I finished rereading @zoe-oneesama’s Scarlet Lady AU!!
This panel from episode 51 part 20 was too cute not to draw! Thank you so much for sharing your Scarlet Lady comic with us, it has soothed the frustrated miraculer in my heart. <3

tonight's Agatha episode led me down a bit of a rabbit hole skimming the 1985 Vision and Scarlet Witch comic run for my vague recollection of Floating Old Lady Agatha Ghost Head and while I did find that, I also found something way weirder and more fun:
NICHOLAS SCRATCH WAS A POLY MONSTERFUCKER
so. the Salem Seven, who burn Agatha at the stake at the start of issue 3, are Nicholas Scratch's children, all from a different mother. this means he had at least seven wives. now of course, he probably married them separately, but goddamn that's a lot of wives. I'm choosing to believe there was at least some overlap.
pictured below are the children, who are very clearly Many Different Species:
Tumblr media
in conclusion. 1. mad respect to my man Nicholas Scratch 2. freaky sex runs in the family. like mother like son <3
[disclaimer I am a casual comics fan and don't know the intricacies of the lore nor do I care. I just found this really funny. Marvel please.]

WHO HAD A SECRET RELATIONSHIP WITH WHOM?!
@miraculoushedgehog replied to your post: I need this info on 81’ Thomas 😂
In Sense and Sensibility 1981, the servants of Barton cottage are not ones coming with the Dashwoods from Norland; whether sir John sent them or they are just a fixture of the place, the series doesn't tell us, but they do get a grand introduction:
Thomas, who is doing some gardening as he awaits the Dashwoodses, with as much or more enthusiasm as Mr Collins' noticing Lady Catherine's carriage, tells the maid when he sees the carriage:
Tumblr media
Darcy cannot fix the hour or the spot? Skill issue. This man certainly can, as he ran inside, put on a coat and proceeded to greet them:
Tumblr media
What a meet cute! Ma Dashwood is not at all displeased:
Tumblr media
She has not withdrawn her hand! she smiles at him!
Tumblr media
I know who this woman was voting for on that tournament.
Once she moves past him, he pointedly looks at her as she makes her way to the front door, and then adds:
Tumblr media
He introduces Susan, and then:
Tumblr media
He's taken with her!
You'd say, Scarlet, you are reading too much into this! these are just some perfunctory introductory lines!
Well, you are wrong, because this sequence hasn't ended yet! I'm tempted to think this is the servant character with the most lines in any Austen adaptation. Which reinforces my theory that this is done ON PURPOSE :P
He shows her the different rooms, and then:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He smiles at her approval, and clearly attempts to prolong their conversation with:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Realizing perhaps this is pushing his luck, as she doesn't answer, he adds:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is not the last time we see him in this very episode, as he comes in to assuage Lady Middleton's fears that her son might be injured, and informing all that only his cucumber frame has been destroyed, showing with that his great presence of mind.
Episode 2. Tom, who introduced himself last episode as doing gardening and odd jobs, has been ascended to doorman:
Tumblr media
After we meet Willoughby, the same way Andrew Davies treated us to some wet shirt Edward, we are treated to some Tom doing physical labour, clearly highlighting how romance is blossoming in parallel between so similar a mother and a daughter:
Tumblr media
He stops to listen to Marianne and Willoughby sing a song:
Tumblr media
The face of a man in love!
The Queen Maab scene follows this one, and then, as Marianne and Willoughby are singing again another day, what do we see first as background to their singing?
Tumblr media
Ma Dashwood! Carrying flowers! This is such an obvious yet subtle romantic parallel. This is the kind of soft romantic storytelling I'm here for.
Tumblr media
That's Willoughby's carriage as he's brought back Marianne from Allenham. Would Thomas be complete if he didn't love horses?
Episode 3: We open with some Thomas working in the background:
Tumblr media
So that we not forget his real relevance in this story's subtext.
Tumblr media
Ma Dashwood not even trying to be subtle.
Another Tom cameo:
Tumblr media
And another:
Tumblr media
Ma Dashwood's reaction upon hearing that Mrs Jennings has invited Elinor and Marianne to go to London with her:
Tumblr media
It is worth mentioning that in this adaptation, there's no Margaret. Ma Dashwood is not sick. There's absolutely no reason for her not to be invited, so why didn't Mrs Jennings invite her? Well, of course, because with her nose for romance she's sniffed her secret out! Ma Dashwood does then demolish all Elinor's objections, is truly overjoyed at the idea of being left behind, and explicitly mentions her having Tom and Susan with her as a reason for Elinor and Marianne to go with a clean conscience.
Ma Dashwood's face after her daughters leave the room:
Tumblr media
During episodes 4-5, the series of course focuses on our main heroines in London and Cleveland, leaving us to imagine the full blossoming of this romance happening at Barton cottage, and all the angst and heartbreak that their class separation imposes on these middle aged lovers. Ma Dashwood may be a romantic, but she understands that her daughters come first.
As soon as we return to Barton in episode 6, so returns our favorite gardener-doorman-oodjobman Tom! Without seeing him, Ma Dashwood recognizes his way of shutting the front door, and calls his name, and then smiles at his answering:
Tumblr media
♪ So this is love... ♫ (notice Elinor drawing Edward's portrait)
Tumblr media
(Then we get the "Thomas tells them Mr Ferrars is married" scene)
Then this scene follows:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's a really clever piece of writing, where the writers both show us the grown intimacy, respect and appreciation between them, and give us a nice metaphor, where the flowers of the hedgerow, that represent Tom, are picked by Ma Dashwood, beautiful in her eyes, and made fit for polite society. Alas, the crucial question remains: how can they love be, without ruining Marianne and Elinor's prospects?
As we all know, Edward comes and proposes to Elinor, and marries her. We are then treated to a visit of colonel Brandon, where Ma Dashwood sees how much Marianne's feelings and attitudes towards the colonel have changed.
The last line and frame of the adaptation belongs to Ma Dashwood:
Tumblr media
That would, to any distracted viewer, seem very odd. Why that? And why that line? But for the attentive viewer who has been able to piece together the little drama behind the curtains, it's patently clear: she has realized that Marianne will marry Brandon, and once that happens, she will be free to have her own second happily ever after herself, with Tom, the gardener of her heart.

