The Golden Globes is a demoralised brand, voted for and organised by people who, as Tina Fey once joked, operate out of “the back booth of a French McDonald’s”. Still, we have last week’s 80th awards show to thank for Jennifer Coolidge, winner of best supporting actress for her role in The White Lotus, rambling through a speech as hilarious as anything Mike White has ever written for her. Prior to the success of her role as Tanya McQuoid (“Mc-Kwaaaad”), Coolidge – breathless on stage – characterised her acting career as one that had been “fizzled out by life”. Her triumph at the age of 61 isn’t the kind Hollywood often supports. It was an uplifting, joyful spectacle.
It was also a moment of drama the unlikeliness of which underscored the various obstacles Coolidge had to clear to get there. After the awards, the most shared photo of Coolidge was one in which she struck a friendly pose with Jean Smart, who won best actress in a musical/comedy series at the Globes last year for her role in Hacks, and who, at 71, is enjoying an even more unlikely renaissance. It has been stated so often as to be tedious, but that any female actor north of 50 – let alone 60, or my god, 70 – can float back into public consciousness in a form other than the daffy Betty White model, is a rare enough phenomenon to supercharge the celebration.
For those who watch a lot of British TV, Coolidge’s win felt particularly satisfying, perhaps, coinciding as it did with the return of Sarah Lancashire in Happy Valley, a performance that encourages one to conclude that TV shows should be peopled exclusively by middle-aged women (in high-vis jackets). The vibe that animates Lancashire’s performance is one we saw displayed by Coolidge; that is, one redolent of someone who cares deeply and sincerely about her work and her peers, while – I don’t know how either of them pulls this off – assuming a position of being fully beyond giving a shite about any of it.
To this end, the actor broke a bunch of rules about what you do and don’t say in public at awards dos. Over the last few decades, Coolidge’s career has been made up of a patchwork of small roles that were rarely equal to her talent. She had a small part in two episodes of Glee; she had cameos in the comedy sketch show, Inside Amy Schumer; she made an appearance in three episodes of Nip/Tuck. Or, as she put it last Tuesday night, “there were like five people that kept me going for, like, 20 years with these little jobs” – an honest admission of something to which her peers in Hollywood avoid reference to with the fervour of medieval superstition: failure. As Brad Pitt gurned his slightly baffled appreciation from the front row, Coolidge talked, with brilliant, breathy incredulity, about never being invited to parties in her neighbourhood. One upshot of her recent success, she said, was that “my neighbours are speaking to me, things like that”.
The charm of this performance was rooted in what felt like Coolidge’s off-the-cuff stream of consciousness, which may, of course, be just another level of her acting skill. But it’s very weird to watch something as cynical and debased as the Golden Globes and find oneself genuinely moved. It wasn’t only Coolidge’s unanticipated rise, but her tribute to White, creator of The White Lotus and a man who, if Ryan Murphy espouses a certain kind of Hollywood nightmare personality, seems, even after his success, still to embody the homespun decency of Mr Schneebly (White’s role in School of Rock). “He is worried about the world,” said Coolidge, as White got all teary. “He’s worried about people; he’s worried about friends of his that aren’t doing well. He’s worried about animals, all of that.” These moments at awards shows are usually unbearably fake, but I believed her.
There was so much else to love. Coolidge’s reference to the giant hook pulling her off stage at the Emmys (“I thought it left when vaudeville ended”); her early dreams to “be queen of Monaco, even though someone else did it”. Above all, what one assumes was her unintentional rebuke to all the actors a third of her age and half her size squinting up at her with appreciation and puzzlement.

Kinktober Day 12 FORMAL WEAR/ BODY WORSHIP
Dewey Finn x Reader smut
Tags: 18+ | 1.7k words | you're engaged, small angst, bad joke, self consciousness, male body worship, so many kisses guys, lipstick smears, unprotected sex, pulling out
AN: I fucking got so far into this and said “WHY THE FUCK DIDN’T I DO BEETLEJUICE FOR THIS”
You never expected to see the day. Dewey Finn in shorts made for a child's uniform? Sure. Dewey Finn in a band t-shirt and old jeans? Duh. You had accepted his engagement proposal fully aware that he would probably meet you at the altar in a zipper hoodie and sneakers.
And yet here he is before your very eyes at a fancy dinner to celebrate Ms. Mullins' award in genuine black tie wear. Every time you look away from him, you feel like you simply imagined it, but then you turn back and see him and he's actually wearing a nice, fitted black and white suit and tie.
"Are you ok?" Dewey tried to measure your temperature by putting the back of his hand to your forehead, smiling. "You look like you've seen a ghost."
You chirp, "Have you seen what you're wearing? I think hell is freezing over."
You gesture with your glass of wine at his attire and he smirks. "Ooooh, your original home is cold! Do you want my jacket, babe?"
"Fuuuuck yooouuu, Finn," you stage-whisper.
Dewey spreads his arms out wide. "You are more than welcome to! You put a ring on it after all."
Someone cleared their throat and you jumped– caught under the watchful eye of Rose Mullins herself. You sputtered an apology and dragged Dewey over to Ned Schneebly so he would have someone to keep him somewhat appropriate while you talk to other teachers from your school.
A couple hours later you overhear a tipsy conversation they're having. "I can't believe you wore an actual suit! It looks good on you, man."
Dewey blew a raspberry. "Come on, this is so not me, Ned! I mean look at me, man– I used to be somebody. A rockstar on the rise and now I'm in a real relationship with a teaching gig and soon to be married.
"Can you imagine? Me! Married! I'm falling apart," you hear him say.
Ned scoffs loudly. "What are you talking about, man? You've got so much good going on!"
"I know, it's crazy!"
You're… well, you're not sure how to interpret Dewey's revelations. And you had your back to each other so he probably doesn't even know you heard him. The more you get to thinking about it the more angry and nervous you become.
Did Dewey not want to be marrying you? But he asked!
Was it just out of obligation? Was he just afraid that if he didn't, you would leave him? You thought he loved you and his job but it sounded like he was complaining…
You let it boil and simmer for the rest of the night, ignoring him when he asked you questions and not responding to his attempts to joke around. You made him drive so you could attempt to sleep and see if that made you feel better, but all it did was give you a nightmare about being 50 and miserably married.
"Hey," Dewey pokes you in the ribs after you both got out of the car, "what's gotten into you?"
You ignored him all the way up to your bedroom while he fired off at the mouth as per usual. By the time you reached the bedroom he had exhausted his supply of gags and called your name worriedly.
"Hey, seriously: what's wrong?"
You plop yourself on the end of the bed to take your shoes off, clearly pouting despite your efforts. "Nothing."
Dewey hums. "Oh it's nothing, that's why you've been avoiding me all night."
"Just drop it, Dew, I'm not in the mood."
"I can't!" You glare at him and he flounders around for words until: "babe if I leave it, you're not going to want to talk about it at all, and then the next time we have an argument, it's gonna come back with a vengeance."
… ok, so you did do that once or twice before…
Dewey waited. “Ok? What did you hear?”
You sigh and flop your head on your pillows, earrings in hand and feet aching. "I just… I heard you…"
“Marriage isn’t you.” You glared at him. ‘You told Ned marriage wasn’t ‘you.’ So what, I’m a burden now?”
“H-wha-hat?,” Dewey laughed, “what are you talking about? AAAH–”
Dewey ducked as a shoe flew at him. “What? What??”
