I thought about working a 9-5 for the next 45 years of my life and all of my love for life has evaporated
#it's 1am i'm going to read fun fics and forget about it and go to sleep#i have other things to worry about. we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.#.... it's genuinely distressing though.#because the only times i feel like a real person are outside of school or work.#especially holidays#i am never as much myself as during the summer holidays#i never have as much energy and motivation and joy for life as during the summer holidays#but soon i won't get a 2-4 months period to be a real person anymore.#soon i'll have to take a few weeks/year for a good 4 decades and by the time i'm done i won't have enough money to enjoy my freedom#i don't want that. i want to be a person. i want to be me 24/7 all year round#i don't want to say 'i'll do it when i have the energy' every day and know in my heart i won't ever have it anymore#do you know how long it takes to recharge those batteries? three weeks of holidays won't cut it#and i'm not even going to get that#i don't want to stop drawing to stop having fun with fandom to give up my hobbies and who i am as a person#but i know i don't have the energy to be a person after 4-5 hours of work#what is it going to be like when i have to do 7 hours a day?#when i have to push past my limits every day?#i can't conceive of a future where i work. i just can't. and it's going to happen and it's going to kill me#and i'm not even going to be dead! i'm just going to sleepwalk around the whole time and never be a person again#because all of the energy i have for that will have been taken by a work i don't want to do#.... okay i'm going to cry. um. fanfic time. i'm going to bury that under good fanfic so i can manage to fall asleep#wow i have a ramble tag now

(in here, a magic that connect hearts) Rutile SSR Card Story Translation
Tumblr media
Translator note: This, and all the fifth anniversary card stories, reference each character’s affection story (which can be read here) and I recommend reading them beforehand.
What will you write in the report card - Episode 1
Akira: I'm looking forward to tasting Nero's cake.
Rutile: Yeah. I'm getting hungry now.
(Crashing sound)
Akira, Rutile: Whoa!?
Akira: I-I just heard a loud noise...
Rutile: It's from outside, right? …..ah.
Bradley: I'm gonna blow your head right off!
Mithra: That is impossible. I'll kill you before that happens.
Looking out the window, Bradley and Mithra were fighting in the air with magical tools in their hands.
Bradley:《Adnopotence》
Mithra:《Arthim》
Gunshots rang out in the blue sky, and a giant ghost-like thing flew around in the sky.
Akira: (It's a familiar sight, but... it's still bad for my heart every time...!)
Meanwhile, gazing up at the same scene, Rutile leisurely smiled.
Rutile: Mister Mithra, you're in high spirits today too. Mister Bradley too.
Akira: Eh... I think that long surpassed the level of high energy?
Rutile: But that's just how Mithra and the Wizards of the North are. It's the same as me being carefree and Master Sage being kind.
Rutile smiled softly, as if watching over his students.
Rutile: Fighting is certainly scary. But if Mister Mithra and the others stopped fighting, wouldn't that be a bit worrying?
Akira: That's...certainly true...
Akira: Wha...?!
The impact shook the magic manor. The two's quarrel had not subsided, but rather became even more heated.
Akira: Snow and White are out, and Oz is away on a mission. We really had to stop them...!
Rutile: You're right. It's about time we called out to them.
Rutile opened the window and leaned out.
Rutile: Mister Mithra, Mister Bradley!
Mithra: Rutile?
Bradley: Ah!? Stay out of the way, you bastard!
Rutile: Sorry for interrupting your fight! Would you like a snack?
Mithra: …….
Mithra: Snacks?
Rutile: Mister Nero baked a cake using a new recipe.
Rutile: We're going to go try it now, and I was wondering if you two would like to join me.
Mithra: …….Now that I think of it, I'm a little hungry.
Bradley: What? Where are you going?!
With Bradley's yelling behind him, Mithra came flying in without a word. He swerved over the window frame and entered the hallway.
Bradley: Hey! ….hah…
Akira: (Ah... Bradley flew away. I guess the fight is over...)
Mithra: What kind of cake is it? Venison?
Rutile: It's an orange cake. Apparently they got a lot of fresh oranges at the market.
Rutile speaks with a cheerful voice, as cheerful as a spring breeze. Even though he has interrupted a northern wizard's fight, he doesn't seem shaken.
Akira: (Rutile is a young and energetic wizard, but maybe because he's a school teacher, he's more aware of these things than his age would suggest.)
Akira: (Come to think of it, I thought something similar when I interviewed him before…)
What will you write in the report card - Episode 2
A few days later, I happened to pop into the lounge...
Chloe: Rutile...
Mitile: nii-sama...
Chloe, Mitile: We're sorry!
Rutile: ……
Akira: (Huh? Chloe and Mitile are apologizing profusely to Rutile...?)
Akira: Umm, you three. Did something happen?
Chloe: Master Sage! You see, we were messing around and knocked over a glass...
Mitile: We spilled juice on the picture nii-sama was drawing...
When I looked at Rutile's hands, I saw orange splashes splashing all over the corner of the picture he was working on.
Chloe: I'm so sorry!
Mitile: I'm sorry, nii-sama!
As the two of them apologized profusely, Rutile frowned dramatically.
Rutile: I'm soo angry. You two are going to be punished.
Rutile: As a punishment... you have to draw with me!
Chloe, Mitile: ….!
Rutile: Now, bring the tools from my room. And two glasses of juice. One for the one you spilled, and one for Master Sage.
Mitile: Yes! Of course!
Chloe: I'm off now!
Rutile: Have a nice trip!
Rutile sent them off with a smile as they hurriedly left.
Akira: ...Um, Rutile. You're not actually angry, are you?
Rutile: Yeah. Not at all.
Akira: Then why did you punish them?
Rutile: I don't mind a stain this small, but Mitile and Chloe will probably be bothered by it.
Rutile: They're both kind, but when they're depressed, they tend to hold it in, so I thought it would be better for them to be properly punished so they could move on with a clear mind.
Akira: (It was a way of dealing with them that suited their personalities... He's really a teacher after all.)
Rutile: They were apologizing profusely, but I'm happy about this stain.
Rutile: The fact that they messed around and screwed up was proof that they had become close.
Looking down at the painting, Rutile smiled, embracing it. The way he looked at the newly formed stain was endlessly warm, like the sunlight.
But his clear eyes were not only kind, but also intelligent and fair.
Akira: (...I wonder what the magic manor looks like from Rutile's point of view.)
Akira: (I'd like to know how the magic manor looks through Rutile's eyes, like having a teacher write a report card.)
Akira: (I was also thinking about updating the contents of the sage's manual a bit…)
Akira: Rutile, I have a request.
Akira: I'd like to interview you again to write in the sage's manual. Is that okay?
Rutile: An interview? Of course, I'd be happy to.
Rutile: : How about tonight? I'll be waiting for you in my room.
What will you write in the report card - Episode 3
Rutile: Here you go. It's my favorite tea these days.
Akira: Thank you. Wow, what a nice smell...
Rutile: Hehe. It was like this in the last interview too.
Akira: That brings back memories. Even back then, I was really impressed by Rutile's kindness and strength.
Akira: It's been a while since then, and the Magic manor has changed a little, hasn't it?
Akira: That's why I wanted to know what Rutile thinks about the current manor.
Akira: In my world, there is a "report card" where teachers would give comments about your daily life, so that's how it feels...
Rutile: I see, that's the teacher's role. Well, I'll have to do my best!
Rutile: About the current magic manor...Hmmm...
Rutile: …………………..
Akira: ...Rutile? S-sorry, it's hard to answer right away.
Rutile: Ah. No, it's not that.
Rutile: I just thought about it a lot, and in the end, I think it comes down to "love".
Rutile shook his bright, sun-colored hair and laughed, as if ticklish.
Rutile: There are all kinds of people at the magic manor, so there are fights, people getting too excited, and all kinds of things happen every day.
Rutile: It's \the manor is always being turned upside down, it's always messy and disorganized, and things aren't going well...
Rutile: But that's why I cherish the time I spend here, and I love everyone who has shared that time with me.
Akira: Rutile...
My heart feels warm.
A lot has happened since I came here. We've clashed, stumbled, been hurt, helped each other, shared...
It felt like everything, all of it, made me smile. All of it was what we needed.
Akira: ….Thank you for your wonderful answer. I feel the same way as Rutile.
Rutile: Really? I'm so happy!
Rutile: But, since I'm here, I'd like to hear it in your own words, Master Sage.
Rutile: Master Sage, what do you think about the current state of the magic manor?
Looking at me with excited jade eyes, I think and try to find the words.
Akira: Ummm… There are many difficult things, but I love you all, even with all that.
Akira: ...And I hope that everyone who chose to remain here as a sage's wizard feels the same way...
Akira: That's why I was so happy when Rutile said that to me earlier.
Rutile: Master Sage...
Rutile smiled slowly, dazzlingly, and took my hand.
Rutile: I'll say it again and again. I love this place, all of you, Master Sage.
Rutile: Please write that in your report card in the sage's manual.
Akira: ...Yes, I'll write it down!
I nodded vigorously and shook Rutile's hand.
I hope that we will continue to make many more wonderful memories, like a stain on a painting.
I can only say because it’s now - Card Episode
Akira: Rutile, thank you for answering the interview for the sage's manual the other day.
Akira: It's not really a continuation of what we did back then, but is there anything you can tell me because it's now?
Rutile: Hmm. I say what I think right away, so I can't really think of anything.
Rutile: Oh, that's right. On the other hand, is there anything you would like to say, Master Sage? Something you can say to me because it's now.
Akira: Huh? Hmm, let's see… it's not  really because it's now but...
Akira: When I first met you, I thought you were a fragile type based on your overall vibe.
