I'm going to say it. I can't hold it in any longer. Scooby Doo reboots don't work because you guys don't understand. Shaggy fucks. To get a good reboot you have to acknowledge the fact Shaggy fucks. You have to understand the raw sex appeal of a lanky stoner hippie with a large dog that goes with him everywhere. You cannot CANNOT take out the fact that Shaggy fucks. Shaggy is absolutely the sex appeal in the gang and I'm tired of it never being acknowledged. There is a reason people love Matthew Lillard. The man understands the raw sex appeal of Shaggy. In this essay I will-

Bit late to the trend but since the Velma show butchered the scooby gang so badly, I've seen people sharing their ideas for a scooby doo rewrite and I wanted to share an idea for a reboot I've been working on for a while now.
The story would take place in Coolsville, a small town famous for the high number of disappearances every year and the rumors of monsters, a witches curse and other paranormal activities. It's also famous for its renowned Personal Dectecives, Mystery Inc.
The gang would be older in this, probably in their 40s. They have grown up in Coolsville and become local celebrities. Aside from Mystery Solving, they have their own lives and families.
Daphne became the writer of an immensly popular series of mystery books detailing the gangs adventures throughout the years (I'd imagine these to be episodes of the past shows, eg. 'What a Night for a Knight' from Where Are You, 'Camp comeoniwannascareya' etc., because yes, they're canon in this reboot). She married a famous fashion designer (but during the events of the story they're going through a divorce because she has finally come to terms that she is a lesbian). She has three kids.
Fred coaches the local highschool football team when he's not inventing new traps or catching monsters. He married a woman who works as the main news presenter on the local channel and he loves her dearly, more than his traps. Together they have two children.
Velma's main focus is Mystery Inc. But on the side she runs the local book shop, the main supplier of Daphne's books. She was married to an English Professor who works at the University a few hours outside of town, but they realised they weren't right for eachother and got divorced. They had one child together.
Shaggy runs a cooking/food review blog where reviews food from all over the world and shares his own recipes and tutorials, all with his trusted dog Scooby by his side of course. He's a single parent of one, and no one talks about his wife because, quite honestly, no one knows who she is.
The Gang are still close, like family, even after all this time. But the show wouldn't focus on them, it would focus on their eldest kids.
Let's meet them!
Grey Matthews-Blake is the richest kid in Coolsville. He's often seen wearing his father's newest line of clothes and his signature designer green sunglasses (that he even wears inside). He's known to be quite dramatic, sarcastic, and generally uninterested in anything to do with his mother and her job.
Wren Dinkley is often told that it's hard to believe they're the Velma Dinkley's child. Whether it's when their preforming their heart out on the stage during whatever production the local theatre group are putting on, or failing science, Wren doesn't let it get them down. They're headstrong, passionate, and totally comfortable with themselves...'totally'.
Cassia Jones is the nicest girl in town. She's captain of Coolsville Field Hocky Team, Head of the debate team and Student Body President. She's bubbly, hard working and determined to live up to the Jones legacy and make her father proud.
Billie Rogers doesn't care what her dad and dog tell her, she knows the supernatural rumors in town are real. And she's going to be the first person to prove it. She's talkative, outgoing, and very knowledgeable in the paranormal - much to her dad's dismay.
Despite their parents relationships, the kids aren't that close. The town's folk expect them to be just like their parents and that couldnt be farther from the truth. But they do have one thing in common with the Original Gang, their mystery solving talent. Unfortunately, for some unknown reason (*wink* plot *wink*) their parents are strongly against them following in their footsteps.
But things come to head one day when Mystery Inc disappear, and the local police turn up useless in the investigation.
Now its up to the kids, Billie, Wren, Grey and Cassia to band together to take up the jobs left in Mystery Inc's absence and find their parents. But in doing so they'll discover that their quaint small town is not all that it's seems and have to unearth a witches spellbook, an old grudge and an ancient evil that many have tried to escape but no one has defeated.
Ft. Side Characters such as The Suspects aka Jinx and Mozz McKnight (daughter and son of Thorn from the Hex Girls!), RJ Herring (Son of Red Herring), and other callbacks from all of scooby doo lore!
This is just the bare bones explanation, I'll go deeper into each character in their own posts and introductions. But this is my own little passion project. I've been obsessed with scooby doo since forever and I've always wanted to make my own iteration :)