“can someone ask me abt her i wanna yap” speak your truth abt agatha 🤲 free pass
I also do genuinely know Nothing about her so if you want a topic I do literally know nothing — @strawberry-selfships
HALLO HEYY!! don’t even fret it’s a weird premise but i do have a general explanation! STILL TAKING THAT FREE PASS AND RUNNING
wandavis is about the scarlet witch trapping a town in a sitcom curse. agatha is there but since she's a witch she's unaffected, so she just screws around and plans to steal the scarlet witch's powers
at the end of wandavis agatha's powers r locked away, so the plot of her new show is her teaming up with some ragtag witches and her evil probably ex gf to get them back
BUT FOR ME!!!!!! it starts when agatha sees marie one day in the hex (the spell) and senses something off about her, so she brings her inside and is able to reverse the spell. and tada! this girl has wings! so in the spur of the moment, full of shock nd awe; agatha decides to keep marie around. she figures she can use marie as a spy but she gets feelings soooo
I JUST LOVE HER ITS A PROBLEMM,, i wanna imagine marie taking her time with agatha, doing what she can to help without even being asked to. even if that just means tidying up around the house
a big point in the new series has been agatha struggling w maternal instincts nd such. but since i like to insert myself into everything, i usually say that’s a consequence of marie’s undying kindness
Tumblr media
how it feels to see that old lady^
episode 3 the first house marie does down the poison, but out of everyone, agatha is worried about her second (obviously agatha’s most worried about herself but yknow) agatha is honestly more hostile on the witches’ road because she has more to lose, hopefully i can still stick in some fluff
obviously i’m scared to see rio again, but i’ve tried to make a stalemate, no mater how much “tension” is in their scenes together, no matter how much the fandom wants to see them ruin their lives. i think marie would be the better choice, at least she cares about agatha

I know you and Scarlet Lady's writer don't exactly see eye to eye, but she did raise a valid point on the issue with the Miracuclass: Instead of the Miracuclass being treated as a diverse cast of characters, they are all written as being a psuedo HIVEMIND of sorts where the entire Miracuclass is basically just a single character.
Everything they do, they do as a group, even if it doesn't make sense for the individual characters (i.e. Alya still believing Lila's lies even though she knows Marinette is Ladybug, because the Miracuclass believes Lila and Alya is part of the Miracuclass).
This means that none of the show's supporting cast can ever have real character arcs, because most of the supporting cast is written as a SINGULAR character.
Yeah it's. I haven't seen their post because I don't follow them, but this is a criticism I have too.
The Miracuclass tends to just be 'the Miracuclass'. On occasion we get smaller groups like Kitty Section or the Girlsquad, but Kitty Section is mostly a 'Luka Episode' and the Girlsquad just collectively follows Alya's schemes(seriously how was Mylene okay with what they did in Gigantitan?) unless we get an episode focusing on them, there's not a whole lot of characterization.
And Lila is a good example of this. Everyone adores Lila and fawns all over her, even if they're.... not exactly the fawning type. Sure they're not /rude/ but why is it that everyone is there surrounding her at lunch and zealously listening to her stories? There should be more classmates who went 'oh that's cool!' and moved on, there should be one or two who find Lila a bit annoying/dislike her boasting even if they still believe her. And yeah there should be ones like Alya, ones like Juleka, who should know that Lila's stories are lies due to knowing who they know. And yes, to harp on 'Ladybug', nearly all of them instantly believe Lila's plan despite such actions being out of character. (Both salt and deconstruction fics point out that if Mari didn't already push Chloé down the stairs, no way would she push Lila. And that goes triple since those fics talked about Season 1-3 Chloé not Season 4-5 Chloé)
And like.
I do get that it can be tricky to write scenes with a large cast. But you can put little tweaks in it to make sure they're still individuals even if they're doing something as a group.