Rutile: Huh! Really? I've never been told that in my hometown. Maybe it's because we've all known each other since we were little?
Rutile: ...But I guess I'm fragile...
Rutile: ...Nice to meet you, Master Sage.
Akira: Oh! That was exactly the image I had in mind!
Rutile: Really? I was making an impression of Heath just now. I'll keep it up.
Rutile: My favorite thing is rain!
Rutile: Oh no. I'm too energetic.
Rutile: Something more like, pretty and gentle... Elegant, Rain…
Rutile: What do you think, Master Sage?
Akira: Perfect! ephemeral!
Rutile: Yay! I got the Sage's "ephemeral"!
Akira: (Contrary to my first impression, I really like how energetic and easy going he is…)
Homescreen voiceline
Promises are chains that can restrict our lives, but at the same time, I want to believe that they can be something that enriches our lives. I will do my best to make that a believable reality.

PAC Pick a Palette: One Small Thing That Will Help You Grow ☕🌞💴
Welcome back to my pick a card readings! This time we're looking at the time between our New Moon sowing and our Full Moon flowering. At this stage of the magic making process, work has gone underway to build upon the seed that was germinated and growth happens. Soon it will reveal the peak of its work through the flower, but before then the stem and leaves also deserve attention. They're the ones helping to power the whole thing!
It's important, then, to look at what you're using and where you are in the process. Not everything is meant to grow at the same rate, but sometimes the right ingredients like plant food or pruning clippers can do an incredible job at providing a needed boost.
Pick one of these three color palette swatches to find out what you can add or remedy to assist the growth of your own magic!
(Forgive me if the spread out looks a bit funky this time, it's all about finding the part of the house with the best natural lighting!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pile 1: Coffee Beans
Draw: Four of Wands; Queen of Pentacles, Page of Wands, Death 18 - Communication, Aries Rising - Act, Heartsease - Compassion "Tread a little more tenderly."
Tumblr media
You need more space to grow whatever it is you're creating. A bird can try to lay an egg without a nest, but it's never going to be easy. Building a sturdy nest increases the young's chance of survival. You should try considering the space in which you're using to create your project or desire: are you writing a novel in a cluttered room, or cooking a meal when you can't find half of your measuring cups and saucepans? Are you meditating in a place where it's difficult to tune out the background noise?
Four of Wands talks about creating the space for you to thrive like the corn in Queen of Pentacles. The Queen is able to cultivate her garden in peace and certainty that abundance is hers. You are meant to take what it is you're doing and allow it to grow, so the Queen is being quite literal here. But she wants you to do it from a place of joy and enthusiasm instead of dread.
The Page is fired up from drinking coffee and is ready to go. But you must be in a place of ease with yourself to do this. Your message is to act upon your growth, but do it from a gentle place and at a gentle pace. Do not try to over exert yourself when you do have the space to practice or create. Do not try, for example, to squeeze 45 minutes of exercise into 5 minutes, thinking that it's all the time you're allowed, so why not go overboard, amiright? This is the fast lane to killing what you're growing and your joy for it, pile 1, and what you're growing is still in a very delicate stage. You have time to work out the details, so don't rush this. Heartease was the first card to pop out and the only card to jump, so it's really emphasizing the need to be careful with how you spend your time and energy.
The Communication card is the only one that really stands out to me. Perhaps what you're developing has to do with communications. Writing a book, preparing a speech, blogging, interview, etc. but it could also have to do with growing your connections with other people through how you communicate. You could be rekindling an old friendship from school or meeting someone for coffee? In any case, Compassion is the keyword here. Be gentle and ready to listen more to feedback, while creating a safe space for your friend or colleague to communicate clearly with you. This is a meetup you'll want to act upon, but do so from a place of kindness.
Also for some reason, maybe it's because I heard the song recently while out, but Tom Petty's "Free Fallin" is in my head while typing your reading and only your reading. Argh, such an earworm! If this person you're meeting up with hurt your heart in some way way back in the past… yeah it's cool to be on the defensive, assert your boundaries. Heartease, however, still asks that you treat this situation with diplomacy.
Tumblr media
Pile 2: Radiance
Draw: Eight of Wands; Queen of Pentacles, King of Swords, Knight of Pentacles 19 - Healing Grief, Pisces Rising - Dream, Wisteria - Longevity "Plan for and take the dedicated path."
Tumblr media
You have some similarities to pile 1, so if you were interested in that pile I recommend checking it out for messages. For starters, you have Queen of Pentacles in the exact same space on your spread, so that tells me there's a lot of collective push for undertaking rapid growth at this time. The Queen does it from an appearance of near effortlessness, but it's not without considerable effort on her part. She's able to handle a lot with grace and consistency.
It seems like in your cards, pile 2, you're pretty solid when it comes to growing towards your goals. You've become used to trucking along without must reprieve, as if it's from one thing to another as smoothly as the train cars pass the railroad crossing. You're being asked to remember about the power of momentum, and about the little things that add up. Think of how a bird takes off. When it starts flapping, it flaps hard. Once it's high in the sky, it spreads out and soars with ease. It requires a lot of steady pushing, one flap at a time, but eventually when it takes off it gains more speed than ever.
Again like with pile 1, you have all the time you need to make your dreams grow and flourish. Just don't be surprised if this takes a rather long time to accomplish. The Queen of Pentacles is less interested in quantity or time efficiency as she is in quality. It's not that she isn't punctual, far from it, but she and the Knight know that the best fruits are ones that ripen when they're ready to. You're being encouraged to plan for the long term, with wise judgement as the King of Swords suggests, and to open yourself up to envisioning more brilliant avenues to fly through. Imagine what would make your heart soar, and grow that instead of something that you merely feel "obligated" to do. Great things can take time, but it'll be completely worth the wait.
Also, my sun catcher reflected a rainbow perfectly on the osprey in this Eight of Wands card, it's nice. There is a radiance that comes from taking time to grow something to how you want it to be, like the bird with its fish catching talents (it can pluck them right out of the water and fly around boasting its catch). Your skills will shine here, just be sure to care for yourself in the meantime.
Tumblr media
Pile 3: Perfect Penny
Draw: Nine of Wands; II High Priestess, XIV Temperance, Seven of Wands 25 - Truth, Taurus Moon - Relax, Belladonna - Silence "Listen more and quiet be."
Tumblr media
So this was an interesting spread because at first I couldn't tell if the message was to hold on or let go. Maybe that's your current dilemma when it comes to growth. And it's a valid one, cause it's a lot like the pruning stage. You have to decide which leaves are valuable to your health, and which leaves are dead and must be clipped away.
The penny is like… saving a wishing penny for a rainy day. You're on the defense with Nine of Wands. Do I use this penny now to accomplish this, you ask, or I should I save it for later when I might use it for something else? Nine of Wands is a lot of energy being deliberately held back for a reason, like an arrow ready to fire. It could be that you're maybe putting a little too much perfectionism into the idea. What you're growing has not yet been grounded into the material world, it's still a passion idea or a fire in your heart but you're holding it back. But Nine of Wands is also a Sagittarius card, doubly so since Sagittarius is the 9th sign. The requirement here for growth is pushing forward with optimism that your wish will not go to waste. There's an energy of perfectionism here especially as it took me exactly nine photos before I settled for this one. I finally decided it didn't have to be perfect, it just had to feel ok enough!
My first reaction was to say "trust your gut and you'll learn to balance the give and take," then High Priestess and Temperance came out together! Somewhere inside you already know what it is you would like to do with "the penny" of an idea you're casting into the wishing well. You don't have to overthink this. It's a matter of coming from a heart-centered place of Truth. Belladonna is showing you how to tap into your intuition: "listen more, silent be." Listen closely to what your heart is wishing to do. Balance this out with how others may perceive your goals or growth. There may be people who say something like, "you're going to use what you got on 'that'?" or "are you really sure that's what you want to do?"
It takes practice to choose from a place of intuitive open mindedness, but it will reward you in this case. You're being reminded to stay relaxed and steady about this. Making the next move doesn't have to come from a place of high pressure or unneeded stress, even if it's time sensitive. But by learning to listen to your intuition more, the part that tells you how to proceed from a place of optimism within reason, you'll be able to more quickly expand and grow upon what it is you're creating. With penny's copper corresponding to Venus as well as Taurus moon, it's suggested here that you could receive monetary or financial growth through this, as well.

She is currently the only sorcerer from her class still alive(with Kento and Yu Haibara being her direct classmates)
BACKGROUND:
Urami was born into the Yamikiri Clan, a clan of curse users that recently(within the last 200 years) defected to become sorcerers(with a rift; some of the clan broke off and still are just curse users), who are known for being able to use divination tools as weapons in their sorcery. They're a fairly powerful clan, although not nearly on the same level as the major three clans, or even other smaller clans like the Inumaki clan. Urami was born with the innate ability to draw out power from tarot cards, and although it is a powerful ability, is it not the clan's signature technique, going to a boy in her clan around her age. Because of this, Urami is constantly overlooked as a sorcerer in her family, and this instills a strong drive in her to improve her abilities from a young age. Out of spite alone, she becomes one of the stronger sorcerers in the clan before even attending her first year of school.
Urami is enrolled in her first year at Tokyo Jujutsu High along with Kento Nanami and Yu Haibara, both of who are intimidated by her at first because of her naturally intense facial expression and dark clothing and makeup. She is much stronger than both of the boys in her class, and through helping them train, she discovers her love for teaching others and her natural ability to help people reach their potential. She becomes very close to the two boys over the course of their time together.
