DOT, SB Corp. call on tourism enterprises to avail loan program
#PHinfo: DOT, SB Corp. call on tourism enterprises to avail loan program
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Dec. 10 (PIA) -- Department of Tourism (DOT) and Small Business Corporation (SB Corp.) called on affected tourism enterprises to avail of the COVID-19 Assistance to Restart Enterprises (CARES) for Tourism Rehabilitation and Vitalization of Enterprises and Livelihood (TRAVEL) program.   DOT Regional Director Carolina Uy said CARES for TRAVEL loan program is part of the government’s efforts under the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act to bring the tourism industry back on track.    “It offers zero interest loan with grace period that will provide access to working capital loans to our tourism industry players and enterprises affected by the pandemic brought by COVID-19,” Uy said.    Qualified borrowers must belong to DOT-accredited tourism enterprises under the micro, small and medium enterprise category.   “Interested loan borrowers should have Bureau of Internal Revenue-filed financial statements for the year 2018 or 2019, and should have no unresolved major negative credit dealings in other financial institutions,” she said.   Loan amount not exceeding PhP200,000 can be granted to micro enterprises; PhP500,000 to small enterprises; and PhP1 million to medium enterprises.    However, Uy said that higher loan amount may be approved for enterprises with written plan on how to restart or improve its business model in the amount of PhP300,000 for micro enterprises; PhP1 million for small enterprises and PhP2 million for medium enterprises.

“The good news is if there is an agreement to rehire or retain a significant number of workers in their respective businesses, loan applicants may still opt for even higher loan amount of up to PhP1.5 million for  small enterprises and PhP3 million for medium enterprises,” Uy shared.   There will be service fees ranging from four to eight percent, depending on the loan term.   A grace period of three to six months at the option of the loan applicant will be given, while selected enterprises will be given six to nine months grace period.    SB Corp. will validate the applications on a first-come, first-served basis. The loan applicant should be the registered business owner or the President of the corporation as supported by a secretary’s certificate.    Interested enterprises may apply online thru www.//brs.sbgfc.otg.ph.
For inquiries,  applicants may send an e-mail at [email protected]. For any problems regarding DOT-accreditation number which is a requirement for the online application, applicants may contact 0998-996-1981 or [email protected]. (CLJD/MJSC-PIA 3)

DTI-7 opens loan facility for MSMEs affected by Covid-19
#PHnews: DTI-7 opens loan facility for MSMEs affected by Covid-19
CEBU CITY – Micro and small entrepreneurs in Central Visayas affected by the enhanced community quarantine can now borrow funds from the government to help their distressed businesses amid the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Central Visayas said.
Asteria Caberte, regional director of DTI-7, said the agency is opening a PHP1-billion enterprise rehabilitation financing (ERF) for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) affected by the crisis brought by Covid-19.
Through the DTI’s financial conduit, Small Business Corporation (SB Corp), the ERF facility will be implemented under the department’s Pondo sa Pagbabago at Pagasenso (P3) program, she said.
Caberte said the loan facility aims to restore and reinstate the financially distressed businesses during Covid-19 pandemic.
“The loan facility is also open for businesses who want to re-structure or re-purpose their business operations to suit the recent demand of the market,” she said in a statement.
Caberte said micro enterprises with asset size of not more than PHP3 million may borrow PHP10,000 up to PHP200,000, and small enterprises with asset size of not more than PHP10 million may borrow a higher loan amount but will not exceed PHP500,000.
The borrowed funds are expected to be used to update loan amortizations for vehicle loans or other fixed asset loans of the business, replace inventory for damaged perishable stocks, and as working capital replacement to restart the business, she added.
Caberte further said a grace period on payments will be given to borrowers until such time the Covid-19 crisis has abated.
Although SB Corp still has to release the requirements and guidelines of the ERF, she is encouraging MSME business owners to contact any of the DTI Central Visayas provincial offices to signify their interest and to get an endorsement from the corporation.
The telephone numbers and email addresses of DTI-7 provincial offices can be found on their official website or its social media page.
Borrowers may also contact SB Corp’s toll-free hotline 1-800-10-6513333 or email [email protected] or [email protected].
The program can also be viewed through  https://www.facebook.com/PondoSaPagbabagoAtPagasenso/.
The ERF facility forms part of the Philippine government’s PHP27.1-billion package of priority measures to help fight against Covid-19 and provide relief to affected sectors. (PNA)
