Huge mahalo to Tony for coming back out with us again and speaking up for sharks! We have so much respect for you using your platform to raise awareness for shark conservation, we hope to dive with you again sometime! 🤙🏽 Photos by @juansharks Repost @tony_giordano ・・・ ROUND II Cage-less #SharkDive - #OahuNorthShore. (Swipe) Another unbelievable experience and more importantly another great lesson from @oceanramsey, @juansharks and @danny_mako, for further knowledge of the amazing and gorgeous creatures these are. Many of you who have known me a long time know that back in 2009 I became a strong advocate and supporter in ending the senseless killing of dolphins and raising awareness of @thecove foundation. The senseless and absolute brutal killings of sharks has brought it to a whole other level now. Sharks kill (on accident) less than a dozen humans a year, yet humans kill 70-100 million sharks every year. FACT! Yet the media loves to cover that rare shark attack on a human, but are not covering the 10,000 sharks every hour that are being killed simply for their fins for a popular soup in Asia called #sharkfinsoup which is mostly just a status symbol. It disgusts me. Just as you read this, over 200 sharks were just killed for their fins and then their bodies thrown back over to bleed out and drown! We need sharks who play such a MASSIVE roll in the health of our oceans. Please take the time to watch our friend @oceanramsey’s and @juansharks new award-winning documentary #SavingJaws with @oneoceandiving. It is a must see eye opener. You can easily find the documentary Saving Jaws on Amazon Prime with Apple TV. For @london.giordano and I to have another opportunity to dive down and swim with these gorgeous creatures surrounding us by the dozens, is an experience words can’t describe and all must experience themselves. Sharks because of media and even more stupid movies from the 70’s and still today, are extremely misconceived. Please take the time to watch Saving Jaws and please share and re-share anything you can to stop the brutal killings of sharks before it is too late. We must turn this around NOW! https://www.instagram.com/p/B4IkqetHTgK/?igshid=i68vwulxoej4

#Repost from my friend and future youth ocean conservation ambassador.@haydengarbez Please follow and share this! Let's stop Publix from selling our local sharks as well as all sharks! @jim_abernethy ・・・ This photo is from yesterday. It’s funny how @publix claims their fisheries and stores are sustainable, yet they still sell sharks! The last time I was in contact with them, they said they would get me through to their Fisheries Board. That was September 2019. I never heard back. So, tomorrow I’m sending off a handwritten letter detailing my concerns for both human health, and shark sustainability. I’ll be requesting a meeting also. I have no problem with local fishermen fishing sharks (with following the law and catch limit). They have the right to do so and I understand that. I do though have a problem with big corporations mass-selling one of the most important species, who are on the brink of almost becoming endangered/extinct. Sharks are worth more alive than on shelves. 🦈🤙🦈✊ #conservation #sharkconservation #saveoursharks #savesharks #jawsome #politics #political #activism #activist #advocate #advocacy #wildlife #wildlifeconservation #jaws #savingjaws #handsoffmyfins #sharkallies #sharkfinsoup #sharkfin #sharkfishing #sharkfinning #finning #nofinfl #finbannow #publix #fishing #robstewart #sustainability #sustainable https://www.instagram.com/p/B7o1tlqBnw2/?igshid=14fpyvsfttaf4