At some point in her first few weeks, she meets the second year students, among them Satoru Gojo. She of course knows who he is; every sorcerer does, and she was often told growing up that she would likely be going to school with him, and that he was the strongest. She immediately challenges him to a fight, wanting to test her skills against his(she knows she likely will not win, but she wants to see where she stands against him regardless). He doesn't take her seriously at all, and instead chooses to flirt with her, asking her to agree to a date when(not if, when) she loses the fight. This enrages her and puts her off of being too friendly to Satoru, and in the fight she even manages to get a few hits off on him, which mildly impresses him. He still wins, and she's now more determined to defeat him specifically than anyone in her own clan, finally recognizing how small she was thinking about being the top of just her clan alone.
As the school year continues, she continues to grow closer to her schoolmates. She becomes noticeably softer in both demeanor and tone with Kento and Yu, and tends to be the middle ground between Yu's boundless optimism and Kento's intense pessimism. She even becomes friends with the upperclassmen, becoming very close to Shoko Ieiri and even developing a mostly friendly (one-sided)rivalry between herself and Satoru, although she still dislikes his abrasive personality and constant flirting.
She is not initially super close to Suguru Geto(not for any particular reason, they just don't interact much at first), but she does respect his calm demeanor, and they share a lot of similar worldviews on the places of sorcerers in society at large. After they go on a successful mission together, they connect more, and end up hooking up together unexpectedly. Urami however is not looking for a relationship in school, too focused on becoming a better sorcerer, and doesn't want people to find out, especially Satoru, who'd never let either of the two live it down. Suguru agrees to keep their night together a secret, and that's the only time it happens.
Urami is at school fighting the Fly Heads Toji Fushiguro unleashes during the assassination of the Star Plasma Vessel that Suguru and Satoru are charged with protecting. Urami vividly remembers this day as the end of her happy times at Jujutsu High, and the events that follow are what inspire her to become a teacher: she wants other students to have an easier time at school, and wants to help them to become strong enough to protect each other.
Over the next year following the assassination, she becomes despondent over the fact that Satoru now completely outclasses her, and it causes her to withdraw into only spending time with her own classmates for the most part. She is riddled with grief when she and Kento are unable to save Yu Haibara from the misgraded curse. Kento falls into a deep despair after, and Urami spends much of her time making sure he eats, sleeps, and takes care of himself. At one point, he snaps at her, asking how she can function after losing their classmate, and her facade of being put together crumbles, and she explains that she has to be strong for her remaining classmate. The two become even closer after that and refuse to run solo missions after that, becoming more reliant upon each other.
Because Urami is so busy with her own feelings, she doesn't notice Suguru's descent into madness, and is with Shoko when they find out he killed an entire village of normal people. Both of the girls confront him, and Urami stays after Shoko calls Gojo and leaves. Suguru notices Satoru approaching and decides to use that moment to bring up the night he and Urami had in front of him, as a manipulation tactic to fracture their friendship. Urami is upset at him doing so and runs away, crying. Satoru tries to ask her about it but she refuses to discuss it with him, and he finally stops flirting with her after that, realizing she truly isn't interested in him romantically.
When Urami and Kento graduate, and Kento decides to leave the world of jujutsu sorcery, Urami does not take it well, telling him she hates him and will never speak to him again. Even after his return, four years later, she refuses to speak to him, and actively tells people to not talk about him with her around.
Satoru and Urami both become instructors at the school around the same time, with Urami being put in charge of third-year students following Yaga's promotion to principal, and Satoru in charge of first-year students. Urami is annoyed at first(and remains annoyed at Gojo's less-than-stellar teaching methods), but she becomes much closer to him as a coworker than the two ever were as classmates. She finds she agrees with him about a lot of things, including the current power imbalances in the world of jujutsu sorcery(though she does not share his wish to kill all the higher-ups), and his desire for their students' happiness.
Around the time of the events of JJK0, Urami and Satoru start spending more time together between classes, even spending time at each others' homes. It's taken them both many years, but they're finally able to speak about things from the past, including the incident with Suguru trying to fracture their friendship. Satoru admits he was jealous of Suguru, and that he still finds her attractive, but he realized after that, that she really wasn't interested in him. Urami is sad from this revelation, but she doesn't fully understand why.
Even though Yuta Okkotsu isn't yet her student, she is very concerned for his wellbeing after his enrollment to Jujutsu High, and is extremely annoyed by Gojo throwing him to the wolves with no training almost immediately. She's also extremely concerned as Suguru Geto returns to cause trouble, knowing his strength quite well, and knowing he wouldn't be planning something he didn't think he could win.
On the evening of the Night Parade, she is in Shinjuku with Satoru, principal Yaga, and her students. When Satoru sends Toge Inumaki and Panda back to the school, Urami requests to be sent back with them, but Satoru asks her to trust him and send them alone, and she hesitates for a second before agreeing. She doesn't return to the school until Gojo does later, and witnesses Suguru Geto's death. She is overcome with grief for her old friend, and realizes she has to make things right with her old classmate, Kento Nanami. Satoru teleports her to Kyoto where Kento has been fighting the curses unleashed by Geto and his cult, and she reunites and apologizes to him. Kento is just happy his friend wants to speak to him again, and they make up fairly quickly, flying back to Tokyo together.
On the flight back home, Urami also realizes she's in love with Satoru, and has been for a while, but just didn't understand her feelings before. She makes a brief stop to pick up some sweets for him, and drops by unannounced to his home, which she never does. He's surprised but happy to see her, and while he's distracted by the sweets and his back is turned to her, she wraps her arms around his waist and confesses her feelings to him, getting self conscious at the last second and telling him she understands if he's moved on. He of course has not, and tells her so, and they begin a relationship.
Between that point and the start of the main story, Satoru proposes to Urami in secret. He wants to marry her, but not until he's able to keep the higher-ups from targeting her should they announce their engagement. She wears the ring he gets her on a necklace under her school uniform.
Much like with Yuta, Urami is very concerned for the wellbeing of Yuji Itadori after he becomes Sukuna's vessel and becomes enrolled at the school. She is very upset when he dies and overjoyed with his revival. She agrees to keep his revival a secret along with Shoko, Ijichi, and Nanami.
She is very concerned at the appearance of the special-grade curses, especially Mahito. Being close to Kento, he confides in her that he finds a young girl being held captive in the sewers by the patchwork curse(that girl being Chiyo Yoshida, another OC of mine!), but she refused to come with him, and they check the girl's house for evidence of how she ended up down there, and to check on her grandmother and cat as the girl requested before running away from Nanami. She takes the girl's cat, Momo, to take care of him, hoping they are able to rescue her and reunite her with her pet.
Urami is with Satoru when he reveals Yuji's still alive, and supervises along with the other school faculty for the Exchange Event. She's extremely distressed by the intervention of the cursed spirits and does her best to return to her students side. She begins doing tarot readings to see if she cant find some insight into what the curses are planning, but keeps drawing the Death and Tower cards.
In Shibuya during the Incident, Urami is on her own, a backup for Satoru Gojo, much like Mei Mei and Ui Ui. She finds out he's gotten sealed at the same time most people do, when she hears Yuji shouting it from the rooftops. She's able to fight through the transfigured humans to get to the lower levels of the terminal, but she runs into Mahito, and Chiyo Yoshida(my other OC), and fighting both of them on her own proves to be too much. She manages to escape with a smokescreen attack, and leaves to find backup, eventually running into second-year student Panda and her fellow teacher, Atsuya Kusakabe, as they're trying to find B5 to get to Gojo(or, more accurately, where Kusakabe is misleading Panda in order to avoid going to B5).
Before the group can decide on a course of action between fighting Mahito and making their way to Gojo, the remnants of Suguru Geto's former cult arrive to accost them, and then Jogo and Sukuna's battle interrupts both groups, and the ensuing fight buries her under the rubble of the city along with Kusakabe.
The group manages to reconvene and head to the final showdown with the man piloting Suguru Geto's corpse, with Urami and Kusakabe protecting Miwa Kasumi from the Uzumaki make of Mahito's absorbed cursed energy. Urami, like the others, is not able to counter Not-Geto, nor Uraume's ice powers, and is unable to prevent the duo from leaving.
In the aftermath of the Shibuya Incident, Urami becomes extremely disillusioned with the world of jujutsu sorcery, but continues to play the dutiful teacher role, though she finally understands her fiance Satoru's desire to kill the higher ups after their declarations of his and Yuji's execution. She is able to get Chiyo Yoshida enrolled as a student, the final student Yaga is able to enroll before his own execution sentence. She introduces the girl to the students still around and conscious post-Shibuya: Maki, Megumi, Yuta, and Inumaki, before continuing her duties as a teacher and a sorcerer. On the side, she speaks privately to Yuta about saving Yuji's life and stopping the upcoming Culling Game the sorcerer Kenjaku is planning. AND IM ANIME ONLY SO THATS ALL I GOT FOR NOW LMFAO

Legendborn by Tracy Deonn

A flying demon feeding on human energies.
A secret society of so called “Legendborn” students that hunt the creatures down.
And a mysterious teenage mage who calls himself a “Merlin” who attempts—and fails—to wipe Bree’s memory of everything she saw.
The mage’s failure unlocks Bree’s own unique magic and a buried memory with a hidden connection: the night her mother died, another Merlin was at the hospital. Now that Bree knows there’s more to her mother’s death than what’s on the police report, she’ll do whatever it takes to find out the truth, even if that means infiltrating the Legendborn as one of their initiates.
She recruites Nick, a self-exiled Legendborn with his own grudge against the group, and their reluctant partnership pulls them deeper into the society’s secrets—and closer to each other. But when the Legendborn reveal themselves as the descendants of King Arthur’s knights and explain that a magical war is coming, Bree has to decide how far she’ll go for the truth and whether she should use her magic to take the society down—or join the fight.

