Right now this is just talk, but I can see this growing quickly. This is a march I would attend in a heartbeat. Immediately after entering office, Trump has gone to work to censor scientific work and block further progress. This is not politics as usual, this is a real threat to our freedom. No administration has the right to restrict the sharing of scientific studies, especially those paid for with public tax dollars. He is blacking out all information he does not agree with and that is not democracy!
It does not matter if you accept climate change. You need to recognize the danger of a president who takes it upon himself silence entire agencies from communicating with the public. Especially agencies that are in charge of our clean air and water. Fight now, because it will only get harder.

I went to order some tiny frames in Central square (thanks #artistandcraftsmansupply ) and bought a sharpie to draw a bit in the grafitti alley. A nice young lady liked my science penguin and gave me an orange paint market, so I drew an octopus, too! #sharpie #molotow #molotowmarkers #artstudio #artistoninstagram #artsy #cute #science #penguin #sciencestrikesback #scientistsmarchonwashington #scienceisnototional #centralsquare (at Cambridge, Massachusetts)

Small wetlands like this one are under threat right now. You can hear how full of life it is. Help save them by going to the meeting at the Martin County Commissioners Chambers 2600 SE Monterey Rd Stuart, Fl on Thursday March 2, 2017 at 7pm and tell them you do not approve of the proposed amendment removing wetlands protection. #floridawater #roamflorida #environment #Floridavoter #scientistsmarchonwashington #birds #floridawetlands #everglades #urbanwildlife #urbanbirds #naturetrumpsall #martincounty #sciencemarch #bluecarbon #stuartflorida #palmcity (at Palm City, Florida)

On April 22, we march!
We will start on the Diag at 12, leave the Diag at about 12:45pm. Estimated end time of 2pm, depending on crowd. The exact route will be announced closer to the date. Twitter: @ScienceMarchA2 Email: [email protected] T-shirts and other apparel (CLOSES APRIL 9TH): https://a2science.itemorder.com/sale flyer: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2GO65QAXcVZN0txckZjZFhEZFE/view newsletter: http://eepurl.com/cJy-J5 Want to volunteer? Fill out this form! https://goo.gl/forms/2lmzpxy8VpcTluW63 GoFundMe link: https://www.gofundme.com/march-for-science-ann-arbor *** https://www.facebook.com/marchforscience/ https://www.reddit.com/r/MarchForScience/ Group for Ann Arbor volunteers specifically (fill out the form listed above first): https://www.facebook.com/groups/1848627885380815/ Group for Michigan: https://www.facebook.com/groups/158239308005755/ *** #MarchForScience #ScienceMarch *** Although this will start with a march, we hope to use this as a starting point to take a stand for science in politics. Slashing funding and restricting scientists from communicating their findings (from tax-funded research!) with the public is absurd and cannot be allowed to stand as policy. This is a non-partisan issue that reaches far beyond people in the STEM fields and should concern anyone who values empirical research and science. There are certain things that we accept as facts with no alternatives. The Earth is becoming warmer at an unnatural rate caused by human actions, and only human action can begin to halt or reverse that warming. The diversity of life arose by evolution, documented in fossils throughout the world. Politicians who devalue expertise risk making decisions that do not reflect reality and must be held accountable. An American government that ignores science to pursue ideological agendas endangers the world. Please bear with us as pull together our mission statement and further details. Many more updates to come on Monday. Twitter: @ScienceMarchDC Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1862739727343189/ Reddit: /r/scientistsmarch Contact: [email protected] Who can participate: Anyone who values empirical science. That's it. That's the only requirement. How can I help? If you would like to participate in planning the march, please fill out this google form, join the volunteer group, and/or subscribe to the newsletter and we will get in touch! and please let us know how you can help. Isn’t science apolitical? Yes. The march is non-partisan, but it is absolutely intended to have an impact on policy makers.
Date & Time: Saturday, April 22 at 12 PM - 2 PM EDT
Location: The Diag, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48109

Scientists' March on Washington
quote: UPDATE: 4:00 1-24-16 : Since 10am today, over 50 people have volunteered to help make this event a reality! We're going to get back to everyone and try to make sure that everyone's time is put to the best use possible. A single google hangout looks unfeasible if volunteers keep coming in at this rate until Saturday, so we're working ways to break into working groups. Stay tuned!

We accept the following as provisionally true:
The Earth is becoming warmer due to human action.
The diversity of life arose by evolution.
An American government that ignores science to pursue ideological agendas threatens not only the environment of which humans are a part, but America itself.
Scientific research in the United States is underfunded.
Politicians who devalue expertise risk making decisions that do not reflect reality.