🧡 Scooby Doo!! 💜 I saw some people do their takes on the Mystery Gang so here are my headcanons and redesigns! Some further notes: -Takes place in 2004-2008 ish  -In this reboot they are all in college, the mystery van is Daphne’s  -Velma & Daphne have a youtube channel where they do deep dives into Coolsville mysteries and ghost hunting, Fred is the camera guy before the channel collectively becomes the groups  -Fred & Daphne met due to their shared classes, Velma met Shaggy due to their shared interest in forensics and corny romance novels, they all became friends soon after  -Eventually they find out one of the urban legends is a true mystery and it’s up for them to solve it!  -Scooby Doo is named after the snacks

Hello future traveler. Welcome to basically the beginning of this blog.
If you have made it this far, depending on how things go, I applaud you. You are dedicated.
Please give your thanks to my even more dedicated friend Aurora because as of when this was posted she was the only fan I had and was the sole driving force in me making this series via pure enthusiasm and also why it wasnt a one-time impulse thing.
I just started scripting ep one and outling the full plot. We love you Aurora ♡

On my Discord recently, someone was attempting to pitch a crossover idea for The Amazing Digital Circus.
Crossovers are my thing, see, and I've made a small name for myself on Spacebattles jamming together wildly different franchises and somehow making them work.
And it's my opinion that The Amazing Digital Circus is incredibly insular. See, some settings are easy to work with; for Star Wars, all you've gotta do is say that your crossover setting of choice is on a random planet in the undiscovered regions. For Danny Phantom, he falls through a portal in the Zone and ends up somewhere else. Easy.
But TADC is entirely self-contained. It's a simulation inside an implied larger world, connected to between six and twenty people randomly distributed across that world (as far as we know).
But crossovers aren't impossible, and if you don't just want to stick to the method of having (Insert Character Here) put on the headset and forget everything that makes them themselves, here are a few settings the Circus could coexist with with minimal justification.
Sword Art Online
Five Nights at Freddy's (from Help Wanted onward)
That original Yu-Gi-Oh! storyline where they end up inside virtual reality for a bit
Wreck-It Ralph
(ugh) The Emoji Movie
TRON
Scooby-Doo (and the Cyber Chase, specifically)
ReBoot
That Kingdom Hearts game where the whole thing is a simulation for some reason
Code Lyoko
Digimon
And probably more. You'll notice these are all settings where there's cyberspace that people can actually physically visit, with the logic being that, as a computer, Caine might be able to connect with other computers and send the gang on adventures to them. Whether he's aware that these aren't part of his own game or not is author's choice.

when are people going to start mentioning that the only bad thing about old characters being changed to be a minority is that reboots are just... not good and i dont like it when they try to make a reboot progressive because shitty reboots have shitty writing and i dont want to see a beloved blorbo get to be gay only to suffer being forced into being a campy twink when he couldve been a bear if the writers hadnt changed his entire personality to their concept of gay

I've redesigned the Scooby Doo cast a little, not massive changes for Fred, both in design and personality he is still a himbo and rightfully so. Whilst my version of Velma still has a sarcastic side, she's much more of a wholesome nerd than a bitter one. Scooby is a good boi and the therapy dog of the gang. I'm torn on if my version of Scooby can talk, but he can 100% understand. Shaggy has anxiety and Scooby is his support dog, but he still has a fascination for supernatural rumours, a sort of love hate relationship. Daphne is the muscle of the gang, whilst Fred is the strongest, Daphne is the fighter and will defend her friends from anything. I like the idea that this version is set in collage, where the gang is at that point of self discovery and learning adulthood in their life. This reboot would have more mature themes but not needless swearing sex and violence for the sake of being edgy or shocking.

Sometimes I think about if the CH reboot took the late 2010s cartoon route of doing episodic shit for the first few seasons and then slowly introducing serialized elements instead of pretending it was still a parody when they clearly took their characters and storylines seriously too much for it to actually be one.

Okay so it's really late but I don't care I'm doing this anyway
I have realized recently that I cannot draw male physiques that great so instead of being inactive until the end of time while I practice, here are the current ref sheets for Daphne and Velma!