#Repost @oneoceandiving ・・・ Incredible repost from our co-founder @juansharks 📷🦈 ・・・ So big she won’t even fit in my wide angle 16 to 35mm lens @canonusa @aquatech_imagingsolutions Check out @savingjawsmovie to learn more about sharks and why sharks are so important to the oceans ecosystem. @oceanramsey pictured here showing what is possible. The idea that sharks see humans as food source and the fear that media pollutes us about sharks is rubbish. Coconuts are more dangerous than sharks. I’m not saying sharks are not dangerous as a apex predator, but far from the monsters they get portrayed as in most films and traditional media. Humans and sharks can #coexist and need to, for the survival of our ocean. #Repost @oceanramsey (@get_repost) ・・・ Wow! I don’t even know what to say. @savingjawsmovie finished last year and is now out! We have a decade of footage that we didn’t even compile and so many interviews from amazing people we would still love to share but we will continue our efforts for shark conservation on multiple projects and platforms because every effort has the potential to reach more people about the importance and plight of sharks. The number of people who now care about sharks is growing and that will mean more voices and support for desperately needed protection from extremely wasteful practices like shark finning. For well over a decade @Juansharks and I have realized that the sharks we grew up with have slowly been disappearing. Its been an honor and privilege to dedicate our lives to being a voice for them. We realize that people often look first and listen 2nd so we are lucky enough work INCREDIBLE (is a serious understatement) creatives like director/cinematographer @keonishoots who put this whole film together with @gravitasventures . So many people to Thank I can’t list them all but thank YOU for your support as we continue our efforts to #HelpSaveSharks and #SaveTheOcean . #SavingJaws is currently available on @amazonprimevideo (go to amazon smile and select **Save The Sea Turtles International** to support the non profit organizations we work with while you shop. Its also available on @itunes I cannot thank enough people for the help and support bringing this project together and am excited to share more. - PRESS PLAY...part 1 of my “If sharks could speak” If they knew what humans were doing to their populations...#SpeakUpForSharks #HelpSaveSharks #saveTheOcean Please repost Photo I took years ago of a beautiful #GreatWhiteShark I hope is still alive 💙 #savingjawsmovie #SavingJaws #OceanRamsey #SharkSpeaking #ifSharksCouldSpeak #truth #reality #apexpredatornotmonster #oneocean #oneoceanglobalambassador #oneoceandiving 💙🦈💙 My shark would say “I know I look scary but there’s a lot more to me than meets the eye and if you got to know more about me and you might even like me. My job is to keep the ocean healthy by preventing disease from spreading and keeping lower trophic level populations in balance.  I pick off the week wounded injured sick dead and dying. Unfortunately my kind is being brought to the point of extinction we are being killed by humans at a rate of almost 100 million sharks every year, that averages out to 2 to 3 sharks being killed every single second, that is not a sustainable number.  We are mostly killed in very cruel ways with our fins being cut off while we are still alive just to satisfy the demand for shark fin soup a status symbol bowl of soup that is not even nutritious, its toxic, like our meat, its bad for your health to eat shark. We are also being killed just for sport for shark fishing or just because people think we are monsters or we are wastefully caught in nets. Many people don’t care about us because they’re afraid of us because we are so Misportrayed in the media and we can’t speak up for ourselves. Less than 10 people a year die from a shark bite it’s very rare that we ever make a mistake despite the fact that humans dress up looking like seals and acting like injured marine animals. Please help us before it’s too late before we are all gone because the rest of the ocean relies on us and all humans rely on the ocean for the air they breathe and I am a part of that life cycle. please help me, please repost this and help save the last of my kind” - via @oceanramsey https://www.instagram.com/p/Bn056bLgKIt/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=xldxuzdh57sd

Awesome #repost from @jyemusic !! Thanks for diving with us and raising awareness on the importance of shark conservation 💙 ・・・ 🦈 ☀️ Our favorite activity we did on our trip to Hawaii! Such an incredible experience being in the ocean with sharks. Contrary to what many believe, being in their space was a very calm and peaceful experience. Thanks to the team at @oneoceandiving for educating us. Give them a follow and read up on how important these endangered sharks are to our ecosystem. 📸: @chiaraphoto Our awesome guide: @mermaid_kayleigh #savesharks #sharks #savingjaws #sharkdive #oneoceandiving #hawaii #northshore #haleiwa #oahu #swimwithsharks #ocean #travel #vacation (at North Shore, Haleiwa, Hawaii) https://www.instagram.com/p/B3QR0UNnwgM/?igshid=hbaq17s7x5wl