My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite
Korede’s sister Ayoola is many things: the favorite child, the beautiful one, possibly sociopathic. And now Ayoola’s third boyfriend in a row is dead, stabbed through the heart with Ayoola’s knife.
Korede’s practicality is the sisters’ saving grace. She knows the best solutions for cleaning blood (bleach, bleach, and more bleach), the best way to move a body (wrap it in sheets like a mummy), and she keeps Ayoola from posting pictures to Instagram when she should be mourning her “missing” boyfriend. Not that she gets any credit.
Korede has long been in love with a kind, handsome doctor at the hospital where she works. She dreams of the day when he will realize that she’s exactly what he needs. But when he asks Korede for Ayoola’s phone number, she must reckon with what her sister has become and how far she’s willing to go to protect her.
Solitaire by Alice Oseman
Tori Spring isn’t sure how to be happy again. Then she meets Michael Holden, and they try to unmask the mysterious Solitaire (and survive high school) in Alice Oseman’s stunning, unflinchingly honest debut novel, which first introduced her fan-favorite Heartstopper characters Nick and Charlie.
The Shadow in the Glass by JJA Hartwood
Once upon a time Ella had wished for more than her life as a lowly maid.
Now forced to work hard under the unforgiving, lecherous gaze of the man she once called stepfather, Ella’s only refuge is in the books she reads by candlelight, secreted away in the library she isn’t permitted to enter.
One night, among her beloved books, of far-off lands, Ella’s wishes are answered. At the stroke of midnight, a fairy godmother makes her an offer that will change her life: seven wishes, hers to make as she pleases. But each wish comes at a price and Ella must decide whether it’s one she’s willing to pay…

Experiments with Sleep in Russia
                                  Dragunov Week Day 1: Origins
Welcome to my entries to Dragunov Week! These were written in response to seven prompts issued by @dragunovweek1.
Content warnings for this story: body horror, canon-typical violence, and references to bullying.
Can be read here or on AO3.
Please enjoy, like, and leave comments! Thank you for reading!
                                           1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7
                                               -  -  -
Your name is Sergei Alexandrovich Dragunov, you are nineteen, and you see patterns where others do not.
That's why your favorite subject in school was science -- after physical education, of course. Science is about patterns. Observing them, testing how they work, coming to conclusions. Methodical, delineated steps. You like those, and things that involve those. Sometimes you think you would like a career in science. Biology, maybe. Get your hands dirty. You like that too.
But that would involve going back to school, and that's a hard sell. It's not a question of coursework difficulty. It's your fellow students.
You see patterns, and you know when you don't fit in them. Your silence, your scars are enough to draw the scrutiny of your peers. Some do not like what they find. Your mere existence gives them cause to hate. To them, you are a cockroach.
    Very well.
Your carapace is defiance -- you will not be made a victim. Your eyes are compound -- this is not your first fight. Your claws are sharp -- your right to life will not be torn away.
They can stamp on you all they wish. You have survived worse. They are soft and easily broken.
When the dust and lawsuits issued by parents settle, you wear your bruises with pride.
You do not go to university. Even if your grades were sufficient, you don't want to go. You've had your fill of so-called colleagues.
The army is happy to have you instead. It's an adjustment, like any major life change, but you adapt. Strict routines and discipline are the same, whether in boot camp or a laboratory. You come to like your training.
Three-quarters into basic, you find the opportunity to do some science too.
                                                      -  -  -
No one has slept well in over two weeks.
You could chalk it up to a number of reasons. Your drill sergeants certainly do. Stress, of course. Strenuous schedules. Guts and bowels conditioning themselves to military cuisine. Your superiors take the opportunity to call you lazy and weak.
But you see patterns, and you know something is wrong.
You observe who's the testiest at mealtimes, the slowest at practice, the yellowest, crustiest around the eye. The deprived live in the same buildings, though not all are targeted at once. The insomnia travels in waves. Something is letting them recoup their energy before striking again. Something is farming your fellows.
It can't go on. Someone is going to be drained to the breaking point. The cracks are going to crumble completely. There have already been four fistfights in the mess hall. Hypothesis: someone is going to seek refuge in the barrel of a gun than continue enduring this torment, possibly taking out others in the process in what they see as a mercy.
You don't want to wait for results. You're training to kill people, yes, but you'd rather they deserve it.
You wait instead until it's your barracks' turn for reaping. Curfew has come and gone. You should be in your bunk, but you're not. You're hiding in the bathroom ceiling, courtesy of a loose panel that didn't fit in. The only light is the glow of your watch. 0217 hours. Go time.
You drop to the floor as quietly as possible and sink to your belly. You crawl like a cockroach, innocuous, from linoleum to wood scuffed with years of boot-prints. You do not want to draw the attention of whatever is making everyone's lives hell.
You follow the scent of graveyard dirt.
What you find skews everything you thought you knew.
She is the product of a mad sculptor given clay of human tissue slathered over the bones of a colossal rat. Sitting on her haunches, perched on the chest of your adjacent bunkmate -- she would've selected you if you had been sweetly dreaming, you realize -- her elongated jaws hanging above his face. A steady stream of gray mist wafts from his slack mouth past her saber fangs into her gaping throat. His body jolts and cramps from head to toe, eyes frenzied beneath closed lids.
Your stomach wants to vacate the premises. She -- whatever she is -- she does not belong in this world. Part of you says to bolt. Get the fuck out of the barracks, out of the base, until you can run no longer.
Another part -- a greater part -- is so angry it makes your hands ball into shaking fists. It makes you rise to your feet and, as carefully as you can, pick up a nearby folding chair.
She has no right to prey on the defenseless.
And so you do what you wish someone would've done for you when you were being victimized.
The chair connects with the side of her head with a clank that's more sound than substance. It leaves a dent in the metal -- her skull is harder than you thought. It does accomplish two things--
One: it knocks her off-balance, and she spills out of the bunk in a spasm of long, spindly fingers and--
Two: it wakes everyone else up. Groaning, slowly other soldiers rise from their stupor. Her parasitized host sobs, rolls onto his side, and vomits on the floor.
The creature slinks around the end of the bunk. Again your gut twists with visceral horror at the sight. She has a woman's face stretched over a rodent muzzle, and her nostrils flare a split second before her orange fur stands on end and she screams from the deepest pit of her lungs.
The noise forces your eyes closed, pierces your eardrums, and makes your skin feel splashed with prickly oil. You nearly lose hold of the chair. You fight through the pain -- under the sharp ring in your hearing, there are ticking claws--
    She leaps, teeth reaching.
You don't think. You let your body do what it's been trained to not only for these past weeks, but earlier too.
You like science, but your best marks were always in wrestling.
Dodging her snapping jaws, you let the creature's own momentum propel her throat into your grip and drag your weight with her, slamming her to the ground. You pin her legs under your own, her scrabbling paws under the chair. Her tail is just long enough to curl around your thigh.
The revulsion that fills you fuels the fists that fall on her face.
You don't know how long you keep punching. Eventually the others run over to help. They throw blankets onto the thing, smothering her attempts to bite, stomp on swiping claws. To her monstrous credit, she keeps struggling until you tear the gold crucifix your mother gave you from its chain around your neck and drop it onto the thrashing pile of cloth. She shrieks one last time, then goes still.
You learn a lesson that night, one that does not lose its importance in years to come: demons remain flesh and blood.
                                               -  -  -
"Video call for you, Private Dragunov."
Three days have passed. No one talked about it openly, but you know word got around. An unused, now locked storage unit in the back of the garage grew a bumper crop of religious icons in seventy-two hours, and in the mess hall, no one meets your eye.
You aren't expecting a call at all, let alone video. If this is your dishonorable discharge, at least you went out on a high note.
You are taken to an office. Projected on a screen is a man sitting at a desk. Spotlights behind him conceal him beyond a black silhouette.
You salute. It feels like the right thing to do.
"At ease," the man says, "Take a seat."
You let your hand fall. The chair provided is cushioned and not suitable at all for beating giant rat-women into submission.
"I wish to discuss the event that took place two nights ago between 0222 and 0228 hours with you," the man continues. Before you can react, he adds, "You are not required or expected to speak."
    You like this stranger already.
"The subject that entered your barracks is a nocnitsa. Are you familiar with their kind? Have you encountered one previously?"
You have not. You shake your head.
"Do you have any prior experience with anomalies? Objects, substances, or entities believed to be supernatural in origin?"
    You do not.
"Our operatives have removed the nocnitsa from its improvised containment for permanent, more suitable captivity. Initial examination revealed multiple fractures to the mandibles and cranium." The man leans forward. "Private Dragunov, during the event, how did you feel?"
    Disgust. Righteousness. Outrage. Courage. Victory.
    Good. You felt damn good.
The office door opens. A woman in a white lab coat -- a scientist -- approaches you. She hands you a business card. It is blank, save for a golden raptor, its wings raised and talons poised to strike.
The man has a smile in his voice. "Are you interested in joining very special forces?"
Your name is Sergei Alexandrovich Dragunov. You are nineteen. You see patterns where others do not.
    And you are.

