she’s being watched. from a million different angles, all the time, always, but especially now. the feeling creeps up her spine as she turns, a shiver that she doesn’t let follow through to shake her. cj’s spinning around on tables, dancing, flirting with people she shouldn’t be. getting in lots and lots of trouble. something doesn’t fit here, but it’s not the eyes. or at least, not the idea of them. she’s used to being watched, being looked at. she’s loud, brightly colored and red flagged as danger in girl form. sometimes it’s literal eye-catching, sometimes it’s desire, the ravenous kind, sometimes it’s watching in case she jumps out and bites. but this isn’t any of that. these eyes are huge, brown, and weren’t made for anything that belongs here. not helpful, but curious, cj hops down to land in front of them, slinking down to meet her. “ you look lonely. ” and like a fucking owl. the blonde walks her fingers across the table, all too close to a stranger, but that’s fun. “ havin’ fun? ”

“I’ve been absent for so long, but I’m here now.” He knew that didn’t make up for having just vanished off the face of the Earth for a long time. But between work and things regarding his parents, he hadn’t had the time to get back, and he felt very badly about it. “How about we go get something to eat?” He asked, looking over at Valerie. “It’s fine, if you’re upset with me and don’t want to. I will understand.”

He always understood when people were sore with him as long as it was reasonable. Sometimes, they had silly reasons for being so upset with him, and while he knew that they were allowed to be hurt. It didn’t always warrant the treatment that he endured.

“Actually, I found a nice place not far from here that just opened. It’s making American comfort food which I believe is basically things that make you feel good?”

❛ 𝙱𝙰𝚁𝙽𝙴𝚂 ? 𝙻𝙸𝙺𝙴 𝙹𝙰𝙼𝙴𝚂 𝙱𝙰𝚁𝙽𝙴𝚂 ? As in Mr. Bucky, I mean... ❜ he had met the Winter Soldier only twice: different occasions, once even different teams. But it was enough for him to deem the older man as quite SCARY, to say the least. Hence avoiding another meeting was fundamental as of now.