“Dewey Finn, if you don’t want to marry me, why did you freaking propose?”
All of the goofiness was sapped out of the air. Dewey’s face dropped and he really looked at you now. He sighed and kicked his shoes off and sat on your side of the bed, somber.
“I don’t know how to tell you I love you more than I already have,” he starts, then back peddles. “What I mean is… babe, what you heard was just a joke.”
He looks to you and freezes under your deeply unamused stare. “Uh… Ned didn’t find it funny either, soooo I guess you could say it was in pretty poor taste.
“Listen babe,” Dewey scoots closer and takes your hand. “You’re on the right track: if I didn’t want to marry you, I wouldn’t be! But I am so, you know, I do! I love you, babe, honestly.”
He turns his head and gives you big puppy dog eyes. “I just… I just…”
Being cute was easier than being real. Dewey plants fat, wet kisses on the back of your hand. He sighs and makes you scoot over to lay down on the bed next to you. “I don’t know why I… I guess I just never imagined anybody would want to shackle themselves to a guy who looks like me. Or even the other way around– I never imagined I’d be the type of guy to settle down, you know?”
You hadn't considered it before. Sometimes people who rail against 'the institution of marriage' are also people who never got the chance to believe they could love or be loved that way… hang on–
A thought interrupted you– "I thought you said 'who could love a guy like me.' What's this about 'who could love a guy who looks like me' business?"
You look at him for an answer and he raises an eyebrow at you. He thinks you're not serious but when you don't back track he scoffs. Dewey shows you what he means by patting his belly firmly and making it jiggle.
"I guess I didn't realize you were self conscious about that," you wondered aloud.
"I am not," he pouts. "I'm fat, that's all. Nobody wants a fat guy if they can help it or– or do better."
You shrug. "Ok so you're fat– it's not a bad word. It doesn't have to be a bad word. And I can assure you, this?" You pat his stomach. "This is very good to me."
That's how you end up with him trembling that night, hands balled into fists at his side trying to obey your no touch command and covered in hickeys and love bites.
It took an hour to undress him fully because for every piece of cloth you removed from his body you showered him in kisses and praise, announcing all your favorite things about him. He felt silly when you were fiddling with his bowtie, but his arousal skyrocketed with every brush of your hand over what piece you would take next and what you would say next.
It was embarrassing. It was sexy. And it filled him to the brim with warmth at how passionate you are about him and his body. It's not a 'despite your flaws' kind of love, it's included.
He's laying on his back and naked when you finally come back to worshipping his belly. His hard member is so close but you ignore it in favor of peppering his pooch with refreshed lipstick. Dewey has to put his hands up by his head to stop himself from stopping you.
It's like it stings. It stings to have anyone openly notice his stomach but to know you do it out of love, your own arousal and interest, that sting is accompanied by a deep pleasure.
"Please, please," Dewey swallows, "stop teasing, baby, please."
"Since you asked so nicely…"
You were planning to suck his dick but you're dripping and you need him just as much as he needs you right now. You fit your thighs on the outside of his, almost getting bucked off balance as he realizes oh shit, you're really done teasing and you sink down onto him with a gratuitous sigh.
When your hips are pressed flush together, Dewey rocks his to feel something– anything. It's like you were made for each other. He's not going to last and frankly neither are you. His fingers dig into the flesh of your ass and push and pull to get you to work.
"Come on baby," he says. "It's all yours. Take it."
God he looks like a dream. You start to ride him at a steady pace and watch his eyes flutter for a moment. His hair's a fluffy mess, lip swollen from being bitten, stomach arms and chest littered with lipstick marks. It's not long before he's glistening with sweat and his hips are meeting yours to push you both closer to the edge.
"M close," you grip his shoulders and ride him harder, "fuck! Dewey."
"Almost…" Your fiancée catches your hips in a bruising grip to gain back some of the control. He knows when you come you'll slam back down and he'll have no choice but to come inside you. He pulls you towards him, making you bend and he captures a nipple in his mouth and drives his hips up, up, up until he feels you clamp down with a scream.
You're too much and he barely pulls out before he's coming too. His pearly ejaculate paints your lower lips, your ass, and the last of it paints his own stomach.
You're panting together in the moonlight, hugging each other fiercely to try and make the moment last just a little longer. In this crazy, fucked up world you managed to find your person and god help the world you should ever be parted again.

A loser of an asshole, stuck in his ways, ends up in charge of teenagers. Even if, by all accounts, it doesn't make sense to let this guy anywhere near kids (not in a creepy way, he's just a bad influence). But miracle of miracles, despite the child endagerment, he ends up having a net positive influence on the kids. And they improve him, too.
Was I talking about "Mr. Schneebly", Eikichi Onizuka, or Johnny Lawrence?

Imperfect and inhuman, are we?
Fandom: School of Rock: The Musical (AU Verse) Chapters: 2/? Pairing: Dewey Finn x OC (Magdalena Newton) The Players: Dewey Finn, Magdalena Newton, Ned Schneebly, The School of Rock Students Word Count: 1,779 Warnings: M for Future Things
Notes: Oh yeah, this was a thing I was doing.
Chapter 2 - Evening - Serenade
It was that near perfect sort of weather outside: the kind where it was cool enough to open all the windows, but not cold enough to warrant breaking out the portable heater and pointing directly at his feet. Instead of shutting himself away in the makeshift “soundproof” corner of his apartment, Dewey decided to take his personal jam session out onto the fire escape.
He had long since chased away the neighbors who took issue with his might tributes to the rock gods, so he wasn’t too concerned with having the police called on him.
Again.
Noise complaints carried expensive ass tickets.
Besides, using an acoustic guitar dampened the noise enough to satisfy the holdout residents around the building.
“Why is this G sounding like an A? Are you out of tune- fuck!” He mumbled though the impromptu song, angrily adjusting the strings. “I thought I fixed you when the humidity changed.”
“I don’t know that song,” a voice from the alleyway below called up to him. “Play Freebird.”
Startled, Dewey nearly fell off the windowsill onto the harsh, metal grating of the fire escape. Setting he guitar -gently- on the floor of the apartment, he climbed outside, peering down over the shaky railing to the ground below.
Looking ever so much the small, porcelain doll from such a height, he spotted a familiar woman wrapped in a winter white coat. Her dark hair spilled over one shoulder onto the pristine fabric, reminding him of one of those ink blot tests the Horace Green resident counselor would give the faculty every month.
She waved up to him, but it was hard to read her expression from such a distance. He could only assume she was in a good mood from her cheeky joke about requested another song. Then again, he had yet to see her in a bad mood.
Dewey was surprised -in the very best way- to see her so early in the evening. Magdalena had a habit of catching him as he arrived home from late night practice; it was uncanny how she always seemed to sneak up on him, barely making a sound as she approached him on the sidewalk. Normally, he could hear a pin drop from six feet away, but she was something else.
They would exchange pleasantries before she would continue her trek down the sidewalk toward the city proper, “to work” as she explained. She made no attempt to elaborate on what sort of job started so late at night; so, he guessed it was something medical.
Or she was a classy hooker.
Didn’t much bother him either way.
“Hey, Snow White!” Dewey called down to her, “Hold on, I’ll be right down.”
