Okay because I just read that Mary Sue post (and it‘s correct) but I feel the need to add my two cents: why do we even care so much if a character is a Mary Sue (whether it is male for female) or not? Like who cares? We’re writing about people with super powers, riding dragons or doing other magic. Why is them being extra so bad or unbelievable?

Not every story needs to have gritty and realistic characters. We can go back to simpler writing and „children’s“ fairy tales.

If you want to have a power fantasy character in your story, go for it. It doesn’t matter what others say. That character is there to give you something and first and foremost we write for ourselves.

Like especially in fanfiction, who gives a flying fuck? And even not in fanfiction. If you don’t like power fantasy characters don’t fucking read about them and just let people write and read what they enjoy.

That said, if anyone ever calls a character of mine Mary Sue, I’ll say thank you, yes she is incredibly powerful and stunning.

Also isn‘t every big celebrity or rich person on our planet a Mary Sue? Like rich people will have fans and supporters no matter how bad they mess up or treat said fans.

So yeah, write what you want and I promise Mary Sues (especially the male variation) are more realistic than anything else in your story.

Can we talk about how gentle Victor is with this rat here? The man, who has brutality decapitated an officer, now gently pets a rat on his arm? Just shows how much he values animals over humans since he is one himself and sympathizes with them due to being able to feel what they feel

At the end of the trailer for Meeting Zelensky, does Ze say "Don't be afraid Olena"? Was he referring to Olena Olena? Was she in the same room? Are they going to be interviewed together? 🤔

Yes, he does and I was wondering the same. 😄

It could very well be that our Olena was present because they're getting interviewed together or she was just spending time with him or came for a visit.

Based on the one short clip in the trailer she got interviewed somewhere else alone. But there could still be a part with a couple interview.

Or someone from the team is also named Olena and Ze talked to that person. 😄🤷‍♀️

Like an honest warning, I like villains, I like toxic ships, I don’t mind fictional underage stuff, I like age gaps, I support Targaryen incest and some other things. If you can’t deal with that, just fuck off. I’m pretty close to just tolerating anything as long as it’s fictional. Go have fun. Fantasizing about messed up stuff is healthy btw :) 

My fandoms change frequently, or at least whatever is sitting actively in my brain a few I shall name Dragon Age, MCU, ASOIAF and anything Tolkien, but really, I’m all over fantasy stuff. More focusing on characters than actual fandoms as a whole. A few characters at the forefront of my mind: any character by Charlize Theron, especially Andromache and Cipher but also Lady Lesso, Natasha Romanoff and Negan from TWD. My ADHD and autism make me all over the place.

Apparently Liev Schreiber didn't come back as Sabes for DP&W because he wasn't really willing to push his body so ridiculously hard to get back into the shape the character demanded, which is honestly a pretty reasonable take for a guy in his fifties. Like we all know the insane shit Hugh had to do to prep for coming back as Logan (and it was way worth it) but it makes sense that not everyone would be willing/able to do that as well.

Vinnie Jones didn't come back as Juggernaut either because of the massive physical demands of the practical suit (doing the stunt work in that helmet was apparently genuinely painful for him back in the day). Even Jennifer Garner had to train like crazy to get back to Elektra's toned look for a glorified cameo.

We really need to talk more about the intense demands superhero flicks put on their stars and how much actors have to put themselves through to meet these fictional body standards. Massive respect to all the actors who go through the Marvel/DC "bulk up" workouts and training. Literally putting their bodies on the line for our entertainment.
