For a minute, we merely look at each other, and I feel my heart start bounding. A reaction that was completely missing when I was sitting on Huub’s couch last Monday. Finally, he looks at his notebook, and I let out the breath I’ve been holding. I shouldn’t be thinking this way, but I can’t stop myself when his tongue slips out to wet his lips; I want to know what those lips would feel like against mine.

“Would you like to talk about the day of the accident?” Dr. Alfons asks, efficiently pulling me out of the fantasy running in my head.

“Do I have to?” I say quietly. I feel a lump in my throat that wasn’t there a second ago.

“I won’t force you, but I believe it will help.”I stay quiet, staring out the window.

“Amber,” my therapist murmurs, bringing my eyes back to his handsome face. He has trimmed his beard, not letting it get wild and out of control. It would most likely still tickle my neck if he were to run kisses down to my shoulder. “Have you told anyone about what happened?”

I press my lips together, shaking my head both to answer his question and to get the images out of my head. My saviour.

“Amber,” he says softly, “come on in. You can close the door behind you. Would you like something to drink?”

I pull the door shut as I enter the room. The curtains by the large windows are open, giving me the view of the small park behind the building again. I can already see a collie walking proudly on the path with its owner.

“Water?” My therapist brings me out of my musing, and I look towards him. He is standing next to the mini fridge, waiting for my reply. Today, he is wearing a simple black button-up shirt that hugs him just right and brings forth his incredible shape even more. All of the buttons to the very top one are fastened up, and I get the urge to loosen the top two and run my hands through his dark hair. Make him look less formal and more—more what? Sexy? As if I need any more sex appeal from him. He already looks good enough to eat. That man must do more than just walk in the forest for exercise.

Forcing my eyes away from him, I look at the coffee machine next to the cooler.

anxiety, adhd, ptsd if my therapist is to be believed, social anxiety (cause apparently social anxiety and normal anxiety are different but oh well), recovering from depression so that's fun, abandonnement issues, iron deficiency that just won't leave, i've twisted my wrists and ankles more time that i can count, had a knee injury when i was younger so now i'm a human rain detector

not saying "please" and "thank you" (it's basic human decency, come on), not taking off your shoes when entering someone's house (but maybe that's just cause i grew up in switzerland), people trying to lie to me (you can't, stop trying), people trying to manipulate me (again, you can't, stop trying)