He near leapt back into his apartment, scrambling around on all fours, picking through various piles of laundry on the floor. They were organized – in a way – by the level of wear they received throughout the week. Obviously, something on the fresher side was the goal; it would be mortifying to pick out a shirt that had food stains or some other sign of his lack of forethought to hit the laundromat last week.
Magdalena always looked like a million bucks striking down that grimy sidewalk, whereas he looked like he rolled around a thrift store clothing bin.
He had gotten most of his wardrobe from thrifting, but she didn’t need to know.
“Aaaah – I’ll be right down… gimme just another minute.” He grabbed a sweater vest from under his bed, jamming it over his head as he yelled toward the window. “I don’t want you being late… for… whatever you would be late for!”
Struggling with the vest, as he had somehow managed to slip his head through an arm hole, he failed to notice the woman sitting politely outside the window.
Magdalena watching him angrily try and right himself; amused that he was taking such great pains to dress nicely for her sudden arrival. Frankly, what he already had on was enough for her, as she enjoyed seeing him so vulnerable?
No, casual was a better choice. Sometimes the nuance escaped her.
“No need to shout, Mr. Finn.” Magdalena finally announced herself, wanting to end his struggles. “I can hear you perfectly well.”
Dewey stopped midway removing the vest, dropping the garment to the ground, and pulling his t-shirt down over his stomach. It had ridden upward in his haste, exposing his midsection entirely. A bright blush spread across his cheeks, noting the fact she had been starting directly at the exposed pudge of his belly. Was it because of the pudge? It was the pudge, he concluded, her staring at him for any other reason was making a beeline for cheesy porn fantasy territory.
“What- how did you get up here?” He asked, blinking slowly.
Magdalena tilted her head, mirroring is blink, “The stairs.”
“Well, yeah duh the stairs, I meant like how you got up here so fast. There are like fifty steps up to this floor-” He sat on the windowsill across from her.
“Fifty-three steps.” She corrected him gently, brushing some stray hair behind her ear.
“How do you- “Dewey began.
“I counted.” Magdalena finished for him. “I passed all of my arithmetic courses some years ago, Mr. Finn, as I’m sure you have.”
Pausing, he ran a hand through his mess of hair, trying to smooth down his perpetual bedhead fluff. Magdalena’s hand twitched with the impulse to run her fingers through his hair, wondering if it would be as soft as it looked against her sensitive skin. It wouldn’t have been too hard to just reach over a little, just for a brief moment to keep that sensation as a memory.
Two things kept her impulse in check: one, social convention would frown upon such a familiar gesture of affection towards a man she hadn’t yet spoke a thousand words to altogether. Two; she dared not cross the threshold between the fire escape and his apartment.
Fire escapes were public, specifically owned apartments were not.
“I… sound like a complete jackass when I talk to you. I’m usually better? Sometimes. Most times. Promise. Swear on my vinyl collection; may it melt if I’m lying.” Dewey scratched the back of his neck nervously.
Shrugging, she gave him a small, reassuring smile, “Well, I don’t know anyone personally to compare your behaviors with, but I’m hardly offended by what you say.
Dewey looked about to cry, which she couldn’t be sure if it were because of her response, or the chill in the weather. He leaned forward, elbow on his knees, with his chin in his hand. The fact that his upper body was now technically beyond the windowsill was not lost on her, her eyes flicking down to calculate the angle between his head and the window frame.
He sighed heavily, taking note of her impeccable posture, “You’re so… polite, ya know that? Like those women in fancy drama movies on PBS. Sitting around waiting to marry some fancy lord or whatever. Why are you up here talking to me anyway?”
“Oh, well, shouting from the street would be grossly inappropriate. My mother, she always says, ‘Magda’” She deepened her accent, hunching slightly, “ ‘If they cannot be close enough to hear you speaking softly, they aren’t worthy of hearing what you have to say in the first place.’”
“So, you came up here because you wanted me to hear you better?” Dewey tried to piece what he could through the thick, eastern European accent she had donned. “I would have come down! Now you’ll get that coat all covered in rust and I’m gonna feel bad about it. And that’s gonna make me break out the wallet so you can get it dry cleaned, because I need to be a gentleman.”
Magdalena laughed, covering her mouth with the back of her hand, “I can get it washed, no charity required. It’s just a coat; but a Mr. Finn is unique, so I will gladly sacrifice something that can be replaced.”
The rocker stared at her, his jaw a little slack, “…are you real?”
“The eternal question plaguing the greatest minds in history.” She played with the ends of her inky hair, twisting it around her fingers, “Maybe. Maybe not. In this instance of sitting with you, yes, we are real in relation to each other. Then again, when I leave, you might not exist until I come back. Or vice-versa.”
“Terrifying,” He replied, shaking his head sadly.
Seizing the opportunity, she reached over with her free hand, patting his shoulder softly, “Quite; but I could always be wrong, Mr. Finn.”
Dewey reached upward, placing his larger hand upon hers, frowning when he felt how cold she felt, “Hey, why didn’t you tell me you were freezing? Here.”
Before she could stop him, he took hold of both her hands, pulling them inside the warmth of the apartment, rubbing them between his own hands to generate heat. Magdalena’s arms felt like their were being pulled through a nest of razor wire, her very sinew feeling as if it were being peeled back from her muscles.
She steeled her expression, biting her tongue to keep from screeching in pain from his selfless gesture, trembling head to toe with the effort. He thankfully didn’t notice her discomfort, cupping his hands around hers and puffing warm breaths against her cold skin. What should have been a tender, friendly gesture was being overridden by her compulsion to stay outside. His permission needed to be verbal, not physical. Words were powerful things in her experience.
Her head was pounding, her vision growing blurry with the pain streaking through her veins like acid. Faintly, she could feel a small drop of blood leaking out from her nose, trickling down her to her lip, and falling onto her lap.
Dewey must have taken his attention away from her hands, his eyes growing wide as he let her go, “You’re bleeding? Are you okay? Snow?”
The woman pulled her hands toward her body, one of them going up to try and hide her bloody nose, “Oh! I’m… forgive me, it happens occasionally. Not your fault!”
The moment her hands were outside the threshold of the window, her body felt perfectly normal. No pain, no throbbing headache. Just as she had been moments before.
“Allergy medication. Sometimes with the dry weather… ah, still, I apologize for the gruesome interruption.” She took a handkerchief out of her coat pocket, wiping away the blood as best she could. “Did I get it all? Less hideous?”
Leaning forward, Dewey pretended to examine her face, struggling to keep a stern expression, “Well, less hideous than you usually are, so it’s a start. Might take a little more work to get you from hideous to tolerable.”
Magdalena pouted, stuffing the handkerchief back into her pocket, “I’ll enlist your help to make sure I’m daresay presentable in the future. Goodnight, Mr. Finn, I expect a better song choice tomorrow.”

A bunch of clips from the opening night of Sweeney Todd in Manila! Shot 3rd row at the balcony. I shot more but they were too zoomed in that they’re more likely to be considered audio so I decided not to include them. I was very near the usher and they were really strict. The phone was in my jacket pocket so I couldn’t see anything and I was scared of getting caught, so a lot is very zoomed and I’m really sorry about that. I absolutely loved the set, it was reimagined into a more modern almost gangster like setting. Shot in 4k on my phone. Please gift out to anyone who asks. Quiet Hours 2: The Angstening
Quiet Hours
Angst, voyeurism, no happy ending/ambiguous ending, SMUT
Dewey Finn x Reader (Fem)
Beetlejuice x Reader (Fem)
Summary: Dewey Finn realizes he messed up, and continues to mess up.