If anyone's curious (probably no one idk lmao) abt the dynamic between mine and a friends oc (hanako and satsuki) i recommend reading the short fic i wrote:
Cigarettes and the Holidays
(only on tumblr(check masterlist for it)
Anyway, I'm gonna like be more specific in the dynamic between the two and their personalities, designs, au/spinoffs, their bond, etc etc
⚠️⚠️TW⚠️⚠️there will be mentions of death, schizophrenia in one of the au's, gore, etc, all below the cut -> -> ->
Anyways so to start of with their separate personalities (and similarties to other popular characters):
Hanako Adachi: Hanako is my oc, and throughout I'll mention her in blue italics anyways her MBTI is istj (in perspective, think personality like megumi/giyuu/etc) and basically she hates cold weather, and loud and obnoxious people, and likes autumn, blankets, and watching thunderstorms
Anyways now Satsuki Yamako: Satsuki will be mentionwd in green italics is my friends oc, and off the top of my head I can't remember her mbti and such but I do remember my friend saying Satsuki is like Gojo, but knows when to shut up and is also obsessed with death
Anyways on how the two met is this; initially since their 7th year in middle school they kinda were like rivals/trying to one-up the other (Mainly Satsuki, hanako didn't give a fuck) and the summer from going from 7th to 8th, they hung out and were like "oh you're not so bad, your actually rlly cool" and their friendship sprouted from that.
For their designs please go take a look at my art blog @m1k-draws (Mainly the more recent posts or this animation specifically)
Me and my friend before the holiday break were working on a side spin off that they're 1st years and they're on their first winter mission (it's still in progress cus my friend went on vacation for the holiday break) but I also wrote a prequel to Cigarettes and the Holidays; which i may post tmrrw (12/22/24) or around that time (or maybe the 25th??)
Anyways yeah the main lore we have on them so far is the shibiya incident (which again, takes place in "Cigarettes and the Holidays") but to sum it up Satsuki dies (I'll go in more depth in the below paragraph) and how Hanako copes (again, I'll go in depth but it's in cigarettes and the holidays)
Anyway Satsuki’s death:
It's not much of a surpri3s when I say that she died during the shibuya incident. Pretty much how this happens, is after Hanako and her argument, they find a compromise and go off and meet back up in a few hours, but in those few hours, satsuki encounters a "fight"
⚠️⚠️TW: GORE AHEAD(skip this part if needed)⚠️⚠️
Satsuki finds sukuna, and obv he's in a fight against who knows (maybe jogo or smth) and w her scythe Satsuki leapt into the air to get a hit on sukina, but like swatting a fly away, sukuna casually swatt3d h3r away and satsukis arms and legs get cut off, mainly from flying through a building w a hole (below is a diagram??):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then heres where Satsuki lands/map:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-> How Hanako copes is mainly apart of cigarettes and the Holidays (im sorry for saying it like a million times i SWEAR but most of the background rn is like in that thing):
But mainly to shorten it satsuki gives her a cigarette and blah blah later Hanako fights mahito and mahito trys to kill her and touches her leg leg but hanako cuts off her leg just in time (I'll write a spin off abt that later (will feature yuta okkotsu btw !!)
⚠️⚠️GORE OVER⚠️⚠️
Anyeay now onto aus/spinoffs:
Basically instead of Satsuki dying Hanako looses eyesight from injuri3s and blood loss (not a ton of backg4ound on that atm)
Hanako smokes the cigarette and satsuki gets revived (like curs3d smoke ig) and satsuki had now a curse energy glow around her and hanako thinks she's schizophrenic cus she doesn't know that it's ac4uqllt satsuki
Dialog for this one:
H: no, no, no. Satsuki- satsukis gone.
S: no, hey, hey, hanako it's okay
H: Satsuki’s gone!
S: hanako..
Note: So anyways that's all i got for now! I'm gonna post a poll soon for a new animation featuring hanako and satsuki, and hopefully this will give people a clearer thing abt the two ig idk😭
Also keep in mind I'll add onto this cus im kinda gonna keep this as like a think to keep track of info abt them

ɪɴᴛʀᴏᴅᴜᴄᴛɪᴏɴ
Hello! You can call me whatever you like, I just don't know how to call myself and not be cringy XD. Also, I don't speak English well since I'm Kazakh.
In this blog I'll sometimes draw(I'll maybe draw like a toddler, especially when it comes to shades but I'm still learning) and mostly write on my own if I have the energy and I don't have any requests. This is my first time doing such thing so I'm really excited and worried at the same time :')
I'll ask you to be specific on what you request, not just "____ x reader??". I'm just worried about writing/drawing something you won't like and I'm not full of ideas sometimes.
ʀᴜʟᴇs ꜰᴏʀ ʀᴇǫᴜᴇsᴛɪɴɢ
What I WILL write and draw?
• SFW, fluff. It'll be one of the most common things I'll do in this blog
• Angst. I'm okay with depression and self-harm stuff, but DO NOT cross the line
• Yandere stuff, but I'll write/draw without g0re things except some bl00d spots in drawings(but be sure that I'm not good in drawing liquid, especially when it leaks down) and mentions of bl00d and dead c0rpses in writings
• Romantic and platonic writings and drawings, however for some characters I'll accept ONLY PLATONIC requests
• School crushes of child character x child!reader. It'll contain ABSOLUTELY INNOCENT THINGS like holding hands or hugging. I'll put warnings on the characters I'll write such thing
• Drawings and writings as birthday gifts. I can ignore some rules for a birthday gift(I'll write what exactly I'll ignore and which rules I'll still keep), but keep in mind that I'm a human who still has limits and feelings
• Oneshots. But please be specific on what you want
• Character x OC. Again, be specific: what your OC is like, their character, ect.
• The reader of ANY gender. I don't know some genders so I'll do some research on the internet. If you don't like the way I described them, don't be scared to mention it. Even though I write and draw for free, I still want everyone to be comfortable with what I do
• Write/draw 3 characters MAXIMUM. I find it difficult to write and draw multiple characters since I need imagination and energy to do it
What I WILL NOT write and draw?
• NSFW content. I read some of NSFW fanfics, but I'm not quite comfortable with writing it myself
• Character x Character. Exception for birthday kids BUT I don't wanna draw kissing scenes unless it's censored. For example, the scene is censored with a fan
• Any sensitive topics like r@pe and p£d0philia. It's just really one of the worst things I would never write or even think about. Aging up child characters counts as one of sensitive topics since it still means that you're attracted to a child
• Too much g0re. I'm okay with horror movies and games like Poppy Playtime, but I don't feel like writing/drawing it in details
• Change the character's original sexuality. It comes without any exceptions. I respect everyone and every sexuality, including fictional characters
• Poly relationship(Character x reader x character). I don't know how to write it and to be safe and not feel any guilt I won't take any requests relating to this topic
ꜰᴀɴᴅᴏᴍs ɪ ᴡʀɪᴛᴇ/ᴅʀᴀᴡ ꜰᴏʀ
WARNING: THE CHARACTERS MAY NOT HAVE THEIR CANONICAL PERSONALITY, BUT YOU STILL CAN WRITE COMMENTS ABOUT ANY OF MY ERRORS
• Villainous
5.0.5 is PLATONIC ONLY, everyone else can get ROMANTIC and PLATONIC requests
• FNaF: Security Breach/Security Breach: RUIN
Animatronics will be PLATONIC if the reader will be a human since I'm not pretty sure about robot x human thing. I don't mind writing ROMANTIC stuff if it'll be robot x robot
NO WILLIAM AFTON/SPRINGTRAP/GLITCHTRAP/ANY OTHER -TRAP! I haven't watched all FNaF chapters so the only thing I know surely about William is that he killed children
Gregory can have a school crush on child!reader. But mostly, I'll take only platonic requests
• Brawl Stars
I don't even know about "robot x robot" rule here since Rico has a crush on Piper and maybe other robots have something like that too. I think I'll take human x robot requests but still be thoughtful about what you're asking for. Children are PLATONIC ONLY, exception will be only for teenagers who are old enough to have a school crush
• Poppy Playtime(3 chapters)
I'll do PLATONIC ONLY for Poppy since she is a small doll for children: it's hard for me to see her as a romantic possibility.
As for Smiling Critters, Huggy Wuggy, Mommy Long Legs and ect I'll do ROMANTIC and PLATONIC but without shipping them with human!reader.
• Bendy and the Ink Machine/Dark Revival
Small Bendy will be PLATONIC ONLY since he literally acts and looks like a child. But I don't mind writing ROMANTIC stories for Ink Demon.
• Bendy and Boris: The Quest for The Ink Machine
Everyone can be ROMANTIC and PLATONIC since they've reached 18, but the exception will be Jackpot, any mentioned child and Boris: they're PLATONIC ONLY, but Boris can have a school crush since he's 12 . Felix is staying with his original sexuality: homosexual
• Better Half
I never saw any ____x reader works with this fandom so I wanted to start doing one! Everyone can be PLATONIC and ROMANTIC. I'll consider drawing poly relationship with Happy and Depressed Thiu.

sorry to pop up on you kinda just wanted to check in. I was writing something about Konan and thought about you--i hope school is finishing up for you as well as possible and that you are still healing and getting healthier. Keep doing you bro 🌸
hellooooo G-P my dear! oh how I missed talking to you!
I wonder if you've finished writing about Konan yet? If so, can you link me where I can read it? lol I'm so interested!
I'm sorry for the time it took me to answer this message, as well as missing the previous. I'm finally graduated 🤩 Which means I am officialy an architect and urbanist!
However, it did come at a great personal cost. Most of my 2023 was spent either working non-stop on college or the studio I'm employed in - and, as crazy as it sounds, I spent the months of July/August sleeping less than 4hrs a night, every night. Sadly, not sleeping is normalized among architects. 😵‍💫 After I graduated in September, I found I couldn't stop sleeping and being in bed at every opportunity I got; which, of course, was only natural, given how many days I powered through without any sleep whatsoever lol. What I took a bit too long to realize was that all the stress threw me right into a depressive episode, of which now I'm just starting to get out of. Who knew being under extreme leves of mental distress and physical pain could have serious side effects? lol! Moral of the story: SLEEP. It's good for da brains.
