#say there isn’t misogyny in how they’re written / whose feelings and internal state gets prioritized in places

the Gansey family + sarchengsey lunch scene is interesting from a Gansey’s-relationship-with-his-family-sucks-so-much-on-god perspective but like. It could be a much better chapter than it is I wish there was jumping around in povs because there are these moments of Gansey noticing in periphery that Blue is Not having a good time there or at least is having some uncomfortable interactions with his parents (including them being like oh what a lovely exotic cadence about her accent which :/. if your reading Blue as a WoC that’s deeply uncomfortable if your just reading her as white it’s still annoying and condescending and classist and you know she hated it) but the focus isn’t really on her it’s on the Gansey-Helen convo which yk I enjoy for some of my last AG crumbs but I don’t like that there’s more emphasis placed on how the family’s responses to Blue effect Gansey rather than how she feels about them. I would have liked the scene in split pov or just a follow up about it in the next Blue pov.
#listen I Love bluesey like I’ve said before they were one of the first romances I felt strongly about in fiction so they have a special#place in my heart and I think they have good writing and development that gets overlooked and undersung. but I’m also not going to lie and#say there isn’t misogyny in how they’re written / whose feelings and internal state gets prioritized in places#and you could say that’s because this is Gansey’s book but like. Adam isn’t getting that treatment when it comes to processing#s speaks#s rereads trk#trc reread notes#trc#anyway I want to write Blue at a Gansey family event soon. It might come up in one of the loops in tesselation but not for a while so maybe#I should write a one shot about it#blue sargent#richard gansey#the Gansey family