hiii elly <3
kinda bored lately and wanted to watch something so came here for recs :) could be of any kind btw like movies, tv shows (any language)
also maybe not something from your top ten kdramas post lol i've already watched most of the shows on there
also how're you doing?
hope you're doing well <33
Hey girl hey! Thank you for asking, I'm doing well! Terribly busy, but on the whole things are good. How about you?
Oooh okay this is quite a thing to ask me, I'm going to get decision paralysis dhdvdvdg but let me think of some less-common things I can recommend!
Available on Prime Video.
The Surprise (2015). Also available on Tubi. After inking their own death warrants, an eccentric millionaire and distraught woman fall in love and find voiding their contracts isn't an option. Romance! Dark humor! The k-drama truck of doom, except it's a Dutch movie! (Disclaimer: I do not recommend watching this film if one is suicidal)
From Prada to Nada (2011). A modern Mexican-American adaptation of Sense and Sensibility that surprisingly really works?? The title is woeful but the movie is pretty darn good.
The Lady Vanishes (2013). Iris Carr is traveling across Europe by train when she befriends Miss Froy, an elderly English woman. But when she wakes up from a few hours' sleep, Miss Froy has vanished. As fellow passengers claim the lady never existed, Iris fights to discover the fate of Miss Froy - and prove that she's not going mad.
Love and Friendship (2016). Adaptation of Jane Austen's Lady Susan, starring Kate Beckinsdale. The main character is the definition of gaslight gatekeep girlboss, and the supporting characters are all just. so funny.
To Tell The Truth (1961). If you just want something to distract you that doesn't take a lot of thinking, old game shows are ideal. In this one, a celebrity panel tries to guess which of three strangers is the person they claim to be.
Masterpiece/PBS Passport Shows.
All Creatures Great and Small (since 2020). Season 4 currently airing. A feel-good (but unafraid to get real and sad) show about the misadventures of a country vet practice in Yorkshire.
Miss Scarlet and the Duke (since 2020). Season 4 currently airing. In 1880s London, the daughter of a private investigator decides to take over his detective business after his untimely death. Mystery series that also has just about the BEST opening titles ever.
Available on Tubi (which is free!)
Forever Young (1992). The movie where I realized that Mel Gibson was cute, actually. In 1939, a heartbroken Army pilot volunteers for a cryogenics experiment and wakes up in 1992, where he gets a second shot at love.
The Space Between Us (2017). On his first visit to Earth, a man born and raised on Mars bonds with a street-smart young woman while unraveling the mysteries of how he came to be. To quote my mutual Chris: "wanna cry? 🥰"
The Dick Van Dyke Show (1960s). Some of the stuff hasn't aged well, but this is still one my top favorite old sitcoms. All the characters are so fun and endearing. You probably won't want to sift through all five seasons, so my top episode recommendations are "The Curious Thing About Women" (s1 e16), "The Two Faces of Rob" (s2 e2), "That's My Boy??" (s3 e1), "Big Max Calvada" (s3 e9), "October Eve" (s3 e28), "My Mother Can Beat Up My Father" (s4 e1), "4 1/2" (s4 e7), "The Impractical Joke" (s4 e16), and "Coast to Coast Big Mouth" (s5 e1).
(I got a little too excited with those episode recs, oopsie 🤭)
The Surprise, like I mentioned.
I just found out that they have some episodes of The Flintstones and Tom and Jerry on Tubi, if you want some good nostalgic laughs.
Available on Netflix.
Love At First Sight (2023). Cute romance about taking a chance on a good feeling.
The Adam Project (2022). You've probably seen it, but I will mention it anyway! Time travel. Annoying and precocious 12-year-old child. Ryan Reynolds and Zoe Saldaña. Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo! FIVE STARS.
Trevor Noah: I Wish You Would (2022). The best Trevor Noah special, in my opinion. The curry story??? Iconic forever and ever.
The Full-Time Wife Escapist (2018). A woman takes a job as a housekeeper, but in order to stay in it, she and her boss agree to a contract marriage. If you've ever seen the k-drama Because This Is My First Life... This is the better version of that show, imo. The ML is suchhh a sweetheart.
Indian Matchmaking (since 2020). I never watch reality TV, so I don't know how I started seeing this show, but it's SO good and super bingeable.
Omg the Jurassic Park movies are on Netflix right now
Available on Hulu.
Wild Mountain Thyme (2020). It's a love story, and it's so silly and enjoyable. The resolution is just shdhfhshshsg
The Giver (2014). Jonas learns the secrets of the past, and the utopia he's grown up in begins to look more and more dystopian. Also, Taylor Swift is there for some reason.
Flamin' Hot (2023). It wasn't until I watched this that I realized how much I need movies about Mexican success stories in my life. File this under ✨inspirational✨
If you haven't yet watched The Artful Dodger (2023), you absolutely should. Come for the romance, stay for the absolutely bonkers, insane hijinks.
I barely started watching Timeless (2016), but it looks really fun and good. It's about time travel, unsurprisingly for me 🤭
Available on Disney+
Baby's Day Out (1994). A childhood CLASSIC of mine. The cuteness is just. so much. The humor is standard slapstick, but really fun, and the mom has some of the most gorgeous 90s outfits omggg
Hidden Figures (2016). I love this movie endlesslyyy. Awesome intelligent Black women overcoming the odds, space race setting, and even a side of cute romance.
The Art of Racing in the Rain (2019). Dare I say, best dog movie I've seen?
The Call of the Wild (2020). Another dog movie, with Harrison Ford. I don't remember much of it but I remember really enjoying it.
Milo Murphy's Law (2017–2018). Have you seen this follow-up to Phineas and Ferb? If you haven't, you need to. The comedy is so gold tier and the music slaps.
Delicacies Destiny (2022). I kind of stopped watching this c-drama about 1/3 of the way through, but I totally should pick it up again, and it's worth watching even if just for all the gorgeous food scenes.
And of course, anything from my top ten k-dramas that you haven't seen yet is an automatic recommendation 😌
This got. so long. I hope you find something here that you like and thank you for asking @milkteawithrusk!! This was so fun to put together! 🫶🏼