Dewey Finn was no stranger to screw-ups. It was a running theme in his life, though most of the time he did manage to come out on top. With his luck it was very All-Or-Nothing; he either won or he lost. When he was in high school he met Ned Schneebly and started Death Maggot, that was a win. When they played the school talent show, that was a loss. Getting into community college after high school was a win, but dropping out had been a loss. Moving in with Ned was a win, but when he started dating Patty, that was one of the biggest losses.
The past year had been the biggest in terms of winning and losing. Last year he had been at his lowest; he lost his job, his band, his self-esteem and thought he would lose his best friend and a place to live. Then things turned around, he won so much more than he ever thought he deserved. He landed a job that he never considered but felt so fulfilling that he felt like he found his calling. He became part of a new band that rocked harder than any band he’d ever played with. His friendship with Ned was stronger than ever, even Patty seemed to have a begrudging respect for him now. He started dating again. Rose Mullens was so out of his league, she might as well have been playing a completely different sport.
And then he met you. It was karaoke night at a local bar, and when he saw you on stage singing your heart out, he knew he had to talk to you. The friendship between you to was nearly instant, each of you excitedly asking questions about the other’s music. As the months passed and you two became closer, he felt as easy around you as he did around Ned. No one else listened to him like you did, no one else checked up on him in the same way. Ned was his brother, but as the months passed he knew that you were special.
Who else would have stayed with him for a week after Rose broke up with him? Who else would have given him a spare key for whenever he needed to get away from everything? Who else would have dragged him out of bed and surprised him with a concert at a local bar? Ned was a good friend, but you always managed to go above and beyond for him. Your friendship meant the world to Dewey, and he never wanted to screw that up.
But this was reality, and reality said that Dewey had it good for too long.
When Dewey woke up the next morning, and you weren’t there he didn’t think much of it. He was used to being alone at your place. You had no problems leaving him alone in your small apartment, and it wasn’t the first time he had crashed with you after a drunk night. It had been the first time that you two had slept in the same bed together, usually he passed out on the couch. Another first was the sticky feeling in his boxers when he woke up.
It took a moment for him to remember what had caused the reaction. He shifted to sit up as thoughts of his dream last night passed through his hungover brain. There wasn’t much that he remembered, only a pair of amazing breasts and the feeling of his face against his ex-girlfriends hair as they had sex. The reminder of it caused him to get half-hard again and he shook his head, trying to snap out of it. He felt dirty having had that dream in your bed when you were right there next to him. He hoped he didn’t do anything inappropriate last night.
Still, his heart sank back in his chest as he thought of Rose. He was thankful that the break-up had happened at the end of the school year. That would give him at least 3 months to try and get over her before it was back to seeing her everyday. Right now though, the wound was still fresh and he reached for his phone pulling up your name in the contacts list.
“I had a sex dream about her... I miss Rose.” he typed. The response was almost instant.
“I know, I’m sorry.”
He really was an idiot looking back on everything.
As present as you had been in those first few weeks of the break-up, you were just as distant now. Dewey didn’t blame you, after everything you had done there were other things you needed to do. You had a life outside of him, and he knew it. He knew that you couldn’t always drop everything and run to his side every time his thoughts started to become too much.
Still, there was something different now. In the time you two had known each other, there had been hours on the phone, talking and texting each other. It had been like you two had been having one long conversation since you two met so many months ago. Very rarely were you two not talking, but now... you weren’t there. You had taken a huge step back and you didn’t know why. He still heard from you every once in a while, still keeping each other up to date but...
Dewey couldn’t put a finger on it.
It wasn’t until he got a message nearly three weeks later that he put the pieces together.
“I’m going on a date on Friday!”
Dewey had never seen you date before. In the months that he’d known you, you never once expressed interest in dating anyone. Though he felt happy for you in a way, there was something sad about it to him as well. He’d hope the two of you would stay single and keep each other company. But he guessed that was just one more loss for him. The hits really did just keep coming.
“Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do!” he texted back.
The words felt empty as he hit send.
He missed you. He missed you and it was driving him crazy that you weren’t there.
Friday came and something in him snapped. He grabbed the key that you had given him so long ago and made his way to your apartment. Dewey needed to see you, to talk to you, to make sure things really were alright between you two.
It was still fairly early in the afternoon when he let himself in, and was surprised that you weren’t home. He wondered if you had already left on your date, and thought about going home, but not before heading into your room to use the toilet.
As he was just about to leave your room, he heard the door open and close and voices coming from the living room. Fuck, you had brought your date here?! It looked like the two of you were just now coming back home. Still, curiosity got the better of him and he peaked out the door, curious about the man you had brought back.
The man was a little taller than Dewey, with messy green and brown hair and wearing stripes everywhere. The word “gremlin” popped into his head, looking at the strange man you had invited into your home. Was this guy really your type?
You and your date sat on the couch, facing each other. From here it was easy for Dewey to watch what was going on. He told himself that he should leave, escape out the window and use the fire escape to make an exit but he couldn’t. Some sick part of him wanted to see where this was going- for your safety of course! This was all about your safety and your safety alone. This guys was clearly kind of weird and he was just looking out for you! Who cared if he’d seen weirder looking guys in his old band days?
“So, theater huh?” you asked your date, a smile on your lips.
“I tend to dabble. I do love me a good musical.” the man replied.
“Me too!” you replied excitedly. “Favorite and least favorite?”
“Favorite, gotta go with Repo the Genetic opera.” he said. “I have a thing for shows about death.”
“Oh, I love that one!” your date seemed pleased.
“Least favorite, it’s a dead tie between The Music Man and Brigadoon.”
“FUCK Brigadoon!” you laughed in delight.
A weird feeling spread through Dewey. You and him used to talk about music all the time, how come you’d never brought up that you like musicals? As he watched the two of you enthusiastically talk about different shows, he felt something in the pit of his stomach. It almost felt like-
“Jealous?” the man asked, snapping Dewey back into reality. He had zoned out and that single word made him jump. Him? Jealous? Of what?
“Very.” you nodded. “I haven’t had sex in... weeks.” you hesitated slightly at the word and Dewey was suddenly very curious. You always joked about being constantly horny but you never talked about your sex life- hell he assumed that you didn’t actually have one. Who had you been having sex with?! He thought you two told each other everything!
“Something wrong, Doll?” the man asked, and you seemed to shift nervously. What was going on in your head?
“It’s probably not good first date talk but I guess I’ll tell you.” you started. “I’ve only had sex once in the past few months and the last time it happened it... wasn’t exactly the best.”
“Yeah? What happened?” your date pressed on.
“I had sex with my best friend.” you admitted, playing with your hair nervously. “But he didn’t realize it was me.”
Dewey’s entire body went stiff and his eyes widened. What the fuck were you talking about?
“I- we went out drinking, and passed out in my bed.” you explained carefully. “And we woke up in the middle of the night and he said he was feeling much more sober and one thing lead to another and...” you took a deep breath and rubbed your eyes with the palm of you hands. “He thought it was a sex dream.”
“That’s rough.”
“He thought it was a sex dream with his ex-girlfriend.”
“Yikes.”
Dewey stared at you as everything fell into place. The distance between you two, the lack of interest in dating, the fact that you would barely talk to him. Guilt clenched at his stomach, and he felt awful. Had he really done that to his best friend? Was he really still that selfish and self-serving after everything that had happened?