Have you watched @savingjawsmovie yet?! It is now available on iTunes, Amazon Prime, and Vimeo/Google Play for international audiences. With shark week around the corner don’t bite into the fear and be mindful of sensationalized and fear based shows that don’t do accurately portray the true nature of these amazing animals. #CageTheFear #SlashFearNotFins #ApexPredatorNotMonster #Repost @juansharks ・・・ So stoked that Saving Jaws is out and available on online. Ironically, I grew u with a intense fear of sharks as a surfer in Hawaii, thanks to media like the movie Jaws. After finding the truth about sharks, I dedicated the last 25 years of my life to changing peoples perceptions of sharks and this film dives into a big chuck of this effort with @oceanramsey In the end saving sharks is about saving the ocean and we really can’t live with out it. Please share this film with everyone or at least the information about sharks in it. Still can’t thank everyone that helped to make this a reality, especially my braddah @keonishoots and #ohana Also be on look out for another eye opening shark conservation film by @realeliroth and @nina hopefully coming soon. #helpsavesharks #ApexPredatorsNotMonsters #coexist #savingjaws #savingjawsmovie #sharks #whiteshark #greatwhiteshark #massive #shark #Hawaii photo by #juansharks using @aquatech_imagingsolutions @canonusa @xcelwetsuits @cressi1946 @freestylewatches @north_sails @guayaki #changingperceptions @savingjawsmovie online on amazon internationally and iTunes locally 💙🦈💙 (at Oneoceandiving.com) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bz3sMpdHVpd/?igshid=1dnu6axoalr5l

Awesome repost from one of our safety divers in training @scubabarbie7 💙🦈 ・・・ Born and raised in New England this hits home. In 2015 june 19. 2015, Allison pohle wrote a article for the @boston sharing that the author of Jaws, Peter Benchley, WISHED HE NEVER WROTE IT! @peter_benchley_photography ▪ He sold more than 10 million book copies and turned into a millionaire. BUT He regrettes writing it. He said: “What I now know, which wasn’t known when I wrote Jaws, is that there is no such thing as a rogue shark which develops a taste for human flesh." ▪ Humans kill between 50 and 100 million sharks each year, he said, but sharks only kill a handful of humans. "The Shark Research Institute found that the populations of eight shark species declined more than 50 percent from 1986 to 2000.... The odds of dying in a shark attack are 1 in 3.7 million, according to the Florida Program for Shark Research, and it’s been nearly 80 years since someone died of a shark attack in Massachusetts." ▪ Yet, for some, the terror of a real-life Jaws attack persists. SavingJaws is a new movie that will come out soon from @oneoceandiving co-founders @oceanramsey and @juansharks. Please watch and realized that media always exaggerates everything and sharks arent the harmful creatres that are portrayed. ▪ Thank you again @boston for sharing news like this, like i said it hits home to realize sharks are being killed in the waters i grew up in. There is no reason to be scared. ▪ Also big thanks to @camgrantphotography for this beautiful photos #bostonnews #savingjaws #girlswhofreedive #northshoreoahu #explorehawaii #onewiththepack #ladyshark #waterbaby #blondehavemorefun #freediver #jaws #savetheseas #savetheocean #savethesharks (at North Shore, Haleiwa, Hawaii) https://www.instagram.com/p/BxGbLurhix2/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=13qa1mwtb4age

🎉 Cheers to the start of another year with countless opportunities to speak up for sharks and the ocean 💙 Let’s make 2019 the year to say no to shark-fin soup, unsustainable fishing, shark byproducts like shark squalene and cartilage, and single-use plastic! 🙌🏽 // Beautiful photo by our co-founder, @juansharks 🦈 ・・・ 2018 brought the largest tiger shark I have ever seen or at least the widest tiger shark I have documented. This is #Moana in our tiger shark ID program @oneoceansharks. Moana became instagram famous in 2015 when @zacefron dubbed her his spirit animal during dive with her @oneoceandiving. I feel like she may have doubled in size since that dive. I hope to see her babies in 2019 🎉🙏🏼. #nextgeneration #sharks #changethewayyouthink #about #sharks #cagethefear #ApexPredatorNotMonster without sharks, the ocean that we know today will cease to exist. #savingjaws @savingjawsmovie (at North Shore in Hale'Iwa, Hawaii) https://www.instagram.com/p/BsJK4V-Bqiq/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=yhqblsixth4m

