: Russetpaw, daughter in law who also has a kind of mentor/mentee mother/daughter older friend/younger friend undefined relationship with her after her parents Brick (a she-cat in this AU) and Marmalade died and her brother Boulder and Russetpaw left for Shadowclan: Pixie, Hal's kits with Featherstorm who she only considered to be her fellow Featherpaws after they left Shadowclan to join the group until Hal died at which point she basically started considering them to be her kits because they're all she has left of him: Scorch and Ragged (formerly Scorchpaw and Raggedpaw), Brick and Marmalade's other kit who she was close to in a kind of "mom and dad's cool and suspiciously close friend who sleeps in their nest sometimes" way until he left for Shadowclan: Boulder