The answer seemed to be yes.
“It wasn’t even good sex.” you laughed, a tinge of sadness in your voice. “I didn’t even get to kiss him- and I definitely didn’t get to cum.”
Dewey winced at the words. How had he managed to fuck up this bad?
“That’s a shame.” your date said, a devious smile crossing his lips. “Because if I had the chance to see you naked, I’d make sure you were more than satisfied.”
Kick him out. Dewey’s mind suddenly screamed. He’s just a horny bastard. He just wants sex! Come on, I’ve seen you turn down guys, kick him out. He was a hypocrite and he knew it but dammit, he wanted this new guy gone. He had to talk to you, he needed to apologize to you and every moment that this douchebag was here was a moment that he had to live with knowing that he hurt you.
To his dismay, you smiled back at him. “Oh yeah?” you asked. “And what exactly would you do to me?” The air in the room shifted, and Dewey knew he had to leave. He knew he needed to back away and climb out the window and get down the fire escape. He needed to leave, he should leave-
Bright green eyes met chocolate brown ones and his body suddenly felt frozen in place. Your date was looking directly at him. It was only for a split second, but it was enough to send a message; I’m going to fuck your best friend, and there’s nothing you can do about it.
The other man leaned in and whispered something in your ear that made you gasp. You whined as he kissed from your ear to your jaw all the way up to your lips. Dewey couldn’t pull his eyes away as you let out sounds of pleasure as your date started kissing along your neck. Had you made those kinds of noises when it was Dewey? He racked his brain trying to remember anything of that drunken night.
The two of you continued to kiss, and Dewey continued to be unable to look away. He let out a shuddering breath as you willingly removed your shirt, tossing it off the side of the couch. From this angle he couldn’t see your chest, the back of the damn couch was blocking most of the view. He never hated a couch so much, especially one that he had been lucky enough to crash on so many nights before.
“Beej...!” you gasped out as the man seemed to focus on kissing down your body. What kind of a name was Beej? What was that short for something? An unpleasant feeling was spreading through Dewey’s chest.
Beej sat back up and moved you so that you were sitting on the arm of the couch, giving Dewey a perfect view of your bare torso. Your eyes were closed in pleasure as Beej stared at him again with a smirk before cupping your breasts in his hands and carefully teasing your nipples. As he watched from the sidelines, Dewey remembered the night of his “dream” and the pair of tits that he remembered seeing. Fuck, those had been your breasts. How long had your chest been that perfect looking?
Between your moans and your bare chest, Dewey felt his cock start to stiffen. He tried to will it away, but with every whimper escaping your throat his cock grew more needy. This was wrong, this was so wrong but he still found his hand slowly rubbing at the bulge in his pants.
He watched and Beej kissed his way down your body, biting and sucking different places. You let out an especially wonderful noise when he left a hickey on your side. One of your hands was tangled in his hair while the other was keeping you steady on the couches arm.
Beej sat back up, smirking at you. Dewey couldn’t see what his hands were doing, but whatever it was, you were enjoying it. Your nipples were hard and your whole body was shivering slightly in pleasure. He squeezed himself through his pants, his thumb circling the button on his jeans. Was he really thinking about doing this...?
Holding you steady, Beej moved your leg over the back of the couch allowing Dewey to get a look at the panties hanging from your ankle. Beej then disappeared on the other side of the couch, but by the loud whine escaping your lips it wasn’t hard to figure out what was going on.
You threw your head back as Beej ate you out, and Dewey bit his lip and fumbled with his pants pulling his needy cock out. It felt disgusting, it felt amazing. It was clear that this was a power play that Beej was pulling, but at the moment Dewey didn’t care. Fuck, how had he never noticed how sexy you were?! As he stroked his cock he wondered what Beej was doing to be making you moan like that. Were his fingers thrusting inside you, or was your clit so sensitive that even a few soft licks were enough to have you a quivering mess? He stroked the head of his cock at the thought, unsure of what idea he liked more.
Dewey bit back a groan as he stroked and watched your face in pleasure. When was the last time he felt this turned on? His cock was throbbing in his hand, needy and pulsating. Every inch of his body was telling him to run over there and shove your date out of the way. He needed to prove to you that he wasn’t useless in bed and could absolutely make you cum if he’d just have one more chance...!
“Oh... oh fuck I’m so close....!” you gasped out, you leg twitching so much that the panties on your ankle fell to the floor. “Oh please don’t stop... please don’t stop.... Plea- oh fuck BEEJ!” Dewey watched in awe and jealousy as your whole body seized up and you came with a scream of the mans name. Dammit, that should be his name on your lips...!
Beej sat back up, making a show of licking his lips. That bastard. You smiled at him, face flushed red from pleasure.
“That was amazing.” you said quietly. “I haven’t come like that from someone else in a long time.”
“Anytime, babes.” Beej purred and pulled you into a long slow kiss that you melted into.
Dewey still couldn't look away as he took in every inch of your post-orgasm body. It should be him kissing you and comforting you right now, but it wasn't. He wrestled with his feelings, trying to decide if this was real. He was sexually attracted to you; that much he understood. That was easy. But what else?
Was this jealousy just because you weren't at his every call anymore? Was it because he always had a need to prove himself in everything he screwed up? What did he actually want? Did he want you because he actually wanted you, or did he now want you because he was alone and you weren't?
He watched as you crawled on Beejs' lap, straddling him. In this position it would be so easy for you to look over and see him peaking at you and your date. Dewey really should leave, he should turn and not risk getting caught-
A long moan escaping your lips stopped him in his tracks and made him squeeze his cock again. He could tell that you had settled on your dates cock and started riding him. You looked so damn beautiful when you were in so much pleasure. Beej leaned in and his lips pressed along your neck again, and by the sounds of your whimpers he was going to leave some marks.
Dewey wished that it was him leaving the marks on your body. The hand on his cock started stroking again as he watched you. He couldn't see much other than a little below your shoulders, but God was it enough to drive him wild. The head of his cock was growing more and more sensitive as he edged himself, he knew at this rate he wouldn't last much longer, especially if you kept moaning like that. Your moans were like music to him, sending electric sparks through him and giving him the same feeling as when he played an amazing show. The sounds you made could make anyone feel like a rock star.
"P-please touch my clit...!" You begged quietly, and a shift of beej's hand signaled that he obliged. You were going faster on him, riding him as if you're life depended on it. From what Dewey had seen earlier, it was clear that you were getting close again.
Dewey hand sped up as he watched you with hungry eyes. God he wanted to be the one making you moan, he wanted to be the one eating you out and worshiping your body the way it deserved to be worshiped. He bit back a groan as he spilled all over his hand, his knees going weak from the force of the orgasm that had snuck up on him and crashed over him like a wave.
He shivered as he looked back up at you, guilt soon washing over him as the lust faded away. Guilt and jealousy and hurt. He really was a screw-up.
You looked so beautiful and you were right on the edge of orgasm again. He carefully tucked his cock back into his pants and wiped the drying cum on the inside of his pants pocket. It was gross, but he needed to do laundry anyway.
He couldn't watch you cum again with a stranger. There were too many feelings in his brain, and he needed to sort himself out. He was about to take a step back and sneak out the window when a loud gasp from you prompted him to glance at you one last time.
You were looking directly at him. Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck. The jig was up. You were looking at him and we're going to be so mad at him. This was the end of your friendship, he just knew it.