I'm now on some meds for anxiety (not depression per-se, as the episode was a consequence and not a cause), and I'm feeling better. Admittedly I was terrified at first, wondering if my personality would change and all that, but I found now I have more energy to overthink the things that bring me joy (like Naruto), and that I've significantly less f*cks to give about things that make me stressed. lol 😂
I've thought a lot about you all this time, I wonder how you are, if you've partaken in more swimming competitions, and if you've been writing. I'll take a look at your Ao3 as soon as I can. (: 🥰
In time, I'll organize myself to be back, as I have a lot of drawings and fanfics to finish, as well as other projects to start. For the time, I'll attach a some sections of my final project; it is a building design to house and support patients that travel long distances to attend the hospital in my city. The motherf*cker almost killed me, but I am proud of it regardless. lol
I'm happy to (slowly) be back. I've missed you and all of this immensly. 🌻

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat/Evita
As you probably know by now, Jesus Christ Superstar is my favorite musical, and the main reason I developed any sort of interest in musicals generally. I have also mentioned before that other popular Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals have not tended to do much for me. The Phantom of the Opera is too florid and lengthy and the characters don’t interest me enough, Cats is amusing fluff but has no real plot or character depth.
But also, perhaps that shouldn’t be very surprising. After all, I tend to be interested in media for its stories and characters more than presentation or spectacle - and Cats and Phantom don’t actually share a writer with JCS. The stuff I love about Jesus Christ Superstar includes the songs, sure, but I wouldn’t care so much about them in a vacuum. The guy who wrote the lyrics, made the story what it is, is Tim Rice.
So a little while back I figured it was high time I actually looked into at least the other well-known Webber/Rice collaborations, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Evita. (I gather abroad Joseph is like, a play every middle school puts on, but not over here; I had never heard of it until I looked up stuff about Jesus Christ Superstar, and never heard a song from it until I went and listened to it recently.)
(Some 5000 words of rambling under the cut, about these two shows, comparisons to JCS, and some character analysis, plus a bit of a digression about the trouble with translating musicals to film!)
Joseph is a pretty amusing one. It’s a show originally written as a fun retelling of a Bible story for kids to perform, before JCS, when Webber and Rice were 17 and 20 years old - specifically, it’s the story of Joseph, not the father of Jesus but Jacob’s favorite son from the Old Testament. Once I listened to it I did vaguely recall hearing the story before, in religious education classes as a kid: Joseph has prophetic dreams about greatness, is betrayed by his jealous brothers and sold into slavery in Egypt, eventually ends up the Pharaoh’s right-hand man after deciphering his prophetic dreams about an upcoming famine, then reunites with his contrite brothers and father.
It’s pretty wild, but you can definitely see the seeds of JCS in it - an isolated story from the Bible, told through a series of songs with very modernized, casual lyrics with a bit of a cheeky satirical energy with regards to some of the source material. But where JCS is a dramatic, emotional reinterpretation, Joseph has very little interest in drawing out the drama of the story it’s adapting, for the most part, and sticks with just retelling it with tongue firmly in cheek and a deluge of indulgent pastiche of a dozen different musical genres. The Pharaoh? A shameless Elvis parody, because why not. The brothers? Sing an over-the-top country song about how Joseph was heroically killed by a goat after they have sold him into slavery, and then later a parody French ballad about how much they miss him.
I quite enjoy just how plainly it presents the whole Joseph being Jacob’s favorite son thing, the narrator talking cheerfully about the coat his father gives him to make it clear that Joseph was the special one, and him telling his brothers about all these dreams he’s having that are clearly symbolic of how much greater he will be than them:
I dreamed that in the fields one day, The corn gave me sign Your eleven sheaves of corn All turned and bowed to mine My sheaf was was quite a sight to see A golden sheaf and tall Yours were green and second-rate And really rather small
What a hilariously smug-slash-oblivious little prick. The brothers are still obviously the villains here, but without exactly commenting on it per se, the musical cheerfully leans into the things a modern audience might find kind of preposterous or silly reading this story, and thus sort of subtextually asks but honestly, wasn’t it kind of dickish of their dad to just pick a favorite son and lavish him with special gifts for it? Isn’t Joseph himself being kind of a dick with this thing of telling them repeatedly about how hey guys I had this dream that I’m way better than you and in the future you’re all going to bow down to me?
And Jesus Christ Superstar does essentially the same thing - though often in a less humorous and more simply speculative way. It asks things like, isn’t it kind of weird and morbid of Jesus to tell the apostles that the bread they eat is his body and the wine they drink is his blood? What if it wasn’t a grand metaphor, but just him expressing his disillusionment with everything, and with them; what if in this moment he just feels like they wouldn’t even care if it was, and he’s right because they don’t even react? Or what if he’s just sort of morosely hoping maybe at least it’ll make them remember him when they eat and drink?
Joseph does have a little bit of a character arc going, which saves it from being entirely fluff. After we’ve seen his (possibly oblivious) self-aggrandizement at the beginning, Joseph gets betrayed and sold into slavery by his brothers, then jailed on false charges, where he goes through a lowest point in the song “Close Every Door to Me”, about how he’s insignificant and it doesn’t matter what happens to him, but he’s holding on to the thought of the Promised Land for strength. After that lowest point, he’s learned some humility - not long after this, when his fellow inmates ask him to interpret their dreams, he agrees to try but isn’t sure he’ll get it right, and is almost sheepish about admitting that well, he hasn’t been wrong before. So by the time Joseph actually gains the glory and prestige that he dreamed of, it feels reasonably earned, not only because he’s been to hell and back, but because he’s stopped being the kind of insufferable, arbitrarily privileged ass he was at the start in the process. (Or, at least, that’s what I get listening to the 1991 London cast recording that I picked somewhat arbitrarily on Spotify. I also watched the 1999 movie with one eye while drawing, and there Joseph honestly kind of felt like he was still pretty smug by the end. I like it better if there’s a character arc.)
At the end, his brothers come from Canaan, which is suffering from the famine, to Egypt to beg for food. Of course Joseph is there to receive them, only for them to not recognize him there in his Egyptian finery. Joseph decides to take them for a bit of a ride, to test whether they’re still the dickheads who tried to kill him and sold him into slavery; he responds to their groveling with angry fake skepticism - telling me that you are hungry! That could be lies! during a famine, sure. They grovel all the more, and he makes a show of saying they’ve moved him and that he’ll give them what they came for and more. Only he slips one of his golden cups into his younger brother Benjamin’s sack, then angrily stops them as they’re trying to leave, theatrically searching their bags until he finds it in Benjamin’s and demands to lock him up and throw away the key. And the brothers throw themselves at his feet to say there’s no way Benjamin did this, and to please have mercy on him and jail them instead.
This whole bit, the brothers groveling and Joseph putting on this charade, probably taking out some justified anger through scaring them and the power he wields over them, while also legitimately trying to test their characters and whether he can forgive them, is my favorite chunk of this show. “Grovel, Grovel” just has a melody I like, the energy and tension of the music for “Who’s the Thief?” is great (and amusingly reminiscent of the motif I dubbed ‘Authority’ in JCS), the character dynamic of what’s happening is just interesting and more layered than anything preceding it, and it sort of drops to a bit of a more serious and tense feel there in general, the brothers genuinely desperate and Joseph pushing mercilessly to learn who they really are and whether he can ever trust them again…
…and then we launch into “Benjamin Calypso”, a sudden jarringly upbeat number where the brothers continue to argue that there’s no way Benjamin stole the cup and he should take them instead in the most nonchalant, utterly unserious way possible. The mood whiplash is something. After that Joseph reveals who he is and the brothers get like two lines to ask if it’s really him, we explain their father came and joined them in like five more lines, and then it’s time to reprise the early number about Joseph’s vision at the beginning of the story for the finale. There’s no followup on the reunion or what just happened at all!
And I guess that’s fair. The entire rest of the show is deeply silly, exaggerated pastiche where the brothers act like the snidest of villains, and we aren’t supposed to care about them. But one way or another, I find myself honestly wanting a more cathartic resolution here. Judah does offer himself up in exchange for Benjamin, sure, but in that song where he’s otherwise busy jauntily comparing Benjamin’s honesty to coconuts and palm trees because Caribbean music, it’s impossible to take that at all seriously, or actually feel like it means anything about his character or ought to move Joseph to forgive them. And then we don’t get any followup, and all in all it just means it sort of starts to present an actually interesting dramatic situation, in its slightly tongue-in-cheek way, and then goes, “Never mind! Anyway, more pastiche!”
In the original story in Genesis, Joseph was explicitly feeling a lot of emotion during all this - he overhears them talking in Hebrew about their regrets over what they did to Joseph, and from there he multiple times has to excuse himself from everyone’s presence to weep, until he’s fully sure that now his brothers would rather sacrifice their own lives than sell another brother. I honestly think that makes sense, and that it would have worked (and probably worked better) to include more emotionality here. But oh well! It’s a pretty fun silly show with some fun songs in it, and that’s all it really wants to be. What If Joseph But We Took It Seriously is basically what JCS is, and I for one am happy with what we got there.
Evita is quite different, a more ambitious and very much adult-oriented show postdating JCS by several years (like JCS, it was first released as a concept album, in 1976). It’s about the life of Argentinian First Lady Eva Perón. I don’t know much about the real-life history or how accurate it is to the actual woman, but the musical at least depicts her with a sort of blend of deep cynicism and a degree of twisted admiration for her sheer ruthless drive and ability to win influence. After an opening framing device, it starts with her as a working-class country girl forcefully persuading a singer she’s had a fling with to bring her to the big city. Once there, she immediately ditches him to pursue her own ends, freely using sex with men for whatever advantage it would get her until she has a popular radio show. After that, she begins a relationship with future president Juan Perón, with the express intent that it would be mutually beneficial to both of them, by leveraging her popularity with the public for his political endeavors while giving her access to further power and influence through him.
