'Crash' Mixed Media Object, 505 x 505 mm, 1992 (destroyed in 2010) B/W Laser print, Wood, Zinc Sheet, Steel Sheet, Plaster, Glas, Palm Leaf, Gold metallic powder
This very early mixed media object contains one of my first computer graphics that I created at the end of 1990 and/or beginning of 1991 with Xerox Ventura under GEMDOS before I was able to use Windows and MacOs systems. Shortly before, I had finished my job as a props technician at the theater. The mixed media object clearly shows access to the resources of everyday theater life, such as theater blood and plaster molds.

'GEIL' / 1997
LED animation for public LED billboards in Leipzig
On the occasion of the Leipzig Book Fair in 1997 (March 19. - March 23.), I made an update of my LED animation 'I'm so GEIL says inge meise' based on the quote by Elfriede Jelinek. The LED billboard in Leipzig had now become larger and shows several colors. The selection of animations shown was curated by Prof. Dieter Daniels. The work is to be understood as an intervention in public space. Back then, the advertising sections of newspapers were full of telephone sex advertisements with small imaginary portraits of women and the Internet became popular with adult content. I used these images as a template for my animation. As a so-called 'Easter egg', in addition to the quote, an IP address was displayed that referred to a fake 'porn website' called 'Inge Meise Chatline'. This website did not show any explicit content but repeated introductory texts over and over again. The subversive thing was - the IP address belonged to the website of the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig (hgb-leipzig.de). So if you accessed the art school's website using your IP address, you would get to the fake porn site. This situation lasted until the summer of 1997, when a new HGB IT employee unknowingly took the website offline. However, the website can be accessed here for documentation purposes:
Website: Inge Meise Chatline

'ich bin so GEIL sagt inge meise' / 1996
LED animation for public LED billboards in Leipzig, Berlin, Hamburg
The animation is based on a quote by Elfriede Jelinek and was made for an award. The animation was created for an art prize that was intended to promote the first public LED billboards in Germany. Together with my fellow student at the time, Markus Soukup, we won third prize and the animations were then shown in public spaces in Leipzig, Berlin and Hamburg.

Šćipata Marata / 1993/1994
Video about the sorbian legend 'Šćipata Marata'.
The Šćipata Marata is in the sorbian heritage a so called 'wild woman'.
The video was recorded in summer 1993 around Bautzen in Upper Lusatia.
The video was made by a team around artist group 'Riefenstahl'. The artist group was related to NSK (Neue Slowenische Kunst / Neue Sorbische Kunst).
The artist group was able to win Majka Kowarjec and Karl Kranzkowski as leading actors.
Sorry for the poor quality the video was digitized from a nearly 30 year old tape.

I am the doorway - Translation / 1999
Installation (software 'TOR', tattoo (QR code), photography, shirt, glass cabinet, office chair)
Interactive installation at art-gallery 'Villa Kobe', Halle/Saale for Award 'Kunstförderpreis Halle'
Awarded with 3rd prize.
In 1999 the “I am the doorway” series of works had it first appearance at “Translation” Kunstförderpreis der Stadtwerke Halle. This particular work is based on the idea to find an expression for a contemporary tattoo. Artist Bernhard Schipper developed a software (TOR) what is able to encode any sentence into a threedimensional bitmap. Later on Berlin based tattoo artist Tobias Werner from Pain & Ink Dept. did the real job by getting the encoded sentence “I am the doorway” into Bernhard Schippers skin. Since the artist isn’t able to stay 24/7 in an exhibition over weeks – the artwork itself has disappeared by intention. The only proof that the artworks exists: a bloody and stained shirt what the artist was wearing after the tattoo session and a cheap framed photography of the fresh tattoo.