Still, you didn't break eye contact with him, and to his surprise you opened your mouth and let out a scream of pleasure as you came again. Dewey’s eyes widened as you never broke eye contact through your orgasm and had he not just came moments before he would have probably jizzed his pants from the site alone. He watched as you collapsed on your date and he took that moment to make a run for it.
As quietly as he could, Dewey slipped away from the door and moved out the window, praying to God/Satan that you wouldn't come after him. Or maybe he wanted that? Fuck, he had no clue anymore. He had no idea what he wanted.
You.
He wanted you. He wanted you but he was too late. He screwed up harder than he'd ever screwed up before and he couldn't take it.
Dewey Finn was no stranger two screw-ups. And this time he wasn't sure if he could ever make it right.

U m Dewey x reader with an artistic/art teacher reader?? Am i projecting? A little
Thank you for ending my boredom! Please feel free to like and reblog, I also really get a kick out of feedback! I insist even if you want to tell how trashy this is!
One artsy reader coming up!
Also I doubt anyone wants to know but swiss posters are a very cool form of artwork!
Horace green was a real step up from public schools. Every extracurricular activity was chosen with care and the instructors for each subject were chosen with care. It had been a very long hard battle for you to get this job. There were so many good artists that you thought would be more qualified but lucky you! Miss Mullins loved how well you were with not only the children but the parents.
"Okay everyone, your unfinished swiss posters are up in front. Grab your things and you may get started!" The children all grabbed their own masterpieces as they went back to their chairs. You couldn't believe how fast they had progressed with their artwork. Most of the time you would sit at your desk drawing in your sketchbook, answering questions, or just walking around the room watching the kids go at their art.
"Excuse me L/N." Summer had her hand held up high as you made your way over to the very intellectual little girl.
"Yes Summer?" You squatted down to her level as she made eye contact with Zach who was sitting next to her drawing a guitar. "Our substitute wanted us to get to class early and I was wondering if we could leave 10 to 15 minutes early?" The girl pleaded with you as you tries to hold back a chuckle.
"Well I'm not sure, Miss Mullins wouldn't be too pleased to hear about this." You were in a predicament as you paced back and forth in your mind. Contemplating the idea you found a way to both satisfy your students and your boss. "How about this I will let you all go 15 minutes early," the kids began to grow excited. "Only if you let me take you to Mr. Schneebly." The kids grew silent as they looked to each other.
"Will you give us a moment?" Summer said as you giggled.
"Of course Summer take your time!" You beamed as she grabbed Katie and Zach and pulled them to a secluded corner. After about 3 minutes of discussing and debating the three came back.
"You've got yourself a deal." Katie said trying to sound intimidating almost like a judge.
"Oh do I?!" You said humored by the children. "Well I will look forward to it then!" To be honest you have heard about this new teacher but you've never seen him. There were about 30 minutes left until the kids could go to class early which in general was a weird thing for children to be excited about.
"Okay everyone let's head to your class." You said closing the sketchbook looking up to see everyone already packed up and ready to go. Going through the halls quietly you found the room. Opening the door you walked in to see a bunch of music equipment and the back Schneebly as he was setting the equipment up.
"Okay who's ready to ro-" The man turned around to see you as his eyes widened. "READ! Read yes read, because I'm a teacher and teachers, teach." The man was rambling as you took in the surroundings. It was almost a second before the teacher had realized he had never seen you before. "Oh uh I'm de-Ned! Need Schneebly!" He held out his hand.
"Y/N L/N!" You returned the shake. "I'll just be out of the way. I'll see you all tomorrow!" You said heading towards the door. "Have a fun time 'reading'." You shot a wink at the teacher as he gave you a smug look. Dewey released a breath he didn't know he was holding as the students did their normal routine.
"Okay that teacher just earned my respect." Dewey already knew he was going to get into even more trouble with you. Not only were you not too bad to look at you were totally cool with his music addiction. A perfect vision to him, and art! It was meant to be in his mind, and if there's anything rock and roll is about it's scoring chicks.
You sat at your desk looking through the artwork of the students and giving them scores based on the criteria of the assignment as you heard a knock at your door. "It's opened!" You shouted as Mr. Schneebly came through the floor. "Oh hello Mr. Schneebly." You said getting up as he closed the door.
"You can call me Ned!" He said as you smiled lightly at him.
"You can call me Y/N then, nice tradeoff!" You grabbed the stack of papers and headed towards the children's cubbies where you placed their art along with their scoresheet in the respective cubbie. "So what's up?"
"Informal slang." Ned practically moaned in satisfaction. "It's been so long since someone here has been as chill as you." You loved his enthusiasm as he dramatically leaned his head back.
"Well I guess I feel the same way!" Your tone was a mixture of happiness and relieved. "No but really, what do you want." You asked leaning slightly against the nearest table.
"Oh I just wanted to invite you to get some food with me." He had a very homey welcoming smile that was so contagious that you immediately accepted the invitation. He headed towards the door happily as he leaned against the doorway. "I'll meet you there at 7!" He gave you a wink as he left in good timing before noticing the blush creeping up your face. You rushed home in a panic to get ready. Knowing that the roadhouse diner was big place influenced with classic rock you tried to find your best clothes to go along with it. Just a simple jean and Black tank top along with a jacket you had embroidered. It was a jean jacket with a very detailed embodiment of Michael Jackson's Off the Wall album cover on the back. A personal favorite of yours because it turned out better than you thought it would be.
Pulling up to the diner you could hear the music shaking the earth around you as you headed in. Looking around to see the many drunk or just excited people around until your eyes finally found Dewey's. He waved excitedly as you walked over. "So roadside huh?" You said slipping into the seat across from him.
"She's an oldie but a goodie!" He beamed as you took your jacket off you started to put it beside you when Dewey stopped you. "It that Michael Jackson?!" You shake your head yes. "Wait?! Did you make that?!" He said even more excited. Another shake came from you as he went crazy over it demanding you made one for him but with Led Zeppelin on it.
"Yeah I can try to do it during the break." You said as he grabbed two glasses.
"Let's drink to that!" You both raised you glasses and drank the liquid inside of it. The two of you talked the entire night and had so much in common. It was sad when the night was over and you both headed out after saying your goodbyes.
A couple weeks went by and the two of you hung out more. Mr Schneebly had finally told you the truth about him being Dewey Finn and at first you were appalled by the fact. It wasn't until you heard the children talk about how much he impacted their lives that you started to sympathize with him. School had just ended and all the children were gone. You stepped out into the hallway to see Miss Mullins panicking as the parents were going ballistic due to the disappearance of their kids.
You practically ran to your car as you drove off to where the supposed battle of the bands was held. Before leaving you grabbed something from your car. Going into the venue the showed had just started as some band was up playing their song. You found your way to the front and waited. You look behind you to see that Muss Mullins and the parents had found the place as well as they all tried to rush backstage. You were tempted to but decided that the parents would be enough. It was finally the kids turn as they came onto the stage to sing Teacher's Pet. You actually were surprised with how amazing they were, and this made you fall in love with Dewey even more. He was so happy and energetic on the stage that you wanted to go on there and dance yourself. The song finally ended as you cheered for the band and ran backstage.
"Dewey that was amazing!" You screamed as Dewey spun around shocked to see you but accepted the giant hug you forced him into.