(I’d be surprisingly good for you, she proposes; would you be good for me too? In the Icelandic cast album that I found on Spotify, she just proposes that I’d be a pleasure for you, which misses the entire point. Similarly, his subsequent verse where he agrees that I can understand you perfectly / and I like what I hear, what I see, and knowing me / I would be good for you too is rendered as I feel my heart pounding / and I like your words, this sight, and believe me / I’d do anything for you. According to this translation this was just an average love at first sight thing I guess? He’s not even calling back to her own words or acknowledging that he gets what she’s after? Good job, guys. It’s a pretty good translation in terms of the poetry and phrasing and all, but man do they drop the ball on conveying the correct narrative here. Overall I get the impression from the album cover and song choices that the people behind this Icelandic production thought the core of this story was supposed to be the romance between Eva and Juan? Which I truly don’t think is meant to be the point, at all.)
They go on to campaign and win despite that Perón thinks the whole concept of having to get votes to get into power is needlessly annoying (her radio rhetoric for him involves claiming that he loves you, understands you, is one of you; if not, how could he love me?). Eva becomes massively popular in her home country but doesn’t succeed quite as well on a European tour where the Italians compare her husband to Mussolini; they make a bunch of money ostensibly for charitable causes, some of which winds up back in their pockets through secret Swiss accounts (apparently this bit is historically dubious and that verse is cut from later versions of the show), all while Eva is venerated as a saint; but finally she starts to grow weak with cancer and then dies, her life deliriously flashing before her as she thinks about how in the end her choices were hers and hers alone, and she chose to burn bright and briefly, even if perhaps becoming loved by so many didn’t quite add up to being loved more. It ends with a statement that money was raised to build a monument to Evita, but only the base was ever completed, and her body disappeared for seventeen years. I guess the implication is that the monument was a scam to some degree too?
As a plot it’s a bit unfocused. There isn’t really a proper climax to the storyline here; “they make a bunch of questionable money, she goes on a tour that’s neither successful nor a total disaster, and then she happens to die a while later from cancer” is kind of an anticlimax, lacking any kind of cohesive overall punch that’d make it resonate by itself (and to be clear, that’s usually the case with real events, which is why fiction based on true stories tends to change bits around to make them work better narratively; I get the sense from Joseph and JCS as well that Webber and Rice like to stick very closely to the actual series of events they’re adapting even if presenting them liberally, but that can unfortunately be a bit of a detriment when they’re trying to adapt straight-up recent history instead of a myth). Instead, this musical is more about its themes and the general character study going on.
In particular, our narrator is not Eva herself but “Ché”, a man who may or may not have been modelled after Ché Guevara. For the purposes of the musical he is mainly there as a representative of the general Argentinian working class, telling the story after Eva’s death after becoming disillusioned with her and her husband’s reign. In a way he is Evita’s Judas: the cynical POV character observing the eponymous subject of the show from a critical point of view, who is given a chance to comment on them and their legacy with the benefit of hindsight. Unlike with Judas, though, Ché in the musical is speaking only from that perspective of hindsight, not actually present during the story’s events other than when he briefly reenacts attending Perón’s rallies at the time - mostly he’s an immaterial narrator giving sardonic commentary on the events of the show.
(On Wikipedia and Genius, there are both people insisting that on the original concept album he was definitely meant to be Ché Guevara but that element was removed later when it was staged, and also people insisting that he was never supposed to be Guevara originally until the director of the first stage production decided to dress him like Guevara. On the original concept album he has a whole weird unclear side-plot going on, concurrent with the main events of the show, about his efforts to produce and sell insecticide, which Wikipedia suggests is based on Guevara’s life. As best I can tell the point of this subplot for the album’s narrative is to portray Ché as motivated partly by personal spite/jealousy/misogyny in his criticisms of Eva - towards the end of the first half he gets excited about the prospect that surely if some girl can rise so fast by her efforts in the sack then a man who offers more could do the same, and at a later point, during the song “The Actress Hasn’t Learned the Lines (You’d Like to Hear)”, Eva coldly dismisses him when he tries to sell her on his insecticide, which makes the critique that Eva didn’t do much for the working man sound more like he’s just kind of mad about that. I guess in some sense that adds a layer of ambiguity to it, unreliable narrator and all, but it feels very muddled and mostly just serves to make him seem like a dickish weirdo, undermining his character and everything else he has to say; I’m not surprised this subplot got removed entirely in every version after that. There’s another little bit later on the concept album where Ché declares he used to be loyal to his country, but for all he got out of it he might as well have been loyal to some other country, which I guess is imagining that this spurned Ché Guevara into traveling and instigating revolutions in different countries, giving up on his birth country of Argentina. This seems like pure baseless historical speculation and again is just weird and muddled by the whole portrayal of the insecticide thing, and again got ditched from later versions.)
My favorite song here is probably “Waltz for Eva and Ché”, which I’d argue serves as the real climax of the musical, even though it isn’t even a literal thing that happens. (The aforementioned Icelandic cast album does not include it; in fact, there’s barely any Ché on it generally. Again, it feels like someone thought this was supposed to be a grand romance and this guy constantly criticizing the heroine in the background was just spoiling the mood, I guess.) In this fantasy sequence, Ché finally interacts directly with Eva, challenging her on her corruption and broken promises, while the unfazed Eva staunchly defends her actions and approach in her own pragmatic sort of way:
There is evil Ever around, fundamental System of government quite incidental So what are my chances of honest advances? I’d say low Better to win by admitting my sin Than to lose with a halo
[…]
Allow me to help you slink off to the sidelines And mark your adieu with three cheers But first tell me who'd be delighted If I said I'd take on the world's greatest problems From war to pollution, no hope of solution Even if I lived for one hundred years
As far as Eva is concerned, idealistically trying to work on big problems she’ll never magically solve doesn’t actually make anyone happy, so what’s the point? Ultimately, she doesn’t care about causes or governance or politics per se, really, but she cares a lot about being a figure that inspires the common people of Argentina. And sometimes that involves being as glamorous as possible, living the high life as a working-class girl turned first lady, and sometimes it involves charity work that’s very showy and feelgood even if it doesn’t exactly make the best use of the money, and that’s all kind of the same to her; there’s corruption and evil everywhere in every political system, but at least she made people smile to the point that they chant her name. What else is there, really?
In the final verse of “Waltz for Eva and Ché”, she admits for the first time that her body is falling apart, and she wishes she had more time. And in her final lament, where she speaks of how she thought the more that loved me, the more loved I’d be, she wishes she’d had children of her own. She does have some regrets, in the end. But while she lived she committed so hard to everything she did that she’d just suppress any such thoughts out of existence. And as a result she played the game so well she was possibly the most powerful person in her entire country by the age of twenty-six; who else could say that?
As a character she’s a bit of a puzzle, but definitely intentionally so - I get the sense most of this musical is just Tim Rice trying to figure out what might have been going on in this woman’s head. (And, yeah, this is obviously just an interpretation of a woman who was an actual person, and all my commentary on her is strictly about the character as portrayed in the musical, and not about the actual woman, about whom I know very little.) One is never quite sure how much she means of what she’s saying - a distinctive feature of her character is that she constantly says things with what sounds like total conviction and sincerity that we know are lies, or stretching the truth, or are connected lyrically and musically to times she was definitely lying or stretching the truth. You could definitely argue for an interpretation where she’s doing that in “Waltz for Eva and Ché” too - just unflinchingly saying whatever justifies her actions as if she believes it, even in an imaginary confrontation. But my read is it does seem that one way or another it comes to matter a great deal to her that the working-class people of Argentina love and adore her, in a way I’m not sure much else matters to her. She has some base craving for being loved, and even if in the end all the love and adoration of the masses can’t quite satisfy it, she was still driven to a large extent by that craving.
Class is a running theme here. Eva comes from the working class, as I mentioned, and her family were thrown out at her middle-class father’s funeral, as mentioned offhandedly near the beginning of the show (her mother was his mistress); from there, she seems to have developed a determination to show them, to be better and get further and be more known and adored than any of the people who dismissed her for her origins. She climbs the social ladder relentlessly, but continues to be scorned by Argentina’s upper class no matter what she does, simply because of where she comes from, and for all of the musical’s cynicism about Eva herself, that’s one thing that it definitely sides with her on. Similarly, the powerful woman getting where she is by sleeping her way to the top is kind of a misogynistic trope that I can’t help but side-eye a bit (I suspect it’s probably a pretty direct reflection of the apparently very merciless biography that the musical was supposedly based on, given what I mentioned earlier about the way they tend to stick quite closely to the events they’re adapting, but nonetheless), but at the same time the sexism and misogyny that Eva faces wherever she goes are also a recurring theme, both from the upper class, in Europe, and from the soldiers of the Argentine Army who think she should just shut up and spread her legs. Eva’s unrelenting defiance in the face of this adversity and refusal to bow to it, and continuing success despite that, is ultimately something I feel the story kind of admires in her, in spite of the many ways it’s harshly critical of her. She saw something she wanted, and she simply did whatever she had to do to get it in her not very advantageous situation as a woman in the 1940s, and successfully made it to the top that way despite being disparaged and scorned at every turn, without ever giving in.