More unpopular opinions (Sorry, have been working on my ML AU, the Power of 3), and I have been reflecting a lot about miraculous stuff to decide how some chapters are going to happen.
1. Reflekta’s design doesn’t make sense. I understand that it was made to be flashy, but, why they chose the French aristocratic aesthetic for her? Like, the show never stablished any interest Juleka had in history or something like that. And even the color doesn’t make sense. It’s very different from Rose’s usual pinks, and not like any shades of purple that Juleka uses.
2. Vanisher deserved an actual design instead of just being transparent purple Sabrina.
3. Zoé deserved another Akumatized form. One that looked like her not Chloé.
It okay, dude! You were busy with something that you wanted to do and that’s okay with me. Also that au sounds interesting, I saw the first page and it looks great so far.
1. 7, honestly I thought they were going for a jester like aesthetic for her design but I could wrong while my friend, said that she has the vibe of a drag queen. I agree with them on that. I think the pink was highlighting how eyesore it is to look like compared to Juleka’s normal colors. But I do get what you mean by her design being confusing and I do think they could make Reflekta more exaggerated, expressive, and loud, things that Juleka isn’t all that much especially in the later seasons of the show. Overall, I think spilt on her design and you did bring up some points, I just can’t really agree all that much though.
2. 9, while I don’t like Sabrina all that much, I really think it was stupid she didn’t get a proper akuma design until season three. I’m really happy that @/zoe-oneesama design a way better version of Vanisher for her scarlet lady au. I do get why they didn’t do all that much in season one because budget but still they could make a homage to the invisible man with her having a the outfit he wears sometimes in the original movie or literally anything different. Like they could give her own episode but that’s shows much they actually cared about Sabrina.
3. 10, I wish they actually tried to give Zoé another akuma considering the bourgeois family got bunch of them. And I wish they went with the concept art for sole crusher since while it still has Chloé’s face, it doesn’t have her usual colors so much so, that you can really tell that not Chloé. And if you’re wondering, I write my design for Sole Crusher, shameless plug. But overall, yeah I would give her one more akuma in season five. And if you’re wondering, I go more in depth why Sole Crusher fails for me in two separate posts, you can read them in the Zoé Lee hag I have on my blog.