"You came!" He was thrilled to see you putting his arms around your waist. It had been a bit rough with the whole teacher thing but you were slowly letting it go.
"Oh!" You grabbed something from your bag. "I brought you a great first concert gift!" You opened the bag and pulled out the leather embodied jacket.
"No way!" Dewey immediately put it on. "I love it! Which reminds me." He beamed stepping closer to you as his arms held your hips. "I got you a present too." He said with love in his eyes as his lips connected with yours in a very soft but passionate way. Your hands went to his neck as you played with the collar on the jacket. It wasn't until you heard someone coughing to get your attention. You both broke apart to see Zach.
"They want us on stage to sing another song." He said as Dewey just nodded. Turning back to you he gave you one last quick kiss.
"Go and teach rock to the world." You said as he held you hand.
"I will Y/N, I will."

Review #96: The School of Rock
Thanks to a friend, I got to watch a movie I probably would have never picked out myself. It's an interesting experience, getting movie recommendations, or exploring the movie tastes of another person. You really open yourself up to many different movies you would have never sought out otherwise. It doesn't work all the time, but there are gems scattered throughout. Now let's get into what I felt with this film.
First of all, all emotions aside, I think it was very tightly written. It had all the acts, it had all the highs and lows, and the climax was pretty much perfectly done - as in, it followed all the right rules and guidelines of screenwriting 101. The entire film kind of followed it, really. I especially loved the 'hero loses it all' part, where (I keep wanting to call him Jack Black) Dewey literally loses it all. The writing was on point for that part. I honestly knew it was coming up, right? But I didn't think it would happen like that. I guess I thought the kids and Dewey would be stopped in some way as a group as they made their way to the concert hall - but they movie really did it in a different way. I loved it. So, story-wise, there was pretty much nothing to point out in a negative sense. It was like a very tightly written Hollywood style film.
Now, the teaching side of it. I gotta be honest, I didn't really like Dewey in the beginning. He wasn't exactly a likeable character. Most films try to make the hero a likeable guy from the get-go, but this film was a little different in that sense. Dewey was presented as a lazy, unattractive, attention-seeking, jobless person who wasn't even loyal or mature enough to pay back rent. He wasn't really a good friend. But he really redeemed himself as the film went on and in the end I did grow to like him. You could see that he genuinely cared about the kids. And yeah, he didn't really have teaching skills in the beginning and wasn't fit for being a teacher (it irked me, to be honest) but he did become an amazing teacher when he started teaching them what he was truly passionate about. That's when I thought, teachers really should teach what they're passionate about. They should really teach what they're great at, passionate about, and have deep knowledge about. That is what makes a great teacher.
Another thing about teaching methods - bear with me, I'm a teacher here - I loved how he was basically doing everything a good teacher should do, and he wasn't even realizing it. He was including every student in the class and making them feel like they were meaningful individuals by giving each of them important roles. I mean, I loved how he was bullshitting people most of the time but in the end he really did care. He was figuring out each student's talent and interest, and giving them roles related to those. That's what a good teacher does. Then he was encouraging them to grow in that area. When you give students an important role and a responsibility in that class, you know they'll be motivated and working. They need to feel important. And Dewey was doing all that without even realizing it. Also, TBLT (sorry, bear with me). Task-based teaching. The students had a project they were working on, there was a specific time frame, it was very hands-on, they were working as a team, but every student had an important role that contributed to the class, and winning or grades weren't even the ultimate goal. It was just to create meaning, have fun, and put on a good show. If that's not good teaching, I don't know what is. And on top of that, a genuine interest and care for the students. Damn, Dewey. You're a natural.
I absolutely loved the kids. I was like Dewey. At the beginning, I was meeting them for the first time, so I was wary and I wasn't sure how to feel about them. Especially Summer. But as the movie went on, I grew to care about each of them, and I absolutely adored Summer by the end. What a stellar manager. I think that also goes to show that everyone has a different talent, and we're all different, and that's good. Even students who may seem out of line or those who seem to have behavioral issues - they have a part to play too, and it's good to try and discover their hidden talents before concluding that they're up to no good (for example, Freddy). I think I really got most attached to Zack though. Maybe because his story was the most heartbreaking for me? The way he was treated by his father. It's hard growing up in a home where the rules are so strict. I didn't grow up in that much of a strict household, but yes there were some strict rules at times because our family can be quite conservative. It was nice seeing Zack break away from that while being in the band.
Now, it leads me to talking a little bit about the ending. It was idealistic and too good to be true. Let's be real here. Parents finding out their children are missing, buying tickets to the rock concert, and then seeing their kids rock it on stage and being like, 'oh wow, my kid's amazing, I should let them do everything they want now!' is unrealistic. A more realistic storyline would be the one in Dead Poets Society. But then again, this movie isn't supposed to be that dark. It's a totally different genre, so I can't call it out so much on this ending. It adheres to its genre and it's a feel-good film. And it fulfills that well. I'm just mentioning it because it was a thought that came to my mind at the end of the film.
I've always loved seeing kids on stage, whether it was students playing music or dancing, so this was very heartwarming to watch. There's just something about kids doing arts. It makes my heart soar. It reminded me of Billy Elliot and how much I loved watching the musical. (Not a secret that I watched it more than three times back in Korea lol) But the true experience was when I watched it for the first time back in London. I guess there's just something heart tugging about kids breaking free from stereotypes and social norms and letting themselves go through music and dance. Truly a tremendous sight.
Oh one more thing before I go - I really loved how Mr. Schneebly changed as the movie went on. He had a great arc, and it was actually quite subtle and so gradual that I just thought about it as I was having a shower. Near the beginning, Dewey makes the kids swear that all creative control will go to him. But near the end, he chooses to play Zack's song on stage. That was an immense change. I didn't even realize it until my shower. Oh and also, I love love loved Dewey's doormat friend. I'm sure many people could relate to him and the hardships of being the person who is always "too nice". At first I felt like his girlfriend was making sense and that she was right, but by the end she was annoying the heck out of me and I couldn't want for Dewey's friend to dump her. And I laughed so hard when he slammed the door in her face just as she was in the middle of telling him to stand up for himself. lmao. I was just so incredibly happy for him when, in the ending, he's teaching music to kids. That's like SUCH a great middle ground to what he'd been struggling with - having to give up his passion for music and wanting to have a stable job. What a perfect thing for him to do. He was a special character to me for sure. Don't think I've ever felt that happy for a fictional character in a while.

a comprehensive list of things that make him not-so-straight:
he has known his best friend, Ned, since middle school, and they have gone through dozens of experiences together. One of these, though Dewey would be extremely reluctant to admit it, would be his very first crush on someone of the same sex. He never acted upon it, nor did he ever even remotely hint at it to his friend. This crush happened during their first few years of high school.
^ the crush inevitably went away, and he never reminded himself of it. Ned ended up dating some girl --- Patty DiMarco --- and Dewey supported this relationship more than anything ( he still does, despite his distaste for her ).
By the time he was eighteen or nineteen, he and Ned were living together and getting by as best as they could. Ned would support Dewey at times, going to see the band of the month at whatever little hole in the wall they were playing at.
^ after one performance, the pair was just hanging out at the bar, drinking and getting along just fine. One thing led to another --- one person bet Dewey that he wouldn’t smooch a guy --- and well, romance ensued. The kiss was a brief make-out session with his best friend, tongue and everything included, before it was broken.