We’re so stoked that we had the opportunity to take pro surfer @kellyslater and his daughter, @taylrsltr, swimming cage-free with sharks 🦈💙 Thank you for coming out with us! Stunning photos of their experience from our co-founder, @juansharks. ・・・ 1st photo is @oceanramsey and  @kellyslater diving with us @oneoceandiving  Kelly came out with his daughter @taylrsltr and @gregstoneocean as apart of a ocean conservation pod cast, coming soon.  The sharks were a bit shy this day, hanging out around 50ft which did not stop Kelly from enjoying some bottom time with them.  It was a huge honor to share a dive with the  11x world champ of 🏄and his talent in water goes past surfing, some of Kelly’s breath holds had me struggling to stay down with him.  Means a lot to me to see surfers sharing the ocean with sharks, understanding how important sharks are to Heath of the reef and the oceans ecosystem.  You could tell Kelly was very comfortable and respectful with the animals.  Hoping to get him out again in August with one of our big tiger sharks along with past one ocean diving surfing legends @clarklittle @thomasvictorcarroll @anthony_walsh_ @shanedorian @mikecoots and @healeywaterops all in the water at the same dive.  That would be an epic event. #letsmakeithappen #coexist #ApexPredatorNotMonster #oneocean #weneedsharks #savingjaws #helpsavesharks (at Haleiwa, Hawaii) https://www.instagram.com/p/BseF8Nch3l-/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=z53kjd6vnul5

Shark whisperer @juansharks embracing the love coming head on from one of our favorites, #Moana 🦈 Encounters like this are made possible due to education and understanding as well as mutual respect. Our crew is never naive to the fact that these creatures are in fact apex predators and wild animals, however with strong backgrounds/knowledge of shark behavior we are able to #coexist peacefully! 😌 ・・・ This is what happens when @oceanramsey takes my @aquatech_imagingsolutions camera housing away from me. #Moana the tiger shark looking for her opportunity for a hug from me. I didn’t want to make #Nikki the tiger shark mad so I had to decline on the second photo.  All fun aside, Moana was just curiously coming in close and I’m just using my hands to keep a little space between us. Would she have gone for a bite, in my mind the answer is no way.  However, sharks in the end are wild animals and need to be respect as an apex predator but are not the monsters that traditional media wants us to believe.  With a little bit of shark behavior knowledge, humans can share the ocean like Hawaiians have for generations.  To learn more about Hawaiian cultural connections to sharks and the ocean check out @oneoceanhawaii and to get to know sharks on a personal level come dive with me and the team @oneoceandiving in Hawaii.  #ApexPredatorsNotMonster #cagethefear #coexist #weneedsharks #savingsharks is #savinghumans #savingjaws #savingjawsmovie #oneocean #onechance #helpsavesharks https://www.instagram.com/p/BnC2NMphoJq/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=13cjda40b1cnu

Amazing photo by Co-founder @juansharks of @oceanramsey with Baby Roxy and Moana, two tiger sharks in our field ID program @oneoceansharks This season has been amazing for tiger shark interactions so far, and witnessing these incredible animals first hand is truly a life changing experience. In this photo you can see the difference in coloration between the two sharks, as the stripes tend to be more distinct and fade as tiger sharks mature. Come out with us soon for a chance to see a tiger for yourself! #Repost @juansharks ・・・ This is @oceanramsey documenting behavior between #SharkID “Baby Roxy”, the smaller tiger shark, and “Moana”, the large female tiger shark. Tiger sharks are nomadic sharks, traveling huge distances sometimes even up to 60 miles in one day. This type of behavior leads them to be more of an anti-social animal, so when they encounter other sharks in the same area they usually don’t get along right away, they have to size each other up and establish their social hierarchy. For more info on shark behavior check out @oneoceanresearch @oneoceandiving @oneoceansharks and for Hawaiian cultural connection to sharks check out our @oneoceanhawaii #coexist #ApexPredatorNotMonster #savingjaws #savingjawsmovie #comingsoon #beautiful #sharks #tigershark #shark photo by #juanoliphant using @aquatech_imagingsolutions @cressi1946 @xcelwetsuits new #tigersharkprint #wetsuit #forwomen #wetsuitsforacause #sharkconservation

Awesome capture of a trio of Sandbar sharks taken on a recent charter with @b_rocka! Many of our guests are a bit nervous or apprehensive about getting in the water with sharks, but most find the experience surprising calming and even meditative watching the sharks school in clear blue water with sun rays streaming down.