So that’s the overall picture I get of her character here: the formative experience of being treated as lesser and unworthy at her own father’s funeral spurned this woman into obsessive unflinching determination to make it in the biggest way possible and earn the public’s love and adoration, at whatever cost, with very little regard to what she had to do or enable to get there, and while the deepest core of that drive may have ultimately been a longing for more personal love and acceptance, she channeled it into an incredibly successful drive to be loved by her people. For all its flaws and questionable elements I do think it’s an interesting character study, hence the rambling; I’m often drawn to characters whose actions might seem puzzling at a glance but have a coherent core driving them that makes the character click if you think about it, and while Eva doesn’t press my personal character buttons super hard otherwise, I think she’s definitely an example of that.
We watched the 1996 movie based on Evita, too. It leans away from the Ché Guevara thing, with Antonio Banderas portraying Ché as simply an everyman (he gets whumped a little bit, which was fun). The performances are good overall, and it’s more faithful than I was expecting; aside from lyrical tweaks and adding a song that’s incorporated into later stage productions as well, the main notable deviation is that “Another Suitcase in Another Hall”, a song originally sung by Perón’s mistress (a one-scene wonder), is moved earlier to be sung by Eva as Augustin Magaldi (the singer who brought her to Buenos Aires) ditches her, and is only briefly echoed later by the mistress. This is a significant shift because originally Magaldi is firmly meant to be someone Eva is simply using for her own ends and immediately ditches when she’s made it to Buenos Aires with him, while in the film it tries to make this a sympathetic moment for Eva, and thus implies she actually did naïvely love Magaldi and think they’d stay together - starkly different from her original characterization, where her proclamation that Would I have done what I did if I didn’t think, if I didn’t know, that we would stay together? is one of the establishing moments of that thing where she states things with total conviction that are shown to be not even a little bit true.
I can imagine three reasons for this change. One, they thought having another actress playing a bit character sing this famous solo song before never appearing again would just feel weird in a film, which is valid; it definitely does feel like a storytelling choice that happens in musicals but really goes against what anyone would expect in film. Two, they just wanted to give the more famous actress the song (Eva is played by Madonna). And/or three, they wanted Eva to be more sympathetic and Magaldi less so, which I can also understand, particularly given she is explicitly fifteen years old at the time and “musician who sleeps with a fifteen-year-old girl is the one being used and manipulated actually” is undeniably a bit hmm. But it kind of contradicts the rest of how it all plays out a bit - I didn’t really get the sense from the lead-up in the movie that she actually loved Magaldi or wanted anything from him other than the ticket to the city, and in general Eva is still just as ruthless! All in all, I sort of get the change, and it creates sort of a neat parallel where Eva inflicts the same humiliation on this other girl that she’d suffered herself back when she had nothing, but I’m not sure they entirely pulled it off in a way that makes sense.
I think the film also suffers from a sense that many shots are simply filling time as they want the music to play for exactly as many bars as originally written; the pacing feels glacial a lot of the time as a result. I wasn’t quite devoting my full attention to the Joseph movie so it’s hard to entirely have an idea of how it compares in that regard, but I feel like that one did this more successfully, with more energetic shots and staging.
I’ve come to feel increasingly that musicals are just quite hard to film well; Joseph really leans into being super stylized and framed as a sort of heightened version of a stage production, which is one way that I think can work pretty well, but it’s just a lot easier to get restless watching a film than actors on stage, and if you’ve got a song playing and cut to different shots while it’s happening, those shots really need to be interesting and hold the viewer’s attention, rather than just arbitrary filler. In something stylized along the lines of a stage production, you can sometimes get away with doing that with cool choreography and spectacle, but if you’re going for something more grounded and realistic, like Evita, you need to figure out how to make interesting, meaningful shots out of the moments where a song is having an instrumental interlude or repeating a verse or a chorus (assuming you don’t simply cut those bits out of the song), and that’s just a lot harder than saying it.
(Incidentally, we also watched the 2021 West Side Story film recently, and I think Spielberg absolutely nailed doing this in an overall realistically styled and toned film - it does feature people doing group dance choreography with perfect seriousness as if it’s a normal thing to do, but both there and in other songs it carefully makes sure the characters are always doing something, with a flowing character dynamic that maintains a sense that something is happening and keeps it from feeling like we’re filling space or waiting for the song to be done. Tricky thing to do, but absolutely possible!)
All in all, neither Joseph nor Evita are making it onto my favorite musicals list, but they’re interesting in their own very different ways, and I enjoyed diving into them and rambling a bit. Musical rambling, I have missed thee.

eyyy how'd you get so good at drawing
but no for real, how you draw portraits is amazing. I adore the way you're able to suggest things without actually defining features super well. Being able to do that clearly shows mastery in knowing how to draw people's faces and that is very impressive. I can tell you've done a lot of work to get to this skill level!
But seriously, can we the people get some tips on how to get to this level? Any tips? Thanks so much! Keep on creating!
hey, thank you so much! I love drawing people and hearing such words is the most pleasant thing ever… As it happens, I’ve been thinking on that issue for some time already (not on getting better at drawing peoples’ faces particularly but on how to increase all drawing skills in general) and I’m not really sure that I’ve got a decent answer right now (but I think that you can somehow read others’ minds, heh)
things that I’ve already figured out:
your perfectionism is your worst enemy. You don’t have to draw all those faces in detail, it’s not even interesting to do sometimes — all that you need is an energy burst, a f e e l i n g that you can transmit to others through drawings and through the process of drawing itself. It means that you need to focus only on the things that are important in that particular moment  — it could be arms that you’re going to neglect at that point, at another point you will harshly draw the eyes and only vaguely outline the mouth.
never stop experimenting. It’s the most important and at the same time probably the most cliché thing to say (if we don’t count ‘practice more’). You always need to be in the state of search for something more. My last discovery was that there are plenty of different ways to hold a pencil, not just how we’ve been taught at school. When you change the position of your arm your point of view is also changing. This kind of stress makes you feel really uncomfortable at first but then you find yourself ready to find other ways to solve these problems (btw, I suppose this method won’t work with a stylus  for digital tablets although I’ve never tried) 2.1 live sketching (when you draw not from your head or photos but from real people/things you see around you) is actually very good — people are usually very agile (of course they are — they’re alive), they won’t keep one pose for ages so you’ll have probably 2-5 minutes to make a sketch, which is perfectly enough to kill your perfectionism and widen your drawing comfort zone at the same time. (be careful in cafes! people tend to be suspicious when you take out your sketchbook or, for example, glasses, in my case) It’s also helpful for studying perspective. If you can’t help but use references, try using a timer. There’s a cool website where you can practice sketching poses and where you only have a few minutes for each pose (something like quick-poses-dot-com)
observe more things/people around you, as well as other artists’ works, that goes without saying;
practice more (: I’m sorry I know that’s a bit annoying but it’s true. Don’t think that somehow you can be transported in the state when all your drawings are incredibly beautiful (unique and exquisite, as insta-scammers would say) — that doesn’t happen. You’ll always have a ratio: some shitty paintings to one-two decent or beautiful ones. The percentage of drawings-you-wish-you’ve-never-drawn will get lower, but won’t totally disappear, at least I don’t think so. So no need to be afraid, accept the possibility of never-ending mistakes and just do your thing, keep at it. There are plenty of reasons to draw in life.
phew, I hope I was at least a little bit helpful! still trying to comprehend all of this myself. and thank you and thank you again!

TY 4 tagging me @markodragic !
Last Song: First Date by James Shayfer. I have a playlist dedicated to my Durge and this song actually inspired me making him. A lot of James Shayfer pops up on there lol. I plan to make a piece with him based off the song … eventually
Favorite Color: All colors are specials in their own way but that being said, dark or dull greens and purples go hard.
Currently Watching: Not currently watching anything but last watched the new Fionna and Cake stuff. Mostly watched it cause I had time to kill and I loved Fionna and Cake when she was first introduced when I was little lol
Last Movie: I think the last movie I watched was Across the Spiderverse when it was out in theaters with one of my dorm mates! (she's an animation major so she's legally required to watch it lol)
Currently Reading: Not reading anything atm. Last book I tried to read was a couple months ago was Gideon the Ninth. Only got to the first few chapters. I love fantasy but I've learned I hate reading it lol. I can imagine my own fantastical stuff but my brain sucks at imagining other peoples worlds lol. Been really wanting for months to try and read Stone Butch Blues though. I'll read that whenever school gives us a break maybe lol.
Sweet/Spicy/Savory: Sweet and savory are very closely tied but I'd say savory. Give me a jar of pickles I'll scarf that shit down like a horse eating carrots or whatever.
Relationship Status: Single. to my knowledge no one's ever tried to shoot their shot. Either that or I'm too stupid to realize. They hate me for my boring, reserved energy yet awkward and peculiar mannerisms …
Current Obsession: Baulder's Gate 3 I'm so sorry to ppl sick of it on their dash lol. Also my own world building but I'm … not going to post that … unless people start asking me about it ... then maybe.
Last Thing I Googled: "cow face" and "cow skull". had time to kill in class so I tried to draw cows cause whenever I've tried to draw them from memory they end up looking more dog like than I care to like.
Currently Working On: Besides school work I'm trying to solidify all the gods and Pantheons of a world I've been working on since late high school. It's weird and confusing, I'm making little mood/image boards of sorts so I can narrow down their designs, aesthetics, vibes, etc. Most I'll explain is that the ones I'm working on all the Gods are based off different artistic mediums (god of clay and pottery, god of glassblowing/stained glass /blacksmithing, god of the 2D and cave art, god of destruction/experimental/multi media , gods of leather/weaving/fashion, gods of music and sound, etc etc ) (two of my projs (one i just finished and one currently) for school are environments based off my world building lol)