^^ Patty was present, and the friend group was all drinking that night. They all remember it just fine, but they don’t talk about it. God knows Dewey would never bring it up, and the Schneeblys never do, either.
The only person who knows about the crush and the kiss is Dewey’s younger sister, Betty. He refuses to tell Ramona, or anyone else. He will claim to anyone that he is in no way gay or bisexual: purely straight, or so he says.
He has had a few, smaller crushes, too, mostly on celebrities when he was younger. He will never, ever tell anyone who any of these celebrities are ( not even his sister knows, which is saying something ).
^ the biggest celebrity crush he has ever had, same sex or not, came on when he was only eighteen years old. He didn’t have a job, wasn’t in school, and spent most of his time at home, watching television and binge-watching old sitcoms. He has watched every season of Friends at least twice, and will never admit to anyone that his biggest celebrity crush --- ever --- was on early Friends-era Matthew Perry.

Survivor Superlatives: David vs. Goliath Episode 4 recap
By: Chris Chase | October 18, 2018 11:41 am
Every Thursday, FTW recaps the latest episode of Survivor: David vs. Goliath, with our Survivor Superlatives. This week: Episode 4, “Time to Bring the Charmpocalypse.”
When Bi announced her departure because of her torn MCL, Jeff marveled at the situation, gobsmacked that it was a David, not a Goliath, who suffered an injury. What? Why? Just because David was good with a slingshot doesn’t mean he was impervious to common knee ailments. But the hopes of an analogy-free Survivor didn’t last long. Even after the tribe swap, Jeff and the contestants were all about the original version of Rocky vs. Apollo.
The swap split the teams into three tribes, each of which happened to have three former Goliaths and two Davids (with Carl getting shipped to Exile Island as the odd man out). Why wasn’t Jeff amazed that the Goliaths, not the Davids, were the ones who had math work in their favor?
Says the self-described “social media manager” about the swap: “I’m here for the part where you have to backstab and lie and turn other people against each other.” Sounds like Twitter.
John and Christian were split onto the same team and immediately came together in a Survivor version of the Camp David Accords. This was all part of Christian’s Charmpocalypse that he teased last week. How did it work? He asked John about the demographics of Slamtown and inquired as to the availability of the city’s comptroller position. “Oh we’re constantly fielding interviews,” John answered gamely.
Natalie, seated, to Angelina, on her knees two feet away and trying to build a fire.
After the swap, public defender Nick dropped all pretense and immediately approached Ned Schneebly to ask about flipping on Natalie. Something tells me the defendants of Williamsburg, Ky. cut plea deals way too early.
The first half of the race involved two blindfolded players pushing a teammate who was sitting on a wheelbarrow/unicycle contraption and calling out directions. Fittingly, some exegetical scholars believe that Goliath is blind due to a condition called acromegaly.
As Gabby was crying about her inability to connect with the new “cool kids” from the Goliath tribe, Christian, on break from his internal audits of Slamtown, was a soothing presence. “They have their vulnerabilities too,” he assured her, though it’s not clear if he’s talking about the power of sight.
This one goes to me, for writing this in the lead up to the vote, trying to get a jump on things, like when I finished my Super Bowl LI column when the Patriots were up 28-3. Presented below, as is:
A straight-forward 3-2 vote for the Goliaths was assured, but because it’s a TV show that needs some drama, producers edited Alec’s confessionals to float the idea he might vote for Natalia. Yes, Natalia pulled a Natalie and was bossy (and snapped “shut up you two” at her two allies) but she clearly wasn’t going anywhere. It would have meant Alec willingly giving up a small-number alliance and ostracizing all the other Goliaths once the merge happens, just to get out someone who was vaguely annoying.
Okay, that was far dumber.
“Don’t be sorry, shut up,” she snapped to a smirking Alec, who offered an insincere apology after flipping on her. In her post-tribal confessional, she offered, “I want to hurt him so bad.”

Hello, I was going to repost your fanart of Professor Clavel but then I saw the tag and I felt kind of scared to reblog it cuz I loved him so much as well.
Also, what are "doubles dni" and "f/os" in terms? Q_Q);
haii!! these are selfshipper related terms in my case! I selfship with Clavell and I'm not comfortable getting comments and such thirsting after my f/os, that's all!
an f/o stands for fictional other, letting people know this is someone i selfship with, it helps me establish boundaries a little more upfront and avoid being discomforted
I am very chill about most things, if you simply like him too I don't mind, I just prefer not to have comments fawning over him nor other f/os of mine

If you do end up rambling about your insert and gio plz feel free to use this ask as a free card to....cause I wanna know more and they look so cuuuuute together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ishskdjdk ;-; I love them
OH THIS IS SO SWEET 💖💖💖
i usually dont like rambling without being *invited* to yknow, so thank you waaa 🌷
SO the idea I have for them is somewhat ? of a work in progress AU, theres a lot of ideas I wanna go with but only ones gonna be "canon" yknow, I'll tell you what I got so far
starting with Hemlock, my insert, hes in his mid 40s, lives in Unova, and runs an apothecary shop, where exactly? Not sure yet but hes got a shop. He grows a lot of herbs to treat ailments for both people and pokemon, has a lot of knowledge on medical aid and home brews his own medicines with the venom from his arbok and seviper. In total he has a seviper, arbok, dragonair and a serperior, none of which he really *likes* battling with since theyre much more like pets, if he had to though, dragonair and serperior are his main sources of protection. He also has an overgrown house cat (liepard)
As for Giovanni, the main idea I have for him is after the events in Johto, he's been missing from those regions for years, and he's found himself in Unova (where conveniently, Kanto and Johto have no jurisdiction.) He's put crime (for the most part) behind him, and focuses his ambitions to be the very best (and boosting his ego) at the Pokemon World Tournament.
I've liked the idea of Hemlock being Roxie's uncle, both being poison oriented goobers ofc. So I'd like to think Roxie begged Hemlock to take her to see a tournament, which he agreed upon cause he likes spoiling her, fun uncle n all that. By chance, Hemlock sees Giovanni there and he's immediately intrigued. He kinda gets hooked on going to these tournaments for a bit and cheering on his favorite trainers there. Once more by chance, Hemlock sees Giovanni at a bar, it's late, not many people around, he manages to get on speaking terms with him and that's how I met your mother /silly
Hemlocks always been the super inviting hospitality type, he's very genuine in everything he says and does and he's a massive softie, I like to think Giovanni finds that endearing after working with a bunch of suck ups and people who feared him. Honestly Giovanni probably thought Hemlock wanted something from him as well considering he was a fan in a sense before, but he came to learn pretty quickly Hemlocks just this big nerd who grows plants all day and doesn't care about status, money or power
Onto more fluffier stuff, they're both old men, they both wanna settle down at the end of a day, a lot of their quality time is spent cooped up and quiet together, maybe with the usual bit of Hemlocks rambling about whatevers been going on at work or about a new herb he's excited to grow. Giovanni's an extremely attentive partner and person in general, he can read Hemlock like a book and always knows exactly what he needs. Hemlocks attentive in other ways, always doing acts of service even if Giovanni insists he doesn't, but it's just in his nature to care for those around him
I think thats juuuust about the jist of it, if theres anything specific you wanna know just lmk :3
OH ALSO !! their shipnames Poisonpointshipping !! cause Giovanni's Nidoking has poison point and hemlocks, well, poisonous
