Thinking about a school spirits au where the reason Simon can see Maddie is because he’s dying, like cancer or something wrong with his heart. And he knows but hasn’t told anyone yet, and over the course of the show it’s getting worse because he doesn’t want to admit he needs help so he’s not getting any medical help. And after a particularly stressful event or something his heart gives out and he dies for a few minutes and gets to actually hug Maddie and see the others before they manage to bring him back and the living gang forces him to get help.

Also everyone’s gay. Maybe I’ll write it when I have time….

soooo funny when your alleged other best friend nicole subtly hints to janet that y’all know it’s her in maddie’s body in front of maddie’s mom and you absolutely lose it but when pretty ex-boyfriend xavier dumps a whole ass salt shaker on the body snatcher he doesn’t get fussed at in the slightest for it

but I won’t lie with I say I’m highkey shipping Xavier and Simon (I’m in the middle of writing a fic for them, my beloveds!) and they’re probably my favorite ship right now honestly 🫣

Still writing the fair fanfic but have this in the meantime. Prompted by @cloudedhologram's post where we + @simonssweater came up with Xavier "winning" the bear for Simon at a county fair. The meme format was too funny to pass up I just had to do it.

I haven't written fanfiction in years but school spirits are making me want to write one where the ghosts are alive and the alive kids are the ghosts, so an reversed au!

Simon would the role of Maddie's place or something like that.

But like the others have different deaths and time periods when they die!

And I do want to add Simon x Xavier (as it is a savier fanfic)

yuri and Quinn are alive as well because I also want Charley x yuri and Rhonda x Quinn, and of course Wally x Maddie!

My idea is that it's the school spirits plot but my own creative with it and to have my favorite ships!

My questions for everyone is

One: what time period do you think Xavier, Nicole and Claire die in? what time would they fit into? I want them different like the original ghosts! (This one is done and figured out!)

Two: how do you want some of their relationships to grow?

outline snippet from my School Spirits/Savier long fic that I've had for a while. Based on the scene where the living group's coming back from the college party:

Simon’s in the backseat of Nicole's car with Xavier. He’s feeling like shit. He wants to sleep the drunkenness away but leaning his head against the window rattles his brain and leaning it back against the headrest requires him to keep it there manually (he’s too tired to do that). 

Xavier notices this and tells Simon he can rest his head on him if he wants. Simon squints at him, looking at him as if he’s joking and waiting for X to laugh at him. Xavier, to show that he’s not joking or anything, unbuckles his seatbelt and moves to the center seat, buckles himself back in, and lowers his shoulder so he can lay on it. Simon shakes his head and leans his head back against the headrest instead as he closes his eyes. 

Xavier doesn’t move back to his seat. 

After a few minutes, he feels Simon’s head fall onto his shoulder. He huffs softly, glad that Simon had put his pride aside for a moment so he could actually be comfortable. 

“Your shoulder’s boney.” -S

“But it’s definitely better than the window, isn’t it?” -X

Simon doesn’t say anything. Xavier knows he’s right. 

Once they’re finally back at Nicole’s place (where Simon’s car is at). 

Xavier softly wakes Simon up (he fell asleep).

“Hey, wake up. We’re at Nicole’s.” 

“Wuh?” 

Simon shifts, snuggling closer into his arm. Xavier does something else (like poke his cheek or something) so he can wake up. Once he finally does, Simon rubs his face and wiggles a bit so he can dig out his keys from his pocket to hand them to X. 

“Here.” Simon nudges the keys toward him. “You’re gonna have to drive us home.” 

They both get out and Simon talks to Nicole a bit, Xavier walks over to Simon’s car (tells the girls to have a good night) and gets in to warm it up.

A couple of minutes later, Simon tumbles in and sits there silently. X watches him quietly before asking him if he’s okay. 

Cue the heartbreaking scene where Simon starts crying. 

Maybe Xavier comes clean about seeing the hospital ghosts? He's not sure if now's a good time seeing Simon open up and be vulnerable. First, he needs to be a good friend by being an open ear and a shoulder to cry on; once he's taken care of him, then he can talk and tell him a few things of his own.

Yeah, so I wanna have things like this up on this blog just so I can share stuff while I'm in the process of writing stuff :)
