i'm not sure if this counts as a customization question or not, but i was wondering if there was a way to put a "read more" button on posts where i added that to my posts. i write long stories and if you're browsing my blog it looks like it just cuts off, and i've been wracking my brain trying to figure out how to do this. thanks!

hi! it's included in most of my themes in text posts, but i think in some older themes it's missing in ask posts. looking at your blog, it's not working on an ask post.

so you'd go into the code and scroll to the html for the ask posts. i'm not 100% sure which theme of mine you're using so i'm not sure how it's formatted in there. but there should be two versions of it: whether you posted it or whether you reblogged it. underneath {Answer} and {Replies} separately, you put in this code:

the {block:More} means it renders when there is a read more available. the div class "more" is for styling it. you don't have to include it if you want it to look like a regular link. the link directs you to the permalink page where the whole post shows up. and the title of the link is what you want the link to say, ie 'continue reading', 'keep reading', 'read more', etc.

it's listed in the tumblr docs in this section.