It’s almost time to travel back to Victorian England for Miss Scarlet and The Duke Season 4, jam-packed with more drama, puzzling crimes, and hilarious banter.  From action-packed cases, to higher professional and emotional stakes than ever, here’s what we know so far about the new season. Read on to learn when Season 4 premieres, watch a trailer, find out where to watch new episodes, plus get some intriguing teasers from the cast and creator.
Miss Scarlet and The Duke Season 4 Premiere Date
Sleuths and mystery fanatics, mark your calendars for the Miss Scarlet and The Duke Season 4 premiere on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at 8/7c only on MASTERPIECE on PBS (followed immediately by the Season 4 premiere of All Creatures Great and Small at 9/8c).
What to Expect in Miss Scarlet and The Duke Season 4
Some major moments shook things up in the Season 3 finale — most notably, when Eliza made the shocking decision to finally accept Nash’s job offer. But at the start of Season 4, we find that things are not going entirely smoothly over at Nash & Sons for Eliza.  Meanwhile, outside of work, Eliza’s relationship with William is heading toward a looming decision that will shape both their lives.
Miss Scarlet and The Duke Season 4 Teasers from the Creator and Cast Want some insider secrets on what to expect in Season 4? There’s no better source than the cast and creator themselves! Learn what squeal-worthy secrets they had to share about what is ahead.
Rachael New (Creator/Writer/Executive Producer): “Eliza’s got to decide: ‘Do I want to carry on in this kind of small business that I’m struggling with? Or do I want the weight and the clout of the most successful private detective agency in London behind me?’ That opens a box for her, like Pandora’s box.”
When Arabella broke things off with the Duke at the end of Season 3 by pointing out his obvious feelings for Eliza, it was a “sharp kind of slap in the face” for the curmudgeonly Detective Inspector, said New. But the question remains: “Is [it] going to make him wake up and smell the coffee and realize that, you know, is it time to do something about [his feelings for Eliza]?”
Kate Phillips (Eliza) : According to the leading lady of the series, there will be “more about Eliza and William’s history [and] how they came to be.” Plus, “There’ll definitely be some more fun characters for you to meet that are really great and you’ll just love them. And more sparring and back and forth than ever!” As for Eliza’s new job: “Nash & Sons allows her to meet lots of new people. She’s always looking to get one step ahead so the more people she meets, the more opportunities she has.”
Stuart Martin (The Duke): “There’s a lot of revelations, a lot of the emotional stories are really pushed and tested,” Martin teased. “We get to see Eliza and Duke really move forward in their relationship.”
Felix Scott (Nash): “Eliza and Nash get into a lot of trouble. That’s their thing, that’s their M.O.,” said Scott. “There’s a lot more running around, there’s a lot of capering which is going around which is lots of fun.” [For more from the cast and creator on Season 4, read our full, exclusive interview published in February, 2023.]

Y - What are your secondhand fandoms (i.e., fandoms you aren’t in personally but are tangentially familiar with because your friends/people on your dash are in them)?
Ben 10 - grew up on the shows of the original through ultimate alien, and haven't been too invested. If I knew more I'd probably make my Turbo Boyz or Hackers Trio full first
Miraculous Ladybug - fell out of the series around season 3. All I know of the show now is from the fandom freak out episodes and fanfiction (shout out to the Scarlet Lady comic on tumblr made by @/zoe-oneesama)
Loonatics - They know who they are
Sonic - I know things. I didn't want to know them but some of them are interesting. The only thing about Sonic that I sought out are from Sonic 2, a little bit of SATAM which I want to watch and rewrite as I move along, Sonic X, Sonic Heroes, and everything about Starline cause he's a good character and Villain whose hubris became the death and failure of him.
Bleach - @/niuniente makes "Death Head's Deals" and sometimes posts about Bleach
MHA - I refuse to engage with the media because Bakugou reminds me of the bullies I had who assaulted me and gave me death threats. Even my sister tried to defend him and I was like "mmm sounds like what [Alph] (not real name) and his brother did to me. :/"
Helluva/Hazbin - I got into the show because I'm an adult and adult indie animation was super cool and inspiring, but over time I grew weary of the pacing of the stories told.
Toontown - I know that Cog X Toon is popular, which is why I have Sage and Maximilian.
Pikmin - I kinda know the story. And gameplay. Never sat down to play or watch.

You know, I swore off MLB after watching 3 or 5 episodes of S4 because how I can’t follow through their logic. Then suddenly it got okay on S5?
Like it’s not and worst anymore since it got something going on now. Is this a sign to watch it again or just read a fanfic that is better from the start (Scarlet Lady)
